Stuck and Running from the Bullets

Summary:

Remember in season 3 of the 100 when everything went to shit after Pike showed up? And remember when Bellamy helped him? Yea I do too. But what if Reader was Trikrew, and him and reader were together?

(Specifically the memorial scene after Asgeda attacked Mount Weather)

Notes:

I'm just a sucker for forbidden romance

Work Text:

You were nowhere near a fan of Pike's, but you had to admit, he did pull together a pretty nice memorial. All the family and friends of the 49 Skikrew that died in the Mount Weather attack were gathered in the messhall to mourn their passing. Cherished possessions of the passed were displayed to celebrate their lives.

"The only thing that is sure is that we die," Pike spoke to the room, "how we die, is up to us"

You glanced over to Bellamy who stood at your side, face hard and arms crossed. You knew he felt guilty for the attack, he felt like he should've been their to protect his people. You understood and loved that he cared so deeply, but at the same time, you hated it

"Who will speak for Gina Martin?"

After a moment of silence, a broken looking woman stood up from her seat and walked to the front of the room. She held a grey shirt in her shaking hands

"Gina was a light in any room she walked into," the woman sniffled, "my girl...you went to soon, you deserved better"

The woman ended her speech by setting the grey shirt next to all the other items of every other daughter, son, mother and father that had passed. You're heart ached remembering the very few times you had spoken to Gina. She seemed like a truly genuine person

You heard the left door of the messhall open and watched as a group of farm station men stormed in, Lincoln among them. He quickly made his way towards you and Bellamy

"Hey," you whispered

He barely nodded to you and Bellamy before silently taking his place next to you. Lincoln's face was blank yet had an undertone of anger painted on it. You looked over to the group of men all huddled around Pike, whispering amongst themselves

"What happened?" You questioned

"I doubt it'll remain quiet for long," Lincoln mumbled

Pike quickly made is way towards Kane and Abby, who sat at the side of the room to view the memorial

"The grounders are here, an army three hundred strong camped less than a mile from here," Pike informed them in a hushed voice

Abby nodded, "We know"

"What?"

"Indra radioed," Kane explained

Pike's voice raised quickly, "You gave a grounder one of our radios?"

Whispers broke out throughout the room, a room filled with people who just lost their loved ones because of grounders

A woman from Farm Station stood from her seat, "Sir are we under attack?"

"No we are not under attack," Kane stood to inform the rest of the room, "the commander sent a peace keeper force to defend us against Ice Nation"

Pike scoffed and dragged his hands over his face, "A peace keeping force? Even you can't be that naive Marcus!"

"Watch your tone," Abby shot back before turning her attention to the rest of the room, "We're all grieving, but we can't let anger drive our policy"

"Anger is our policy!"

Pike had always held prejudice against grounders, didn't matter from what clan. You had talked with him many times due to his need to have as much say in the government of Arkadia as possible, which immediately rubbed you the wrong way. All that to say, you didn't like him and he definitely didn't like you, or your people. But you'd never seen this aggression from him

Before you knew it, Pike was standing in the front of the room, addressing everyone in it, acting like he was the damn Chancellor

"If these grounders are here to protect us, as you say, then tell them to go home! We can defend ourselves!"

Half the room, mainly Pike's men, erupted in firey cheers. Your heart began to pound out of your chest. You knew what horrifying things people will do when they're angry. You looked to your right to find Bellamy already staring at you. Concern painted his already anxious features

"You," a man's gaze shot through the crowd right towards you and Lincoln,"you don't belong here,"

Your stomach felt like it was going to eat itself from the inside. You instinctively shifted backwards before Bellamy grabbed your hand and stepped in front of you

"My boy is dead!" The man yelled as he catapulted a rock that soon made contact with Lincoln's head, forcing him to jerk away.

There was only a millisecond of silence before all hell broke loose. Bellamy firmly held you behind him while the room split into two sides fighting against each other. Guards immediately rushed in front of you and Lincoln to stop to crowd of people forming around you. You swerved around Bellamy, trying to check on Lincoln, but a sudden pressure around your wrist made you stop in your tracks. You looked up to see a crazed man pulling you towards him, the look of pure hatred spiked fear through your whole body. A grunt escaped your lips as you yanked your hand away before pushing the man against the crowd

"Hey!" Bellamy pushed his way in front of you and grabbed the man's collor, bringing him up close, shaking his body limp

"You wanna try something else? Huh!"

You held on to the back of Bellamy's jacket as he went in on the man. You wanted nothing but to hide, hide in his arms and never face anyone ever again. You were suddenly broken out of your trance by throbbing pain in your side. The force of what ever hit you made you buckle over and clutch your side in an attempt to keep your balance. You looked down to see a thick book at your feet

The sound of struggle caught your attention. You looked up to see a woman barely ten feet away from you being dragged away by a guard, "Grounders will suffer!"

A crisp whistle put a stop to the commotion. The room was suddenly filled with silence after everyone froze

"Enough!" Pike yelled from the center of the room, "we do not attack our own"

From the corner of your eye you saw Bellamy shove the man he had held hostage. The man scrambled back to a group of Pike's men, all watching as he continued his self-righteous speech. But his echoing words began to blur once you saw Lincoln stumble outside, blood dripping from his head. You suddenly became overwhelmingly aware of your presence. It didn't seem to matter that it was Pike who wanted the room's attention, because it was on you anyway. Whispers flooded your ears, eyes flicked back and forth between you and the man who seemed hell bent on wiping your people out. Your feet, moving faster than your brain, immediately thudded against the metal flooring. Your stride was quick and decisive as it led you to escape into the empty hallway outside the messhall

You didn't know how much time had passed since you escaped into the safety of your bedroom. As soon as you closed the door, cutting yourself off from the rest of Arkadia, you collapsed onto the floor. You curled your knees up to your chest and buried your head into your arms. You felt hopeless, lifeless. You had tried so hard to assimilate with Skikrew. You spoke their language, wore their clothes, ate their food. And for what? You knew both you and Lincoln would be treated differently than the rest, especially after the Mount Weather attack, but physically targeted? You didn't want to deal with any of it, not right now. But the scrapping sound of your door opening told you you'd been hiding out for long enough

You heard a man, who could only be Bellamy slowly ease his way inside your room before closing the door behind him with a thud

"Hey," a rare gentleness appeared in his voice

You didn't bother lifting your head from your arms. Why would you? So he could see the red smeared under your eyes? The skin peeled on your lips? The tears stained on your face? That wouldn't do any good. So you continued to hide in your arms, curled up into a ball of pity in front of him

His footsteps grew heavier the closer he got. You could feel his presence close to you, before he slid down the wall to join you in your sorrow. He placed a hand on your back, gently moving you forward, then wrapping his guardsmen jacket around your shoulders. The feeling of it was nastolgic in itself. The thick fabric weighing heavy on your shoulders brought you back to the days you would wear it regularly around camp. Not just because you felt it was a loving gesture, but also in an attempt to fit in, a lot of good that did you. He let you lean back against the wall as he slid his arm over and around your shoulders

"I'm probably not gonna have this for long," he squeezed your shoulder before pressing a kiss on the top of your head. The words, "I'm sorry," were mumbled into your hair

That was it, that was all it took for the emotional dam to break. Everything you'd felt ever since you'd first seen Bellamy. The love you had for him, the hurt Skikrew gave you, the loneliness you felt in Arkadia, the anger sparked within you from the memorial, all of it pouring out of you everywhere

Bellamy was there for all of it. As soon as he felt the first shaky breath his arms were around you, holding you as you cried on the floor of what you thought was your home. You barely caught his words over your own cries

"We're gonna fix this"
