Summary:

Gyomei is the Pillar who has the most control over his inner alpha, however, every now and then, something triggers him (usually the smell of Tanjirou's blood) and he goes into alpha state.

He's mostly harmless; he just acts protective around Tanjirou. He needs to be close to the omega all the time; he enjoys carrying him around or placing him on his lap so he can nuzzle against his cheeks and hair.

Work Text:

Gyomei is the Pillar who has the most control over his inner alpha, however, every now and then, something triggers him (usually the smell of Tanjirou's blood) and he goes into alpha state.

He's mostly harmless; he just acts protective around Tanjirou. He needs to be close to the omega all the time; he enjoys carrying him around or placing him on his lap so he can nuzzle against his cheeks and hair.

Tanjirou knows he's safe with him; Gyomei also makes sure he eats and gets some rest when he needs it.

It usually takes a couple of days for him to go back to normal, but Tanjirou doesn't mind, the only thing he has to do is to spend those days in Himejima's residence.

He normally cuddles with him, assures him that he's alright and that he's a great alpha for keeping him safe; Gyomei relaxes completely after hearing those words and lets out and alpha purr so loud it startles the crows sometimes.

But then again, Tanjirou doesn't mind at all; it's like taking a few days off.

The problem is not Tanjirou, as Aoi explains to a few slayers who ask about him.

The problem is that during those days, no alpha can come close to Tanjirou otherwise Gyomei goes really mad.

It'd be fine if the other eight Pillars weren't alphas as well or at least they weren't so attached to Tanjirou.

It'd be fine if they didn't act like twelve-year-olds in love.

So when Gyomei takes Tanjirou to his estate, there's no alpha who can get inside; he's the strongest and none of them can stop his inner alpha from doing what he wants.

Which leads to them whining and complaining in front of Aoi about the unfairness of the situation and how much they miss Tanjirou already.

"It's only a couple of days."

"It's an eternity!"

"Listen, I'd love to listen to your ridiculous pining the whole day, but I have work to do."

Aoi walks out before the eight hashira keep nagging her with their ridiculous longing.
