Atsushi is a tiger

Summary:

litterally a bunch of moments where atsushi shows off his cat like tendancies

Chapter 1: ...purr?

Summary:

Atsushi got comfortable while laying ont the love seat in the office, everyone was shocked to hear the contempt purring he was emitting, except Atsushi, he wasn't shocked, he was utterly humiliated.

Chapter Text

the office was quiet, the only people their were Dazai, Kunikida, and Ranpo (who had just gotten back from his recent murder case.

Well, Atsushi was there to, but he may as well be asleep as he lied on the green loveseat, breathing softly his eyes closed.

"it would be great if you did something productive" Kunikida muttered for the hundredth time, Atsushi was either ignoring him, or to tired to answer.

It was almost surprising the room was so silent considering the occupants, but that silence was soon interrupted by a soft vibrating noise.

about five minutes passed when Kunikida slammed his notebook down on the table, Atsushi started in his half asleep state and the buzzing stopped "where the hell is that noise-" but Kunikida was cut of by Ranpo who held a finger to his lips in a shushing motion.

the buzzing had presumed.

Ranpo leaned over the back of the loveseat where Atsushi lied in a half asleep state, he waved Dazai and Kunikida over, he had solved exactly where the purring was coming from.

the three ADA members watched as Atsushi lied contently, his chest rising and falling as a loud... purr emitted from somewhere in the back of his throat.

"that's... oddly endearing" Kunikida muttered at the soft anxious-less face of Atsushi.

"Kenji would love this..." Dazai mused.

Atsushi's eyes opened, they were lidded in relaxation and the purring continued, that is until he realized his coworkers bent over him, he squeaked, startled, and the purring ceased.

"W-what are you guys doing?" Atsushi wondered anxiously, sitting up.

Dazai grinned.

"You were purring" Kunikida explained.

huh? he was what? "p-purring!?"

Ranpo nodded.

"wha-" Atsushi's face was quickly turning pink.

"yes. it was weirdly adorable!" Dazai grinned broadened.

"We should have taken a video..." Ranpo sighed.

"N-no! purring!? why would i even do that!?"

"well, you are part tiger, so... your technically a cat, maybe the weretiger is rubbing off on you" Ranpo explained.

Atsushi curled into a ball, his ears were as red as his face, so it didn't do much to hide his blush

its funny, i was looking for BSD omo ff's and suddenly thought about Atsushi purring and gasped out loud, then i was forced to write this...

Chapter 2: someone's feeling kneady~

Summary:

Atsushi didnt mean to ruin the couch...

about three days had passed since the whole purring thing...

and the couch was still Atsushi's favourite perch. admittedly, it was difficult to make himself relax again because he didn't want anyone to hear him purring.

Today the occupants of the office were Kenji, Kunikida, Dazai, and Kyouka was on the couch beside Atsushi, she had been around during the purring incident to, but she wasn't in the room, at this point in time, the entire office had heard about how Atsushi purr's and it was embarrassing.

Atsushi was working on a report, typing with his right hand as he kneaded the couch cushion with his left.

he was somewhat distracted, not noticing how his nails scraped against the green fabric.

Kyouka said something quietly from the other side of the loveseat.

"what?" Atsushi blinked. not stopping the comforting movement of his left hand.

Kyouka tipped her head to the side "i said, you ripping the fabric of the couch..." She repeated.

It actually took a moment for Atsushi to register what his 'little sister' was saying.

it was only then did he realise he was scratching at the couch, he glanced down at his hand, to see that he had in fact ripped for small streaks in the couch, each of which had mounds of stuffing squeezing out.

From the multiple times he had run his nails against the cushion ha had worn the fabric, as well as ripped out lots of stuffing.

"Atsushi!" Kunikida shouted, having come over to inspect the damage when Kyouka mentioned it.

"U-uh... IM SORRY!" Atsushi shouted standing up, "i didnt realize i was..."

"hmmm, perhaps its like the other day?" Dazai muttered out loud.

"w-what?" Atsushi muttered, from the place he took on the floor, kneeled in front of the couch, panicky stuffing the... stuffing back in the couch.

"Well you were purring, something that cats do... now your sharpening your 'claws', perhaps the weretiger effects you more than you know..."

Kenji grinned "its cute! your like a little kitty!" he said enthusiastically, petting Atsushi's head.

Atsushi sweat dropped. not liking this at all

Chapter 3: The Box

Summary:

Atsushi lost his favourite spot, as they sent the couch te a seamstress to be fixed (thats what he was told anyway)

So... while it was gone, Atsushi had to make do... also- did he just hiss at me!?

Random fact: did you know Atsushi's name means Affectionate, that's so cute omg 🥹

Chapter Text

When the couch was taken away for repair (or so Atsushi was told) he was sad.

Actually Atsushi found it weird just how upset he was over such a small thing, their were plenty of nice places to sit in the office.

Atsushi whined again when he couldn't get comfortable in the arm chair, the office was mostly empty, Naomi was lazing around at her desk, and Kyouka kneeled on the floor by the window, she was drawing.

Atsushi looked around once again, spotting a table and wondering if that would be more comfortable then the arm chair he was currently curled up in.

It was an odd feeling, like he couldn't shake his anxiety until he found the perfect place to relax.

he approached the table, glancing back at Kyouka and Naomi who weren't paying him much attention, before he prepared to climb atop the desk, that's when he spotted it...

A medium sized box under the desk, it was mostly enclosed by the base of the desk so it was  dark area, but it looked... oddly comforting.

So, without much thought he crawled under the desk, and climbed into the box, he pulled the flaps of the box over himself in and squirming around until he found comfort, and slowly his eyes fell closed.

"Hey Naomi! you said their was an empty box i can use to put these files in right?" Kunikida wondered.

"yes, its under the desk their" Naomi replied, pointing tiredly.

 

 

EARTHQUAKE! was the first thought Atsushi had when the box started shaking, waking him up from his nap.

"Ugh! why is this thing so heavy? i thought it was empty?" Kunikida grunted sliding the box on the floor, out from under the desk.

"it was..." Naomi muttered, standing up and walking over th=o the closed box that lied on the floor.

"mhm" Dazai agreed.

Atsushi felt his face turning red as the box was lifted atop the desk, they were going to find him.

one of the flaps opened, letting in the light from the office, Atsushi squinted, then another.

Finally the last two opened.

"Atsushi!?" 

"hey uh... i was just" sleeping in  box like a toddler.

"We- i um..."

"Why were you hiding in a box?" Naomi asked squinting.

"uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-" Atsushi stuttered, his face becoming increasingly more red.

"we were playing hide and seek..." Kyouka said softly, lying on Atsushis behalf, she let a smile grace her lips "I found you".

Atsushi forced a waly smile, "you sure did! your turn to hide!" he said stuttering as he attempted to climb out, clambering to the ground when he did.

Kunikida shook his head, before off loading the files in his arms, into the box.

Atsushi watched with a furrowed brow as his new spot got filled with papers "uh- just curious... what are you doing with that box?"

Kunikida looked up from taking the files, piled in Dazais arms, "its going into storage, why?"

Atsushi looked away, "no reason"

...

 

Chapter 4: He's... on the roof-?

Summary:

what was he supposed to do!? his box is gone!

Nobody could find Atsushi, of course their first though was he was simply sleeping in, maybe he had a cold, but his room was empty.

Then they assumed he got taken by the PM, so for the last 12 hours the ADA has been searching relentlessly for Atsushi, on every security camera in the city, Ranpo was off on a different Case, he would be back soon, so he couldnt help at the moment, Kenji, Dazai, Tanizaki, and Naomi were out through the city, looking for him.

Kyouka... she wasnt really doing much but panicking in silence, she searched the ADA building, but that is all they would allow her to do, in case this had been a trap to get her back.

three more hours passed, and the ADA was giving up hope.

Kenji, Tanizaki and Naomi had been back for nearly a half an hour, no luck.

the door to the office opened and Dazai came in, looking satisfied, Ranpo followed him in.

"good news!" Dazai called.

Everything fell silent, the clicking of computers stopped, the shuffling of papers, the panicked yelling, the scratches of pencils.

"did we find Atsushi's location!?" Kunikida demanded.

Dazai smiled tipping his head towards Ranpo "follow us..."

"H-he's... ON THE ROOF!?" Kunikida shouted in shock, as he saw the kid they have been searching for, for 15 hours, longing on the edge of the roof, sleeping peacfully.

"Atsushi!?" 

Atsushi startled at the scream of his name, which lead to him jumping off the roof.

...crap

 

Chapter 5: Tigers Allway's land on their feet.

Summary:

They all wanted t jump to save him, but nobody got their fast enough.

Atsushi... landed on his feet.

well... crisis averted?

"AAAAUUUGH!" Atsushi collapsed to the ground, hot pain shooting up his lags.

or not...

"Atsushi!" Tanizaki panicked crouching down by his friend.

"I-im fine" Atsushi said rawly.

"your lag is bent at your shin!" Tanizaki screeched

"hmmm, looks like i may have to..." Yosano whispered, fiddling with the neckline of her shirt.

"n-no! really its fine! see my healing is already taking care of it!" Atsushi panicked.

it was though, his lag was slowly working itself back into place.

Yosano pouted.

"moving on... ATSUSHI WHY THE HELL HAVE YOU BEN HANGING OUT ON THE ROOF FOR 15 HOURS!?" Kunikida demands.

"fifteen... hours?"

"were you actually asleep the whole time?" Naomi asked with wide eyes.

"uh- i guess" Atsushi answered scratching his head.

"WE THOUGHT YOU WERE UBDUCTED BY THE MAFIA! WE HAVE SPENT THE LAST 15 HOURS TRYING TO LOCATE YOU, BUT YOU WERE HERE THE WHOLE TIME!?" Kunikida was less than pleased about finding the were-tiger...

"its dangerous anyway, stay off the roof. i mean look at what happened to your lag" Dazai pointed out, not losing his mischievious smile.

Atsushi sighed, guess hed have to find ANOTHER new spot.
