You were the one

Summary:

You had always been by my side and told me that "You were the one... My soulmate.", but I didn't believe you.

Then unfortunately... We had no choice but to end up here... I had to kill you to save the world and those we loved... But no one could save me... Because it wasn't just our souls that were linked, but also our lives...

We never had time to love each other and when we said it it was already too late... But I loved you as much as you loved me...

My one and only love, my soul mate...

Love is often something we define as magical and unforgettable.
But we often don't understand why we say that about love.

Here, love is especially unforgettable.
It is an unspoken and yet so powerful love that binds two people from the first sight until their death.

"Zhao YuanZhou release me !" Wen Xiao said as tears already ran down her cheeks knowing that his friend was heading towards his own death.

"YuanZhou !" She said one last time as he disappeared into the corridors to joined the one he loved and who would have to kill him to save the whole world.

As he walked Yuanzhou couldn't help but slap himself, because he felt he had no right to be sad because evrythinf was his fault and no one else's.

YuanZhou then arrived in front of the one he loved and smiled seeing him standing there with tears already streaming down his cheeks even though he hadn't said anything yet.
Then he saw Bai Jiu's body in Yichen's bed, lifeless and he had to hold back tears, and he spoke doing everything to hurt the one he love so that he would kill him more easily and only hate him until the end.

"Why are you crying Xiao Daren? All this has always been planned... We have fought against the inevitable for long enough. We can no longer turn back and even less continue to live like this... Because the fact that I am still alive brings death to many people... And if someone has to kill me, I want it to be you and only you Xiao Daren. Because you are the only one to whom I dare to give my life." YuanZhou had said while unspoken words were there, inside him...

And these unsaid things were for the person he loved in front of him and who, without YuanZhou knowing it, loved him too...

"Why ? There... There must be a way... There must be a way to save you YuanZhou..." Yichen told him as he got closer to him but YuanZhou backed away before lightly laughing as tears also rolled down his slightly rosy cheeks.

"There isn't one, Xiao Daren. I've looked for solutions without ever finding any. We have no choice but to do this. It was inevitable... I didn't want these goodbyes either, but life never goes the way we hope... I beg you, Xiao Daren... Don't cry anymore..." YuanZhou said as he stopped himself from walking towards the one he loved to take him in his arms and wipe away his tears before kissing him.

But he refused to do this, because he refused to taste happiness before he died. He loved Xiao Daren with all his heart and had often told him that for him they were soul mates, but when he heard his words Xiao Daren always ran away saying that he was only talking nonsense...

“I’ve already lost so much… I can’t lose you too and I refuse to lose you !” Yichen said as he stepped closer to YuanZhou as YuanZhou stepped back.

“Don’t come any closer Yichen ! I refuse to hurt you and I’m afraid I won’t be able to control myself !” YuanZhou said as Yichen finally stopped.

“YuanZhou… Let’s find a solution, please…” Yichen said once again as he held his sword tightly in his hand.

"We can't do it anymore Yichen... I've already caused too many deaths... I can't take it anymore... Do this for me..." YuanZhou said as Yichen finally pointed his sword at him, crying as his hands shook.

And as YuanZhou began to think that the end was approaching, Yichen cried even more.

"I can't... I can't kill you.." He said and YuanZhou smiled, because he was sure now, the one he loved loved him back.

YuanZhou gently raised his hand before placing it on the Yunguang Sword before smiling. He pulled the sword and two screams were heard at the same time when the sword pierced him right through the heart.

“YuanZhou !” Yichen and Wen Xiao shouted at the same time as Wen Xiao caught his body before it hit the ground.

As Yichen looked at his hands before letting go of the sword and stepping back before tripping.

"I'm sorry Yichen... I never said it and now it's too late... But... But I can't keep this to myself anymore... I love you Xiao Daren..." YuanZhou said as Yichen's eyes immediately filled with tears.

Hearing his words, Yichen cried even more as suddenly he and Yuanzhou started coughing up blood and seeing this, Wen Xiao didn't know what to do.

“Yichen !” She cried as she saw her tender nephew coughing up even more blood.

YuanZhou tried to move but couldn't and Yichen smiled as he finally stopped coughing up blood but there was still some left on his lips.

"I knew it... I knew what it would do... Every time you ended up hurt... I ended up hurt too and had to find a reason for my sudden injuries... When you said you were my soulmate I never said anything and I left... Not because I didn't believe it... But because I knew it was the truth... I regret YuanZhou so much... I regret never telling you how I felt about you... Me too... I loved you too..." Yichen said as he reached out his hand to try and touch YuanZhou as their breathing grew more and more irregular.

Wen Xiao moved slightly before gently pulling Yichen towards her and YuanZhou.
Yichen quickly finished against YuanZhou who spat blood again as Yichen coughed and was now lying on YuanZhou's chest.

"Yichen... Look at me... Look... at me." YuanZhou managed to say and Yichen raised his head before smiling and YuanZhou tried to move his arm but couldn't.

Wen Xiao then gently took his hand before placing it on Yichen and YuanZhou hugged Yichen with difficulty as the tears became more and more numerous on the cheeks of the three of them.

“Hold on... I... I'm sure I can save you using my power... I can...” She said while crying as Yichen softly chuckled before shaking his head.

“It’s too late… I can feel it…” Yichen said as he gently raised his hand with the little strength he had left and placed it on YuanZhou’s cheek with a smile.

"I'm sorry... Sorry for wasting our time... We could have loved each other freely... At least for a short while..." He added as their breathing became more and more shallow.

"I love you Yichen..." YuanZhou said and Yichen smiled at him before gently resting his head on his chest and hearing YuanZhou's heartbeat slow down at the same time as his own heart.

"Me too... I love you too... My love... My soul mate... My everything... " Yichen finally said and then everything went silent and Wen Xiao opened his eyes again before seeing that neither of them seemed to be moving anymore.

“Yichen… YuanZhou…” She said before gently shaking them.

Then YuanZhou's arm slipped from Yichen's back before falling to the ground and the tears on Wen Xiao's cheeks became much more numerous.

"No !" She cried as she began to realize that she had lost two more people that day.

Then both of their bodies turned into golden, shiny dust before flying away into the air together...

And yet the explanation was simple... Their body had always been one... So inevitably if one disappears the other follows... Because without the other they could not exist.

When Wen Xiao saw all this helplessly, she realized that those she loved had suffered all this time in silence without her knowing anything about it...
She was lost and felt empty and like she had abandoned those she had loved more than anything long before they died.

"I didn't even see the distress of both of them... When Yichen told me that he had just hurt himself while fighting, I believed him and I also believed him when he told me that he was staying by YuanZhou's side just because he was forced to... And yet... Yet their looks said a lot about their feelings..." She ended up saying while crying and watching everything that remained of those she loved fly away into the air as well as Yichen's weapon remained on the ground as well as traces of tears on the ground.

After that day a legend was born. And this legend said that if you look at the starry sky at night, you could see two stars moving together and that these two stars were Yichen and YuanZhou not letting go of each other anymore...

But the truth was quite different. Because 500 years later two little babies were born and the two were called by their names Zhao YuanZhou and Zhuo Yichen. And from the first glance when he was still a child, everyone knew that they would never let go of each other's hands again.

This is how many tried to comfort themselves. But even this story was only a legend... Because never again did we find or feel the presence of either one. And the sky since their death seemed much darker as if it blamed itself for having led them to their death.

Forcing each other to kill each other was their destiny according to people, and yet they were doomed to love each other until death.
