Evenings & midnights

Chapter Text

In the middle of the night, precisely 11:57pm, the Earth got up out of bed as quietly as possible as to not disturb Jupiter. The area around him was quite drafty, and the rain outside told him to wear his gray hoodie.

After taking off his pajamas and putting on a black shirt and blue pants, slipping on his shoes as well, Earth walked out of his room and slowly closed the door. It wasn’t all that easy sneaking around the light sleeper that is Jupiter. One wrong move and he’d have to kiss his plans goodbye.

Adrenaline rushed through his mind and his body. Earth looked around him, making sure Jupiter was still asleep and listened for any sudden movements. He crept silently past Jupiter’s bedroom and towards the living room. It felt much colder than his room, but the jacket kept him nice and warm.

Now it was time for an important part of sneaking out of the house; making it through the door. Earth walked carefully towards the entrance and left with minor sounds coming from the creaky floor and the door.

Earth put the hood over his head though the rain already slowed down some. He walked down the street, crossed over it and made his way to a nearby bar and restaurant.

Earth made it to the entrance and came across a man wearing a security outfit. He wondered why he was blocking his way.

“You must be 21 years of age to enter. Show your id or get lost.” The man said nonchalantly. Earth came prepared for this.

He reached for his pockets, rummaging through the weed cigarettes, keys and money. He took out his fake Id card and handed it to the security to analyze it. Of course, nothing wrong was found on said card, poor guy looked too tired to double check.

“You may head in.” The guy said, giving Earth back his id.

Earth searched for Dione, they had been planning nights like this very often as the two were boyfriend and girlfriend.

After searching the first floor, Earth decided to sit down at one of the tables. She went to him not long after.

“Dione what took you so long? Woke up a bit later than expected?” Earth wondered.

“Yeah, exactly! Good thing this place isn’t far from Saturn’s house.” Dione explained.

“You look lovely tonight, especially in that deep blue dress. Is that a gold earring?” Earth noticed, admiring the fine jewelry.

“Yes, Saturn got it for me as a Christmas present in December. Thank you!” Dione smiled.

“How come you didn’t come in a suit or anything? Don’t get me wrong, I love the hoodie, pretty casual, but It is a restaurant.” Dione asked.

“It was raining and I didn’t want to wake Jupiter.” Earth answered.

“How are things between you and Saturn?” Earth asked.

“A bit better than they once were. I can tell Saturn still sees titan as the favorite. He just, hides it well.” Earth could see the bitterness looming in those words.

“Well not to worry DeeDee, I would never choose Timmy over you.” Earth grabbed Dione by her hand, lifting it to his lips.

“It’s Titan.” Dione corrected him.

“Exactly. I’d get your name right every time and/or use a nickname.” Earth planted a light kiss on the back of her hand. Dione couldn’t help but chuckle.

“You are such a gentleman, Earth. I’m so lucky to have you around.” Dione complimented. The waiter made it to their table.

“What’ll you two have for tonight?” She asked.

“I’ll have the steak, fries and a glass of orange tequila. A slice of vanilla cake for dessert.” Earth ordered.

“And for the lady?” She added.

“I’ll have some stir fry, fried chicken and a biscuit. A glass of wine and also a slice of vanilla cake.” Dione answered. The waitress wrote it down and left.

“You’re not gonna order anything stronger?” Earth wondered.

“No. I mean we’re both teenagers who need to go home eventually. I don’t want a hangover.” Dione warned.

“I’m not gonna get a hangover, it’s one drink i promise.” Earth said as he reached into his pocket for his weed. He reached for his other pocket and took his lighter out.

“You smoke?” Earth offered, but dione refused.

“I don’t think that’s such a great idea when you just ordered alcohol.”

“I’ll be fine. If anything then my future self regrets it.” Earth brushed it off.

“You do realize your future self is still you right?” Dione pointed out.

“Yes but that point in time isn’t here yet so I’ma have my fun while I’m at it.” Earth dismissed it.

“Suit yourself. Hey how are things with Jupiter?” Dione wanted to know.

“It’s alright. As long as I don’t get caught doing anything bad I won’t get lectured or worse.” Earth explained.

“Nice word play. Instead of saying as long as you don’t do anything bad, you said as long as you don’t get caught doing anything bad.” She noticed.

“Wait, what do you mean by “or worse?” Does he like, send you to your room or something?” She added.

“Something like that.” Earth answered vaguely. He saw the waiter coming back with their food.

“There you are, the steak, and the stir fries. Along with your alcoholic beverages.” She sat down the two plates.

“Hold on, I asked for French fries with my steak and Dione asked for a biscuit and fried chicken with this. What’s the matter with you!!? You write something down and still don’t get it right!?” Earth got angry.

“I’m so sorry! I handed it to the chef but he isn’t the same one as during the day so—“

“I don’t want to hear your excuses! Go get us the rest of our food now!” He shouted, the waitress quickly scattered.

“You didn’t need to be so aggressive and rude. It was just an accident.” Dione called him out.

“Yeah but how does someone write down an entire order and then give us half? That makes no sense! Besides, now you have to wait longer and I like giving you want you want as soon as possible.” Earth calmed down.

“Pretty girls like you shouldn’t have to wait longer for food.” Earth smiled, taking both of her hands.

“Aww, well I’m flattered.” Dione felt very smitten by Earth’s compliment.

“I guess we could start eating now or the food will get cold.” Dione suggested.

“Right.” The couple each picked up an eating utensil from a plastic container and started eating.

“Mmm, not bad!” Dione complimented the food.

“I’m glad you like this place.” Earth spoke while eating.

“I’m glad you’re enjoying it too. How are things with luna?” Dione wondered.

“Things are great! After I taught him to play cards we’ve been teaming up. Money hasn’t been an issue punishment or not.” Earth answered.

“Wait hold up…you’ve been gambling!? Like at casinos and stuff?” Dione was shocked a bit.

“Sometimes, but what I really meant is that when me and my friends meet up anywhere and we play cards and gamble money for whoever wins. I’ve been on a winning streak and just yesterday I got $1000 alone.”

“Wow! That’s…a little irresponsible in handling your money like that but, at least you’re smart on who to do it with.”

“Irresponsible? I’m fine without a lecture about how to handle my money. If it’s any consolation I’m not doing it to anyone i believe i’d lose to. Also, I’m not even bidding as much as my opponents though sometimes i’d go all in.” Earth explained.

“And what happens if the day comes where you gamble all your money and lose?” Dione asked while Eating, taking a gulp of her wine while Earth did the same with tequila and wondering where the waitress was.

“Then that’ll be on February 30th because you’re just being imaginative. How about one day I take you shopping? You can pick whatever you like.” Earth offered.

“I would like that. Where even is that waitress already?” Dione complained.

“I don’t know.” Earth looked around and spotted the waitress leaving through the doors to the kitchen. She proceeded over to them with their food.

“Again, I am so sorry about the mishap.” The waitress apologized, earth drank more from his glass and finished it.

“You should be. Just pack everything and we’ll take it to go.” Earth sighed.

“Alright. And here’s the check.” The waitress sat the bill on the table and grabbed their food to place it in a to go box and in bags. The waitress left for a bit after sitting their bags on the table. Earth grabbed his, and Dione grabbed hers.

“The total is $30.98, should we leave a bigger tip than 2 cents?” Dione wondered.

“I have an idea.” Earth placed $31 on the check and took out a handful of pennies. He sat the pennies on the table and began arranging them.

“Whaat are you doing?” Dione looked confused.

“Just wait.” Earth didn’t take more than a minute or two before showing her and taking the leftover pennies.

“You arranged them into the shape of a middle finger?!!! Why did you-“

“I’m an artist, and they deserved it. Now let’s get out of here.” Earth picked up the lighter he had as well as the unused cigarette and lit it up. They left the place.

“Are you seriously gonna do that?” Dione became a bit concerned.

“What? What’s wrong you always let me smoke near you. And you’re no snitch.” Earth wondered.

“It’s just you’re about to walk home on your own and you’ve already had a glass. I don’t want you to get hurt.” Dione explained.

“I’ll be fine, I promise. How about I walk you home? I’ll keep you safe as well as myself.”

“Sure,” Dione wrapped her arms around Earth’s upper arm and leaned her head against his shoulder. They walked in comfortable silence.

About five minutes later, Dione and Earth arrived at a large house. The small garden and balcony really brought out its neutral colors.

“We’re here. I really enjoyed this outing with you.” Earth smiled.

“I enjoyed it with you as well. I’ve got to go ahead and sneak back in. I’m looking forward to spending more time with you.” Dione said.

“To you as well.” Earth pulled Dione in and put out the cigarette. They both leaned into each other and kissed while the light, drizzling raindrops fell from the clouds.

Earth walked back up the block, crossed back over the street, walked further up the block and up to the entrance. He gulped in anticipation and suspension.

He made his way to the entrance, took a deep breath, and opened the door. Good thing they lived in one of the safest neighborhoods with no real crimes other than teenagers with fake ids, Thieves and shoplifters. Earth closed it behind him slowly and locked the door from behind.

He crept into and passing by the living room. The area is still as cold as it was before if not colder. Earth walked past Jupiter’s room to find it open and with jupiter gone.

Earth began to panic a little, until he heard footsteps coming from the direction of where the bathroom would be. He instantly ran in the direction of his room and went inside before sitting the food down by the windowsill.

Luckily for Earth, Jupiter felt too tired to notice the noise he made when he ran. He took his hood off, took his black shirt and blue pants off and put them in the hamper for dirty laundry. He put his pajamas back on and collapsed into bed. Not a single second was spared where he didn’t think of her.

Chapter Text

Although it was still chilly, the ambient temperature this afternoon was slightly warmer than it was last night. The little downpour had left everything damp. The water on the side of the road where cars are parked might’ve disappeared down the drain but there were still small pools of it in the area and on some sidewalks.

Earth overheard the door close and went up to the window. He looked down towards the sidewalks and street to see Jupiter leaving for work. It wasn’t unusual for him to take evening shifts. Now that he was gone until the night, there’s nothing to stop him from doing whatever he wanted. Nothing would make him happier than to spend his evening with her.

Earth went back into his room, closed the door and approached his walk in closet. He began brainstorming what to wear and where to take Dione for the evening. No one mentioned to him that love could be beautiful yet so passionate. Tan poderosa como un rayo en un día tormentoso.

As if a lightbulb suddenly went off in his head. A decent choice though no one would think he looked like someone who owns a vehicle of its kind. Earth started rummaging around in the closet to get his gold button down dark purple shirt and black pants.

Earth knew about the nice bakery downtown. There’s a beach 15 minutes away from that as well. Plus money would “never” be a problem for Earth anyway. He left the closet and his bedroom with both doors closed. He walked into the kitchen, its shiny stone floors so cold during the colder seasons you had to wear slippers. When he made it to the door to the driveway, Earth turned the old light on.

A light blue and black motorcycle sat at the corner right next to the mini fridge. He’d ridden it whenever he’d go downtown before. This time it’s going to be a very special ride. He pressed the button to open the garage door, hopped on the vehicle and drove off.

Earth rode down the wet road, he thought about turning the radio on, but concluded to just waiting to pick up Dione from her house and leave the quiet part of town first. No need to get yelled at by other neighbors in town.

He turned a corner, passing the restaurant he had taken her to last night and drove further down the block. The other moons she lived with were currently elsewhere as well as Saturn. Earth pulled up directly in front of the house on an empty parking space. He got off the motorcycle, walked to the front door and pressed the doorbell.

During the minute he waited, Earth barely stopped thinking about her. His heart would flutter by her appearance and absolutely couldn’t wait for their evening out. Earth overheard footsteps arriving at the front door, as well as the sound of it opening.

“Earth! You got a motorcycle!!? Cool ride! I can’t wait to get on it with you. What are you doing here out of the blue?” Dione wondered, her old pajamas clearly telling him she didn’t know he was coming.

“I came to take you out. It’s a fine evening today and don’t worry, I’ll wait for you to get dressed.” Earth explained.

“Well if you’re going to wait here. I’d like for you to come inside. Excuse the mess though, there’s gonna be more baby and toddler moons soon. Mi casa es tu casa mi amore.” Dione brought up. “Thank you.” Earth walked into the house and locked the door after closing it.

“You look very handsome as usual, love the outfit.” Dione complimented. Earth looked around her house, he’d been there before, but still gets mesmerized by how much prettier her home was to his. Even with the baby and young child stuff scattered everywhere, he didn’t mind and could see how cool the place looked. Earth was careful not to step on anything, not wanting to injure himself but also not to break anything, even if it’s just another toy. He decided to sit down on the recliner in the corner of the living room and just relax or maybe read a little. Dione decided to offer him something he wouldn’t refuse.

“You can come to my room if you want. I do not mind at all.” Dione could tell what her answer to that was judging by how Earth’s face lit up.

“Heck yeah i’d love to!” Earth immediately got up off of the recliner and walked with her to her bedroom, the third largest compared to Titan’s and Saturn’s. Shared with Rhea and mimas.

Earth Sat down on her full size mattress. Dione took the top half of her pajamas off and Sat it on her dresser temporarily. This exposed her upper body, including her slim abdomen, and the turquoise, sports bra she was wearing. He couldn’t help but stare at them.

“You can look but you can’t touch.” She teased, but wasn’t joking. Dione is no one’s “yes man” or “yes woman” of sorts and the word “pushover” will never be a part of her identity. She proceeded to ask him a question.

“Where were you planning on taking me?” This question was to determine what color she would wear while she was out.

“Downtown to a bakery I once saw. Then I thought we’d go to a nearby beach.” Earth answered. He witnessed her take out a greenish blue iridescent dress with a zipper in the back and short sleeves. After dione put the dress on, Earth couldn’t help but leave a compliment.

“You know one time I overheard Saturn call you ‘princess dione’ guess he wasn’t far off. You’re like a very cute supermodel.” Earth said, he then noticed her struggling a bit with the zipper in the back.

“Mind if I help you?” Earth asked.

“No not at all! Go on right ahead I was about to ask you for help anyway.” She turned around, signaling for Earth. He sat up from her bed, walked over to her and zipped up her dress for her.

“Thank you. Do you think I should wear makeup with this? I was thinking about wearing mascara.”

“I think you’re already really pretty no matter what you wear. You can still wear it though.” Earth’s honest opinion gave her more confidence.

“Alright just give me a few and then we can go.” Dione sat on the swivel chair in front of her dresser that has a large mirror attached on. She began carefully applying the mascara while looking in the mirror so she couldn’t mess up and have to start over. If it’s something Earth enjoyed, it’s seeing her do this. Of course, he’d always wait for her to give him permission for things like that. He did not enjoy and would never do anything if it were non consensual. It made him feel disrespectful and disloyal. A couple of minutes later, she was finished.

“Like adding the finishing touches to an already beautiful masterpiece.” Earth’s honest opinion complimented.

“You are very kind, Earth.” Dione got up from the swivel chair and went over to him.
“What time is it?” Earth lifted his arm and looked down at his wrist where his watch was.

“6:28. I think leaving now is the best time. Let’s go.” Dione grabbed her keys from her bed, as well as her jacket from the closet. Earth both left her bedroom. They made their way for the entrance and locked the door behind them.

“Wait, what about safety and protection? Like helmets and stuff?” Dione wondered.

“Well the gear is in the basket but i’ll be careful! I’m not that reckless.” Earth said. Dione took his word for it, although reluctantly. She got into the back of the vehicle while Earth took the front. He could feel dione’s hands and arms wrapping around his waist and her face against his back and shoulder blades. She reached for the basket and at least took the helmet to wear. Earth soon was out of the parking space and driving off.

Earth put the radio on while speeding up a little; not too fast and not too slow. It’s like a Goldilocks zone on its own. One of their favorite songs, Sunset lover by petit biscuit played in the background while they drove off. Earth rode up and down thirteen blocks away from their homes. The small bridge was just up ahead on the slippery road.

“Be careful! I highly suggest you take a helmet too. You wouldn’t want a concussion.” Dione warned, not wanting her boyfriend to get hurt.

“I told you already, I’ll be careful. If i get hurt then that’s on me.” Earth said.

“If you get hurt Jupiter will find out and go through your belongings. He doesn’t know you own a motorcycle, doesn’t know you smoke or drink. Stop being reckless!” Dione complained.

“I’m not being reckless, it’s harmless I’m not going to get hurt and neither will you.” Earth promised.

Dione loved the feeling of wind blowing on her face. Them passing many trees and onto the bridge that leads directly downtown makes for a perfect future nostalgic memory. Earth sped up a little, but not too much. As soon as they were off the bridge, Earth turned right onto a busy road and stopped at a red light.

“Can we stop by a gas station? I need to use the ladies room.” Earth listened to her and as soon as the light turned green, he made a left turn and eventually parked at a gas station. “I’ll wait here for you and refill the gas tank.” Dione got off of the motorcycle, took her helmet off and headed inside.

Dione looked for the women’s bathroom. When she was finished, she washed her hands and dried them. She was about to leave when something shiny caught her eye. Behind one of the sink’s faucets sat a heavy, large blue diamond bracelet. Feeling lucky, she picked up the piece of jewelry and headed out of the store. Dione went back to the motorcycle, Earth just now being done refilling.

“You finished? I’d love to check that bakery out already and go to the beach. What time is it now?” She asked.

“Yes i’m finished and it’s 7:02pm we still have time on my end. My curfew is 9:45. What’s yours?” Earth wondered.

“9:45. Looks like Saturn and Jupiter think alike. Though i’m sure it varies moon to moon. I once saw Titan come home at 11 at night and he didn’t get in trouble. Typical.” Dione spoke irritatedly.

“Hey don’t worry about that. You can just sneak out like we’ve been doing already. Wait what’s that are you holding?” Earth noticed a small gold part hanging from her fingers.

“A pair heavy blue diamond bracelet can you believe it??! I found it in the bathroom. I know it may sound a little gross but it looks so pretty and it was just by the sink.” She explained.

“Cool, looks like the universe likes giving you gifts as well. Not surprised at all” Earth complimented.

Both Earth and Dione got back on the motorcycle. He started driving in the direction they came to get back to just after the bridge. Once he was there, Earth made an upwards turn and continued going straight as the many different songs played. At the end of the road just up ahead, they could both see the boardwalk and the sand as well as the water. Earth drove down the hill and made a left turn. He found another parking space just in between two cars big enough by only a smidge.

“I don’t see a bakery anywhere around here.” She acknowledged.

“It’s down at the end of the street. There are usually no parking spots down there and right here is next to the beach.” Dione understood that fully.

She and Earth walked down the street until they made it to the entrance. Dione could smell the amazing smell of freshly baked goods. They entered the bakery, the brown tables on each side of it had vases full of little lilies and roses in them.

“You wanna order yourself or should I tell them? What will you have? They have all the desserts you can find around town.” Earth said.

“Surprise me and choose.” Dione answered.

“If you say so.” Earth walked to the cashier and placed an order of 12 churros. The sweet smell of freshly made breads, cakes, cookies and more reminded him of back when he was younger he’d wake up to a similar smell of Sun baking him sweets. Nostalgia is such a wonderful yet somewhat sad feeling.

“For here or to go?” The cashier asked in order to either use a plate or a to go bag.

“To go.” The cashier, who was wearing sanitary sterile gloves as to not spread any germs, grabbed a small bag, added napkins and started placing the dessert inside. “Would you like anything to go with it?”

“Sugar cinnamon and chocolate.” Earth decided. The cashier took a container of chocolate, added it to the bag and did the same with a container of sugar cinnamon.

“That’ll be six dollars total.” Earth reached into his pockets and took out a twenty dollar bill since he didn’t bring any tens, fives or singles. After receiving his $14 back as well as his bag of churros, Earth walked back over to his girlfriend.

“Alright, we can go now.” Earth told her.

“I thought we were going to stay here and eat.” Dione told him.

“I wanted to but it’s getting a bit late. This place closes at 8 and it’s 7:32 now. I like my outings and dates uninterrupted.” Earth cleared things up.

“True, we can eat these at the beach together. I’m just glad there are accessories there. We’d be carrying much more luggage with us otherwise.” She noticed.

“That’s true. Well anyways let’s go.” Earth and dione walked out of the bakery and back up the block. Since the beach was nearby, they didn’t need to ride on Earth’s ride yet. Dione leaned her head against Earth’s shoulder, and He wrapped his right arm around her upper waist.

They crossed the street, looking for an entrance onto the boardwalk and once that was found, the two walked onto the boardwalk. “This place is so beautiful isn’t it?” Earth said.

“Yeah, it reminds me of how gentle and caring you are towards me” Dione replied.

“There’s a storage space is just up ahead. How long do you think we should stay here?” Dione wanted to know.

“We can be here for about hour and a half or so.” Earth and Dione both continued walking on the boardwalk until they entered into the space.

“It’s really nice they let people use all this free stuff at the beach.”

“People? Nah, I own this space. It was only unlocked because I left the key back at home. Everything inside is pin coded.”

“You own storage space??!! How did you even get it!?”

“Some idiot bet the space one night. Don’t hate the player hate the game is what i say.” Earth walked to a small gray table with a drawer beneath it, opened and reached in and showed her the permits and legal documents.

“That’s crazy!” Dione was shocked. Earth punched in the code on a control panel. The sealed areas opened as if it were by vocal command and not numbers.

“Wooow, it’s like an entire isle’s worth of beach items in here. Are those sand cloud beach towels?” She moved over to where she was talking about.

“Yes and it’s all for us.” Earth took a beach towel and a pair of sandals, his girlfriend did the same. They left the storage, Earth closing the door behind him and Dione as they walked out.

“Where do you wanna sit at?” He answered.

“We can just go there.” Dione pointed directly in front of them up ahead where sand and sea connect. “Plus this way we’re not walking that far from the motorcycle just outside the boardwalk.” She added. As soon as they made it not too close to the shore so the waves wouldn’t hit them. The waves overlapped gently with the shore, as well as tranquil atmosphere was able to set up a cozy evening. The beach where the golden sand met the inviting waves rolling onto the shore really made for a beautiful, romantic date. They sat down on the beach towels along with Earth placing the bag of churros in the space between them.

Earth appreciated how genuine and authentic Dione was, her presence and spirit invigorating his own. The bond they were forged together is like a dance; spontaneous yet perfectly synchronized.
Dione leaned closer to Earth, their shoulders brushing against each other, creating a familiar intimacy.

“We should go Canalling sometime. I bet that’ll be fun and relaxing!” Earth suggested.

“I like the sound of that a lot. Remember our first date when I took you to a picnic? That was mad fun, especially when we played frisbee and made sandwiches together.” Earth brought up.

“Yeah it was, remember when I had to hide in the closet because Jupiter had came home unexpectedly and it was 11pm?” Dione laughed a bit. Her laughter makes him forget the worries of life, if only for a moment.

“Yeah you had to wear my spare pajamas to sleep in and sneak to the restroom. What a night that was.” Earth remembered.

“You wanna eat now? I bet they are all still warm.”

“Sure, you may take the first one. There’s containers of sugar-cinnamon and chocolate in the bag as well.” Dione reached in and took a container of the mixture of sugar-cinnamon. She opened it and started sprinkling it all over the treats.

“Huh, I wasn’t expecting that. I thought you were just going to dump it into the plastic containers.” Earth said.

“Yeah, but i figured it’s easier this way and i’m not doing this to the chocolate as well.” Dione explained whilst opening the chocolate container. It was a simple pleasure; sharing treats, surrounded by nature, lost in one another’s appearance. Earth glanced out at the horizon, the water shimmering like a million diamonds, and thought about how perfect everything felt at that moment. She grabbed one of the warm, sugar-cinnamon coated delights in her hands, dipped it into the sweet chocolate and took a bite, her eyes lighting up with pleasure.

Earth also took one of the treats and ate it, enjoying the crispy sweetness. He couldn't help but steal glances at Dione, marveling at how graceful she looked against the backdrop of the surrounding nature.

“If you could go anywhere, where would it be? Any dreams?” Earth asked.

“Where wouldn’t it be!? I’d love to travel it’d be so fun and filled with experience!” Earth couldn’t help but mirror her enthusiasm.

“What would you do if we were ever separated?” Dione added.

“I’d run away with you. Well, only if you agreed with it of course.” Earth answered.
As the two munched on, they both savored the flavor and generosity of the sweet treat. Earth reached into the bag of churros, pulling one out and offering it to Dione, who accepted with a smile.

The sun painted the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple as it began to dip below the horizon, watching the sunset with his girlfriend felt as good as one would feel when dreams come true. Earth felt so alive, fueled by the simple pleasure of Dione's presence and the magic of the moment. Dione continued resting her head on Earth’s shoulder, giving him warmth and comfort as the stars began to twinkle overhead, setting the scene for an enchanting evening soon turned night.

“Where do you wanna go on our next date?” Earth wanted her to choose this time.

“Well…” Dione thought for a moment, lots of ideas pestering in her mind.

“I heard about this amusement and water park in the next town over. Maybe we could go there tomorrow?” She ended up saying.

“That sounds like fun. I’d love to go with you.” Earth agreed so it was officially settled.

“This evening turned night has been nothing but perfect. Only one thing to make it more romantic and sweet.” Dione took a hint as to what he meant and leaned in. Earth pulled her closer, gently and listened to her soft, small chuckles.

Earth also leaned forward, their bodies pressed together, their lips pressed together as well as they shared the lively, lovely little moment. It would be a rather quick kiss though. They quietly pushed away from one another, smiling a little.

“Best evening ever Earth. What do you wanna do now?” Dione said.

“How about a game of frisbee? I saw one inside the storage.” He suggested. The time showed to be 8:58.

“Actually, I think it’s best we just go home. I don’t want it to get too late and then we get asked where we’ve been.” Dione refused kindly.

“We can go home then. I’ll put everything away.” Earth got up off of the beach towel. He lended a hand to offer to help Dione get up. She grabbed his hand and used it to lift herself up.

The two walked back to the storage unit. Earth unlocked the items using the passcode and put the stuff back. After locking back the storage unit. Earth and Dione made their way back onto the boardwalk and started walking towards the entrance. Earth’s mind was alight with thoughts of the evening spent with Dione, his heart blooming with affection at every glance between them, ignited by shared laughter and delicious treats. The nighttime air grew crispier than earlier. Eventually, although in comfortable silence, the couple made it back to the motorcycle, onto the ride and Earth started driving.

The ride home seemed faster than the ride there. It’s probably because there were no stops to any bakeries or gas stations. Soon after the bridge, Earth decided on taking a small shortcut after driving through multiple roads through an alley that led directly to the street next to where she lived.

“You alright?” Earth wanted to make sure she wasn’t uncomfortable or anything.

“Yes, just a little tired. That’s just the result of such a good outing.” Dione answered.

“We’re almost there just right around this upcoming street.” Earth prepared to turn a corner. After doing so, he found a tiny parking spot just enough for his motorcycle.

“I know you’ve had a great date today. There is around 4 churros left with about half t he container left. Do you want it?” Earth asked, reveling in the feeling of Dione's warmth against him.

“You can have it. When do you want to meet tomorrow?” Dione wanted to know. The same feeling of warmth engulfed her.

“6:40 and we could leave by 8:40. I’ll be waiting outside for you to pick me up at 6:10 so se can get there by that time.” Earth explained, Dione offering him her hand.

“So this is it. Can’t wait to see you again tomorrow. I’ll be sure to come and get you.” Earth took her by her hand and lifted it to his lips, giving her another fleeting kiss.

“Can’t wait as well; see you soon!” Earth and Dione gave one another a warm hug. She opened her door as the two waved goodbye.

Earth hopped back onto his motorcycle before driving off to his house. The ride back wasn’t long at all since they lived so close to one another anyway. Once he arrived at his house, Earth drove his motorcycle onto the driveway. He got up off of the vehicle, walked to the garage door and pressed the button to open it. He got back on and drove the vehicle into the garage before pressing the button that closes the garage door.

Earth got off of the motorcycle and walked through the door he once came in earlier. He closed it behind him and checked his watch; “9:31pm.” He walked to his room to grab a pair of his pajamas. After a small, quick shower, he walked back to his room and got into his comfy sleepwear.
