This is random art for my stories!

This is art for my story 'Try me, I dare you to try me'.
I don't know how to do backgrounds if you can't tell. I don't do them often. I also never colored my art until I started digital art soooo yeah

Percy my beloved! As you can see my Percy has more white hair than in the in the books. I think from holding that sky as a child of the sea, it would have more of a effect on him. Plus, he has just gone through large amounts of stress. So yeah. The face mask idea was from Booksy_Bombus! Demisexual Percy because I just needed to.

 

Sam actually took the longest to figure out because I was trying to figure out what to put for the little inventory section. It still feels a little bare but whatevs. I'm also not sure how good I did on coloring his hands, I hope it's alright. There is no straight demigod.

 

 

Steve's shield is so much better than I thought it would be. I'm so proud of it! There was no way this man is straight,

 

 

Peter is one of my favorites out of all the art. The chem book makes me laugh because what the hell was I thinking with those colors? Percy started making money while being a mercenary and he started hooking his loved ones up, ie. giving Peter headphones and a knife. Trans Peter gives me life.

Bro this is a little rough for the background. But whateves. I find it funny That Percy is a big man with a big dog, so Lea looks close to a normal size when with him. Sam looks tiny next to Percy and that makes me giggle. Lea is based off of my dog btws

They do be arguing. Ignore the funky looking coffee table, I gave up on it cause I would get it to look right. Also no background because I do NOT like doing them.

 

I like to think Percy is flexible he just doesn’t show it off. But Peter challenged him and he was NOT back down. He was going to destroy the kid.

If there are anythings you’d like me to draw let me know! I’m always looking for ideas! I’ve kinda gotten ahead of myself and drawn stuff for installments I haven’t even written yet or are even close to writing so I need ideas.

Also I was thinking of doing a few chapters where I draw a character and then underneath the drawing I add some like fun facts and headcannons about them. But I’m not sure yet. If you have any fun ideas that you think these characters might do, put it down in the comments!!

Chapter 10: Percy Jackson without the mist!!

Summary:

AKA Percy's inhuman features

This was suggested to me by Rogue_Zale and I took it and ran lol.
This turned into an info dump.

This is a collection of drawings of Percy's less than human body parts and characteristics, plus some stuff he hides under the mist!
Under each of the drawings there will be some text just explaining more about it! I had a lot of fun with this and I'm glad somebody asked cause I never would have thought of doing this.

Just a preface. This was supposed to be short and sweet, but then I started nerding out and realized I will never go into details such as these in my actual stories and it got a little crazy and detailed. It was fun tho!!

TRIGGER WARNING: Scars a lot of them

Percy hides under a very thick layer of mist. It's for his protection as well as the mortals around him, because seeing an inhuman person in the way that Percy is inhuman can be a little mind bending in a bad way. All demigods are less than human, some more so than others, the closer a demigod is to their divine parent DNA wise the more inhuman they will be. 

Demigods are unnaturally perfect, so perfect looking in fact that it can be disturbing to some. Demigods and shift into uncanny valley territory. Their facial features are perfectly symmetrical, everything in line and in just the perfect place. Their smiles can stretch just too far at times and their eyes are just slightly too piercing. They move with an inhuman grace, and they can be too fast at times. Their voice too perfect, it carries too well in a room.

It isn’t enough that it’s obvious, it’s barely noticeable to most. But it is just enough to make a sensitive person feel like something is wrong with them. It’s as if they are just slightly to the left of what a human should be.

The mist covers most of this from the mortal eye. It shields the mortals from going crazy and it protect demigods from less than great mortals.

Now, as I said before, the more divine the Demigod the more inhuman they are. This is very true for our beloved Perseus Jackson. Percy wears a thick layer of mist, so when described by other people his inhuman features don’t shine through. He’ll look more palatable for the mortal eye. More human. He also uses the mist to hide his nastier scars. Percy hides himself and only shows this side of him around people he trusts.

Children of Poseidon/Neptune are actually based off of an actual race of people, the Atlanteans. They have more fishlike aspects, and each kid could be different. Percy isn’t based off of any real fish, he is more like his father in the way he just is his own sea creature.

The reason why Percy is so different from past children of Poseidon will be explained in a future installment that I have planned so I won’t be getting into it here. But let’s get started! I all past drawings I have drawn the version of Percy that is hidden by the mist, all of these drawings with be Percy without the mist. I will be adding some of the past art I’ve done of Percy which you can use as reference with these next few drawings if you wish.

Percy has webbed fingers and toes, along with sharp fingernails. He is constantly biting his nails and cuticles though, so he doesn’t let them grow sharp. And if you’re wondering how he wears gloves I’m just going to be honest with you, I did not account for the webbed fingers when doing the gloves. So I’m just going to say he has special gloves made just for him.

The paleness in his hands and feet has to do with Tartarus. I like to think that the death mist had more of a lasting effects on both him and Annabeth. When they were under the death mist’s effects they hands and arms, and legs and feet became completely see through and they were a spirit. I just wanted to add something to show that!

This is my favorite drawing I’m going to be honest. I’m a freak for crazy tongues and sharp teeth and Percy has both. Percy’s teeth do have the ability to grow and then shrink back into a more manageable size. And though I wasn’t able to show it in my drawings, Percy has rows of teeth much like a shark does. 

His hair is constantly floating around his head like it is in water, when he moves it shifts like it would if it were in water as well. Percy’s eyes also just glow all the time. He has no pupils because in my alternate universe he gazed at Tartarus’s true form. At the time he had already lost sight in one eye from the scar going through his eyes. And the scar that was on his lip is much worse than it actually looks with the mist. And my boy had pointed ears!

The laurel was a gift from Poseidon and Amphitrite. It’s silver with blue pearls laces through it. He is not able to take it from his head and only gods and children of the first six gods can see it. It was the Sea’s way of laying it’s claim over him, though let’s be honest they didn’t need to do that.

Percy has scales running along his sides, along with gills. Percy actually struggles to breath normally outside of water, he will constantly take breaks to just lay in water so he can breathe properly. If he’s away from a lake, river, or the ocean he will lay in a bathtub.

Let’s talk about his scars shall we. A lot of them are from monsters, Gods, Giants, and Titans. But some are new and from HYDRA. The Y shaped scar running down his chest is from HYDRA, that is the cut typically used for autopsies. They wanted to see if his insides compared to that of a regular human. I described HYDRA burning Percy, the orange scaring on his back is from that. The scars that are side by side and many straight lines in a row are also from HYDRA.

Now, I’m going to go back the divine scars. I got this idea from somewhere, I believe it’s the File by Denimbeans (don’t quote me on that) and I just thought it was cool. With scars caused by monster, they sparkle golden, because with each monster you kill a bit of the gold dust they dissolve into becomes a part of you. So with each monster you kill you become more and more like them.

Alright, I believe that is all! I’ve left some stuff out because it will be talked about and explained in future installments. But this is all the stuff that I won’t be explaining in the story. It was a whole bunch of info dump. I hope you enjoyed!!

Chapter 16: The Hound and The Winter Soldier

Just some art of two of HYDRA's favorite weapons along with their more sane counterparts.

Percy and the Hound. I made the Hound an actual animal because it runs on primal instincts and fear.

 

 

Did I just realize as I put this up that that's the wrong arm? Yes I did. Do I care enough to try and fix it? Not really. So we'll just ignore it and move on.

 

 

I did this purely to highlight a key difference between the Hound and the Winter Soldier. The Hound runs on pure fear and instinct, its trigger words are rooted in its fear. The Soldier is cold calculated and emotionless. They're both dangerous for different reasons. The Soldier is like a sniper rifle, you can be precise with the kills. The Hound is like a nuclear bomb, you set it loose in a crowded area and everyone dies.

Heyyy guys! Sorry no art. This is just more of an announcement chapter and putting all the playlists in one spot.

First, I just wanted to say that the first like 10 or something installments have been updated majorly. I suggest going through it. You don’t have to or need to, the plot is still the same, I just upped the quality (I totally forgot that word, I had to spend trying to figure out the word that went with my thought). The word count has doubled for almost all of the installment I’ve updated.

Chapter 19: Art dump

As requested. This is another old art. It was drawn around the same time as Percy's character sheet was drawn.

 

 

When I tell you I struggled with Bucky for this. I struggled. I don't know what it was but I just couldn't get him how I wanted him. I just gave up at one point and said good enough.

 

 

There we go. This was basically the concept art for that scene from Well, we can all learn things, both many and a few. If you can't tell from the fact that Percy's hair isn't colorful.

Alpine was easy I did not need to color her much and I appreciate her for that; cause Lea was the exact opposite.

Lea has a service dog vest so Percy can take her everywhere with him. She also is just registered as his service dog anyway.

I couldn't resist doing this with them.

Next art is hopefully gonna be Bucky and Estelle. But who knows, I might hyperfocus on something else.
