Work Text:
It was so hard. Wanda didn't want to do it, of course not. But she did it, for him, for Vision, because that's how she wanted it to be.
And there she was on the ground, kneeling, tears flowing down her cheeks. After that explosion she had caused herself, by destroying the gem and as a consequence, him. Thanos to one side, looking at the place where the gem - and a person - had been disintegrated.
She was still crying. Wanda had destroyed... the gem, Vision and her heart. Everything, it was so hard.
She didn't want to, but she was relieved to know that Thanos wouldn't get the gem, what she had done was not in vain, if he wanted to kill her after that, it was fine. She didn't care. She no longer had Vision. What did it matter?
But, she was wrong.
What she did. It was in vain.
"We all made difficult decisions" "Today I lost more than I expected"
He had said.
The same Thanos who simply brought Vision back to life. She saw him, alive again, who was trapped in panic at seeing Thanos in front of him. Wanda wanted to be able to do something to stop him, to make him stay away from him, so that he wouldn't take the gem that had cost her so much to destroy, but she couldn't.
Seeing Vision alive lasted only a brief moment, before he snatched the gem from him and his life in the process. So easy, when what she had done had been so hard.
Her chest hurt, her breathing increased, more tears came out; without control, without being able to stop them. Before she didn't have a body to cry over, now there was one. It was inert, by her side.
"I only feel you"
She remembered his words, she remembered what she had lived with him, and Wanda, she couldn't stop crying, she didn't move away from his body. Even if she was turning to ashes and her tears were turning to dust.
