Chapter Text

Katsuki loved holidays, he loved exploring new places, he loved being somewere new and the the feeling of being free. Without the pressure of those extras. When he could show his brother that he cared and that they could be heros together (well he would be no. 1 Izuku would be no. 2) without everyone turning on him too.

However this time he was anxious, anxious with the worry that Ma would act like that again. Like she did last time they went away. Katsuki was consumed with worry and fears that her anger would be directed at him this time.

People close to his mother, know Mitsuki was a loud and vocal person, especially when it came down to negative emotions. Katsuki knew it all too well. Despite Masaru's best efforts to shield him from it.

They were booked to go away again same time as the year before the Ist week of Easter just before his birthday. And this time Izuku was also invited.

Katsuki really didn't want to go on this trip. His mum had been bad and had an episode a few weeks before so he had to stay with Auntie Inko for the week. Whilst there he pleaded to her to ask his dad if Ma was going to be OK for the trup. He responded that it would be fine. He wanted to believe what he had been told but he gad a gut feeling it wasn't.

"Deku you have to sit in the other seat as this is mine" "Kacchan why" " I'm older that's why I'm going to be 11 in 15 days" "I know that kacchan I've known you my whole life"

They all climbed into the car and headed off. Yellow and teal rucksacks packed with all the essentials for a road trip (tonnes of All Might merch and hero playing cards).

"Kacchan do you want to watch the latest All Might movie I brought two headphones ones Sir Nighteye and the other is All Might you can choose." "I'll have All Might as I'm going to be the number one hero you can be the sidekick as your going to be one along with number two and work at my agency Bakugo " "OK Kacchan. Auntie how long till we get there" "Izuku we left five minutes ago" Mitsuku snapped in response. Izuku nodded not thinking anything of her tone. Katsuki immediately felt a wave of dread wash over him, he did not let this show he couldn't ruin this for anyone especially not Zuku. It's his 1st holiday it can't be bad.
The boys finished the movie and started chattering about different heros when they pulled up to a small restaurant on the side of the road.
The restaurant was small and was oddly decorated with copy's of old posters and propaganda from the 1st quirked war on the ceiling. They ordered food Katsuki only ordering a small meal his appetite put off by his anxiety. Izuku ordered katsudon like always scoffed Katsuki.

They were back on the road for a few hours, and even passed through the place where they filmed one of Izukus favourite hero shows. Before long had arrived at the apartment. As they had all four of them going the Bakugos decided to get a small apartment like cottage instead of staying in a hotel room this meant that they had more space and actual room for each bedroom despite the boys having to share. Not like they cared this was going to be a really fun super long sleepover.

The next day they had planned to go to a pre quirked mine and headed out to it. They arrived early so decided to have a look around the gift shop. Mitsuku waited outside saying she was going to have a smoke. They looked around the shop and izuku bought a gift for katsuki in there. But by the time they were done and the time slot was close too. Mitsuku was still nowhere to be seen. Masaru called her asking where she was as she arrived at the reception with them they picked out their helmets Kacchan with the green and Deku with the one for little children as his head is small in orange. The boys enjoyed the rest of the time there despite Mitsuku being distant.

Afterwards they had to stop at the supermarket for food Mitsuku jumped out with the dismissive tone of "I know what to get so I'll be quicker." Masaru briefly held a worried expression before calmed it to a neutral one.

Despite saying she would be quicker Mitsuku took an unusually long time in the store.
Back at the apartment, Katsuki sat on the sofa with his All Might headphones listening to his favourite band Oasis, The Masterplan when, Ma came and sat down with him and starting talking about different pre quirked bands like AC/DC especially the song T.N.T saying it reminded her of him.
However she did this instead of cooking dinner like she said she would replacing the responsibility onto Masaru.

Eating was a quiet ordeal despite Izuku trying his hardest to spark conversations. Masaru claimed to have a migraine. And with that Katsuki heading to his room as his favourite herotoker Emilytheweeb was online he put his headphones and just took a few minutes to himself.
The live was just about to end when Deku came bounding into the room a worried expression on his face and tears running down his face like waterfalls.
