Chapter Text

Dick new he messed up (did he? Really?) his family hated him (except Alfred), apparently fell apart and got back together. But this time they didn't need him and he new he wasn't wanted there but he wasn't alone with more back up than usual he realized he was finally free of a toxic house hold, that's why he set the hero community in flames.

JLA WATCHTOWER: June 25th, 10 pm.

I CAN BELIEVE YOU LIE TO US BUT TO LET HIM TAKE THE BLAME AND HATE FOR UR ACTIONS?!!! Clark yelled with a hatred never seen before meanwhile everybody in the watchtower froze

Superman being mad was something you get to see during years of participation within the hero community but for him to exude so much hate was rare and even rarer was that it was directed to batman his brother in everything but blood, but what people doesn't know is that the bat kids are not his nephews and nieces they never acknowledge or accepted said love and before batman became his brother he already had a surrogate nephew that he loved (with a little guilt) more than Kon el and Jon. Because this was his first baby boy the one that not only did he helped raise but when the early days JL was in trouble he was there backup even if he was 10 years old, this was the boy that was stripped of his legacy and memories of his parents when kicked out of Gotham, the boy that while running away he knew that there was one person that will never abandoned him and that was his uncle Clark.

The pleas left everyone ashamed of how they have treated him.

"It need to be done" said Batman

"Goldie is to much of a soldier its his fault" Jason said

"If Wing still went then he decided to lie!" Said Tim

"Grayson whon is not Father's fault that he wasn't mentally strong, Tt" said Damian

" I don't know when you guys started covering for abuse as long as it was Dickie but all 3 of you have brought shame to the name 'Robin', specially you Damian, he saw good in you even when nobody else sees it, am surprised for your irrational thinking Timothy I thought you were the smart one and Jason, you say he is to much of a soldier for Bruce but at the end of the day Dickie is not the one wearing a bat in his chest and believing everything Bruce says." Clark said with an icy tone that let them speechless

"I would fight with you Bruce, but you showed me you are not his father and he ain't your son, you are not worth fighting with and Dickie needs me, so I have to go!"

While heading to the zetatubes his personal phone dinged and when he checked it he flinched enough so that all the other heroes saw it.

Wifey/Lois: I just received a video of what Bruce did if he or any of his kids show to our house I'll shoot them!!! Let them now😡.

Wifey/Lois: Hun we have to talk........

You are invited to the wedding of Richard John Grayson Wilson and Helena Bertinelli, also. With a picture of bride and groom dressed elegantly with the family of the groom (Alfred and Selina with Slade Wilson and his family)

The shock in Clark's face is enough so that the Leaguers and other members of the superfamily rushed to him as he's knees gave up.

He thought that after everything Dickie may need some space to restore their relationship but he was getting married. (My god Dickie is getting married finally)

He quickly recovered and called Lois. "Lois accept it please before it have a chance of disappearing!"

"Already did 😘" was heard from the other side of the line.

The Leaguers didn't know what happened until flash (Wally) and Donna also received their invites and where on the verge of crying while rushing to show them to Clark. Said 3 heros now rushing for the zetatubes ignoring everyone else that wanted to know what happened until they where near the zetas that Dinah used here canary cry to bring them out off their thoughts.

"What's going on?" Asked Dinah

All 3 heroes just shouted "FAMILY MATTERS!!!"

everyone understood that it was something related to Dick and some felt shame because they were he's aunts and uncles too but haven't acted like it, the titans and YJ original members wanted to shout that was there little brother to but they abandoned him to the teen titans and new YJ members wanted to cry that was their big brother or surrogate father in some cases.

And all the bats froze because it was some good news for Dickie who hasn't contacted them in months and they understood they were no longer his siblings and it make theme feel panic for the first time since he came back.

Flash and Trois went with Superman to his house and talk to Lois, who was already calling dick as soon as she heard the zetas going on their barn. Hey Lois you got the invite? Is all Dick said What do you mean if I got Dickie???!! You are getting married and we haven't even met your girlfriend!!!!!!! Screamed Lois Boy wonder you have 2 days to bring her to Clark's house so we can meet her!!!! Yelled Donna Rob what the hell!!! Do we know her??!! Does she now about our jobs??! Are you happy??! Said Wally in halve a second and nobody got it but Clark Bring her over I want to meet my niece and I have some questions about your new family but just letting you know that as long as you are happy that's all we care Dickie. said Clark sounding so much like Pa kent that Lois and Dick where dumbfounded. "Ok uncle Clark we can be over in 30 minutes if y'all are available." "Hurry up short pants I have to fight my future in law to see if she is worthy of you!"

JLA watchtower 10:30 pm

"If nobody have anything else to say I have cases to solve back at the cave." Said the dark knight without leaving room for discussion.

"If you mind Master Bruce there's updates of the cave and from Lucius you should here before getting caught off guard when you get there" Alfred said scaring everyone even the bats as it is really rare to find him in the watchtower

"What is it Alfred that is so important for you to come all the way here? Asked Jason.

"The batcave and manor has been cleared up from anything that belongs to my grandson Richard, from childhood possessions to his Robin,Nightwings And Batman suits and gadgets, the latter has been rearranged with more material to fit Master Jason and Lucius has specified that Wayne technologies will no longer produce Robin theme suits or gadgets." Said Alfred while holding en black versión of Damian's Robin suit without the 'R' on the chest.

All the bat kids gasped as Batman just let a low growl.

"Good there's no need for anything related to my dead son" said Batman low enough that only the bats could hear him

"THE FUCK YOU MEAN YOUR DEAD SON OLD MAN" Hood yelled while rasing his fists. Goldie did al kind of things for you and now his just a broken toy that you throw in the trash ha?"

"JASON YOU ARE MY SON MY ELDEST SON, HE WAS JUST A OVERSTAYED WARD" Bruce yelled back

"One more news Master Bruce and was made by the specific request that you received it here"

WHAT? Bruce grunted.

"Miss Selina Kyle has filed for divorce." While giving him a set of documents"you have been served Master Bruce"

Bruce didn't know how to react as he love Selina but he was sure she have seen the video, she has loved Dick as her own son since he was 8yo Robin. But he did all of this to protect them why can she understand it. But if she sides with Dick there's no need for here. He needs to be married as Bruce to keep his image but batman needs someone that can control his kids.

"Alfred hire the best lawyers- . Bruce was interrupted by Alfred"Miss Kyle has requested the divorce to be effective as soon as possible and she will only keep what was hers originally" handing Bruce a box that contains Martha Wayne's pearl necklace and matching wedding ring and earrings. Leaving Bruce shocked and heartbroken. Alfred returned first to the batcave.

Lane-Kent household 10:30 pm

Lois opened the door to receive Dick and his girlfriend.
Surprising everyone bc they know here and as shocking as it was they yelled HUNTRESS?.

"Gee, way to steal the show Hel" Dick said trying not to laugh. "Richard your family is incredibly a lot like you for not being related by blood are you sure this is not your real dad?" While pointing at Clark, "or blood sister?" Pointing at Donna.

Lois just raised one eyebrow and said "Dickie you seem genuinely happy with her but we would appreciate to know more about how you know each other a now are getting married." Trying to keep the calm in the household.

"Ok let me tell you how much of this happened and then you can ask us questions, alright?" He said while giving a genuine smile they haven seen in a lot of time.

"It started in spyral she was the agent with the codename Matron, we were partners and she has been inside my head and now how much I have suffered and still loves me, she went back to Gotham 6 months before I came back so about a year ago, she found me at my lowest and has been helping me ever since I got away from the manor."

"You could live better than this Richard" Dick turned around not expecting company after his family hates him. "What are you doing here Matron?" He asked.
"Not Matron anymore and right now not even huntress, just Helena checking up on you because...." She started blushing. " I want us to keep being together Richard not just a fling during a mission but I know you are hurting and I'm willing to stay with you but you have to let go of what's hurting you"

"So it's you or my family it's what you are saying?!! In the verge of crying trying not to scream said Dick
"No am just asking you to let me help you and once you are good again you can go back to them if you want I will need more than just me to help you" she said.

"I don't have nobody else other than you or Tony or M and A" he tried thinking." Everyone else's is just to deep into knowing the bats , who else do I have?" He started losing his composure.
"You know who you have Richard just give him a chance after all he has been more your father than Bruce will ever be, just give him a chance if not for you then do it for me to have more to help you with, please"

"Ok Hel I think I get in contact with him let's go" he said
"Where to? She asked, "am in no condition to go hunting for him so I'll make him come to us" he said while cackling and she started thinking maybe this is gonna be her best or worst shot at helping.

They drives through Bludhaven into a good looking high-end apartment complex, when they got in she followed him as he looked like he was walking home instead of going to meet deadstroke the Terminator.

They waited 45 minutes inside the apartment, he even started cooking a very very big meal just for the two of them but looked like something to feed 6-8. When the window in the balcony opened up revealing Ravager I. A white haired girl looking very relaxed with them being there. Follow by a woman in here mis 40s smoking a cigarette and two boy she recognized as the part time hero Jericho and Ravager I, all staring at her and just her as if he wasn't using the kitchen and doing small talk with them. Until the main door open revealing Slade Wilson without armor and just dressed like a total dad and a older man with British accent.

"What did you call us here for kid?" Slade said adding more tension. "Way to ask questions Slade always the most conversational" said Dick with a smirk. "What's going on Dickie, need some help?" Asked Grant Wilson.
"Yes and No" he replied. "Not the kind of help you think" he elaborated.
He gave Slade and the older women (no she knows her name is Adeline) a folder with adoption papers. And the older couple froze, a reaction that put the other kids and even the older man( he told her to call him Billy) to shock as never has both of them have had the same reaction for anything. Not even during pregnancies. "Richard are you serious?" Adeline asked quoted shocked still. While Slade was white as his hair. "Kid if this is a joke, it's not a funny one and you are deserving some bullet holes in you" Slade said growling. If asked Helena would say she is fearless but in this moment against so many people wanting them dead if he is joking, she probably would kiss Dick and then kill him. "Not a joke Slade , I just want to do better and be with people that appreciate me not just for me but for her to" Dick said pointing at Helena and she wanted to scold him for putting the attention back on here. "Can I change my age to keep being the oldest one?" Asked Grant trying not to collapse at being teased to dead by Rose and Joey. "NO" all the adults said. "Helena, this is Wintergreen but you can call him Billy, then we have Adeline and Slade my new parents and my siblings Grant , Joey and Rose." Dick said proudly presenting his new family. "Family this is Helena Bertinelli also known as the Huntress and my girlfriend that will kick my ass if I got back to swallowing my self in self pity." He said, " I will kick your ass as many times you need to get back on your feet Richard" she said winking at him. Earning the respect of his family because she is the first hero they know that has helped him in a moment as bad as now. "Good because we were heading to your apartment to check on you Richard, you finally found yourself a good woman" said Adeline.

With the bats avoiding him and him just living better with a loving family and a girlfriend that is willing to held Batman on gun point he started healing just having money problems as he didn't want to depend on his parents, Helena convinced him to go back to being a detective for BHP but before doing so he decided to go talk to the only family he had left in Gotham.

When he arrived to the manor he joined Alfred and Selina for tea, they have been worried without hearing from him in 4 months and him redirecting calls he got scolded.

"I got adopted and I live with my girlfriend Helena the Huntress "he blurted out.

Alfred and Selina didn't know how to respond until he showed them on the phone how Bruce convinced him to go to spyral, they were enraged and crying for him.
Selina knew she wanted a divorce right then and there while Alfred kept his promise to Thomas and Martha Wayne he gave his multi billion dollar state to Dick as he has setup his daughter Julia for life already and Dick is his grandson and the only person that will use that money for the greater good instead of just being a vigilante. That's when they started planning as Selina wanted a divorce Alfred was ready to give Dick all his belongings before the others do something to them and Dick startled them again.

"I want to marry Helena and I want you two in my wedding!" He said so confident in himself that they were speechless. With two request 1 for Selina to show the truth to the justice League 1 week before the weeding and for Alfred to tailor his mom's wedding dress to fit Helena and that you open the dams as they were moved because he didn't ask for revenge but to move on and a gesture like tailoring his mother's dress for how reserved he is about John and Mary Grayson they understood that Helena Bertinelli has the one for him.

"Okay so you guys are in love that's nice but you have of worried disappearing for over a month short pants!" Said Donna. That was still wrapping all the info she received. "But just him being a silly goose and jumping around with bad puns and smiling a lot changed you Huntress, so get real with us, his my little brother hurt or lie about your relationship with him and I'll maim you." Donna tried to hide the many emotions she was dealing with. "She is right Dick! I come back from the speedforce heard you died then came back but no Nightwing, I ran every corner of Bludhaven thinking you my have gone back now that is being rebuilt but no sign of a nest and just vague rumors of a vigilante trying to honor Nightwing, but no other info about it. Thenwesawwhatbrucedidandgotyourweddinginvitebut,IwasntsureyouweretheonewhosentitbecauseSlade-" Wally was cut off. "Breath Wallman you are speed-talking." Said Dick while grinning. "You have to understand the excitement and frustration Dickie, I am Superman and just learned how bad my nephew was treated, even with all my powers and what I thought was a good relationship with the Waynes but I guess it was only you, Now I can't imagine what you have been through but is also my fault, I pride myself on being your uncle but since your death Damian and Stephanie mentioned how was your time as Batman and some stories you told them about your early years as Nightwing. Could you please tell us at least once how was truly your life after being kicked by Bruce? I'll hurt to hear how much I left you alone but I need to know thinking back at it I gave you the name Nightwing at 15 but you where still a child and just let you run to Bludhaven and be a hero but you always say that you are fine but I need the truth this time Dickie." Clark let out what he's been holding for so many years. "We don't deserve the truth Dick, but this will be our punishment for being blind to it. We are investigative reporters yet we let him hurt you so much, I let you leave this city after you got the name from Clark and thinking back at it if Jon was in the same situation I am sure you would take him in as yours and protect him being a Kryptonian or not" said Lois with a look of shame and sadness mix with guilt and anger at herself, Bruce and the world for treating her nephew so bad when the only thing he cares is for doing good. "Hey, Richard, me too, I'm gettin' curious, ya know? I was up in your grill, saw a sliver of what you got goin' on, but even then, I could tell ya locked down a whole lotta stuff. I'm tellin' ya, I only saw a freakin' taste, but I knew right then, you ain't just some pretty boy gettin' everything handed to ya and then playin' hero. Nah, you're somethin' else." Helena said. "Fine, all five of you know I was kicked out by Bruce and ran here got the name, when to 'haven and fully became Nightwing..." He said trying his best not to say 'I was fine'. "When I got to 'haven I only had my bike that could only use at night because it still was the R-cycle, I lived 4 months in a fire escape eating cereals and bottled water until I got a job as a part time gymnastics teacher for kids and found a rundown apartment that also became another part time job being a handyman for other tenants. Found myself a sketchy retired doctor in town 'cause I had no Alfred or Leslie in case of mayor injuries, survived like that for 2 years until I got into the police academy and after Jason died and Tim came knocking on my door I was in a bad place but recovering in my own. Way the got dragged back to Bruce's life and honestly I think he just keeps adopting to keep bringing me back until I died and now am just a broken toy............... Blockbuster was a Villain I let die 'cause he was ruining my life, he knew who I was behind the mask and destroyed everything I cared for........... That's what I'm willing to say for now, you may think you don't deserve it but at the very least I want to share it with my future wife." Dick said his truth from sadness to anger to shame to proudness, yes he was proud now as he saw their horrified faces as they all are trying to imagine how hard it was but he was here with his head held high, but his mind going back to his fight with Bruce (AM ALIVE BRUCE!). Everyone was silent, Dick told them some of the truth and now they didn't know how to process it, until Helena changed the topic. "We were on a mission, way out in the desert, like, way out there..." she starts, rolling her eyes a little. "Two hundred miles from civilization, just me, Richard,and this other dude. Ten freakin' days... By day four, forget about it, my legs were done. I couldn't walk another inch. And they just kept going! But Richard, he looks me right in the eye, and he goes, 'I'm comin' back for ya, alright?' One hour goes by, and I'm practically losing my mind, ya know? My head's telling me, 'He ain't comin' back, you got played!' But my heart? My heart knew he meant it. "Now, hearing all the garbage he went through as a kid... no wonder, after getting to know him, I know every single thing he says he's gonna do, he's gonna do. It's like, it's already a done deal, it just has to play out. That mission, that's when I realized, I couldn't live without him, Richard. Thank you, seriously, for trusting me with all that. That weight you've been carrying? Nobody should have to carry that alone." Helena was touched by what he said as she herself has trust issues aggravated for being a vigilante in Gotham.

"Helena, I see you are serious about your relationship with Dickie but in your eyes, I can see you want to say something else, we are ready for it whatever it is." Said Lois firmly snapping everyone else's out of the sweet and sour mood that was going on.

Helena stood up in front of Clark,with a glare that could rival the Bat-Glare(TM) and said. "I want your blessing to adopt the name Flamebird."

Wally and Donna where confused until they remembered the story Dick gave them as to how come he chose the name Nightwing.

"I will be his wife in a couple of days and would like to honor the name of the goddess lover of Nightwing.." she continued. "With my attitude and past many have said I destroy all the good in my live but finally found someone that thinks I destroy the bad to let the good grow."

"As long as you protect him and love him, I would be honored to have you as my niece-in-law and giving a good reputation to a goddess of krypton as you see, my cousin Kara she is from the city Argo where they only believed in The great God Rao but am from kryptonopolis and we believed in more of the old folklore. Yes and please keep protecting him as I have failed him much." Surprising everyone Clark knelt in front of the soon to be married couple.

"Thank you Clark it means a lot to us being able to complete their names" said Helena.

"Ok, but ...... You guys are getting married and plus don't tell me you went dress shopping with his mom and little sister only" Donna chimed in.

"No, he gave me his mom's wedding dress and I got it tailored to my fitting" replied Helena with a warm

Mirroring Alfred and Selina's reaction the waterworks began. Donna was stunned as she herself has jewelry that belonged to Mary Grayson because she is his one and only wonder twin not even Wally has been given something from his parents the only other person was Damian with Mary's sketchbook because he was like Dick's son but now looking at Helena she is wearing the same ring she have seen in pictures while Mary Grayson was wearing it. In that moment the other four just looked at the young couple and realized how real the wedding is as Dick has been engaged two times before but never with this much going on.

While emotions where high Dick though about what has been said and only one thing didn't make sense. A vigilante in 'haven. He hasn't been back in-between getting adopted and wedding preparations plus his new business, it didn't make sense.

"Wally what do you mean by rumors of a vigilante honoring me? We haven't been to 'haven do to everything that has changed, the adoption, wedding planing and now am a billionaire so I set up Grayson Tech" said Dick weary of the rumors from his city.

"Well when I went over there were rumors of you leaving your son behind, people called him kidwing but most said he is real, but in the vigilante life everything could be real." Wally said starting to process the implications of what he just said.

Dick and Helena stared at each other. They needed answers if it was really a kid and only one person they could think about that was in touch with 'haven this days.
Dick pulled his phone and called real quick.
"DAD!" Dick said.
"Hello to you too kiddo, what's going on? Did your talk with your uncle went bad?" -S
"No it went great but, I need some info in a rumor about a kid-nightwing in 'haven"-S
"Oh, you finally learned about the boy....."-S
"You knew?" Dick asked a little panicked.
"Of course you knew, is he crazy?gonna get himself killed? Why didn't you told me sooner?" Dick was panicking thinking about a Robin like kid but no gear or training or help.
"Relax kiddo, the baby boy is more competent than he seems I was thinking about taking him in but I can feel now that you and Helena are gonna love him when you meet him, he's a pain in the ass just like you and little shit like her if he was younger I wouldn't that he was your kid for real"-S
"When did he start? How do yo know him? Is he trained?"-S
"4 years ago after the Bludhaven got nuked, ran into him trying to scared him off and stop using a hoodie with Nightwing logo, I try to train him a little when am in Bludhaven,even gave him a pair of wakizashis and trained him to used them on killing" Slade was talking non chalantly.

"YOU WHAT?" All six of the shouted at Slade.
