I have no explanation for this, I just needed to write something for them thinking about that night.

Work Text:

Gregg leaned against Steve, a little too close maybe but he was already feeling tipsy. The place was crowded; there were lots of women around them, the sound of laughter and conversation was almost as loud as the music. Gregg had options tonight, plenty of them. But his attention never drifted far from Steve.

Steve was next to him, eating fries, his eyes shining with laughter as he listened to some ridiculous road story. Gregg should have been watching the women watching him, but he wasn't. He was watching Steve. The way he smiled, the way he licked his fingers before brushing against Gregg's wrist reaching for a napkin.

They had been like this all night: too close, too careless and not bothering to hide it. Gregg’s arm had barely left Steve’s waist and it should have felt weird, being here, surrounded by available women, yet only wanting one person. But it didn’t. It felt good, he was sure. He knew exactly how he wanted this night to end.

Gregg leaned in, reckless, lips almost brushing Steve’s ear as he said, “We should go back.”

Steve barely turned his head, still chewing, barely blinking but there was something in his eyes that told Gregg he knew exactly what he needed. “Yeah?”

“I wanna fuck you so bad right now,” Gregg said, letting the heat inside of him come out for a second as he used his arm to pull Steve a little closer.

Steve let out a fast breath, biting his lip to try and hide a smile. Then, without another word, he wiped his hands on a napkin, grabbed Gregg’s wrist, and pulled him towards the exit.

They made their way towards the hotel with their arms thrown around each other, their bodies pressing together with every step as they laughed about everything and nothing. The air between them was light with humor but there was also something wild and electric, something waiting for a little privacy to get out.

They barely made it into the hallway before Gregg turned Steve around and slammed him against the wall, hands gripping his hips, mouth against his ear.

“You’re driving me crazy,” Gregg growled against Steve’s skin.

Steve’s laughter died as Gregg’s mouth crashed against his. It was hungry and wild. Hands started to search through clothes, finding skin and it was way too much for the hallway but Gregg couldn’t stop himself, couldn’t slow down. He needed Steve. He wanted to lose himself inside him, to hear his name from Steve’s lips in that desperate way that made Gregg feel like nothing else matter.

Eventually Steve pushed Gregg away enough to get the room door open. Gregg barely got the door shut before Steve shoved him back against it. They didn’t bother with gentleness. Clothes hit the floor, hands grabbed too hard, desperation taking over.

Gregg was barely thinking enough to remember the lube was in one of their bags, but he couldn’t find it fast enough. Steve was on him, kissing his neck, pressing against him like he couldn’t wait either. The second Gregg’s fingers wrapped around the bottle, he was back on Steve, back to pushing him toward the bed. The bedframe creaked when they crashed onto it.

He pulled Steve’s legs open too fast, too rough. Steve gasped, eyes dark, pupils wide. He obviously liked it, his body already arching for more, but there was something else, something deeper, something unsaid.

Gregg rushed through the preparation, barely giving himself time to make sure Steve was ready, they were both out of patience. Steve was gripping his shoulders, gasping his name, rocking into him like he wanted more, faster, now.

Gregg kissed down Steve’s throat, Steve let out breathless: “I thought you were in the mood for a girl tonight.”

He wasn’t teasing, it was a silent question. One neither of them had ever asked. What are we doing? What is this?

Something tightened in Gregg's chest, reckless and real. His fingers pressed into Steve’s hips as he growled against his skin, “I don’t want any girl.” He pushed inside, groaning against Steve’s throat. “Just you.”

Steve’s back arched, his nails pushing into Gregg’s shoulders, legs tightening around his waist. His eyes were wide and his mouth dropped open. “Gregg,” he gasped, like he couldn’t believe he was saying that.

“Only you,” Gregg let out, the confession breaking him as much as the feeling of being inside Steve. “There’s nothing better.”

Steve’s body trembled under him, around him, his breathing fast. Gregg couldn’t stop, couldn’t hold back, not when Steve was looking at him like that, not when this felt like it was special night. He repeated it again and again between desperate kisses, between thrusts that shook the bed.

“Want to live inside you. Fuck, you let me…”

Steve sobbed against his mouth, letting out a needy sound. “Yeah, I love how you feel,” he gasped, fingers finding their way to Gregg’s hair, pulling him closer, needing more. “More, don’t stop, just…”

A loud bang against the wall made Gregg freeze.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP!”

Ross.

Gregg’s heart almost jumped out of his chest. He pulled back just enough to look at Steve, expecting him to freak out, to push him away, to shut down completely now that the real world had forced its way into their moment.

But Steve just stared at him, flushed and panting, his lips red.

“Don’t stop,” Steve whispered. “Fuck me.”

Gregg’s grip on his legs tightened. His hesitation disappearing.

They lost themselves in each other after that.

Steve begged for it, voice breaking, telling Gregg there was only this, only them, like nothing else in the world mattered. And maybe, for now, nothing else did.

They didn’t stop the next time Ross voice was heard, they didn't stop until they were tangled up in each other, sweaty, shaking and satisfied.

Gregg pressed his forehead to Steve’s, still catching his breath.

This wasn’t like before.

Something was shifting between them, and sooner or later, they would have to face it.

Gregg wasn’t sure either of them were ready for that. But right now, with Steve pressed against him, he wanted to believe nothing else mattered.
