Chapter Text
Keith had spent most of his life being ignored. All sorts of people who could’ve reached out but chose not to. Foster parents, kids, social workers, police, strangers and of course teachers. He had met, what he would consider, every kind of teacher on the planet.
The kind ones, who “cared” but when he had told them about the bruises or why he didn’t bring lunch to school, they ignored him. Maybe a talk with the current foster parent, which resulted in nothing but more bruises and less food. In the end they never cared enough.
The mean ones, who at least didn’t hide their feelings. It didn’t matter how many times he tried to prove them wrong, they always saw him as a nuisance. In the end he gave up on trying to disprove their made up analysis of him. And once he did the teachers would let him be, ignore him as if he was thin air. Wasted space.
It wasn’t until he got to his second year of high school that things changed. Kolivan, the new guidance counselor, had made an impression. He stood up for Keith in front of several teachers who tried to convince him not to waste his time “He’s a lost cause”. But Kolivan had worked with “lost causes” before he said. Keith wasn’t special in that department, not that he cared much about being special, he knew he wasn’t. Kolivan gave him hope of a future of his own making. He helped him study and got his grades up, and ones the teachers realised too, things got easier, better. Kids were still being shits about Keith's looks and attitude but for once, they had nothing on his studies and grades. Suddenly he had a chance as much as anyone else who gave a crap about grades. A chance for a future in college, maybe even university. He could dream, and he did. He dreamt of a future that was his.
And here he was, sitting in the third row of psychology 101 with professor Shirogane. Most of his classes consisted of science majors, but Kolivan thought he should try finding a subject outside his comfort zone for experience and maybe find a few friends who aren’t all science nerds. He didn’t word it like that but Keith had learned to read the meaning behind Kolivans grunts and cold deliveries. Not that Keith had any friends to even categorize them as the nerdy and less nerdy ones. In fact Keith had one “friend” and he was a 40-something year old high school counselor. So no friends was the short answer if anyone asked, which the answer very much implied that no one did…
So here he was. But something was different. Professor Shirogane was staring at him. Was he? Why was he staring? There’s a loud girl behind him, is he staring at her? Keith turns around to look at her and then back at Mr. Shirogane. He’s smirking now. Oh he’s definitely staring at Keith.
What’s that noise? Is someone pounding on the door? He looks at the door. Why is he the only one looking at the door?!
oh
oh
His heart is pounding. Pretty fast, Pretty loud. Is Mr. Shiroganes starring making him nervous? Keith looks down at his work paper. Is he sweating? Why is he nervous? oh right a teacher is staring at him. Should he look back up? Still staring, still smirking. Stop looking up!
Is this how other people feel with the attention of a teacher? He hasn’t done anything to stand out right? Maybe Shirogane can tell that Keith didn’t pick this subject out of interest. Is he falling behind? oh god what if he is? He can’t, his scholarship depends on him keeping up his grades.
“Mr. Kogane” oh god
Keith looks up and up and up, is it normal to be this tall? and broad, what even are shoulders? Nope that’s his chest, his massive chest. Gulp - Shut up Keith, just shut up, he’s gonna think you’re an idiot.
“Sir?” Keith shrinks in on himself, begging for the loud girl to say something, but his prayers are wasted, for only then does Keith notice that amidst all his panic the bell rang out and he’s alone in the classroom, well except for the mountain in front of him, which apparently is still talking, woops.
“-that’s a shame.” Shirogane said something, but what? Was he telling Keith off? Is Keith far behind everyone else in class? Well he is obviously, since he’s the only one here…
"S- sorry sir! I’ll do better, it’s not my preferred subject but I really am trying my best-” And now you’re just yapping Keith “I’ll do better I promise!” Keith wished Mr. Shirogane would just throw him out the window, never mind that they are on the 3rd floor, he could do it with those arms… great and now he’s looking at his arms, truly a mistake from a logical standpoint.
“You’re worried about your grades?” Mr. Shirogane is leaning up against the table, crossing his arms. He chuckles. “You’re on scholarship right?” Keith nods, all words gone from his brain. “Impressive, I’d be sad to see you leave this class, with it not being your preferred subject.” He looks at Keith, probably expecting an answer…
“Well it’s not that I don’t like it sir I just… I’m not going to drop out-”
“So you wanna do better? Or… do you prefer being bottom?” He smirks. Keith is drowning in sweat. Did someone drop a sauna in here?
“I-I wanna do better sir…” He stutters, “ I can’t fail this, if my grades drop I-”
“Lose your scholarship, right.” He nods solemnly “And being in your condition, that would mean dropping out wouldn’t it?”
“Yes sir…” Keith looks down. Mr. Shirogane is right, he only has this one shot of proving everyone wrong, including himself.
“Well we can’t have that can we?” Keith feels a hand brushing his hair away from his face, his shoulders tense but then he looks up, and Mr. Shirogane is smiling at him. Is he trying to comfort him? It’s.. nice.
His hand moves down to his cheek and holds his face in his giant, soft palm.
“So, how about working something out?”
Mr. Shirogane's office is pretty big, but closed off. There are no other offices down the hall and the view from the windows leads to a green area with no buildings in sight. Truly isolated from the rest of the college. Keith is currently standing in front of Mr. Shirogane's desk where the man himself is sitting on top. Maybe sitting on desks is something teachers learn at the teacher 101 class.
“Come here” Mr. Shirogane holds his arms out and grabs Keith's wrists when he gets closer. “Tell me Keith, why do I never see you around anyone?”
“Well I don’t really have any friends…”
Shirogane gently swung his wrists from side to side. Almost playing with them. “That’s a shame." He pulls Keith closer. “Are you lonely then?”
“I- ehm…”
“You can be honest, I’m your teacher, I’m here to help.” Well Keith had heard that one before, but this time felt different, Mr. Shirogane caressed his cheek again. “Are you Keith..?” And this time Keith nodded. Of course he was lonely. Kolivan even said he could suffer from depression, whatever that inhaled. But those things always came secondary to surviving, he’d told Kolivan as much, and he’d responded with the same look Mr. Shirogane is giving him now. Keith didn’t like to admit it, but being alone all the time wasn’t out of preference but simply the result of no one having an interest in wasting their time on him. He told Mr. Shirogane, why though? He doesn’t know and part of him knows that it’s a waste. He’s a teacher, he won’t care…
“oh Keith…” Keith finds himself being pulled into the wide chest of his teacher, at the same time he notice that his face is wet- oh . He’s crying. And he’s in his teacher's lap. like a puppy. curled in to his chest seeking pets to feel better. And he hates that it works. He’s never had anyone hold him like this, care for him like this. Not even Kolivan would do more than give him a side hug. But Mr. Shirogane is holding him, protecting him.
“Listen Keith” And he was, he’d listen until his ears were bleeding “You need me…” And he did, he need him and told Shirogane as much, “Good, so if I’m going to let you stay here, by keeping your grades up, I need something in return obviously.” Obviously , “Does that sound fair to you?”
“Yes sir.”
“Good, then let's get one thing straight, when we’re alone you’ll do whatever I say alright baby?” Had Keith not been bundled up in what he is pretty sure is the sexiest man he’s ever seen. He would’ve probably given his teachers wording a second thought, but unfortunately for future Keith, he was.
“I’ll do it, whatever it is.” Keith looked up into his eyes, hoping it would convince his teacher that he truly meant what he said.
“That’s my boy” And if Keith had a tail it would be wagging. “Now do as daddy tells you,” He stands up, swallowing the word daddy down his throat. He hadn’t been calling anyone that since he was four, and now it certainly has a different meaning behind it. Keith stood up, though Shirogane held onto his wrists like before.
“Do daddy a favour… and wet yourself.”
And at that moment Keith realised he had taken on a new role, one he had never even considered, when it came to his record of teachers. But here he was, pleasing his psychology teacher, at that moment he had become the teachers pet . A title given to him by his low self esteem and lack of dignity. And as his pants grew darker and wetter all he could think about was pleasing Mr- daddy.
“Good boy.”
