Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Chapter Text
Crash! Bang!
A black-haired girl slowly looked up from a book that seemingly never ended. She scowled and gently placed the book down on the table before her.
“Who could that be at this hour?” she asked, her voice devoid of emotion but somehow sounding like the slow drops of rain just after a rainstorm.
She stood from her place on the couch, the room seemingly moving as the flames from the fireplace lit the interior. She exited from the front room and approached the front door, her black tailored suit nicely contrasting with her deathly pale skin in the light of torches that were firmly attached to the walls.
She opened the door in a quick, deliberate movement, and all she saw was darkness looking back—until she looked down, that is. She stood there for a moment, shock not allowing her brain to process what exactly she was seeing. It was a girl, seemingly human, and completely nude, exposed to the harsh winter air. Her slightly tanned skin was glowing in the moonlight and the vampire found herself enraptured at the sight. She shook her head before sighing and leaning down to pick the girl up and bring her inside.
She walked down a few halls, the interior was very gothic in nature, the walls were a shade of grey and the floor was dark stained mahogany with a blood-red carpet running down the center of the hall, torches on either side flickered as she walked past them.
‘What the hell was she doing out there? How did she end up on my doorstep, I have been visited by no one in many years.’ She thought to herself, the scowl never leaving her face. ‘What is her business around here? Is she human? She’s pretty warm for the frigid temperatures outside.’ She sighed and decided to leave the questions for later, or perhaps never if things worked in her favor. However, she knew that fate always had a way of tormenting her.
She stopped outside of a single door, the wood a slightly lighter finish than the floor. She opened it, holding the girl in her single arm without issue. She walked to the center of the dark room and set the nude girl down on the dark duvet.
‘I don’t think anything I possess will fit her, maybe just a shirt will do.’ She placed the girl beneath the duvet before quietly exiting the room and returning to her own to retrieve a shirt for the mystery woman. Her room was dark, the black curtains drawn to protect her from the sunlight. It’s not that it would kill her but that didn’t make it any less uncomfortable to be exposed to the bright ball of burning gas. She went to her closet and opened the door, shuffling through her wardrobe for a loose button-up. She settled on a dark grey one and took it with her, bypassing her desk which had an old typewriter resting upon it and a dark-covered box that likely held completed pages of her novel.
She exited the room and made her way back to the girl’s guest room. She uncovered the woman and sat her up, pulling her arms through the sleeves and buttoning it up. She decided she’d leave a note for the girl, sure that she’d be nervous waking up in an unknown person’s home. Once she was done writing the note she placed it on the bedside table and covered the girl once more before exiting the room and heading back into the living room to continue the book she had left behind.
Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Chapter Text
The vampire heard the birds begin chirping as the world began to awaken and she frowned, sometimes she almost wished the world would never wake up again. She placed the book back on the table and walked down the maze of hallways, reaching the guest room door and opening it slightly. She peeked her head inside and was hit with the realization that somehow, she had forgotten to close the curtains. She stepped fully inside, the morning sunlight hitting what little exposed skin she had, she shifted uncomfortably as the light made her skin tingle and itch.
She looked at the bed where only a head of blonde hair was sticking out from under the thick blanket. She sighed quietly, thankful that the woman had seemingly not woken up yet. She approached the windows and closed all the curtains, rubbing her hands as the tingling finally stopped. As she stood in the middle of the now dark room she heard the first signs of her guest waking, looks like her luck had run out. She closed her eyes with a silent sigh and approached the bed, standing next to it. She knew she’d probably scare the girl, but she'd likely end up scaring her at some point anyway with how quietly she walked around.
The girl sat up in bed and stretched her arms out, her eyes still closed. The vampire waited patiently as she stood. ‘Guess I didn’t need to write that note after all.’ She thought to herself and rolled her eyes. The blonde girl finally opened her eyes, and the dark-haired woman found herself transfixed on them. They were a beautiful shade of blue, they almost seemed to glow in the darkness of the room, or… perhaps they were glowing. The girl turned her head and looked the vampire in the eyes, a look of surprise covering her features. The blonde looked down to see the shirt that had been carefully put on her last night and her jaw dropped.
“Oh, well. Uhm, thanks for covering me," The blonde paused, her face flushed. "Also, uh, sorry for being naked.” She spoke and her soft voice sounded like music to the vampire's ears, though she would never admit that.
The vampire waved dismissively, “Mhm.” Was all she responded with, her voice its usual monotone.
The blonde looked up at her and stuck out her hand. ‘An introduction? Hm. I thought people had no manners anymore.’ The vampire took her hand in a firm shake and was surprised to see that the girl’s grip was almost just as firm and that her hand was very warm, definitely too warm to be human.
“My name’s Enid Sinclair, good to meet you. I’m not sure how I ended up here, but I appreciate the hospitality.”
The dark-haired girl was then taken aback by the bright smile she received, Enid’s canines long and sharp in her smile full of white teeth. She took her hand back from the girl’s grip and put them together in front of her.
“I am Wednesday Addams; I found you on my doorstep last night after you made quite the ruckus.” Wednesday glared slightly at the blonde and Enid looked away sheepishly, surprisingly unaffected by the vampire’s glare.
“I’m really sorry about that.” She said, biting her lip in what seemed to be thought.
Wednesday sighed and shrugged her shoulders, “Think nothing of it, nothing was broken so I believe it to be fine.” She leaned closer to the blonde and Enid looked at her in surprise, leaning back slightly.
“I do have a question for you, Enid.” The vampire paused and tilted her head. “What are you?” Wednesday asked, her glowing red eyes staring coldly into the glowing icy blue. Enid looked up at her in shock as she processed what she was just asked.
“Human, of course.” She responded, her voice slightly shaky.
“Do not lie to me, Enid. It is unbecoming of a woman. What are you?” A pause, “You’re too warm, your eyes glow, your canines are far too long to belong to a human.”
Enid took a closer look at Wednesday, her outdated outfit that consisted of an all-black three-piece suit that was perfectly tailored to her form, her glowing red eyes, her deathly pale skin, her high strength for her height and build, and how honestly hot she looked. Enid swallowed and blinked, pushing that last observation from her mind. She looked back into Wednesday’s eyes and leaned into her space, the vampire's eyes widened but a fraction before the look was gone, though she didn’t retreat.
“Well, uh, I’m a werewolf of the blood moon, I’ve just been kicked from my family pack, specifically the Sinclair pack." There was a momentary pause as Enid seemed to cringe slightly. "You’re not gonna attack me, right? Supposed sworn enemies and all. Considering you're a vampire.”
The vampire rolled her eyes at the last bit, “Everyone is my sworn enemy. But yes, your astute observation is correct I am indeed a vampire.” Wednesday’s eyes bore into Enid’s before she finally stood back up, she continued looking down at the werewolf before her. “Doesn’t that hurt? Being kicked from your pack, I mean, werewolves are pack creatures. Which I could never understand.” The vampire crossed her arms in front of her chest and Enid looked down at the blanket, beginning to fidget with the sleeve of her borrowed shirt. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, surprised to find that the scent of the vampire helped lessen the burden of the pain she felt. Although they could be awful, she still missed them.
“It does. But there is nothing I can do about that now. They were displeased with how long I took to wolf out. When I did, I thought they'd finally be proud of me but instead, they were displeased when my wolf form was more powerful than all of theirs, especially since I was a late bloomer. They were displeased that I liked women and that I was not at all interested in my mother choosing my mate. In their eyes, I am nothing but a disappointment to the pack, and so they cast me out.” The blonde looked back up to the vampire, her eyes misted over but she refused to let the tears fall, she couldn’t be a weak, kicked puppy anymore. She refused to let anyone else down.
Enid was surprised by the look on Wednesday’s face, how her jaw had a slight tick with how hard she was clenching it in her attempt of reeling in her anger. The vampire sighed and knew she would likely regret her next words, but she refused to allow someone like this to be tainted by the sickened world, she had been around long enough to grow some compassion.
Wednesday pinched the bridge of her nose, looking away from the wolf as her irritation tried to boil back over at the short thought. Then, she began to speak, her voice filled with restrained anger, “This is why we don’t get along with werewolves, they’re far too customary, unable to see past their so-called, “tradition”. Times have changed, as have people, centuries have gone by and although the werewolves die and change, their rules don’t, and I find that absurd. If anyone should not change it should be us, we have watched the world go by for many many years and yet, we are able to adjust. They have no right to treat you in such a way when such traditions are futile. You do not choose who you love, and it is truly about time werewolves come to face such a thing. We, vampires, are accustomed to and enjoy our solitude, so I don't fully understand the prospect of needing to be surrounded by others, but werewolves are pack animals, and it sickens me how they can outcast one of their own.” She paused, taking a breath that she didn't need, placing her hands calmly at her sides. Then, her eyes pierced into Enid’s, the wolf awestruck and fully attentive.
The vampire began again, “You may stay here as long as you need. However, we must set ground rules; Do not enter my room without knocking, do not interrupt my writing time which is between 3 to 4 AM, do not open any curtains in the daytime other than your own, it doesn’t kill me but it makes me wish that it would, and finally ensure that when you ‘wolf out’ you do it outside behind the mansion. I do not want anyone to see you and cause issues, and I do not want the front of my home to be trashed if you cannot control it.” She paused, scowling, “Oh, and one more thing,” She leaned back into Enid’s space, her eyes cold and malicious. “Do not touch me without permission, you seem like an excitable girl, but I despise physical contact, if you touch me, I cannot guarantee your safety.”
Enid was slightly shocked as she nodded dumbly. Wednesday backed away from her and nodded. “We must find you new clothes. I will find something suitable for you to wear and deliver it to you. Once I do, perhaps we can visit a few stores, or you are free to go on your own.”
The vampire exited the room and Enid stared at the door she had just disappeared through. ‘A werewolf living with a seemingly ancient, slightly emotionally constipated but equally temperamental vampire? This will probably be interesting.’ She thought to herself as she removed the borrowed shirt and waited for the vampire's re-arrival.

Chapter Text
They walked along the sidewalk, Enid bouncing excitedly at the prospect of shopping. The oversized black sweater and long baggy sweatpants Wednesday allowed her to borrow blowing around in the cold winter breeze. Though, if she was honest the light-absorbing fabric was a bit too warm for her, but she wouldn’t tell Wednesday that. The vampire walked calmly next to her, her suit shrouded in the darkness of her cloak, her eyes glowing beneath her shaded hood. The vampire was pleased that the wolf was so excited, though she didn’t ponder on it, not particularly wanting to know the reason why. There's no way she's lonely enough to find adequate companionship in any capacity with this overly hyper golden retriever.
People moved from their path like the sea being forced apart by some unknown psychic power, this only made Wednesday smirk as she looked at the humans with malice. The wolf only smiled at her new friend’s antics as they made their way along the shops. The wolf attempted to show off some of her colored wardrobe, but the vampire would only give her a pained expression and look away. One particular outfit she chose to put back as she only received an “I feel like you just napalmed me, Enid.” In response. She put together a few darker outfits that the vampire seemed pleased with as well.
She found herself a bit distraught when the vampire refused to let her pay for all of the things she had picked out. Although she didn’t have much money, she didn’t want the dark-haired woman to feel obligated to pay for everything.
“Okay, since you refused to let me pay for anything, at least let me take you to lunch. I know you don’t really eat human food, but I’m sure there’s something you would like around here somewhere.” Enid suggested, well, more of demanded really.
Wednesday sighed and nodded, and Enid took hold of her dark sleeve and dragged her along the crowded sidewalk to a cafe at the corner. They went inside and Enid picked out a shaded booth at the back, obviously for the comfort of the vampire as the wolf seemed to bask in the sun's blinding light.
They sat down and were brought menus, though the vampire only wanted a quad over ice. Enid sighed and shook her head but smiled nonetheless as she chose to get a large sandwich. The waiter returned to the back to turn in the orders and Enid looked at Wednesday with her brilliant smile.
“Thank you for today, Wednesday. This is the most fun I’ve had in a while.” The vampire only responded with a nod of her head before she reached under her cloak and pulled out an old-looking hardcover book with yellowed pages, she looked at Enid once more before she began to read. Enid pulled out her phone and started scrolling through her social media, liking a few of her friend’s pictures. Yoko and Divina had posted a few images of their recent vacation to visit Yoko’s family, and she caught herself wondering if Wednesday had any remaining family members.
Thankfully, their food arrived at their table before she could voice her question. They both thanked the server, and Enid began to eat while Wednesday sipped at her coffee. They looked at each other and Enid smiled, “So, you can consume coffee, is there anything else you can stomach?”
Wednesday stared as she thought, “Yes, I like rare steaks and other rare meats. Though I really just prefer my blood, I usually have it shipped in and keep it at proper temperatures in my fridge.” Enid tilted her head as she swallowed.
“So you don’t kill people?” She asked and took another bite, already half finished.
“Not anymore, things have become much more convenient for my species, then again, I never did like killing my victims either. When I was a younger vampire, I couldn’t quite control myself and would sometimes kill them anyways, but as I got older, I learned to control my thirst, I’m not completely evil you know.” Wednesday raised an eyebrow as she took another sip of her bitter coffee.
“I know that!” Enid squeaked out staring across the table, the vampire only smirked. Enid sighed before speaking up again. “Were you always a vampire?” The vampire in question looked taken aback by the question and Enid rushed to save it, “You don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to, I just have a vampire friend! Her name is Yoko, and she was a born vampire, so I was just wondering!”
Wednesday smirked slightly once more at getting the wolf to squirm before she responded, “No, I wasn’t always a vampire, I was a human psychic before I was turned. My mother was a psychic as well, we were like night and day. She was a dove, which means her visions tended to be more positive, but I am a Raven, so my visions tend to be darker.”
Wednesday took another sip of her drink, allowing Enid a moment to absorb the information.
“I still have them but not as often as I have basically isolated myself from the world. My father was human, although he came from a long line of witches and warlocks, and he seemed to have some sort of pyrokinesis which my brother, Pugsley, then inherited.”
Enid nodded as she processed the information, taking the final bite of her sandwich. She then looked up at the vampire, who was still staring at her. She tilted her head slightly and smiled.
“I hate to ask, but are any of them still around? You don’t have to answer of course.”
The vampire shook her head, “They are all deceased, except for a sentient hand named Thing and our butler, Lurch. But I have not seen either of them in quite some time. They are likely with my extended family. Though, before you get all sad and hold a pity party for me,” She smirked at the now slightly blushing werewolf. “I am still able to talk to them through a crystal ball my mother gifted me when I was alive.”
The blonde nodded, “I see, thanks for sharing with me.” Wednesday nodded before bringing up a question of her own. “Is there something special about blood moon werewolves? I have done reading on werewolves, although not extensively and I haven't seen much on such a creature.”
Enid chuckled, “Well, they tend to outperform other werewolves physically, uhm, they tend to be bigger though I’m unsure if my wolf form has stopped growing yet, they can usually shift at will, which is unlike most other werewolves who only shift during a full moon. Things like that.”
Wednesday nodded, finding herself intrigued. “You should take pride in that, I’m sure your wolf form is powerful. You should show it to me some time, I would like to study your anatomy.” Enid stared at the vampire for a moment, her eyes glowing in the light of the afternoon sun, she ducked her head. “Maybe I will.” She finally said and Wednesday smirked at the blush that continued coloring the wolf’s face.
Wednesday then stood and took their trash to the front, throwing it all away before signaling to Enid that she’d like to leave, surprised when Enid understood on the first attempt, even her family took some time to understand her cues.
They left together and returned to the imposing mansion, 3 floors altogether, old grey brick standing out against the afternoon sun. ‘I can’t believe she lives here basically alone.’ She thought to herself before entering the dark interior.
“This place belonged to my family before they died, knowing that I had become immortal they gifted it to me after their inevitable passing.” Enid looked at her for the millionth time that day, her gaze questioning.
“Why is it that you didn’t turn them?” She asked, turning to fully face the vampire.
“Well, for one I was unsure if I could control myself enough to not kill them, though I doubt any harm would have come to them due to a curse that was placed on our blood long ago, but I was young and scared of my own power. And I was unsure if they would be able to survive the change. If one of my parents lost the other, I am not sure they would’ve survived at all, they were bound by the second Addams family curse, which I will not go into detail about now, the curse has left me be for centuries and hopefully, it always will.”
“So, there are two curses on your family?”
“Yes, an Addams does not have an easy time killing an Addams, trust me I had tried to kill my brother on many occasions, and he returned the attempts with no luck. The second is a curse of essentially eternal devotion, though that’s all I will give you for now.”
Enid nodded her head, very intrigued by her new friend and housemate. They walked into the living room together and Enid sat her bags down next to the couch across from the vampire. She fidgeted, never one for keeping still and Wednesday looked at her from across the mid-sized coffee table.
“You have far too much energy, you’re like a golden retriever.” Enid just laughed, “Would that make you the black cat then?” Wednesday grumbled in response. They chatted as the sun went down. Enid yawned as the night grew stronger.
“Tired there wolf?” The vampire asked, her tone flat but her expression showing slight amusement.
Enid frowned, “I suppose I am, are you not?”
Wednesday shook her head, “No, we don’t really sleep, especially not at night.”
Enid sighed, “I wish that’s how it was for us. Guess I should be turning in then. Goodnight, Wednesday, thank you again for today.” The vampire nodded and responded with her own goodnight and Enid grabbed her bags and left the room. She walked down the halls, watching the flames from the torches dance as she went. She enjoyed watching how the flame would flicker as she walked by, it felt oddly peaceful, even though it was an open flame. Finally, she came to her room. She stripped down and crawled into bed, sleep quickly overtaking her.

Chapter Text
She awoke the next morning to the light pouring in through the windows. She stretched, a smile finding its place on her face. She got up from the bed and padded her way to the window, staring into the light outside watching as the world awoke before her eyes.
“Ah, I'm sure today will be a lovely day.” She spoke quietly to herself, walking to the bags she disregarded yesterday, and picking out one of her darker outfits. She then went around the room and closed the curtains out of courtesy for her undead housemate.
Once she was finished, she made her way out the door of her room, shutting it behind her. She made her way down the halls and into the kitchen. Wednesday had seemingly gotten some food for her while she was asleep which surprised her quite a bit, not thinking the vampire cared too much about her either way. But she was thankful, nonetheless.
She decided on a simple breakfast. She made eggs, toast, and probably too much bacon. Then she headed for the dining room, surprised to find Wednesday already in the room, drinking a cup of what Enid could only assume to be blood out of a black mug and reading a seemingly old book.
“Hey Willa, did you have a good night?” The wolf asked, shoving bacon into her mouth.
The vampire didn't respond for a moment, finishing the sentence in her book. Then she looked up at her guest, closing the book and placing it at her side. “It has been a tolerable day so far. Do you have any daytime plans?”
Enid swallowed and smiled, “Just planned to go on a run but other than that I don’t really have any plans.”
Wednesday nodded as she stared from across the table, though she wasn't staring at Enid, she seemed lost in thought. Maybe even a bit conflicted about said thoughts.
“Would you like to assist me in dusting the library?” The vampire finally asked, and Enid tilted her head with a smile.
“Yeah, that sounds fun. After my run, we could meet in the living room, and you could show the way?” Enid asked, finishing off her breakfast.
Wednesday nodded and stood from her seat, taking both Enid's and her dishes back to the kitchen. Enid quickly scrambled after the vampire. “Willa, what are you doing?”
Wednesday placed the dishes into the sink rolling up her sleeves. She turned her head to regard Enid, her eyebrow up in question. “Where did this “Willa” come from? Also, I am washing the dishes, obviously. One cannot allow them to pile up.”
The wolf shook her head aggressively, “It's just my nickname for you, but if you don't like it then I'll stop. Also no, you shouldn't be doing my dishes, I'll do the dishes, I'm sure you have reading to do.” She attempted to scoot into the vampire's space and prevent her from cleaning her plate.
“But Enid you have your run and I have plenty of time to kill while you are away.” Wednesday did not give up her place at the sink even as Enid wedged herself between the sink and the vampire.
“No, no. I have to wait for the food to settle before I can do anything. Also is your non-acknowledgement of the nickname permission??” Enid tilted her head as she stared into red eyes.
Wednesday scowled and nodded her head once before quickly and easily getting ahold of the wolf and attempting to move her, the wolf fighting back and accidentally beginning a battle of supernatural strength.
“Enid, allow me to do the dishes. No guest in my home shall lift a finger for these sorts of things.” Wednesday said as she continued pushing against the essentially stone wolf, their hands pressed against each other's biceps.
“No, Willa. And besides I'm not a guest! You invited me into your home, it's the least I can do.” Enid presses closer to Wednesday managing to get her slightly off balance as she moves her back away from the sink.
Wednesday’s eyes glowed red as she smirked, pouncing into Enid and knocking her flat on her back. They rolled around on the perfectly clean kitchen floor, Enid laughing as they wrestled. Then glowing blood red met glowing electric blue as Enid found herself captured under the more martially skilled brunette.
“Accept defeat Enid, then I can do the dishes and you can go on your run.” Enid laughed, Wednesday's ears twitched at the wonderful sound. Enid took a moment to catch her breath before she looked up at Wednesday and smirked.
“Can't do that Wends.” Then in a swift unexpected motion, Wednesday found herself flat on her back beneath the beaming wolf.
She sighed quietly, “Alright Enid, you win this one. But you have to let me dry.” The wolf above her giggled and released her from her grip, “Deal!” The wolf stood and skipped over to the sink already starting before Wednesday had even stood up.
Wednesday caught herself with a small smile and squashed it before she could be caught with it moving to join Enid in the chore.
*
Enid’s feet pounded against the earth as she flew through the trees, the wind blowing in her face merely seen as a sign of her freedom. She looked at her phone, which she was using to listen to music, blasting some BLACKPINK. She had been running for a good 45 minutes now, just enjoying the sights of the nature that now surrounded her. She was no longer trapped in a city with her torturous, oppressive family and for that, she felt incredibly grateful. And the vampire she was living with was not at all as bad as her family made them out to be.
She stopped running upon seeing a little cliff she could climb. She unsheathed her claws, digging them securely into the rock and making her way up carefully.
Upon reaching the top she sat down, allowing her legs to dangle over the ledge, she was now a bit over the trees she had just been running through, she watched as the wind blew the colored leaves around, and she watched as the birds flew freely through the air. She finally knew what it felt like to be those birds and the thought made a smile fall over her face.
She leaned back and used her arms to hold up her form.
“Yeah…I'm finally free. And it's thanks to Wednesday that I've even got a place at all.” She laughs to herself, “Maybe this won't be too bad after all.”
She stayed a while longer before she simply jumped down from the small cliff she'd climbed up, landing with a slight thud on the dirt below. She began her trek back to the mansion, wondering what Wednesday was up to while she couldn't go outside.
*
Wednesday had seen Enid off and had watched until her form disappeared into the forest from the safety of the slightly cracked front door. Then she closed the door and wandered into the living room wanting to get some reading done.
She picked up the old tome that rested on her dark coffee table and sat with perfect posture on the couch.
This book in particular was about werewolves. She wanted to understand her new housemate more, but she already knew all of the knowledge held in the book so far. As far as she has read there was no information on blood moon werewolves, just the usual werewolf variant information. They must be about as rare as she had originally thought.
She already knew they were fast, agile, and extremely strong creatures that retained some of this power in their human forms. This morning's wrestling match with Enid had proven this. She knew that werewolves were simply magnificent creatures that didn't typically hold much control over their wolf side, sometimes even hurting their loved ones unintentionally.
She took pause, then reread the sentence. She had made a discovery, how did she not realize this before? Enid had quite literally said it to her face, and she supposedly had not stored the information as she usually would. 'The wolf is simply far too distracting.' she thought to herself with a shake of her head. But, if Enid could control when and where she wolfed out for the most part, then obviously she had to have more control over her wolf form than the typical werewolf does.
She decided to finally put this information in a mental note as she continued to read, waiting for the wolf to return home.
*
About an hour and fifteen minutes later Enid came through the door. She was panting a bit, but she looked incredibly happy. Wednesday placed the book on the table in front of her and stood walking over to the wolf whose back was now facing her as she shut the door.
“Did you have a pleasant run, Enid?” Wednesday asked, her monotone voice filling the living room.
“Yes, it was quite freeing. And I realized a few things.” Enid turned to face Wednesday and under Enid's intense gaze, the vampire tensed a bit.
“Yes?” The vampire asked, her face neutral despite her nerves. Enid continued to beam at her. “Thank you, Wednesday.” The vampire tilted her head. “What are you thanking me for?” The werewolf rocked on the balls of her feet, “For allowing me to stay here, for talking with me even though it's easy to tell you prefer to keep to yourself, for telling me about yourself, just… thank you for everything.”
The vampire stood in silence for a moment before nodding her head, not really sure what to say at this moment. Though Enid seemed pleased with the response as she walked around Wednesday and further into the living room. The vampire turned and trailed the wolf shortly after.
“Enid, would you like to go to the library now?” Wednesday asked, her hands clasped in front of her. Enid nodded her head, “Yes, but give me just a few minutes to shower and change. I'm gross.”
Wednesday nodded her head and took her seat on the couch once more, watching as Enid exited the room, escaping to her own for a shower.
Wednesday simply sat there, allowing the minutes to tick by, she had an infinite amount of them after all. She closed her eyes and leaned back against the back of the couch, something she did not allow herself to do often. She stretched her senses, her nose picking up on the hint of lavender and honeysuckle coming from her housemate who was likely beginning her shower now. She could hear as the wolf began to sing, it wasn't a song she recognized but it brought her a feeling of relaxation and safety and before she had realized it, she fell asleep.
*
“And I'm thinking of you, while I'm up here higher than God.
Feeling strange ‘bout the way we left things in the back of the car.”
Enid continued humming the song to herself as she washed the sweat from her body, feeling her muscles release the tension under the steaming water.
“Drink Champagne out of plastic, don't you want someone crazy like me, babe?”
She washed her hair, as she continued to hum, closing her eyes to enjoy the warm stream of water.
Once she was finished, she turned off the faucet and leaned her head against the wall. She smiled, stretching out her senses, she could smell the vampire in the living room still, she smelled of old books, ink, and a little bit of blood. The metallic smell usually making her sick to her stomach but when attached to the dark vampire it brought her a strange sense of calm.
Enid sighed contentedly as she finally exited the shower. Properly drying herself off and happily putting on her comfy clothes from breakfast this morning instead of her running outfit. The comfy clothes consisted of a black hoodie and dark grey sweatpants.
She exited the bathroom and quietly made her way into the hall, pausing to close the door behind her before continuing her journey to the living room. Upon rounding the corner she found Wednesday, head back against the back of the couch, completely relaxed.
Enid was transfixed by the sight of the vampire so relaxed. She sat in her spot across from Wednesday and she relaxed into the couch as well, then very shortly after sitting down, she followed in Wednesday's footsteps as she also descended into sleep.
*
A few hours later Enid opens her eyes to find Wednesday awake, sitting as proper as always, staring at her.
The wolf smiled, putting her sharp canines on display. “Sleep well, Willa?” The vampire only nodded her head, “Did you, Enid?” Enid nodded her head and stood from the couch, stretching, her muscles a bit sore from her sleeping position.
“Library?” She asked and Wednesday was on her feet in seconds. Wednesday took Enid by the sleeve and led her down the labyrinth of hallways and stairways before they entered a large room filled with bookshelves. Enid's jaw dropped as she looked around.
“Holy shit Wednesday! This is quite the collection.” The vampire smirked proudly, “Yes it is, this collection comes from multiple generations though, not just myself, though a lot of it has now been contributed by me.”
“That's amazing, could I read some of these sometime?” Enid asked, nearly bouncing in her excitement.
“I didn't take you for a reader, but yes, of course. Whenever you'd like a book just let me know, I will lead you here until you know the path yourself.” Wednesday almost smiled, the sides of her mouth twitching upwards slightly.
“Of course, and I can see why you'd think that, but I do really enjoy reading as long as I can get into the book!” Enid clapped her hands together, “Alright, let's get started.”
They spent the remainder of the day clearing dust from the shelves and reorganizing the books to Wednesday's preferences. As it began getting later though Wednesday noticed that the wolf became more sluggish, she shook her head fondly before approaching her.
“Enid. You are tired.” Enid shook her head immediately, “I am so not tired. I could do this with you forever.”
Wednesday raised a skeptical eyebrow, quickly throwing out a punch that she knew wouldn't reach her, Enid's reaction time having been reduced by the fatigue as she dodged to the side not managing to grab the offending arm of the vampire. Enid whined lowly as Wednesday continued, “Enid you're getting sluggish, your reflexes are slowing down, as you can obviously see.” Wednesday pulled her arm back and checked her watch, the analog clock reading 3:24 AM. The vampire looked back up at Enid, “That and I am late to my writing time. Come, I'll walk you back. We got most of it finished, I can take care of the rest.”
Enid sighed quietly before accepting her defeat. “Alright, let's go.” Wednesday took Enid’s sleeve once more and led them back through the hallways, stopping outside of Enid's door, and opening it for her. Enid smiled as she stepped over the threshold.
“Thank you, I hope you enjoy your writing time. Goodnight, Wednesday.”
“May you rest like the dead Enid, terrible dreams,” Wednesday replied, allowing a small lip twitch before she turned on her heel and made her way to her room.
Enid closed her door, quickly stripped to her undergarments, clothes too restrictive and warm while she slept, and simply crawled up into bed, quickly drifting off to sleep.

Chapter Text
Enid was awakened by a sharp, heavy knock at what she assumed was the front door. For some reason, she had a bad feeling about this one. She swiftly put her clothes on, forgoing shoes, and ran out of her room, her bare feet slapping the floor as she made her way quickly down the corridors. She caught up to Wednesday just as she was about to open the door, she grabbed the vampire's arm and pulled her away from it with all the strength she could muster in her tired state, knowing Wednesday would fight her.
The vampire glared up at her, a look that would curdle anyone else's blood. “Remove your hand from me at once, Enid.” The wolf shook her head. “No, you can’t answer the door Willa, I have a bad feeling about it.” Wednesday scowled, “It’s likely just the delivery for the blood I ordered yesterday, please remove your hand.”
Enid shook her head more firmly, her grip tightening as her face contorted in concern. She resorted to looking at her with the best puppy eyes she could muster, “Let me answer it, please.” Wednesday sighed, teeth clenched, and fangs exposed, “Fine. Remove yourself from me.” Enid nodded and removed her hand quickly as if she had been burned. She reached for the door handle and opened it enough so Wednesday wasn't visible. As soon as the door was opened, water was thrown in her face.
“Hey, what the fuck?” She looked at the person at the front door with irritation, the smell of blood on this mystery being hitting her nose hard. She had to force herself not to gag. The smell easily put her further on edge, and her body tensed. “Why the hell did you throw water on me?” The person seemed shocked; they had short brown hair, green eyes, and they were dressed in jeans and a light grey hoodie, though they had some sort of leather bag attached to their hip.
“Oh, shit. I’m so sorry I- uhm. I’m sorry. I thought- Never mind, I’ll just go.” They nervously tripped over their words.
Enid grabbed the person by the arm, her eyes glowing dangerously. “I’m sorry, but you’re not going anywhere.” The wolf bared her fangs. Wednesday, unfortunately, chose this moment to touch Enid’s arm, which was drenched in the mystery water. “Willa don’t-.” It was too late. Wednesday's hand recoiled almost as quickly as it had been placed; she hissed in pain, holding her burning left hand. “Holy water,” Wednesday said quietly, lethally. Enid’s human ears twitched as she became tense. While Enid was distracted, the mystery person slipped from her hold and pushed past her.
“I knew there was a vampire in here. Say your prayers, I’m about to turn you to dust.” They growled out.
Enid reacted immediately, grabbing the person by the hood and throwing them out the front door as if they weighed almost nothing. She followed them out in her rage, her eyes glowing a vibrant blue, her teeth gritted, her canines extended. She lowered into a defensive stance, her colorful claws on full display.
“Don’t you ever touch her.” The stranger smirked, standing up from their prone position. “And what will happen to me if I do? She is an abomination, and apparently so are you!” The stranger rushed her again, their fists flew, neither landing a hit on the other despite Enid's increased agility, then as the fight seemed to be nothing but a standstill, the stranger landed a hit to Enid's gut, effectively knocking the wind out of her.
She reacted out of pure instinct, her leg snapping out and launching the person across the lawn once more as she collapsed to her knees, panting.
“You are… insufferable.” She growled out, hand clutching her stomach as she fought to regain her breath.
After a moment, she stood, her eyes a vivid, enraged sapphire. Her claws and fangs now fully extended against her will; she was losing control to her rage. The stranger was still struggling to get to their hands and knees from the force of her kick. They coughed, and blood came spilling out from their mouth, landing on the grass beneath them. Enid decided at that moment that she was out for blood.
Her skin burned as if set on fire, her bones shifting uncomfortably underneath her skin. She quickly undressed, realizing that she couldn’t hold back her transformation any longer. Not that she wanted to. She really didn’t want to ruin the clothes Wednesday got for her, though. She felt as the beast quickly crawled up under her skin, her teeth gritting as the burning intensified. “What the hell are you doing?!” The vampire hunter asked from the ground, their expression revealing their disgust and unease. She looked at them, her eyes blazing, but she didn't respond, simply allowing the shift to overtake her.
Her bones cracked and shifted, she couldn’t even feel the pain, blinded by her righteous anger. Before she knew it, she was towering above them- a giant golden furred beast, her form stood strong and powerful, and Enid's blue eyes locked onto their prey.
Noticing this, the person scrambled to their feet, pulling a metal stake from their bag.
‘Silver.’ Enid thought to herself, no fear coming from the imposing beast as she growled, revealing a mouth full of long, sharp teeth. ‘At least if I die, I know I was protecting her, that will always be reason enough.’ Then she attacked, the person swung wildly, the sharp tip tearing deep into the flesh of her cheek, then slicing a nice gash into her chest, an intense burning sensation left behind as blood poured from her wounds. ‘Okay, that hurts and is a bit terrifying, but I’m not gonna make killing me that easy.’
She pounced, swiping her claws at the intruder, digging them easily into flesh as she sent the person flying a third time. They landed with a deep grunt as more blood flew, though Enid couldn't tell if it was hers or their attackers. They took a moment to catch their breath as she very slowly took a step forward, and they then threw their arm out. What happened next shocked her, as all she saw was a flash of silver and then black. ‘Wednesday!’
The vampire dropped to a knee as she removed the silver stake from her chest, angered that now she would have to purchase a new shirt. The hole quickly closed, and she and the towering beast stood together as she threw the stake into the abyss, Enid nuzzled her with her giant muzzle in thanks, smearing her blood on the vampire’s face, to which Wednesday irritatedly clicked her tongue, though Enid took it as a bonus when she didn't push her away. Enid then bared her teeth once more at their attacker.
“Can you take on both of us?” Wednesday’s voice surrounded her wolfish ears, she closed her eyes for but a moment to enjoy the sound, and then, she felt some instinctual realization click into place. She realized, in that moment, she would die for Wednesday.
She had never felt this kind of protectiveness—not for her family, not for her friends. Only for her. And although this feeling terrified her, she widened her stance and snapped her jaws at the intruder, her eyes now glowing enough to light the path in front of her, the blue so bright it almost looked white.
Wednesday looked at her with slight surprise. 'The blood stopped flowing from her wounds. I thought silver slowed the healing process down.’ She was confused. But decided she wouldn’t think on the matter too much now; she had to be able to protect her wolf. Wait. Her wolf? That is an insane notion.
The intruder stood, obviously terrified, as they pulled out a cross and another silver stake. The sight of the cross made her want to recoil, but she was too stubborn to move; she wouldn’t let this thing hurt Enid again. She attacked, quicker than the attacker expected, the perks of being a centuries-old vampire. The intruder moved the cross in front of her as she closed the distance. She grabbed the attacker regardless, the cross pressed against the hole in her shirt. Her skin sizzled and burned, but this only made her tighten her hold. She grabbed the person by the throat, making them drop their tools as they struggled against her grip before she brutally ripped their throat out. Their blood spewed across the lawn and landed on the vampire, mixing with the blood the werewolf had gotten on her earlier. Their body sagged into the blood-soaked grass as she released them, shaking the tainted blood off her hand in disgust and wiping her face.
“Fucking vampire hunters, always making me get my hands covered in their filth.” She looked down at the tools, shoving the silver stake back into the deceased vampire hunter’s bag, completely ignoring the crucifix. She didn't want Enid to accidentally come into contact with the item. She knew it would only kill her if it was embedded in the wolf's chest, but one could never be too careful. She then looked back to the wolf behind her, piercing icy blue met sharp fiery red, a bolt of electricity shot through them both. They wanted to look away but found themselves transfixed. Enid tilted her head and lowered her body to the ground with a short whimper. Wednesday tilted her head slightly.
“I do not find you to be a threat, Enid. Submission is not required.” Enid stood but kept her head lowered, her ears pulled slightly back as she smiled with her wolfish canines, almost looking sheepish.
Wednesday suddenly felt her world begin to tilt as she dropped to her knees, coughing and sputtering as if she needed oxygen. Enid was by her side in an instant, gently nuzzling her, whimpering softly. Wednesday covered her mouth, her own black blood now staining her skin. She pulled her hand away and looked at it in shock, within the palm of her hand sat a single black rose petal. Her hand shook as she gripped it tightly in her fist. She quickly began to spiral.
“This isn’t possible. There’s no way.” Wednesday whispered to no one but herself, her tone anguished, tight.
Her chance meeting with this overly energetic werewolf is what led to this? Fate had to have been playing a trick on her. There was no way this could be happening to her, after centuries. She looked up at the giant wolf, her teeth bared. Enid seemed to be shocked by the expression and backed away a step, not wanting to crowd her.
“You… You did this?! You… How?”
Enid had never seen Wednesday so lost for words, she was always so eloquent, so precise with what she wanted to say. Bold and straightforward, to see her at such a loss had Enid worried. She whimpered lowly and lowered her body to the ground once more, resting her head near the vampire’s thigh as the brunette continued to spiral.
“After centuries, after so many years, how could this happen? How could this happen to me?”
Enid whimpered and nudged her leg with her nose gently, the vampire recoiled almost as if she had been burned, then she stood, looking down on her beastly counterpart. Enid flinched at the look on her face.
“This…has to be impossible. This can’t be.”
Enid was scared now. What was she talking about? What did she realize? The vampire looked from her hand to Enid, then back again. Wednesday wanted to pace but found that if she moved again she’d likely collapse, the shock of the situation making her knees weak and her stomach churn.
“How can fate do this to me? To you? Why would someone like you ever accept this? We are nothing alike.”
Enid looked at her in shock as she raised her head; she began to tremble, but she wasn’t sure why. Regardless, her chest ached, an intense feeling, it was almost suffocating.
‘Why does this hurt?’ They both asked themselves as they stared at one another but no answer came. Wednesday tried to control herself, taking a few deep breaths she steeled her courage and dropped back to her knees, shuffling forward towards the wolf slowly.
She reached a tentative hand out, not thinking about the blood that now stained both of them or how lightly colored the wolf’s fur was. She placed her hand against the previously bleeding cheek of the wolf and found that blood had begun to spill forth once more. She leaned down slightly to check the gash on her chest, finding that wound was bleeding heavily again as well.
‘What? They healed, did they not?’
She gently wiped the blood on the wolf’s cheek with her sleeve. Enid huffed quietly and shook her head, not wanting to ruin any of her clothes.
“It’s alright, Enid, it’ll wash out. Not like I haven’t gotten blood on myself before.” The vampire assured, and Enid allowed her to continue, the wound resealing itself before her eyes under her ministrations.
Wednesday was surprised, to say the least, and she grabbed Enid’s hoodie from the ground as she heard bones begin shifting and popping. She draped it over the blonde’s prone form, averting her eyes momentarily, allowing the wolf some privacy. Enid breathed heavily as the pain was finally registered by her brain.
“I was told that the pain lessens but goddamn, I think I may have been lied to.” Wednesday smiled slightly, still looking away as Enid rose from the ground, quickly putting on the hoodie so she wasn’t completely exposed, some of the blood from her chest seeping into the dark grey fabric. Wednesday finally looked back at the wolf.
“Sorry for grabbing you earlier, and sorry for shifting in the front yard. I just, I wanted to protect you.” Enid reached a hand out before stopping herself and letting it drop. Wednesday found herself disappointed but she ignored it as she looked at Enid expectantly.
“Is your hand okay? I knew I had a bad feeling.”
“My hand is fine, wolf. There’s no need for you to worry, what about your cheek? Your chest? Those wounds seem a bit more than superficial.”
Enid shrugged, looking at the ground, “They burn but it’s fine, it’ll take a couple of days for them to heal up and they'll likely scar but I feel I’m lucky that’s all I got. Thanks for taking that hit by the way.”
Wednesday looked away from the wolf, knowing that if she could blush, her cheeks would be burning a beautiful shade of crimson. “It was nothing. Let’s go back in, I’m sure you’re a little cold and we both need to wash the blood off.”
Enid looked up and nodded. They both stood still in the yard, neither sure who should make the first move. They both stared at each other, then looked away and finally Enid sighed. She then headed back inside, tilting her head towards the door. The vampire followed shortly after, neither getting too close. Both of them not truly accepting their revelations, both completely unwilling to share.

Chapter Text
A week passes by, and they’re both seated in the living room together. Enid resting upon the couch opposite Wednesday. The vampire has a book in her hand, and appears to be reading, though it seems more like she’s pretending to read, to the ever-observant werewolf. But she continues to not say a single word about it as she curls further into herself on the couch, hugging one of the two blood-red pillows that decorated the black leather furniture.
Enid watched as the flames danced about in the fireplace. Her mind was racing, but completely silent at the same time. The wolf continued to stare at her undead housemate, the aforementioned vampire raising a brow from behind the leatherbound book she was trying to read. When she got no response, she closed the book, placed it on her lap, and stared back into the dimming blue eyes before her.
“Yes, Enid?” Her monotone voice tore Enid out of her spiraling mind, and she blinked a couple of times, finally breaking their staring contest.
The wolf smiled sheepishly, “Sorry, uhm…” She paused, biting her lip with her sharp canines. “Did you want to have dinner together? I figured since we’re both here, we may as well.” The vampire stared at her for a few moments before almost imperceptibly nodding her head. The wolf slowly stood from her place and walked over to the vampire, the silence of the house unsettling her. Though it usually brought her comfort, it felt as if the walls were trying to consume her whole. She held out a hand for the slightly weakened vampire to take. Wednesday looked at her and then at her hand and then back once more. The vampire frowned and stood on her own, not missing the crestfallen expression on her companion's face as the blonde pulled her hand back to her side. Wednesday followed after Enid and shadowed her trek to the fridge as they crossed the threshold.
Enid opens the door and pulls out ingredients for a sandwich, her mood too sour to cook. Wednesday grabs a blood bag from her portion of the fridge and makes her way over to the counter next to Enid to pour it into her favorite black mug. She can see Enid’s nose twitch at the coppery scent of the blood, but neither say a word to each other as they finish up making their separate dinners. They both missed the other, but they refused to break the tense silence around them, afraid of what they would say. They sat on the same side of the table instead of across from each other as usual. Their shoulders pressed together as they ate in silence. They stole glances at each other when they believed the other wasn’t looking, the only sound surrounding them being the creaking of the house, the flames in the living room, and the soft patter of rain that seemingly just began.
Enid finished up her sandwich with a sigh before she stood from her place at the table and threw the napkin she used as a plate into the trash. She stood over the trash can for a moment before she turned back to Wednesday.
“Hey, Wens, I’m gonna go on a quick run.” She said, her voice small.
“In the rain?” The vampire asked, looking up from her blood.
The wolf nodded and headed to the threshold separating the kitchen from the living room, Wednesday quickly rising to follow. They both entered the living room, Wednesday still working on her mug of blood.
“You’re going to freeze out there, Enid. Stay inside.” The vampire frowned deeply as her statement seemed to land upon deaf ears. After a moment, the wolf turned to face her, a deep frown on her face.
“I’ll be fine, Wednesday. See me off again if you’d like.” Then she headed out of the living room and down the hall towards the back door. Wednesday, realizing what was happening, picked up the pace and gently took hold of Enid’s arm, stopping her in her tracks.
“I’m not going to stop you. Just please be safe.” Enid looked over her shoulder, making momentary eye contact with the vampire before she pulled her arm from the gentle hold, placing her hand over where Wednesday’s just rested.
“I will be.” Was all Enid said as she escaped out the back door and into the cold winds of December. Wednesday watched as she disappeared into the woods, her heart clinching in anguish. ‘Damn this curse.’ She thought to herself. Her teeth gritted as she continued to stand near the back door. ‘And damn the sun.’ She growled, wishing to go after the wolf into the cold, though she knew in the end it was probably for the best that she stayed behind.
Enid ran along the trees, tears cascading down her face, the rain clinging to any exposed skin. She continued running, her legs carrying her as fast as they could. Though, unfortunately, even her werewolf agility couldn’t protect her from the dangers of her blurred vision as she tripped over a root and was sent tumbling.
The slightly damp, frozen forest floor caught her as she fell, effectively knocking the wind out of her. The tears just wouldn’t stop, even as she rolled over onto her back on the cold, wet earth. She stared up at the darkening sky through the leafless trees, her chest clenching. She sat up and clumsily made her way back to her feet. She itched to run these feelings out of existence as she angrily rubbed her face.
She looked around, finding no living thing but the forest around her. She stripped off her clothes, leaving them hanging on a branch that she’d be able to sniff down later. She crouched low to the ground, anticipating the searing pain, but nothing came. Her eyes flew open as an enraged rumbling began in her chest.
“NO!” She snarled.
Her claws came out against her will as she slashed at the nearest tree. Digging deep into the trunk with her claws. She did this over and over and over again until the tree finally gave way. It leaned her way, and she growled as she pushed away the offending plant that was trying to crush her. Her clothes fell from the tree and landed in a heap at her feet. She panted and looked down at her hands, noticing for the first time that her fingers were bloodied and torn. She growled in response to the scarlet.
“Oh, fantastic! Let’s just add it to the list, shall we?!” She had her jaw clenched so tight she was shocked that she hadn’t broken a tooth yet. “Come on, you useless werewolf!” She screamed into the quiet forest, leaning forward as the pain finally came, her bones shifted and snapped, but the tears continued.
She tasted the saltiness on her teeth. She looked down at her soaked, muddy clothes and took off running into the forest, not caring where she went. All she knew was that she had to get away. The warmth of her fur killed the chill of the wind as she ran, mud covering her paws, stinging as it entered the cuts on her front paws. She howled out her frustrations as she continued ripping through the forest. Her eyes betrayed her lessening control. As she realized that she was losing her battle against her wolf, she found herself grateful. Grateful Wednesday wasn’t out here with her.
Wednesday was still standing at the back door when she heard the powerful, angry howl. Her ears twitched as her mask dropped, her face contorting in concern.
‘I need to go after her.’ She thought to herself, looking down at her usual outfit, her 3 three-piece suit was likely enough for the weather if the wolf lost her clothes in her pain and anger.
She approached the door, taking the handle in her palm. As soon as her fingers curled around it, her spine was hit with a jolt of electricity. Her head forced back as a vision consumed her whole.
// She was out in the forest. She had Enid’s clothes within her hands, having just found them next to a fallen tree. The claw marks in the wood made it obvious that it was Enid’s work. She gripped the wet clothes as the wolf’s scent overtook her senses. She wandered aimlessly through the dark forest. The sun had set shortly after she made her way out of the imposing mansion. The ground became mushy as the rain picked up in force, soaking the vampire to the bone. She remained unbothered, however, her undead body easily adjusting to the cold temperature.
She pushed forward before stumbling upon fresh tracks. Wednesday leaned down to observe them. Though it was obvious who the large tracks belonged to, as they were far too big to belong to a regular forest wolf. She picked up her pace, jogging through the mud using the tracks as a guide. She stopped suddenly after coming to a clearing. The vampire stood just on the outskirts of the forest, while the werewolf stood directly in the center. The wolf seemed to be observing the stars before she turned to face Wednesday. The vampire immediately spotted a difference in the wolf’s shining blue eyes. Instead of her companion’s usual black pupils, white was the color staring at her from the center. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she stared unblinking at the feral Enid.
“Enid, everything is going to be okay. Please return to the mansion with me. You are going to become ill.” Wednesday didn’t dare move, watching as the giant wolf before her bared her teeth at the short undead seer. ‘I won't be able to beat her in a fight in this state.’ She thought to herself, trying to remain as still as possible.
“Enid, if you can hear me, please, return to the mansion with me.” The wolf growled low as she approached, snapping her jaws at the vampire in a territorial manner. In a quick movement, the wolf was nearly atop her. Wednesday barely managed to jump out of the way, rolling to lessen the impact as she ended up in a kneeling position.
“Enid! It’s me!” The wolf attacked once more. Wednesday dodged the attack with just a moment to spare. Her landing was much less graceful this time as she rolled in the tall grass, back slamming into an unseen rock. Her teeth clenched as she rose to her feet once more, shocked that the blow didn’t cause any bleeding in her weakened state.
“ENID!” She yelled out desperately, the wolf easily pouncing again. She wasn’t fast enough to dodge this time as she was shot across the clearing. She weakly clung to Enid’s clothes as her back made hard contact with a tree trunk. She looked up at the wolf as it slowly approached her.
“Enid…Please.” She began coughing and sputtering, blood spilling from her lips as she coughed up petal after petal. The vampire was thankful that she didn’t need oxygen as she could barely pull in any air.
The wolf now stood over her, and she finally managed to stop coughing as she looked into feral blue. The color matched the storm around her. Gingerly, she reached out a hand and placed it against the wolf’s muzzle, willing her to see who she was. The wolf raised a paw, and she closed her eyes tightly, waiting for the finishing blow. //
Wednesday was shoved back into her own body. She had a white knuckled grip on the door handle. She clenched her jaw, not really knowing what choice she should make. Should she risk Enid not having control and killing her? Should she leave her out in the cold on her own?
She shook her head. ‘As if that’s even a question.’ She thought angrily, wrenching the door open and heading out into the cold winter air.
She made quick work of getting across the lawn and into the dark, wet forest. Her platform boots sinking into the saturated earth, though she couldn’t be bothered to care. She kept an eye on her surroundings as she went deeper and deeper into the forest. Her nose eventually led her to the tree Enid had murdered. She picked up the clothes her companion had left on the ground. The fact that they were completely soaked being lost on the vampire, who only had one goal in mind: Find Enid.
She continued moving, waiting for the envisioned prints in the mud. There was no sound in the forest around her aside from her footfalls. When she finally came across the tracks, she took a momentary pause, though instead of investigating them as she had done in her vision, she simply looked deeper into the forest, knowing that soon she would stumble upon the now feral wolf. She took a deep breath as she continued forward, sprinting through the trees, wanting to find Enid and finish this. She had hopes that maybe-just maybe-she wouldn’t lose her head.
She stopped just inside the clearing, staring at the giant wolf in the center of the field. Enid surely smelled her and turned around.
‘How do I placate her?’ She thought to herself as she squeezed Enid’s clothes to her chest. Then she spoke.
All Enid saw was darkness. She didn’t know how long she had been here, how far she’d gone, or where she was. She was floating in an endless stream of nothingness. What was her wolf doing? What had become of her?
She tried to grip onto her consciousness. But with no luck. The feelings that had consumed her were still too powerful to beat into submission.
‘At least Wednesday is safe.’
At the thought, she heard herself growl, and a momentary glimpse into the outside world began.
Her own thoughts tumbled, tripping over themselves in empty space. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Wednesday Addams. Her housemate. Her friend. Her Willa.
Before her, the vampire trembled on the ground, blood staining her mouth and the mud below. She clung to her discarded clothing as if it were a lifeline. Then she held a hand out to the wolf. Enid struggled against her internal chains as she heard the vampire’s voice fill her mind.
“Enid, if you can hear me, please, return to the mansion with me.” Her mind raced, wanting to reach out for the hand of her companion, but in an instant she was gone, consumed by complete darkness.
‘No. NO! Not Wednesday! Please not her.” She fought against the chains in her mind. She fought against her wolf to regain control. A desperate pulsing eating away at her body and mind in tandem. Then her feral side appeared before her, a scowl covering its features.
“What do you think you’ll gain from this? Why are you trying to save her?” Her own voice rang out, filling her ears.
“Wednesday doesn’t deserve this! We got too far in our own heads!” She yelled at her counterpart, and it snickered back.
“Ah, yes. It’s Enid’s fault as always. You know, this kind of self-deprecation isn’t good for you.” Enid growled at the wolf’s words.
“We haven’t said a word! How can we blame her for the distance? How can we blame her for how we feel? She’s not used to this sort of thing, and we got scared. That isn’t her fault!” Enid approached her feral other half and gripped its forearms tightly. “We can’t do this to her. I’m taking control. Whether you like it or not!” With that, she bared her fangs, headbutting herself in the face, and stunning the feral Enid.
All at once, the real world exploded into view. She looked down at Wednesday, who was now soaked in blood. She internally shrieked. She placed her raised paw down onto the earth before leaning forward to nuzzle into the scarlet-covered girl who now looked to a tree for support. She whimpered and immediately laid down on top of Wednesday. She heard as the dark woman sighed in relief and enjoyed the feeling of her hands running through her soaked fur. Slowly, her bones began to pop and shift once more. She groaned as she returned to her human form. She rushed to put her hands on Wednesday, terrified that she wasn’t really there at all.
Her voice was hurried, and remnants of her transformation broke her words as she spoke. "I am so sorry. That’s never happened to me before. Did I do this?” She asked, as she pointed to the blood that ran down the vampire’s chest. Wednesday leaned forward, taking her jacket off and wrapping it around Enid’s nude form.
“No, no. I coughed up some more petals. You didn’t cause me anything more than bruises. I am fine, Enid.”
Tears sprang to Enid’s eyes as she pulled the seer into her arms.
“I’m so sorry, Wednesday, I thought I had better control than that, I-”
Wednesday quickly cut her off, gently removing herself from the strong arms. “Let’s go, Enid.” Everything’s fine. I’m fine.” The vampire tries to stand, but her legs give out and she collapses back to the forest floor. She laughs bitterly, and Enid’s ears perk up at the sound, wishing she were hearing it under different circumstances.
“I’ve got you,” Enid says before she scoops her up into her arms. Wednesday’s weight hardly registers as she heads back in the direction of the mansion. The vampire finds it easy to relax in the warm embrace and closes her eyes as she’s carried back home.
When she awakens, she’s been changed and dropped off on the couch. The clothes she held onto for dear life were nowhere in sight. Her book was placed on the table before her, and a mug filled with warm blood was on the table.
‘Enid must have been able to tell that I would wake up soon. She’s incredibly thoughtful.’ The vampire cringed at the thought before she took the mug into her freezing hands. ‘I hope I’ll be able to say something soon…She deserves to know.’

Chapter Text
The next day, Enid awoke to a room cast in darkness, having forgotten to open her curtains the night before. She frowned as she replayed the previous day's events over in her head. She was shocked that she had seemingly attacked the small vampire, never having lost control of herself before. She pushed her hands into her eyes and groaned as she sat up, some self-hatred coming to the forefront of her mind.
‘Wednesday deserves an apology, we've gotta talk about this.’ Enid thought to herself, biting her lip almost hard enough to bleed. She stood from her bed and wandered to her closet, pulling out a more colorful outfit. Maybe a splash of color will make this crushing guilt go away. She quickly dressed before turning towards the door and slowly making her way over to it. She placed her hand on the knob and hesitated. ‘What if she hates me now? I can’t believe I let myself get lost like that.’ She frowned deeply, shaking the thoughts from her head, taking a deep breath as she opened the door, stepping through and into the hallway, the door clicking shut behind her. She steeled her nerves as she made her way down the hall and into the living room, expecting the quiet vampire to be sitting on the couch with a book as she always was. “Wednesday I-.” She began before realizing that the room was completely silent and empty. Enid moved through the living room and into the kitchen, then into the dining room, then she moved back out into the hallway, opening almost every single one in her search for her favorite vampire.
She grew a bit more panicked as more and more rooms turned up empty, the grumpy vampire seemingly having disappeared without a trace. She was now sprinting through the halls, barreling herself through doors, having completely thrown caution to the wind. ‘Wait, her bedroom.’ She turned on her heel and quickly passed her room, stopping dead in her tracks in front of Wednesday’s. ‘I’ve already broken so many of her rules.’ She swallowed at the thought, ‘I should definitely follow this one.’ She raised a hand and knocked three times on the wooden surface. Waiting and listening for any sound coming from inside, after a few moments, she started to get antsy. She was just about to push through the door when the vampire finally opened it a crack. Enid took this as an invitation as she made her way into the pitch-black room.
After a few beats of her heart, she heard the swipe of a match and looked over to see that Wednesday had lit a few candles, soft light now cascading over the room. The bed sat on the right side of the room, centered against the wall, her desk with an old typewriter and some sort of black box sat directly in front of her, and the seer's closet sat on the left side of the room in front of the vampire’s dark Victorian style four poster bed.
She shook her head, quickly snapping herself out of her observance of the seer's tidy living quarters, as she turned to face Wednesday, she clasped her hands behind her back as she swayed from foot to foot.
“Wednesday, I wanted to talk about what happened yesterday, I-.” Wednesday raised a hand with a shake of her head. “Think nothing of it, Enid, I’m fine. I only have one question,” Enid swallowed a lump that suddenly appeared in her throat. “What happened that you lost control like that?” Wednesday’s red eyes pierced hers in the low light of the room, Enid scrambled for an explanation that wouldn’t give her away.
“I was just angry about the attack and how I couldn’t protect you better, I mean, you took a silver stake to the chest for me, Wends!! Why couldn’t I move out of the way of my own accord? What if you hadn’t been there?!” She took a deep breath, thankful that she at least wasn’t completely lying to Wednesday. “I just, what good am I if I can’t even protect myself?” She asked, her voice small now as she stared helplessly into the seer’s eyes.
Wednesday was fighting an internal battle, knowing she didn’t know how to comfort others but also craving more than anything to take the pain she saw in the wolf’s eyes away from her. She sighed as she approached her slowly, taking her arm into her hand, her grip gentle as she stared at where they touched.
“Enid, that is not your fault. You were magnificent.” She lifts her head to look into Enid’s eyes, the look that lay in those dimming blue eyes shot a jolt of electricity straight through her as she forced herself to maintain eye contact. “What matters is that we are here now, we’re both fine, and you fought valiantly. Do not be so hard on yourself, you do not deserve it.” She watched as Enid’s lips turned up in a small smile as she placed her hand over where Wednesday’s rested.
“Thank you, Wednesday. That’s so sweet of you to say.” Enid’s eyes were soft as they stared back into hers. She felt as if something ungodly tried to pull them closer. Nope, she couldn’t allow that. She nodded simply, quickly breaking free from the spell before removing her hand from Enid’s arm. “Yes, of course.” She nodded her head as she backed up a few steps, Enid’s smile still not leaving her face as she backed towards the door. “Want to go to that cafe? Maybe have an early lunch?” Enid asked as she stopped just before the door, looking down at her watch. She chuckled softly as she looked back up at the vampire, “A late lunch, I should say. Guess I spent too long looking for you.” Wednesday’s eyebrow arched in question, and Enid just smiled at her before turning and walking out the door. Wednesday quickly grabbed her coat and followed after her, stepping out into the lowering sun.
“You forgot your cloak.” Wednesday bared a fang, “Yes, I know.” The wolf shook her head before handing Wednesday her coat, instructing her to put it over her head. “But you need this, it is cold.” The wolf bared her fangs in a large smile at the seer’s show of concern, “I’m fine, I burn warmer than the usual human remember?” Wednesday rolled her eyes at the slight jab coming from their first conversation. She sped up so she was walking in front of Enid, looking over her shoulder at the smug wolf before putting the jacket over her head, subtly taking in the wolf’s scent as she responded, “Right.”

Chapter Text
The next three weeks seemed to fly by. They spent a bit more time together instead of purposefully avoiding each other, they read together, and shared ideas with each other. But with everything they talked about, neither of them spoke of what they had discovered that night. Wednesday would not explain why she would cough up petals now and then with increasing frequency, and Enid wouldn’t explain why her wounds sealed and then began to bleed once more. Neither of them questioned the other, figuring it would all come out in time.
But it was eating at them both. What did this mean for them? What kind of power did one hold over the other? Wednesday wondered if her spiral and almost rejection caused Enid to bleed again. If her avoidance of the wolf hurt her so much that her wounds had to weep out her suffering. Enid wondered if she had triggered the second curse and if that was the reason the vampire was coughing up petals and looking increasingly sickly by the day.
They both knew they were running out of time to figure this out and yet, they were both too afraid and too prideful to be the first person to speak. They were at a complete standstill and neither of them knew which path was the correct one. They both trod lightly, dancing around what they were feeling for each other…Until today.
Wednesday was wandering the halls, it was probably about 5 AM now and she had finished a good 3 chapters of her novel, which she commended herself for. She had not coughed up a petal in about a day but she felt increasingly weak as the days continued to pass them by. This confused her as she had not been rejected yet, so why was she dying?
She wandered further down the hall, walking silently past the wolf’s room, and stood in front of the window at the end of the hall, pulling the curtains back to look at the sleeping forest outside. The trees danced in the now winter breeze, she saw a few animals skittering here and there, she almost looked for herself in the glass pane, wondering how bad she looked. Though she knew she would have no reflection in the glass. Still, she wondered, Enid looked more and more worried the past few days but kept her mouth shut regarding her concern for the deteriorating vampire.
Is this what her parents were telling her about when she was young? She knew of the curse and how it worked, she knew she would die if she was rejected but they had never told her about this. Was it because she was a vampire? Was she doing this to herself? Convincing herself that the bubbly wolf would be better without her?
That thought alone almost made her want to keel over in pain. When had she become so weak? The most terrifying vampire in the state, AND an Addams, couldn’t handle little feelings like this? Why had she let this happen? Why did she have to care so much about the wolf?
She felt a suffocating tingling at the back of her throat and she leaned forward against the window, coughing and heaving. This time, instead of just a few petals an entire black rose head came tumbling from inside her, dark black blood dripping down her face. She stared at the flower on the floor, completely unmoving. She stayed pressed up against the window pane as she heard a door open behind her. She tensed, she couldn’t let Enid see her like this.
“Wednesday? Are you alright?” Enid asked, her voice soft as she approached the vampire’s slightly hunched-over form.
“I’m fine, Enid. You should rest.” Her voice came out scratchy, as if she had just swallowed a few nails, considering she had just coughed up a rose she guessed it wasn’t too far off.
Enid noticed the rose and could smell the vampire's black blood, though, thankfully, it didn't seem she had stained the carpet with it. She furrowed her brows in concern, carefully reached out and pressed her fingertips to the vampire’s back, Wednesday tensed momentarily but then relaxed, slightly leaning against the grounding pressure.
“You shouldn’t have to see me this weak, Enid. I’m sorry.”
Enid was surprised by the apology and she shook her head, knowing the vampire could see her reflection in the window. She stared into where she thought Wednesday’s eyes would be.
“You’re not weak, Wednesday. I could never think that of you. Please look at me, I just want to know you’re okay.” Her voice was still soft and gentle, no judgment coming from it whatsoever. Wednesday thought about refusing but at the last moment she turned around to face the wolf.
Enid looked into the dull blood-red eyes before her, which continued to dim as the days progressed, regardless of whether the vampire ate or not. She reached a careful hand out and wiped the blood from her face with her thumb, sad to see the vampire in such a ragged state.
Wednesday stared back into whitish blue, the glow of the blonde’s eyes never failed in pulling her in like a moth to an open flame. Enid’s eyes were unfortunately much the same as her own, the light slowly going out. Though Wednesday doubted Enid's life was on the line, which she found herself oddly thankful for. Then she looked at the girl’s cheek, the cut still not managing to heal correctly, it appeared as if it had been aggravated in the girl’s sleep and she wanted to reach out a cold hand and soothe the tender flesh. Though she didn’t dare move.
“Wednesday I-.” Enid paused before sighing, “I hope you don’t get mad at me.” And with that she pulled the vampire in for a gentle hug, her powerful form easily keeping the sickly vampire standing. Wednesday tensed as she wasn’t sure exactly what she should be doing. Enid only tightened her hold and eventually, Wednesday hugged back, burying her face in the slightly taller woman’s shoulder. She could feel the tears burning at the back of her eyes but she refused to let them fall.
They stood like that for a while, the sunrise beginning to peek through the open curtains. The wolf, noticing this, released Wednesday with one hand and swiftly closed the curtains before she returned the hand to where it had previously rested.
After a few more moments, they separated and Wednesday took notice of how the wound looked much less irritated now, the red that had surrounded it virtually non-existent. She took a deep breath before she reached a hand out and ran her thumb over the wound. Enid closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of the vampire's cool touch against the burning flesh. She pressed her face against the vampire’s palm and a rumbling began in her chest, almost like a cat's purr. She didn’t even know she could produce such a noise.
The longer Wednesday’s hand rested against her cheek the less the wound burned, she found herself grateful for the relief. When she opened her eyes the vampire was much closer, almost as if she was studying the wolf before her. Enid’s face flushed slightly but she didn’t pull back, curious to the vampire’s next course of action. She stared back at Wednesday, noticing how she looked slightly less sick than she had not even 10 minutes ago, her skin less pale and her eyes less sunken in, maybe even a bit of the red glow returning to them. Her eyes widened slightly as her brain made the connection, Wednesday noticing this change in expression backed away from her slightly, removing her hand from the warm flesh of her housemate.
“Sorry, I got lost in my thoughts.” The vampire said, her voice smoother than it had been before. Enid shook her head, gently taking the vampire’s hand into her own and returning it to the wound on her cheek.
“Don’t apologize, I don’t mind,” Enid spoke and held eye contact. Wednesday seemed surprised at this new piece of information, although Enid had no idea why. Enid decided, at this moment to be brave, though she figured she knew the outcome of her words already, she released Wednesday’s hand as it continued to rest against her cheek. “I’m happy you reached out, it hurts a lot less with your touch.”
Wednesday almost pulled her hand back but instead, she sighed out the feeling of fear and gently caressed it with her thumb. “I’m...glad I could help you.” Enid smiled her horrifically beaming smile and took the vampire’s hand into hers once more, happy to be proven wrong for once. “Let’s grab an early breakfast.” Wednesday only nodded and followed after her, their hands never separating.

Chapter Text
After breakfast, they decided they would take a walk in the woods together. They walked through the slightly overgrown grass, the vampire leading as she basically knew the woods like the back of her hand at this point. She was leading Enid to a nice cave towards the back of the property, hoping to surprise her with what lay inside.
As they made the journey, they simply enjoyed the scenery and each other’s presence, taking a couple of breaks for the vampire here and there. It seemed a bit dreary outside despite the sunlight; all the leaves had fallen from the trees now that it was early January, and clouds would occasionally block the sun's rays from reaching them, making the forest around them seem darker than it should be. It unsettled Enid a little, but she was a werewolf, and she was with Wednesday; she knew that she’d be perfectly fine.
After about 45 minutes, they finally reached their destination, and Wednesday bravely took hold of Enid’s hand. She knew the wolf could see fine in the dark, but she just felt the urge to allow herself to be close to her, at least for now. The vampire led them inside the darkened cave. Enid looked around at the different rock formations, stalactites hanging from the ceiling, almost looking like the cave had teeth in the darkness. Enid almost chuckled at the thought, while she was distracted by this she tripped over a larger stalagmite formation on the floor.
Enid’s chest collided with Wednesday’s back, and this sent them both tumbling, though Enid made the split-second decision to twist her body so that she could cushion the vampire’s fall. They both hit the floor with a grunt, and Enid held Wednesday tight to her chest. She soon released the vampire, trying to catch up with the air that had been knocked out of her. Wednesday slowly rose from the floor, turning over on top of her, the vampire obviously trying and failing to force a glare. Enid lay trapped beneath the vampire, completely unmoving, eyes slightly wide, she looked up into the vampire’s eyes as they were only a few inches apart. Enid saw as Wednesday’s eyes began to glow brighter, more than she had seen them do so in the past week or more, completely unaware that the vampire was watching something similar happen with the wolf’s own blue eyes.
“Why’d you do that? I could’ve taken the fall. Then you wouldn’t have gotten the wind knocked out of you.” Wednesday asked, not backing up an inch.
“I just didn’t want you to get hurt. I know you’re not fragile, but I just have an urge to keep you safe.” The wolf responded, slightly breathless, though she couldn’t tell if it was the fall or their close proximity that was stealing the air from her now. The vampire caught sight of the girl’s blush even in the low light.
The vampire didn’t respond for a moment as they just studied each other. Wednesday felt pulled into the wolf by some outside force once more. She slowly leaned closer, and Enid’s eyes shone brighter. Realizing this she snapped out of it and she slowly sat back, straddling Enid’s legs between her own.
Enid held back the whimper of disappointment, knowing how hard of a time the girl had with any sort of feelings. She was trying to be understanding, but watching Wednesday wither away like this was hurting her more than she expected. Enid leaned up and pulled the girl atop her into a hug, she felt the vampire tense for a moment before relaxing. After a few moments Wednesday pushed her back and stared at her intensely.
“What’s troubling you, Enid?” She asked firmly.
“What?” The wolf responded, confused by the question.
“You’re crying.” The vampire answered simply, wiping away one of the wolf’s tears.
“Huh?” Enid replied dumbly, reaching up to her face and feeling the warm tears on her fingertips. She began trying to rub them away, growing more frantic as the tears wouldn’t stop. “What? Why.” Enid said, pressing her palms to her eyes, willing whatever was going on to cease.
Wednesday reached out and pulled her hands from her face, staring right into a melancholic blue. The pain in those eyes caused her to blink, she wasn’t expecting such strong negative emotion in the usually bright, joyful eyes.
“Enid,” Wednesday spoke, before pulling her into a bone-crushing hug. If Enid weren’t a wolf, she certainly would have been squished under the pressure. “I’m sorry.” She finished into blonde hair as she held her tightly against her chest. She felt a warmth that she hadn’t ever felt before and the feeling scared the ever-living shit out of her.
Eventually, Enid's breathing evened out, and the tears stopped flowing. “Why? You don’t need to be sorry.” Enid said, her voice oddly flat as she held tight to Wednesday’s suit jacket. Wednesday grew more anxious by the second, good thing she didn’t need to breathe, she may have passed out by now.
“I’m sorry I’ve hurt you.” The vampire replied quietly, her voice solemn.
“You’ve done nothing wrong, I’ll be okay,” Enid responded simply, pressing her cheek into the black fabric of Wednesday’s jacket. “I’ll be okay.” She whispered.
Wednesday felt a different warmth on her stomach, through her two layers, the scent of blood hitting her nose forcefully. She pulled back from Enid, staring at her face where blood now ran free once more. Her eyes quickly lowered to see blood already staining the front of Enid’s outfit.
“Why?” The vampire was on the edge of seething. “Why won't they just heal?!” She took Enid’s face into her cold hands, smearing Enid’s warm blood onto her porcelain skin. She tried to wipe it away, but moments later, the blood would return to the same place she had just swiped it away from. She ground her teeth, her fangs scraping against her bottom lip, almost hard enough to bleed.
The vampire then leaned in and licked the blood from the wolf’s face, the wound momentarily sealing. Enid was entirely unprepared for such an action as her eyes widened. Wednesday pulled herself back, although the wolf’s blood tasted lovely, she would not let herself succumb to any sort of hunger involving the girl. Her mouth now slightly blood-stained, she looked into Enid’s eyes for what felt like the millionth time that day. Wednesday was thankful that the wolf’s bleeding cheek had stopped for the moment, knowing there wasn’t much the vampire could do about the large wound on Enid’s chest, though as she looked back up, she noticed the wolf's tears began once more. The wolf closed her eyes, trying to push the tears away. At that moment, the wolf decided that if Wednesday wouldn’t take the leap, she would. She looked back at Wednesday with so much determination that the vampire felt frozen in place.
“Don’t hate me, okay, Wednesday?” The vampire was confused by such a request before Enid tightened her hold on her and pulled her in for a searing kiss, hoping to whatever god, goddess, or just whatever could hear her that Wednesday wouldn’t just bolt away from her. She was completely shocked when the vampire kissed her back with fervor. They stayed like that for quite some time, breaking apart so Enid could breathe before their lips came back together again. When they broke away the final time, the cave ceiling lit up above them, and to Enid it felt as if the stars were smiling down on them.
Wednesday finally stood and offered the wolf her hand, her lips slightly upturned as the light began returning to her eyes. Enid grasped it, and the vampire pulled her up easily. They stood side by side, staring at the ceiling. Enid could almost vibrate with nervous excitement. They returned home as the darkness began to finally set in. The wolf bouncing next to the vampire, Wednesday felt a weight lifted from her shoulders. She knew this would likely be difficult for both of them. Especially with her own hatred of expressing her feelings, but she’s lived long enough, experienced enough, and she wanted to share those things with the wolf beside her.
She could do this…right?

Chapter Text
They walked into the Weathervane the next day, Wednesday, sitting next to her instead of across from her in their usual booth. Enid beamed at her and they ordered. Enid chose a cup of spicy diabetes while Wednesday went with her usual quad over ice.
‘Her smile is blinding, yet I find myself unable to look away.’ Wednesday thought to herself as she gave her order.
Once they gave their orders to the waitress, the vampire turned her head and looked at Enid, who turned to look at her and tilted her head with a softer smile.
“Enid.”
“Wednesday.”
“Would you join me for a midnight seance in our family graveyard this evening?”
Enid’s eyes widened as she processed what she was asked, and after a moment's hesitation, she nodded, knowing that whatever reason Wednesday had for inviting her out to such a place must’ve been an important one. Wednesday smiled slightly, and Enid caught sight of her dimples. The wolf stared even after the small smile faded from the vampire’s face.
‘Her smile is beautiful, her dimples are so cute.’ She thought absentmindedly to herself.
Their drinks came soon after, and Enid’s gaze left the vampire next to her. They talked over their drinks about nothing in particular and remained in the cafe into the late afternoon.
After throwing out their trash, Enid offered her hand to Wednesday, and to her surprise, Wednesday took it. They walked out of the Weathervane and down the sidewalk. The sleeve of the vampire's cloak covered both of their hands and protected Wednesday’s skin from the sun’s rays. The people who walked along the sidewalk still parted for the supernatural pair, some grimaced as they walked by, and some seemed happy for them; either way, they didn’t particularly care.
The winter wind tried to blow the vampire’s sleeve up on a few occasions, and Enid easily forced it back, though she did so subconsciously as she spoke about her friends Yoko and Divina. Wednesday listened attentively as they slowly approached the manor.
“And then Yoko got kicked out of their house for the day. I guess Divina was really unimpressed by Yoko’s curiosity about her species. Though Yoko probably shouldn’t have thrown water on her, like she would turn into a fish just by being wet. Yoko really shouldn’t take her advice on other species from Hollywood movies.” Enid chuckled as she recounted the story, happy to be able to share things about her friends with someone who would actually listen.
Wednesday nodded in agreement, “This ‘Yoko’ certainly sounds interesting for a centuries-old vampire.”
Enid laughed as they walked down the more forested path leading to the manor. “Yeah, well, I guess she’s still pretty young considering she’s only around…200 years old? I think.”
Wednesday responded, “Hm, yes, she’s still relatively young compared to myself.”
Enid smiled as she looked around at the scenery and how it looked so peaceful in the setting sun, even though the trees were completely barren. “How old are you anyway, Willa?”
“Well, I was born in the early 14th century, so I’d be around 717. Still relatively young but not quite that young.”
“Wait, so you were alive during the Black Plague?”
Wednesday turned her head to look at Enid with a smile, “Yes, though I was already a vampire by that point. I was also around for the 100 Years War, most of the rise of the Ottoman Empire, the fall of said Empire, of course, and many, many other things. I even predate some of the first books made about vampires.”
“Do you have a favorite 'vampire book'?” Enid asked, using air quotations with her free hand.
“Yes, I quite like Carmilla and Dracula respectively. Carmilla was written 25 years before Dracula was. If I’m honest, that book seemed pretty queer to me, even back then. I liked the thematic tones it held, for example, the ambiguity of love and lust. Carmilla and Laura’s relationship seems to have some lines blurred between romantic love and, of course, predatory desire, with the vampirism aspects. While Dracula, I feel, has some tones of the battle between tradition and modernity. The Victorian Era held a lot of scientific progress, though Dracula was more interested in his religious culture, it seemed.”
Enid nodded her head, looking at the vampire who seemed very pleased with the discussion they had begun.
“Please, continue,” Enid said happily as they walked up the drive.
“Of course, though you do know that either you have to read them, or I have to read them to you now, correct?” The vampire asked, opening the front door for the excited wolf.
“Yup!!” Enid giggled as she skipped through the door with Wednesday following behind. Wednesday felt warm, like the ice was melting away from her still heart at a rapid pace as she followed Enid inside, prepared to continue where she had left off.
____________________
It was 5 to midnight, and Enid and Wednesday trekked across the grass, heading for the Addams family cemetery. It looked well-kept, the grass was not overgrown, and the headstones were clear of dirt and easily legible.
As they got closer, Enid moved in front of Wednesday and walked so her back was facing the graveyard ahead. She pointed at the black case that the vampire held firmly in her grip.
“What’s that?” The wolf asked curiously, tilting her head.
“You shall see, wolf.” The vampire replied easily, and Enid pouted before returning to her side and entering the cemetery with her. Wednesday walked along speaking of her family members, how some of them met their fate, and stories of their still-living relatives. Enid listened to every word, doing her best to commit the large amount of information to memory.
They finally came to the center of the graveyard, and a stone gazebo stood tall and proud in front of them. Wednesday led Enid under the structured roof as she sat the mid-sized black box that looked a lot like a house in the center. They sat next to each other in the seats that surrounded the center table. The vampire fiddled with the box with experienced hands, she opened it to reveal a crystal ball. It had a pinch of dust which Wednesday easily wiped away.
“I am sorry for not informing you earlier, but I did not wish to make you too nervous,” the vampire stated as the ball began to glow an odd purple. “But I wish for you to meet my parents, their names are-”
“Hello, my little viper- Oh? Who is this you have with you?” Wednesday’s father asked as his human form showed up in the smoke of the ball, his same stocky figure, signature mustache, and his brown eyes seeming to sparkle in excitement.
Wednesday sighed, “As I was saying, this is Gomez Addams, my father.” Enid smiled and waved at the little man in the ball as another figure came to stand beside him. She was a taller, thin woman with perfect red lipstick, long black hair, a straight white smile, and brown eyes that shared the same shine as she looked at her husband in much more contained excitement.
“And this is Morticia Addams, my mother.” Wednesday finished off as Gomez kissed the back of Morticia’s hand. Wednesday cringed, “Keep the PDA to a minimum, please.” The vampire’s parents only laughed before looking at them once more.
“Father, to answer your question, this is Enid Sinclair. She is a werewolf, and quite ferocious.” Enid waved to them both and smiled politely, “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Addams, it is lovely to meet you.”
“Please call us Morticia and Gomez, dear, no need for formalities.” Enid flushed slightly, playing with the sleeve of her shirt that sat hidden beneath the table. “Yes, ma’am.”
Morticia smiled at her, “We’ll work on it, dear.” Her eyes moved over to her stone-still daughter, the smile still not leaving her red lips, “You seem different, Wednesday dear, I assume this spectral call is related to the reason.” Wednesday nodded before standing from her seat and turning to face Enid. The wolf looked back at her in confusion.
“I wanted you both to witness the very first love of my 717 years of existence.” Enid’s eyes widened, and Wednesday held out a hand for Enid to take, which of course Enid would not refuse. Wednesday shot her a small smile and gently squeezed the hand in hers as she looked at her parents, both of whom were grinning from ear to ear, absolutely ecstatic but containing themselves for the time being. She found herself impressed by her father’s ability to control himself, shocked he wasn’t in tears yet. The vampire returned her gaze to Enid, taking her other hand so that she held both.
“Enid Sinclair, will you please do me the great honor of becoming my girlfriend? I promise to protect you and to fight alongside you for as long as we shall live, my heart shall never belong to another in this lifetime or in the next.”
Tears welled in Enid’s eyes as she almost knocked the vampire off her feet with the force of the hug she gave her. “Absolutely, yes!”
Wednesday’s parents finally cheered, and tears streamed down her father’s face, “Oh, my dead heart is filled with joy for you, my little death trap! It is such a joyous occasion to see you so happy!” He sobbed, and Morticia wiped his tears as she smiled lovingly at him. Then she turned her head to face her daughter once more.
“We are beyond thrilled for you, my little raven. I am thankful you decided to share this with us.” Wednesday separated herself from a still-crying Enid as she nodded at her mother, flashing her mother a small smile. Her mother seemed taken aback as she had never seen her daughter smile before; her smile grew bigger in response, and both Enid and Wednesday returned to their seats. Enid immediately began talking animatedly to Wednesday’s parents, the vampire watching her, feeling the ice continuing to melt little by little. It almost felt as if her heart might beat again.
“And what of your family, my darling?” Her mother asked Enid, who looked down slightly saddened for a moment before perking back up.
“I was removed from my pack, it’s just me now,” Enid replied, slightly saddened. Wednesday immediately shot a glare at her mother.
“I am so sorry, mi loba, we did not know. But do not worry, you have a family here and you always will.” Gomez said as he sent Enid a smile. Enid smiled back and laughed.
“Thank you, Mr- Gomez, that means a lot to me.” Enid grasped Wednesday’s hand as she began speaking again. They talked through the night and into the morning. Saying their goodbyes along with Enid promising to speak to them again soon they gathered up the ball and walked back to the manor, Enid’s heart lighter than it had been in her entire life.
Once they got inside, Enid gently cupped the vampire’s face and left a chaste but passionate kiss on her lips, which Wednesday easily returned.
“Thank you so much for everything, κοράκι μου.” (My raven)
Wednesday simply nodded and guided the now very tired werewolf to her room. She was about to leave when Enid reached out and gently grasped her sleeve.
“Stay while I sleep, please?” Enid gave her best tired puppy eyes, and Wednesday shook her head as she lay down beside her. And although the vampire didn’t need sleep, they both drifted into a peaceful slumber in each other’s arms.

Chapter Text
Two more weeks fly by them, then one Thursday in mid-January, Enid comes into the living room and sits next to Wednesday as she drinks her cup of blood. She looks like she’s debating something with herself. The vampire puts her cup and book on the table, turning her upper body to look at the wolf beside her.
“What’s troubling you, Enid?” She asks softly, taking Enid’s hand into her own.
“Huh? Oh. Nothing huge, it’s just that uhm…” A long pause as Wednesday waits patiently for the wolf to finish. “Well, I got an invite to join in on a family dinner, a plus one was invited as well, which is completely unexpected, as I thought they wanted no further contact. I’m not even really sure how they found me, but…” Another shorter pause, “I was wondering if maybe you would go with me. You can say no, of course, but I think I’d be much more comfortable if you were there.”
Wednesday sighs softly, caressing the back of Enid’s hand with her thumb as she thinks. She supposed this would be a good opportunity for studying Enid’s family dynamic, though she also figured there would be trouble considering how Enid spoke of her mother in the past.
The vampire releases another sigh, “I will join you, but not because I want either of us to go. I am more interested in seeing not only what you came from and endured but also the dynamics within your old pack.”
Enid nodded, a small smile on her face as she stared into Wednesday’s eyes. “Thank you, it really means a lot.”
The vampire shook her head. “Think nothing of it, when is this event scheduled for?”
“This weekend, I have already received both tickets, though I’m sure they were expecting a refund for the second one.” Enid frowned, pulling said tickets from her pocket.
“I see, well, we should probably get to packing then, I’m interested to see their faces when I walk in alongside you,” Wednesday said with a smirk as she rose from the couch, holding her hand out to her wolf, which Enid quickly took hold of. She followed Wednesday to her room with much less energy than usual. Once they reach her door, Wednesday opens it for her and follows her inside.
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“I have to, I hope facing them again and perhaps finally expressing my feelings to them and properly cutting ties will bring me some closure,” Enid responds as she digs around in her closet.
“Hm, as you wish. Just remember, I’ll be right there with you.”
Enid turns back and smiles at Wednesday, “I know, and I still appreciate that. My family can be a lot, so if you want to leave at any time, please let me know.”
Wednesday nods and walks over to the closet to help her choose her outfits for the weekend.
***
The weekend that Enid was dreading finally came; she almost hoped that it wouldn’t. She squeezed the hand in hers as they got off the plane. Didn’t let go as they got a taxi to the Sinclair house. As they grew closer and closer, the werewolf fidgeted more and more in her seat, increasingly anxious. Wednesday watched her with a frown, now wishing she had put more force into not allowing her girlfriend to put herself into this situation.
The car slows as they finally reach their destination. Enid stares up at her old home wide-eyed.
“Enid. Enid. Enid? ENID!”
Enid jumps and looks to the source of the voice. Her stoic vampire girlfriend looks at her with eyes full of concern under her dark hood.
“Are you sure you want to do this? We can return home immediately if that’s what you want.”
Enid shakes her head, removing herself and her bags from the car. “No, I need to do this. I’ll be okay, I promise.” She gives Wednesday the best smile she can with the nerves rushing through her. The vampire reaches out a gloved hand and gently caresses her cheek, the same spot that refused to heal those couple of weeks ago, now just a fading scar. The vampire leans over and presses a quick kiss against it before gesturing for Enid to walk ahead of her.
They both approach the front door, Enid walking inside first. Everyone was there, and all of their eyes were on her the second she slipped in the door. Her mother looked at her with slight malice and heavy disinterest, her father with a hint of sadness, which she ignored, it’s not like he ever really helped her– her older brother seemed happy to see her as he was the first to approach and pull her into a hug.
“Hey Nids, I missed you.” He whispered into the top of her head before he released her and took a step back. She then looked back at the family. Her younger brother was also looking at her with disinterest, but she knew he still loved her; he just wanted to please their mother. Which up until this point she understood.
Then, after a moment of assessing the situation, Wednesday walked in behind the nervous wolf. In an instant, all eyes are on her. Enid’s mother specifically seemed like she was trying to kill her with a look, to which the vampire just looked incredibly bored. Wednesday moved to stand next to Enid, lightly shutting the door behind her.
Enid began mentally marking out the apparent myth of vampires needing to have permission to enter a house.
“And who might you be?” Enid’s mother, Esther, asks while glaring daggers at the vampire. Wednesday looks straight into Esther's eyes from under the dark hood, which makes Enid’s mom tense, obviously trying to fight baring her teeth.
Wednesday raises a hand, offering a shake to anyone who wishes to take it. Esther steps up and firmly grasps the vampire’s hand, seemingly surprised when Wednesday squeezes back just as hard. ‘What, did this wench think I was human?’ Clearing her throat quietly was all she could do to keep from scoffing.
“Greetings, I am Wednesday Addams. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Wednesday, chances taking short glances at the rest of the family before her eyes land back on Esther. They release each other's hands, and Enid’s mother offers her a terribly fake smile.
“I am Esther Sinclair, pack alpha, that is Murray Sinclair, my husband, the older one there,” She points to the young man standing next to Enid. “That is Cedric, he is my oldest. And the younger one over there is Carlyle, obviously he is my youngest with Enid having been our middle child.”
Wednesday’s eyes glowed a vibrant red when she heard the words ‘having been’ in reference to Enid, and her jaw tensed as she nodded, still trying to remain respectful. “Well, thank you for allowing us into your home. May we get settled in before you tell us the plans for the day?”
Esther nodded with another glare directed at the vampire, the vampire internally smirked as she took Enid’s hand in her own. “Let us go, Cara Mia.” The wolf blushed and nodded, following behind Wednesday as she gave her directions. They walked up the stairs and down the hall stopping at the third room on the left, Enid opened it to reveal a pretty barren room, though it was clean and obviously had been lived in.
“Was this your room?” Wednesday asked as she took their bags and began hanging things in the closet, preparing every outfit for every day in a specific order. Enid nodded her head, “Yes, it used to be my room.” She sounded a bit sullen, and once the vampire was done putting their things away, she walked up behind the wolf, wrapping her arms around her waist, pressing a kiss to the back of her neck.
“Try not to let her get to you, min varg (my wolf), I am here with you, and if things get too overwhelming, we can always go back home.” Enid nods and turns to face her girlfriend, resting her head on the girl’s shoulder. “I know, thank you.” Wednesday nods and places a kiss against Enid’s cheek.
Then the door to the bedroom opened. In the doorway stood Murray Sinclair. Wednesday lifted her head and made direct eye contact with him, to which he seemed nervous.
“Hey, sorry for intruding, I just wanted to check on my- on Enid.” He corrected himself softly, knowing Enid was still upset with his lack of action, and he couldn’t blame her. Enid buried her head further into Wednesday’s shoulder. Murray stepped into the room, gently closing the door behind him.
“Wednesday.”
The vampire looked at him, her typical stoic expression perfectly placed.
“Thank you for taking care of my daughter. I-.” He sighs, “I know it’s terrible that I didn’t stand up for her, but that woman is a beast, and ultimately, I do love her. I hate when she’s cross with any of us, and I truly thought getting out of this house would do her some good. So, thank you again for taking care of her.”
Wednesday only nodded, tightening her hold. “I would do anything for Enid.”
Murray smiles, “I’m happy to hear that.” He looks at Enid, “I still love you, baby girl, I hope one day you can forgive me.” With that, he left the room, just as quietly as he had come, and Enid began to shake as soft sobs left her. Wednesday guided them down to the floor as she held the sobbing wolf. She was never good at comfort, but she would always try for the wolf in her arms.
Once Enid had cried herself out, the vampire scooped her up and walked her over to the bed, laying her carefully across it, crawling into the other side. Once settled, she pulled Enid to lie on her chest, and although her heart didn’t beat, she breathed alongside the wolf, hoping that it would help her calm down. It seemed to work because after about 5 minutes, the wolf in her arms was fast asleep. The vampire ran her hands through blonde hair and whispered to her, “I will always protect you, Enid Sinclair.” She paused and then smiled softly, whispering, “Enid Addams.”

Chapter Text
There was a soft knock at the door to which Wednesday responded with a monotone, “Come in.” The door opened and then closed to reveal Enid’s older brother, Cedric. He smiled as he saw them lying together. “I’m glad she has you, Addams. I don’t know anything about you, but you seem to make her happy.”
Wednesday simply responded with a nod, and Cedric continued, “Anyways, I came up to let you know dinner is ready. I’d recommend coming down pretty quickly after I leave, as Esther gets…antsy.”
“Of course, we will be there shortly.” Cedric nodded before exiting the room, and Wednesday gently woke Enid. Once she finally opened her beautiful blue eyes, Wednesday stroked her unscarred cheek. “It is time to go down to dinner, mi amor.” Enid nodded as she slowly sat up and stretched, her shoulders and back popping as she did so. They both got up and remade the bed before heading downstairs for what was sure to be an eventful dinner.
Once arriving, they sat down at the table. Esther was at the head of the table with Murray sitting to her right, and Cedric sitting to her left; the youngest, Carlyle, sat next to Cedric on the left. Wednesday pulled out the chair next to Murray, and Enid sat quietly, thanking her as Wednesday took the seat at the other end of the table, both Wednesday and the pack alpha watching each other closely.
Then Esther began asking the boys about their days while they filled their plates and began to eat, Wednesday drinking her blood from a black thermos she had brought along. Cedric gave short but descriptive stories about his day while Carlyle was a bit more long winded, listing all of his achievements and seeming a bit cocky. Wednesday watched the interactions with an unreadable expression, and then Esther's eyes landed on them.
“Why aren’t you eating? Is my cooking not good enough for you?” Esther asked, seemingly wanting any reason to start a fight. Wednesday put the lid over her drink before once more looking at the older woman.
“That is not the case, I’m sure the food is lovely, I simply have dietary restrictions,” Wednesday stated matter-of-factly, not wanting Esther to have another reason to jab at her daughter, she was already dating a woman, she didn’t need to know Enid was also dating a vampire.
Enid sat quietly, a bit thankful that Wednesday left that fangy detail out. She continued eating her food, stealing glances at the vampire, nervous about this whole interaction.
Esther seemed unimpressed by the answer but didn’t press it, not getting the reaction from the stoic vampire that she wanted. She chose to move on to Enid.
“Enid, what has happened to your cheek? That’s quite a jagged scar, no one will choose you as their mate with such a mark.”
Enid met gazes with her mother, which seemed to surprise everyone at the table, with the exception of Wednesday. The vampire began feeling a sense of pride as her wolf stood up for herself.
“I’m really not all that concerned about that, Esther, and you shouldn’t be either, considering it is no longer something that you have to worry about.” Esther clenched her jaw.
“I’m only saying, dear, you should probably have that looked at, see if they can reduce it at all. I mean, you had such a beautiful face before.” Esther made her tone sweet as she dug daggers into her former daughter with her words.
Enid’s face flushed in anger as she responded, “If it never heals, I’m fine with that; it was worth receiving.”
Esther frowned, “I don’t understand how such a thing is worth receiving for anyone other than your mate, and you don't have one.”
“I do have a mate; she’s sitting right in front of you. But of course, that could never be a good enough answer for you. I got it protecting her, something you’d never be willing to do for my father, so how about you mind your business and not mine. I didn’t come here to fight with you, I came here to introduce you to Wednesday and then cut all ties with the Sinclair pack, that is all.”
Wednesday was very proud of Enid as she hid a smirk behind her drink, barely containing a snicker as Esther looked as if she was about to blow a head gasket. The elder wolf’s eyes began to glow a golden color as she bared her teeth and stood from her chair.
“How dare you speak to me in such a manner!” Her eyes flashed dangerously as Enid also stood from her seat, her eyes flashing a dangerous icy blue. Wednesday sighed as she also stood, placing a calming hand on Enid’s shoulder. Esther’s attention turned back to her.
“Who the hell do you think you ar-” Wednesday interrupted her without a care, “An Addams, your daughter is soon to be an Addams too, it’s a proud name, unlike this one, and an eternal one,” Esther growled low, a warning. Wednesday chuckled quietly.
“Don’t give yourself a heart attack there, old woman, she’s safe now and cared for, which I can tell you obviously despise. I take it your reason for inviting your exiled daughter was to attempt to embarrass her or shame her, but that simply isn’t going to work. She is stronger than you could ever know, and the fact that you gave up such a wonderful woman and such a magnificent beast sickens me. I sincerely appreciate dinner, but I believe we will be leaving now.”
Esther was around the table in an instant, grabbing hold of Wednesday’s arm, her claws threatening to rip another one of the shirts she likes. Wednesday frowned, removing her hand from Enid’s shoulder as Enid growled low behind her. She enjoyed such a dangerous sound coming from the usually bubbly girl.
“I ask that you remove your hand from me. I dislike being touched, and if you wish to keep it, this is your only warning.” The two brothers were silent as they watched with wide eyes. Murray seemed nervous as he fidgeted in his seat, watching what was unfolding. Enid rested her chin on Wednesday’s shoulder from behind, leaning against the table and crossing a possessive arm in front of Wednesday. For the first time in her life, she bared her sharp canines at her mother. Wednesday began to count down.
“5.” Esther’s hand remained planted as she looked at her daughter with slight shock.
“4.” The older werewolf looked at the short girl in front of her, sizing her up, weighing her options.
“3.” Esther’s grip tightened to a point that would have certainly bruised her if she were still human.
“2.” Wednesday said darkly, her body tensing as she prepared for a fight.
“1.” Esther released her at the last moment, Wednesday's eyes flashed red as she sighed a calming breath through her nose.
“Perfect.” The vampire stated as she straightened out her sleeve, easily dodging as Esther reached out with her claws for a swipe. Enid quickly grabbed her mother’s wrist, moving to stand in front of Wednesday, her anger on top of her blood moon origins helping her to easily overpower the older alpha.
“What the hell are you hanging around Enid? That thing isn’t normal.” Enid squeezed before shoving her mother back a few steps, widening her stance and putting her hand out in a protective gesture in front of the smaller vampire. She knew Wednesday could handle herself, but this was her fight.
“I’m dating Wednesday Addams, a beautiful woman, a powerful psychic,” She leaned towards her mother, baring her teeth dangerously, “A centuries-old vampire.” Her mother looks at her in shock.
“A vampire? How could you bring a VAMPIRE into my home?!” Esther screeched, and Enid smirked.
“You didn’t say I couldn’t bring a vampire.” Enid retaliated, grasping Wednesday’s hand as she led her from the kitchen and up the stairs to retrieve their stuff. Once they threw everything back into their respective suitcases, they headed back down the stairs. She gave her older brother her number and a hug, she finally hugged her father and told him she was sorry it had to be this way, she waved goodbye to her younger brother and finally with the utmost disrespect she sent Esther the one finger salute as they walked (Enid bounced) down the driveway and into the taxi that waited to take them both to the airport and finally return them home.
Once on the plane, Enid sighed and looked at Wednesday happily. “I’m glad you came with me, thank you, my raven.” Wednesday nodded, and they shared a slow, passionate kiss, completely ignoring the stares of people around them before they eventually separated. Wednesday took out a book to read, and Enid sang quietly to her music. A weight had finally been lifted from the wolf’s shoulders. They were both content and relaxed as the plane flew them home.

Chapter Text
The plane began its descent, Wednesday noticing this put her book away, she was almost done with it after the almost 5 hour plane ride. Enid still had her headphones in listening to whatever pop happened to appear in her playlist, her head resting against Wednesday’s shoulder as she peacefully slept. Wednesday looked at her sleeping wolf, really not wanting to wake her. She began debating whether or not she could carry both of their bags and the sleeping werewolf without waking her. In the middle of this thought the plane hit the pavement aggressively, the wolf’s eyes shooting open as she sat up with a start, her eyes glowing brightly and her claws coming out on reflex.
The wolf looked around frantically, before Wednesday’s pale hand covered hers. “Enid, the plane has landed, obviously the pilot is slightly incompetent but everything is okay, we are safe.” Enid’s claws sheathed themselves as she stared into the red eyes of her girlfriend, her eyes still glowing vibrantly. “Sorry Willa, it just freaked me out.”
“You are fine mi lobo,” Passengers began exiting the plane around them as they fell into each other’s eyes. “Shall we go? We are finally home.” Enid simply nodded as they reached into the overhead storage and pulled out their bags, exiting the plane, the wolf waving with a smile as she walked by, the vampire on the other hand shot a withering glare at the pilot who tried to make himself smaller under Wednesday’s piercing gaze.
They walked out of the airport hand in hand to the old black hearse that was parked in the lot. When they reached it Enid took both of their bags and opened the driver’s side door for her vampiric partner, allowing her to shade herself from what little sun was still out within the dark tinted windows. The wolf easily put the bags into the back of the car before she headed up to the passenger side sliding into the seat. Wednesday waited until her paramour was buckled before she pulled out of the parking area and headed home. The drive back was spent in a comfortable silence, their fingers intertwining on the center console.
Upon reaching home the wolf grabbed their bags once more, the vampire waiting for her partner in front of the mansion door. Once Enid finally made it up to her, Wednesday opened the door for her and stepped in behind her. Enid dropped their bags by the couch in the living room before turning to face her counterpart with a wide grin.
“I can’t believe I finally stood up to my mother!” She walked quickly over to the vampire and grasped Wednesday’s hands into her own. “Thank you for being there to support me, and thank you for trying to defend me, although I really appreciate you letting me stand up on my own.”
Wednesday tilted her head, “Why would I not Cara Mia? You are wonderful and powerful and I know that you are capable. I am proud you stood as tall as you did, that woman was truly dreadful and not in a good way.”
Enid smiles, invading Wednesday’s space a bit more. “She is, but I don’t have to worry about that now. I have you.” Wednesday knew if she could blush she would be a vibrant red, she fights a smile. “You do indeed.”
Then Enid does something a bit unexpected, her sapphire blue eyes begin to glow slightly brighter as she places her hands on Wednesday’s lower back, Wednesday looks up at her wolf with wide eyes which Enid only responds to with a smile before she captures her lips in a passionate kiss. The vampire stands there unmoving for a moment before she returns it with just as much emotion. Wednesday presses her front firmly against Enid’s, thankfully her platform boots giving her a much needed boost in height, the smaller vampire wraps her arms around the wolf’s shoulders easily trapping her in her embrace. After a while of this they broke away from each other Enid’s eyes still shining vibrantly, though by this point they had slightly darkened as she smirked down at her lover. Wednesday stared back up into her eyes a faint smirk playing on her lips, her fangs itching inside of her mouth. Enid’s skin felt like fire beneath the vampire’s ice cold touch, Wednesday ran her fingernails gently up and down the werewolf’s back over her hoodie.
“You wanna go on a picnic?” Wednesday asks, her voice soft, her eyes half lidded and full of absolute adoration as she remains fixed in the wolf’s space. Enid nodded her head as she left one final lingering kiss on the vampire’s lips. Then she released the vampire from her grip, Wednesday begrudgingly doing the same. Enid then grabbed her hand, happily bouncing her way into the kitchen dragging the vampire along behind her. They began gathering simple things to take with them on their picnic, some sandwiches for Enid, some blood for Wednesday, coffee for Wednesday, tea for Enid, and things of the like. They packed all of these things away in a black picnic basket and Enid was sure to grab Wednesday’s cloak and a black blanket for her lover's comfort.
It didn’t matter to Enid that the sun was going down, she wanted the vampire to be as comfortable as possible before it did. Wednesday returned with 2 books, one being “Dracula” and the other being “Carmilla”, the vampire smirked as they met in the living room. “I told you I’d read them to you.” Enid just smiled as she handed the brunette her cloak and took the books from the small seer’s hands. “Thank you.” Wednesday said simply, quickly putting on the cloak, taking the wolf’s hand into her own as they made their way to and out the front door, they circled around the side of the house and Enid smiled as she caught sight of the cemetery. She knew she’d have to talk to Wednesday’s parents again soon.
They walked deeper into the woods, thankfully avoiding the spot that Enid had attacked Wednesday in her wolf form, thinking about it still made guilt fester in her stomach even with all of the times Wednesday had told her that everything was fine and that she wasn’t upset with her but instead transfixed by her feral beauty.
They made it to another small clearing with a very small creek running through it, Enid smiled as her ears picked up the comforting sound of running water. Then she laid the basket on the ground, removing the black blanket from its confines. She easily laid it out across the grass and gestured for the vampire to sit, Wednesday sat and looked up at Enid, seeming thinking about something. Enid simply tilted her head joining the vampire on the blanket, she placed the basket in front of the both of them and opened it, gesturing with her hand in an inviting gesture.
Wednesday nodded before she removed her cloak, revealing her undead flesh to the setting sun's rays, the oranges, and yellows framing Wednesday perfectly. Enid was captured by the sight, totally unable to look away, that is until she remembered that her companion was undead.
“Wednesday, what are you doing?”
“Bathing in the sun as you do.”
“But why?”
“Because I wish to understand what it is you like so much about it. Unfortunately it is just making me tingly.”
Enid huffed and bit back a smile as she reached over to Wednesday and put the cloak back over her shoulders snugly.
“It’s really sweet that you wanted to understand me like that Wends, but I don’t want you to have to make yourself uncomfortable to do it.”
Wednesday nodded, reaching into the basket and pulling out her blood bag, she then pulled her signature black mug and gently began pouring the viscid liquid into it. The coppery smell of blood hit Enid’s nose and she cringed ever so slightly but for her girlfriend she’d sit through any sort of bloodbath if it meant she was happy–Is that hypocritical of her? The wolf shrugged her shoulders as she too reached into the basket and pulled out her metal water bottle filled with tea and a couple sandwich slices.
After about 15 minutes of comfortable silence and 4 small triangular sandwiches Enid spoke up. “So, are you going to read to me?” She smirked, looking at her girlfriend over her bottle.
Wednesday perked up with excitement, her mug of blood long empty, “Yes of course Cara Mia, which do you wish to read first?”
Enid put two fingers to her chin in thought before she smiled and stared at the red eyes before her. “Carmilla, please.”
Wednesday let a small smile escape her firm grasp as she pulled it from the two book pile, opening it and beginning to read. Enid leaned closer and placed her head on the vampire's shoulder, listening as her soothing voice carried her away into the story.
*
After a good half of the novella Enid’s head perked up, Wednesday placed a bookmark into the book and waited for Enid to tell her what she was hearing.
“Are there any other properties nearby?” Enid says as she turns her head to look at Wednesday. Wednesday shakes her head as she also begins to hear rustling in the trees. She got way too invested in the story if she hadn’t heard that before, or maybe she was just getting old.
They both searched the treeline, Enid getting into an uncomfortable looking crouched position, her eyes glowing vibrantly. Wednesday’s expression was stony as her beautiful crimson eyes also took in everything around them, the owl that flew overhead, the way the grass moved in the cool late winter air.
Then they both heard it, it sounded like a whip as the object ripped mercilessly through the air impaling itself into Enid's shoulder. The wolf in question hisses at the pain, blood flowing aggressively down her arm, staining her light pink sweater with a dark red.
Wednesday stood, fangs gleaming in the moonlight, eyes blazing viciously as she locked onto her target. They were in camouflage within one of the bushes at the treeline, but their silver bullets that gleamed menacingly in the moonlight were not. She forced Enid to lay down as flat as possible as she rushed their attackers hiding spot, a bullet embedding itself in her chest not enough to dissuade her from disemboweling her target. They fired off a final shot completely missing her as she grabs them by the throat and lifts them off the ground.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing on my property you waste of good oxygen?” The attacker sputtered as he flailed in the vampire’s grip managing to gasp out a few words.
“Kill that…” He gasps again, “Werewolf scum.” He says, looking from Wednesday’s red eyes and over to where Wednesday had left her girlfriend, she squeezed tighter as she noticed his smirk.
“Kill you hunter scum.” She says simply, his eyes widen before she takes her free hand and forces it into his chest, ripping out his still beating heart.
“I’ll leave your corpse here to rot as a lesson.” She says as she watches the light fade from his eyes and drops him unceremoniously onto the ground.
Then she looks over her shoulder and her eyes land on Enid’s crumpled form. “Wait. No.” She says quietly to herself, her vampiric speed moving her to Enid in only a moment. She pulls Enid into her arms, “Enid, Cara Mia, what has happened?” Enid looks up at Wednesday and uncovers her blood soaked chest, the bullet hole in her shoulder now only weeping, but what really caught the vampire’s attention was the gushing hole in the center of the werewolf’s chest. The vampire quickly places her hands over the wound and pushes down.
“No, no Enid, we can stop this, I can get us to a hospital. You will be okay.”
Enid gave her a pained smile, her own blood smeared on her face. The wolf reached up a weak and bloodied hand to place on the vampire’s cheek. “It’s okay Wends, it isn’t your fault.” She gasps and grits her teeth as another wave of agony rushes through her body. “Don’t blame yourself, and know that I love you and I always will.”
“NO!” Wednesday snapped, shocked at her own loss of composure, she looks up into Enid’s fading blue eyes and knows that she has to make a choice. Does she try to turn Enid? Although it has never been done before. And it would make Enid a monstrosity in the eyes of both Werewolves and Vampires alike. Or does she let her die here?

Chapter Text
Enid was fighting hard to keep her hand up, she didn’t want to leave Wednesday, but ultimately fate was not going to spare her this time as her hand became far too heavy and it slowly slid from the seer’s face. Her blood coated the vampire’s pale skin and tears streamed down Enid’s face, carrying her blood down into her hair, staining the light strands a red color.
Wednesday’s eyes snapped to her as soon as her hand fell, tears streaming down from her red eyes against her will. She could tell the vampire was conflicted and she was talking to her though she couldn’t hear anything anymore. She was fighting the darkness that was threatening to consume her, the edges of her vision were going black as she focused on nothing but the vampire. Hoping to take the image of her girlfriend with her into whatever came next.
*
“Enid, don’t close your eyes please. Cara Mia you’re going to be okay, please.”
Wednesday was begging her girlfriend, watching as the light continued to slowly leave her, she knew she had to make a choice but she was terrified Enid would hate her for the choice she wanted to make most. She watched as Enid closed her eyes and panicked, the tears now flowing with force and dropping onto the wolf’s face. She pulled Enid closer and whispered in her ear, “Enid, I am so sorry.” Then she sank her fangs into her neck, forcing her venom into the wolf’s bloodstream, hoping with her whole existence that she wasn’t too late. The pain of her loss spreads throughout her entire body, leaving her numb but also full of agony all at once. Her body gave out on her, forcing her to remain in the position she was in, she pulled away from Enid’s neck and licked the wound until it sealed, waiting without a single breath for any sign of life within her beloved as she silently sobbed against the wolf's blood covered chest.
*
Enid finally let the darkness consume her, she felt light as she floated through nothingness. It was so cold wherever she was, almost as cold as Wednesday. ‘God Wednesday, I’m so sorry.’ If she could cry here she may feel some semblance of relief. But fate wouldn’t be that kind to her, after all it never had been. It just seemed like she was just going to float around for a while, unable to see, hardly able to think, unable to release all of the terrible things she felt.
She hated herself for letting things happen this way, why didn’t she help Wednesday? If she wouldn’t have laid there like a scared puppy maybe she could’ve avoided being hit, maybe she could’ve avoided leaving Wednesday. Wednesday was going to be next wasn’t she? Would they be reunited in the afterlife? Or, what if she didn’t die, what if she just continued living in perpetual agony? It would be Enid’s fault, Enid would be the cause of all the pain Wednesday would feel, and even worse what if she couldn’t reach out to Enid because she wasn’t an Addams yet? What if they were eternally separated by fate? Enid thought that was crueler than even death itself.
Then there was searing agony, it spread through her being like a wildfire and she was no longer floating but falling, falling so fast that she wasn’t sure if she would ever land. The pain made her want to curl up but she found herself incapable, her wolf side appeared before her once again, she was covered in blood, almost howling in agony. Enid reached out and took her other half by the hand, her wolf side transformed before her eyes and pulled her against its fur covered chest, whimpering. Enid turned her head as a new version of herself appeared in her mind…Was this her mind? She pushed the question away.
The other her stepped forward, holding out a pale hand to them both. She was wearing a nice blood red button up and a pair of leather pants that she thought she could never pull off. She looked into the eyes of her third counterpart and was shocked to see that she was staring right into red eyes. ‘Just like Wednesday. Wait. Did Wednesday? No, there’s no way she did.’ She stayed trapped within her wolf's arms, the piercing blue eyes of the werewolf staring holes into the vampiric version of her. ‘Do I have to make a choice?’ She looked from the vampire to the wolf that was holding her close like a prized possession. She had no idea what she should choose.
*
Wednesday was still sitting on the cold earth, it has probably been about 7 hours since the fight that had cost Enid her life. The fight that Wednesday had not even let her wolf fight back in, instead forcing the proud beast to cower. She was still holding the girl close, clinging to the small amount of body heat she could still feel coming from her lover, hoping that this meant that she was still hanging on to life and that she wasn’t going to reject the change. A wolf had never been turned before so Wednesday really had no idea what to look for, she didn’t know if Enid accepted the change or if the wolf did or both. She was at a complete loss and she hated it, and despite the wolf’s dying words she still blamed herself. Had she not suggested that picnic she would’ve never gotten shot, had she never fallen in love then maybe Enid wouldn’t be in this situation now.
She shook the last thought from her head as the pain bloomed in her chest once more. ‘Damn, I had just gotten rid of that too.’ She thought to herself before finally, she stood, taking Enid’s limp body with her. Her legs tried to give out on her but she refused to let Enid hit the ground like that, she would protect her with everything she had left. She looked back at the forgotten basket and decided she’d leave it there, it could all be replaced.
She began making her way back to the mansion, the journey was slow as she would look ahead, and then back down to the girl that was unmoving in her arms, and then back up again. She didn’t process as she passed the cemetery, she didn’t notice as she crossed the threshold and into the warm house. She blinked, looking down the hallway. “Enid would probably want to go to her room. But what if she wakes up, I should take her to mine.” She mumbles quietly to herself, closing the door behind her and making her way down the hall.
She approaches her door and opens it, kicking it closed behind her with a little too much force as she quickly makes her way to her bed and lays the wolf on her black duvet. Then she sits down next to her and just stares, taking in every single detail of her face, the scar on her cheek from their first fight together, the lines in her cheeks from how often she smiles, the blood she forgot to wash off of her before laying her down.
‘Oh, I should probably clean her up.’ She stands up and makes her way back out of the room, running on auto pilot until she’s back at the blonde’s side with a wet rag. She begins clearing the blood from her face and neck, double checking to make sure the wound she had caused was sealed. And when she was finished she dropped the rag onto the floor to be dealt with later, Wednesday curled up next to the wolf and closed her eyes, for once willing sleep to steal away the agony she felt.
*
To Enid it felt like mere moments as she continued to stare at herself, questions sprinting through her mind. She decided she’d ask them, tired of the utter silence and the staring contest.
“Do I have to choose?” Her voice echoed in her head, she winced at the volume. Her wolf side squeezed her tighter as the vampire stepped forward.
“No. So long as your wolf accepts the change as well, you will not have to choose. You will be a hybrid, a first of your kind. Though, with that title unfortunately you will be considered a monstrosity among both species. It is up to you, accept the change and live, or reject me and die.” As the vampire said this she stared daggers at the wolf holding her protectively in its arms, it whimpered and shifted back to its human form, slowly releasing its hold and backing away a step.
“I don’t know about this.” The wolf said, shifting nervously from foot to foot. Enid clasped her hands together in front of her, biting her lip. “I think it’s for the best that we accept. Think of the positives, we get to be with Wednesday again, we get to live forever, or at least longer than the typical human, maybe we can even use our status to finally unite werewolves and vampires.” She looked over her shoulder and she watched as her wolfish counterpart's shoulders slumped in a sigh.
“Fine, I'll trust you, but I’m not sure how good of an idea this is. I feel like the blood lust will be off the charts.”
Enid smirked, “Good thing Wednesday’s blood is black and cold then.”
*
Wednesday still sat next to Enid, her chin and mouth resting in the palm of one of her hands, the window was open allowing sunlight to grace the usually darkened room. The light was touching her sensitive skin but she didn’t even feel the sting of it, too transfixed on the woman before her. It had now been almost a month since she had lost her, she hadn’t expected it to take so long, she was growing concerned. But because of the nature of the situation she had chosen to be patient.
She looked down at the watch on her wrist, the analog face reading 6:46 pm. The sun should be going down anytime now. She refocused on the blonde, eyes watching closely for any possible movement. She was thankful she was undead, she could sit and stare instead of having to sleep, she hadn’t really left Enid’s side since it happened. Aside from when her thirst started to get the better of her. She had a mug of blood resting on the bedside table but she hadn’t been able to bring herself to drink yet today, her stomach twisting up in knots.
She knew if she didn’t wake up soon she’d likely have to bury her, and god she didn’t want to think about burying her lover. Tears pricked at her eyes but she forced them away, refocusing on staring, the light from the sun hitting more of her exposed skin now. Still she continued to ignore it, knowing how much Enid loved the sun, she was trying to love the overly bright ball of gas too because all it did was remind her of Enid and how her light might be eternally extinguished.

Chapter Text
Wednesday sighed, pressing her palms into her eyes when she heard the shuffle of blankets. Her head shot up, red eyes staring with a new brightness, hoping, praying that Enid was finally coming back to her. She took in a breath that she didn’t need when Enid turned towards her, her eyes glowing a deep violet instead of the red or blue that the vampire had expected.
“Cara Mia.” Wednesday said breathless, tears streaming freely down her face. She reached out a hand and caressed the wolf’s face, shocked when Enid gripped her wrist and tugged her closer, sniffing her and baring her teeth.
‘Oh, right. Bloodlust. Shit.’ Wednesday thought to herself as she frowned, trying to will her tears to stop so she could properly see, she pulled her arm free of Enid’s grasp and moved in front of the door.
“Enid, it’s gonna be okay. We can work through this, I have been there. I know how to assist you.”
Enid’s teeth remained bared as she lunged, sinking her fangs into Wednesday’s arm. The vampire grunted the pain being ignored by her as she tried to get Enid’s attention.
“Enid, it’s me. Come back to me. I know you’re afraid but everything will be fine.”
Enid only growled and slashed at her chest with her claws, digging them into flesh and tearing her shirt, though this shirt probably needed burned, she hadn’t changed since that day. The thought suddenly making her want to set herself on fire, her blood now mixing with Enid’s.
“ENID.” She snapped out, grabbing ahold of the arm she just used to slash her, bending it just enough to make Enid whimper and release her other arm from her teeth. She felt terrible as she launched her knee into Enid’s stomach and the hybrid girl collapsed. Enid looked up at her, the fog beginning to clear from her eyes, the violet lightening up as she took in the injuries she caused.
Tears sprang to Enid’s eyes and she looked down at the floor, still trying to capture breath she didn’t need anymore. Wednesday grabbed the mug of blood from her bedside and gave it to Enid, wrapping the girl up in a tight hug.
“Wends, I’m so sorry, I’m-” A sob stopped her in her tracks as Wednesday just held her, she took a small sip from the mug in her hands trying to calm the internal war, then her small sip turned into downing the entire thing and she gently placed the mug on the floor. Burying her face into Wednesday’s shoulder.
“Why do I keep hurting you?” Enid asks and her voice breaks.
“It happens Cara Mia, sometimes you hurt the ones you love the most. But that wasn’t you and I do not blame you. Allow me to help you, we can get through this.”
Enid nodded her head, but the thought of hurting her again made her want to disappear into the night, to gain control over herself before she hurt Wednesday again. But, she really wanted to enjoy this small amount of time she had left with the vampire she loved, so she allowed Wednesday to help her to stand and they both headed off to the bathroom. Deciding that they would both bathe together and just enjoy each other's presence.
*
Once they finally made it to the bathroom Wednesday helped Enid undress and started a bath for them both, then she easily lifted the blonde into the water before stripping herself and slipping in behind the tired wolf. The vampire took a rag she had left on the side of the tub and got it wet, covering it with soap. Then she gently began cleaning the blood from the wolf, the bullet holes almost completely closed up, Enid leaned back against her front as she began cleaning around the wound in her chest. Enid tilted her head up, trying to catch the vampire’s eye.
“Does this mean I can’t be killed by silver or by stakes? Or does this mean I can be killed by both?”
Wednesday shrugged a shoulder, keeping her voice low and calm despite the storm raging in her chest. I’m not sure mi amor, but seeing as your body has been healing the silver wounds I would say the former, it will likely be very hard to kill you from now on.”
Enid nodded her head, closing her eyes as she enjoyed the feel of the rag gently erasing the grime from her skin. Although she had been out for almost a month and it was almost March now she still felt so tired. She faded away into nothingness once more.
*
Wednesday took them both out of the tub, allowing the bloodied water to drain fully hoping the memories would go along with it. She was careful not to wake the wolf, she dried her off gently and would take pause if the wolf would stir but thankfully she managed. She didn’t bother with dressing herself or Enid as she carried her back through the empty halls and into her bedroom, she tucked Enid beneath the black duvet much like how she did the very first night the wolf had graced her with her chaotic colorful presence.
She stared out of the window into the now dark world and she sat down on the edge of the bed next to Enid’s resting form and finally tears once again began to stream down her face. She tried to hold them back, tried her best to push them away but they wouldn’t listen, they continued to stream down her face in warm rivulets. She put her hand over her mouth trying to keep her silent sobs from stirring her girlfriend, but unfortunately the wolf felt the aggressive shakes of the seer’s body. Enid slowly sat up and pressed her front against Wednesday’s back, holding her close and listening as Wednesday let out all of the anguish she’d been holding in.
Enid slowly rocked them back and forth, whispering sweetly to her vampiric girlfriend until she finally calmed down. Wednesday turned around to face her, glowing red eyes puffy and her cheeks tearstained. She pulled Enid into her arms, squeezing like her life depended on it, like she thought Enid would disappear if she didn’t hold her together. Enid hugged her back with just as much force, her heart clenching as the powerful vampire before her crumbled.
“Enid. I-” She cleared her throat, Enid couldn’t tell if it was because of the tears or her ongoing struggle with being vulnerable, she assumed the latter. “Enid.” Wednesday tried again, looking into glowing violet eyes. “I thought I had lost you, I thought you would hate me for making such a choice for you, I was almost too late, I-” The seer bit hard into her lip almost drawing blood and the wolf shook her head and released Wednesdays lip from her teeth, “I don’t think I could ever hate you Willa. You did what you thought was right and I don’t blame you for that, I would have made the same choice.” The wolf frowned, her hold on the vampire loosening.
“I’m just so scared of hurting you again, I don’t know what I’m capable of now and-”
“My love, you won’t hurt me. The only reason you inflicted damage before was because I was in such a weakened state. When I am at full strength our fights will be nothing, I am already feeling much better than I was just hours ago simply with the knowledge that you’re here with me now.” Wednesday’s red eyes stared even more deeply into vibrant violet, “We will figure this out together, I couldn’t take it if you disappeared again. Please, remain at my side, there is nothing we cannot achieve if we are together.”
The wolf frowned but nodded her head, still mulling over the choices in her head. She loved Wednesday, didn’t want to leave her, but she really wasn’t sure if she was safe to be around yet. She decided in that moment if she ever lost control again she would go, she would learn how to control herself properly. But for now, she would remain at the seer’s side just as she promised.
Maybe eternity with the vampire won't be so bad afterall.
*
It’s been two weeks since Enid had quite literally risen from the dead. She wasn't fully healed but Wednesday had kept a close eye on her and taken good care of her wounds. So at the very least they were closed and well on their way to being nothing but more scars. She was finally able to be up and about, she couldn’t go on her usual runs yet but Wednesday had said that would come in time. She had finally learned the path to the library where she spent a good amount of time now. Wednesday would join her on many occasions and they’d just sit quietly reading together.
Wednesday hadn’t let herself get too close to the wolf which worried Enid, though she couldn’t get herself to admit it. Enid wondered if the vampire felt guilt for what she had done or if Enid herself had pushed her away the last time she had attacked her and Wednesday just didn’t want to admit it.
She sighed quietly as she closed the book she was reading, her thoughts racing far too much for the blonde to be able to focus on the words. Instead she looked over to her partner… Wait, could she still call her that? UGH! Enid grit her teeth in frustration, unbeknownst to her Wednesday watched in her peripherals as the blondes' eyes flashed from their now usual violet to a raging blue.
Wednesday had noticed that her eyes did this last week, when she was hungry they’d glow an aggressive blood red, when her emotions got out of control they usually would be blue. Although occasionally they had been red. Wednesday assumed this was due to lycans being more emotional than vampires.
Wednesday looked up from her book, looking directly into Enid’s eyes as she was already staring at her. The blue almost piercing her nonexistent soul. The vampire tilted her head and waited, seeing if her silent gaze would push the wolf to speak.
“Wends are… Do you still think… Fuck!” Enid took a deep breath, running her fingers through her hair.
“Sorry. Are we still together?” She finally managed to get out, her blue eyes looking through the vampire, filling the seer’s chest with anguish.
Wednesday stood from her place at the other side of the table, placing her book down onto it and approaching her ailing wolf. She got down on her knees in front of Enid and cradled her face in her hands.
“Enid, you mean more to me than my entire lifetime, I feel terrible that I have inflicted this curse upon you. But I am also very thankful that now we get to live through eternity together. I will not have to be alone again, I will not have to die knowing that I have lost you. I am sorry that I have been distant, I am still learning to deal with this crushing curse, learning to deal with such a powerful, all-consuming emotion.” Wednesday paused for a moment, looking into the wolf’s eyes, watching in amazement as they began turning to their usual violet before her eyes, the wolf’s internal storm calming down.
“I love you, Cara Mia, I hope that one day you never question my devotion to you. My heart is yours, my body is yours, and if I had a soul it would belong to you as well, wherever it is I am sure it also sings for you. You are the most painful and most incredible thing that has ever happened to me Enid Sinclair. I would truly have it no other way, I would not change a single thing.” Enid’s violet eyes were brimming with tears as she sniffed, she finally leaned down and captured the vampire into a bone crushing hug.
“Thank you, Wends, I love you too.” Enid pulled back and stared into her lover's crimson eyes. “I was worried you regretted bringing me back. I know you think this is a curse, but the only person whose opinion matters is yours. I know Yoko will accept me, and so will Divina, you were the only one I was worried about. I don’t know how I would’ve reacted if you’d have said that you wished you hadn’t done this.” Enid nuzzled into her neck and crawled down onto the floor, placing herself in the vampire’s lap. They just sat there for a while, enjoying each other’s presence.
After around an hour Enid pulled back, a huge grin stretched across her face. “I should finally introduce you to Yoko Tanaka and Divina Selines, I haven’t messed with my phone in so long they probably think I’m dead.” She paused for a moment after saying that before she busted out laughing, using humor to lessen the trauma. “I am dead… Half dead? But regardless, I’m sure she’s worried. I can set up a time and place for us to meet though, I'm sure you guys will have the best love-hate relationship ever.”
Wednesday only nodded, pulling Enid back against her, feeling the heat still coming from her. ‘Too cold to be a wolf, too warm to be a vampire, but yet also still too cold to be human. What a wonderful walking contradiction she is.’
