Chapter 1: Le début
Chapter Text
Dead end again and again. The PADO guild secret research team had met yet another end in their endless search as some might call it to opening a closed rift. The file was tossed in the drawer with all the other similar failure files he’d gotten.
He could feel the stare from Bae Won-woo. All the same emotions that he always showed in these moments.
“What? Got something to say.”
“…”
“Continue.”
All words were left unsaid and only a sigh escaped the man’s lips. Only then did Lee Sa-young raise his head to glare at him.
“Yes, next reports about dungeon byproducts.”
The man began chattering away about the report, but Lee Sa-young didn’t pay attention. His mind still occupied by the failure files he’d gotten. An endless wait, or a journey with no end. That was okay, he’d wait forever if he had too.
A loud yawn interrupted his thoughts. The man reporting looked perplexed himself. He raised one eyebrow in question and was met with a shrug saying that it was nothing. Now that he was aware he himself also did feel quite drowsy. Which was more than unusual. Another yawn escaped the man’s lips before he could cover it.
“I apologise guild leader I have no idea why, but I am just suddenly so sleepy.”
“It’s alright.”
Bae Won-woo finished off his report with another yawn. By this point Lee Sa-young’s eyes were dropping too, he had had too stifle a yawn multiple times times.
What was this? Why were the both of them so tired suddenly. He could tell by the way the other man’s back had slouched and his eyes were dropping that he too was a second away from falling asleep.
He tried standing up, only now did the fear kick inn. Obviously something was wrong. Were they poisoned? But who would do that and how? They hadn’t shared a meal he always ate alone for the safety of others. And how could someone poison an S grade and a A grade.
Definitely not poison, then was it the system acting up. he hasn’t gotten a system message tho. It can’t be just normal drowsiness. Both of them could stay days awake. And this severe sleepiness can’t just come suddenly if natural. Before earlier today he’d felt fine.
His head dropped of were it laid on his hand, breaking him from his thoughts. Bae Won-woo was already falling asleep. A loud thud came from the collapsed man.
‘Shit.’
Another thud rang as Lee Sa-young’s head fell onto his desk. His slump form laid peacefully unaware.
——
*GASP*
Multiple gasps rang out in the room. Lee Sa-young quickly sat up. Glancing around he noticed he was no longer in the PADO guild and more hunters were also here. Bae Won-woo’s slumped form next to him slowly arose. He too glanced around before locking eyes with him.
“Where are we?”
“Huh, Gyu-Gyu nim?”
Many voice came forward. All were complexed and spoke similar lines. Gyu-Gyu the overseas mercenary was even here, he looked just as dumbfounded as the rest.
Jung Bin ever the leader helped the director first before gathering everyone. After noting that there was no real threat here.
The two civil officers made everyone list off what they’d done before they were taken here. Most ended similar shouting about some absurd sudden sleepiness.
“Matthew was grilling and then we both just passed out!”
“Was chilling talking with a customer you know and suddenly splat was hit with the most intense drowsiness I’d ever experienced since awakening.”
They all listed off the events that had happened. While that happened each hunter belonging to an organisation or guild naturally flocked together. By Lee Sa-young’s side Seo Min-gi, Kang ji-soo and a few others had appeared. They all confirmed the sudden drowsiness happened to them too.
“It’s weird, everyone suddenly just teleported here?”
“You’d think specific people only in Korea but Gyu-Gyu is here.”
“Yea but he is Korean, just overseas.”
“Isn’t everyone who is here a hunter?”
“Now that you mention it.”
Jung Bin helpfully stoped the hunters from shouting over themselves and gathered all the information they knew.
“So all top three guild leaders are here and Hb guild leader. Plus a few hunters from those guild. And Awakener management bureau worker are here too.”
“Don’t forget me!”
“And Gyu-Gyu Nim. Everyone was doing something before a sudden drowsiness and soon we all fell asleep awakening here in this movie theatre.”
“Sums it all up.”
Everyone readily agreed. The movie theatre was a standard one. They’d searched at the start for anything but there was nothing. It was completely empty. And there was no door. Not even a movie projector was spotted.
After accessing the room a few hunters had panicked and tried punching their way through the wall. But their fist all just bounced off it like it was made of gummy. They tried pulling it apart but that didn’t work. Not even an S classes strength worked.
So most after the discussion had slumped. There was nothing to do. Jung Bin did his best to make sure no one panicked reassuring them that there had to be an exit if they got in here. A few mentioned the idea that it was a dungeon. Which seemed most plausible.
After most had slumped into a chair a bright white system message appeared for everyone.
[ Welcome to memorial dungeon. ]
[ watch the future and #### #. ]
[ Memorial dungeon error! ]
They all glanced at each other before again breaking out into a discussion.
“What is a memorial dungeon?”
“ I don’t know the bureau has never encountered something like this.”
Jung Bin spoke up looking just as perplexed as the next person.
“ A dungeon that n has a name, a special type of dungeon? Never heard or read about it before.” Nam Woo-jin with his index finger adjusted his glasses. White hair brushed back behind the ears.
“A dungeon that can just take Hunters from all over?”
Ping, a new system message popped up. Getting all the attention.
[ Sit down to begin. ]
“Real helpful this one.” Gyu-Gyu laughed loudly already draped over a chair.
“Well I guess theirs no other choice?”
A few mumbled worriedly but as their was nothing else to do they sat. Every hunter sat in groups based on where they belonged. The PADO guild members gathered around their guild leader. The Awakener management bureau gathered around Ham Seok-jeong. The pattern continued for each guild.
As soon as the last man had sat down the lights went out. In pitch darkness a few took loud breaths and tried standing up. But their fellow friends and hunter stopped them holding them seated. It was quite and dark.
Glowing words appeared in the front where the movie screen was.

Chapter 2: Le hasard
Summary:
The first chapter in the novel is finally displayed!!!
Notes:
The first chapter was a bit short, apologies for that. This will definitely be longer. Also warning author is an inexperienced writer so switching between povs and hoping around, it probably won’t make much sense.
Also any idea where I can read the rest of THGLL in English. At chapter 313 but 314 just can’t be found. I know the novels not finished yet. Which honestly sucks, thought it was a short novel like mission: save the hunter. But it’s alright I am addicted.
Chapter Text
the screen swirls with light before more words appear on the side along with seemingly is a movie on the other side. Lee Sa-young mindlessly fiddled with his seat cushion. He didn’t want to be here. This time could better be spent on trying to find J. Sighing he dropped the zipper and looked up at the screen.
”memorial dungeon is a dungeon that shows you movies?” a hunter who couldn’t keep quite asked confused.
“we can’t be sure as the system did say the dungeon had an error, remember?” Another replied.
a dungeon that shows you a movie. That seems pretty useless and a waste of time. Unless this movie was gonna show him J there was no point. How do you get out of here? Normally you can get out via the opening, which was not an option. The other way was to kill the dungeon master, where was it? Watch the future was the only thing the system explained.
Wait Watch the future?
“Are we just gonna gloss over the fact that the system said watch the future?”
Lee Sa-young grumbled out. Every hunter turned towards him. The movie hadn’t even started but they were already delayed. But they couldn’t ignore that. How had they forgotten or not seen that. They’d just skipped those words and focused on memorial dungeon instead.
“wait, the system did say to watch the future!” Someone exclaimed loudly! Now every hunter definitely remembers. Gasps were heard all around and everyone turned to their partner to whisper.
”to see the future, do you think it’s like Yoon Ga-eul’s ability?” Jung Bin whispered with the director and Nam Woo-jin.
”a dungeon that shows you the future?” Ham Seok huffed out.
” Well it’s slightly different as Yoon Ga-eul sees the ruined world but this says it’s gonna show the future. This world’s future?” Nam Woo-jin didn’t even glance at the two as he replied. He continued to stare straight ahead. Yoon Ga-eul who was sat safely inn between Jung Bin and the director nervously twitched in her seat.
to be able to see their future sounded dream like. After the black hole appeared everything seemed possible but still this seems a bit far stretched. It would help them a ton if it was true. They could see about the apocalypse. Unless this showed them after the apocalypse. That would still give them some intel. As of now only Yoon Ga-eul has seen what the apocalypse could do, but she hasn’t seen much only wastelands.
”it’s impossible.”
”how outrageous!”
many hunters exclaimed their frustration at the system. When they’d all vented their pent up anger there was nothing else to do but watch the ”future”. Everyone still carried a lot of distrust towards it. And none believed it to be telling the truth.
after everything the words on the screen and the movie finally began to move, signalling that it was about to start.
“Thank you! Please come again!” With a cheerful voice from the employee, the automatic door of the supermarket opened. A young man wearing a gray hoodie and carrying a strawberry-patterned shopping bag filled with various ingredients headed towards the bus stop.
“Seems like it’s before the apocalypse at least.”
“I guess that’s good, can at least see how our world gets ruined.”
Jung Bin and the two kept talking in whispers to each other as the movie started.
“A rift has appeared at the intersection, and traffic is being controlled. Please cooperate.” The young man tilted his head at the unfamiliar scene unfolding on his usual route. Someone wearing a fluorescent yellow safety vest over a suit and a yellow safety helmet was blocking the passage, waving a red flashing baton. Over their head, the entrance of a shimmering blue rift was visible. Below it, hunters were desperately fighting monsters that had squeezed through the rift.
It seems not a lot has changed in the future. The Awakener management bureau is still running smoothly. Jung Bin thought happily his signature smile plastered on. He was a bit worried for those desperate hunters but he’s sure it would all turn out fine in the end.
”it really does look like a movie huh?” Bae Won-woo exclaimed to his fellow guild members. Kang Ji-soo was the only to reply.
”yeah, wish we had popcorn too.”
“Kyahaaa!” “Ugh! Not yet?” “Just a little more…!” A lizard the size of a car swung its spiky tail fiercely, emitting a bizarre cry. A hunter with a shield blocked the attack, but the lizard, excited, thrashed its tail around wildly, as if sweeping the surrounding area. The hunter barely managed to fend off the relentless attacks and cursed. “Damn it, die! Fireball!” A bright red flame engulfed the lizard. Seizing the moment of hesitation, another hunter shot an arrow at the lizard. The arrow pierced the lizard’s eye, causing it to writhe in agony and scream. “Kieeek!”
A few hunters happily clapped for the victory.
“Man I thought it’d show the future. This is so boring. Better than the mountains at least.” Hong Ye-seong layed like a deflated ballon in his chair. Half almost laying on the floor. Jung Bin gave him one single side glance and a huff before turning back to the screen. Hong Ye-seong wailed some more, exclaiming at last that he wanted food.
“Wow, that was awesome…” “Do not approach the barricade!” “I’m gonna record it for YouTube Shorts.” “Yeah, I’m already doing that.” People stood a little distance from the barricade, filming videos and watching.
Almost every hunter sighed. They’d all experienced civilian who just wouldn’t get back. Filming videos and approaching the fight instead. It really showed how used to this new life with the rifts and black hole we’d gotten. Humans really do adapt fast.
”hate that, it makes everything so much harder. Like film from a distance please.” Honeybee sitting next to Matthew complained. He only smiled and nodded. Fully understanding what she meant. Even sharing her opinion, of course not about the filming part. There was no need to film at all.
The young man, not joining the commotion, walked briskly. The strawberry-patterned shopping bag swung as he moved.
“Who is this?” At first they’d thought he was just another civilian. But the screen has followed him from the start and the words have repeatedly mentioned stuff about him.
“Is he like the protagonist of this movie?”
”The protagonist of the future?” Sounds absurd. Who even was this, nobody recognised him. If the movie follows him he must be important but nobody knew who he was.
As he stepped into a deserted alley, he encountered a gigantic figure blocking the narrow path. A purple toad was rummaging through a pile of trash and turned its head sharply toward the young man, sensing his presence. A long green tongue flicked out of its mouth, snatching up an empty plastic bottle and swallowing it. It was clearly a monster that had leaked from the rift.
Hope he is a hunter. Jeez what was the civil officer workers doing letting a monster slip past into civilian area. A few showed their worry but were quickly calmed down.
”if this man really is the protagonist then he must be a hunter, and a strong one at that.”
Many agreed with that. Maybe he was just an unknown hunter, they’d be able to recognise him based on his abilities.
“Damn those rift management guys. Can’t they do their job properly…” The young man grumbled, rummaging through his shopping bag and drawing out something long like a sword. From the soft curved tip to the straight stalk and the solid root at the bottom. In his hand… was a fresh green onion.
“Yeah Damn those workers.” Gyu-Guy snickered loudly gaining all said workers who worked for the bureaus attention. Noticing the attention he’d gotten he only laughed louder at them. They all glared venomously at him.
”this won’t happen again, I promise.” Jung Bin ever the saviour and leader he was stepped forward to take responsibility. The workers all turned towards him with smiles a relief.
Now that he knew that something like this would happen he just needed to find out where and he’d be able to stop it. Also maybe he should increase the training so nothing like this would happen else where.
when the man started searching his shopping bag a few laughed. Who keeps their weapon in a shopping bag? And what weapon even was that. When the man pulled out a green onion half the people fell out of their chairs laughing.
“ He’s gonna use an onion as a weapon!”
” HaHaHaHa!”
“ Wait, Wait maybe his abilities has something to do with vegetables or plants?”
The toad croaked and turned towards the young man. Each step of its heavy legs shook the entire alley like an earthquake. The young man carefully set down his shopping bag, skillfully twirled the green onion, and gripped it firmly.
“Oh man hes really using it like a weapon!” The laughs persisted.
is he a hunter? He seems confident so he must be. But what the heck, why is he using a green onion as a weapon.
even Lee Sa-young snickered a bit behind his gas mask. This was certainly not what he expected.
Then, He leapt onto a trash can lid and soared like a butterfly— Whacked the toad’s head with the green onion! Bam!! The clear, sharp sound of impact echoed loudly in the alley. The toad, unable to even let out a death cry, flipped its eyes and trembled all over. Sadly, the center of its head was deeply indented in the shape of the green onion.
Wow definitely a hunter. Soared like a butterfly? When he whacked the toad with the green onion the people who had gotten up from the floor once again fell laughing and even cried tears of laughter. When the toad was reveals to have gotten an green onion indent they couldn’t help but bawl.
who the hell was this dude. Beating a poison toad with a green onion.
”well he’s definitely strong and a hunter.” Nam Woo-jin helpfully informed them of his observations.
”yes, you quite right.” Jung Bin smiled happily. Even he wanted to snicker the scenario was hilarious and outrageous. But this didn’t really reveal his abilities so they still had no idea who he was. Alas he was relived the man was alright.
The young man caught his breath and dusted off his hands. As the hoodie slipped off from the recoil, his cool face was revealed. “Green onions are expensive… What a waste.” He squatted in front of the toad, stuffing the remnants of the green onion into its mouth with his bare hands while taking out his phone. After some time, when someone answered the call, he spoke. “He- Hello… There’s a dead monster in the alley here. It looks like a hunter killed it and just left…”
When his face was revealed a few complimented his looks. He certainly was handsome.
”that’s all he has to say? Onions are expensive?”
“Man who is this dude!”
the way the man had just killed a toad with a vegetable and was acting like this was normal, just another day? Lee Sa-young was a bit surprised. He was certainly interesting but was it worth wasting time over watching him. No.
”in the mouth it goes.” What the hell.
“It’s good that he’s at least calling the awakened management bureau.” A worker happily sighed just relaxing down from his burst of laughter a moment ago.
And the he spoke.
not even a mouse could be heard.
“Why is he acting like someone else killed it?” Kang Ji-soo asked perplexed?.
“you don’t think he’s..”
“…”
” An unregistered hunter it seems. Haven’t had one of those inn awhile.” The director Ham Seok spoke calmly. Jung Bin sitting just a seat away from her nodded.
”man future protagonist Is playing a vigilante?” Honeybee grumbled with a sigh. Really most hunters disliked people who did this. And now they’re watching a movie about one.
for Lee Sa-young this just made the man more interesting.
The young man’s voice trembled at the end, as if he were scared and even on the verge of tears. However, unlike the voice that seemed as if it would faint at the slightest touch, his current actions were indifferent. “This is the alley going to Deukero Mart… The monster? It looks like a toad, but it’s too big and gross to see clearly. Please handle it. Yes, no need to contact me… Uh, you’ll be here in 5 minutes? Thank you, no problem. Yes, thank you…” The young man sniffled and ended the call. Even after hanging up, he remained crouched, shoving the green onion pieces into the toad’s wide-open mouth.
“He’s a good actor at least?” A few snickered at that.
Jung Bin too was surprised by the acting he was seeing. No wonder the man hadn’t been caught.
“Scared of the toad and he just continues to stuff its mouth with an onion.”
a few grumbled a complaint about him.
Despite claiming the monster was too gross to look at, his eyes were fixed on the toad. Five minutes until the hunters arrive. ‘It’d be troublesome to encounter them.’ The young man stood up and erased his footprints from the trash can lid. The toad seemed to have died instantly with only the green onion-shaped dent in its head as an injury. With no other traces left, it would be hard to track down the person who dealt with the monster.
“just look at him! Acting all scared.”
he really knows what he’s doing. Erasing his footprints and all. He was correct with no evidence they wouldn’t find him. Not only could he act but he could hide his traces. Well sadly for him but they were seeing the future and now he was caught.
”he’ll have to pay the price.”
“Maybe I should make a weapon that looks like a green onion. That would be fun and cool. Really unique. What do you think Vivian servant?”
Hong Ye-Seong blabbered on about his new idea to all those around him.
”No. I’ll turn off the internet again.” He warned.
“GASP, no please I wouldn’t do it. I promise. It was just a thought, a passing thought!”
Having cleaned up the evidence, it was time to flee. The young man picked up his shopping bag, lightly bounced a couple of times in place, and reviewed the phone call he had just made. ‘…Should I have sounded more shocked when I reported it?’ Well, it was too late to regret it now. The young man easily jumped over a wall taller than himself.
You shouldn’t have sounded shocked at all. Instead report the truth. A few sighed at the man.
”wait we can hear his thoughts?”
”…”
“Your right we do hear his thought!”
”that’s so weird.”
”what a breach in privacy.”
Jung Bin felt apologetic towards the man. No one deserved to have their thoughts get shown to the worlds or read.
“He’s skilled I’ll give him that.” Honeybee now munching on toasted squid spoke up.
”Yes, definitely experienced.” Matthew replied handing a guild member another roasted squid.
*** “Is this the right alley?” “Yes, it is!” A few minutes after the young man leisurely disappeared, two people arrived at the scene— a man and a woman wearing fluorescent vests over their shirts. The urgency on their faces melted away upon seeing the toad’s corpse. The woman, Yang Hye-jin, an A-grade hunter from the Rift Management Bureau, gasped as she looked at the toad with its tongue sticking out.
“Hmm?” A worker hummed hearing a familiar voice. Who was that again. Jeez his memory is getting bad.
Yang Hye-Jin who was in the room gasped too.
”it’s me! Look team leader!” She happily pointed at the screen. Jung Bin snickered at her reaction before looking up front.
“Wow, this is insane.” “Why, ma’am? Let me see… Whoa.” The newcomer, who had followed closely behind, was startled and whispered to his senior. “Wow… Can someone really take down a swamp toad this cleanly, ma’am?” “It doesn’t make sense. This thing was taken out in one hit. If you’re even slightly off in timing, it sprays strong acid everywhere. It’s a nightmare, melting buildings and people alike…” “It’s really impressive.”
it was insane. He took the toad out with a vegetable.
”that newcomer? He’s not in the bureau yet yes?” Ham Seok glanced over at Jung Bin.
”no not that I remember.” He answered.
it was really impressive. The clean kill made them mad that he was an unregistered hunter at the same time it made them a little happy he had to pay the price.
”definitely experienced.” Seo Min-gi mumbled next to his guild leader.
The newbie, once again in awe, straightened his yellow safety helmet that had gotten crooked in the rush. Yang Hye-jin, with a sharp look, inspected the surroundings and gave instructions. “Check if there’s any trace left. Someone this skilled is no ordinary person.” “Yes, ma’am!” The newbie rummaged through the trash can and the surrounding garbage. “Whoever did this… They did it so cleanly that the post-cleanup isn’t difficult.” “Right. It’s so clean we could donate this to the monster research team. I wonder why such a skilled person didn’t dispose of the body and just left.”
“You won’t find any traces.” A hunter mumbled.
”Yeah no luck there.” Yang Hye-jin grumbled. At least they could donate it. And there wasn’t much to clean up which was always a plus. Who wanted to clean up a poisonous toads substance.
“Said skilled person is an unregistered hunter.”
Speaking sarcastically, Yang Hye-jin put on white gloves and opened the toad’s thick mouth. Toad-type monsters swallowed anything that touched their tongues and spat out poison or strong acid. A helpful toad, like in fairy tales, was a unicorn in reality. In any case, it was necessary to check thoroughly as the toad might have swallowed a person on its way from the rift.
Well at least she was doing her job. Jung Bin inwardly sighed still smiling tho. But what was that about a unicorn?
Yang Hye-jin took out a flashlight and inspected the inside of the toad’s mouth. Fortunately, she found no human remains, just a few partially melted plastic bottles. Relieved, she sighed. “Looks like it didn’t swallow any people…” Meanwhile, the newbie, using a radar-equipped device to scan the alley, called out to Yang Hye-jin with a distressed look. “Ma’am, whoever took down this toad must be a real pro. There’s no trace left.”
Many sighed in relief at the news. their attention was once again peeked at the mention of the green onion man.
”what grade do you think he is?”
“I’d say B or A.”
He’s definitely a skilled hunter. Which ment he’d been doing this for awhile. Jung Bin sighed at that thought. That they were unable to notice an unregistered hunter just said they were untrained and unprepared.
”Guild leader what grade do you think..” Bae Won-woo whispered to the man.
“A.” Said man didn’t even spare him a glance.
Yang Hye-jin, dusting off her hands, tilted her head. “They must have used their ability, right? No trace of it? Look carefully.” “I’m looking! But there’s no sign of any ability or any trace. Nothing at all.”
“wait they did t even use their ability right?”
”yeah?”
”so was that just their bare strength?”
”Oh Shit your right. Damn he must be an A grade. Why would he not register then!?”
“What, did they take it down barehanded?” Although she accidentally guessed close to the truth, unaware of this, she shook her head. “Phew, must be another of those hidden strong ones. Why are there so many hidden powerful hunters? Cartoons and novels have ruined everyone.”
really close but so far. The answer was green onion. A few top hunter secretly wondered if they could do that to. Take out a monster with a vegetable.
‘should I try..’ Honeybee was thinking hard about it. Would it be good for her image? It’s much easier to just use a weapon.
Matthew who notices her thinking so hard handed her a grilled squid. Which she unconsciously started nibbling on. He snickered behind his hand secretly.
yeah why are there so many hidden hunters. The internet truly ruins everyone, beware kids.
After turning off the flashlight and getting up, Yang Hye-jin stretched to relieve her tired body. “Anyway, a 4th-grade monster came out, but it didn’t eat anyone or destroy any buildings, so we should be grateful. Let’s take the toad and head back. You write the report today.” “Yes, ma’am. Who should I list as the one who dealt with the monster?” “List it as unknown.”
they were grateful. With no damage how could t they be grateful. What if an unawakened citizen was the one who had found the toad. That would be a horrific scene and they’d have to clean it up too.
“Understood. By the way, ma’am…” “Yeah. What?” The newbie, looking awkward, asked. “Do you smell green onions?” “…Now that you mention it?” Sniffing around for a while, Yang Hye-jin shrugged. “Maybe the toad picked up some green onions off the ground. Anyway, we’re going to have dinner together after work, right?” “Yes. The usual place?” “Yeah, the hangover soup1 restaurant.”
“I wonder why?”
”probably because someone stuffed its mouth with green onion.” A few grumbled and huffed. But still they couldn’t help but snicker at the memory of what had happen.
”Hangover soup restaurant?” Yang Hye-jin mumbled confused. She didn’t remember ever going to one. Maybe it was a newly open one. Must be really good if it was a usual.
” Why are you going to a hangover soup restaurant. Are you drinking on work night?” One of her coworkers picked at her.
”What no. I know better than that.”
“I want food!” A pitiful wail came from the floor but most ignored the man lying there. Jung Bin could only glare at the man who was yet again causing a scene.
*** At that time, in an old, decades-old hangover soup restaurant… —I’m against this marriage! —Father! How can you say that! —Actually… You two are siblings! “Oh dear…” The old brown TV was showing a rerun of ‘Couple Clinic: Love or War’ on a cable channel.
“what the hell?”
”Oh wow what a switch up.”
HAH! Many gasped at the words that were spoken. What the heck is this tv show.
Where even was this. The hangover soup restaurant that Yang Hye-Jin mentioned maybe?
Someone, sitting in the prime spot where the screen was clearly visible, was peeling garlic with their eyes fixed on it. —Don’t scold the kids! You’re no saint either! —Mother-in-law, don’t intervene! This is about my child’s marriage! —I never intended to reveal this secret, but given the circumstances, I have no choice. The truth is… we’re siblings too!
“jeez what is this crap?” Honeybee grumbled out loud. Finally broken free from her thoughts.
”certainly a very old show?” One of her guild members mumbled, she nodded agreeing.
“wait that man..”
“The mother-in-law and son-in-law are siblings?” The busy hands dropped the garlic they were holding. Without paying attention to the next scene, the person came to their senses to find a bald lawyer declaring, “See you in four weeks,” and announcing a mediation period. The hands, which had been stiff as stone, only started to move again with a rustle after a few commercials had passed.
“It is him. The onion man!”
” What a coincidence am I right Hye-Jin?” Her coworkers laughed happily at her misery.
Once a considerable amount of garlic peel had piled up, the body that had been sitting down stood up straight. “Taking out the trash~” The voice, humming a tune while looking for the trash can, was slightly low but pleasing to the ear.
“weird song but his voice is quite pleasing.” A few female hunters happily chirped.
was this their future protagonist, a hangover soup restaurants part timer? Lee Sa-young and many other top tankers were very confused.
The figure walked across the hall with long strides, although he was significantly taller than average, his head did not quite touch the ceiling, so there was no difficulty in moving. The young man, having thrown out the garlic peels into the trash can, glanced at the clock. There was still a little time left before the evening shift began. His gaze drifted to one corner of the shop, and he momentarily frowned. “Ah, I should have hit it with something else…”
“really paying attention to detail here system.” A Samra guild member spoke up.
”Oh you’re here too. You’ve been so quiet I didn’t notice you Song Jo-heon.” Ham Seok the director coldly smiled in the man’s direction.
”Oh apologies there was just nothing to say.” The man smiled back with a reassuring smile. Everyone knew that was fake. Senile old man. Said man only snickered at their glares.
With a sigh, the young man tidied up the area where he had been sitting and headed toward the door. He took down the break time notice and casually tossed it to the spot he had been eyeing earlier. [Ingredient preparation time from 2 PM to 5 PM.] Underneath the haphazardly discarded sign lay a crumpled strawberry-patterned shopping bag, completely empty.
“Is it over? Can we go home now?”
“that gave literally no information.”
many hunters complained and stood up stretching their body’s.
that can’t be it? Jung Bin, Nam Woo-Jin and the director were confused along with a few other top rankers. They had learnt literally nothing from this and it was over. Lee Sa-young only scoffed. What a waste of time.
[ Starting next chapter ]
[ Chapter 2 loading please wait ]
what. Chapters?
”wait how many chapters are there?”
”we don’t have time for this.”
Jung Bin agreed there were many other things to do. All prominent figures in Korea were currently here. They had thing to do and needed to get back.
[ Please sit back down ]
”No hey we need to leave!”
Hunters started pulling out their weapons and getting ready to fight.
[ No fighting allowed. You will return soon ]
[ No need to worry about time as time goes differently in the memorial dungeon ]
”What Time moves different here?”
“How’s that possible?”
what should we do? We can’t escape, how many chapters are there? Fear soon crowded their minds.
“Don’t worry. We will get out. Koreas top rankers are here do you think we can’t escape?” Jung Bin stepped up reassuring everyone. They slowly sat down getting comfort from their friends. But the fear didn’t dissolve completely. It lingered in the back of their minds.
