Chapter 1: The Trial of a Brigadier
Summary:
When the Doctor regenerates into a Seraph and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart gets court-martialed, things sure do happen.
Notes:
Welcome, my friends, to a rewrite of the second "act" of The Sins of a Time Lord (From Chapter 14 of the original fic till the end)! Since August, I started to be less and less convinced about the ending of the fic, so I thought I could post an alternate ending as a one-shot...But it soon evolved into making a rewrite of the "second act", expanding some chapters, adding some plotlines, and even brand new chapters! So here we are, enjoy!
Chapter Text
The Eleventh Doctor appeared in a dark room.
“Once upon a time, once upon a Time Lord. I crash-landed into the Hazbin Hotel, a building where the damned souls of Hell go to seek redemption.”
The Doctor entered the hotel and awkwardly waved at the residents. “Huh…Hello.”
"There, I met some new friends…"
“Alastor, pleasure to be meeting you, quite the pleasure!" Alastor introduced himself to the Doctor.
Vaggie smiled softly. "You were right in the commercial. You really are comforting to talk with."
Charlie hugged the Doctor, “Thank you, Doctor, thank you.”
“...And reunited with an old one.”
“It’s you…Doc!” Angel Dust hugged the Doctor, burying his face in his chest fluff and crying tears of joy. “Oh, you son of a bitch, I’ve missed you so much!”
"I decided to stay at the Hotel, helping Charlie, the Princess of Hell, to show Heaven and Redemption was possible. However it wasn’t enough, and we were forced to fight back the army of Exorcists led by the First Man, Adam, who every year descended to brutally kill the Sinners."
“ATTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!” Adam gave the order to his Exorcists.
“Things degenerated incredibly fast, and as we grew more and more desperate…I had to take desperate measures.”
"This fight was nice, but it's time to die, Doctor!" said Adam.
The Doctor noticed where he landed and grinned. "Doctor, you say? Doctor...WHO?!"
The Time Lord detonated the explosive atoms, engulfing him and Adam in the explosion.
“DOCTOR!!” Charlie shouted his name in horror.
“But despite my extreme sacrifice and my regeneration energy being exhausted, I managed to regenerate…And woke up in Heaven!”
Sera and Emily looked at the Doctor coming out of the TARDIS and then collapsing on the floor with a confused expression.
“Well, I don't know how is it possible, but whatever happened…”
The Eleventh Doctor disappeared, and in its place, there was a tall figure hidden in the shadow with many eyes on his body. He spoke with a Scottish accent.
“...It seems that my story hasn't ended yet.”
Sera was panicking.
Not only Sir Pentious, a Sinner , was now in Heaven and had been redeemed, proving Charlie right, but the Doctor was there… And looked like a Seraph .
“What sort of game are the Virtues playing?!” She thought, “They revived the Doctor, but why did they…” The High Seraphim looked at the Doctor’s unconscious body lying on a bed in a white room from the window. He seemed to have regenerated into a new body after the battle at the Hotel. His face looked both young and old, with cedar-brown skin, white irises, blue-grey sclera, dark purple pupils similar to Sera's, and large eyebrows. He also had white freckles under his eyes and a tousled mop of silver-ish hair, and was wearing a white Crombie coat with golden lining, a high-collar shirt with a matching waistcoat, trousers and light grey shoes. Other than that, like her and Emily, he had six large wings coming from his back and a much more elaborate halo flying on the top of his head, except for his looking more like a laurel crown.
“He looks like a Seraph…He looks like me.” Sera thought, “I wonder, did the Virtues just give him a new regeneration cycle, or did they straight up turn him into a Seraph?”
“Your Holiness.” Lute arrived and saluted the High Seraphim with her new prosthetic arm.
“Ah, Lute.” Sera regained composure, “How is the redeemed Sinner?”
“The scu-I mean, he's with the Junior Seraphim.” Lute noticed the Doctor from the window. “Who…Who is that Seraph?”
“That's the Doctor,” Sera explained.
Lute's eyes widened. “W-What?! The Doctor is dead, I saw his corpse with my eyes!”
“The Heavenly Virtues have decided to grant him a new regeneration cycle, as for why he looks like a Seraph Angel, your guess is as good as mine,” Sera explained.
“But…Why?” said Lute, “That man is the reason more than half of the Exorcists died during the Extermination! He should rot in Hell with those Sinners he loves so much.”
“Granting a new cycle was a decision of the Virtues.” Sera's tone grew colder. “And we do not question it.”
“Y...Yes, Your Holiness.” Lute shivered.
“Good.” Sera calmed down, “I will pay a visit to the Sinner, inform me when the Doctor wakes up.” She left.
Lute saluted the High Seraphim, then she glanced at the Doctor’s unconscious body. She clenched her fist in anger…But calmed down and left.
As Sera headed to see Sir Pentious, she started to think how chaotic it was when he arrived. Just after she and Emily saw the freshly-regenerated Doctor lying unconscious in the TARDIS, the former Sinner suddenly appeared in their office and in that matter of seconds, her reality shattered into a million pieces.
The Exterminations, all the damned souls she sent to die a second time throughout the centuries…They were all for nothing.
As the High Seraphim entered the room, Sir Pentious, now his body and outfit sporting a white-gold-pink palette, was drinking a cup of tea with Emily.
Pentious slightly panicked, and saluted Sera while still holding his cup. “Y-Your Holiness!”
“There is no need to be this formal, you can call me Sera,” Sera reassured the snake Winner with her usual diplomatic politeness.
“How’s the Doctor, Sera?” Emily asked.
“The Doctor is still unconscious,” said Sera. “Hopefully, he will wake up soon.”
“Will he be fine?” Pentious asked, “He's been unconscious for a day by now.”
“No need to worry, it's a side effect of his regeneration.” said Emily, “Give him some time and he'll be back to normal! That's what Sarah Jane told me.”
“I sssee…” said Pentious, “If I may ask, Sera, when can I go out?”
Sera looked away. “As I told you, you will be present for Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart’s trial.” She turned to Emily, “Now, I need to talk with you in private, Emily.”
Emily nodded and left with Sera. “You still don't want to let him out, do you?”
Sera sighed, “I already told you why I'm doing this, Emily, I'm worried about the Sinner-”
“-He has a name, you know?” Emily interrupted, annoyed.
“I'm worried about Sir Pentious' safety.” Sera corrected herself, “If he stays in the palace, I can be completely certain that the Exorcists won't harm him. After what happened in Hell, it's unlikely they will leave him alone.”
“Your Holiness!” An Inquisitor arrived. “I have some good news: The Doctor is waking up!”
The Doctor slowly opened his eyes, his vision was blurry.
As it started to get clear, the Time Lord saw the young Seraph looking at him, smiling warmly.
“E-Emily…” He said weakly, speaking with a Scottish accent.
“Hi, Doctor,” said Emily.
“What…What happened? How long have I been knocked out?” He attempted to get up. “I have a massive headache right now…”
“Easy now, you still fully haven't got your strength back.” Emily helped him stand up.
However, as he took the Junior Seraphim’s hand, the Doctor noticed something odd…
“My skin…It wasn't of this colour before.”
“Well, you regenerated, that's why,” Emily explained.
“What?!” said the Doctor,
Emily summoned a mirror and handed it to the Doctor. “It's a bit of a long story, Sera will explain it later.”
The Doctor looked at himself in the mirror, inspecting every new detail of his face. Then, he looked at his six large wings coming from his back.
However, this was different. Usually, when he inspects his new body in a mirror after a regeneration, he’s usually curious. But this time…He was horrified. He felt like something was wrong with him, a complete stranger in his own body. He finally remembered what happened at the Hazbin Hotel.
“W-Who…What…”
“I-I think you look great!” Emily attempted to console the Time Lord (If he was still one), “You kind of look like Sera, though.
Sera entered the room.
“Speak of the Angel…” the Doctor said under his breath.
“Doctor, you’ve finally woken up,” said Sera, now sounding slightly nervous. “How do you feel?”
“Like someone who got hit by a truck while having the mother of all hangovers.” said the Doctor, “Now, I have so many questions but for now I’ll ask the main ones: Why am I not dead among the ruins of the Hazbin Hotel? My regeneration energy was exhausted. Two: Why did I regenerate into a male version of you but with big eyebrows? And three: why am I Scottish?”
Sera cleared her throat, “The Seven Heavenly Virtues had decided to grant you a new regeneration cycle and your TARDIS materialised here after the process. As for the rest-”
“-Eh, forget that.” the Doctor interrupted, looking back at himself in the mirror. “Regeneration is a lottery, you never know what you’re gonna get. Where’s the Brigadier and the others?”
Emily and Sera glanced at each other, unsure of what to do. “Well…” said Emily, “the Brigadier…”
“Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart has been arrested, he will face Court Martial for the murder of Adam.”
“ WHAT?!?! ” The Doctor shouted, for instance, he had an avian-looking appearance and eyes appeared on his chest, forehead and wings. He panicked, “Ah! Why are eyes there?!”
“It’s normal, it happens to us Seraphim when we get too emotional.” Emily explained, “Just take a deep breath.”
The Doctor followed her advice and, after taking deep breaths a few times, he returned to normal. “Okay…Now, why is the Brigadier the one getting prosecuted? I killed Adam!”
“Incorrect.” said Sera, “While you heavily wounded him, the Brigadier is the one who gave him the coup de grace, ‘Five Round Rapid’, he described.”
“Oh, Brigadier…” the Doctor said in annoyance. “Why did he have to do that?”
“Because he was going to kill Charlie and the others, of course!” said Emily, “Also, you won’t be the only one present at the trial,”
Sir Pentious entered the room, surprising the Doctor.
“Pentious?” He said.
Pentious took off his top hat. “H-Hello, Doctor.”
“You…You got redeemed,” said the Doctor. He rushed and went to hug the snake. “I can’t believe it…Charlie was right!”
Sir Pentious chuckled, “Yesss, Miss Charlotte was right.”
The Doctor broke the hug and turned to Sera, “Now, when will the trial take place?”
“In two hours,” said Sera,
“Good, I’ll defend him at the trial,” said the Doctor, “Where is he? I want to talk to him.”
“I’ll bring you to him, follow me!” Emily left, followed by the Doctor and Sir Pentious.
As the trio headed towards the Brigadier’s office, where he was confined, they encountered Lute through the corridors.
As the immediate sight of the lieutenant, Pentious hid behind Emily, although the Exorcist was more focused on the Time Lord.
“Doctor…” She said with a venomous tone.
“Well, well, well, look what we have here. Commander Nyder.” the Doctor mocked her, “Angry that your winged Dalek comrades and the First Sexist died at the hands of some “filthy Sinners”?”
Lute wanted to punch the Doctor in the face, but she attempted to remain composed, especially with Emily nearby.
“You may go out of this unscathed, but I’ll make sure it won’t happen for neither that traitorous Brigadier nor that serpent little shit over there,” said Lute,
“We’ll see about that. Now, if you excuse me, I’d rather not waste my time talking with yet another genocidal wacko and go talk with my client.” The Doctor left, followed by Emily and Pentious.
Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart was calmly reading a book in his office/house, now temporarily under house until the start of his trial.
“Brigadier,” an Inquisitor entered the room. “You have visitors.” She let the Doctor, Emily and Sir Pentious in.
“Ah, Doctor,” the Brigadier put the book on his desk and stood up. “You’re finally awake.”
“Yeah, and it seems I lost a lot while I was knocked out, like you getting court-martialed.” said the Doctor.
“So, they told you.” said the Brigadier.
“Of course-” an eye appeared on the Doctor’s chest which immediately vanished as he calmed. “It’s just…It’s so unfair! Why are you taking all the blame? If Adam killed Charlie, Lucifer would have actually staged an invasion of Heaven.”
“It is. Apparently, not even Heaven is a perfect place.” said the Brigadier, “A genocide happened right under our noses, and the High Seraphim authorised all of this…”
“And of course, she will come out of this completely unscathed, the corrupt coward!”
“Actually…The Brigadier won’t be the only defendant.” Sera arrived “I shall be on trial too for the Exterminations.”
“Oh, so this isn’t completely corrupt after all.” said the Doctor, “Don’t worry, Brigadier, I will defend you at the trial and make sure you won’t be punished!”
“But, how?” Sir Pentious asked, “Sssure, the Brigadier killed Adam to protect our friendss, but he still killed a fellow officer.”
“Simple, we’ll tell the court about the Exterminations properly, so they will know that it was self-defence.” the Doctor explained, “And who’s better to talk about if not a redeemed Sinner who survived hundreds of Exterminations?”
“That could work.” the Brigadier commented.
“It will, believe me,” said the Doctor, “When did I ever disappoint you?”
“Quite a few times, actually.” the Brigadier snarked.
“That’s because I thought your orders were stupid,” the Doctor smirked, “Now, see you at the trial, Brigadier.”
Two hours later, the Doctor stood in front of the door of the courtroom. He sighed, as he remembered the last time he was in that room.
“Here we go again…”
“Something’s wrong, Doctor?” Emily asked.
“Nothing, it’s…” said the Doctor, “I only feel a little nervous, that’s all. I hope I didn’t screw up anything.”
Emily gently held the Doctor’s hand. “You won’t. The Brigadier and the others believe in you, and so do I!”
The Doctor smiled, “Well, it’s showtime.”
They stepped inside.
This time, the courtroom was much larger, however. The jury and the public were sitting on the balconies on the wall all around the room, with the desk and a stand for the defendant being at the centre of it. The Doctor looked up and saw A larger balcony with seven seats in it, each with a different sigil.
The Brigadier, Sera and Lute arrived in the room, with the Exorcist giving a death glare to the Time Lord.
After everyone sat down, seven Angels, bigger than everyone in the room, sat on the balcony with the seven sigils.
“Em, who are they?” the Doctor asked, “They look like Lucifer.”
“They’re the Seven Heavenly Virtues, Sera’s superiors.” Emily explained, “Since Sera is a defendant too, they will be the judges for the trial.”
The Virtue in the centre began speaking, his name was Michael, the embodiment of Charity. “We are gathered here for the trial of Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, commander of the Supreme Inquisitors, accused of the murder of the First Man, Adam.” He spoke, “We shall also discuss the matter of the Exterminations conducted in Hell by Adam’s Exorcists, authorised by the second defendant, the High Seraphim of Heaven. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, how do you plead?”
“My Virtue, I admit that I killed Adam, but I assure you that I did for a good reason.” said the Brigadier.
“So, the traitor has confessed.” said Lute, “I don't see any reason to continue the trial, My-”
“Hold it,” the Doctor interrupted, “This trial is far from over, and trust me, it's gonna be harsher than Nuremberg.”
“'s right.”I think it’s wise to start from the beginning,” said Gabriel, a female angel with short curly blonde hair, whose Virtue is Diligence. “Sera, since you were the one who authorised them, could you tell us more about these “Exterminations”?”
“The…” Sera took a deep breath, “The Extermination is a method Adam proposed to me to contain Hell’s Sinner population. We feared for a potential uprising against Heaven.”
The Virtues looked surprised.
“And you surely had proof of this potential “uprising”, didn’t you?” Raphael, a male angel with long dark hair and a goatee who represents Humility, asked.
“W-Well-”
“Of course we had!” Lute interrupted, “My Virtues, Sinners are vile and destructive, they only think causing harm to each other! What else proof do you need? Imagine what would happen if they invaded us, all the pure innocent souls brutally killed…That’s why we must act before they try again!”
“Oh, sure, now you guys are the victims here,” the Doctor snarked, “Not the Sinners who, despite not exactly being the best of Humanity, didn’t even know that they could defend themselves until now, no, the real victim are the hordes of Exorcists who’s been committing a genocide for centuries!”
Lute smirked, “You are the one to talk. Out of everyone in this court, you’re the most sinful here, even more than that serpent!”
The spying globe appeared in the courtroom and began showing the infirmary, with the heavily wounded Exorcists being medicated. Some, like Lute, were missing an arm, some a leg, and the one who got lucky enough to return physically unscathed…Didn’t have the luck to return mentally , too.
Most of the people present in the court were shocked at the images, even the Doctor, who started to feel guilty.
“You okay there, Doctor?” Emily whispered, seeing her friend looking distressed.
Lute continued, “That’s why, if I may suggest, to sentencing the traitorous Brigadier to the Fall from Grace and to imprison the Doc-”
“HOLD IT!” the Doctor slammed his fist on the desk. “Oh, come on now, you aren’t actually believing what she’s saying, right?” He walked to Lute, glaring at her. “If Charlie actually wanted to do something as stupid as invading Heaven and asked me for my help, do you know how many Exorcists would have returned from the battle? Fucking. None. ”
The others gasped in surprise, making the Doctor realise what he just said.
“Wait, did I-? Oh, no matter.” the Doctor thought, he then continued. “You wanna go the route of how I “traumatised” your troops? Cry me a river, it’s not even a quarter of the suffering they inflicted on the Sinners. And don’t pretend to have the moral high ground, because if it weren’t for Lucifer’s demands, you girls would have hunted down the Hellborns too.” the Doctor turned to the Virtues. “And that’s not all, my Virtues! The Exorcists not only committed heinous war crimes down in Hell but have also silenced Exorcists who disagreed with their methods!”
The globe showed Vaggie during her last day as an Exorcist, as she decided to spare a child out of pity and was subsequently “awarded” by Lute, who ripped off her wings and cut off her left eye.
“That’s…Vaggie, isn’t she?” said Emily.
“That's how she lost her eye?” Sir Pentious commented.
“Correct!” said the Doctor, “The young woman you see here is Vaggie, a former Exorcist guilty of the heinous sin of…Showing mercy to a child. Luckily, she was quickly rescued by Her Highness the Princess of Hell, but who tells us that she wasn’t an isolated case, knowing how the First Divorced acts with women?”
The jury discussed it with each other.
“But wait! There’s more!” said the Doctor, “The reason the Brigadier killed Adam was because he was stopping him from murdering the Princess, as the Inquisitors and some of my former companions can confirm. Therefore, I demand that all charges against Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart be dropped and to give a harsh punishment to the lieutenant present here and her direct superior, the High Seraphim of Heaven.”
The jury whispered something to each other.
“We shall take it into consideration, 'Doctor’.” said Michael, “Before we take a break to discuss the verdict, do the defendants have anything to add?”
“No sir/No, I don't.” Sera and the Brigadier said in unison.
“Very well, we will now take a break to decide the verdict,” said Michael.
Everyone left the courtroom.
As they left, the Doctor, Sera, Emily and the Brigadier went to the waiting room. The Time Lotd sighed in relief, “Phew, that was close. How did I go?”
“You were great!” said Emily,
“Yes, you did defend me well,” said the Brigadier, “And I think this is the first time I've ever heard you swear.”
“Sleep with the dogs and you'll wake up with fleas, I guess,” said the Doctor. “I hope I managed to convince the Virtues, that viper trie
Emily hugged the Doctor’s arm, “They will listen to you, the Virtues always make the right choices.”
The Doctor smiled softly, “You've been pretty affectionate to me recently.”
“Oh?” Emily noticed what she was doing and let his arm go. “Sorry, force of habit. I thought you might need some, seeing how stressed you looked,”
As the two talked, the High Seraphim glanced at the Brigadier, who was looking calm.
“You look awfully calm despite the situation.” said Sera,
“Well, I have nothing to worry about, since I did the right thing.” said the Brigadier, “And even I'll accept any verdict, even the worst one.”
Sera looked away, “I envy your calmness, Brigadier…”
Minutes later, it was time for the Verdict.
“The court has decided: For having protected the Princess of Hell and avoided a war with Hell, we declare Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart absolved for every accuse.” said Michael, “And for having authorised such sinful activities against the damned Han souls, we condemn the High Seraphim of Heaven to the Fall from Grace. You will be exiled permanently to Hell and stripped of your authority, the Junior Seraphim will take your position and to monitor their behaviour, the Exorcist Corps will be annexed into the Supreme Inquisitors, with the Brigadier remaining as the commanding officer and the lieutenant being his second-in-command. That will be-”
“W-Wait a minute!” Emily objected, starting to panic “I-I’m not ready to be the High Seraphim! Isn't there a more lenient sentence we could give her?”
“I'm afraid not, Emily.” said Ramiel, a female angel who represents Kindness with long dark hair, blue eyes and a pleasant face. “As much as we feel bad to make her fall like Luci, we have to punish her.”
“If it's necessary, we may appoint you someone that will help you,” said Michael.
“...No, that won't be necessary.” said the Brigadier. “In fact, I have an idea.”
The Virtues looked at the officer, intrigued.
“Speak, then,” said Michael.
“I propose an exchange of verdicts. Since the Junior Seraphim is not ready yet to be the ruler, I volunteer myself to take the Fall in place of Her Holiness.”
Everyone gasped in shock, and Lute smirked smugly.
“WHAT?!” the Doctor, Sir Pentious and Emily said in unison.
“Have you gone mad, Brigadier?!” the Doctor objected as eyes appeared on his chest and wings. “You've earned your place here! Why would you want to waste it for a genocidal fool like Sera?!”
“You don't have to do this!” said Emily, she then turned to the Virtues. “I-I changed my mind! I'm ready-”
“No, Your Holiness, it's fine.” said the Brigadier, “It's my choice, there's no need to.” He put his hat on and saluted the Heavenly Virtues. “My Virtues, I am ready.”
“...So be it,” said Michael, “The Brigadier will face the Fall instead of the High Seraphim, who will still remain in her position. We will decide at a later time who shall be the new commander of the Supreme Inquisitors, that will be all.”
“Well, Doctor,” said the Brigadier, “I am sure we’ll meet again.”
The Doctor looked away, with a defeated expression. “Just…Promise you will go immediately to the Hotel when you arrive, okay?”
“I will.” the Brigadier saluted Emily and Sera and then got escorted away by two Inquisitors.ors.
The Doctor, frustrated, stormed off the courtroom, followed by Emily, Sera and Pentious.
Eventually, they arrived in Sera’s office.
“Doctor, wait!” said Emily.
The Doctor stopped in his tracks. “Where is my TARDIS?”
“Huh…” said Emily, “I don’t know, but, right now you need to stay cal-”
“-I am not fucking calm! At all!” the Doctor shouted, startling the three. “One of my best friends, a good man who deserved his place in Heaven, just got condemned to Hell just to save that genocidal coward over there, and I couldn’t do anything to stop it!” He walked towards Sera as he started looking more avian-like with eyes on his wings, chest and halo , “You're the High Seraphim, you fucking rule this place! Why didn't you do anything to stop him? You could have accepted your punishment like a mature person would do but nooo, you had to be the usual cowardly holier-than-thou bitch and let an innocent man take it for you!”
Sera was completely speechless; she looked away, refusing to look the Doctor in the eyes.
Seeing the older Seraph's reaction, the Doctor calmed down a little bit “And look at you now, you're shaking like a leaf! Just…Why are you scared of me? You're an angel who's probably as old as Time, a random Time Lord who’s not even 1000 years old should be less than an ant to you.”
“...I used to observe your adventures, too.” said Sera, “Every now and then, I joined Emily in seeing you across Time and Space, and I admit it was quite amusing. But…As the Exterminations continued and you kept travelling and fighting Evil wherever you could, I started to feel…Nervous. And the Time War only worsened that feeling.”
She walked towards the Doctor. “You're an unpredictable man, who can always come out of deadly situations unscathed and can defeat with ease powerful foes…I fear you because…I thought that one day it would be my turn to be on the gallows.”
After staying silent for a few minutes…the Doctor laughed. “That sure does wonders for my self-esteem. The daughter of the fucking Devil doesn't fear me but the ruler of Heaven does, way to go, Doctor!”
He sighed, now sounding more exhausted than furious. “Just…What am I doing here? I did what I needed to do, fighting to protect people till the end, my life was over! Why was I brought back to life?! Haven't I suffered enough?!”
He walked to Sera and Emily, “Look at me now! I feel so wrong, I've never felt so uncomfortable in a body I've regenerated into before! My voice sounds old, but I don't look it! Hell, I don't even know if I'm still a Time Lord!”
He fell on his knees and chuckled. “‘Doctor Who’...I don't think I even know the answer anymore.”
Emily approached the Doctor and gave him a hug, wrapping her wings around him like a warm blanket. Sir Pentious and a much more reluctant Sera joined in.
The Doctor stayed silent, weeping a bit. “I…I'm gonna have a walk.” the Doctor broke the hug and left.
The Brigadier stood in front of the Pearly Gates, escorted by two Exorcists. The Inquisitors saluted their former commander, while some of the Doctor's former companions who worked with UNIT in life, like Sarah Jane.
The portal opened on the ground for Hell.
Lute walked in front of the Brigadier, donning an Exorcist uniform with Adam's uniform colour scheme. “It's a pity it has to end like this,” She said, “You are a good commander, but like Vaggie, you are weak.”
“Yes, and I thought you had a heart, considering where we are.” the Brigadier fired back with his usual calmness.
The two saluted each other. Then, Lute ripped the Brigadier’s halo off and pushed him in the portal, which it closed immediately.
“Jamie…Where's the Doctor?” Sarah Jane asked, “Shouldn't he be here?”
“I dunno, Emily told me he needs some time alone.” said Jamie, “He must be pretty upset.”
“Yeah, I imagine…” said Sarah Jane.
The Doctor was in a park, silently observing the other Winners happily chatting with each other, although some of them were a bit nervous in presence of him, due to his Seraph-like appearance.
Then, a Winner angel sat on the bench, right next to the Doctor. She was a spider angel…Who shared a striking resemblance with Angel Dust.
The Doctor recognised the girl. “...Molly?”
Molly turned to the Doctor, “You…Know me?”
“Right, you don't recognise me, I never told you about regenerations,” said the Doctor, “It's me, the Doctor, your brother Anthony's friend. You know, the blonde guy in the rainbow coat.”
“Oh!” Molly seemed to recognise him, “It’s you, Doctor!”
The spider angel hugged him, and she then broke the hug. “I haven’t seen you coming here! When did you die?”
“It’s…It’s a long story - a very long one,” the Doctor chuckled, “How have you been here in Heaven?”
“Oh, good!” said Molly, “It was a bit disorientating at first, though…”
“Yeah, I can imagine.” the Doctor replied, “Especially with the…Disturbing way you arrived here.” He began remembering how Molly died.
It was the Summer of 1938; The Doctor, at the time at his sixth incarnation, had been travelling with Angel Dust, or rather, ‘Anthony’, for two years. Today was a very special day for the gangster: It was his twin sister Molly’s birthday and as a birthday present, he convinced the Doctor to take her for a ride in the TARDIS.
“C’mon, Doc! We’re almost there!” said Anthony.
“Yes, yes, I’m coming, Anthony! Have some patience, “said the Doctor, “You really are excited for this birthday present, aren’t you?”
“Damn right! She’s gonna love all the weird-ass monsters we always encounter, trust me!”
The two entered the buying and went to Molly’s apartment.
“Molls! It’s us!” Anthony knocked on the door…Only to find that the door wasn’t locked. “...Molls?” Anthony repeated, but nobody answered.
“I have a terrible feeling about this,” the Doctor stormed into the apartment, followed by Anthony, they looked in every room.
That was until the Doctor heard Anthony screaming.
“Anthony, what’s wron-” the Doctor reached his friend and saw the reason of the scream.
Molly was there…Lifeless on her bed, wearing nothing but a nightgown, wet with her own blood. “Oh dear Lord…” He quickly inspected the crime scene. Molly got stabbed at lest twice and then left to bleed to death. By looking at how tattered her gown was, she must have tried to fight back.
“Molly!” Anthony rushed to check on her. He desperately shook her in a vain attempt to wake her up. “Molly, it’s me! Wake up!” As he still received no answer tears began flowing down his face, “PER L’AMOR DI DIO, SVEGLIATI!”
“Y-Yeah, don’t remind me…” Molly glanced away, “But I’m much better than now!”
“Happy to hear it.”
“I saw you on the TV when you sang that song,” said Molly, “The lyrics were a bit…Shocking but hey! It was pretty catchy!”
“Well thanks, I…Took some lessons with some…Friends.”
The Doctor started remembering his final night at the Hazbin Hotel before the battle, deciding to have a drink with the others.
He rarely drinks alcohol, he was crazy enough when sober, but this time he wanted to pay a little visit to the demon in a bottle.
And…It was fun, really fun. With that group of misfits, he felt right at home.
Yes… Home. Perhaps, this is what he wanted? Having fun with his friends and helping people, and there are plenty of souls down in Hell who could use some help. And besides, what's the point of having a Doctor in Heaven?
The Doctor’s eyes glowed with determination. “Say, Molly, if you could see Anthony once again, what would you say to him?”
“Hmm? Well, I'd tell him this.” Molly whispered something in his ear. After that, he stood up.
“Where are you going?” Molly asked.
“To tell him!” He left, doing the one thing h's very good at: Running away and never looking back.
He arrived at the palace, where he encountered Emily, Sera and Pentious.
“There you are, Doc-”
“Where's my TARDIS?” said the Doctor.
“It’s near the elevator for the Embassy, why?” Sera asked.
“Good, because I'm LEAVING!” He ran off towards the elevator, followed by the two Seraphim and the serpent.
“Wait! But why?” Emily asked.
“Because to be fair, this place is boring!” said the Doctor, “It’s all so peaceful, and sweet, and they give you cute puppies for free! No, ”
The Doctor took his key from his pocket and opened the door of the TARDIS. “Are you coming, Pentious?”
“Well…” said Sir Pentious, “As much as I’d love to see our friends again, I think I will stay here. Charlie worked so hard to redeem me, I don’t want her efforts to be wasted.”
“Fair enough,” said the Doctor, “But before I leave, I need you to give Lute a message.”
Later, Lute entered Sera’s office, where the High Seraphim was sitting behind her desk.
“Ah, lieutenant. I didn’t summon you here, how can I help you?”
“Where is the Doctor? He’s needed for an interrogation,” said Lute,
“The Doctor is no longer here, and he will not return soon.” Sera stood up, walked towards Lute and handed her a paper. “However, he left a message for you.”
Lute read the message:
“Try to lay a finger on Sir Pentious or any of my friends in Heaven and I’m gonna make you wish you died with Adam. ”
“And of course, Lieutenant…” She glared at her, eyes appearing on her wing. “The same goes for me.” She left.
“...Yes, Your Holiness,” said Lute.
Meanwhile, at the newly reconstructed Hazbin Hotel, someone knocked on the door. Vaggie went to open the door and found not other than the Brigadier. His appearance was changing, his wings were getting darker and horns were popping out from his forehead.
“Brigadier!” Vaggie instinctively saluted him.
“Relax, soldier.” said the Brigadier. “May I come in?”
“S-Sure!” Vaggie let him in.
As he entered, the other residents of the Hotel immediately noticed him.
“Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart! What are you doing here?” Charlie asked, “And why do you have horns?”
“Well, Your Highness, let’s say that I’ve met the same fate as your father and your partner here.” said the Brigadier, “However, I have some good news.”
“What good news?” Lucifer asked.
“Congratulations, Your Highness, you were right. Sir Pentious was redeemed and the Doctor survived the battle.” said the Brigadier.
The residents gasped, completely flabbergasted by the revelation.
“I…I was right…I was right!” Charlie grew more and more excited, so much so that she started shaking Vaggie like a pair of maracas. “Vaggie, I was right! I WAS RIGHT!”
“Yeah, we heard, calm down, hun.” Vaggie chuckled, stopping her girlfriend, “I knew you could do this.”
“My, isn’t that a delightful surprise?” Alastor commented.
Angel burst out laughing, happy that the Doctor was alive. “I fuckin’ knew it! That crazy son of a bitch couldn’t just die so easily!”
“Maybe we actually have a chance, then,” said Husk.
“Wait,” said Vaggie, “If Pentious is in Heaven and the Doctor is alive…Where is he?”
“Probably wanderin’ through Hell with his TARDIS, knowing him.” said Angel, “Doc loves a good adventure.”
“Yes, I agree,” said the Brigadier, “Well, I hope you don’t mind if I stay at your hotel, Your Highness.”
“Oh, not at all! Besides, you helped us against Adam, so it’s the least we can do.” said Charlie, “And please, call me Charlie.”
“Very well, Charlie,” said the Brigadier.
So, just like that, the Hazbin Hotel received a new resident, but as the Hazbin crew celebrated their new guest, the TARDIS was flying through the Time Vortex, almost surfing on it, making a wheezing, groaning noise.
Forces of evil, beware! The Doctor is descending to Hell!
Chapter 2: The Doctor and the Imp
Summary:
When the Doctor meets an Imp hitwoman in the Wrath Ring sent to kill a mob boss, things sure do happen.
Chapter Text
In Hell, other than the Pride Ring, the territory under the direct control of Lucifer and where the Sinners are confined, there 6 other rings, each different to the other with a dominant hellborn species present there.
The ring right under the Pride one is the Wrath Ring, ruled by the Deadly Sin of Wrath, Satan. Among all of them, this ring is the most ruthless one in terms of living conditions with its rural area, several beasts and orange sky, making it look like a hellish Wild West.
Three years before the Doctor’s arrival at the Hazbin Hotel, in the Wrath Ring two groups of gangsters, one of Imps, the other of shark-like Demons, were discussing some affairs in an abandoned warehouse, unaware that somebody else was inside, observing them from the shadows. It was a short female Imp with red skin, black eyes with yellow sclera and long thick eyelashes, red skin very long dark hair tied into a ponytail and a small beauty mark under her right eye. She was wearing a black bodysuit to stay completely undetected. The Imp held her knife, ready to cause a bloodbath…Until she heard a weird nose. She turned around and saw a male Imp with very curly white hair, black-and-white horns and thick eyebrows, wearing a black Crombie coat with blue lining, and matching black trousers and shoes…Eating sushi.
The male Imp glanced at her and waved.
“What the…” Unfortunately, the hitwoman accidentally pushed a box, which made a noise and alarmed the gangsters.
“The fuck was that?!” One of them said,
“Someone followed us, kills that fucker!” said another one.
But before they could pull out their weapons, the hitwoman jumped from her hiding spot and began slaughtering the gangsters. Stabbing them in the head, cutting their throats, stealing their rifles, shooting at them and so on.
The Imp with thick eyebrows observed the scene, both horrified and impressed by the hitwoman. He noticed one of the gangsters who was going to shoot at the hitwoman and in a rush he stunned him using his sonic screwdriver, attracting the hitwoman’s attention who killed him swiftly.
“C'mon, they're in the warehouse!” The two heard more gangsters coming inside.
“Shit…” The hitwoman said under her breath.
“Psst! Follow me!” said the other Imp, climbing to the roof, followed by the hitwoman.
As the gangsters arrived, they found several corpses around the room.
“Where the fuck did they go?” One of them asked.
“Come on, let's keep searching. They couldn't have gone that far.” Another one said.
Meanwhile, the two Imps saw the gangsters leaving the warehouse.
“Alright, they left.” said the male Imp, “We are out of danger now-”
The hitwoman pinned him down, pointing her knife at his throat.
“...Or maybe not.”
“Who are ya?!” The hitwoman spoke with a Southern accent, “Who do ya work for?!”
“A Southern US accent? I didn't know I went down to Georgia.” said the Imp.
“Answer me or I'm gonna turn you into a fuckin' blood fountain!” The hitwoman threatened.
“Okay, okay! No need to get violent,” said the Imp, “I'm the Doctor, and I work for no one.”
“Imps don't work for themselves, asshole!” said the hitwoman, “And ‘Doctor’ ain't a name! Doctor Who?!”
“You just said it,” said the Doctor, “And I'm not an Imp - Look, I can explain everything if you please just let me go, we have to get away from here and I know a safe place.”
The Imp thought about it for a few minutes. On the one hand, she should just kill the Doctor right here and leave…But on the other hand, she really wanted to satisfy her curiosity about the Time Lord.
“...Fine, I'll humour ya,” She let him go, “But one wrong move and you're dead meat, got it?!”
“Thanks,” said the Doctor, “Say, what's your name?”
“...Millie.” Millie introduced herself.
“Nice to meet you, Millie!” said the Doctor, “Now, off we go!”
The two jumped from roof to roof, trying not to get detected by the patrolling gangsters.
After a while, the two reached the TARDIS.
“There it is!” said the Doctor, as he started looking for the key in his pocket.
“What’s with the box?” Millie asked.
“You’ll see,” said the Doctor, “And trust me, your mind will be blown!” He stepped inside.
“Eh, doubt that,” said Millie, “Can’t see why a box should be so-”
As Millie stepped inside the TARDIS, she immediately went silent from the shock.
The interior of the ship was much, much bigger than the tiny blue box from the outside. The console room was a mix of white and gold, with a large column at the centre with golden details all around where the console was located. Around it, there were a few things that made the room cosier, like the armchair, the bookshelves, the table with the gramophone, and the fireplace.
“Welcome to the TARDIS,” said the Doctor, “Short for ‘Time And Relative Dimension In Space’.”
“Oh my Satan…” said Millie, she quickly checked outside the TARDIS and then went back. “It’s bigger on the inside!”
“Oh, I love it when they say it.” said the Doctor. He then turned to the console and started setting something. “Now, off we go!”
The Doctor pulled down the lever and the TARDIS dematerialised, making a wheezing, groaning noise and causing mild turbulence.
“So, Millie, I suppose you’re an assassin.” He said, “Well, I have some-Millie? Are you listening?”
Millie wasn’t listening to the Doctor, still both shocked and in awe with the TARDIS. She snapped out of it. “What?”
A young-looking Imp gangster with long white hair and wearing a dark suit and a hat appeared on one of the screens on the console. “Is this your target?” the Doctor asked.
“Huh…Yeah.” said Millie, “How did ya-”
“Well, I’m looking for him, too.” said the Doctor, “Ulysses, a crime lord who has businesses in the Wrath and Pride Rings. Has your client told you any extra information that might be useful to us?”
“Nah, not really.” said Millie, “They only told me that he does business with one of the Overlords in Pride.”
“That’s it?” the Doctor asked.
“That’s it, I'm not supposed to ask questions, just kill what I'm ordered to,” said Millie.
“What kind of logic is this?” the Doctor asked. “You’re your own person, not some mindless puppet at the service of some smug aristocrat!”
“That's how it works here, Doc,” said Millie. “We Imps are nothin' more than dumb muscle for the powerful.”
“Well, not here.” said the Doctor, “Here in the TARDIS, nobody is above the other. Now, go clean yourself off that blood we'll discuss what to do,”
“‘We’?” Millie repeated, “Ya actually want to help me with this, Doc?”
“Of course,” the Doctor walked towards the short Imp. “You want to kill him and I want to talk to him, if we work together the task will get a lot easier to do. And don’t worry, you’ll get all the money, I don't need it. So, what do you say?”
“...Eh, why not?” Millie slightly smirked, “I’ve never had a partner for a job.”
“Well, now you do!” the Doctor smirked.
The two shook hands.
Later, Millie got changed into her usual outfit for the job: a burgundy leather jacket-like crop top with gold-like cuffs, gold-yellow studs on the popped-collar, two-toned purple jeans with tassels and a baldric strap around her left thigh where her knife was, and small black heeled boots with red toes. As she walked back to the console room, she glanced at a photo on the wall showing 12 people with the 9th figure being blanked out of the picture and the last figure, wearing a purple suit and a bowtie, glancing at the camera.
“Who are these people?” She wondered, “
“Sorry for the wait, Doc-” As Millie returned to the console room, her eyes went wide from the shock at the sight of the Doctor, now in his “Seraph” form.
The Doctor turned to the Imp and seeing her bewildered expression, he glanced at himself and then chuckled awkwardly. “Huh…Be not afraid?”
“You’re…You’re an angel?!” said Millie.
“Yes…But no. Well, I think so.” said the Doctor, “I'm…Not exactly sure anymore. I hope you don’t mind.”
Then, Millie chuckled, surprising the Doctor. “You're so full of surprises, aren't ya?”
The Doctor awkwardly chuckled again. “I suppose I am.”
Millie approached the Doctor and gave a closer look at his laurel crown-like halo. “Ya look...Different from the others that go to Pride,” she said. She has never seen an Angel before, except for some still of the Exorcists on TV - And they only go to Pentagram City, and as fearless as the hitwoman was, she wouldn’t go to that anarchist shithole not even if Lucifer himself ordered it. “Their halos are black and they only have two wings.”
“Oh, right, Hell’s population has probably never seen any angel that wasn’t an Exorcist.” the Doctor thought, glancing at his halo. “Well…Let’s say I look like a high-rank angel, but I'm not one.” Then, he pressed some buttons and a blueprint appeared on a screen. “Now, while you were away, I prepared the plan to infiltrate Ulysses’mansion!”
Later, at the mansion, a truck arrived at the gates, patrolled by two Imp mobsters.
One of them stopped the truck and went to talk with the driver.
The driver was no other than the Doctor, donning his Imp disguise while wearing a pair of sunglasses, a hat and a fake beard.
“We're here to deliver this week's order.” He said, faking an American accent. He handed them a psychic paper, a special white blank paper capable of making people see whatever the Time Lord wanted them to see, in this case, an authorisation signed by Ulysses.
The Imp guard nodded. “Aight, we'll check the load real quick.” They opened the trailer and saw that it was full of packages of cocaine.
“You can go, same place as usual.” He said.
The Doctor drove the truck inside in and parked it near the warehouse.
Two other Imps went to open the trailer, but the instant they did it, Millie jumped out from her hiding and slashed the workers' throats.
The Doctor got out of the truck and took off his fake beard, sunglasses and hat. “Was killing them really necessary? They were just workers!”
“I leave no witnesses when I'm on the job,” Millie shrugged. She then glanced at the packages. “Can't believe it actually worked, all it took was fillin' these packages with flour.”
“Yeah, looks like they're not paid enough to check properly. Now, let's hide the bodies before someone comes in.”
The Doctor and Millie put the two dead bodies and closed the trailer, but not before stealing their uniforms, so they stay undetected for the moment.
After leaving the warehouse, the two entered the main mansion via the service door.
“Alright, let’s split up.” the Doctor whispered, “You go upstairs, Ulysses should be there. I’ll go to see if I can find some info I need. Can you do it on your own?
“Don’t worry, Doc, you go what ya need to do,” a murderous grin appeared on Millie’s face, “I’ll have sum fun with them.”
She went upstairs, as the Doctor cautiously inspected the other rooms. Dodging several gangsters walking around, he eventually found a locked room, which he swiftly unlocked with his sonic screwdriver.
The room was filled with drawer units, some of them being pretty dusty.
“Bingo.” the Doctor grinned, “Let’s see if it’s here…”
After some good minutes of searching loads of documents, the Doctor found the right one: A transaction contract signed with Ulysses’ organisation stamp…And the VoxTek logo. Plus, among the people who signed the contract, there was someone named “H. Saxon”.
The Doctor sighed in annoyance. “He really likes that alias, doesn’t he?”
He hid the document in his jacket and left. “Now, let’s see how’s Millie-”
As he opened the door, several gangsters pointed their rifles at the Doctor.
“...Nope.” He closed the door and left the room from the window right as the gangsters broke in.
“There! He’s escaping from the window!” said one of them.
The Doctor climbed quickly from the cornice to the roof trying to chase off the mobsters and jumped into the chimney.
But unfortunately, as he stood up, coughing like mad and dusting off the smoke from his coat, the Doctor found himself surrounded by the gangsters.
He sighed, raising his hands in the air. “I hope Millie had better luck…”
The Doctor got knocked out.
He woke up hanging upside-down from a metal bar, with a vat of acid under him.
“They caught you too, huh?” Millie spoke, who was in the same predicament.
They heard laughter. Emerging from the shadows, a young male Imp with short white hair dressed in a black suit appeared, puffing on a pipe.
“Well, well, well…” He spoke, “Look what we’ve got here: The most notorious assassin in all of Wrath, right here at my house.” He glanced at the Doctor, “And you brought a friend with you! I thought you worked alone.”
“She wanted to try something different.” said the Doctor, “Ulysses, I presume. I heard a few things about you, like that you do business with some of the Overlords.”
“Someone’s done the homework, huh?” Ulysses chuckled. “You see, no Demon who doesn’t want to risk getting killed dares to go to Pentagram City, the Sinners do nothing but cause chaos, and with the Overlords practically having a monopoly, it’s near impossible to extend some influence in the city…Unless you ask them directly.”
“So, that’s it? Did you become a puppet of an Overlord?” Millie taunted.
Ulysses laughed, not feeling touched by the assassin’s comment. “Not at all, it’s not like he can take my soul. We’re partners, for I have some materials that he really needs…”
“What, exactly?” said the Doctor, “And who? Were they used to be a rival of the Radio Demon?”
“As if I'm gonna tell it to ya.” said Ulysses, “But, since I’m feeling generous today, I want to make a deal with you two: Tell me who sent you here, and I will spare your lives.”
Millie scoffed. “As if! I ain’t no snitch, and if I say you’ll die today…”
The Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver without getting noticed.
“...You’ll FUCKIN’ DIE TODAY!”
The Doctor shut down the lights with his sonic screwdriver, and chaos ensued.
“Who turned off the lights?!” said one of Ulysses’ subordinates.
“I can’t see shit!” said another one.
“No time for this, SHOOT THOSE BASTARDS!” Ulysses ordered.
The gangsters shot at where the Doctor and Millie were supposed to be until they emptied their ammo.
But as the lights went back on, neither the Time Lord nor the Imp were there.
“Where the fuck are they?!” Ulysses looked around.
“Here!”
The gangsters looked up and saw the Doctor, now in his Angel form, carrying Millie.
“What the?!”
“Is that an Angel?!” said another gangster.
“Well, I got the information I needed, so…Your turn to have fun, Millie.” said the Doctor.
“With pleasure, Doc!”
Millie jumped from the Time Lord’s arms and began her second bloodshed of the day, one by one, the gangster fell as they tried to shoot at the assassin. The Doctor, still not exactly used to using his wings, limited himself to defend himself and Millie creating sonic barriers.
During the massacre, Ulysses escaped from the building, but the two noticed him and began the chase.
But unfortunately for the mob boss, the two were much faster, and eventually they cornered him on the roof.
Ulysses tried to pull out his gun, but Millie jumped at him and disarmed him.
She pointed the gun at his forehead and coldly pulled the trigger.
All of a sudden, Millie felt exhausted, the adrenaline was leaving her body.
The Doctor grabbed her hand, helping her stand.
“Come on now,” He said, “Let’s get back to the TARDIS.” He spread his wings. “Wanna take the scenic route?”
Millie smirked, “Sounds fun, let’s do that!”
The Doctor took flight, arriving well over the clouds. Millie admired the view of the entire city from the sky,
“Oh my Satan…” She said, “This is incredible! I’ve never been this high!”
“You tell me! I’m flying without using the TARDIS, this is fantastic !” said the Doctor.
The two had some fun as the Doctor flew, sometimes faster, sometimes slower, and sometimes even doing some stunts.
Eventually, the Doctor and Millie arrived in the TARDIS and went inside.
“Alright,” he said, “off we go.” He pulled the lever and the blue box dematerialised.
It then materialised near a bar, as per Millie’s request.
“We’ve arrived,” said the Doctor.
“Thanks for the ride and for helpin’ me back there, Doc,” said Millie.
“Wait!” said the Doctor, “Before you go, I’d like to ask you something.”
“Sure, what is it?” Millie asked.
“Well, the TARDIS is big and I can get lonely pretty easily, so maybe you could…Stay with me instead?” the Doctor proposed sheepishly. “No bills to pay, no risk of getting killed - Most of the time, at least - Just wandering together through Hell and all of Time and Space! What do you think?”
Millie remained silent, thinking about the Doctor’s proposal, and her answer was:
“Nah, I’m good. Look, Doc, All of this was fun...But I'd rather take the long way 'round to do things. You get me?"
“O-Oh!” the Doctor was surprised, it wasn’t that common for his offer to get turned down. “I see…”
“That doesn’t mean it’s the last time we meet.” Millie smiled, “I’ll see ya around, Doc.”
“Yeah, see you around. And Millie?” said the Doctor. “You’re much better than you think you are, you’re not some dumb henchwoman only good at killing. You have a lot of potential, and I’m sure I’m not the only one in Hell who thinks that, remember that.”
“I’ll…I’ll do.” Millie left.
As the TARDIS dematerialised, Millie entered the bar and ordered a beer.
As she drank, an Imp dressed like a biker sat next to her. He was tall, but slightly shorter than the Doctor’s Imp disguise, bald and had white burn marks of various sizes all over his body, with a big one on the right side of his face. Another particular trait was the heart-shaped skull symbol right on the centre of his forehead.
“So, you’re the bitch that took our hit?” He spoke, and tension was slowly building between them.
“What, lookin’ for payback?” said Millie, ready to throw hands.
“Oh, no no no no, the opposite actually.” said the Imp. “The name’s Blitzo, the ‘O’ is silent. I’m looking for someone with potential for my company. Would you be interested?”
Millie remembered what the Doctor just told her a minute ago.
“ You have a lot of potential, and I’m sure I’m not the only one in Hell who thinks that.”
She smirked confidently as he took a sip of her beer. "...I'm listenin'.”

Chapter Text
The Gluttony Ring: A place located right under the Wrath Ring known for its sunny weather and the several restaurants all over the cities. This section of Hell is ruled by the embodiment of the Sin of Gluttony: Queen Beelzebub.
The TARDIS materialised near a white-and-gold mansion with bee-like motives.
“Alright, I should have landed in the Gluttony Ring, a few weeks after my “death” at the Hazbin Hotel.” the Doctor thought. “Let’s see what’s out there.”
He activated the scanner and saw that right at the mansion he was nearby they were holding a massive party.
“A party, huh?” the Doctor thought, “I guess I could use some relax. Most of the people here are Hellhounds, so I should disguise myself as one.
The Doctor snapped his fingers and turned into a Hellhound with grey fur and white eyes with red sclera.
He looked at himself in the mirror. “Huh, not bad, though these eyebrows make me look constantly serious.”
He put on his Crombie coat, this time a black velvet one with crimson lining, and left the TARDIS.
As he emerged from the blue box, the Doctor looking around the entrance of the mansion, and saw some drunk Hellhounds who were vomiting in the bushes.
“...Well, this is the Gluttony Ring.” He walked to the mansion.
As he reached the mansion, the Doctor stopped in his tracks as he heard someone crying.
He glanced behind his back and saw a wolf-like Hellhound girl with white-and-grey fur and long voluminous silver hair and was wearing a red dress with a pentagram on it.
The Doctor, being the gentleman he is, sat down next to her and offered her a handkerchief. “I think you might need it.” He said.
The Hellhound glanced at the Doctor, confused that a stranger was doing this. But despite that, she took the handkerchief and wiped off her tears.
“Why did you do this?” She asked.
“Do I need a reason to be kind?” the Doctor replied. He glanced at the Hellhound’s hand, which was holding her smartphone. The photo showed a very tall and muscular male Hellhound with dark grey fur, a blind left eye, and a scar across it.
“Oh…So, you’ve got a heartbreak.” said the Doctor.
Considering where he was and the fact he was a complete stranger, the traveller expected a rude response from the Hellhound, like “None of your fucking business” or something similar, but much to his surprise…
“...Something like that.” She said. “The guy I had a crush on was already taken…And it’s fucking impossible for me to compete.”
“Oh, don’t be so sad.” said the Doctor, “You’re a beautiful girl, I’m sure you will find another guy.”
The Hellhound blushed slightly at the Doctor’s compliment, but then shook her head. “You make it sound easy, all the guys I find are just some random creeps-Wait, why the fuck am I saying this to a stranger?”
“I have this effect on people,” said the Doctor. He stood up and offered her his hand. “I’m the Doctor. I…Don’t usually go to parties like this, and I wouldn’t mind some company. What do you think?”
The Hellhound took the Doctor’s hand. “I’m Loona…And I guess I could stick around with you. It’s my first time here at this party, too…”
“Well, Loona, let’s try it out together, then.” said the Doctor. He glanced at Loona’s outfit. “Nice dress, by the way, the red suits you.”
Loona blushed again, her tail waggled gently. “O-Oh, thank you! Y-you're great too-Your suit, I mean! You look fancy in it…”
The Doctor couldn't help but chuckle softly. “You're not used to compliments, are you, Loona?”
Then, a black van with the acronym “I.M.P.” painted on it arrived abruptly at the mansion, parking right next to the Doctor and Loona.
The window rolled over, revealing Blitzo.
“Hey, Loonie, how you doin'?” He asked, his tone sounded both tired and concerned. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I'm…I'm fine now,” said Loona.
“Who’s the fellow?” the Doctor asked.
“I'm her father .” Blitzo glared at the Doctor.
“ Adoptive father , ” Loona corrected, “I…I wanted to go home, but I changed my mind.”
“You sure, Loony?” Blitzo asked, “It’s been a long night, especially for me.”
“Oh, c’mon, I want to give it another try!” said Loona. She made puppy dog eyes to her father. “Pleeeeease?”
Blitzo sighed. “Fine…I guess I can stop for a drink. And you better try not to do anything funny to my Loonie, Eyebrows!”
“I…Won’t?” said the Doctor, confused by the Imp’s overprotectiveness.
They entered the mansion. Blitzo had already left to go drink something, leaving Loona alone with the Doctor.
The Hellhound in Loona’s photo, Vortex, approached the two.
“Loona!” He said, “I thought you were leaving.”
“Yeah, well…I changed my mind,” said Loona, glancing at the Doctor.
Then, a very tall fox-like Demon with insect wings flew to the trio. She stuck out from the rest of the partygoers, especially with her hair and tail seemingly made out of lava lamp fluid and her waist also looking like a lava lamp. Other than that, she had two pairs of arms and wore a black choker around her neck, a low-cut black bra under a small, off-the-shoulder pink crop top with a heart-shaped cutout, and light pink shorts.
“Yo, Loona!” She said as she landed. “Welcome ba-” She noticed the Doctor, a soft smirk appeared on her face. “Heeeey! Who’s your friend? He looks dapper.”
The Doctor glanced at Loona, she seemed…Annoyed, for some reason.
“I’m the Doctor,” The Time Lord introduced himself, handshaking first Vortex and then the fox Demon. “I just arrived here at the party.”
“Well, nice to meet you, Doc, I’m Vortex.” Vortex introduced himself, “This is my girlfriend, Bee.”
The Doctor connected the dots. “As in, Bee-lzebub?”
“Yup!” said Bee, “The motherfuckin’ Queen of Gluttony, at your service! Welcome to the party, Doc!”
So, the party continued. The Doctor, not in the mood to indulge in Gluttony, limited himself to chatting with Loona, who awkwardly attempted to get to know the Doctor better.
“Soooo…” Loona said, holding her drink. “What do you do for a living?”
“Nothing,” said the Doctor, “I’m a traveller. Been to several places, several times. What about you?”
“O-Oh, nothing much, I…Work as a secretary for my dad’s company,” said Loona. “Boring, I know.”
“Not at all! It seems to be a rare sight a company owned by an Imp.” said the Doctor, remembering Hell’s hierarchy. “Or Hellhounds being treated decently.”
“Yeah…I guess you’re right,” said Loona, taking a sip of her beer. “You know…I wasn’t sure about going to Bee’s party at first, and with…What happened, I thought it would be a really shitty night. I’m glad I was wrong.” Loona smiled.
“Yeah, I’m happy I’ve met you here too, Loona.” said the Doctor.
Loona’s tail wagged.
Bee arrived. “Hey, Loona! if I steal the Doc from you for a bit?”
“Well, yea-”
“Great! I’ll be real quick. Come with me, Doc!”
“I’ll be back, don’t worry.” the Doctor followed Bee upstairs.
The two went to Beelzebub’s bedroom. Just like the rest of her house, it was a pretty large room, with a great view of the rest of the city thanks to the balcony.
“Nice room you’ve got,” the Doctor commented. He turned to the Deadly Sin. “So, what did you want to talk about, Beelzebub?”
“Just ‘Bee’ is fine, Doc.” said Bee, “You know…There is something I wanted to ask you.”
“O…Kay.” the Doctor sat on the bed.
“I can taste other people’s vibes and, despite lookin’ so calm, your vibe is…Sour. Like of someone who didn’t have a good day in years.”
The Doctor gave him a half-hearted smile. “Heh…That’s one way to put it, for sure.”
Bee sat next to her and put one of her hands on the Time Lord’s shoulder. “Do ya wanna talk about it? ”
“It’s a long story, an incredibly long one. It might just bore you.”
“Don’t worry, I love stories!” Bee smiled, waiting for the Doctor to start telling like a child waiting for their bedtime story.
However, the Doctor remained silent. Even if he wanted to say something, what was he supposed to tell Beelzebub? Where would he begin, from when he had to delete Donna’s memories of him to save her life? From when he basically traumatised Martha and her family? Or when Rose got trapped in an alternate universe because of him? And that’s just after he killed all the Time Lords during the Time War!
Bee’s smile faltered at the Doctor’s ever-increasing discomfort, so she materialised some cotton candy out of thin air and offered it to the Time Lord. “Y’know what? Maybe it’s not my business. Whatever shit you faced before, I will make you forget it here. For this night, at least.”
The Doctor smirked, “Heh, sounds fine to me.”
“Great!” Bee stood up, her lower pair of hands resting on her shapely hips. “Come on now, there’s a party waitin’ for us, and I don’t wanna make Loona think we’re fuckin’ or something. Not that I’d mind doing ya, though.”
The Doctor blushed and looked at the very much amused embodiment of Gluttony bewildered. “E-excuse me?!”
Bee laughed, “Relax, Doc! I’m just joking….Maybe.”
“Anyway…” the Doctor regained some composure. “I’d really need a drink right now.”
“Well, you’re in the right place, Doc! Have you tried my Beelzejuice yet?” Bee asked.
“Beetlejuice?” said the Doctor. Then, he noticed something odd outside the window…Like a small light.
“Not, Beelzejuice!” Bee repeated, “It's my very own mead! It’ll fuck you up properly for this night-”
“GET DOWN!”
The Doctor pushed down Bee…Right before a bullet broke the window, hitting the bed.
“What the fuck?!” Bee shouted.
The Doctor, without moving from there, scanned the bullet with his sonic screwdriver.
“An angelic bullet…I’ll go chase them, you make sure nobody got hurt at the party.” The doctor jumped on the roof and began the chase. Beelzebub looked at the bullet and clenched her fists.
Meanwhile, the Doctor chased the sniper from the roof. Luckily, thanks to his Hellhound disguise, he was much more agile and faster than normal.
The chase continued through the dense forest behind Bee’s mansion.
“I have to find a way to block him, but how?!” the Doctor thought, looking around the forest. “Think, Doctor, think…”
He then pulled out his sonic screwdriver, looked at the trees the figure was approaching, pointed at the tree and…
BZZZZZTT!
The tree fell down, blocking the path.
“...Wow.” said the Doctor, completely flabbergasted. “I guess it does wood now.”
Then, Beelzebub arrived in high speed and transformed in her giant, full demon form. She grabbed the culprit. “You sure have some guts, trying to harm one of my guests!” Her voice roared, “ YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT, SOURCREAM! ”
But before the Doctor or Bee could do anything, the two heard a cracking noise.
“No!” the Doctor manifested his Seraph wings and reached the demon, but it was too late.
“Shit…” the Time Lord muttered, “He poisoned himself, he probably had a capsule hidden in his mouth.”
Bee returned to her normal form, not commenting on the Doctor’s angelic wings, and noticed a tattoo on the sniper’s arm, depicting a rotten apple with a phrase in Latin under it:
" 'M.O.M.'..." She read.
"An acronym..." The Doctor then realised that he was using his wings in front of the Deadly Sin. “O-Oh! I can…I can explain it-”
“No need to,” said Bee, “Besides, I’m flattered more than anything, never thought an Angel would want to come to one of my humble parties.”
“You have an incredibly odd sense of humbleness, you know?” the Doctor raised an eyebrow.
Bee laughed, “I guess I do.” She looked back at the corpse, “So, what’s the plan now?”
“You go back to the party, I’ll leave now.” said the Doctor, “Sorry for…Having ruined the ‘vibe’.”
“What? No, no, no! You didn’t ruin it at all! You improved it if anything!” said Bee, “Let’s go now, surely you want to say goodbye to Loona before leaving.”
And so the two returned to the mansion. Later, the Doctor left the party, but not without Bee gifting him a crate of Beelzejuice.
As he put the crate inside the TARDIS, the Doctor turned and saw Loona coming at him.
“H-Hi, Doctor.” said Loona, “You’re…Leaving, too?”
“Yeah, I have some…important stuff to do.” said the Doctor.
“Same,” Loona chuckled nervously, “My da-I mean, Blitzo drank a little too much so, I’m bringing him home. I guess I’ll see you around…”
“Mind giving me your phone for a second?” the Doctor asked.
Loona’s tail wagged gently as she handed her phone to the Doctor. The Time Lord used his sonic screwdriver on it and then inserted his number. “Alright, now you can call me wherever and whenever I am. See you around, Loona.”
The Doctor stepped inside the box and the TARDIS dematerialised.
The Hellhound was both confused and amazed by what she just saw.
She looked back at the contact “The Doctor” saved on her phone and smiled as her tail wagged.
Meanwhile, as the TARDIS levitated in the Time Vortex, the Doctor wondered about the meaning of the tattoo.
“R.O.M…I wonder what it means.” He thought, “Whatever it means, somebody wanted Beelzebub dead…Or maybe me. I should be careful in the future.” He took a sip of Beelzejuice. “Hmm, not bad.”
The TARDIS gained speed, heading towards its next destination.

Chapter 4: Domain of the Von Eldritch
Summary:
When the Doctor goes to the Envy Ring and becomes the pet of Helsa Von Eldritch, things sure do happen.
Chapter Text
Among the 7 Rings of Hell, the Envy Ring had a particular structure of power. In fact, this Ring was not only ruled by the two-headed embodiment of Envy, the Leviathan, but also by her right-hand man Frederick Von Eldritch, the “Duke of Envy”.
The TARDIS materialised in one of the main cities of the Envy Ring, with its gorgeous purple sky and its splendid beach.
“Wow, what a view.” the Doctor thought, observing the outside via the scanner. “This Ring seems more peaceful than the others, it looks like a normal city on Earth.”
He looked at himself in the mirror, “Which disguise should I use? Imp? Hellhound…Nah, let’s go with the Hellhound one, I looked pretty cool.” The Doctor snapped his fingers, transforming into his Hellhound disguise and stepped out of the TARDIS.
Meanwhile, in a limousine, a girl was scrolling on her phone with an incredibly annoyed expression.
She was incredibly attractive, with grey skin, bright green eyes with slit pupils and dark green sclerae and long white hair with dark spots underneath and was wearing a white shirt, a black pencil skirt and fishnets with black high-heels. This Demon was no other than Lady Helsa Von Eldritch, youngest daughter of the Duke of Envy, and needless, she was pissed.
Why? Because she has been stalking the Sinstagram of the person she despises the most in all of Hell: Charlie Morningstar.
“You shouldn’t keep staring at Charlie’s profile, sis.” Helsa’s brother, a tall demon with dark bluish grey skin, neon-green eyes with slit pupils and red sclerae and short slicked-back dark green hair, and wearing a green-striped suit advised.
“Oh, shut up, Seviathan!” Helsa hissed, “Since her and her group of Sinner scum chased off those Exorcists weeks ago, people just won’t stop talking about her on socials!”
“Well, it’s the first time the Exorcists got defeated during an Extermination, and they were at Charlie’s hotel.” said Seviathan.
“Why the fuck are you defending that loser?!” said Helsa, “She dumped you, remember?”
“For the last time, she didn’t dump-”
“Yeah, whatever!” Helsa interrupted her brother as she put on her hot pink coat with a bright green furry collar. “Come on, we’ve arrived.” The driver opened the door for the two nobes.
Seviathan put on his top hat and left the car. “Remind me why did I have to come with you?”
“Because I need another one's opinion on the clothes I'll buy, of course.” Helsa grinned, revealing her pointy teeth.
Seviathan sighed, “You mean ‘Mindlessly praising you while you try any outfit'...” He said under his breath as he followed his younger sister.
As the Doctor explored the city, he started to feel…Uncomfortable as the locals kept giving him some unpleasant looks, especially the more wealthy-looking Demons.
“Maybe using a Hellhound disguise was a mistake, People keep staring at me…” He thought as he entered the mall. “R.O.M…I wonder if I’ll find more about it here in the Envy Ring-”
The Doctor was so deep in his thoughts that he bumped into Helsa, causing both to fall to the ground.
“HEY!” Helsa yelled, her hair started moving like tentacles and her eyes started glowing, “Watch where you're going, you-”
The Doctor quickly grabbed the bought outfits from the ground. “Sorry, I was so deep into my thoughts that I didn't where I was going…”
“Shit, they’re all dirty! I just bought them!” Helsa complained, “You will pay for this-”
Helsa had an idea; a devilish smile appeared on her face. “Actually…I feel generous today. What’s your name, Hellhound?”
“I’m the Doctor,” the Doctor introduced himself.
“Well, ‘Doctor’, congratulations! From now on, you will be working for me, Helsa Von Eldritch, till you repay me for the damage! You should be honoured.” Helsa grinned.
The Doctor gave her an unsure smile. “Oh joy…Well, let’s humour her, I can leave whenever I want.”
Later, the Doctor, Helsa and Seviathan were in the limousine, with the former sitting on a side and the two siblings on the opposite one.
Seviathan kept giving confused glances at the Doctor. “Huh…Helsa?”
“What is it, Sev?” said Helsa, much calmer than before.
“Why the fuck did you bring a random Hellhound with us?” He said, “You could have, you know, asked if you wanted a pet! What are we going to say to Mother and Father?”
“As if they give a shit about what I do.” Helsa scoffed. “Besides, I could use a valet.”
“Aren’t the maids at home enough?” Seviathan argued.
“This one is different!” said Helsa, “Plus, having your own Hellhound is trendy on Sinstagram!”
“Sure thing, it's not like you took him because you have a Hellhound fetish or something.” Seviathan said under his breath.
“What did you say?” Helsa asked.
“Nothing, Sis.” Seviathan lied.
“They really are siblings, aren't they?” the Doctor commented.
As they arrived at the Von Eldritch Mansion, the three left the limousine and entered the house. The interior of the mansion was just like the exterior: Eerie and gothic, with dark green being the most prominent colour.
The Doctor looked around and saw two large paintings. One depicted the Von Eldritch family, with Seviathan, Helsa, their father Frederick and their mother Bethesda, the other depicted Frederick, standing next to a much bigger female demon with two heads: The left white head, more humanoid, had a friendly smile while the right indigo head, more serpentine and monstrous, had a serious look.
“They must be the Leviathan,” the Doctor thought.
“Ah, Seviathan, Helsa.” A deep male voice spoke. It was Frederick, the Duke of Envy himself. “I didn't hear you coming back.”
The Doctor looked at the Von Eldritch siblings. The moment the patriarch spoke, they both looked…Frightened. Especially Helsa. But despite that, she was the first of the two to speak.
“Yeah, huh…” She cleared her throat. “Father, this is the Doctor, he…Offered himself to be my valet.”
The Doctor stood silent and bowed.
Frederick raised an eyebrow, “ ‘Doctor’...Quite the odd name. And why have you offered yourself to serve my daughter, Hellhound?”
“Be-”
“Hush, child. I’m talking to your pet.” Frederick interrupted his daughter.
“Do I really need a reason to serve a Von Eldritch, Your Grace?” the Doctor lied. “It’s nothing but an honour even to be addressed to by Lady Helsa.”
“Very well, he may stay. Of course, it will be under your responsibility.”
“ ‘It’?” the Doctor thought.
“Understood. Come along, Doctor!” Helsa headed to her room, followed by her “Hellhound”.
As they reached Helsa’s room, the maritime Demon took off her coat and handed it to the Doctor, who went to put it in the wardrobe.
“Great, now I have to be the valet for a spoiled brat. I doubt she’s kind like Charlie.” He thought.
“Ah, I was lucky to find you!” said Helsa, happy. “Thanks to you, I will be able to reassert my dominance online over that Morningdud!”
“You seem to…Know the Princess of Hell well, huh…?”
“ ‘Helsa’ is fine,” said Helsa, “And of course I know that bitch! My daddy and the King are good friends. And despite that, I fucking hate that girl, Little Miss Purity thinks those filthy Sinners can be redeemed and even risked her life for them! How fucking stupid can someone be?”
“More than you could imagine, Helsa.” the Doctor went along with her.
“I know, right?” Helsa laughed. “Now, follow me, I’ll show you where you’ll sleep.”
The younger Von Eldritch opened her closet, revealing…A dog bed.
The Doctor was not amused. “Huh…What…What is this?”
“It’s where you’ll sleep, of course!” said Helsa, completely oblivious to the problem. “You are my pet, of course, I’ll treat you well!”
“How…Kind of you.” the Doctor forced a smile. “Is this how Hellhounds are treated in Hell? Like pets?”
“I know, I know, I too have a heart sometimes,” Helsa smirked smugly. “Now, let’s go to sleep, we have a lot to do tomorrow!”
“This is gonna be a loooong week…” the Doctor gave up and went to sleep on his “bed”.
And so, Helsa and the Doctor spent the time shooting photos for the Noble’s Sinstagram, buying new outfits to try, along with some “pet bonding”, as the Von Eldritch girl said. All of this repeats for an entire week.
But luckily, the Doctor's efforts weren't in vain in the end.
Helsa laughed, “Oh, look at those numbers! As expected, we’ve got more traction than that Hazbin of a princess!”
“Y-Yeah, congratulations…” said the Doctor, completely exhausted, laying down on the floor.
“Come on, Doctor! We have to celebrate!” Helsa put her coat on. The Time Lord sighed and followed her.
But outside, someone was observing them. “The target is leaving the mansion.”
“Excellent. How many guards are with her?” said his boss
“Only one, a Hellhound,” said the figure. “He looks ridiculous; look at those question marks.”
“...Question marks?” said the man on the phone. “Where are these question marks?”
“On the collar of the shirt, why?”
“...Get the Von Eldritch girl and kill that Hellhound. He’s incredibly dangerous.” The man ordered, “Of course, your pay will be doubled.”
The hitman grinned. “Sure thing, Mr. Saxon .” He closed the call.
On the other side of the call, in a tower of Pentagram City, a male goat Demon with grey fur wearing a black frock coat with a large crimson-lined collar on the left-hand side, an olive green shirt, dark trousers, and black zip-up boots slammed his fist on the desk.
“You just can’t stay dead, can you, Doctor?” He said. “That Imp better do his job…”
Helsa and the Doctor arrived at a glamorous restaurant.
“Welcome to the best restaurant of the Envy Ring, Doctor!” Helsa announced, “I love coming here every now and then by myself.”
“Wow…” the Doctor looked around, “This place is great. But why did you bring me here, though? Aren’t I just a ‘lowly Hellhound’?”
“Of course, but you're my Hellhound,” said Helsa, “And I treat my things well, as I told you.”
The Doctor’s eye twitched. “How…Nice.”
“Oh, I know, I'm so kind,” said Helsa, completely oblivious.
So, the two ordered to eat, unaware of the Imp hitman spying on them.
He grinned, “Having lunch with your pet, huh? Well, ya better enjoy your meal, missy, for it's gonna be your last. ”
As the two were eating, the Doctor felt that something was…Off. For starters, the place was completely empty.
“...Where are the waiters?” He asked, “Where is everyone? ”
“Hmm?” Helsa looked around. “...Weird, the waiters at least were supposed to be here.”
“I think it’s better if we leave, Helsa,” said the Doctor, “I have a terrible feeling about…This…”
But suddenly, reality began warping before their eyes, the Doctor glanced at Helsa and then at the food and scanned it with his sonic screwdriver.
“A tranquiliser…” He thought. “Someone…Drugged…Us…”
Both he and Helsa fainted.
The Doctor woke up in a barely lit dirty cell, his vision was slowly getting cleared.
“Wha…Where…?” He said.
“Mornin’, sunshine.” A male voice spoke. It was a snake-like Imp with pale red skin and almost as tall as the Doctor’s Imp form. His eyes had bright yellow sclera, dark green rings around the slit pupils and was wearing a cowboy-like outfit. “Slept well? I hope ya liked your food, I added a couple of things to it.”
“Who are you…” the Doctor glared, “Where’s Helsa Von Eldritch?”
“The little lady is fine, no need to worry,” said the hitman, “Now, my client only wanted her, but after I told him about you, he ordered me to take you, too…Say, what’s your name?”
“I’m the Doctor.” the Time Lord said coldly, “Soon you will remember it well, trust me. ”
The hitman laughed, not at all intimidated. “Oh, you’re a funny one. The name's Striker, pleasure to meet ya.”
“Can't say the same, unfortunately,” the Doctor snarked.
“Well, Doctor, I'd love to spend more time with ya, but duty calls. After I get paid, Mr. Saxon will deal with Von Eldritch’s little pet.”
The Doctor looked at Striker with surprise as he left…Which then turned into an expression of annoyance.
“Of course, he's behind all of this…” the Doctor, “Although, why kidnap Helsa? What would the Master want from her?”
The Time Lord checked outside his cell, nobody was there to guard him. As far as Striker knows, the Doctor is only a mere Hellhound. He checked his pockets and took his Sonic screwdriver.
“The idiot didn't even check if I was armed.” He smirked. He pointed at the lock with the sonic et voilà! The Doctor was free.
“Don't worry, Helsa, I'm coming to save you.” He tairs. then stealthily explored the dungeons.
Meanwhile, Helsa regained consciousness. Her vision was blurry; she attempted to move, but her hands were chained to the ceiling.
Striker entered the room
“How do you do, Princess?” He said, “Oh right, you ain't one, just the spare of a Duke.”
“You filthy Imp! Let me go at once!” Helsa roared, her hair began moving like tentacles.
“Oh, right away, Your Grace!” said Striker with sarcasm. “I’ve got the keys right…Here!” He stabbed her shoulder with an Angelic dagger.
Helsa screamed in pain, “Y-You…YOU LITTLE-”
Striker pointed the dagger at the girl’s throat.
“Little what, huh?” He said. “One more word and I’m gonna turn that little throat of yours into a blood fountain.”
Helsa went silent, her body was shaking like a leaf. She couldn’t believe it: She, a Von Eldritch, was scared…Of an Imp, of all Demons.
Striker noticed her fear, and boy if he wasn’t loving it. He took a syringe out of his jacket and extracted some of her dark green blood, putting it into a vial.
“Now, I'm off to make a call. Ya better behave, Douchess.”
Striker closed the door, leaving the young noblewoman alone.
The Doctor ran down the stairs, pointing the Sonic Screwdriver up in the air.
“She should be nearby…” He thought.
Then, he heard some screams of pain, followed by maniacal laughs.
The Doctor reached the source of the noise. “Found her!”
He slammed the door open.
“Helsa!" He said, "Are you alright?"
“...I'm fine." said Helsa, her shoulder was still bleeding. "Took you long enough."
The Doctor used his sonic screwdriver to free Helsa's hands.
"Now, stay still, I'm gonna heal your shoulder." He said.
Helsa scuffed. “Yeah, with what? Your magic…Powers…”
A glowing blue energy came out of the Time Lord's hands, and in a matter of seconds, Helsa's wound disappeared.
“How did you-”
“I'll explain later,” said the Doctor. “Let’s get that bastard before he leaves."
Meanwhile, Striker was talking to the Master on the phone.
“The girl and her Hellhound are both under our custody, Mr. Saxon.” He said.
“Wonderful,” said the Master, “Did you get the Von Eldritch’s blood?”
“I have it right here,” said Striker.
“Good, send it to me as soon as possible,” said the Master, “After you do that, you will receive your payment.”
“And what do I do with my two ‘guests’?” the Imp hitman asked.
“Kill the Doctor. As for the girl, you can do as you please.” the Master closed the call.
Striker grinned, playing with his Angelic blade. “Well, I guess I’ll have some fun with the spoiled brat before sending this…”
But then, he heard some noises, and suddenly Helsa slammed the door open and entered the room, now transformed into a more…Well… Eldritch form.
Helsa’s hair tentacles grabbed the Imp.
“YOU WORM!” Her voice echoed. “HOW DARE YOU KIDNAP A VON ELDRITCH?!”
Striker tried to free himself and attempted to stab her, but Helsa had the upper hand and threw the dagger away. But before she could rip the Imp in two, the Doctor intervened, revealing his Seraph form.
“Helsa, wait!” He said. “You don't have to do this.”
Helsa was shocked, “W-What the…”
“Yes, yes, I know, I'm an Angel, that's not important,” said the Doctor. “Helsa, you need to calm down. We need him alive.”
Helsa looked at the Imp and the back at the Doctor.
“Ugh…Fine.” She turned back to normal and let him go.
“Now then…” the Doctor turned to Striker and glared at him. “Now, I think it’s better if you start talking, or I might change my mind. What did Mr. Saxon want from you? Why did he want Helsa?”
“...He wanted a sample of her blood,” said Striker. “I dunno why.”
“My…Blood?” Helsa looked puzzled. “What’s so special about it?”
“That’s…A good question,” said the Doctor. He turned back to Striker. “You know what? I’m gonna let you go.”
“What?/WHAT?!” Striker and Helsa said in unison, the latter more shocked than the former.
“Why are you letting that thing go?!” the young woman complained, “He fucking kidnapped me and stabbed me in the shoulder, remember?!”
“Oh please, if anything leeches like ya deserve much worse than that,” said Striker. He turned to the Time Lord. “But seriously, why are ya letting me go?”
“Because even though you’re probably a massive piece of shit, that doesn’t mean you deserve death.” the Doctor explained. “However…” He extended his arm towards the Imp. “I think you have something that doesn’t belong to you.”
Striker sighed and handed over the vial to the Doctor, who proceeded to smash it to the ground.
“Now, I also want you to give Mr. Saxon a message. Just six words…”
“ The Doctor Will See You Soon …” the Master read the letter. He threw it away and slammed his fist into the desk. “Every single time, a bloody THORN IN MY SIDE!”
He took a deep breath and calmed down. “...No matter, I'll get the blood from somebody else.” He smirked, “Soon, I won't need those Vees anymore, and I will use her power to dominate the Afterlife… And there's nothing you can do about it, Doctor! ”
Later, the Doctor and Helsa managed to escape and return to the Von Eldritch manor.
“Sorry for…Not telling you about it,” said the Doctor, now back in his Hellhound disguise. “I have to leave, I need to find out why they want your blood.”
But before he could turn and leave, Helsa grabbed his hand.
“Before you leave…There’s something I wanted to tell you.” She said, her cheeks turned a tad black. “T-T-T…”
“What?” said the Doctor.
“T-Tha…” She took a deep breath, deeply embarrassed. “...Thank you…For saving me.”
The Doctor smiled, “Colour me surprised, you do know how to say ‘thank you’.”
“Hey!” Helsa blushed more, causing the Time Lord.
“See you around, Helsa.” He left.
Days, on the other side of the Envy Ring, in a large castle, Frederick was having a meeting with his monarch.
“This all that my daughter told me,” said Frederick, giving them a dossier. “An Imp called his client ‘Mr. Saxon’, and probably lives in Pride.”
The Leviathan took it and read the dossier. “The Pride Ring…That’s Luci’s domain.” The Leviathan’s left head spoke with a deep and cold voice. “It’s likely this ‘Mr. Saxon’ is a Sinner, knowing them.”
“Did Helsa say anything else that could help, Fred?” The other head, her voice sounding gentler.
“No, I don’t think so, Leviathan,” said Frederick, “Although there was a Hellhound who got kidnapped with her, one she decided to adopt. He calls himself ‘the Doctor’.”
Both heads looked intrigued by the Duke’s comment. Remembering having heard that name before, both of them asked one, simple question.
“...Tell us more about this...'Doctor'."

Chapter 5: Everyone Fucks Up
Summary:
When the Doctor invites Loona into the TARDIS, things sure do happen.
Notes:
This chapter was supposed to be a minisode...And it ended up being almost as long as a normal chapter. Oh well!
This is also a very partial celebration of the 20th anniversary since the airing of "Rose", beginning the revival era of Doctor Who.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
The TARDIS was flying through the Time Vortex to its next destination, the Doctor resting on his armchair. Although, he had to admit, he was incredibly bored at the moment for how silent the box felt. Excluding the Hazbin crew, when was the last time he travelled with someone?
Oh, right, Donna.
He still feels guilty for what he had done to her, although it was either that or her dying horribly.
In the silence of the TARDIS, only broken by the box's soft humming, the Doctor remembered the words of her old friend:
“Promise me one thing: Find someone.”
“I don't need anyone,” said the Tenth Doctor.
“Yes, you do.” said Donna, “Because sometimes…You need someone to stop you.”
“Someone to stop me, huh?” said the Doctor. He took his cell phone and selected one phone contact.
In the Pride Ring, Loona was lazing on her bed, endlessly scrolling Sinstagram, like any day when she isn’t at “work” as the secretary of her father’s company, Immediate Murder Professionals (or I.M.P.).
Ironically, the more she kept scrolling to spend time, seeing all how happy other people were with their friends, the more she felt miserable. And it’s not like she had hobbies, she doubted that bullying her dad’s coworkers and drinking cheap booze till she’s wasted can count as hobbies.
But then, her phone rang and a name appeared on the screen.
“T-The Doctor?!” Loona fell out of her bed in panic. “Shit! Shit! FUCK!” Loona stood up, took a deep breath and answered the call. “Yeah?” She pretended not to care.
“Hey, Loona.” the Doctor spoke, “How do you do? Are you busy?”
“Oh, well, yeah! I’m fine.” said Loona, “Just…You know, finished doing business stuff with my father. Why do you ask?”
“Well, it feels rather lonely here, and I’m totally bored, so I was wondering if we could hang out,” said the Doctor.
Loona’s eyes widened, and her tough facade began falling apart. “H-Huh…Sure, whatever. Where do you wanna meet?”
“You’re from the Pride Ring, right? I’ll meet you there; just tell me where and when.”
“...Imp City, the Residential area. In an hour,” said Loona.
“Got it. See you soon.” the Doctor closed the call.
Loona then realised what happened and screamed into her pillow from joy. Then, she regained composure and went to get ready.
“What should I wear?” She rummaged through her wardrobe. She certainly couldn’t wear her usual outfits, the Doctor was classy as fuck, and the Hellhound didn’t want to look like a hobo to him. But also she didn’t want to be overdressed, but then…
“Oh, fuck it!” Loona decided to do it on her own, grabbed a black crop top and a pair of denim shorts and went to get changed.
After that, Loona headed towards the door.
“Where are you goin', Loonie?” Blitzo asked from the sofa.
“Meeting a friend from the party,” said Loona. “None of your business.”
“Alright…Just be at home by dinner,” said Blitzo.
“Whatever.” Loona left.
As she arrived to the place the two agreed to meet in, the Doctor was already there, donning his Hellhound disguise.
“Hey, Loona.” said the Doctor. “You look great. I didn’t know you were a goth.”
Loona blushed and her tail wagged. “Thanks…Where do we wanna go?”
“About that…I need you to close your eyes.” said the Doctor, “It’s a surprise, and I think you’ll love it, trust me!”
“Alright.” Loona closed her eyes. the Doctor brought her inside the TARDIS, holding her hand.
“Alright, you can open them now.” He said.
Loona obliged. She looked around, both amazed and very confused. “The fuck…? Where are we?”
“In the TARDIS,” said the Doctor, “Time And Relative Dimension In Space, this box can travel through all of Time and Space…And it’s my home.” He smirked confidently.
Loona snorted. “You’re bullshitting me.”
“Oh, but it’s the truth,” said the Doctor, “In fact, how about a demonstration?”
The Doctor went to the console, pressed a few buttons, pulled down the lever, and the TARDIS dematerialised.
After a while, the TARDIS materialised again.
“Alright…” said the Doctor, “Now, open the door, Loona!”
Loona shrugged and headed to the door. “I still don’t know-”
She went silent from the shock after she opened the door. Outside the box, there wasn’t the city, she was…In space. The Doctor patiently waited for the girl’s reaction.
“I…I’m not drunk, am I?” said Loona. “I’m pretty sure I didn’t touch a bottle today.”
“That’s a normal reaction,” said the Doctor, “You’re not the first that stepped into this silly old box, and every single one of them was flabbergasted.”
Loona was still speechless. A guy she met at a party and found him hot has a spaceship/time machine/whatever the fuck it was and lives in it.
“Just…Who is this guy?” She thought.
“So…Where do you wanna go?” the Doctor asked.
“W-What?” Loona snapped out of her train of thought.
“All of Time and Space, everything that ever happened and ever will, is at your fingertips. Just tell me where you wanna go, and I’ll bring you there.”
“S-Shit, Doctor, I don’t know what to say…” said Loona, “This is…A lot, to be honest.”
“Fair enough. I guss I got a bit too excited, sorry.” said the Doctor, “But, if you don’t have any ideas, let’s go..Here!”
The Doctor put on the coordinates and the TARDIS dematerialised.
It materialised again in space, levitating around Earth. The Doctor opened the doors and climbed on the roof of the box. He then helped the Hellhound to reach it too.
“How…How are we still breathing?” Loona asked.
“There's an oxygen field around the TARDIS,” said the Doctor, “I like coming here to relax every now and then…What a view, huh?”
Loona looked at the little blue planet so distant from them. “That's the Human realm?”
“Yeah, it is. That silly little blue planet.” said the Doctor.
Loona never felt so relaxed before. Sitting in space, in silence, observing the Earth while being next to the Doctor.
“This feels…Nice.” She smiled, “Thanks for bringing me here, Doctor.”
“You're welcome.” said the Doctor, “And this is only the beginning, a mere taste of what’ll come for you, Loona!”
“What do you mean?” Loona was intrigued.
The Doctor held her hand, making her blush. “How about you join me, here in the TARDIS? No more boring desk jobs, just fun across Time and Space. You'll see all sorts of things: aliens from distant worlds, the history of the Human realm, the day Lucifer fell from grace…It won't be safe - it never was - it won't be quiet and it won't be calm. But I'll tell you what will be… The Trip of a Lifetime! ” He smiled.
The Hellhound looked conflicted. She took a deep breath and then said her choice. “...Sorry, but no.”
“What?!” the Doctor looked flabbergasted, “Why?!”
“Look, Doc, I’d really love to join you into fucking off in space, but…I have my stuff to do. Besides, if I’m not around, who’ll take care of that shithead of my dad?”
The Doctor chuckled, “Fair enough. Just…Remember that the offer still stands, okay?”
Loona’s tail wagged and smiled softly. “Noted.”
The Doctor quickly went back into the TARDIS and returned back on the roof, holding two glasses of whiskey.
“Let’s stay here a little more, having a little chit-chat behind a glass of whiskey.” the Doctor handed over a glass.
Loona tasted it and was surprised, “Holy shit…It’s better than the cheap shitty booze we buy.”
“I like treating myself well,” said the Doctor.
“Say…About these travels, the TARDIS…” said Loona, “Have you travelled with someone else before?”
“Yeah, I did.” said the Doctor, “Most of them were humans, they can be a fun bunch.”
“Really?” Loona looked sceptical, “That bunch of losers, creeps and psychos are fun to you?”
“Not all Humans are like Sinners, Loona.” said the Doctor, “I only travel with the best Humanity has to offer.”
“Suuure.” Loona, “Tell me about this “Best of Humanity” you travelled with.”
“Well…Where to begin?” said the Time Lord, “A Fierce Scotsman, a savage warrior, an intrepid reporter, a flamboyant gangster...Then, there was Rose, Martha and Donna.”
Loona’s expression turned into a mix of both curiosity and mild jealousy at the mention of those female names. “And….Who were they?”
"The last three Humans I travelled with." said the Doctor, "Rose was the first of them, she helped me going through a...Really bad period of my life. I just lost everything, my family, my home...I've never felt so lonely. But thanks to her, I managed to slowly return back to normal."
“Looks like she meant a lot for you.” Loona started to feel a bit guilty for being jealous.
“She did.” said the Doctor. “And so did Martha and Donna. Although I ruined their lives.”
“Wait, what?” Loona was surprised by the Time Lord’s sudden statement. “How?”
He didn’t say a word.
“...Nevermind, I shouldn’t have asked.” The Hellhound realised her faux pas and poured another glass of whiskey to the Doctor. “You don’t have to tell me if you don't want to. Besides, if you think you fucked up, you’re in…Very good company.” She also glanced away, remembering the many, many mistakes she made before she met Blitzo. She gave him a small smile. “Everyone fucks up.”
The Doctor drank the whiskey. “Yeah, you’re right. Sorry for trauma dumping all of this on you,”
“No, no! It's alright, you just wanted to talk to someone.”
Later, the TARDIS materialised back in Imp City. The Doctor and Loona stepped out.
“And this is your stop.” said the Doctor. “It's been fun.”
“Yeah…Including being your therapist.”
They both laughed.
“I'll make sure to return the favour,” said the Doctor. He smiled, “If you wanna hang out again, just call me.”
Loona's tail wagged and blushed slightly. “I-I will.”
the Doctor stepped inside the blue box and the TARDIS dematerialised.
The Time Lord sighed as he went back into his normal Seraph form. He looked at the rest oft he console room, now back into being completely silent with the exception of the TARDIS’ soft humming.
Since he had left Heaven, he hadn’t paid much attention to silence, but why did it bother him now?
It felt…Maddening.
The Doctor shook his head and left the console room. Memories of his adventures, the traumas he caused on his friends…He could feel the sins crawling on his back.
But he ignored the feeling and kept walking, through the endless corridors of the old blue box.
“‘Everyone fucks up’...” He repeated Loona’s words in his head, “It must be why I’m down here.”

Chapter 6: Octavia
Summary:
When Octavia accidentally goes to the Human realm and gets kidnapped, things sure do happen.
Notes:
Welcome back, everyone! This time, you're getting a pretty long chapter, around 6.6k words! Enjoy!
Chapter Text
Hell, being a kingdom, has of course its aristocracy, being mostly represented by the Ars Goetia, avian-looking Demons with the duty to administer lands across the Seven Rings, in a similar fashion to the old feudal system on Earth. But in the Land of the Damned, your life can still be miserable, no matter who you are.
And that’s the case for an Ars Goetia princess in the Pride Ring who, in a matter of a year, saw her world falling down… Octavia.
The only child of Prince Stolas and Stella, Octavia had a quite decent childhood, spending a lot of time with her father, who was kinder and lenient than her mother. But everything changed when her father’s affair with an Imp became known, things went south really fast.
Hearing the screams and insults her parents threw at each other became a routine for the young owlette, who preferred isolating herself in her room by listening to loud music.
And all of this, every. Single. Day.
She wished all of this could stop and her family would be back to normal…But alas, she was completely powerless in this situation.
Then, Octavia went to her wardrobe and grabbed something from deep inside it…A small medallion with a seal printed on it.
She still remembers that night vividly, 12 years ago, when an Angel descended in her room.
Her father just left her room, after telling her about the meteor shower that occurs once every millenia, Azathoth’s Tears, the young Octavia was about to fall asleep.
She heard an odd noise coming from outside, a wheezing, groaning noise. Then, a crash and someone knocking on the window.
Little Octavia, more curious than scared, went to open the window and saw the Doctor, in his default Seraph form, clinging on the stool.
“Hello!” He said, “Mind if I come inside? I’m getting a little tired.”
Octavia helped him enter.
“Thanks…” said the Doctor, panting, “Made a slight miscalculation in the coordinates…”
“Who are you, sir?” Octavia asked, more curious than frightened of the ‘Seraph’, “Are you…An angel?”
“I’m the Doctor,” the Time Lord said. He glanced at himself. “And I guess I can be considered an Angel.” He gently head patted Octavia, “Sorry for waking you up, little…?”
“Octavia,” the owlette introduced herself, “You can call me Via; my daddy does it.”
“Octavia…Via…What a beautiful name.” the Doctor smiled softly.
“Via? Via!” The two heard a male voice with a posh accent coming from outside the room.
“Your daddy, I suppose,” said the Doctor. Via nodded.
As Octavia’s father, a tall owl Demon with grey-blue feathers, two almond-shaped pupil-less red eyes on top of the other and wearing a nightrobe, entered the room, Octavia was in the bed and the Doctor was nowhere in sight.
“I heard some odd noises,” He said, “Are you alright, dear?”
Octavia nodded, “I’m fine, Daddy.”
Octavia’s father sighed in relief, “Oh, thank goodness. Goodnight, my little starlight.”
“Goodnight!” Via said back. When her dad left, the owlette checked under her breath, where the Doctor hid. “You can come out now.”
The Time Lord came out of his hiding. “Well, I guess that’s my cue to leave. Don’t tell anyone I was here.” He tugged the child in the bed. “Go to sleep, Via, it'll like it was just a dream..”
“Will I…See you again?” She yawned. Just before she fell asleep, she heard the Doctor saying:
“You will. And when it'll happen, I'll make you see the stars. Goodnight, Via.”
And that was the last time Octavia saw that Seraph. She didn't know a lot about him, and sometimes even wondered if he was real and not just a childish fantasy….But…She wouldn't mind at all if he returned, having so many questions.
‘Make her see the stars’...What did he mean by that? Which stars was he referring to?
Octavia looked at the calendar: Today, Azathoth’s Tears should be visible at after thousands of years. Her Dad promised that he’ll see them with her when she was a child…But…
“...He’ll probably break the promise. Like always. ” She thought.
However, Octavia wasn’t going to give up: She will see the starfall tonight, no matter what. Though, she’ll need something that will bring her there: Like her father’s Grimoire…Which was currently borrowed. Knowing where to find it, Octavia put on her usual outfit: A pink long-sleeved dress with yellow stars on it, a black cardigan, matching leggings and high-heeled boots, and a beanie hat with a tiara on it. Then, she took a backpack and left.
Next stop: I.M.P. HQ.
At I.M.P., Blitzo was dodging for dear life the several objects his furious daughter was throwing at him.
“Shit, Loona, honey, ple-” Blitzo dodged a chair, “Can we talk about this, please?”
Loona pouched at him and tackled him down, and began beating the shit out of him with a photo.
All while the other two employees of I.M.P., a couple of Imps, were observing the scene. One was a young man with short, pointy hair, white freckles on his face and was wearing a black suit with wite cuffs and a large, red bowtie. As the other, it was a familiar face… Millie.
“What are they fightin’ about, Mox?” Millie asked.
“Blitzo talked to Loona about her ‘attitude’ with clients,” Moxie explained, with a satisfied smirk on his face.
“L-Look, Loonie, it’s not like I’m saying anything bad!” said Blitzo, “Just that you could…You know…Making a couple of tweaks and becoming more of a people person!”
“I am a people person!” Loona rebutted. She then grabbed Blitzo by the collar of the shirt. “If I’m so terrible, why don’t you grow a pair and replace me?! ”
Then, the bald Imp had an idea.
“...Maybe I might.”
“What?” Loona was confused. The plan was working!
“Y-Yup, that’s right! It’s Tough Love time!” Blitzo continued with the bluff, “Now you can…Go to your desk!”
Loona growled…And then groaned. She let Blitzogo and went to her desk. At the same time,Octavia entered the office stealthily and reached Blitzo’s office.
She looked around, and noticed a safe on the Imp’s desk. Octavia inserted the first combination she could come up: 1234.
“What am I thinking,” She thought, “It’s not like it’s gonna wo-”
The safe opened, revealing her father’s Grimoire inside.
Octavia was flabbergasted for a few minutes, then she grabbed the Grimoire and held it to her chest.
“...Let me see the stars.” She whispered.
Suddenly, the Grimoire started glowing, then emitting a bright purple light that engulfed the entire room.
Alarmed, the I.M.P. crew stormed into Blitzo’s office, but when they arrived, Octavia wasn’t there, and neither was the Grimoire.
“...Fuck.” That's what all he said.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” Octavia fell out of a rtal, landing in an alley. “Ow! Fuck!” She said as she struggled to stand up.
Still dizzy and confused, the owlette left the alley, holding the book tightly to her chest, and looked around. Not too far from her, there was a large clock tower on the other side of a bridge.
“Where…Where am I?” Octavia thought.
“Oi, kid!” A bloke walking with a group of friends called her, all of them clearly drunk. “It’s a bit too early for Halloween, you know?”
“What’s that costume supposed to be? Furry Lydia Deetz?” Said another one.
They laughed and left. Octavia sighed in relief and left.
But unfortunately for her, a couple of hidden camera were pointed directly at her…
Suddenly, a group of black trucks surrounded Octavia.
The owlette attempted to run away, but then a helicopter arrived, flying above her head.
Soldiers came out of the truck, pointing their rifles at her.
“This is the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce!” said an officer speaking with a megaphone from the helicopter. “Extraterrestrial lifeform, surrender immediately!”
Scared and realising that there wasn’t any way out, Octavia put the Grimoire on the ground and raised her hands in the air.
The TARDIS materialised at Hyde Park, London. The Doctor stepped out, donning his human disguise, which was identical to his Seraph form minus wings, halo and skin colour.
The Doctor looked around, a happy grin on his face.
“London…Still a dump, but oh, if I missed it!” He thought. “I guess I’ve earned some relax.”
He closed the door of the blue box and went for a walk.
Meanwhile, on the East End of the city, a portal opened. The I.M.P. crew, along with Octavia’s father Stolas stepped out of it.
“The fuck is this place?” Blitzo commented, “It reeks of rain and smoke.”
Moxxie glanced at the sign, reading “Foreman’s Yard”.
“Let’s move somewhere else, I can’t smell shit here,” said Loona.
“Not without disguises…” said Blitzo.
Then, both Loona and Stolas changed their appearance, now looking human. As for the Hellhound, the fur disappeared and now had still long silver hair shaved on a side and red eyes, although now that she didn’t have fur her usual outfit looked…Skimpy. As for the Owl Demon, he now had short blue-ish hair and a pair of sunglasses on top of his, and was wearing a blue shirt with black trosuers and a red waistcoat.
Blitzo was flabbergasted. “Huh…Do…Do you think you can lend us some disguises too?”
“I’m afraid not.” said Stolas, “Without my Grimoire, my powers are quite limited in the human realm. The spells are too long to memorise.”
The tall Imp sighed in disappointed, “Well, we’ll find something along the way.”
They walked off from Foreman’s Yard.
Meanwhile, below the Tower of London…
An officer brought some documents to a blonde middle-aged woman dressed in black, observing the large screen monitoring the city.
“Ma’am, we’ve got some reports!” He said, handing over the dossier. “We found it at Hyde Park.”
“Where’s the owner?” The woman asked after checking the dossier.
“We don’t know, ma’am. But we think he’s nearby,” said the officer.
“Keep looking for him. And then bring him here,” said the woman, “He might help us identify our ‘guest’.”
“Yes, ma’am!” The officer left. The woman looked at the dossier again. Inside it, there was a photo of the 3rd, 4th, 7th, 9th and 10th incarnations of the Doctor.
“We finally meet…Doctor.” She thought.
Meanwhile, the I.M.P. were buying some disguises from a shop, Loona was lazing on her phone, (im)patiently waiting for the others to finish.
But as she walked off for a moment, Loona bumped into someone else, falling onto the ground.
“Hey, watch where you’re going, you fucking…” Loona growled, but then stopped as she saw who she bumped into. Those eyebrows, the hair, the suit…
“Doctor?!/Loona?!” they two said in unison.
“What are you doing here?!” said the Hellhound.
“Wanted to relax a little, what are you doing here?” the Doctor asked, “How did you get to Earth?”
“Using a book Blitzo got, it’s a long story-” She realised something. “No, wait, it’s perfect that you’re here!”
Loona grabbed the Doctor’s wrist and dragged him to the shop. where Stolas, Millie and Moxxie were waiting for Blitzo to find a decent disguise.
“Ah, there you are, Loona! Whe-” Millie recognised the Doctor, a big smile appeared on the face. “Doc!”
“Hello, Millie.” the Doctor kept a soft smile as the two hugged. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”
“You can say that again! It’s been five years, at least!” said Millie.
Moxxie and Loona looked at the Imp and the Time Lord, very much confused.
“Uh…Do you two…?” said Moxxie.
“Do you guys know each other?” Loona asked.
“Yeah! I met this guy during my mission before meetin’ y’all. He’s a fun guy!” Millie gave a friendly punch to the Doctor’s arm.
“She needed to kill a guy, I needed to ask him a few questions. So, we teamed he Doctor up,”
the Doctor explained.
“Hmmm…Well, it's nice to meet you, ‘Doctor’, I'm Moxxie, Millie's husband.” He offered a handshake.
The Doctor obliged. “Husband‘?” He looked at Millie, “You sure don't waste time, do you, Millie?” The female Imp chuckled.
“Now, mind telling me what are you all doing here?” the Time Lord asked.
“W-Well, you see, it's about my daughter, Octavia…” said Stolas. “She got lost in the Human realm.”
“I see…” said the Doctor, “Alright, I can help you with that.”
Then, Blitzo came out of the shop.
“Okay, I didn't find anything decent in tha shitty shop, I guess we-” He noticed the Doctor, “Who the fuck are you?”
“Blitzo…That's the Doctor. You know, the guy with eyebrows at the party?”
“Hmmmmmmmm…Nah, never heard of him.” said Blitzo, “But you better not get too comfortable with my Loonie!”
Loona groaned in annoyance, “Why do you have to be like this? He's just…He’s just a friend!”
“Yeah, sure, a ‘friend’! Looks like-”
“ Enough! ” the Doctor shouted. “In case you forgot there’s a teenage demon girl lost somewhere in this enormous city so, if you please, shut the fuck up and follow me to the TARDIS!” the Doctor headed towards Hyde Park.
“The ‘TARDIS’?” Moxxie asked.
“That's Doc's spaceship, you're gonna love it, Mox!” Millie explained.
They arrived at the TARDIS.
Blitzo scoffed, “That's a spaceship? It just a fucking blue box!”
“I think I've seen something like this before…” said Stolas.
“Oh, it's more than just a police box.” said the Doctor.
“Oh sure, what is it, then? Some kind of magical bullshit box that can get big-WHAT THE FUCK?!?!”
As the Doctor revealed the inside of the TARDIS, the Demons (minus Millie and Loona) were utterly flabbergasted.
“I…We…” said Moxxie.
“I don't believe it…It really is a spaceship!” said Stolas, “Oh, Via would jump around from joy.”
“Still the same as the last time…I missed it so much!”
“The TARDIS missed you too, Millie.” said the Doctor. He turned to the console, “Now about-”
Suddenly, everyone felt a turbulence inside the TARDIS, causing them to fall to the ground.
“What the fuck's happening?!” said Blitzo.
“I don't know, it's not the TARDIS! Something has grabbed us and is transporting us away!”
Struggling, the Doctor checked outside the box, and saw a helicopter with the UNIT emblem on it dragging the TARDIS with a hook. At that moment, the Doctor’s expression went from concerned to very annoyed.
“So? What did ya see, Doc?” Millie asked.
“Nothing to worry about. Just…Some old friends.” said the Doctor.
The TARDIS was dropped in front of the entrance of UNIT HQ. Several stood on its side in line and saluted the Doctor as he emergeded from the box followed by the Demons.
“So, who’s the dimwit who decided to take my TARDIS with a helicopter without warning?” He said, crossing his arms.
“That would be me, actually.” A blonde middle-aged woman walked towards the group. “Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, head of UNIT. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Doctor.”
“Hold it…Lethbridge-Stewart? Those Lethbridge-Stewarts? Are you-?”
“Yes, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart is my father.” said Kate, “He told me a lot about you, I hope he rests in peace.”
“Oh, don’t worry, he just went to Hell after killing the First Man, nothing serious.” the Doctor thought.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” said Blitzo, “So, why the fuck did you bring us here? We’re very busy!”
“We wanted to just bring the Doctor here, but we didn’t realise you had so many…Companions this time.”Kate gave a quick glance at the I.M.P. crew. “Anyway, we were hoping if you had more information about an extraterrestrial lifeform we found this morning.”
Both the Doctor and Stolas had an idea.
“Pardon me, Ms. Lethbridge-Stewart, but…Does this lifeform looks like an owl, and wears a tiara over a beanie hat, by any chance?” Stolas asked.
“Uh…Yes. Yes, she does,” said Kate.
“That’s her!” said Stolas, “That’s my daughter!”
“Let us see her, please.” said the Doctor.
“Follow me, she’s at the lower levels.” Kate and the others entered the building in a hurry.
Meanwhile, at the lower levels of UNIT HQ, Octavia was sitting on a bed in a cell, hugging her knees.
Needless to say, she was scared shitless from what happened. First, she can’t go with her father to see the stars because apparently he’s too busy shourting and arguing with his wife to spend some fucking time with his only daughter, then she found herself imprisoned Satan-knows-fucking-where in the Human realm. What a fantastic day!
She heard someone’s footsteps, it’s probably just a guard.
But then…She felt there was something odd with him, his eyes looked…Lifeless. He stood in front of her, without uttering a word and smiling…Creepily.
“Huh…” said Octavia, deeply uncomfortable, “Do you…Do you need something?”
Then, after hearing a buzzing noise, the guard threw a narcotic bomb inside the cell. Panicking, Octavia covered her beak with her coat, desperately trying not to inhale the gas. She tried to call for help, but nobody replied. But as she lost consciousnes, the guard told er something with a cheerfully creepy tone…
“Fear not, little bird…Soon, it’ll all be over…”
The Doctor’s team stepped out of the lift. Suddenly, the alarm went off.
“ATTENTION. ATTENTION. CONTAINMENT LEVELS HAVE BEEN BREACHED. I REPEAT, CONTAINMENT LEVELS.”
“What?!” Kate said. “How did it?”
“Where’s the girl’s cell?” the Doctor interjected, already having a theory of what happened.
“Section D, third hallway.” said Kate.
“Alright, quick!”
The team ran towards the section. As they arrived, they found a few guards lying unconscious on the ground…And an opened cell.
“She was there…” said Kate.
“A kidnapping…” the Doctor scanned the cell with his sonic screwdriver. “Someone used a narcotic smoke bomb.”
Millie then glanced at the end of the corridor, and saw a mysterious figure wearing a military uniform…Holding a fainted owl girl in his arms.
“Over there!” She said, pointing at the figure, so started running towards the exit.
“Oh no, you fucking don’t!” Blitzo took out his pistol and shot several times at the figure, but none of them hit him, in fact, the guard…Deflected them?
“Octavia!” Stolas went for the chase.
“Kate, block all exits from the base! You guys go with her. Millie, with me!”
“Why is she-”
“JUST DO IT!” the Doctor interrupted Moxxie. They split up.
The Doctor and Millie went through the door and noticed for a brief second Stolas entering a room after several flights of stairs. The Time Lord snapped his fingers, making his Seraph wings appear, grabbed Millie, and flew directly into the room. But the more they kept chasing, the more they found…Dead bodies of UNIT soldiers lying on the ground.
Then, they found Stolas near the TARDIS, lying on the ground with an injured shoulder and panting heavily.
“What happened?” the Doctor asked, as he and Millie approached him.
“He got away…Took a truck…” said Stolas, “I tried to chase him…B-But he shot me…”
“How?” said Millie, “How can a human weapon harm a Goetia?”
“Unless…” the Doctor scanned Stolas’ wound with the Sonic and healed the wound, much to the Demon’s surprise.
The others arrived.
“Stolas!” Blitzo went to check on the owl Demon. “What happened?!”
“I’m fine, don’t worry, Blitzo.” Stolas gave him a weak smile.
“That asshole escaped with the girl usin’ a truck.” Millie explained.
“All the UNIT vehicles have a transmitter installed; we should manage to track it down,” said Kate.
“Good idea,” said the Doctor.
The I.M.P. crew followed Kate inside the building, but Loona noticed the Doctor was still looking far away.
“You’re coming, Doctor?” She said.
“Hmm? Yes, I’m coming.” He followed her back to UNIT HQ.
As they waited for the results, the team were waiting in a room prepared by Kate’s staff. The Doctor kept walking back and forth, deep in his thoughts.
“I just can’t understand.” He said, “Why kidnap Octavia? What would a human gain from kidnapping a teenage Demon with barely any powers? Why did those soldiers die? They were completely unharmed!”
“And where did he get an Angelic weapon from?” Moxxie added.
“Maybe he made a deal with an Overlord, or shit like that?” Loona proposed.
“I find it unlikely,” said Stolas, “Only Demons with a seal can be summoned to the Human realm, like an Ars Goetia or a Deadly Sin. As far as I know, Overlords cannot receive their seal due to their human origins.”
“And even if they could be summoned, Carmilla Carmine wouldn’t give her weapons to the first human she sees,” Moxxie added.
“Did somebody ask your opinion, fatty?” Loona growled.
“I am not fat! Stop calling me that!” Moxxie snapped back.
Kate stepped into the room, holding some documents.
“We found him,” She said, “The car stopped moving about 10 minutes ago. It’s near York.” She handed the coordinates to the Doctor.
“Oh, poor devil. Of all places on Earth, she ended up in Yorkshire,” said the Doctor.
“There’s also more bad news,” said Kate, “Not only they kidnapped the girl, but someone also took the book she had with her from the vault.”
“They got the Grimoire?!” Stolas gasped, “Oh my Lucifer, this is terrible! If a Human were to lay their hands on it…”
“It’d be catastrophic.” said the Doctor, “Alright, everyone! To the TARDIS!”
The group went to the TARDIS. The Doctor inserted the coordinates, pulled down the lever and the box dematerialised.
As the TARDIS flew through the Time Vortex, Millie caught up with her old friend.
“So, Doc!” She said, resting her arm on the console. “What did ya do in my absence during these 5 years?”
“Oh, you know, just…Running away from people and that stuff that wants to kill me, the usual,” said the Doctor, “And besides, it’s only been 5 years for you, Millie.”
“What do ya mean?” Millie asked.
“Time is relative, while for you 5 years have passed since we last met, for me it has been, like…Less than three weeks,” the Doctor explained. “Despite that, I still missed you. Looks like things changed a lot for you, you weren’t this easy-going last time.”
“Well…Remember the last thing ya told me before I left? That you ain’t the only one who thought I had a lot of potential?” said Millie, “Well, you were right! And I found a better job, a funny boss and a loving husband…” She glanced at Moxxie lovingly.
The Doctor smirked softly, “The…The offer always stands, you know? Your husband can join us too, the more, the merrier!”
Millie chuckled, “It’s nice of you to ask…But still, no thanks.”
The Doctor sighed in disappointment. “Alright…I guess I can’t change your mind.”
The TARDIS materialised in a forest.
“Alright, we’ve landed. But before we go out, you’ll need these.” the Doctor handed to Blitzo, Millie and Moxxie some bracelets. “Now, put them on!”
The three Imps obliged. Loona and Stolas were slightly startled.
“So…Should something happen now?” Moxxie looked at himself.
“Absolutely jackshit, that’s what,” said Blitzo.
“U-Uh…Blitzo?” said Stolas.
“What?” said Blitzo.
“Look at yourself.” Loona handed her adoptive father her handheld mirror. When he looked in the mirror, he and the other two Imps were surprised, for none of the three looked like Demons now, but like humans.
Blitzo now had short brown hair and brown skin, with the white burn marks still remaining. Millie As for Millie and Moxxie, they didn’t change much in appearance, with the former having brown skin and the latter having white one.
“Those bracelets are modified Perception Filters. As long as people don’t find out you’re Demons, they will see you as Humans.” the Doctor explained. “Sure, they may not be as flashy as using magic, but they should do the work.”
Blitzo laughed, looking at his human disguises in the mirror. “Okay, okay, that’s really fucking cool, I give you that.”
“Alright, everyone! Time to save Octavia!” said the Doctor and the team stepped out of the TARDIS.
The crew was now in a deep forest.
“The signal ends here…” said the Doctor.
Loona sniffed around, “I think they went West.” She pointed in that direction.
The group headed West, hoping to arrive before things go south.
Octavia regains consciousness in a room made of stone, barely lit by torches attached to the wall.
“Ugh…” She struggled to stand up. She then looked around. “Where…Where am I?”
“Somewhere a thousand times worse than Hell.” A female voice spoke.
“W-Who’s there?” Octavia asked, trying not to sound so scared.
“Relax, I’m just like you: A prisoner.” The figure came closer to the torch, showing her appearance: A female wolf-like demon with grey fur, pupil-less yellow eyes with a scar on her right eye and messy, long silver hair. She had one black wing and was wearing dirty rags.
“You’re Stolas’ kid, aren’t you?” She asked.
Octavia nodded, “What happened to your…?”
“My other wing? Those cunts ripped it off.” She said with a morbid nonchalance, which made Octavia even more uncomfortable. “Looks like they didn’t have enough fun with me, so they captured a new one.”
Octavia then realised something. The wolf-like appearance, the wings…”You’re Marchosias, right? The Maquess disappeared months ago?”
“In the flesh,” Marchosias sat down next to the owlette. “I’ve been training to escape this shithole all this time, but they always capture me back. Now, even if I try to melt the bars with my fire breath, it won’t work.”
Frightened again, Octavia hugged her knees. “W…What are they going to do to us?”
“...I wish I knew. It’s either for studying us, Demons, or to simply torture us.” Marchosias glanced at her missing wing. “How did you get here? How did they take you?”
“I…I wanted to see the stars with my dad,” said Octavia, “But…He completely ignored it. So, took the Grimoire and ended up here, where I got captured.”
“Maybe your father is already on the mov-”
“No, he’s not!” Octavia shouted, and tears began falling down her face. “He won’t come to save me, I know it. He couldn’t be bothered to keep his promise, why would he be for saving his only fucking daughter?! He probably didn’t even realise what happened to me, he’d rather spend time either shouting at my mum or fuck that red asshole!” The owlette started crying, “J-Just…Why does he hate her more than he loves me…?”
Marchosias gave her a hug, attempting to calm Octavia down.
“It’s been a while since I last met your father…But I don’t think he does.” She said. “Believe me, knowing him, he’s probably shaking like a leaf in panic as he desperately tries to find you.” She wiped the teen’s tears off.
“...I really hope so.” said the owlette.
As the TARDIS team walked through the forest, Stolas started shivering from nervousness. Blitzo was the first to notice that.
“What is it now, Stolas?” He asked.
“O-Oh, well…” said Stolas, “I was just wondering…I was wondering if we were still on time to save Via.”
“What?! Of course we are! Why would you think that?” Blitzo asked.
“Oh, no! I’m sure we are in time, but…” said Stolas, “I have a…Terrible feeling about this, Bltizo. So many questions and doubts…Did she run away because of me?”
“Look, Stolas, we’re gonna find her soon, okay? And you’ll ask her directly, so calm your tits down.” said Blitzo, reassuring the owl Demon in his own way.
Then, they noticed a large medieval castle far in the distance and hid behind a tree.
“Octavia should be somewhere there.” said Loona.
“Alright, here’s the plan!” said Blitzo; “Loona will distract those two guards, then, we’ll storm inside, save Stolas’ kid, take the book and then we all fuck off happily!”
“And how is a goth girl supposed to distract two armed guards?” the Doctor asked.
Loona scoffed, “Hello? Have you seen me? Humans always drool over me in my human disguise.”
“Sure, maybe a bunch of horny teenagers would do, unless the guy who kidnapped Octavia is a fucking idiot, there’s no way trained soldiers will be fooled.”
“Watch me.” Loona walked towards the guards…Who were immediately lured by her looks. Blitzo then took the opportunity and shot them both in the head.
The Doctor was flabbergasted. “Well…I stand corrected. He really is a fucking idiot.”
They entered the castle.
“Time to split up,” said the Doctor. “Moxxie, Millie and Stolas, you go rescue Octavia. Blitzo, Loona and I will look for the book.”
“Hold on! Since when are you the one in charge, Eyebrows?” said Blitzo.
“Oh, I don’t know, the ship is mine and I actually have eyebrows,” said the Doctor, “Now, GO!”
The group split up, unaware that in a dark room, the mysterious kidnapper was observing them.
The Doctor, Loona and Blitzo arrived in a library.
“Alright, let’s start searching here.” Him and Loona began searching every book, while Blitzo remained at the door to guard.
As they searched, the Hellhound attempted to talk with the Time Lord.
“So…You and Millie…?” She asked. Her tone sounded…Jealous, but she didn’t know why.
“Not now, Loona.” the Doctor dismissed her without even looking. But then, he found something odd: A dusty old book with the letters “R.O.M” engraved on it.
“What’s that?” Loona asked.
“R.O.M…I saw this acronym before, back at Beelzebub’s party,” said the Doctor.
He gave a quick read to the book. It was entirely written in Latin, talking about the beginning of creation. But then, a particular name gained his attention…
“‘RADIX OMNIVM MALORVM.'” he read.
“Meaning?” Loona asked.
“It's in Latin, an old Human language, it means ‘Root of All Evil’.” the Doctor explained. “The name sounds oddly familiar…”
“Doctor, look.” Loona found a UNIT dossier hidden in the bookshelf.
“A UNIT dossier?” the Doctor took it and opened it. “And it’s about…Me? Look, there’s information about me, the TARDIS, everytime I was on Earth and my companions! Sarah Jane, Chatterton-I mean, Chesterton, Mel, Anthony…It’s every human companion I had!”
“Why would they have this dossier on you?” Loona asked.
“As they say, know your enemy.” A mysterious voice spoke. The two turned and saw a man wearing a suit under a trenchcoat and a fedora, with an unconscious Blitzo lying down of the floor.
“Dad!” Loona tried to reach Blitzo, but the man pointed the Imp’s gun at the two.
“Oh, no no no!” He said, “I don’t think it’s a wise idea. After all, you Imps and Hellhounds are as mortal as Humans are.”
“Who are you?” the Doctor asked, glaring at the man.
“Hank Arbinger, at your service.” Arbinger said with a smile, “I research unique creatures, such as Demons…And you, Doctor: A traveler among the stars who has saves this planet so many times.”
“Someone did their homework,” the Doctor snarked, “Now, mind telling why the fuck did you kidnap a teenager?”
“We needed the blood for an Ars Goetia, but alas, the other one was too old,” said Arbinger.
“‘Other one’?” Loona repeated.
“We found another one months ago, but her blood was useless, so I decided to let the boys have some ‘fun’ with her. But now that we got the younger one…Her blood will be one step closer to Her return.”
“Who’s ‘Her’?” the Time Lord asked.
“The reason, you, I and everyone in Creation. The Mother of Darkness, Mistress of Malice… The Goddess of Evil. ” said Arbinger. “And I am her humble Harbinger. My mistress can’t wait to meet you, Doctor, perhaps he will spare your life for last.”
“How very kind of her.” the Doctor snarked.
The two more guards entered the room, pointing their rifles at our heroes.
“Take them away,” said Arbinger, “Let's give our guests the frontseats for Her arrival.”
Loona growled, ready to strike, but the Doctor blocked her and together, they walked away from the library escorted by the guards, with Arbinger carrying Blitzo.
Meanwhile, Stolas, Millie and Moxxie were running in the hallways of the dungeon, taking the chance that most guards were patrolling another part of the castle.
“Via!” Stolas called for his daughter, “Where are you?! Via!!”
“Stolas, over here!” Marchosias shouted.
The trio arrived at the cell, but Octavia was nowhere in sight.
“Marchosias?!” said Stolas, “What are you doing here? We thought you were dead!”
“Believe me, I wished I was dead.” said Marchosias, “Those assholes took Octavia, I don't know where to.”
Stolas cuts the bars in half using an axe made of cosmic energy.
“Come, there’s no time to waste!” said Stolas.
“Do you think Blitzo, Loona and the Doctor have found the Grimoire?” Moxie asked.
“Maybe the Doctor alone, but with Blitzo they’re probably in trouble, knowing his luck,” said Millie.
And boy, if she was right! The Doctor, Loona and Blitzo (now conscious) were tied up to a chair as unwilling spectators of an upcoming ritual. With all the cultists wearing black and red robes with white eyes all over it gathered around the pentagram, Arbinger walked towards the three. “You should be honoured, you three. You shall be the first to witness Her arrival!”
“Wow, fucking geat! A shadow MILF returning from fucking off!” Blitzo mocked, but Arbinger’s smile didn’t falter. He snapped his fingers, and two cultists entered the room, dragging Octavia along, who desperately tried to free herself.
“Let me go, you fuckers!” She yelled.
“There she is/Octavia!” the three said in unison.
“Oh, hush now, there’s no need to be scared, ” said Arbinger, “Sure, everything will be over…And you will be happy…” He slowly pulled a knife out of his jacket, until…
“You’re not a Human, are you, Mr. Arbinger?” said the Doctor.
Arbinger turned to the Time Lord. “Pardon?”
“I’ve noticed your behaviour. You act like you’re so distant from Humans. Sure, you may just be one of the many nutjobs I’ve met in my life, but adding that to the dead UNIT soldiers without wounds and the ridiculous surname I can’t help but ask… What are you? ”
Arbinger still smiled softly. “As I told you, Doctor, I am nothing but the Harbinger. Now, let’s begin with the ritual!”
“Yes, that’s what you would do…Except that you made one big mistake for someone who did research on me,” said the Doctor.
“And that would be?” Harbinger raised an eyebrow. The Doctor smirked smugly, saying only four words:
“ You let me talk. ”
Suddenly, Loona, now back in her Hellhound form, jumped off her seat and bit a cultist’s arm off.
Panic ensued, Arbinger snapped his fingers and guards stormed into the room. “Seize them!”He then ran off with Octavia as a hostage.
“Go chase that asshole! Loonie and I will take care of them!” said Blitzo. The Doctor obliged and went to the chase.
Finally free to use his Seraph form, the Doctor flew off to the top tower of the castle, where Arbinger was pointing Blitzo’s gun at Octavia’s temple.
“Looks like we’ve reached a stalemate, Doctor!” said Arbinger, his tone still eerily calm. “What will be your move?”
“Let her go, you have nowhere to run, Arbinger.” said the Doctor, “Those Demons have probably already dealt with your subordinates, so whatever cultist staff you were trying to do, it's all over now.”
Arbinger laughed. “‘It's all over’? Oh, Doctor…It's far from being all over. She has eyes everywhere, and She has followers everywhere! Soon you'll meet Her, Doctor, and that will be your doom!”
Arbinger exploded in a dark and crimson mist, engulfing the Doctor and Octavia and making them fall unconscious. Before he fainted the two heard a female voice, with an arpeggio-like laugh, sounding soothing…Yet eerily sinister.
“ha-ha-HA- HA- HA-ha-ha!”
The Doctor then saw two eyes with crimson sclera and luminescent white irises looking at him for a brief second, before fainting.
Minutes later, the Doctor woke up and looked around. He was still on the highest tower, but Arbinger was nowhere in sight. He looked at Octavia, who was still lying on the ground and gently ruffled her feathers.
“Octavia, wake up.” He said.
The owlette slowly opened her eyes. “Wha…” She quickly moved away after she realised who she was looking at. She couldn't believe her eyes, that angel…That
angel who crashed in her room several years ago…Looking like it's been a mere day.
The Doctor noticed the teen's shocked expression. “Huh…Are you alright?”
“It's…It's you…” Octavia, struggling to find the right words. “‘The Doctor’, isn't it?”
“Yes, that's me.” the Doctor was surprised that she already knew his name, but he had the feeling that it was better not to investigate. He stood up and offered her his hand. “Let's go, your father is looking for you.” He changed to his human form. “Oh and, don't tell the others about my appearance, okay?”
Octavia nodded, took his hand and the two went downstairs.
They went back to the library where the IMP crew, all covered in blood (Human blood, of course) were waiting for them, with Loona holding the Grimoire
“Via!” Stolas went to hug his daughter, “Thank Lucifer you're alright! Oh, what would possess you to do something like this? You know I haven't taught spells like this yet!”
“I'm sorry, Dad, I…I just wanted to see the stars, like you promised.” Octavia looked away.
“The stars?” Stolas then gasped, realising what she meant. “Azathoth’s Tears! Oh, my sweet Via, I am so sorry. It completely went out of my mind.”
“It's okay, Dad. You're here now.” Octavia gave him a small smile.
“I told ya he would come.” Marchosias smirked.
“You said that you wanted to see the stars, right, Octavia?” said the Doctor, “I think I can fix that.”
After calling UNIT to let them deal with the mess, the group stepped into the TARDIS, with Octavia covering her eyes per Stolas and the Doctor’s request for a ‘surprise’.
“Okay, Octavia, you can open your eyes now.”
Octavia opened her eyes and remained speechless for two minutes.
“Welcome to the TARDIS, Octavia.” said the Doctor, “We can-”
“This is a spaceship, right?” Octavia interjected.
“Huh, yes, yes it is.” said the Doctor.
“I'm…I'm on a spaceship. I'm on a spaceship! I'M ON A FUCKING SPACESHIP!” said Octavia, each time more and more excited, as she jumped up and down in joy and ran on the ramps around the console. “WOOHOO!”
The Imps were flabbergasted from the usually moody teen reacting like a gleeful child, while the Doctor, Stolas and Marchosias couldn't help but chuckle.
“Someone's excited,” the Doctor said the understatement of the day.
“You're kidding, right?!” Octavia went back to the Doctor, “I've read so many sci-fi books when I was a kid, and now I'm now on an actual spaceship!” Her eyes were sparkling .
The Doctor chuckled, “And that's not all, Octavia! He pressed a few buttons and pulled down the lever. The TARDIS dematerialised from Earth and dematerialised in space.
“Now…Open the doors.”
Octavia opened the doors and saw it…Azathoth's Tears.
“I travelled back in time for a few hours to see it. This box is also a time machine,” the Doctor explained.
“It's fucking what now ?” said Blitzo.
Stolas smiled. “Thank you, Doctor, for helping us save my daughter and for this. I'm in your debt.”
“No need to thank me, it's just what I do.” said the Doctor.
So, Octavia and Stolas enjoyed the view, sitting on the rooftop of the TARDIS, the Doctor was at the console, deep in his thoughts.
“Radix Omnium Malorum…The Goddess of Evil…A being somehow connected to Hell.” He thought. “Who is she? And ..What was that giggle I heard? Was it hers? One thing for sure…I'll have to investigate.”

Chapter Text
As the TARDIS levitated calmly in the Time Vortex, the Doctor was sitting in the console room, comparing and analysing the evidence.
Not only does he have to deal with the Master and wherever he's planning, but now there's also a new player in the field: The so-called "Goddess of Evil". Who is she, exactly? And what did the Harbinger mean by "She has eyes everywhere"? Are there more cultists? Is the Master related to this?
"I can't catch a fucking break, can I?" the Doctor sighed in exhaustion. "Cultist nutjobs, that fucking douchebag who doesn't know when to give up...Wasn't this supposed to be fun?"
He stood up and walked around the console for two minutes. "Oh, screw it! I'll take a break, I can't keep going like this. "
The Doctor pulled down the lever on the console, making the TARDIS materialise in the Pride Ring. He changed into his Hellhound form and went outside.
And so, he walked. And walked. And walked, ignoring the chaos surrounding. The Doctor had no idea what was happening to him. Since he regenerated, he became so...Exhausted of everything. And after he escaped, his 'condition' did nothing but worsen, and his being alone in the TARDIS for so much time doesn't help at all.
Then, the Doctor stopped in his tracks as a poster on a bar caught his attention: A pole dance performance by a familiar face...Angel Dust.
Ah, Angel Dust - or rather, Anthony de' Marconi - the only person he already knew when he first arrived at the Hazbin Hotel. He used to travel with him in the TARDIS many centuries back when he thought wearing that hideous rainbow coat was fashionable. Maybe he should visit him, to see how Charlie and the others are at the Hote-
Then, his phone rang. The Doctor answered the call: "Yes?"
"Greetings, Doctor." A posh voice spoke: It was Stolas. "I hope I'm not bothering you at the moment."
"What is it, Stolas?" the Doctor asked.
"Well...Would you mind coming here at my mansion? It's about Octavia," said Stolas.
The Doctor sighed, ruffling his hair. "...I'm on my way." He closed the call and headed back to the TARDIS.
The TARDIS materialised at Stolas' mansion. The Doctor stepped out of the box and knocked on the door.
An Imp butler opened it.
"Good afternoon, I'm the Doctor," said the Time Lord, "His Highness Prince Stolas summoned me here."
"Come in." The butler let the Doctor inside. "I shall inform the Prince of your arrival shortly."
The butler left while the Doctor waited in the entrance hall.
Minutes later, Stolas arrived.
"Welcome, Doctor," he said as he descended the stairs to greet him. "Thank you for coming."
"Don't worry about that," said the Doctor. "So, what's the matter with Octavia?"
The two walked through the hallway as Stolas explained.
"In case you're not aware, my family is going through a... Turbulent divorce," He said. "And since the kidnapping incident back in the Human realm, I've finally noticed that the one suffering the most is Via."
"And what do I have to do with this?" the Doctor asked.
"You see, I think my little starlight deserves some distraction from all this. Perhaps she could join you on one of your trips, like a quick holiday!" said Stolas.
"Bringing Via with me?" the Doctor thought about it. "...Alright, I'm in."
"Splendid!" Stolas hooted happily. "Via will be overjoyed!"
"I'll wait for her outside," the Doctor went back to the TARDIS. A couple of minutes later, Octavia left the mansion and reached the blue box.
"Hey, Doctor." She said, with a soft smile on her face. "Sorry for keeping you waiting."
"Oh, not at all, Via," said the Doctor, "Ready to wander through Time and Space?"
Octavia nodded, and the two stepped inside the police box. "So, where are we going?"
"You'll find out when we'll be there," the Doctor set off the coordinates. "Oh, and you might need a Human disguise, there aren't many Avian-like beings near that place."
"Don't worry, I've been practising that spell for days," said Octavia. She closed her eyes, cosmic energy engulfed and body, and in a matter of instants, her appearance changed. She now looked like a rather pretty Human teenage girl with fair skin, with long black/grey-ish hair, bright pink eyes and soft purple eyeshadow on her eyelids.
"So...How do I look?" She asked.
The Doctor smiled softly, "Fantastic."
Octavia was surprised by the compliment. "O-Oh...Thanks, Doctor."
"Now, off we go!" the Doctor pulled down the lever and the TARDIS dematerialised.
After a while, the TARDIS finally landed. The Doctor and Octavia stepped out of the box, with the former now donning his Human disguise and the latter covering her eyes for the "surprise".
"Okay, you can open your eyes, Via," said the Doctor.
Octavia obliged and saw where the two were. A large, futuristic amusement park, with a myriad of people - some humanoid, some not - walking and trying the various attractions.
"Welcome to Puzzleworld, the greatest amusement park on this side of the universe," said the Doctor. "I hope it is to your liking."
"You...Brought me to an amusement park? I'm not a kid, you know?" said Octavia, slightly disappointed.
"Well, what's the point of being a grown-up if you can't act like a kid sometimes?" said the Doctor, "We're not in Hell anymore, so it's not made terribly on purpose." He held her hands, "We'll have fun, I promise, you don't need to keep the 'tough emo' facade with me, not after seeing you jumping around in my TARDIS like a giddy child."
Octavia blushed from embarrassment and then sighed in defeat. "Fine, I give up...If anything, it doesn't look like a shitty knock-off, I give it that."
A grin formed on the Doctor's face. "Attagirl! Now, let's go!"
And so, the two went inside the park, ready to have some good fun for once.
Meanwhile, an ominous-looking spaceship approached the planet's orbit...
As much as Octavia hated to admit, thinking she was now too mature for stuff like this, she had a lot of fun at Puzzleworld, with all its attractions, it was miles better than Loo Loo Land. And here, stuff actually works!
But now that she thought about it, the reason she had fun the most was the very same person who escorted her: the Doctor. He was probably even happier than she of being here, especially with someone. He also has been behaving...Oddly, around the owlette.e. He didn't sound tired like he usually was, but relaxed and almost cheerful. And the way he treated her was...Gentle, doting, like he was much, much older than he looked.
"So, what do you think of this place, Via?" the Doctor asked, "Is it enough for...Your 'mature' taste?"
"I guess it is," She said with an apathetic tone, but then it slightly warmed up when she gave the Time Lord a small smile, "Thanks...Thanks for bringing me here, Doctor. Really, I needed some fresh air."
"Trust me, you're not the only one," said the Doctor. "I was growing tired of seeing pain, misery and shit like that all around everytime I wanted to have a walk."
"Come, ladies and gentlemen, come!" A man wearing a top hat shouted from a stand. "Come and try to win marvellous prizes!"
The man noticed the Doctor and Octavia. "You, good sir!" He said, "Would you like to try winning wonderful prizes for your beautiful daughter?"
"'Daughter'?" The two travellers looked at each other in confusion.
"Well, why not?" the Doctor approached the stand and grabbed the laser gun. He then shot all the targets without any sort of difficulty and won the prize.
"There you go." He handed it to Octavia: A silver medallion with a yellow star engraved on it. "I think it suits you."
Via didn't say anything, just giving a couple of glances at the Time Lord. "'Daughter', huh..." Then, she noticed a giant blue cube at the end of the street. "Doctor, what's that?"
"That's the Game Cube, the main attraction of this park." He explained, "A VR simulation 'where anything could happen'...Or at least that's how they advertise it."
"Sounds...Interesting. Let's try it." She said.
"As you wish, Your Highness." He said with a blatantly fake posh accent.
"Oh, shut up!" She laughed as he punched his arm softly.
And so the two headed towards the Game Cube.
Meanwhile, in the engine room beneath the Game Cube, a guard was...Well, guarding the machines.
It was a boring job, to be honest - Standing in a dusty room for hours while absolutely nothing happened.
But unfortunately for him, this was the day something really bad would happen.
Suddenly, the guard heard some metallic noises coming from a dark zone of the room. He went to investigate, but then...
*BZZZZT!*
The guard was electrocuted by...Something. Then, something stepped out of the shadow: It was a plain-looking man, with short brown hair and...Acting oddly. Like a robot, you might say.
The figure marched towards the server rooms, now completely unguarded, and inserted a silver USB in one of the ports.
"Leader, Virus insertion has been completed." He said.
From the spaceship, a robotic being made of metal and with side-handles on top of their "helmet" clenched his fist.
"EXCELLENT."
In the Game Cube, hundreds of people entered and sat inside the various pods, with the operators attaching the soon-to-be players to the machines.
"See you in the Virtual World," said the Doctor to Octavia.
The Game Cube was on...And so was the virus.
Let the game begin.
The players appeared in the hub world.
"Woah..." said Octavia, looking around and then at her hands. "Where...Where are we? I feel dizzy..."
"Inside the simulation," the Doctor explained, "We must be in a dream-like state to create something like this."
The Doctor and Octavia looked at the several portals surrounding them. They were about to make a step closer until suddenly, everyone heard an almost deafening siren.
"THE FUCK IS THIS NOISE?!" Octavia shouted in pain.
Then, the alarm stopped blaring, and a robotic voice started speaking.
"WELCOME, PLAYERS." It said, "THIS SIMULATION HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER. DO NOT BE ALARMED, THE GAMES WILL HAPPEN, BUT THE RULES HAVE CHANGED: THOSE WHO WILL FAIL TO COMPLETE THE GAMES WILL BE DELETED."
The players began to panic, and Octavia was getting nervous...And the Doctor looked pretty much annoyed.
"YOU MAY PROCEED WITH THE GAMES."
Then, the portals around the hubworld lit up, each of a different colour.
"Huh...Okay, what the fuck is going on?" Octavia asked.
The Doctor sighed deeply, like all of this was just a mere inconvenience. "Every single fucking time..." He muttered.
"Why are you acting like this is normal?!" Octavia asked, with a slight panic in her voice. "Hello?! We're about to get fucking killed!"
"So, today's Tuesday, then," said the Doctor, "Look, Via, just trust me, okay? Stick with me and you'll get out of here safe and sound. And besides..." a grin appeared on his face, "This is the fun part of the trip."
The Doctor, followed by a reluctant Octavia, approached and stepped into the portal.
"So, got any idea who's behind this?" Octavia asked as she emerged from the portal with the Doctor.
"No, no idea," said the Doctor, "Though I have a theory, hearing how that voice spoke. I'm surprised, they learned to do something original."
"Who learn-WOAH!"
Before Octavia could fall into the abyss, the Doctor grabbed her arm in time.
"Careful," said the Doctor.
"Right, sorry," said Octavia.
They and the players looked in front of them, showing a very long course full of deadly obstacles.
"We...We have to go through that?!" Octavia was shocked.
"An obstacle course, a classic," said the Doctor with nonchalance.
"THE RULES OF THE GAME ARE SIMPLE: REACH THE END OF THE COURSE WITHIN 5 MINUTES. PLAYERS WHO WILL FAIL TO COMPLY WILL BE DELETED."
An alarm went off as the players began to run...To their doom, for most of them. Within the first 3 minutes, several players got either killed or hit by the obstacles, leading to fall into the dark abyss. The Doctor and Octavia didn't have these sorts of problems, for the former was used to running and jumping around, and the latter used small barriers she created to use as platforms.
Then, the two finally reached the end and jumped into the port, returning back to the hubworld.
"That was fun!" said the Doctor, laughing.
"No...It...Wasn't..." said Octavia, panting heavily. " I'm not...Used...To run this...Much..."
"That's how I live, you'll get used to it," said the Doctor.
While sitting on the ground to rest, Octavia noticed something in the sky: A giant number in Roman Numerals.
"LIV...54?" She said.
"Must be the remaining players," said the Doctor, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5...Yeah, 54 players left."
"Already? Weren't we more than a hundred?" Octavia commented.
"We were. The situation is getting dire." the Doctor looked at the other players: Some were frightened, some were paralysed from the shock of seeing their loved ones perish, and there were even children crying.
And of course, it wasn't that Via was all happy and excited to be here. She was scared, to say the least. Sure, Hell isn't the safest place in all of Creation, but she has never risked her life so much before, not even with her kidnapping by the cultists.
Then, the Doctor sat down next to her. "Are you scared?" He asked.
"What kind of question is that?! Of course I'm scared!" Octavia lashed out, "Half of the players died in the first game! And we're gonna be next, I'm sure! I...i..." She began to weep and make sad twittering sounds.
Then, the Doctor gently petted her head.
"It's normal to be scared, Via. Fear makes companions of us all. And I swear it on my title..." He held her hands, "I will get you out of here, Via, you will return home safe and sound."
Octavia looked surprised, then chuckled softly as she wiped off her tears. "You're good with words, you know?"
"Oh, I know, many people told me," said the Doctor. "Ready for the next game, Princess?"
Octavia smiled with determination, "Yeah, I'm ready...And don't call me 'Princess'."
"As you wish, 'Princess'."
"Stop it!" She laughed.
And so, the two headed towards the next game, along with the rest of the players.
Meanwhile, outside in space, the Cyber-Leader was observing the planet.
A Cyberman entered the room. "LEADER." It said, "47 HUMANS HAVE LOST THE GAME, WE ARE PREPARING THE CONVERSION PROCESS."
"EXCELLENT," said the Cyber-Leader, "WE SHOULD HAVE AN ENTIRE CYBER LEGION READY BY THE END OF THE DAY. HAVE THERE BEEN ANY PROBLEMS?"
"WE HAVE FOUND TWO ANOMALIES, LEADER," said the Cyberman.
"WHAT SORT OF ANOMALIES?" The Cyber-Leader asked.
"THERE IS THE DOCTOR AMONG THE PLAYERS, AND HIS COMPANION IS NOT FROM THE KNOWN UNIVERSE."
"THE DOCTOR IS HERE?" said the Cyber-Leader, "WE SHALL OBSERVE HOW HE WILL PERFORM. HE COULD BECOME A VALUABLE PIECE FOR OUR LEGION."
Meanwhile, inside the ship, screams of pain and terror could be heard from the unfortunate souls who were going through the Cyber-conversion...
The Doctor and Octavia entered the second game. They were now inside a plain living room, with a note right on the table.
The Doctor took it and read:
'If you wish to escape this place,"
"Then open your eyes when you're at the base."
"But beware, oh traveller! Because if you don't soon leave this room,"
"Then you will lie inside your digital tomb."
"How comforting." Octavia hid her fear behind some good ol' snark.
"The virus that infected the simulation must have altered it, or else the park would start collecting lawsuits," said the Doctor, as he started looking around the room, "'Open your eyes and begin the chase'...What does it mean?"
Octavia glanced outside the window: This time, the Roman numeral was down to XLII. "42 players left..."
"Ignore that number in the sky, Via, you'll only get distracted," said the Doctor. "Come help me instead!"
"Right!" said Octavia.
The two travellers started searching around every single corner of the room, hoping to find the solution to the riddle.
Then, Octavia moved the painting and suddenly a mechanism activated, making some stairs appear in the centre of the room and heading down into a dark pit.
"After you," said the Doctor.
They went down the stairs. When they reached the bottom, Octavia created a purple flame around her hand to light up the room slightly and make visible a large wooden pole, seemingly holding the higher floor.
But then, the two noticed a faint light coming out of a hole on the other side of the room. As Via approached the wall, several drawings appeared near it.
"Thermochromic ink only reacts with a source of heat nearby, the Doctor quickly explained.
"Maybe this is the solution to the riddle? The 'Open your eyes when you're at the base' part," said Octavia.
"Well, let's check it out, shall we?" the Doctor looked inside the hole.
"What do you see?" She asked.
"I think I see...A door! That must be the exit," said the Doctor, "If only we could tear this wall down..."
Octavia looked around and found something interesting. "Maybe these could help?" She handed it to the Doctor...Some dynamite.
A grin appeared on his face. "Not bad,"
Octavia lit up the dynamite, threw it at the wall, and she and the Doctor ran off to safety, with the former creating a shield.
After it exploded, the Doctor and Octavia stepped into the hole cautiously,
Suddenly, the hole disappeared and the two found themselves in a brand new room. This time, it was completely empty and made of grey walls. In front of them, there were three symbols: A lit-up purple heart on the right, where Octavia was, and two blue hearts on the left, which were turned off.
The Doctor read the message on top of the symbols:
"Now that the end is near,"
"It's time for you to reveal your fear"
"Confess to your comrade all your discomfort"
"So that perhaps now you'd find some comfort."
"Two blue hearts on the left, one purple heart on the right..." said Octavia.
Then, the Doctor had an idea.
"Via...How many hearts have you got?" He asked.
"Huh...Just one?" The owlette was confused by the Doctor's question. "What, do you Angels have more than one heart?"
"I'm not an Angel, but yes, I've got two hearts," said the Doctor, "These symbols represent us. You already vented with me earlier, so that's why the purple heart is on."
"Okay, then...What about you?" Via asked, "Is there...Something that bothers you?"
"Me? No, not at all, I'm fine!" said the Doctor with a fake smile, "Completely fine! Just...I came here because I wanted to relax, take a break, but nooooooo! Those fucking tin-soldiers had to come in and ruin my day again! And I have to clean up this mess because apparently Charlie's grandpa made me the fucking janitor of the universe!" As he vented, the Doctor's human disguise slowly faded as his halo appeared, and eyes appeared on his body.
He then sat down on the ground. "I...I'm sorry, Via, for bringing you into this mess. I just wanted you to have fun."
"...I had," Octavia said, sitting down next to him. "Sure, my heart skipped more than a beat a few times, but I really had fun coming here. It helped distract me from...What's happening at home." She gave him a soft smile, "And trust me, I really needed it."
Suddenly, the blue hearts lit up, and the wall began to move, creating an exit.
"We did it...We won!" said Octavia.
"Let's not celebrate already, Via, our captors are still at large outside the simulation," said the Doctor as the two stood up. "Ready?"
Octavia nodded, "Let's go!"
The two ran towards their freedom.
Later, a Cyberman patrolled the pods room and noticed two pods were open and empty.
"WARNING. THE DOCTOR AND THE COMPANION HAVE ESCAPED. CAPTURE THEM AND BRING THEM TO THE CYBER-LEADER IMMEDIATELY."
And thus, the Doctor and Octavia were now on a race against Time.
"Those things that kidnapped us - What do they do, again?" She asked.
"The Cybermen want nothing but to assimilate every single lifeform in the universe, making them just like them - Completely void of emotion, death would be a mercy in comparison," the Doctor explained. "But, if we're lucky enough, they should still be weak to anything made of gold."
After a long run, the two wanderers reached the entrance of the park, where the TARDIS was guarded by a Cyberman.
"We need to distract him in some way..." Octavia whispered.
"Leave it to me," the Doctor made a control panel explode with his sonic screwdriver, making the Cyberman leave to investigate. The Time Lord and the owlette rushed into the TARDIS and took off.
"And now, into the den of the lions," said the Doctor.
The TARDIS landed inside the Cybermen's spaceship. The Doctor was the first to step stealthily out of the box, followed by Octavia.
The two walked down the corridors, hoping not to get detected.
They heard screams of pain, noises of saws cutting through flesh. Octavia was rather disturbed by the noises, but the Doctor kept moving with nonchalance.
At last, the two reached the control room, which was suspiciously empty. Octavia remained by the door to guard while the Doctor began tampering with the controls, but suddenly, they heard metallic footsteps coming towards them...
"Doctor, they're coming!" Octavia whispered.
"Hang on, I've almost finished-"
"DOCTOR." The Cyber-Leader, followed by two other Cybermen, entered the room. "WE MEET AGAIN."
"Cyber-Leader," the Doctor turned nonchalantly. "It's been a while, hasn't it? Corrupting a virtual simulation with a virus and converting the losing players, and I thought you removed creativity along with your emotions."
"WE MUST EVOLVE TO SURVIVE," the Cyber-Leader explained, "THIS PLANET ATTRACTS A LARGE TRAFFIC OF LIFEFORMS, SO WE DECIDED TO CONVERT IT INTO A BASE."
"A good plan, pity I happened to be around. Now, have fun exploding!" the Doctor used the sonic screwdriver on the control panel, causing it to start exploding. "RUN!"
Using the distraction, the two ran off from the Cybermen. As they dodged the Cybermen's blasters, the Doctor snapped his fingers and the two jumped into the TARDIS, which dematerialised quickly.
Then...
BOOOM!!
The Cyberman ship exploded.
"Huh...Doctor?" said Octavia, "Weren't there...Also Humans in that ship?"
"I know, but they were probably under conversion, which is irreversible," the Doctor explained, "Death is a mercy compared to that. And besides, I already have loads of blood on my hands, I can handle a few more. Now, I'm bringing you home, It's been a long day, I'll deal with this stuff later."
Octavia didn't raise any objection as the TARDIS flew through the Time Vortex, although she felt a rather...Tense air during the flight.
After a while, the TARDIS materialised back at Stolas' mansion. Octavia was heading to the door until she stopped in her tracks and asked a question.
"Do you...Have a family, Doctor?"
This hit a little too close to home for the Time Lord. "...Like everyone. Why?"
"Because, thinking of the way you treated me at the park and what that guy said...I'd definitely see you as a parent, maybe even a grandfather."
As he looked at Octavia, giving a small smile, just for that instance, hearing that last word, he didn't see the owlette, but someone completely different:
A tall teenage girl with brown eyes, short dark hair and pale skin.
The Doctor shook his head, and his vision returned to normal.
"I'll see you around, Doctor." Octavia left the TARDIS.
The Doctor turned to the console, the silence seemed to amplify his darker thoughts.
He facepalmed and let out a defeated sigh. "Fucking great, now I'm starting to hallunicate...I'm happy you don't have to see me in this state...Susan."

Summary:
When Blitzo ask the Doctor to help him find his sister, things sure do happen.
Chapter Text
At Paradise City, capital of Heaven, an Inquisitor entered the High Seraphim’s office.
“Your Holiness.” She kneeled before Sera.
“Ah, Captain,” said Sera, “How is the redeemed Sinner doing?”
“The former Sinner is behaving, Your Holiness, he hasn’t partaken in sinful activities since he arrived.”
“Excellent news,” a satisfied smile appeared on Sera’s face. “Anything else?”
The Inquisitor Captain looked slightly nervous behind the mask. “Well…The Exorcists have reported an unidentified object flying towards here, passing over the Pearly Gates.”
“What object?” Sera asked. Even though deep down, she might already have an idea of what it could be…
“A…Police Box, Your Highness.”
“WHAT?!” Sera shouted, eyes appeared on her chest and wings, but quickly disappeared as she regained composure. “Find that box and bring who’s inside he-”
“No need, I’m already here.” A male Scottish voice interjected: It was the Doctor, in his Seraph form.
“Doctor!” said Sera, trying to sound as much formal and polite as possible, “I didn’t expect to see you here so soon.”
“Never been a fan of taking appointments,” said the Doctor, as he walked towards the desk. “I’m here for a private chat with you, Sera.”
Sera gulped and then looked at the Inquisitor. “You are dismissed, Captain.”
The Captain saluted the two and left, leaving the High Seraphim alone with the Time Lord.
“So, how can I help you, Doctor?” The Seraph asked.
“Radix Omnium Malorum, the Root of all Evil,” said the Doctor, “Does this name ring a bell to you?”
Sera looked surprised, “Whe…No, it doesn’t.”
It was clear for the Doctor that Sera was lying to him, but he decided to back down. “Alright. I’ve heard that name back on Earth, a group of cultists kidnapped two Ars Goetia demons, and in Hell someone tried to attack the Sin of Gluttony. But since you know nothing, I guess I’ll have to continue with my research…”
The Doctor was heading to the exit until-
“...It’s the reason Lucifer fell.” She said, “This information could be useful.”
“..I see.” the Doctor left. Sera took a sigh of both relief and exhaustion.
As the TARDIS flew through the Time Vortex, the Doctor was observing on the screen the results of a medical examination he made on himself a while ago.
“Completely healthy…” He thought, “Then…What’s wrong with me? Why do I feel…Like this? It’s not the first time I travel alone, last time it happened it was-”
Oh. Right.
Last time it happened…He had just recently erased Donna’s memories. It hurt so much that he refused to take any new companions until he regenerated…
But then, the beeping coming from the console interrupted the Doctor’s thoughts. He went to check what was happening.
It was a message from Loona.
“Hey”
“Do u mind coming here at I.M.P?”
“Blitzo want to ask you something”
“Blitzo wants to talk with me?” the Doctor was surprised. He then replied.
“I’m on my way.”
He set the coordinates to Imp City, and the TARDIS went off.
It materialised right inside the I.M.P. office. The Doctor stepped out of the box, using his Hellhound disguise.
“D-Doctor!” Loona stood up from her desk, her tail wagging. “You came.”
“Well, I had some free time,” said the Doctor, “Where’s Blitzo? You said he wanted to ask me something.”
“He’s in the office, he seems…Oddly moody,” said Loona.
The Doctor entered Blitzo’s office and saw the tall Imp sitting behind the desk, looking at a photo with a saddened expression. He then noticed the Doctor.
“Oh, good, you’re here,” said Blitzo.
“Loona sent me a message. What’s the matter?” the Doctor asked.
“Well, Eyebrow - Doctor, I…Fuck, I can’t believe I’m saying this…” Blitzo handed over the photo to the Time Lord. “I need your help to find this girl.”
The Doctor looked at a photo depicting three Imps, with one of the left clearly being a younger Blitzo. In the middle, there was an older woman with a serene expression and on the right, an Imp who looked nearly identical to Blitzo.
“You want me to…Find your sister?” the Doctor asked.
“Yeah. We…Kinda lost contacts a while go and I’ve got zero fucking idea on how to find her.” Blitzo rubbed his head. “Soooo…You’re in?”
“Sure, hop in the box,” the Doctor said, heading to the TARDIS. “Where was the last place you saw your sister?”
“In a clinic in the Sloth Ring, she was in Rehab,” the Imp explained.
“Well, off to the Sloth Ring we go.” the Doctor set the coordinates in the console, pulled down the lever, and the TARDIS dematerialised.
The TARDIS materialised at the “Belphegor’s Healing Hearts” clinic, in the Sloth Ring.
The Doctor stepped out of the box, followed by Blitzo. “This is the place?”
“Yeah,” said Blitzo. “Alright, here’s the plan: We’re gonna climb on that tree and enter-”
“Why enter from the window?” the Doctor asked.
“Oh, well…I’m…” Blitzo looked away, “I’m not exactly that welcome.”
“I figured,” the Doctor rolled his eyes. I will go from the entrance, hopefully I can distract them long enough for you to enter through the window.”
The Doctor walked into the clinic and went ot talk with the receptionist, a sleepy-looking female Baphomet demon.
“Hello, Dr. John Smith, I’m here to ask a few questions.” the Doctor showed the receptionist his Psychic paper.
The receptionist looked at the paper and then back at the Doctor.
“How can I help you?” She said slowly.
“I’d like to know more about this Imp girl.” the Doctor showed her the photo Blitzo gave him.
“Hmm….Oh yes!” said the nurse. “Her name is Barbie Wire; she left weeks ago.”
“I see…Thank you.” the Doctor left. When he stepped out of the clinic, Blitzo fell face down on the ground.
“Found anything?” the Doctor asked.
“Absolutely jackshit,” said Blitzo as he stood up and cleaned the dirt off his coat. “You?”
“Your sister got out of rehab several weeks ago,” said the Doctor, “She’s probably far from here.”
“Shit…Where the fuck could she possibly be?” said Blitzo.
“I think I know where she is, or rather…” the Doctor turned to the Imp, “You do.” He walked into the TARDIS.
“What? What do you mean?” Blitzo followed him inside the box.
“We’re gonna use a fun little trick to find your sister!” The Doctor pressed a few buttons on the console, and from it emerged a helmet with several wires attached to the machine. “Put this one and think of your sister, Blitzo. Where she could be, what you did with her in the past, anything that is related to her.”
Blitzo nodded and started thinking about anything related to her. Every time they played together, when they trained together for their performances…Their mother singing for them…That day at the Circus…
“And we’ve got a trail! Camp Ivanna...I’m not going to finish reading that in Oregon! Your sister is on Earth, Blitzo!”
The Doctor looked at Blitzo, who looked…Shocked, with a tear rolling down his face.
“Blitzo? Are you okay?” the Time Lord asked, making him snap out of it.
“Huh? Y-Yeah, I’m fine.” He wiped the tear off his face. “You were sayin’?”
“Your sister is on Earth, in some sort of summer camp,” said the Doctor.
“What the fuck is she doing there, selling drugs or something?”
“Probably. There is no reason to go somewhere full of terrifying beasts…”
“Those being?” the Imp asked.
“Human teenagers,” said the Doctor. He then set the coordinates, and the TARDIS went off to their next destination.
The TARDIS materialised at the entrance of Camp Ivanakummore (Yes, it is called like that), in Oregon.
The Doctor and Blitzo stepped out of the blue box, both donning their Human disguises.
"Let's find her as soon as possible, I don't want to stay in this shithole," said Blitzo.
"Me neither. Let's try not to get seen by others...Without looking like nonces, too," said the Doctor.
The two explored the place through the forest, without getting seen by any of the campers.
"Now, if I were a drug dealer, where would I possibly hide to sell my stuff?"
He then noticed a suspicious-looking camp counsellor entering the boathouse.
"...Found it," said the Doctor. HE headed there, along with the Imp.
But meanwhile, there was some...Thing observing the camp, lurking in the bushes.
The Doctor and Blitzo entered the boathouse without being seen. There, they saw the counsellor talking with a mysterious young woman with light brown skin, bright red eyes and long brown hair tied into pigtails. a crossed black birthmark on her forehead, identical to Blitzo's, and was wearing a sleeveless, slightly ripped maroon-and-white-striped turtleneck minidress with a darker red stripe from the chest to the neck, along with thigh-high black boots and a partially torn black jacket over her dress.
"It's her, right?" said the Doctor, "She has your birthmark. Now, let's wait till-"
"BARBIE!" Blitzo came out of his hiding, returning ìto his Imp form.
Both the counsellor and Barbie were startled.
"...Bltizo?!" She was both confused and shocked to see her twin on Earth.
"Oh, for FUCK's sake..." the Doctor facepalmed and came out of the hiding spot.
"What the fuck are you doing here, shithead?!" Barbie asked, resting her hands on her hips.
"I should ask you the same thing!" said Blitzo, "Not only you leave Rehab without telling anyone, but I find you in this shithole with...Who the fuck is this guy?"
"No one, he works for me," said Barbie. She then glanced at the Doctor, "And who's Eyebrows over there?"
"I'm the Doctor, a friend of your brother," said the Doctor.
"Oh, he still has those? You better leave before he fucks up your life, too," said Barbie.
"What do you mean?" the Doctor asked, "I mean, sure, he's a bit of an asshole sometimes, but he's a decent lad...For Hell's standards, at least."
Barbie laughed, "A decent lad? You're good at jokes, Doc! That dumbass turns everything he touches into shit! He's the reason our mom's dead!"
The Doctor was shocked and glanced back at Blitzo, who was looking away in shame.
The Time Lord glanced at the counsellor, "What's your name, kid?"
"Huh...Jimmy," said Jimmy.
"You better leave, Jimmy, things might get heated," said the Doctor.
Jimmy glanced at Barbie,
"Leave, kid." She said. And so, Jimmy left, leaving the three alone.
"Now then...Mind explaining what the fuck did you do, Blitzo?" the Doctor asked.
Barbie scoffed, "Oh, so you didn't even tell him?"
"We...Used to perform at our family's circus: Barb, me...And our friend, Fizz. He wasn't related to us, but he was like family." Blitzo explained.
"That until this fucker got jealous of Fizz and thought it was a great idea burning the entire fucking circus down, heavily injuring Fizz and killing our sick mom in the process!"
"That's-" Blitzo couldn't find the right words, "That was-"
"Blitzo..." the Doctor interrupted, "I'd like to speak with your sister alone."
"What?" The Imp assassin was surprised by the sudden request.
"Trust me, please," said the Doctor. Blitzo sighed and left.
The moment he left, oddly enough, Barbie seemed more...Civil now.
"Look, Eyebrows, I don't know what the fuck did Blitzo told to convice you to come with him..." She sighed, "But you should leave him alone. He's gonna ruin you too eventually, he's a lost cause.
"Maybe he is, but if that's the case I have one more reason to stick around," said the Doctor. "Look, Barbie...I haven't known your brother for much time, but from what I learned, he's an utter cretin who doesn't think before doing something, but...Is it really worth it?"
"What'd ya mean?" She asked.
"Blitzo fucked up reeeeeal bad with the Circus...But he's clearly trying to make amends and trust me, I did lots of fuck ups in my life - so many you could make a sci-fi TV show and make it last 60 years - so I know when someone's regretful. It's not worth making yourself ill over it after so much time, for something that's very likely to be an accident."
"So what? You expect me to forget it happened, play happy family with him?" Barbie raised an eyebrow, but despite the defiance, the Time Lord's words seemed to strike a chord within her.
"I didn't say that. You don't have to forget what he did - just to forgive," said the Doctor, "I'm sure he'd love to make you meet his daughter."
"'Daughter'?" Barbie looked puzzled.
Then, Blitzo entered the boathouse.
"Huh...Doc?" He said, "I think you should see this."
The Doctor and Barbie followed Blitzo outside...And saw Jimmy's body dismembered.
"FUUCK!" Barbie shouted, "That guy was my fucking supplier!"
The Doctor approached the corpse and scanned it with the sonic screwdriver. "Looks like the kid died not too long ago; the blood hasn't dried yet." He said, "The way he was mauled...A non-Earthly creature must be y.nearby...Something that's probably...Gonna devour the campers and the counsellors...Not my problem, let's get out of here."
The Imps looked at each other, confused.
"That's...It?" Barbie asked.
"What?" the Doctor turned to them nonchalantly.
"Look, Doc, honestly, I don't give a shit if a bunch of kids die but...Are you sure you wanna leave?" said Blitzo.
"Of course, Blitzo, we came here to look for your sister, and we did it," said the Doctor, "Now, let's get to the TARDIS and I'll-"
"ha-ha-HA- HA- HA-ha-ha!"
Suddenly, as he heard a giggle, the Doctor collapsed on the ground as he writhed in pain.
Blitzo and Barbie (mainly Blitzo), alarmed, helped the Time Lord stand.
"Christ on a stick, Doctor! The fuck was that?!" He said.
"I'm...I'm fine," the Doctor said, standing up. "Let's find that creature."
"Didn't you say you wanted to leave?" Barbie asked.
"Well, surprise! We're not doing that!" said the Doctor, "I just...Did you hear that?"
"Hear what?" Blitzo asked.
"...Nothing. Here's the plan," said the Doctor, "Barbie, you will make the campers evacuate, while Blitzo and I will hunt down the creature. Got your gun?"
"Please, I'm an assassin." Blitzo pulled out his gun from his coat. "I'm always armed."
"Wait, how the fuck am I supposed to evacuate an entire camp?!" said Barbie, "And why me?!"
"Because you're the only civilian out of the three, and you're Blitzo's sister, so you've definitely got bullshit luck. Now, off you go!"
The three split up.
Barbie reached the Counsellors' cabin. There were two of them, but they were too busy making out rather than paying attention to the disguised Imp. So, she went inside and found a radio, connected to a speaker.
"Oh, fuck, I can't believe I'm doing this..." She sighed. Then, she took a deep breath and disguised her voice to sound less raspy than usual. "Helloooooooooooooooooooooo campers! Come to your cabins for a very special surprise!"
Against all expectations, Barbie's stratagem seemed to have worked as the campers began heading towards the cabins.
"Doctor Whoever-the-fuck-you-are, you better know what you're doing..." She thought.
Meanwhile, the Doctor and Blitzo, after returning from the TARDIS, were holding a bunch of tech in their hands.
"What's this stuff supposed to do, Doc?" Blitzo asked.
"This will make the decoy for our human-eating friend, Blitzo," said the Doctor, "It will lure it here and then we'll try it to talk with him.
"And what about you?" Blitzo asked.
"I'll stay here to talk, you can
Blitzo hid among the bushes, ready to shoot when the creature appeared.
The Doctor activated the 'decoy'...Which was playing 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' by Kylie Minogue.
Blitzo looked at him, very much confused.
"What? It's a classic," said the Doctor defensively.
Then, the two heard a loud growl - the decoy was working.
The creature arrived and stopped in front of the Doctor.
"Hello, I'm the Doctor," the Time Lord introduced himself. "Welcome to Earth...Whatever creature you are."
The creature growled at his face.
"Okay, no need to be so angry," said the Doctor, "Now, I wanted to talk with you, trying to..."
"ha-ha-HA- HA- HA-ha-ha!"
The Doctor heard it again, that female voice giggling. Suddenly, his expression became cold. "SHOOT!"
Blitzo obliged and shot the creature in the head five times, making it fall to the ground.
"Ha-HA!" The imp celebrated. "Do you like THAT, bitch?!"
"Huh...Blitzo?"
"Wha-Oh."
The creature stood up again, and the wound caused by the bullets had vanished. If anything, it made him even more pissed off than anything.
"So...Guns don't work. What's the plan now?" the Imp asked.
"The thing I do when I don't have a plan...RUN!"
So, the Doctor and Blitzo ran away for their lives, chased by the creature. The Doctor thought of millions of different plans all the same time - but with the conditions they were in - none of them would work.
"I could use my Seraph, I definitely should have something that can be useful, but then Blitzo...Wait, I think I've got a plan!"
The Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver. "Blitzo, when I say it, jump!"
The Doctor cut several trees with one single move of the screwdriver,
"JUMP!"
The two jumped away, dodging the several trees falling on the monster, knocking him out for good.
"Is he dead?" Blitzo asked, panting.
"Maybe, but it shouldn't bother anyone now," said the Doctor, "We can leave now, I'll call UNIT to clean up the mess."
Barbie then arrived. "Had to use some of the heroin to distract those brats, how's goin-" She looked at the creature with a disgusted look. "Christ on a stick, it's fucking ugly."
She kicked the corpse a few times. "This is for killing my supplier, you fat fuck! Now I'm unemployed because of you!"
At hearing those words, the Doctor had an idea. "I think I can help with that."
He approached her and whispered something in Barbie's ear.
"I have to go there? Fine, I guess..." said Barbie.
"Alright, let's go. I've got a nice surprise for you!" the Doctor walked off.
"Yeah, you're gonna love it, trust me!" Blitzo smiled at his sister...Which quickly faded when Barbia reciprocated with a cold glare. "Barbie, you...That was an accident. I know I'm a massive piece shit, but I'd never do something like to the people I loved. Not to Fizz... Not to Mom..."
"Blitzo..." Barbie's tone sounded less harsh than before, probably out of pity. "I'm not gonna forgive you for what you did at the Circus...But, I'll try to forgive you, you can thank Eyebrows for that."
She walked off, with Blitzo soon following.
They reached the TARDIS.
"That's how we got here, Barbie," said the Doctor, as he went to open the box.
"How? It's a fucking police box," said Barbie.
"Oh, but it's more than just a police box," said the Doctor, "Huh...Deja vu." He went inside the box.
"Yeah sure, what is it, then? Some kind of magical bullshit box that can get big-WHAT THE FUCK?!?!"
As she unknowingly went inside, Barbie was utterly flabbergasted.
"The same reaction as yours, you really are twins," the Doctor commented. "Welcome to the TARDIS, Barbie: Now, let's get back to Hell."
The Time Lord set the coordinates, pulled down the lever, and the TARDIS dematerialised.
After returning to their normal forms (in the Doctor's case, he switched to his Hellhound disguise), the TARDIS made a stop at I.M.P., so that Blitzo could leave.
"Thanks for the ride...And to helping me find Barb," said Blitzo with a soft smile.
"Well, I had nothing to do, so why won't I spend it helping a friend?" said the Doctor, "I'll see you around, Blitzo."
Blitzo left the box, and the TARDIS dematerialised.
"So...What's the place you said they were hiring, Doctor?" Barbie asked.
"They're not exactly 'hiring', but...I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms. I think...It's also time for me to reunite with some old friends."
The Doctor opened the door of the TARDIS, revealing a large, sparkly red-and-gold building on top of a hill and on top of the building, there was also a bright neon sign that read:
HAZBIN
HOTEL
