"Grassy?!-"
Damnit! Snowball silently cursed himself. He had lost track of Grassy. Again. He took his eyes off of the kid for one damn second, and he already disappeared. Some days he cursed the kid's seemingly limitless energy.
Snowball frantically scoured the aisles of the grocery store, finding nothing but the disgruntled customers and unresponsive produce. His panic rose everytime he couldn't find the joyful patch of grass.
"Grassy? Grassy!" He called out hopelessly, his voice echoed. He needed to find an employee, fast. What if Grassy had been kidnapped? Or what if he'd seriously injured himself? So many things could've happened to him, all because Snowball couldn't keep his damn eyes on him…!
His stress only grew with each passing second, mounting and mounting. He paced back and forth in the freezer aisle, his eyes glistening with tears. Would he ever-
Snowball suddenly felt a gentle tap on his shoulder and he snapped his head, seeing no one other than Fries.
Snowball was irritated. "What do you wan-" He turned around to see none other than Fries standing behind him with an annoyed expression on his face. As Snowball opened his mouth to dismiss Fries, he cut him off.
"This your kid?" Fries said blankly, holding a very unbothered Grassy gently by the arm. A strong wave of relief surged through Snowball.
"Grassy! Oh thank god you're okay!" He hugged Grassy tightly, not wanting to let go of his son in fear of him getting lost again. Pulling away, he looked at Grassy sternly.
"Don't wander off like that again! You scared me.." He said
"Okay!" Grassy said cheerfully, his blades waving in the nonexistent wind, carefree and completely unaware of the emotional turmoil he'd subjected Snowball to.
Snowball plopped Grassy safely on his head and turned to Fries.
"Thanks a lot, Fries. Where'd you even find him?" Snowball asked
"He was just kind of sitting in the celery in the vegetable aisle" Fries said nonchalantly.
Snowball was confused. "What?"
"You heard me. He was just kind of sitting there and announcing his presence every so often" Fries said.
"He does that a lot" Snowball said affectionately.
Fries was confused "Does what often? Sit in celery?"
Snowball couldn't help but laugh at the other object's confusion. "I mean, he does do that too."
Fries snorted, staring at Grassy who was kicking his legs as he stared at the ice cream tubs.
Snowball turned serious again. "But thank you, really. If you hadn't found him, I would've never and-"
Fries looked at Snowball, his expression softening. "Hey, it's over now. You found him, and now you can put this all behind you."
"But if you hadn't-"
"But I did. And Grassy's safe. You didn't lose him."
Snowball sighed "Yeah.."
They were both in silence for a moment before Snowball spoke up again, blushing slightly.
"Fries..?"
Fries looked up "Hm..yeah?"
Snowball looked disgruntled and flushed. "I was wondering if you- you wanted to get to know each other better-?"
Fries was slightly shocked. Was Snowball asking him on a- a date?!
Snowball looked extremely embarrassed and ashamed. "Y-You don't have to-"
A small smile spread across Fries's face. "Yeah, I-I'd like that.."

A few minutes later, after Fries and Snowball had exchanged numbers, Snowball skipped happily out of the store with Grassy, feeling lighter than air.
This day was turning out to be one of the best days of Snowball's life.
