Not the city of the man

Summary:

The young prince defended his nation. His people in that forsaken war room. It ended with him burnt and hidden away for three years. So when Azula and Ozai are taken to chains, the prince resurfaces from where he was hidden. The once cheerful and mad temper boy, reduced to a quiet boy who's much more kind to his servants and guards.

How will the Gaang react to the missing prince? His motives are unkown afterall...But what of General Iroh? To the information that his son once nephew being alive, react?

In a nutshell
Zuko is taken into a windowless cell and hasn't been seen for three years whoa !

Chapter 1: Prologue

There’s a prince under the palace’s structure. In a small cozy room with no windows. The servants that are allowed to go down and tend to him are those under silence. Those with no tongues, traitors who became slaves. But they know how kind the little prince is. How long he’s been there. The firelord says there’s no prince. Afterall, The princess is the heiress.

But why did he yell to the avatar, to the ex-heir, Iroh, that he cannot take the throne because Prince Zuko of the fire nation is well and alive and taking over. To continue the war.

Or so he would think.

The room was small, but had a warm atmosphere to it. A theatre mask with dao blades hung on the wall, scrolls of plays and stories surrounded the floor. In front of a mirror a young man with a large burn scar surrounding his once goldeneye was having his hair brushed by one of the tongueless servant.The boy, Prince Zuko, was quietly speaking about the scroll he was given secretly by another servant.

“Prince Zuko…?” A voice called out, startling the prince. It was the first time he’s heard a voice. The people who come down and take care of the basic necessities only spoke through hand gestures he learned and writing through paper. “Hm..?” The servant pulled his hair into a braid. Once finished, he turned around, looking at the unfamiliar figure. That uniform…

“Fire sage..?” He whispered, his words raspy. “Fire sage Aku.” The man supplied, smiling kindly. “Phoenix King Ozai and Firelord Azula have been taken and are unwell to rule. As next in line to the throne, your crowning will be soon.” Zuko blinked at his words in surprise. “I can..leave?” He whispered, unsure. The fire sage blinked, his eyes a mirror of sadness as he looked at the once young prince. Before he could speak, he was cut off by the boy. “Zula? What happened to my sister?”

“The avatar’s group took them in after the attack against the Earth Kingdom. Firelord Azula is currently residing in a cell under the ship of water tribe. Being transported here. It might take a few days. Enough time to be crowned and up to date to recent changes.” Aku said, taking out a scroll as he did so. “Your name…is Chun, yes?” Aku asked the mute servant. She nodded, holding Zuko’s shoulder in silent comfort.

Over the years he’s been down here, the servants that attended him felt more like family than anything else. So he smiled grimly at Chun.

Sitting up from the chair in front of the mirror, he walked towards the fire sage. “Freedom awaits you, young prince.” Fire sage Aku whispered, his voice wobbly. The boy was so young. To be punished like this is awful.

“Yes…thank you, Fire sage Aku.” He smiled. Fire sage reflected his smile with his own, bowing as he pressed his hands into a flame symbol that was commonly used in the nation.

The door opened, the three walked up the thousand or so stairs. Zuko couldn’t keep count. Once the last step was found, a steel door stood in their way. A loud clang of something unlocking was heard and the door sweeped open, light pooling out as Zuko greeted the outdoors once more.

If only peace could last this long.

Chapter 2: Not a chapter

Hey, so...wheres chapter 2 you might be wondering? I know it's been awhile and you'll probably send me curses and stuff at me for it. But anyways !

The reason was because my school year was getting hectic due to it being really important.

I will have chapters done this summer ! Probably. Heh.

I have no school because of the break. So I can do some chapters. However, my schedule will get hectic for the next school year.

 

PLEASE drop some ideas, OCs and more if you want something added ! I will add your names at the bottom of chapters for the ideas.
