Chapter Text
Ruby was the one of the most enchanting Goddesses of Olympus. Her face was ethereal, eyes glowing just like the brightest and deepest ocean, lips pink and plump as a juicy and scarlet cherry, her skin was smooth like the most delicate and expensive petal of lily you could ever touch and her long golden hair shone like sunlight on honey. That was the grace she received from being her father’s favourite child. Until that very moment.
For Ruby, living in Olympus with her father, Zeus, was very pleasant besides the amount of rules he would put her into. Being born as a child of Zeus, King of the Gods, and Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Fertility, put Ruby through a very sad and lonely life, since her father would lock her into a very tiny castle, hidden from the world and other gods to protect her from the evil and the wicked ones. Tired of the solitude of that almost empty castle, Ruby would confess herself to her only friend, the housekeeper who Zeus has chosen to take care of her. The old lady would, with her silver hair and rosy cheeks, be up and down during the whole day to make sure Ruby’s being taken care of.
“Ruby, Darling, you better eat some food or you’re going to faint.” Ms. Lysia, the housekeeper, whispered to the, now, pale girl seated in front of her.
It was lunch time, both of them were sitting at the luxurious dining table, which was surrounded by tall white walls with Golden details carved all over it and a freshly cleaned Crystal chandelier over their heads. Over the table, there were a few options to eat, some of them were Ruby’s favourite: ambrossia, red wine and a tall crystal glass of néctar. She would simply attack her plate, if it weren't for the anxiety burning in her stomach.
“Does it even make a difference?” The blond-haired one sighed, rejecting the full plate in front of her. “My father is going to kill me Tonight, why should I eat for?”
“Don’t be silly, little one!” Ms Lysia would speak with a playful tone. “Zeus would never hurt you. You’re his favourite daughter!”
“Was.” Ruby corrects. “If it weren't for his stupid little rules, none of this would be happening.”
The reason for Ruby's bitterness was the worry of the meeting she would have with her father that very night. Zeus’s rules were very clear: Do not go seeking into woods by yourself, Do not mess around the old library, and Do not talk to Witchers. Ruby broke two of these rules.
As if escaping from the castle alone, at night to seek into the woods weren’t enough, she went to look after a very known Witcher. Ruby was curious about her future, about how she would end her life, if loneliness and sadness would be her only companion during her poor life.
“Am I ever going to be happy?” The girl asks, looking curiously and walking cautiously through the Witch’s cottage.
“For sure, my love.” The old lady answers. “You’re going to be so happy. Far Away from here.”
Ruby felt her belly completely empty, just as all of her organs were gone. What does she mean? Ruby never left Olympus.
“Far? How Much far?” Ruby asks again. The old lady, who was seated in a chair in front of the goddess, started to stare into a fixed spot on the wall.
“Very far. A place you’ve never been to. You may meet new people. Good and bad people. And your fate must be tested during this Journey.” The Witch stops and blinks her eyes twice before looking into Ruby’s eyes. “You shall stand with your heart, it’ll save you from death.”
The goddess eyes were now huge, her heart skipping beats. Was she cursed? What does she mean “save her from death”?
Scared and now panicking, Ruby left the little cottage and lost herself into the forest, running and thinking about what fate has to do with her.
After this very night, Ruby was officially grounded and prohibited to leave the castle. Zeus made sure all the guards of Olympus would be around the castle and around the forest as a guarantee that his daughter would not go out again. Not being enough, Ruby would be judged by her father in a few hours.
“Zeus wants the best for you, Ruby” Miss Lysia would try to convince her.
“He sees me as a trophy, not as his daughter.” She spats.
Before Ms. Lysia could even speak, one of the guards who worked for Zeus in order to keep the perimeter of the castle safe, entered the room.
“Zeus asks his daughter, Ruby, to meet him.”
Ruby felt that adrenaline running through her veins, the anxiety of not knowing what was about to happen to her. She gulped before standing up, following the guard to her fathers reign.
Not a single word was spoken the whole way down the Olympus. As soon as They arrived, Ruby was escorted to meet the King of Gods. They climbed the colossal marble staircase in front of them, admiring the cotton candy blue sky which gracefully surrounded the castle. It’d be such a view if it weren't for the reason she was visiting the place.
As soon as They entered the King’s room, facing the ground, the girl knelt before her father.
“Here I am, Father.” Ruby murmurs, trying her best to not demonstrate how scared she was. In front of her, Zeus, sitting in a giant marble throne, with his hair falling over his shoulder and his scepter on his right hand.
“Ruby, my daughter.” Zeus' thunderous voice filled the whole room. “You may sit down now.”
He commanded; she walked over the seat in front of her father’s throne and fit herself in it. “Thank you, Father.” She replied, still avoiding looking into his eyes.
“You acknowledge the reason why I have brought you here, Ruby?” He asks.
She stalled before she could answer his question. “Yes, Father. I do.”
“Good. Even if I have failed with me, it’s good to know I have not failed with your education.” He spat. She didn’t react, she couldn’t. She didn’t have credits to do such a thing. “Why were you concerned about your future? Aren’t you satisfied with the life I gave you?”
“No Father, I’m not satisfied with this life. You locked me up in a Castle, the only person who talks to me is Ms. Lysia. Why do you do such a thing with me?” Ruby spoke, stooding up and facing Zeus, looking deep in his eyes. She was done with that situation. Who could possibly spend eternity living like this?
“Because I’m protecting you! Protecting you from people who want to take you Away from me, you're an ungrateful, foolish little one!” Zeus raises his voice, striking his scepter on the ground, making the entire floor tremble. Oh, Ruby was ruined now.
“Father, I may take care of myself.” She continues, walking on his throne’s Direction. “I’m not an animal to spend my whole life locked in.”
Zeus held a concerned and angry look into his face. His arm resting on his throne’s armrest, and hand holding up his chin, his index finger over his lips while he thought. Ruby was terrified inside, she had no idea of what her father could do to her, but knew about what he was capable of.
“Ruby, I’ll give you the freedom you want and deserve.” The King says. Ruby’s expression was confused at first and then became delighted, until her father proceeded to speak. “You’ll be banished from Olympus.”
The girl's eyes become wider and full of desperation. “W-what? No, Zeus, please!”
“I have made my decision. Since you are not satisfied with being under my guard, I do believe you shall go to the outside world and find yourself in life.” He continues.
“What? You can not do this to me, Father, I beg you, please!” Ruby was now crying, sobbing, completely desperate with the idea of being sent to another world. What could possibly happen to her? Which form would Zeus give to her?
“I can and I’m going to. I now curse you, Ruby. You are going to become a human and you’ll have to live on Earth, all by yourself. Forget you ever had a father, forget you ever been a goddess. Your fate is now out of my hands.”
And before she could say anything, Zeus stood up, grabbing her by her arm and dropping her by the border of his castle to the infinity. Ruby fell, screaming, crying and sobbing, watching her father leaving. This was the last thing she had seen before becoming unconscious.

Chapter Text
“Mark, I’ve fucking told you: this shit isn’t going to fit in the damn truck!” Josh speaks angrily, slamming his fist on the truck’s side.
“You haven’t even tried to fit it in, Josh. C’mon!” Mark says calmly, the opposite of his friend.
Josh let a loud sigh escape from his lips, before landing his hands on both sides of this waist while looking nowhere, trying to find some patience to deal with his best friend. Josh and Mark had a trip planned and they were going to a distant city to participate in a science congress. What Mark was trying to fit in the truck was a prototype of another wild science machine he’d built during one of those nights he kept awake.
Their bags were in the backseats of the dark blue truck, while they were struggling to fit the damn machine in the truck bed. After a few long minutes, they could finally pack everything up and leave Mark’s garage heading to New York.
Mark was driving and singing some random song which was playing on the radio, while Josh was almost sleeping, appreciating the view through the open window and feeling the wind messing up his dark curly hair.
“What’s the ETA?” Josh asked Mark while cracking a can of red bull. They made sure to have a whole stock of energetic drinks to make sure they’d make it to New York in time.
“5 hours.” Said Mark after rapidly switching his eyes from the road to the car’s panel. “If we keep this rhythm, maybe less.”
Not even thirty seconds after Mark spoke, a huge sound was heard, and he felt the car rough on the pavement ground. Their eyes were wild and hearts racing while Mark was parking the car on the roadside. “What the fuck was that, Mark?” Josh asked, trying not to panic.
“Flat tire. We need to fix it.” The blond guy answered, trying to calm himself while parking. The two guys left the car and went straight to the left side of the car with a flashlight in hands. It was around 6pm and the sun was almost completely gone.
“Dude, it exploded.” Josh said, lightning the low part of the car. “How the hell did it happened?”
“I have no fucking idea. Help me change it, we need to hurry up since I don’t have any signalization in the car.” Josh agreed, turning off the flashlight and heading to the back of the car.
Meanwhile Mark was struggling with changing the tire, Josh stood near him holding the light and making sure he was safe from another car coming. After the smell of burnt rubber disappeared, Josh started to smell something different but also familiar. As an Alpha, he knew that smell, but he couldn’t believe he was smelling it in the middle of nowhere. Mark was also an Alpha and there was no other car around.
“Done!” Mark grunted, dropping his tool on the floor making a loud sound. “Now we can get back on the track.”
“Mark, there’s something wrong.” Josh said. Mark’s happy semblance immediately turned into a worried look.
“What’s wrong, man?” His tone in between scared and weird.
“I’m smelling scent.” Josh says sniffing. “Omega scent.” He completes.
“Are you crazy? It’s just the two of us here. There aren’t even cars around.” The other Alpha said outraged.
“Dude, you can smell it too. It’s strong, try it.” Josh challenged Mark who inhaled deeply, trying to find the scent in the air. Surprisingly, he could notice the scent in the air.
“Damn, you’re right.” He said, rolling his eyes. He hated when Josh was right. “But we are alone, where is it coming from?”
Immediately, Josh looked backwards and faced the forest on the roadside. The sun was now completely gone and all they had was the moon and the car’s headlight enlightening a few meters ahead of the road.
“Are you really thinking about going in there? C’mon Josh, do you want to stop on the nightly news?” Mark said angrily, his hand on the car door handle. “It must be some young couple fucking around in the middle of the forest. Let’s fucking get away from here before we get robbed or something.”
Josh simply ignored Mark, keeping his eyes focused on the darkened forest ahead of him. “Mark, you can go away if you want. This smell isn’t common, I don’t smell any other Alpha than you here. If it’s an Omega, he’s alone. We need to help!”
Mark let out a sight in disbelief. He walked to Josh and held both of his shoulders before speaking. “Josh, have you ever watched an horror movie?” Josh nodded and Mark proceeded. “Good. Then you know when the victim is about to be attacked, it’s clear that he’s going to be attacked, but still, he proceeds into going farther into the haunted house and you think ‘fuck you man, you’re so stupid’?” The dark-haired one now rolled his eyes, already getting what Mark was trying to say. “That’s exactly what you’re doing Josh, are you fucking stupid?” He yelled.
“Get off of me, Mark.” Dun pulls his friend’s arms away from him. “You know what? If you want to, you can go. I’ll find out if there’s someone needing help out there. I’m an Alpha, and that’s my nature.” Josh growled at Mark, now, allowing his instincts to go over him.
“Okay, I got it. I give up.” The blond man says, stepping back. “You can do whatever you want. But, If I hear you screaming and dying, I’ll step on the gas and get the fuck out of here. My mom’s too young to lose her son.”
Again, Josh rolled his eyes and whispered a “Whatever, dude.” Before facing the Forest again, torch in hand, ready to find out where that weird smell was coming from.
It was dark and slippery, moss everywhere, on the ground, on the trees near him and vines all over the woods. Josh was blinded, following exclusively his instincts and, especially, his nose, feeling the smell getting stronger and stronger.
“Is someone here?” He said out loud, his voice echoing and matching the sound of the crickets. No answer, but he could hear a whine not so far from there. He decided to exhale some scent too, it might be useful to catch the Omega’s attention, if it was really an Omega that he was smelling. Also, I’d keep other Alphas away.
“Hello?” He said again. Another loud whine heard.
He kept following the smell and the direction of the whine he heard, some noises becoming louder, meaning he was close to solving the mystery.
“Is anybody here?” Josh yelled the last time. If he didn’t get any answers, he’d go back to their car. But he was surprised by hearing a weak squeaky voice.
“W-who are you?” A thin fragile voice spoke. Scared, Josh pointed his flashlight into the person, going straight into his face, blinding him out and forcing him to raise his hands to block the luminosity to keep his eyes open. “P-please, don’t hurt me.” He cried out.
Joshua was surprised but relieved that the person meant no harm to him. The scent was strong, and he was confused at this point. It was a man, so why was he smelling like an Omega?
“Hi, I’m not going to hurt you. Are you okay?” Josh asked gently, reaching out to hold the guy’s hand. “What are you doing here?”
“I-I don’t know, really. Where am I?” He looked confused. He was wearing a long white tank top which was covering the middle of his tights. His hair was a mess, and he looked tired.
“Hey bud, take a deep breath. Let me get you out of here.” The curly-haired boy positioned his hand in the back of the other’s body and guided him out of the woods. Soon enough, he could see the road and his friend standing up there talking on the phone.
“For god’s sake, he’s here. Gotta go, bye!” He says before hanging up and keeping his cellphone in his pocket. “Josh! Where were you? Are you alright?” Mark ran over Josh worried. Then, he noticed the other man next to him. “Who’s this?”
“I’m fine and this is…” At this moment, Josh noticed he hadn’t asked the man’s name. “What’s your name?”
“You can call me Tyler, I guess.” He said, his voice was weak, almost like a breath.
“I found Tyler on the woods. I think he’s lost, let’s get away from here and find a safe place for him.” Dun said, guiding Tyler to their car. He was trying to think of how he’d fit him in the back seat with all those bags, but he’ll figure it out.
“Are you really going to put a stranger you found in the woods in our car? Man, you really need to watch the news, you know?” Josh didn’t answer, he simply looked at Mark and almost growled.
“Mark, just get in the fucking car and drive.” He said firmly. Mark obeyed since he hated Josh when he gets nervous.
After making sure Tyler was safe inside of the truck, Josh occupied the passenger’s seat and Mark started to drive again. Maybe they’ll need to change their travel’s destiny.
Chapter Text
Josh asked Mark to head to the nearest commercial center he could find. Sleeping in a hotel wasn’t on their plans that night, but meeting Tyler made them change their path.
Mark parked the truck in front of a clothes store. Josh wanted to buy new clothes for Tyler, since the clothes he was wearing didn’t match the cold weather of the Fall season.
“Tyler, you can come with me. We’re going to buy you some clothes.” Josh said while unbuckling his seatbelt. “Mark, are you coming with us?”
“Nah, I’m going to stay and readjust our route. Remember that, if we want to be in New York in time for the congress, we’ll have to leave early in the morning.” He said while using the touchscreen panel on the car.
“We won’t take too long. Meanwhile, try to find a nearby hotel so we can spend the night.” Mark agreed to Josh’s request and the other two men get out of the car, walking to the store entrance.
As they walked in, Tyler felt his whole body shiver from the cold air coming from the ventilation system. He cursed and asked himself how people could live at such a low temperature, especially considering it wasn’t even a hot day. Tyler shrugged and circled his body with both his arms, trying to warm himself.
Josh noticed that Tyler was bothered by the cold air, he couldn’t blame him. The clothes he was wearing were totally inappropriate for low temperatures, Josh couldn’t even imagine how he could have stayed in the forest with such an outfit. He offered him his coat, Tyler seemed very mistrustful at first, but his instinct spoke louder, and he accepted it, wearing it immediately and purring right away.
“So, let’s get you dressed.” Josh spoke, walking through the corridors, Tyler right behind him. “We’ll need something warm so you can spend the night comfortably and also something casual so you can wear during the rest of the trip.”
Tyler was curiously looking at the clothes, running his finger through the fabrics and sometimes, picking up one or two hangers with clothes to look. Josh was intrigued by the guy in front of him, also curious about why he ended up in this situation. He was aware that it is not safe to go around and rescue random people, but when he saw Tyler, he just knew he offered no threat and meant no harm. He couldn’t just abandon him there.
“Did you like anything?” Josh asked. It was another try to make Tyler speak. “You can pick up whatever you like, it’s okay.” He said again.
Tyler’s cheeks were blushing, and Josh wasn’t sure if it was because he was shy or because of any kind of fever. They were going to take him to the hospital as soon as they arrive at New York, so they can make sure if he’s a real Omega – what would be a literal miracle – and if he’s in perfect health.
“Can I… take this one?” Tyler asked softly, his voice so low that Josh almost couldn’t hear it. He was holding a black hoodie with some pink details on it. Josh thought it was cute and just chuckled, nodding his head.
“Of course you can. What else do you need? You can walk around if you want.” The black-haired said.
Tyler, still mistrusted, only gave him a quick sideway glance before nodding and turning around, starting to walk through the store. Josh could smell Tyler scenting; it was a mixture of tons, and he was trying to find out what was happening with the hazel-eyed boy. They spent around twenty minutes shopping, Josh paid for everything, and they walked out and went back to the car. After another stop for buying food, they headed to a hotel to finally sleep a little.
“Mark, do you mind sharing a bedroom?” Josh asked while walking inside of the building.
“Actually, I do, man. Why would I share a bedroom with you anyways?” Mark answered, raising an eyebrow to Josh. “You snore a lot and I have a light sleep, we both know it won’t work out.”
“I don’t snore a lot, fuck you.” Josh said pretending to be offended but chuckled right after. “I was asking so we don’t spend so much money, we can take only two bedrooms, and we share one. And if I snore, which I doubt it’ll happen, I’ll drive tomorrow.”
Mark seemed to think about it but then he agreed with Josh. I mean, they would have money to book three hotel bedrooms but considering the few hours of sleep they would have, it just didn’t seem to be worth it.
Tyler was sitting in an armchair in the hotel’s reception room, while Josh was taking care of the whole booking stuff and Mark was grabbing his handbags in the truck. His curious eyes traveled to the whole room, as he was trying to find anything familiar to be comforted somehow. Still, Tyler was feeling weird but not only because of his travel to Earth, his body felt weird. Maybe because he was a man now. Is this how men feel?
He was taken out of his own thought by Josh calling him out to go to his room. Tyler walked to the man who rescued him and took the key in his hand.
“Me and Mark are going to share the bedroom right next to yours. You can call any of us if you need anything, ok?” Josh said to Tyler while they were walking to the elevator. Tyler nodded and entered the elevator after Josh.
The three men went upstairs and to their respective bedrooms. Mark and Josh were in room 182, while Tyler was in room 183.
Now alone, Tyler could finally sit down and cry. It has been less than a day since he’s on Earth, but it was enough for him to miss his house, his life and his friends. He didn’t have so many friends in Olympus, since his father wouldn’t allow her, him now, to go out. All his friendship was based on people who worked on the castle, Ms. Lysia was one of them. Tyler missed all and felt guilty by being disinherited by Zeus. Bu there’s nothing he could do about it.
He felt weird, something… burning up inside of him. Never felt like that before and he was scared. Scared of everything. He spent hours in the woods alone until someone could find him, he was so scared of Josh at first. Luckily, he didn’t mean any harm and helped Tyler and even offered him a place to sleep, safe and sound.
Tyler decided to take a shower so he could sleep a bit. Feeling pity for himself would be useless, so he decided on focusing on what he could do about, in his new form, on his new life. Standing up, he opened the thin plastic pack with a white towel which was over the bed before walking to the bathroom. When he entered, he was surprised. It was the first time he saw him in human form. With his mouth agape, he checked every inch of his face after checking his body. His traces were completely different from the one he, she, used to have. His skin was white but tanned at least. Straight fluffy hair, plump lips and deep brown eyes.
During his bath, he had to face another big change in his form. Tyler used to have all feminine organs, so he was completely shocked with having, now, male organs. He had no idea how to use it or how to clean it, but he had to figure it out.
Two knocks on the door were enough to make him flinch, still scared and totally on his guard. “It’s Josh.” He heard the voice behind the door.
Tyler rapidly wore his bathrobe before opening the door. It was, in fact, Josh, but now, in sweatpants and a white T-shirt. “Hey, just checking out. Are you okay?” Dun asked.
“I am good, thank you for asking.” Tyler replied with a soft smirk. He was so grateful for everything Josh did for him.
“That’s nice to hear.” Josh smiled genuinely. “You’re probably tired as hell but I’d like to talk to you before we go to sleep.”
“Oh. Yes, sure. Come in.” Tyler said, giving Josh the space to enter the room.
“So…” Josh took a seat on the floor, while Tyler seated on his bed. “Tyler, what happened to you? What were you doing in that forest all alone?” Josh asked, looking right into Tyler’s eyes. Immediately, he could smell Tyler’s scent changing, seemed he was worried or scared and Josh wanted to know why he was feeling this way.
Tyler gulped and felt another shiver on his spine. Could he tell the truth? Would Josh believe in or just take him as liar? He didn’t want to disappoint Josh after all he did for him.
“Ahn…” Tyler tried to formulate words into his mind, but he couldn’t think quietly. He was nervously playing with his finger. “I-I don’t know how to tell you this, Josh. But I promise I did no wrong and I’m not a threat or anything.” His words went from his soul straight to his lips. Tyler was facing the ground when he felt his eyes burning. He was about to cry again.
Josh felt his heart tightening seeing Tyler like this. He couldn’t explain, he just seemed to be so angelic and delicate. Of course, Tyler was a good person, he couldn’t ever hurt a fly if he wanted to. But Josh needed to know what he was up to, even because of Mark. He was not only risking his life, but his friend’s.
“I know you’re not a threat. Neither am I.” Josh said with a soft voice. “But I need we need to know more about each other to build trust.” Tyler agreed but he couldn’t really say anything else. He just cleaned the rebel tears which were running over his cheeks and kept sniffling. He felt so, so ashamed of being in this position, abandoned.
“I’m gonna tell you everything, but you’ll have to trust me.” Tyler spoke with a trembling voice, still not brave enough to look his savior in the eyes. Josh nodded quietly. “I’m not who you think I am. Like… I am…”. Tyler kept looking for words to try to explain the whole situation to Josh, but before he could even go further, he was cut out.
“I know, I can smell it.” Joshua said with an obvious tone of voice. Tyler didn’t really understand what he was saying, so he just gave him a confused look. “I mean, you smell like an Omega and this is not really common.”
Omega? Smell? What was Josh talking about? Tyler was definitely confused.
“Wait-what?” Tyler interrupted, still absorbing everything. “I’m a what?”
“An Omega, Tyler. Why are you so surprised about it?” Josh said after a small chuckle. “Mark and I are alphas, we smelt your scent. You smell exactly like an Omega, which is worrying me a bit since it’s not common a male Omega.”
Tyler, who was confused, now is also worried. Is he sick? Was he about to die? What in the hell did Zeus do to him?
“J-josh, what does that mean?” Tyler asked, feeling hot tears coming from his eyes. “Am I going to die?”
And then, Josh noticed he might have jumped the gun. “No, I mean, It’s okay, we’re going to see a doctor tomorrow, you’ll be fine.” He tried to calm the brown-haired one, approaching touching his exposed knee lightly. “You have nothing to worry about. Try to just rest a little, and we’ll talk tomorrow.”
Joshua stood up and he was about to leave the room, when he heard his name in a voice which sounded almost like a whine. “Josh?”
He immediately turned away to face Tyler again, his face showing his concern. “Yeah?” And before he could even notice, he felt tight arms wrapping around his body and Tyler’s face buried on his chest.
“Thank you for saving me.” His muffled voice made Josh’s heart melt.
He hugged Tyler back, whispering a “You’re welcome” before feeling his body cold as soon as the boy walks away from him. “Good night, Tyler. Anything you need, I’m in the very next room.”
Tyler nodded and whispered a lazy “Good night” before getting under the sheets. Josh turned the lights in his room down before leaving and let out a deep sigh as soon as he was on the outside.
Back in his own room, he met Mark already on his bed.
“How it was there?” Mark asked, not really taking his sight away from his cellphone screen.
Josh hesitated but answered right away. “Fine. He went to sleep.” He said, walking to the bathroom.
“Did he explained what happened to him?”
Josh knew Mark was worried about Tyler and what he could potentially do or be. He could be a killer, a psychopath or worse, and Mark was totally right about being worried, but Josh also didn’t want to push Tyler into things. He’d have to be patient and manage both sides.
“He’s been through a lot. I preferred to let him sleep tonight so we can talk properly tomorrow. But you don’t have to fear anything, I’ll take care of you.” Josh mocked Mark and received a middle finger as answer.
Soon enough, Josh was also under the sheets and ready to sleep. He deserved a good nap after such an adventurous evening.

Chapter Text
Tyler was feeling weird. Not only because his cheeks were burning like hell, but also because it had been a weird morning. To starters, he woke up in such a pain in his low abdomen, the thought he was about to die. When he got up, he noticed a different volume on his pants. What in the hell, he thought. Scared and with no clue about what was happening to him, he went straight to the shower hoping water would just send all his problems away. The shower helped a little, but he was still uncomfortable.
Now he was in the truck with Josh and Mark, and he was feeling heavy, cold and his entire body was sore. Even though he was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants, he still felt his body shivering from his bones. Seated quietly on his seat in the car, thought that looking through his window and admiring the view would make the time pass by.
They were finally in New York, and Tyler was amazed by the giant and metallic buildings surrounding them. It kind of reminded him of home. Of course, Olympus architecture was much more breathtaking, if he could describe it that way, but being around to something similar was, somehow, overwhelming to him. The view was, somehow, distracting him, until he felt his entire body shivering again in a header wave, he cried out and shrunk himself on his hoodie.
“Tyler, are you okay?” Josh, who was in the driver’s seat, asked Tyler while looking at him through the rear-view mirror.
“N-no.” Tyler said in a low voice. “I’m cold. My whole body’s shivering.”
Josh immediately worried about Tyler. He’s been smelling like an Omega since yesterday, but today it seems to be worse. Nervous, he stepped on the gas to get to the clinic as soon as possible. “Hold on tight, Tyler. We’re almost there.” He tried to hide his worriedness, but his eyes couldn’t lie. “Mark, please, adjust our route so we can escape from the traffic.”
“Leave it on to me.” Mark confirmed, taking using the car’s touchscreen panel. “We have a hospital nearby-“ The blond-haired guy was speaking but he was interrupted by Josh.
“No, we need to go to my friend’s clinic. She’ll be able to take care of him.” Josh said, holding tight on the steering wheel, giving a dead look to the driver next to their truck, who almost crashed his car against Josh’s truck. Mark just agreed, not changing their destination.
Thankfully, a faster route was found and after thirty minutes and a few moments of Josh threatening other drivers, they arrived at the clinic. Tyler was still feeling cold, now, but now, he was also feeling a bit of pain in his lower back and his mouth was salivating more than usual. Was he about to die? He thought to himself.
“Mark, you have a mission.” Josh started as he opened the car door. “You’re going to take the truck and find a hotel before going to the congress. You hear me? Get two rooms, just as we did last night. We share a room.” He handles Mark his credit card, some documents and the car key. “I’ll stay here with Tyler. Anything you need, just phone me.” Mark agreed with a nod.
Josh walked to Tyler’s side of the car to help him to walk out of it, and he panicked when he found him with his face burning hot and shivering as hell. Tyler seemed well yesterday, what happened?
“Come here, Tyler.” Josh extended his hand to Tyler, who grabbed it as his life depended on that. In fact, he felt as it did. Joshua helped him to go inside of the clinic, one hand holding his Tyler’s hand and the other holding his back.
“J-josh, it hurts.” Tyler whined, frustrated he couldn’t shrink even more into his own hoodie. “What’s wrong with me?” He looked at Josh with his big brown eyes, some tears wavering under them.
“You’ll be fine. You’re here to be taken care of.” Dun assured Tyler, trying his best to stay calm and not freak out. Luckily, as soon as they entered the clinic he saw his best friend, Jenna.
Jenna was one of the most respected and recognized doctors in the whole country. She was a specialist in Omegas, Alphas and Betas and was ahead of the research for better treatments for Omegas and their hormones. She surely would help Josh through all of this.
“Joshua, what a surprise to see you here!” Jenna says with a large smile on her face, coming to give Josh a tight hug. “Your dumbass, why did you take so long to visit me?”
“Work has been pushing me a lot.” Josh says, also with a huge smile on his face. “I wish I was here just to see you, but I do need your help today.” Jenna heard Josh and only then, she noticed he had a companion.
“Oh!” The blondie said, looking at the guy next to Josh. “How terribly rude of me! I apologize; I’m Jenna! Nice to meet you.” She extends her hand to Tyler, who grabs it cautiously.
“I-I’m Tyler. Hi…” Tyler replied in a thin fragile voice.
“Jenna, he’s not feeling good, and you were the first person I thought that could help him out.” Josh spoke in a rush.
“Of course. I’ll ask the nurses to take him right now.” She looks back and call two women who comes immediately after her. “Ladies, could you please get our patient a room? I’ll be there in a minute. Also, make sure to take his exams meanwhile.” Jenna orders firmly and the two women agree immediately. “Tyler, darling. Anything you need, you can ask them, ok? We’ll take good care of you. See you in a bit.” Jenna cherishes Tyler’s chin gracefully, feeling him purring slightly.
Tyler looks at Josh asking for confirmation, he’d only leave if Josh agreed to him do so, which he does. With a nod, Josh signalizes to Tyler that he must follow the nurses, and he does so. In no time, he was covered by a hospital linen pajama and receiving all the attention from the women around him. In the meantime, Josh was at Jenna’s office to start Tyler’s medical records.
“So, what’s happening to Tyler, Josh?” Jenna asked while sitting in the big leather chair.
Josh let out a loud sigh before starting to speak. “Well, he was doing fine by yesterday. I was going to bring him here anyways so you could check him out, but today, he woke up feeling too cold, he’s having a fever, and on our way here he started to complain about pain. He was having chills all the time, he cried out during the whole trip.” Dun explained, not sparing his worried expressions while remembering the whole scene.
“Alright.” Jenna spoke in a soft voice while typing on the laptop over the desk. “How old is he?”
Josh opened his mouth to respond but then he realized he didn’t know how old Tyler was. He looked like his age, but he couldn’t say it for sure.
“Uhm…” He muttered, blank expression while he thought about his answer. “Maybe 25.”
“Maybe?” Jenna snaps back, eyeing Josh through her long eyelashes. Josh nodded slowly, giving Jenna a clue of what could possibly be happening. “Right. Any other information I’m supposed to know?”
Josh thought for a second but then he remembered. “Damn, yes. When I first met him, I actually smelled him ‘cause he smells exactly like an Omega. Mark smelled it too.” He explained.
Jenna raised an eyebrow, getting more and more intrigued at each detail Josh gives to her. She was about to ask him, but before the words could even come out of her mouth, the door was suddenly opened by one of her nurses.
“Doctor, you might want to check this out.” The girl says. The blondie got up quickly and started to follow the nurse. Josh followed them as well.
When in Tyler’s room, Josh and Jenna found him alone, lying on the hospital bed with an IV access connected on his arm. Joshua smelt a strong scent in the air.
“We’ve checked his exams, and he doesn’t show any signal of infection, neither bacterial nor viral, so we don’t really have an explanation for the fever.” The nurse said, while handing Jenna the exams. “Plus, his ultrasounds exams don’t reveal any abnormality. Expect, from his scent gland.”
Jenna seemed intrigued while examining the exams, Josh, who was right next to her, was looking at the papers in Jenna’s hand as if he was understanding something.
“Have you measured his hormones?” Jenna asked, raising her head to face her employee.
“Yes, we did. But it’ll take a few hours until the exam is ready.” The nurse said.
“Ok, we’ll wait.” Jenna sighed, giving the exam papers back to the other woman. “Please, send me a copy of those to my office. Based on these exams, our suspicion might be right, so you can start the hormone treatment on him, please.”
The nurse nodded, and left the room, leaving Jenna, Josh and Tyler alone.
“W-what’s wrong with me?” Tyler asked, his voice was as thin as paper.
Josh wanted to answer, but he didn’t really know what to say. Instead, he looked at Jenna, who stepped up and went in Tyler’s direction. Josh kept still, next to the door.
“There’s nothing wrong with you, Tyler.” Jenna says with a calm voice, her specialty, according to Josh. “We’re just trying to figure out what are the right procedures to make you feel better. The hormones might help you for now.”
“How long am I going to stay here?” Tyler asked again. His big bright eyes, now, searching for Josh’s figure. “C-can Josh stay with me?”
Josh felt his heart melting at this exact moment. He didn’t know for sure how it happened, how he felt compassion for Tyler, even though they barely knew each other. Maybe, because of the way he had found Tyler last night, he seemed so defenseless, so scared, that Josh could not just ignore him, he had to do something. And here he is, taking care of Tyler as best as he can.
“You’re expected to get discharged tonight. And of course, Josh can stay with you.” Jenna replied with a gentle smile. “I’ll leave you two alone, but I’ll be right back with something for you to eat.” She caressed Tyler’s chin again before leaving.
Josh walks until the edge of the hospital bed and he carefully laid his hand over Tyler’s forehead, feeling his skin colder than earlier in the morning. Tyler purred instinctively. “At least you’re fever-free now” Josh said, now, laying his hand on his friend’s cheeks. “You’ll feel better soon. Jenna is one of the best doctors of the country, you’re in good hands.”
Tyler closed his eyes, enjoying receiving some touch. Why was he like this? He never felt like that. Needy. He almost cried out when Josh took his hand away from his face. “I want to go home…” He speaks.
“And where do you live?” Josh asked.
Tyler’s heart skipped a beat. How was he going to explain this to Josh? Will Josh believe him? How could he be so stupid to say something like that. Home? He didn’t have one. Not anymore at least.
“It’s complicated.” Tyler said, objectively, not wanting to go further into this subject. Josh was curious, but again, didn’t want to push Tyler into any kind of stress, he had already been through a lot. “Thank you for taking care of me, Josh.”
Josh smiled, sincerely. He was taken by surprise by his words, and he was glad he could help Tyler. “Don’t worry about it.”
“Are you going to stay with me?” Tyler spoke with a worried look on his face.
“Of course, I am. I just need to call Mark and tell him we’re staying here. Do you want me to ask him to bring something for you? Clothes, maybe food?”
Tyler pressed his lips while facing the wall in front of him, umming softly while he was thinking. When an idea popped up into his mind, he made an “aha” and looked at Josh.
“I want that thing we ate yesterday… how’s it called? Mojito?”
“A burrito?” Josh corrected with a large smile on his face. That was cute, he couldn’t lie. “Of course, I’ll ask him to bring one for you. Be right back.”
And then, Josh left the room to walk outside to phone Mark. The rest of the day was like this, Mark brought Tyler’s burrito, he was as happy as a kid with a new toy, he devoured the whole thing as if he was starving. Maybe he was, in fact, since he ate almost nothing for breakfast. Josh spent the whole day next to Tyler, sometimes he would go outside and get a coke, a coffee or something else to drink. When the night came, Jenna called Josh on her office again.
She also spent the whole day working. Her clinic was full, and Josh couldn’t be thankful enough to her for having time for him and Tyler in such a rush.
“Josh, guess we figured out Tyler’s condition.” She spoke while sitting down on her black leather chair. Josh tensed up, not sure if it was bad or good news. “It’s nothing serious. Rare, but not serious. Apparently, Tyler’s scents smell like an Omega because he’s an Omega. It’s a rare case, but we can easily manage this.”
Josh was genuinely shocked. He thought about this hypothesis, but it seemed so impossible to be true that he didn’t even consider a real diagnostic. His mouth was slightly open, he couldn’t say a word.
“He’ll be fine, I mean, there’s nothing wrong with him, except, by his exams, his glands seemed to be bigger than normal, and this condition indicates he’s having his first heat ever, which is also surprising.” Jenna concluded.
“What? He’s having his heat right now?” Dun’s eyes were wide and his voice a bit louder than he expected. “What am I supposed to—what do I do? Can’t you give him a birth control or whatever?”
Josh was freaking out since he was an Alpha who’s going to be next to an Omega which he couldn’t mate. Besides dangerous, it could be a real torture to both Mark, Josh and specially for Tyler. They would need to be extra careful not to match their cycles with Tyler and have their rut ahead of expected.
“Unfortunately, it’s too late to give him any birth control or even hormones.” The blondie explained, also with a worried expression. “It must take a few days until his heat ends, 7 days at least. After that, his cycles must be back to normal.” Joshua was still freaking out in front of her, his face resting on his hands. “You’ll be fine, Joshua. Just… Take care of him. You’re an alpha, you’ll need to be next to him, you don’t really need to mate with him.”
Josh was screwed. He knew how a heat worked and what was involved, and he have taken care of other Omegas before, but never a male omega. And never with a person he met two days ago and was in such a vulnerable situation. Mark was going to kill him, for sure.
“Fine. Okay. Let’s do it.” Josh said in a fake calm tone. “Any other recommendations? Will he need any medication?”
“You might want to give him some ibuprofen for cramps and it’s important to keep him fed, hydrated and protected. Don’t let him get away or he might get in trouble.” Jenna spoke while writing on a piece of paper. “Here’s the prescription and instructions. I’ll make sure to send you the exams on your e-mail.”
“Thanks a bunch, Jen. You may send the bill on my e-mail too.” Joshua said, taking the paper from Jenna’s hand.
“Please, Joshua, don’t worry about it. You’re my best friend; besides, you can pay me by telling me the whole story of how you met Tyler.” She winked at Josh, who chuckled. As he was walking out of Jenna’s office, he heard her yelling. “Be careful with Tyler. I liked him. If you hurt him, I’ll hurt you.”
I’ll do my best, he thought. In fact, he’d do his best to take care of Tyler but he can’t deny this whole thing was weird. Tyler’s an Omega, he was lost in the woods in the middle of nowhere, and this was his first heat ever? Suspicious.
He knew Tyler wouldn’t do nothing serious against Josh, and he could never do it, Josh and Mark are Alphas, I’d be impossible to Tyler to beat them two.
“Josh?” Dun heard a familiar voice and turned away. It was Tyler. He was standing up, now, without the IV access on his arm and properly dressed in the clothes Mark brought from the hotel. Josh smiled at him.
“Hi Ty. We’re leaving now.” Josh said softly. Even with his usual voice, the demand made Tyler whine softly while walking to Josh. “Are you feeling better?”
“Yeah. I’m tired. And hungry.” Tyler purred, resting his head on Josh’s shoulder. “Am I safe now?” His voice was low, tired and kind of hurt too. Tyler was sad. He was feeling a bit… humiliated. Depending on Josh for everything, he didn’t want to do it, but Josh was a good soul who rescued him, and Tyler would be forever grateful for this.
“As long as you stay next to me, you’ll be safe.” Josh spoke, looking Tyler in the eyes. “Let’s go to the hotel and take some rest. It was a long day.”
Little did Josh know that it would also be a long night.

Chapter Text
Their way to the hotel worked just fine, Tyler was feeling better but still suffering with pains and still a bit cold. Josh and Mark were just tired, for different reasons, obviously. Josh spent the whole day with Tyler at the hospital, only leaving to buy food or make some phone calls, Mark, on the other hand, spent his day at the science congress he and his friend were supposed to attend and the one they have a presentation tomorrow. Josh didn’t know if he would go nor how he would go, he hadn’t even rehearsed his speech, and he didn’t have time to rest properly from the trip.
Again, Josh found himself at a hotel reception, being responsible for their check in. Mark, who could finally rest and count on the bellhop’s work to carry their bags to their rooms, was next to Josh.
“Mark, we’ll have to change our plans.” Josh started, filling in the paper given by the receptionist with their information. “I’ll sleep with Tyler tonight.”
Mark frowned on his forehead, tilting his head slightly. He never saw Josh being so straight to the point like this. “Did I miss something?”
Josh chuckled and rolled his eyes, giving the attendant the paper, now filled and signed, turning to Mark. “Mark, Jenna found out that Tyler is, in fact an Omega.” He spoke calmly, his voice low since he didn’t want anyone to listen, not even Tyler, who was quietly sitting on a couch on the other side of the reception. “Not good enough, he’s also on his heat, and it’s his first heat ever, so I’m supposed to watch out for him during this period.”
“Dude, no shit.” The blond boy’s voice was higher than Josh expected. “That’s rare as fuck. You’re a really lucky guy into bringing problems to your life.”
“Thank you… I guess?” Josh scoffed. The receptionist hands Josh their room keys, which he grabs and gives one of them to his friend. “There’s your key, sir.” He says it in a playful tone.
“Thank you, sir. I’ll surely sleep well without you snoring into my ear.” Mark mocked back.
Josh rolled his eyes again, pushing Mark slightly. “Get the fuck out of here, dude. See you tomorrow.”
Mark laughed and went straight to the elevator, waving to Josh and Tyler before disappearing behind the thick metal door. Josh sighed, holding his backpack strap as if his life depended on that. It was a form of trying to control something when you clearly lose control over everything. He turned away and walked to Tyler, who was quiet, looking at the works of art frames spread on the walls. Tyler was definitely an observant person; he’d spend minutes examining things and Josh was amazed by that.
Josh didn’t really told Tyler about his diagnosis, neither about the fact they’re going to spend the night on the same room – on the same bed too, to be more exact. But he decided to pick a fight at a time. The first one was about to begin.
He sat next to Tyler, who smiled shyly when he saw Josh approaching. “I’m happy that you feel better. You scared me this morning.” Josh spoke calmly.
Tyler lowered his head, now, facing his own shoes and Josh’s too. “I’m sorry. Didn’t mean to.”
“It’s not your fault, though. It’s okay.” Josh settled his hand on Tyler’s back, caressing slightly. “Has Jenna told you about what happened to you?”
Tyler shook his head, now raising his head to face Josh. His expression changed from sad to worried.
“It’s nothing serious, you don’t have to worry about.” Dun spoke. “It’s just… rare. You’re an exception, Tyler. You’re a male Omega.” After Josh finished talking, he noticed Tyler’s face almost had an interrogation over it. He couldn’t hold a soft laugh, amazed by the man’s innocence. “In other words, you’re a boy with a girl’s hormone and cycles. So, every once three months, you’ll have something called heat, which is what you’re having now. And you’re going to have the exact same symptoms you had today morning.”
“I-I don’t want to feel what I felt today, ever again.” Tyler said, voice a bit shaky.
“You’ll be fine, Tyler. These symptoms hit you stronger today because it’s your first heat, at least it’s what your exams have shown. You’ll learn how to handle them.” Dun affirmed. “Since you’ve never been through this before, I thought that it’d be safer for you if I spend the night with you.” He sighed. “I didn’t really stop to think if you would feel comfortable with this idea, and I also don’t want to be invasive, so I’ll let you decide.”
Tyler didn’t want to be a burden to Josh. He has spent way too much time with him, and now spends the whole night too? He seemed a bit tired, bags under his eyes and unshaved beard revealed how little time Josh had for himself in these last 2 days. Anyways, he’d still take care of Tyler. He was an Alpha, that’s what he was supposed to do.
“Is it bad if I spend the night alone?” Tyler asks, naive.
“A bit. I’d feel less worried if I were you.” Josh chuckled. Tyler’s reaction was to sniff his clothes to try to identify which smell he was talking about. “Also, other heat symptoms may show up and would be dangerous for you to be alone since you still don’t know how to handle them.”
Tyler bites his lip apprehensively. He was already a bit scared since everything was new to him and at the same time he didn’t want to push Josh too much, he also didn’t want to stay up all night worried about these other symptoms. He didn’t seem to have a choice.
“Ok, so I guess it would be better if you spend the night with me, right?” He wasn’t sure if he was asking Josh or himself. Josh smiled, restrained but victorious.
“Excellent.” He said proudly.
And Tyler wasn’t so sure of how he was feeling. At the same time, he was, obviously, feeling grateful and protected by Josh, and also feeling like an outsider. Things were different, people were different, food, clothes, music, climate, everything. She was different. Mostly, he hasn’t been able to control himself, sometimes he simply acts instinctively, like he never did before, and when he notices, he feels so ashamed as If the world were upon his shoulders. Just like now, when Tyler found himself purring and resting his face on Josh’s chest while they were waiting for their food.
Josh took Tyler to Taco Bell since he’s been loving eating Mexican food, and the restaurant was right next to the hotel. Tyler couldn’t help; he felt a bit dizzy, almost drunk in a different smell – it wasn’t food, - and when he noticed, his face was comfortably nested on Josh. Once he realized what he was doing, he immediately recomposed himself, cheeks burning like fire.
“S-sorry.” Tyler said, embarrassed.
Josh wasn’t bothered at all. Either way, he chose to comfort Tyler. “That’s ok, there’s nothing to be sorry for.”
Tyler didn’t respond, just kept observing his surroundings. A few people were around at the restaurant, waiting for their takeout. Some families with their children, some teenagers just hanging around together and a drunk guy on the corner, who was making sure to piss of everyone around. The Omega was quietly observing when he clearly harassed the attendant who was walking by.
“Asshole.” Josh spit, turning around to look at the gross man. “Hate when people get out of their houses to be a pain in the ass.”
The gross man kept mumbling awful things while Josh and Tyler kept in line, waiting patiently. Everything was fine, until Tyler felt weird again, he felt something… dripping out of him. He panicked internally, not only for not being really into getting as bad as he felt earlier in that day but also because he was afraid that his clothes might be stained by whatever was going out of him.
Josh noticed Tyler’s sudden desperation and approached him before asking. “What’s wrong?” His soft voice echoed between them two.
“I-I need to go to the restroom. Now.” Tyler spoke in a rush.
“Oh.” The black-haired man seemed a bit surprised. “There’s a restroom right over there. Do you want me to go with you?”
Tyler looked around; he could see the spot Josh mentioned. He looked back at Josh, wondering if he needed any help or if he could handle it by himself. Tyler didn’t want to give his new friend any more worries or problems, so he decided that he would handle this by himself.
“I can do it.” Tyler said, confident. “Just wait for me here, okay?”
“I won’t move an inch.” Josh said back, a playful look in his eyes. “If you need help, you can call me, okay?”
Tyler felt comfortable enough to give Josh a small chuckle. He left Josh in line and walked straight to the restroom. He was a bit anxious; he wasn’t used to being alone on Earth and 99% of the little time he spent here was next do Josh. However, he knew his capacity to do a simple task such as going to the restroom alone. He kept this powerful thought until he heard a loud cheesy voice and strong smell of alcohol hitting his, now, sensible nose.
“What’s wrong, Kitten?” He heard a male voice being of him. “Is you the one who’s smelling like a fag?”
He didn’t really understand what was being said, but it didn’t sound like anything nice. Tyler turned to see where the voice was coming from, when he saw the same drunk gross man who was messing around just now. He was sitting slouchy on a table next to the restrooms. His table was a disgusting mess, beer cans and food all over it, his face was almost swollen because of the amount of alcohol he had drunk. The whole restaurant went silent, and Tyler could feel all eyes burning over his back.
“Hey! I’m talking to you, little fag.” The drunk man yell again, louder this time. Tyler froze up, he didn’t know what to do.
His primary thought was to turn back to face the man in question, but he didn’t have so much time to capture his face. As soon as he turned back, the only think he could see was Josh’s fist punching the man in the face. He immediately fell on the floor and a flood of blood was dripping out of his nose.
“Guess this will be enough to make you silent.” Josh spit while caressing his right hand, the one he used to hit violently the man’s jaw. Josh was mad, he saw red for a few seconds. Not only because the man was being an asshole, but because he was an asshole with Tyler. If Josh weren’t around, Tyler wouldn’t know how to defend himself. And the proof of this was how Tyler’s eyes became teary when the adrenaline went down. Josh noticed it, as expected, and he took his place as an Alpha to control the situation.
Josh traced his arms around Tyler who was starting to sob, tears running down his face. He wasn’t sure if he was crying because he was scared or because of the adrenaline, yet he couldn’t hold it.
“That’s alright Tyler, we’re leaving. Let’s take some rest and forget everything that just happened.” Joshua muttered softly. Tyler nodded, he just wanted to leave.
His heart was racing as if there was a whole horse competition inside of his chest. On their way to the hotel, Josh tried to distract him, and he succeeded in getting a few chuckles from Tyler. Josh also made sure to take their food orders before leaving, so they were equipped for the night. Food, water bottles, comfortable clothes and a huge bed that Tyler could enjoy. Dun knew that anytime soon Tyler would instinctively start to prepare his nest, and he made sure to also buy some extra pillows and blankets for him.
As soon as they arrived, Josh made Tyler take a shower so he could calm down and relax. Meanwhile, he’d do his best to create good logistics for their room. There was a couch across the bed, which would be Josh’s bed for this night, he’d leave the big bed for Tyler. He also placed some meds on the nightstand with a bottle of water for possible cramps or other kinds of pain Tyler may face. The last touch was the aromatic candles he also spread over the room.
Josh had been a heat partner a few times in his life, so he was aware of all of that. He wanted to make sure Tyler was safe and protected during his first heat before he could go deeper through his life and help him to be independent again.
“Josh!” Dun heard his name from across the room. He immediately walked by the door, not opening it but putting his ear on it to listen through it.
“I’m here. Need something?” He asked, wishing to be helpful.
“Uhm… Kinda of…?” Tyler said confused. On the other side of the door, he was trying to figure out what was that liquid leaking out of his ass. “There’s something happening and I don’t know what it is.”
“What is wrong? You can tell me.” Josh replied.
Tyler felt his cheeks burning. He was never so intimate with a man before, he always had female nannies, the only male presence she had in her house were the guards.
“I-I don’t know how to say it. There’s something…leaking out of me…” He starts, his face burning. “It’s a liquid, no color.”
“Oh.” Josh said behind the door. He understood the whole thing and had also brought some pads for this situation. “Well, why don’t you get out so we can talk better about it?”
Tyler frowned, circling his body with the fluffy towel. He wasn’t so comfortable with the idea of walking out half naked and smeared in that weird fluid. While getting ready after bath, he caught himself caressing his, now, non-existent long hair like she used to do. Sigh.
Josh, on the other side of the door, was trying to figure out how he was going to explain to Tyler that he was in a heat and his body as kinda preparing him to mate and be pregnant? It seems like a rude thing to tell someone. He was pacing in circles, thinking about how to explain human nature to his friend without traumatizing him for the rest of life. He’s a scientist, he was supposed to be good at it.
Suddenly, the bathroom door opened, and Josh’s heart almost jumped through his mouth. Tyler walked out of his, wrapped in a towel, his hair messed and wet and his skin looking as smooth as velvet. His big eyes being surrounded by long lashes, batting as he watched Joshua, who was more desperate than Tyler himself. Breath, Josh. He thought.
He had to put his shit together, so after a long sigh, Joshua took a seat on the couch and gave little taps on the empty seat next to him, calling Tyler to sit too. Tyler was reluctant at the beginning but seated next to Josh.
“So, as I said before, you’re a rare case, Tyler. You’re a male omega, and you have just started your first heat.” Dun spoke, voice even. He wasn’t looking the brown-haired man in the eye, he decided to focus his gaze on a random spot so he wouldn’t lose track. “It’s a cycle. It takes some 5 to 7 days, usually. And its function is to make you procreate.” Josh was surprised he could keep it simple.
Tyler seemed a bit amazed by the information he had just received, trying to process everything. “So, I-I can get pregnant?” He stutters.
“Well, yes.” Josh replied, one of his hands scratching the back of his own head. “But only if you mate an Alpha.”
“And what’s an alpha?” Tyler questioned again.
And this is how the first part of the night went, Tyler making questions and Josh struggling to answer all of them in a simple way. Some of the answers were enough to make Tyler realize what was really going on with him and some just made him more confused or angry, somehow. In any way, the hours they spent talking were enough to make help Tyler aware of how humans work.
Josh was still curious about Tyler’s story, where he was from, what happened to him but every time he thought about asking him about it, he got worried about being invasive or triggering him into bad memories. Now, it was sometime close to midnight and Tyler had already shown more heat symptoms, as expected, and, again, Josh decided to focus on taking care of the poor omega whining next to him.
The lights were low – Tyler preferred them in that way, his head was aching and Josh attended to his wish. Joshua was lying on the couch while Tyler was uneasy on the bed, rolling from one side to another, thin groans coming out of his mouth. Josh had already given him a few pills, for cramps and muscular pain, trying to ease him but it didn’t seem to have worked.
“How are you feeling?” Josh asked, worried.
“Bad.” Tyler answered, grumpy. “It’s so uncomfortable here. I can’t rest.”
Josh saw this one coming. Tyler were just like a kitten now, he felt his instincts knocking on the door but didn’t really know how to deal with them, so, someone must show him how to take care of himself and his needs. Omegas have the habit of nesting when they’re on heat, since they must create a safe space for it, they get really sensitive and cold, so lots of pillows and blanks were welcome, and Josh prepared himself for it.
He got up from the couch willingly, walked to hir bag and dropped on Tyler’s bed 3 blankets and a large quantity of fluffy pillows. Tyler stared at Josh standing up right next to the bed with a confused expression drawn on his face. Josh chuckled and took a seat on the edge of the bed, handing Tyler a pillow. “Bought those so you can nest. It should make you more comfortable and warmer.”
Josh had explained to Tyler about the whole nest thing, but Tyler had no idea how to build a nest. He got on his knees, took some pillows and placed them on bed but it didn’t look like a nest.
“Could you help me, Josh?” Tyler asked while facing his friend with big eyes.
Josh couldn’t say no. He got on his knees over the bed and helped Tyler to build his nest. Dun created a kind of fort made of blankets, while Tyler would place the pillows around the little fort. At the end, there was a nest and both men were proud of their work.
“There you go, Ty. It should be comfortable enough so you can take some rest now.” Josh said proudly, allowing himself to caress Tyler’s hair, who closed his eyes and purred with the soft touch.
“Thank you, Josh.” Tyler said to Josh, again, smelling that same smell which got him drunk at Taco Bell earlier. It’s just…so good. “Are you smelling this?”
“The only thing I smell it’s you, Tyler.” Josh said in an ironic tone. In fact, Tyler’s smell was strong enough to beat any Alpha around. Josh would have to be careful, so he doesn’t get into his rut out of season. “What’s that smell like?”
Tyler sniffed, trying to get enough details to describe it to Josh. “It’s… wooden? Kinda floral but also sweet. Has it’s slightly fresh too.” He detailed. Tyler kept sniffing, the smell getting stronger and stronger until he noticed he was practically buried into Josh’s neck.
Again, he backed up immediately and started to mumble a few ‘I’m sorry’s’ to Josh, who chuckled with his attitude.
“It’s alright, Tyler. Really. This is biological, you don’t really need to be sorry for. You’re needy and it’s okay, that’s why I’m here.” Josh spoke, voice soft. “Now, take some rest. Tomorrow you’re going to the congress with me, alright? Only if you feel ok.”
Tyler nodded and positioned himself on his new nest, laying on his side, letting a soft whine escape from his lips.
Josh was getting ready to leave the bed, when he felt a warm hand over his hand and followed by a soft voice.
“J-Josh, could you sleep with me?”

“J-Josh, could you sleep with me?” That’s the sentence which has been echoing on Josh’s mind. All night long, all he could think about was Tyler’s soft voice asking him to sleep next to him.
He did, in fact. He slept next to Tyler, who instantly snuggled himself on Josh’s body, purring and rubbing his head on the alpha’s chest as soon as the alpha laid on bed. Dun swore he’d be able to sleep, but he was again lying to himself. He was too amazed, kinda scared of what could happen; Tyler was scenting the whole room, and Josh was afraid that his rut might kick in all at once. If it happens, I’d be impossible to take care of Tyler. None of these worries prepared him from what would’ve happened in the morning.
Josh was taking a nap – he wouldn’t be able to dive into a deep sleep. – when he woke up with the whiny sounds of Tyler, who was licking his neck right on his scent gland. Josh’s fear became reality and Tyler’s heat symptoms became worse and Josh had to do something about it.
“Tyler?” Josh asked, his voice deeper than usual. “What are you doing?”
Tyler let out a small cry with the alpha’s voice, feeling his whole body trembling to it. “I-I don’t know.” He whimpered, still licking Josh’s salty skin. “It h-hurts, Josh…”
Josh sighed. He knew what he needed to do, even though he gelt guilty about it.
“I know, Tyler. I’m sorry for that.” Josh says in a soft voice, one of his hands caressing Tyler’s back. “I can help you out, I’m not sure if it’d be good for you.”
The omega’s whines become higher, him biting Josh’s neck almost hard enough to let bruises. “Tyler, c’me here.” Josh ordered; his Alpha voice being used this time. Tyler cried out a bit and obeyed Josh, seating over his heels on the bed, next to Josh’s laid body. “You can’t mark me, understand?”
Tyler nodded, his hand together resting over his thighs. “I’m sorry, Josh, I didn’t mean to—“.
“It’s alright, Ty. You’re not thinking clearly, are you?” Dun cooed, raising his hand to caress Tyler’s sweaty hair.
“N-no, I’m not.” He shakes his head kinda desperately, his cheeks burning in heat. “I need h-help, please.”
Josh had already given Tyler all the prescriptions Jenna has made: medicine for pain, water, food, comfortable environment and even perfumed candles. None of these seemed to work, at least, not for long a long time. Apparently, Dun would have to step over his conscience and assume his role as an alpha with Tyler in the name of keeping him safe and with no pain and to make sure he’d be able to attend the Congress later.
“I’ll help you Tyler, but you’ll have to trust me.” Josh said firmly. Tyler’s looked up to Josh, his pupils almost completely dilated. He nodded again, desperate. “Lay down, then.”
Again, the omega obeyed Josh. Shaking, he laid his back over the mattress while Josh sat over his heels. Tyler was confused yet curious, cautiously watching Josh’s hands wandering to his sweatpants, eyeing Tyler up before mumbling a “Can I?” which was totally consented by the brown-haired one.
Josh put Tyler’s pants down carefully, he knew how sensible he must’ve been. When the grey sweatpants were on the floor, Dun had the full view of Tyler’s, now, tight, wet boxers. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t feel hot immediately with that view, but his priority was the omega’s needs, not his own.
“Joshieee, please!” Tyler whined again, covering his eyes while stroking his hips on air. “J-just make it stop, please, it h-hurts so bad…”
“You’ll be fine, Ty. Just trust me, ‘kay?” Joshua spoke. “Can I get rid of these?” He asked, referring to Tyler’s underwear.
“Yeah, please.” The omega said, his voice cracked.
And so did Josh take Tyler’s boxers off, revealing his hard, aching, dripping cock. Tyler wasn’t sure what was happening, but he could feel his whole body burning as if there was fire running on his bloodstream. His eyes were covered with his hands while he chewed his bottom lip, all of this in an attempt to control himself.
“Tyler, listen.” Josh speaks up, still near to Tyler’s exposed body. “I’ll touch you to make you feel good, alright? You can and must tell me to stop anytime you feel uncomfortable, ‘kay?”
With a head nod, Tyler allows Josh to take care of his needy body. Josh sighs and lay his hand on Tyler’s cock resting over his own stomach. It was hard, the tip pink and swollen, dripping pre cum all over his stomach. The slight contact was enough to make Tyler arch his back with the oversensitiveness.
“J-Josh—ahh!” He mewled out loud.
“Did I hurt you? I can stop—”
“N-no, I-it’s-s g-good, pleaseee…” Tyler whimpered, taking Josh’s arm to make sure he wouldn’t take his hand away from him.
When Josh looked up, he could hear his own heart breaking into pieces. Tyler’s eyes were wild and teary – just like an abandoned dog wandering through the streets late at night. Pink wet lips pouting as if he was about to cry. God knew how needy Tyler was, how much hormones has been messing with his head and only Josh could help him now.
“It’s ok, kitten, I’m gonna take good care of you.” Josh lifted his hand to cup Tyler’s cheek, who purred.
Josh started to move his hand up and down on Tyler’s shaft, being careful not to overstimulate the omega’s senses. Tyler was a little mess – squirming, whimpering and moaning feeling the alpha’s warm hand playing with his body. A weird feeling was boiling on his abdomen, something that made him even more desperate for something he didn’t even know what it was.
Tyler’s legs were now spread over the mattress, Josh was between them. Under the omega, a puddle started to form by the amount of lubrification leaking out of him.
“Is it good?” Josh asks, his other hand now holding Tyler’s balls, sending pleasure right through his spine.
“Yesyesyesyes.” Tyler babbled. His senses weren’t really working.
Josh kept stroking his hand over Tyler’s aching cock, his ears being blessed by the soft and desperate at the same time. After a few more strokes, Tyler relaxed his own body with a loud moan, hot white stripes coming out of his aching cock.
“Joshie, please, w-what is going on?” Tyler asked shakingly, recovering from the orgasm he has just had.
Josh was also recovering from the heavenly vision he just had, his mouth agape and a few curls falling over his face. He shook his head, coming back to reality and noticed how sensible Tyler seemed to be.
“You had your first orgasm, Ty.” Dun coos, laying next to Tyler, who cuddled next to him instinctively. “It’s what happens when you have a peak of pleasure during sex.”
“Sex?” Tyler asked, his breath still out of rhythm.
Josh, who was holding Tyler together smiled, knowing he’d spent a few minutes responding to the omega’s questions again. He was really curious. Cute.
After solving all the questions Tyler had, Josh took him to the restroom to give him a bath. He showered right after.
Joshua made sure to get he and Tyler ready and fed so they could go to the congress. He missed a day yesterday, but he simply couldn’t miss today. He’d be part of a seminar where he’d present his new discovery after spending weeks buried in the lab with Mark. Not only a professional achievement but also a dream coming true. And if to make this dream come true, he’d have to take Tyler to the congress, he was up to that.
Tyler was still in heat, that was true. While Josh was dressing, he heard his roommate whimpering again because he was hard again. Josh managed to help him without getting messy. All he could think about was how Tyler would behave all day, at a congress, on a heat.
Suppressants weren’t an option, since his heat had already started, it wouldn’t work. Omegas weren’t supposed to get out of home during heat, but Josh had no option. He couldn’t leave Tyler alone in a hotel room.
Josh was taken out of his own thoughts when he heard a knock on the door. Tyler looked at Josh as who was asking for permission to open the door, which Josh granted. Tyler opened the door, revealing Mark all dressed up standing on the doorstep.
“Are you guys ready to go?” Mark asked.
“Almost there.” Josh said, fixing his tie in front of the mirror.
Tyler never really spoke to Mark, he was kind of reluctant about him. Not for any specific reason, just because he was much more close to Josh. While they were talking, Tyler was on his own bubble, seated on the couch. He was observing them, with big eyes and holding his legs against his chest.
“Josh, are you taking Tyler to the congress? Dude, he’s scenting. It’d be like throwing meat on a lion’s cage, they’re going after him!” Mark said in a low voice so Tyler wouldn’t listen.
He was right, though. Their room was filled with scenting, Tyler’s mixed with Josh’s, a real mess.
“He’ll be fine, Mark. We’re both alphas and we know how to fight, we can handle this.” Josh said, still focusing on his tie. “Plus, I’ll be responsible for Tyler. You’ll be his guardian only while I’m at the seminar.”
“Have you practiced your speech?”
“Not really. But everything is under control.”
“Please, don’t do dad jokes while presenting. It’s cringe.”
Josh’s reaction was a side eye to Mark which could make even the toughest guy afraid. He backed up, hands up.
Everyone packed up, the truck as back to the road, heading to the congress. When they arrived, Mark left the car under the care of the Valet before entering the huge building. It was all concrete with huge windows which reflected the whole city. Tyler has seen big structures at Olympus, but never something that enormous.
Josh and Mark were in suits and ties, both with their glasses. Tyler, on the other hand, was comfortable with an oversized blue jeans jumpsuit and a pink t-shirt underneath, and black sneakers.
Both of his friends stopped by to talk to some random men, they were laughing and talking enthusiastically about some subject Tyler had no idea of what was about. He was behind Josh, biting his nails as if it was the most delicious dish on earth.
As much as Josh struggled to help Tyler to mitigate Tyler’s symptoms he was still in his heat and a real mess right now. Sweating and shivering because of the cold wasn’t his biggest problem anymore, but the amount of scent he was smelling was getting on his nerves. Most of the scents were disgusting, nothing like Josh’s.
“Are you doing okay, Tyler?” Josh asked, getting Tyler out of his own thoughts. They were in line to get their credentials to the event and Tyler was right next to Josh, hanging on the alpha’s arm as if his life depended on that. “If you don’t feel good you can always tell me, okay?”
Tyler looked at Josh with his big, rounded eyes adorned with long lashes. He nodded at Josh before stepping out, the line moving again.
Josh went back on discussing with Mark, leaving Tyler not an option but to look around, curiously. He was listening to some people’s conversations, he observed some other guys who were dressed just like Josh and Mark, but he couldn’t see anyone looking like him. Why was he different from the others?
The line moved again and this time, the trio would be the next one to receive their credentials. It didn’t take so much time to happen.
“Welcome Gentleman, I’ll need your full names and documents.” The lady with perfect hair and bright red lipstick said with a bright smile.
Josh and Mark handled the girl their papers, while Tyler got paralyzed. What does she mean “full name”?
“And you, sir?” Now the lady was looking straight at Tyler. The omega looked at Josh, who had just realized that Tyler had no documents with him. Fuck.
Josh cleared his throat before speaking up. “Oh, he lost his wallet on our way to New York, he doesn’t have any document with him right now. But he’s my guest, could we register him under my credentials?”
“Of course. Mr. Dun, right?” The black curly haired girl confirmed while tapping on her computer. “So, what’s your first name?” She looks towards Tyler.
“Tyler.” He confirms, voice low. Hir grip on Josh’s arms getting a bit tighter as he feels nervous.
“Middle name?”
Tyler wasn’t expecting for this. He heard about humans having more than one name, which he found weird.
“Hmmm. Robert!?” Tyler wasn’t sure if he was confirming or asking. He picked up this name after one of this favorites Teachers Zeus ordered to homeschool her, him. Whatever.
“Good. Last name?”
What do they have so many names?”
“Oh. Uhm… Joseph.” He chose the name of Joseph, one of the cooks of his castle. He used to give her extra sweeties during the meals.
“All good. Welcome to the 30th Science Congress of New York. Your credentials allow you to enter and leave the building whenever you want during the event. Enjoy” she says with a large smile on her thick red lips.
Josh and Mark thanked the girl, while Tyler waved to her, walking behind the two scientists.
They didn’t have so many complications during the day, except from Josh getting overprotective over Tyler once or twice but it was because of the assholes. Tyler was scenting, he was a bit dizzy from the hormones, but he did his best to behave, especially when Josh was speaking up about some complicated stuff on the podium.
Tyler was astonished by how good Josh speaks and how smart he is. Mark was seated next to him during Josh’s whole speech, and Tyler could see how focused the public was on every word Josh was saying. He even made them laugh. Tyler didn’t get why they were laughing but pretended to know so he wouldn’t let Josh down.
Once Dun was over, it was possible to hear applause from all over the theater. Josh walked down to the auditorium, being cherished and complimented by a few people before coming towards his two friends.
“You did it, dude! Very proud of you.” Mark said first, greeting Josh with a high five loud enough to echo through the whole room.
“Thanks Mark, we did it.” Josh speaks, a funny smirk showing off. “Can’t wait to get back to the lab and spend weeks drinking coffee and crying on the restroom with you.”
Josh could see Tyler next to Mark, smiling while biting his lip shyly. He waited for Josh to come closer before speaking up.
“You did great, Josh. I was impressed with your knowledge.” Tyler says, his cheeks pink-ish.
“Thank you, Ty. Are you doing fine?” Josh checks again.
“Hmmm” The omega hummed, pondering. “I’m kinda hungry.”
“Good. Let’s eat something, mingle a little bit and hit the road after. I want my house.” Josh replies, stepping up to the restaurant direction.

Chapter Text
Their way back to Ohio had everything to be a calm and peaceful trip. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as expected.
If Tyler behaved all day during the congress, on the road, his body had a complete breakdown. He was all touchy and needy, his hormones were a mess, his scent strong enough to put an alpha down. Josh had to abandon his passenger seat next to Mark to seat next to Tyler on the back seat of the car, scenting him in an attempt to calm him down a little.
Mark was stepping on the gas, doing everything he could to arrive in Ohio as soon as possible, being praised by Josh’s sweet compliments:
“Have you skipped your driving lessons?”
“In case you didn’t know, there’s a pedal on the car’s floor. It makes the car go faster.”
“Try taking your feet out of the breaks, Mark.”
These are just a few of them.
Tyler spent the whole trip lying over Josh’s lap, Dun caressing his hair gently. He was shaking, trembling, whining quietly, feeling the alpha’s fingertips massaging his scalp. Tyler seemed to be facing some heat waves; he’d every once in a while bury his face onto Josh’s clothes, breathing every molecule of his perfume, and a few minutes later, he’d be totally okay again, having mild symptoms as he had during the day.
They spent the whole night on the non-ending road. Josh felt glad as he could visualize the familiar scenario of the city where he was born and raised. Soon enough, Mark parked over Josh’s house.
Tyler would, obviously, stay with Josh. He said goodbye to Mark and thanked him for helping to take care of him during the trip, and apologized for anything he’d have done that could have made Mark upset. Josh felt his heart tight on cuteness, especially because Mark, who was usually grumpy and boring, smiled and said he had nothing to be worried about.
It was a burden being taken off of Josh’s shoulders, actually. Mark had to do a lot to help him out with Tyler during these days, and Josh knew he had his concerns about Tyler, but in the end, everything worked just fine.
After unpacking everything, Josh and Tyler were in the bedroom, Josh was organizing a few clothes left while Tyler was diligently arranging his nest atop Josh’s bed, being extra careful to fluff each pillow and meticulously organize the blankets in their proper place. Josh was dazzled watching the omega focused on his task, eventually stopping to ponder about the best spot to place something, crawling from one side to another to check if everything is in order and to scent his own place.
Tyler finished his nest and Josh lied down with him. He was tired and had planned to take a long nap through the day, but Tyler purring while licking Josh’s gland changed his mind. It didn’t take long before Josh seated between Tyler’s leg, working on the little omega’s aching hard cock, listening to his little cries and moans echoing through the room.
“J-joshie, i-it’s good…” Tyler squirms. He unconsciously thrust his hips against Josh’s hand, feeling his climax approaching.
Joshua was focused on Tyler, admiring each centimeter of Tyler’s sweat skin trembling with pleasure. Josh touched Tyler a few more times after that morning in the hotel and he was still shocked by how good the omega looked and sounded when being touched.
Tyler’s flushed cheeks and long eyelashes decorating the puppy look he’d give to Josh as he feels his lower abdomen burning, a loud moan being kept into his throat and locked between his pink, plump lips. Josh could cum just looking at that sight.
“Is it good, ty?” Dun asks, still moving his closed wrist on Tyler’s cock.
“Y-yeah, I’m feeling g-good, almost th-there”
A few more moves and Tyler was done, making a small mess over his own stomach. He was catching his breath, chest going up and down fast while he was still feeling that sharp feeling on his veins. It was more intense than the other times he and Josh had sex.
Before Tyler could notice Josh was even away, he felt the mattress heavy on his side and something soft cleaning his stomach. “Let me clean you, ty.”
Tyler hummed positively, relaxing his body. Josh left again and the omega complained, annoyed.
“Joshie, sleep…” Tyler whimpers. “Don’t leave me alone, lay with me.”
As he wished, Josh walked back to bed and slept next to Tyler the whole day. They eventually woke up to Josh’s cellphone ringing, louder than he actually remembered. He picked up and it was a work call, they were asking him about a formula they tried and went just wrong. Since Josh took a few days off, the junior scientists would call him to ask staff the senior in charge wouldn’t know how to answer. The guy was a prick.
Tyler woke up after Josh, groggy and needy, complaining about being hungry.
Then, Dun got up and went to the kitchen to prepare some food while Tyler was in the living room. He was wandering over the room, seeing everything with curiosity. Josh had lots of books distributed on rustic wooden shelves which hung all over one of the walls. He also had plants and paintings decorating the space, all of these matching gracefully with the light green colored walls. A specific object was catching Tyler’s attention, which was a huge black rectangle thing hanging on his wall, right in front of the couch. Tyler could see his own reflex on it, what made him even more confused about what it would be? Art, maybe? Humans are into exotic stuff.
While Tyler was unraveling the mysterious black item in the living room, Josh was preparing his favorite food ever: pasta al Limone and caprese salad. Thankfully, his fridge was stocked with a few ingredients he bought before traveling to New York.
He was cooking the pasta, while the salad was ready and served in a white porcelain bowl, decorated with sliced mozzarella cheese, basil leaves and shredded parmigiano on top. He separated two plates and cutlery for both of them and added glasses next to these arrangements.
In a few minutes, the dinner was ready, and the pasta was settled in a similar bowl next to the salad, decorated with some lemon zest on the top. He was proud he could prepare such a delicious meal.
Walking to the living room, Dun was looking for Tyler to call him to dinner. He was taken by surprise by Tyler, seating on his couch, hypnotized on his turned off TV. He cleared his throat, what gave Tyler a scare.
“Hey, uh… are you alright?” Josh asked, standing at the living room entrance.
“Yes, I was just… Trying to understand this… thing.” Tyler said, point at the TV.
Josh was confused, so he walked next to Tyler to try to visualize what he was pointing at. He thought that there might be something behind or in front of the TV screen but there wasn’t anything.
“What are you talking about, Tyler?” Josh asked, squinting his eyes in an attempt to see what Tyler is talking about.
“This black frame. What’s the point of it?” Tyler questioned, more specific now.
Josh’s face had a question mark painted all over it, but still, he chuckled because of how stupid this whole scene might have looked. It could have been a The Office’s scene, for sure.
“Tyler, this is the television.” Josh said softly, straightening his posture. “You can watch it, if you want.” The omega’s face was showing how confused he was, and before he could be able to ask Josh anything else, the alpha spoke up again. “Are you hungry? I prepared some food for us.”
“Oh. Actually yes, I’m kind of hungry. I’d love to eat something.” Tyler responded.
Josh walked Tyler to the kitchen, Tyler sat down in one of the chairs and Josh walked to the fridge to get something for them to drink.
“Tyler, I only have beer and wine to drink. Would you like any of those? If don’t, I can get you some water.”
Tyler likes wine, he used to drink wine at Olympus.
“I’d like some wine, please.” He says, politely.
Josh walks to the table, a bottle of wine in one hand and a can of beer on the other. He poured the scarlet drink into Tyler’s glass before placing the bottle in the center of the wooden table.
“I prepared pasta al Limone and caprese salad. You can serve yourself, make yourself at home.”
For the first time in two days, this was the closest Tyler felt from home. He was used to eating salad, cheese, drinking wine and this kind of food. He served himself with salad, taking a considerable portion of green leaves and mozzarella cheese.
Relief ran through Josh’s bloodstream watching Tyler eating something different from tacos and burritos. He watched how gracefully he’d put food over this plate and how his posture would be impeccable over the table: erect back and delicate hand moves, nothing abrupt nor clumsy.
Josh’s expectations were broken at the moment he saw Tyler eating with his hands instead of using a fork. It wasn’t gross, but on the contrary, he could be gracious even eating food with his bare hands.
“Oh my goodness Josh, this tastes spectacular!” Tyler complimented; his mouth was still full of food. “Thank you so much for this.”
“Thanks, Ty.” Josh speaks; he was a bit flushed because of the compliments but was genuinely happy Tyler liked his food. “I missed eating some real food after eating only fast food for 2 days.”
“I thought you liked burritos.” Tyler confessed, taking another portion of food to his mouth.
“I do, but I prefer eating real food, you know? Home made.”
Later, after both ate and Tyler helped Josh with the dishes, even though Joshua insisted he didn’t need to, they were back in bed watching some random movie together. The concept of television was still confusing to Tyler; he’d eventually ask Josh if there were small people acting behind the screen. Josh would laugh and then patiently explain it to Tyler.
They stood like this for a long time. Tyler even fell asleep next to Josh. It didn’t last long; soon he woke up whining and looking for Josh.
“What’s wrong, kitten?” Josh asks, pushing Tyler closer. Unlike other times, Tyler almost crawled to Josh’s lap, resting his head on his chest.
“It’s happening again” Tyler cried out. “I-I hate being like this, I spent most part of my day in pain!” He complaint. “Josh, you smell different.” Tyler says, lazily. “It’s good.”
“Do I?” Josh automatically raised his arm to smell himself, but to his own surprise, he noticed his clothes were actually soaked by sweat. His own sweat. Josh touched his own forehead and God; he was in fever. Oh, crap.
Josh stood up immediately, looking for his flip flops while taking his cellphone. “Tyler, I need to make a phone call. You wait for me here, okay?” He speaks.
Tyler whined, missing Josh’s body heat, but agreed.
Josh walked downstairs while dialing on his phone. His heart racing as he waited for his call to be picked up.
“Who bothers me late at night?” The feminine voice sounded through the cellphone.
“Jenna, I’m fucked, please help me.” Josh murmured, locking himself in the kitchen.
“Tell me you did not adopt another omega from the streets.” She said in an ironic tone.
“Worst. I think my rut matched Tyler’s cycle.” Josh says. “I’m hot, sweating as hell and I’m smelling different from the usual.”
“Did you and Tyler had any sexual contact?” Jenna asks.
A brief silence filled their call.
“Fuck, Josh.” Jenna curses, mad at his stupid friend. “What happened between you two? Don’t lie to me, lie to a doctor makes you go straight to hell!”
“I just touched him, nothing else!” Dun defends himself. “What do you take me for? I’m not a perv, I wouldn’t do anything to Tyler.”
“I don’t think you’re a perv, just think you’re stupid!” She continues. “Anyways, if you two had sexual interaction, chances are you two bonded.”
“What? We didn’t- I didn’t mate him. How is it possible?”
“Bonding can happen if there a sentimental link between an alpha and an omega, too, Josh. Considering this is Tyler’s first heat ever, and you’ve been taking care of him and being overprotective around him, there’s a huge possibility you two bonded. It’s nature.” Jenna explains calmly.
“And what am I supposed to do?” Josh’s voice sounded more desperate than he’d like. “I-I can’t spend a rut next to an omega I can’t mate, it’s torture.”
“You two are already bonded, so avoid sexual contact is useless now. Just… try to not impregnate him for now.”
Jenna’s words made Josh blush. He could only respond her with a quick “thanks-jenna-gottago-by” before hanging up.
Then, Josh sat on the kitchen floor, devasted. Since night one, Josh worried about one thing: his cycle matching Tyler’s, and now, it was happening. He felt bad, a bit stupid for believing he’d be able to take care of an omega without bonding.
Now, it was too late to regret anything: his symptoms had already started to show up and there was nothing he could do about it. He took a breath – a deep one, - before standing up and walking back to his bedroom.
Approaching his bedroom door, he could hear Tyler’s small cry behind it. He felt his whole body warming up, the overprotectiveness growing on him. As he opens the doors, he visualizes Tyler sitting on bed, holding his knees against his chest while crying. It was a different cry, not the one he’d have when he’s suffering from heat.
“Tyler, what happened?” Josh asks worried, practically jumping into the bed and picking up Tyler and putting him into his lap.
“Josh, it’s hurting so so bad, I can’t—” He sobbed, burying his face into Josh’s wet shirt. “I-I don’t wanna feel pain anymore, I don’t—”
Dun sighed, feeling every inch of his body shivering as he felt Tyler weight on his lap. His hormones were stronger, which means his smell was now affecting Tyler directly. He was probably in pain because his body was forcing himself to mate.
Tyler’s body was too immature, this was his first heat ever, which means he has probably never dealt with other alphas in a situation like this. Josh was also feeling pushed by his own instincts to go further with Tyler, but his conscience won’t allow him to do such a thing.
Josh felt the omega nibbing and biting his scent gland, intoxicated with his flavor and completely out of his mind while whining and crying, looking for any kind of relief.
“Tyler… stop, please.” Josh begged, although his body was craving Tyler more than anything in the world. “You need to stay away from me.”
Tyler’s scent was fighting the territory with Josh’s. The conscient side of Josh knew what the right thing was to keep Tyler away so they wouldn’t do anything dumb. On the other side, his instincts scream: mate, mate mate!
“Please please please, it’s hurting so much Josh, it’s worst than other times” Tyler whined again, his face buried on Josh’s neck.
Unfortunately, Josh knew exactly what would take his pain away.
“Tyler, hear me out.” Josh uses all of his self-control to talk to Tyler, his alpha voice strong so Tyler would listen to Josh. “Remember what I told you about heat and rut and cycles?” Josh asked and Tyler nodded, his eyes still filled with tears.
Josh patiently explained everything to Tyler. How they were bonded and their cycles ended up matching and how dangerous it would be for Tyler to stay next to Josh during this period. Tyler didn’t accept his argument in a nice way, on the contrary.
“Please Josh, stay with me, I-I’ll behave, I’d do anything, I can’t be like this alone” The omega begs, tears coming down of his flushed cheeks.
Josh was sure he could hear the pieces of his heart cracking on the floor. And now he feels guilty. He wouldn’t have the guts to force Tyler to spend his heat alone, that’d be torture. As Jenna said, they were already bonded so avoiding sexual contact would be useless. Josh would just need to be rational and responsible.
“I won’t leave you Tyler. I can’t.” Josh said, a long sigh following his speech. “We’re going to spend these days together. But promise me you’re going to do exactly what I say and tell me if I’m exceeding your boundaries.”
Tyler nodded, a little sob escaping from his lips. He felt relieved Josh would stay with me.
“Is that a deal?” Dun asks.
“It’s a deal.” Tyler says, drying his cheeks with his hands. “I promise I’ll behave, Joshie.”

Josh woke up completely ruined. His throat was dry, back hurting and a boner which wouldn’t go away. In the shower, he even tried to relieve himself. It worked, but not for long.
Tyler was still asleep in bed, so Josh decided to go downstairs to get them some food and water to spend the days. He had ordered frozen food and lots of water bottles, so they’d be stocked for the week. He organized the supplies in a bag and walked upstairs to refill his bedroom. As he opened the door, he could hear Tyler hissing from the bed, recoiling himself as if he was ready to attack.
“Stay away from me!” He yelled.
Josh had no reaction, he stood there looking at Tyler, still. When Tyler’s big dark eyes saw Josh, he seemed to let his guard down, but not completely.
“Tyler, calm down, it’s me! What’s wrong?” Josh asks, worried. “Did I do anything to you? I’m sorry I—”
“No-no! I’m sorry Josh, I didn’t mean to—You didn’t do nothing!” It was Tyler’s turn to look worried at his partner.
Tyler recoiled himself completely now, his hair still standing on end. His pupils went back to normal while his eyes became teary. Dun was confused by what had just happened, still, he’d have to calm Tyler down before anything else.
“What happened, kitten?” He asked, approaching the bed slowly. Tyler didn’t flinch or reacted in any bad way, so he sat on the bed.
Purposefully, Josh started to scent in order to soothe Tyler off. It worked; the omega crawled to Josh’s lap where he nested himself on the alpha’s large strong chest.
“I had a bad dream, t-that’s all.” He spoke.
Josh’s hand swam through Tyler’s hair, caressing his scalp. Tyler was still crying, the stubborn teardrops running down his face, even though he was purring, enjoying the feeling of the alpha’s touch. Josh didn’t really know what to do or say, he was afraid he might upset Tyler even more, so he just stood there. Quiet.
Tyler was feeling weird, disappointed in himself. He yelled at Josh. It sounded so… ungrateful. How could he ever think about attacking the one who was being his caregiver?
“Josh, I’m sorry for yelling at you. I was scared, I had just woken up from sleep and then you entered through the door and I—” He started to explain himself, but was cut off by Josh.
“You don’t need to apologize, Tyler. I’m not mad at you. I’m just worried, not mad.“ Josh said.
Again, guilt hit Tyler like a wave. He was tired of worrying Josh.
“All I do is worry you off.” Tyler said, sad. “You’ve been taking care of me so well and all I do is cause you problems.”
Josh was taken by surprise with Tyler words. He definitely didn’t take Tyler as a burden; but as a companion he really likes to be with.
“Tyler, you’re not a burden to me.” Josh says to the Omega. “I don’t take you as an obligation. It’s true I have a responsibility with you, but I never felt obligated to do it.”
Josh wrapped his arms around Tyler, who was still on his lap. The scent was useful on calming the little one down. Both of them kept like that, not a word was said for long minutes. Tyler even fell asleep on Josh’s lap, got woken up while Josh was trying to lie down in bed. Besides all of this, Tyler didn’t move an inch.
“Do you wanna talk about your dream?” Josh asks.
Tyler whines, spoiled. Josh knows this means a “no”. Tyler was still fighting his own mind trying to forget such awful scenes he had dreamed of. He could remember briefly about a man – a tall one. Grey hair, olive skin and red eyes. His face was familiar, but Tyler couldn’t remember who he was, what was making him even more anxious about his dream.
“I brought some food.” Josh’s voice takes Tyler out of his thoughts. “And water. You need to drink some.” He adds.
“Not thirsty.” Tyler mumbled, sleepy.
“You need to drink some water, kitten. Don’t want you to get sick or anything.” Josh said, stretching his arm to grab a bottle of water. He opened it and positioned it near to Tyler’s mouth. The omega sighed before reaching the bottleneck, getting a few sips of water running down his throat. When he was enough, he gave a little tap on Josh’s hand so he could take the water bottle away.
“Are you hungry?”
“No” Tyler says, shaking his head slightly while he cleans his wet lips with the back of his hand. “I just want to stay next to you.”
“I’m here, though.” Josh chuckles. Tyler smiles, diving his face into Josh’s neck, nibbing his nose into the alpha’s scent gland. “Don’t bite, ty.”
“I won’t.” He says. “I just wanna smell you.”
“You like my scent?” Josh teases, pretending he’s not liking Tyler licking and kissing his neck.
“Uhmhm” Tyler says, shyly, feeling his cheeks burning. Before he could even notice, he let go of Josh’s gland to hide his face into his neck. He could already feel the heat over his belly followed by the slicky feeling between his legs. Josh could feel Tyler getting hard against his thigh. “I-I’m sorry Josh” Tyler said embarrassed.
“There’s nothing to be sorry for, kitten.” Dun whispers into Tyler ear. The fragile little boy could feel the shivers all over his spine with the alpha’s voice. As if it was even possible, Tyler strokes his face even harder against Josh’s neck, trying to hide from something he didn’t even know what was. Shame, maybe. He felt so vulnerable in these moments. “Do you want me to make you feel good?”
“Yes, please!” Tyler’s voice echoed muffled against Josh’s skin.
Josh wrapped his arms around Tyler’s narrow waist, holding him in order to make him feel safe. He started to kiss the boy’s skin: from the neck to shoulder, leaving a small bite on this tanned skin.
“W-why can you bite me, but I can’t bite you?” Tyler’s curiosity talks over his arousal, causing Josh to chuckle slightly.
“Because I’m the alpha here...” Josh replies, more unserious than he expected. “…and I know how to bite properly, kitten. And you promised you’d behave for me, didn’t you?”
“Y-yeah, alpha.” Tyler stutter. He could feel his underwear completely wet by the slick coming out of him. “I promised.”
“Let me take care of you, baby.” Josh coos, switching their position in bed and placing Tyler under him. Tyler was about to try to hide his face again on Josh’s neck but before he did it, he was surprised by Josh’s lips against his.
He didn’t really know what to do, but he liked it. It felt good.
Josh knew he was crossing lines here, that he was playing with fire, but he didn’t care now. His instincts were fighting his self-consciousness. He couldn’t mate Tyler nor knot him. He’d have to be aware enough to enjoy his own pleasure and do not cross any boundaries.
Tyler, on the other hand, was completely away from his senses. His brain was fuzzy, like a steam was covering all his thoughts. The only thing he could think about was Josh and Josh’s scent. If his body was cold and shivering by the hormones, Josh’s body was warm enough to keep his and Tyler’s body warm. If Tyler was out of his mind, Josh was in control of everything and ordering Tyler out for their own good. It seemed like a good relation to Tyler.
“J-Josh, oh God, t-that’s s-so good” Tyler moans as he feels Josh’s warm mouth wrapping his cock around. Josh hummed, sending vibrations to Tyler’s dick, making him quiver.
Tyler lasts longer than he expected and less than Josh wished. He collapsed into the alpha’s mouth, who swallowed it willingly. Tyler’s fuzzy vision could barely see Josh’s dark curls coming up onto his chest, feeling warm kisses on his skin before feeling those soft lips he experienced minutes ago.
“You taste good, Ty.” Josh says while giving small kisses into Tyler’s face.
“Do I?” Tyler asks, his voice is a bit weak while he recovers from his climax.
“Yes. It’s sweet.” Josh speaks, lying on the mattress right next to Tyler. Josh had a boner between his legs, and that would be the moment he’d lock himself in the bathroom and touch himself until he was done.
But he definitely didn’t see Tyler’s next move coming.
Josh was getting himself straight next to Tyler when, still out of breath, Tyler spoke.
“Josh, c-can I make you feel good?”
Joshua froze. Instantly. Once more, Tyler caught him off of guard.
He turned his head to face Tyler, who was staring at the ceiling. Josh could see the boy’s cheeks turning a crimson red.
Dun wanted to ask Tyler what he just said; he wanted to be sure of what he had just heard. He didn’t, though. “Do you want to?”
Tyler finally turns his head to face Josh. He didn’t reply, he just nodded. “Only if you want to.”
“I do.” Josh responds. His eyes locked into the omega’s.
Josh could see, physically, the boundary being broken. The image of Tyler biting his glistening lip while looking angelical with cheeks crimson red almost gave Josh a stroke. He swore he could feel his own dick growing just by looking at his partner.
“Come here, then.” Josh called him. The alpha extended his hand to Tyler, who grabbed it.
Laid on his back now, Josh guided Tyler’s hand, then he offered to grab his other hand, which he also guided. Josh positioned the man’s hands over this chest, feeling his cold hand over his warm skin marking him like a tattoo. Tyler even had the idea to play a bit with Josh: he ran his hands over his neck, until his face, where he caressed Josh’s face, giggling when he felt his half growth beard against his hand.
Josh chuckled too, still, he brought Tyler’s hands back to their original path. Josh guided him to trace his own abdomen to his v-line. Tyler was a bit shaky, feeling nervous since it was his first time touching someone in this way.
“What do I do now?” Tyler asks. Josh was only with boxers now, his dick hard hidden under the thin fabric.
“What do I always do to you, baby?” Josh says, a cocky grin showing up on his lips. Tyler felt his face burn; he’d hide anywhere if he could. “Just touch it, ty. There’s no rush. I’ll teach you.”
Tyler gulped, feeling his own insecurity about touching his partner. He did it, though. It was weird but good. At least, he liked it.
Josh felt Tyler palming his cock through his boxers. He had let go of his hands at that moment, letting the man free to explore his body.
“You can do exactly what I do to you, baby.” Josh says. “You know, touch it for real, spit on it…”
“Can I put it in my mouth just like you did to me today?”
Oh lord, you can do whatever you want. Josh thought.
“Only if you feel like doing it, kitten.” Josh said.
“I do.” Tyler says, a bit unaware of his words. He was too focused on touching Josh, his hand going up and down his shaft. Josh’s breath was starting to be out of rhythm, feeling the warm palm stimulating him. “How am I supposed to do with my mouth?”
“It’s like—ah—a lollipop.” Dun tries to explain while feeling Tyler’s play with the tip of his cock. “Just suck it, you know?”
Tyler lays on his stomach to be next to Josh’s dick, sticking his tongue out, licking its length. Josh moaned, loving the feeling of Tyler’s warm tongue wrapped around him. His first instinct was to catch Tyler’s hair to guide him. “Move your head baby, up and down.” He spoke.
Tyler obeyed his instructions and started to move his head, slowly. He gagged once or twice eventually. Josh was holding down into his own self control to not stroke his hips against the omega’s face.
“Yes kitten, you’re d-doing great, keep going, ‘kay?” Josh praised the omega. Tyler felt something weird on his belly, almost warm.
When the air became necessary, Tyler pushed away from Josh’s dick, a string of saliva connecting his plump lips to Josh’s member. Tyler sat again on the bed, palming himself to find out what was happening down there to him, when he noticed he was hard again.
Josh, who was also catching his breath, looked at Tyler to check on him. “Are you good?”
Tyler nodded, cleaning his lips with the back of his hand, his eyes a bit teary. “Y-yeah, I mean” He stuttered, pointing down at his lower abdomen. “I-I’m hard again.”
Josh chuckled of Tyler’s embarrassed expression. He’d always blush when becoming hard because of his heat.
“Lay on your back, kitten. I’m gonna take care of you” Josh orders.
Tyler obeys his instructions and lay on his back, his dick aching hard against his belly. Josh starts to masturbate Tyler as he has been doing these days, but he noticed how much slick was dripping from the omega’s hole.
“It’s gooood alpha, so so good” Tyler whines, spreading his thighs to help him to stroke against Josh’s hand.
“I know it’s good, you’re dripping baby.” Josh says, still stroking Tyler’s shaft.
The omega, who closed his eyes as he felt his climax close again, replies. “I-I’m sorry.”
He had no idea that dripping was a good thing. Since he turned into a human, Tyler has been feeling like he’s a mistake. Everything he does is bad.
Josh disagrees completely with his idea. He thought Tyler was perfect the way he was.
“Nothing to be sorry for, kitten. It’s a good thing. You’re being a good omega for me.” Josh praises.
Tyler stroke hard against Josh’s hand, a long moan escaping through his lips. “y-yeah? I thought it was a bad thing.”
“No, it’s not, baby.” Dun says calmly. “It’s a good thing, actually.”
“W-why?” Tyler asks, stroking his hips against Josh’s hand one more time.
Josh takes a deep breath, putting himself together to be able to explain everything to Tyler. He’d always worry about it so Tyler would know his body and also be aware of what they were doing.
“Because the slick helps your alpha to slide inside of you.” Dun explained, still stimulating his partner.
Tyler didn’t know for sure why, but Josh’s words made his body tremble. A deep, strong shiver down his spine which forced him to arc his back, a long whine being heard from him.
“J-Joshie, pleasepleaseplease” He cried out. Josh loved the time when Tyler would be so high into his own pleasure he’d start to babble nonsense. “Need… more”
If Josh’s shot was right, he’d affirm Tyler wanted — needed — something else. His body was craving this. And he definitely wouldn’t be a monster to deny this from his poor needy omega.
He led one of his hands to Tyler’s thighs, spreading them a little before running his fingers down into his ass. Josh could feel it the slicky wetting his fingers, and he took the opportunity to lubricate them enough before pulling his index inside of Tyler, who squirmed and whined louder than ever.
“Tell me if it’s too much, kitten.” Josh says. Tyler shakes his head fast, babbling “no, no, no” while holds a pillow next to him as his life depended on that.
“S’good Josh, so good so good, thankyouthankyou” The omega whispered.
Josh kept moving his hands until Tyler was done, which happened a few minutes later and with a long and loud moan of relief. The little one’s chest was up and down, and their bed was all wet.
Of course, Josh took care of all of this while Tyler was still recovering from his orgasm. He took Tyler into his arms, took him to the bathtub and turned on the shower on him, warm water raining on his also warm skin.
Meanwhile, he returned to their room and changed the bed sheet and cleaned the mess they made. He also took some water for them to drink while bathing.
Back to the bathroom, he found Tyler leaning his head against the bathtub rim, eyes closed and snoring a bit. He also cleaned his omega before involving him in a fluffy towel and get him back to bed so he could sleep well.
Taking care of an omega can be a lot of work, can’t it?
