Chapter 1: ⋅ ─ Prologue; Power cuts and Babies
Chapter Text
♰ ⋅ ─ Prologue; Power cuts and Babies
- On the way to CADMUS | 9;00 am | Metropolis, New York -
Lex knew that putting a lab close to the border of both Metropolis and Gotham wasn’t the best idea, however it was the only place that was just out of both the bats, and Clarks range… He had set up a small number of connections in Gotham’s underground so he thought that maybe it would help.
It didn’t, he wasn’t going to try and even look at the joker never mind set up a connection with that thing… He hated anything to do with harming children giving his own childhood and the Joker really seemed to find pleasure in his deed of killing the second robin; which meant he had no leverage to stop the Joker from doing anything.
So, as usual, and with most things that go wrong - it was the joker’s fault.
The clown had caused a power outage that stretched to CADMUS labs, which would be fine for any other lab as they all have massive back-up generators that kick in after a minute of the power being off but in CADMUS that minute could mean (possible) project failure.
So now, Lex had to travel all the way to the outskirts of Metropolis to the lab, praying to a god (any of them will do he’s non-theistic), that his project hasn’t failed.
- CADMUS labs | 9;30 am | On the edge of Metropolis, New York -
Lex was exhausted, he really needed to stretch his legs… he hated long car rides he barely got any work done thanks to all the road bumps (he’d have to fix those) and then he just ended up scrolling social media. Turns out Brucie got another kid, just kind of took the neighbours (which Lex thought was quite funny, he’d never liked the Drakes).
Upon, finally, arriving Lex decided to cut any pleasantries with the man sent to greet him because by God he wasn’t about to have this fail after already sinking billions, upon billions into it.
So, cutting any hope of politeness out of the picture, he immediately demanded to see the project he had spent so much on.
“Ah, y- yes sir, right away sir… follow me,” he stuttered at Lex’s demand, the man was weakened by insecurity as he hunched over making himself smaller, fidgeting as he spoke.
Lex immediately deemed him pathetic as he followed the shy man down the long hall way and winding corridors; the scientist carried himself as if he was a direct opposite to Lex himself. Lex was a smart man, and he knew it; he carried himself with confidence, and prestige never so much as glancing at anyone deemed insignificant to him or his goals.
Once reaching the actual lab area, Lex immediately spotted a small boy sat on what appeared to be an examination table. The boy seemed no older than two as he looked around with sparkling eyes - amazed at his surroundings.
“This, sir, is project K-13b, due to the… power complications he was let out of his pod well… prematurely. He appears by all tests to be around 18 months old, which is obviously not the fully grown man we were hoping for. However, in light of this, next time that does mean”
Lex tuned the man’s babbling out, instead looking down at the small boy who looked so much like him and yet not like him at all… The child was adorable, with bright emerald eyes, and thick brown hair that held golden and ginger strands, so much like Lex’s before the incident. The boys’ arms were outstretched as if he knew immediately that he was Lex’s own.
The next few moments felt weirdly out of body as he moved without thought as he lifted the child up, examining him slightly as the small boy giggled at his bewilderment before he placed the child firmly on his hip, holding him close.
Lex tuned back into the scientist’s words just in time to hear, “So, after we dispose of K-13b we can start on a new model - this time with almost guaranteed success,”
Lex froze as he heard the word ‘dispose’ - how could they possibly dispose of a child? This wasn’t like the ‘failed’ attempts before in which the ‘models’ died in embryo or naturally (which they did try to save). This was a living breathing child.
“No” his words were sharp and assertive, cutting through the other man’s words as the other man in question froze at the remark, sputtering slightly coming up with excuses to justify the idea of ‘disposing’ of K-13.
“But. But sir, with the kryptonian DNA it would be impossible to put him in a standard children’s home or in any form of adoptive or foster care as his powers developing would”
“I said no. How about I dispose of you for even suggesting such a thing,” Lex starts, immediately halting the other mans stuttered though, half thought out excuses as he then continues,
“As long as this child has my DNA, he is mine. Alright? You’ve succeeded, this is a success. The project is over, I will send new data and new project assignments soon. Alright?” Lex loomed over the man, his words remaining sharp and purposeful as the child looked up at him, with curious wonder.
“Ah, y- yes sir, of course sir… I apologise, and will await new orders”
“Good” Lex ended, instructing Mercy to get all the files on K-13 before they left. Oh, and just to punch the man in the gut - just for good measure so he never suggested anything so idiotic again.
Car ride back to Lex’s penthouse | 10;12 | Metropolis, New York
On the car ride home, Lex sat the boy on his lap and began to think of a name. During his arranged marriage to a now ex, they (for the sake of family duty) spoke about the possibility of having a child. Which didn’t happen as the second Lionel Luthor died the two promptly split.
He remembers only every really licking the name ‘Conner’ - the name had multiple meanings however the reason they liked it was its derivative was from an Irish word meaning ‘Justice’ the name seemed suitable for the young boy as he technically had superman as a parent.
Not that, that particular point mattered if anything he was essentially a DNA donor for Conner…
Conner Luthor, sounded as if it was missing a piece which reminded Lex that his family usually gave their children a middle name honouring either a parent or grandparent, which promptly led to Conner’s full name becoming ‘Conner Jonathan Luthor’ as by God he wasn’t about to name his son after Lionel.
Lex held the boy tightly to his chest during the car ride telling the young boy his new name, and that he was Conner’s father; whispering about how nothing would ever hurt him again, and he was safe, as the young boy drifted off to sleep.
He wasn’t sure where all of this had come from, if anything he felt as if he was on auto pilot since laying eyes on the child. Hit by what could only be described as a semi-truck of ‘paternal’ instincts (it was 100% maternal but who was going to actually correct him? His staff, Lex thinks not).
Lex’s penthouse | 11;11 | Metropolis, New York
Upon arrival at the penthouse, Lex set Conner down on the sofa - grabbing the Tv remote before taking out his phone and looking for a good show for kids. He settled on ignoring his phone as Conner was already in front of the TV pointing to ‘Bluey’ which seemed fine. The show was a cartoon in which a family of bright anthropomorphic dogs went about their life, seemed perfect.
“Wait here, alright Conner, I just need to get my laptop”
-
Lex begins shopping, occasionally asking Conner what he’d like for his room, and the things he’d want to play with, and he’d settled on jelly cats being his favourite type of plush (expensive taste just like his dad).
Once everything was ordered (express delivery) Lex grabbed a blanket from a cupboard, draping it over the pair opting to order in food for himself, and once it arrived, made Conner some fruit snacks, and a sandwich.
-
Just before bed, Conner seemingly not knowing how to exactly speak so far began to attempt to; “D- Da” his face sent slightly red as he tried his best to say the words his brain was desperately thinking of, “Dad-a, Dada” He smiled, brighter than any sun Lex had ever seen which the man noted that his son definitely got from Clark.
“Well done, baby” he praised, giving the boy a small kiss on the forehead, putting him in the pajamas he’d sent Mercy to retrieve earlier.
“I love you, Conner,” Lex adds laying down next to his baby, which still felt so strange… his baby…
“Luv you, Dada” Conner snuggles up to his dad, drifting off into sleep making Lex’s heart swell.

Clark finds out about Conner

♰ ⋅ ─ Chapter 1; Superman vs. the adorable nature of baby Conner
Set 2 months after the prologue - Conner had developed his speech rapidly with the help of Lex and the fact that he had the DNA of two of the smartest people on the planet | Clark had been off world for 3 months and has only just arrived home a week before this.
-
Clark has been suspicious of Lex recently, he’s heard another unfamiliar heart beat (of what seems to be a child) with Lex - obviously he only listens to Lex’s heart beat for safety reasons, not because he cares about his childhood friend who he misses dearly, no that’s stupid, shut up.
So, what do you do when you hear a small child with your childhood crush- enemy? You visit, obviously.
-
Lex’s penthouse | 16;00 / 4;00 pm | Metropolis, New York
In Lex’s apartment, Conner was watching Tv as Lex finished his work for the day - over the last few months while raising Conner he opted to work from his apartment, it made virtually no difference other than he wasn’t in an office now. He actually, with the motivation of spending time with Conner, finished his work a lot faster.
“Dad!” Conner smiled up at the man, as he sees the man enter the living room.
“Hello, my dear,” Lex smiles softly, remembering how his own mother always opted to call those she loved ‘my dear’, he remembers her calling him ‘dear’ or ‘darling’ when he was Conners age, quite vividly and loved that he could share that with his son.
“How are you?” he asked, sitting down next to his son, which even after a few months felt surreal.
“I’m ok, just watching Bluey, since I finished the docu- docum-” he struggles through the bigger word his face contorting, making Lex chuckle slightly before helping him out,
“Documentary”
“Yeah, documentary” Conner says, his smile reappearing
“Was it good? It’s one I’m quite fond of myself”
“Yeah, the sloths were my favourite! They showed two toed sloths, there was one shown swimming to find a partner, it was so cute” he says sharing the story, beaming, holding onto his newly arrived jelly cat, Bartholomew bear, who he’d dressed in a little scarf.
Before Lex could respond they, both turned their head as they heard a knock at the window,
“Hey, dad. Why is superman here?” Conners smile faltered slightly as the boy’s face twisting to one of confusion…
“I- genuinely don’t know” he says brows furrowed as he looked over at the idiot at his window. God how did he ever call that man a friend… never mind actually liking him.
-
After letting Clark in, still dressed in his ridiculous spandex, which Lex defiantly didn’t find attractive- you’re crazy…
Clark explained how he heard a second heart beat next to Lex’s that seemed to be a child’s, making Lex annoyed and very tempted to break out the big K, however Conner was here who would also be affected - possibly worse and that was a risk he wasn’t ready to take. But seriously, who does he think he is listening in on not only Lex’s heart but now Conners… acting like he even cares- God it’s absolutely ludicrous.
Lex then explained how Conner was his son, and also kind of Clarks, explaining how Conner came to be and how he was Lex’s son, and nothing else. He was perfect and Lex truly cared for him…
-
“So, superman is my other dad?” Conner looked between the two men, wide eyed, as they both whipped their heads around - almost forgetting that he was here.
“Oh, erm… I’m not so sure about that.” Clark said, stumbling over his words like a fish out of water, clearly (in Lex’s eyes) trying to fain responsibility which was fine, Lex didn’t exactly need Clark.
“Oh.” Conner’s face fell, upon hearing the news, “So you don’t want to be my dad?” he continued, fidgeting with his hands, as Lex kneeled down to comfort the small boy… Okay, maybe Lex didn’t need Clark but Conner sure did. Hearing his own father say he didn’t really want him.
“Don’t worry about him, my dear, you’ll always have me. I promise, everything will be ok” he says softly, placing a small kiss on Conners forehead, much like his mother did with him when he was upset.
Then turning to look up to Clark who was stood there stunned at the sight, babbling his words, trying to explain himself. Conner buried his head in Lex’s chest as Lex held the small boy in his arms, lifting him up with him as he rose back up to meet Clarks eyes.
“I suggest you leave, Kal.” His voice colder than Clark has ever heard it, a sharp anger filled tone replacing his usual way of speaking which was (mostly) devoid of all emotion.
The stark contrast between his usual tone, and the one he uses to comfort Conner was enough to make Clark think he’d been possessed, but hearing the sharp words then really hit him; this was different to any time Clark had ‘foiled his plans’, it felt more personal, more real.
“No, I- look I’m sorry, Conner. I’d love to… be your dad, I’m just a bit confused since I’ve only just found out about you. I promise I’ll try my best to make it up to you.” He gives the boy a small, sheepish smile, praying that he understands…
Conner turns slightly, looking over at Clark,
“I don’t know if I want you to be my dad, you seem mean.” Conner says, sniffling as he lifts his head.
“Look, Clark, he may look 2, but he’s barely a month old. You need to either use that ‘kryptonian brain’ of yours and process it, or just leave - I will be billing you for child support though.”
“No. I- I want to be part of Conners life, I just- this is a lot.”
“Dad didn’t have a problem when I came out wrong, why do you?” Conner says, almost sounding guilty for even existing.
“Oh, no, Rao, no Conner. You haven’t come out wrong, look at you, you’re perfect, I care I promise, I’m just…” he trails off unable to find his words; ‘why can’t I just speak I have a journalism degree’ he can’t help but think, internally screaming.
Lex cuts in upon realising Clark is at least trying, “hm, don’t worry Conner, my dear, your Pa’s a bit stupid. Why don’t you give him some time, he’ll love you almost as much as I do,” he makes sure to use ‘pa’ as that’s not only what Clark called his farther, but also because they can’t both be dad if there really gonna do this.
Conner giggles through the sniffled tears, covering his mouth with his tiny hands, and Clark stares at him like he’s the next coming of Christ, so it does seem like they are doing this. Clark chuckles slightly at the sight, with that dopey grin of his as Lex rolls his eyes at him… he missed this.
“You know, Conner, if you’d like I could give you a Kryptonian name, since you’re half Kryptonian. Help connect with the culture a bit.” He says really hoping he can bond with his son.
His son. Oh Rao, he has a son - a son who is half kryptonian.
A son who shares his culture, a son which means he’s not the last of his kind, a son to share everything with, a child he never thought he’d be able to have.
He felt like crying, an overwhelming feeling washes over him, as if he just found home for the second time in his life. He can’t wait to show Conner the farm, and to Ma.
“Hm, is that ok, dad?” he says looking up at Lex with expectant eyes,
who simply replies with “Whatever you want, if it makes you happy you can have a Kryptonian name like your Pa,” both Clark and Conner smile the same, making Lex weak - God his son, and-
-
Clark feels his heart swell upon hearing the words ‘your Pa’ in reference to him. He’s a father, he’s a Pa oh my, his heart feels as if its growing 10 times over, he wonders if Lex is the same - maybe it’s why he’s tolerating him, having a kid might’ve turned the man soft.
The thought was sweet, a softer Lex holding onto Conner - their baby. Rao, he felt like he was on cloud nine.
Clark snapped out of that, it was a ridiculous thought, clearly his mind was just being mean, playing tricks - it was stupid to even think like that. Lex would never want that… Never want them to be a family… never want what Clark so desperately had been wanting since he first met the man.
He looked at Conner thinking about how he’d somehow incorporate his more human name into the one he is about to bestow him with…
“Ah, I’ve got it,” he starts earning him identical raised eyebrows from the pair in front, it would have been adorable if it wasn’t for the fact that Lex has tried to kill him on multiple occasions - ok maybe it was still absolutely adorable and made Clark so happy he had an eidetic memory, he’d defiantly be looking back on this, and probably swooning. “Kon-El as in K-o-n and then EL”
“Hm, what do you think? Could be a nice nickname I suppose, Kon…” Lex started looking over at Conner who was still in his arms,
“I like it,” Conner adds after a small deliberation with himself.
“I’m really glad you do, maybe one day I could take you to the fortress, or maybe my family’s farm, where I grew up”
Conner immediately lit up, completely forgetting he was supposed to be mad at Clark, “You grew up on a farm? That’s so cool,” the young boy grinning ear to ear turning to Lex continued, “can we dad? Can we go some day?”
“Oh, as long as Martha is ok with it” he really doesn’t want to, but his boy is so happy he can’t help but agree - it’s his fault anyways, he put on all those David Attenborough documentaries over the last few weeks.
-
Clark quickly ran home, changing into something more casual that he didn’t mind getting a tad dirty from whatever Kon wanted to do.
He was having a million thoughts at once; he was finally not alone but he also had to share that feeling with Lex of all people - he wasn’t sure how to feel, but even so he felt that no child should have to grow up with only one parent if the other can step up, and he can.
He feels responsible in a way, he didn’t exactly ask for this, but sometimes that was life, it seemed that it was somehow fate - he loved Kon already, and that was his son whether he liked it or not (he did). He needed to be there for him.
-
Lex’s penthouse | 17;00 / 5;00 pm | Metropolis, New York
The two older men sat on the sofa with Conner sat in between them talking about what he’s been doing, showing off some of his drawings, and showing Clark all of his different plushies/toys.
“Barty is my favourite, isn’t he so cute?” He says, holding his bear up to Clark showing him off.
“Awe, very cute” he couldn’t help but smile softly as he looked down at Kon, and then glancing slightly over at Lex who was looking down at their son… Rao, their son- the other man looking over fondly as he ran a hand through the toddler’s hair. This was perfect, all Clark had ever wanted…
“Can we play a game, please?”
Lex smiled down at Conner, proud that his boy was already so polite, “Of course, dear, what would you like to play?”
“Erm… I’m not sure. I’m just bored- and kinda hungry…”
“Hm, how about we get you some dinner and then we can see about going somewhere or playing a game”
“Ok, dada” Conner beamed, making Lex’s heart swell even more so…
Chapter 3: Chapter 2; ‘Please… don’t cry dada…’

Clex hurt/comfort <3
Chapter Text
Chapter 2; ‘Please… don’t cry dada…’
Age’s; Lex, 30 | Clark, 28 | Conner, 2 years physically and mentally / 7 months out of the pod
Conner is classified as a prodigal child and therefore his speech and mind is advanced (but still very much a two-year-old)
Authors note; Krypto is a support/therapy dog - if he is to aid Clark as superman, he needs to be able to get into places as a regular dog, yk? So, support dog Krypto.
It had been a few months since Clark had met Conner, and now they were quite close. He and Lex had also been repairing their old relationship as well which was very nice, Clark felt like he was falling in love all over again… He’d been visiting the two everyday or so, bring Krypto over or going on dog walks with them. They had been having lunch together, and Clark tended to spend his lunch break with the two at a small café or restaurant close to the daily planet.
He loved Lex so, so much, he really was enjoying being friends again, and was now just yearning even more, all over again.
Lex’s penthouse | 13;00 / 1;00 pm | Saturday | Metropolis, New York
Conner was feeling particularly bored, especially with his dad busy cooking… Maybe he could call papa and ask him to bring the puppy over. Conner absolutely adored Krypto, he was a fluffy white dog and always very playful, which made Conner really wanted to play with him.
“Hey, dad, can we call papa please?”
“Hm, alright but if he doesn’t answer then don’t phone again, ok? I’m not sure if he’s at work or not. Here ya go” he hands Conner his phone, as it dials Clarks number;
(This is the easiest way to write calls, ok, just bear with)
Clark; Hey, what’s up?
Conner; Hello, papa!
Clark; Oh, hey Conner, are you alright, baby?
Conner; Yeah, can you come over to dada’s house?
Clark; I can do, darling, just need to go to this meeting then I’ll come over, yeah?
Conner; Ok papa, bring puppy, please
Clark; Alrighty will do, baby, see you later, ok?
Conner; Bye, bye papa
Clark; Bye love
Lex’s penthouse | 15;00 / 3;00 pm | Saturday | Metropolis, New York
Lex sat Clark down after putting Conner down for a nap since he’d spent around an hour chasing after Krypto…
“Look, we need to sort all this out,” Lex began, taking a short breath gathering his words as Clark begins to fill with dread.
“Yeah, I know… I just” he mumbled slightly, fidgeting with his hands as Lex continued…
“I know, but we can’t just keep dancing around this. It’s important for Conner he needs something more stable. I get that this is routine now but we need something properly set out, and not just this” he gestures between them before starting up again, “I just want him to have a proper childhood, and I know that’s going to be a thousand times harder when his powers manifest properly, that’s why we need to sort this now”
If you told Clark a year ago, he’d have a son with Lex Luthor, and that Lex had slowly grown a real conscience, beginning to care about people other than himself he’d laugh at you, but now. Now, he was looking Lex in the eyes (kind of) seeing the man express what can only be described as raw emotional devotion to their son, their boy. Wanting the best for him…
It felt so right, like the Lex he knew before he was corrupted fully by his father.
Lex was cut off by Kon wondering over, pulling on Lex’s jacket making Clark smile softly at the innocence of their little baby.
“Hey, Kon,” Lex started up again, gently lifting Conner up onto his lap holding him close and brushing the hair out of his face, “what’s up, baby, shouldn’t you be asleep?”
“I wanted to ask something… I’ve been confused about it for a little while”
“Hm, what’s that?”
“Why aren’t you and papa like the parents on TV? You aren’t married like any of them- are you not together?”
“No, baby” Lex began to form an explanation as Conner added in,
“Sorry if that was rude… I just, wanted to be more… normal?” He sounded so unsure of himself, looking up at both Lex and Clark with wide eyes - it broke their hearts to see Kon like this.
“We are together. That’s that what we were talking about.” Clark blurts out, clearly not knowing what he was saying as his eyes go wide, cheeks flushing bright red as he realised what he said before looking Lex straight in the eyes like a dear in head lights… he just wanted to help conner feel better, why did he have to go and ruin his chances with Lex…
Lex can’t help, but admire that Clark was just doing anything to help his son feel normal.
“Exactly, just wondering how to tell you that…”
Lex kept up the lie, as Conner lit up assuming the rest of Lex’s sentence and, asking “Is papa going to live with us now?” he was basically vibrating with excitement, bouncing his knees slightly.
“Oh, only, if he wants to” Lex added, very unsure of himself, slightly worried at this new found lie… Sure, it was what he wanted and was secretly hoping for by the end, but his hopes were for it to be real… not some elaborate lie to help Conner feel better.
Lex’s (and now Clark’s) penthouse | 17;25 / 5;25 pm | Monday | Metropolis, New York
After a long day, Clark was so happy that his apartment was now closer since moving in with Lex and Conner it was a massive relief to him since he couldn’t just fly straight out of the place.
He felt like he was on the top of the world coming home to both Lex, his now fake partner - which won’t be fake for long, because Clark has a plan… or he will make one when he can decide on how to navigate this - and his son. He was still reeling over that; he has a son. It felt so perfect, like everything was just falling right in to place.
Until he walked through the door, Lex’s penthouse was lined with a thin veil of lead so he couldn’t hear or see in before actually opening the door, to a crying Lex as Conner tried to help his dad. Clark felt his heart break as he saw the scene… feeling almost guilty for having a good day while Lex was sobbing.
“Papa, come help, dada’s upset” Conner’s face was full of concern as he ran over to Clark who picked him up, giving the boy a small kiss on the forehead.
“Don’t worry, love, I’ll sort it out. Why don’t you go play while me and dad talk and then I’ll come get you and all three of us can watch a movie once he feels better, okay?”
“Okay, papa, please make dad better”
“I will, love don’t worry” he kneels down, placing Conner on the floor giving him one final kiss to his forehead and watching as he runs off to his room before making his own way over to Lex.
He sat down next to a crying Lex who was sat with his head in his hands, elbows rested firmly on his knees before Clark placed a gentle hand to the man’s shoulder… Lex looked up to Clark, sitting ever so slightly back as Clark began to slowly move him onto his lap, holding him close.
“I’m sorry” his voice was small, and weak in a way Clark had never seen it before, and if he could help it, he’d make sure he never had to again - never wanting Lex to be this upset again.
“What for?” Clark makes sure to stay gentle as he places a hand to the back of Lex’s head, rubbing soft circles into the man’s scalp using his thumb.
“I’m so, so sorry” his voice hitched again before he continued, “I’m sorry for all the pain I caused you. I- you- you didn’t deserve that - I was just scared” which made Clarks heart shatter all over again, he loved Lex, he forgave him long ago- never really blaming him in the first place… he never could, never bring himself to blame Lex.
He kisses the top of Lex’s head, “I’m sorry for the hurt I’ve caused you as well…” he adds in a soft whisper, hoping to comfort the man, which seems to work as Lex stretched his arms around Clark before properly nuzzling into the crook of his neck.
“I hate this.” Lex’s breath goes shaky again, pulling away from Clarks hold slightly, still sat on the other man’s lap just now able to look him in the eyes as he continues…
“I hate that I can’t be as good as you - all I ever wanted to be was the son my father wanted.” He sighed, “and I took it out on you because- well… you were always so perfect, you had a nice family, and then when you became superman it just felt like it was just the world was just throwing me a big ‘fuck you’ as if to say ‘you’ll never be as good as them’. I know that’s stupid, and that’s just… god I hate talking about this sort of thing.”
Clark smiled, happy to see Lex finally expressing his emotions rather than the usual of pretending they don’t exist, softly cupping his face as Lex looked up at him with widened eyes - he placed a gentle kiss to his forehead.
“It’s ok, I promise - it’ll all be ok” he whispered, barely audible but in the softest of tones, one full of devotion. With that the two fell into a slow rhythm of small, gentle kisses…
Lex placed his forehead firmly against Clarks, “We need to go get Conner, someone promised him a movie” before giving him one last peck and pulling away, “And grab a couple of blankets please”
“Hm, popcorn too?” Clark tilts his head slightly, reminding Lex of the fact Krypto does the same thing… adorable.
“Yes, that would be nice, thank you…”
“Of course, anything” Clark presses a soft kiss to Lex’s forehead before leaving to adhere to his ‘demands’.
-
The three of them, sit cuddling on the sofa watching a couple of Disney movies before Conner drops into a peaceful sleep in Lex’s arms, both Clark and Lex bring the young boy back to his room - kissing him goodnight and leaving the young boy to rest.
Lex makes two warm cups of hot chocolate as Clark takes Krypto out for a final walk before the two men head to bed. Both (finally) in Lex’s room…
-
The two sat, Lex leaning his head on Clark’s shoulder as they sipped the hot chocolate, he had made only a few moments prior while Krypto settled for the night in his own dog bed which Clark had moved into Lex’s room, and to the foot of the lavish bed. (Lex was firm on his 'no dogs on the bed' rule even with Clarks puppy eyes)
“One more movie while we drink these?” Clark’s voice remained ever gentle, which Lex wanted to thank whatever god was out there for because it somehow always managed to bring him comfort.
“Hm, yes please…”
“Hey, Lex?” Clarks voice now full of anxiety which admittedly also scared the billionaire beside him, who just hummed dreading whatever Clark was to say next…
“What are we?”
“What would you like to be, Clark?” he looked over, dread retreating from his body, and smiled at the farm boy.
Clark was trying his best to hide the pure bliss he was in as Lex smiled at him, the same way he used to… but now Clark actually noticed the love in it, sure he had always liked Lex but never felt as if it was reciprocated, and now that it was - well he was seeing all the major signs; all signs pointed towards cloud nine for him.
Clark brushed his lips against Lex’s, “I wanna be with you… properly, and be a family with Conner,” he whispered before closing the small gap - kissing Lex.
As the two part, taking a second before opening their eyes - foreheads still pressed against each others; Lex mutters, "I want to be better for you both..."
Lex’s (and now Clark’s) penthouse | 1;25 am | Metropolis, New York
Lex wakes up to small nudges on his arm as Conner stares at him with tear-stained eyes, which immediately broke the man’s heart - he hated seeing Conner cry, it hurt him so much. Despite wanting to wrap his arms around Kon and hold him close, he was unfortunately stuck…
“Hey, dear, what’s wrong?”
“Nightmare, can I stay here?”
“Hm, of course can you wake papa up for me, I’m a bit stuck…” he asked which made Conner giggle slightly at the revelation of Lex being fully trapped by the kryptonian who had wrapped his arms around Lex - which was great, until like that moment he woke up and needed not only to help Conner but also go to the bathroom…
“Papa” Conner nudged Clark, who stirred slightly before waking up after the second poke from his son.
“Hm, Conner?”
“He had a nightmare, just needed him to wake you up so I could move a bit.” Lex explains stretching as he stands up - getting on his robe, and giving Conner a quick kiss on the forehead before walking over to the en suite bathroom.
“Come here, Kon, why don’t you tell me what the nightmare was about?” Clark gestures for Conner to join him in a hug - which Conner happily complies, he loves hugs from his papa, they were warm…
“I don’t know, I just woke up really scared, and I just- I don’t know.” He says, tears falling down his face, as Clark’s brows furrow slightly as he pulls his baby close.
“Shh, it’s okay, don’t worry my dear, I’ve got you” he whispers to Conner through multiple soft kisses as he runs his hand through the boy’s hair, “I love you, darling”
“Love you, papa” Conner’s tears begin to stop as he sniffles making the last few tears fall, and allowing Clark to wipe them away from his face, kissing his forehead. With that Lex returns, the three exchange ‘love you’s before all cuddling up, and falling back into a soft sleep.

Chapter 3; Business partners; old and new | Part 1 - old
Summary; despite Conner being 7 months out of the pod (around 3) Lex is yet to do an official interview about it, although (as expected) some photos were taken of him and Conner out…
And, Lex launches a new scheme to help different charities across the world.
Luthor-Kent penthouse | 7;05 am | Metropolis, New York
Clark wakes up to the sun peaking through the blinds of his and Lex’s room, making him yawn as he peals Lex off of his body and gets up to start the day. Putting on a robe Lex bought for him (matching Lex’s own, if you ask, he’d call it a coincidence but Clark knew it wasn’t) sliding on a pair of slippers while stretching his arms up making his back make a small ‘pop’ sound as it went back into place in a very satisfying manor.
He went out into the kitchen, grabbing flour, eggs, milk etc, to make his two favourite boys some pancakes. He loved how domestic his life had become, it was peaceful - a nice calming existence. Maybe when Conner got older, he and Lex could maybe have another baby… more of a baby, baby as much as he loved Conner, he wanted to be able to have the whole first steps or first word experience…
Shaking the thought, that was maybe too far ahead… He began to mix the pancake batter, humming a song as he heard Lex waking up.
Clark yawns as he stretches slightly, his shirt lifting up slightly as he watches the pancakes brown in the pan, beginning to smell delicious.
He feels a presence behind him as his shirt lifts slightly as Lex wraps his arms loosely around Clarks waits; his forehead resting on Clark’s shoulder. Lex mentally thanking Martha Kent for teaching Clark how to cook.
“Morning to you too, baby” Clark smiles, chuckling slightly, as he flips the pancakes, glancing over to Lex.
“Hm” Lex muses as he tightens his grip, “Morning” he mumbles as he gently kisses Clark’s neck, soft and sweet…
Conner stumbles in, tiger in hand, rubbing his eye as he is drawn towards the sweetened smell of his father’s cooking, “Morning dad, morning,” he yawns before finishing, “morning, papa”
“Morning, love, pancakes will be ready in a moment”
“Ok” he mumbles, as Lex helps him up onto one of the breakfast nooks stools in the kitchen, pushing his hair back slightly kissing his forehead smiling down at him as he sits next to him.
The three eat breakfast in relative silence as they enjoy the company of each other as they are too tired to speak too much. Before they all get ready for the day, Clark getting ready for his work at the planet, Lex for his multiple meetings, and Conner just getting ready for whatever he was doing today.
Luthor-Kent penthouse | 7;35 am | Metropolis, New York
“Hey papa,” Conner looks up at Clark, “Can I come with you? Dad’s job is boring, when its meetings.”
“Well, I can ask if I’m ok to…” he says, pulling out his phone - fully ready to try for his son,
‘God I’m never gonna be immune to his puppy dog eyes’
He phones Perry, asking for permission; luckily, he allows Clark to bring Conner as he is only editing a few articles. Although, Perry does go on for half the phone call about ‘why didn’t you mention a child’.
“Ok he says yes, but I can’t lie my job isn’t very fun either” he warns Conner, knowing if he doesn’t, he’d probably complain.
“It’s ok, I just wanna go outside a bit” Conner smiles up at his papa, just happy to go out.
“Alright buddy, I’ll go let dad know, ok?” Clark ruffles Conners hair before walking off to go and talk with Lex.
“Alrighty” he smiles up at Clark, rolling on the balls of his feet as he waits for his Papa to come back.
Nana Mei's Coffee shop | 7;50 am | Metropolis, New York
The two send their day walking to the small coffee shop Clark and Lex have been going to on dates, and sometimes with Conner - the woman who ran the place absolutely loved Conner giving him some treats sometimes.
“Awe, if it isn’t my favourite little man - Hello, Conner” the old woman behind the counter cooed as Conner came up smiling, waving slightly at the woman.
“Hello, Mei” Conner replied, all the kids around the area had taken to calling her ‘Miss Mei’ as her name was Merilyn Lin (her parents clearly didn’t think that through…)
“Hello, Miss Lin” Clark greeted, smiling at her as she handed him the usual two coffees, “Thank you, Conner could you grab my wallet out of my pocket, and pass Miss Mei a note with a ten on please”
“Ok, papa” Conner grabbed Clark’s wallet, “Here you go, Miss Mei” he added giving her ten-dollar bill.
“Keep the change,” Clark says, placing both coffees’ down - taking his wallet back, putting it into his pocket as Miss Mei hands Conner a small juice box and a cookie.
Conner takes the juice box, and cookie; he smiles thanking her, as the pair leave, making their way to the daily planet building.
The daily planet | 8;15 am | Metropolis, New York
Conner happily sat swinging his legs at his pa’s desk as he sipped on his juice box while Clark spoke to some woman Conner didn’t recognise; short black hair framing her face as she raised an eyebrow looking over at Conner.
“And who’s this? You babysitting Smallville?”
“Ha, no. this is Conner, my son. Kon this is Lois Lane, she’s one of my friends.”
“Hello, miss Lane” he beams up at the woman as she coos slightly finding the small boy cute as he continues eating his cookie.
“We aren’t you adorable… Wait.” She pauses realising what Clark had said, “SON?!” she shouts, catching the attention of nearly everyone.
“Sorry” Clark shrugs sheepishly as Lois pulls him into a small office room, “Ah, just wait their Conner, don’t move”
“I- erm…” Clark just splutters out nonsense for a moment before taking a deep breathe, and explaining that Conner was his biological son from an experiment by Lex that went wrong in the best possible way. He sat explaining basically everything, with Conner and Lex.
“Damn. That is. That’s a lot.” Lois’ eyes widen as Clark takes a breath realising, he hadn’t taken one through all of that.
“I know, I’m sorry it’s just we haven’t actually told anyone about Conner, except Ma, but she has only called since we haven’t had time to go down to the farm… and those who do know are just bystanders from us going out with Conner. They don’t actually know he’s ours.”
“Hm, ok. I want an exclusive though when you do announce it.”
“I’ll talk to Lex…” Clark mumbles slightly, shifting under Lois’ glare.
“You better, hiding your child for nearly a year!” Her hands now placed firmly on her hips as she furrows her brows ever so slightly.
“To be fair I haven’t known him the entire time. Lex was pretty good at hiding him for the first two months or so”
“Yeah, yeah” she waves her hand, gesturing her disinterest at Clarks excuses.
The rest of the day was spent with Conner chatting aimlessly to either Clark, Lois or Jimmy; who he had taken to calling ‘aunty Lois’ and ‘uncle Jimmy’ which the two of them found absolutely adorable and now took their titles with pride.
Conner was enjoying his time (for the most part, some bits he found boring) plus they even got to fly back home, well Pa did with Conner in his arms, and then back for Lois.
They spent lunch with aunt Lois because she wanted to talk about shovels, or something, with his dad, Conner didn’t really understand. However, dad was not happy, Conner assumes it’s because he doesn’t like shovels for some reason… weird.
Luthor-Kent penthouse | 18;45 / 6;45 pm | Metropolis, New York
Lex had received news of Bruce Wayne, an old friend and both business partner and rival of his, had bought the majority stock of the daily planet, buying the company out as the new owner… So, in classic petty rival fashion - he plans to buy out the Gotham Gazette. If Bruce was buying in Metropolis, he’d buy in Gotham; it was only fair, plus that’s how their friendship worked.
So, Lex sat up grabbing his laptop from the bedside as Conner sat next to him doodling horses on his iPad as he was preparing to see his ‘nana’ (Martha) next week and wanted to show her his animal drawings. He really did get Clarks ‘farm boy’ genes which never failed to make Lex smile thinking about it.
Lex types up a multitude of emails setting out his plans to Mercy and then some drafts to send to the CEO and current majority shareholder. Just as he finished writing his final email, Clark walked in…
His brows were furrowed, and looked like he’d just had a very explosive argument with someone, which was very confusing for Lex since all Clark had done is gone to a JL meeting.
“Something happen?” he implores, putting his laptop away and pulling Conner close into a small hug, giving Clark room to sit and vent.
“I just- it’s batman, he’s” Clark trails off as he changed out of his suit and into some pyjama bottoms and a slightly oversized jacket, “I know it’s paranoia and like I can see where he’s coming from but like- it doesn’t make me feel many better, you know?” he rants, forgetting to actually tell Lex what the initial problem is just making the man even more confused as he nods along, arms loosely wrapped around Conner. Conner opts to rest his iPad on Lex’s arms so he could both stay in the embrace, leaning back slightly, and continue to draw.
“What did he actually say, though?”
“I told them about Conner…” Lex’s brows furrow slightly at the realisation, but Clark continues, “I know I’m sorry, I just- they were planning to go up and confront you, since you’ve quote ‘been quiet’, which yeah, but you know how that goes… And so, I said you were just focused on something right now, then they got suspicious and I just. I’m sorry.”
“Clark it’s fine, I understand. Hey Conner why don’t you give papa a hug he really needs one right now”
“Ok, what’s wrong, papa?” Conner asks, wide eyed looking up at Clark as he sets down his drawing tools and melts into Clark - with the man burying his head into his son’s loose curls, kissing the crown of his head, for comfort.
“Nothing baby, just a bad day. I’m alright, why don’t you tell me what you’ve done today, yeah?” With that Conner goes on a small talk about his drawings and how he and Lex had spent the day mostly together talking to aunt Lois (Lex finally does an official interview), going shopping and then coming home and watching some nature documentaries.
He also explained how they saw a whole section of the shop that was just superman merch, saying how lex said he’d have a plushie made because the ones in there were ‘cheap’.
Prompting Lex to ask for the licensing to make JL merch which would really boost their reputation and it would re-invest into either the watch tower maintenance or go towards charity. (Clark will be bringing that up at the next meeting because if a small plushie can help kids get clean water then they should do so, right?)
One Week Later | Luthor-Kent Penthouse | 10;00 am | Metropolis, New York
Clark sat in relative peace as he and Conner sat working on the boys writing, both standard and cursive (as Lex insisted, he be able to do both). As his phone buzzed, he quickly asked Conner to write the alphabet again as he took the phone call, realising it was Diana.
“Hey, Di, how are you?”
“Where are you? The meeting was supposed to have started 10 minutes ago.”
“What? I didn’t realise we had one today, I’m a bit busy right now” Clark tires to explain as he looks back over to Conner who was sat writing.
“I understand but we’ve heard some news. We think you need to be here.”
“Oh, right. ok, I’ll be there soon” he ended the call on that as he turned back to Conner, realising it was time for him to finally meet the league, which after last week’s thing he wasn’t exactly wanting Batman to meet him… not just yet anyways.
“Alright, Conner baby, we need to go out. I have a meeting I really need to go to and Dad’s too busy to be able to watch you, ok? I’ll grab your tablet so you can draw… can you get your slip-on shoes on?”
“Ok, papa.” Conner smiles up at the older man, putting the cap back on his pen - putting his papers in a small pile, before waddling off to get his shoes, shouting; “ready!” as Clark comes out in his superman attire.
“Papa, why are you superman right now? Are we not having a meeting with aunty Lois?”
“No, were gonna go see the justice league. So were going to go see some super heroes, and papa is going to have a meeting with them.”
Conners eyes go wide as he smiled up at Clark, “wow” in awe, excited to meet ‘real superhero’s’ which Clark wasn’t sure how to respond to… Anyone would think with the way Conner spoke about hero’s he wouldn’t have one of the most famous ones as a dad…
Clark just chuckled upon realising, his son hadn’t actually seen him do anything ‘as superman’ that he didn’t really do as Clark - he used his powers in the penthouse and it was just standard for Conner to see.
The Watch Tower | 10;25 am (EDT) | Orbiting the earth, Space
“Clark, when you said you were busy, I didn’t realise you meant - I know that Bats brings his kids sometimes, but like they’re his… Whose child is that?” Wonder woman asks, her brows furrowed in slight confusion.
“Mine? …. I’ve not just stole a child…” he says, exasperated, as Batman pipes up;
“Is that the clone?” he asks, as he holds his hand outstretched as if hiding something, which Clark quickly realised was a small boy - around Kon’s age.
“No, this is my son - Kon-El,”
“Yes, your clone.” Batman repeats as he shelters the boy holding onto his cape further.
“No, my son. He isn’t a clone, he has 2 parents, and 2 sets of DNAS. The only thing separating him from your sons is the fact he was born in a lab,” Clark’s face stays stone cold as he stares down the bat.
“He has a point, B. I think you should listen, clearly Superman feels strongly towards, Kon. Sorry, you said his name was Kon-El, correct?” Diana states, placing a hand on Batman’s arm as he turns to look at her, his gaze softening at the young boy in Clarks arms.
“Yeah, this is Kon,” he bounces the boy on his side slightly, “He’s currently 3, so should - if my own childhood is anything to go off - develop his powers in the next year or so” Clark smiles, looking down at his son.
“Oh, that’s wonderful. Hello, Kon, im sure you will soon be a formidable warrior,” she smiles ruffling the young boy’s hair,
“Thank you, miss wonder woman” the boy smiles at her, beaming with pride as he looks up at her - making sure to make eye contact just as his dad taught him to do in business meetings.
“Well, aren’t you so polite” she says,
“Thank you, dad taught me to always be polite - especially in bus- buz- business meetings” he smiles, slightly furrowing his brows slightly as he struggles through the pronunciation of his words.
“Really, you taught him about business meetings? Never thought I’d see the day that supes works in an office” green lantern (Hal Jordon) added in as he overhears the small boy’s words. Before Clark can respond Conner adds,
“No, not papa, my dad. He works in a big office,” Clark just grins as he listens to his son talk about his partner with stars in his eyes as he clearly shows his admiration for Lex,
“Yeah, he does” Clark smiles softly, looking down at his boy, kissing the side of his face placing him down.
As the exchange between Hal and Conner was taking place, Diana was whispering to Bruce about how he should just let Tim and Kon-El play while they started the meeting, nobody else has a problem so him having one is just ridiculous as the boy is like 3. With Bruce relenting, saying that Tim can go say ‘hi’ to Kon.
The two younger boys began to colour and talk about their families as they sit at a smaller, coffee, table that the Bruce originally added for a nine-year-old Dick - which was now just labelled as the ‘bat kid table’. The JL first agreed that the ‘bat kid’ table would have to be renamed to the ‘Batkid and Kon’ table as they needed to include the latest ‘mini-me’ of Clark.
Bruce ended the meeting, apologising to Clark stating that he was just concerned and should have spoken to him before making harsh assumptions… Clark did appreciate that and accepted the apology, understanding Bruce was trying to work on his anxiety. And luckily for Bruce he now had Hal to help him with that, as the two finally realised their ‘un-requited’ feelings were in fact requited a month after Hal moved into the manor… (he lost his apartment when on a space re-con mission and Bruce offered him a place to stay in exchange for helping with the kids).
> Spin-off Fic with step-dad Hal trying to handle Brucie Wayne and his kids? Maybe… Possibly? LMK what you think!
Notes:
Next chapter; Lex and Bruce fund a 'merch for charity' scheme in which they sell JL merch (of all kinds) to raise money for various charities (Each JL member picking their own charity and the proceeds to their merch going towards that one).
Ideas for the charities - lmk what you think
Superman; water for children in impoverished countries
Batman; housing first
Wonder Woman; Saving and supporting trafficked women
Green Lantern; Aid for people in war torn countries
Green Arrow; Funding rehab centers and general help to end addiction in young people (I hate that he was made into a shitty dad and just want the arrows to be happy - He should have talked to Dinah about it and worked on a plan to help. idc what anyone says. Cheap angst and plot points made by writers who are too afraid to show 'their favorites' taking accountability is always something i hate)
Aqua man; Eco-conservation in the ocean
Flash; Medicinal (specifically Cancer) research
-
Not JL (yet?) but still get merch bc yk - vibes
Nightwing; Trevor Project (LGBTQ+ - aiming to end suicide in queer youth)
Kid Flash; Help for children in abusive households
-
Sorry that was long, just wanting thoughts on if any should switch or change (please provide a reason tho)

Metropolis was setting up for a ‘5-years of superman’ celebration which by a strange coincidence fell on the same weekend as Clark’s birthday which was on the Friday. (Wonder how that happened - Lex suggested the date).
Lex wanted to, in celebration of the both ‘5-years of superman’ and Clark’s birthday do some good and set out to call a meeting with Bruce Wayne. His old friend and current business partner to set up a ‘merch for charity’ scheme in which they sold merch of each of the JL members and donated to a charity of the members choosing with the funds made from their specific ‘character’ on.

((During Lex’s meeting | This is the Friday before Clarks birthday))
Clark and Conner were spending the day together, as Clark changed his employment terms to only being part-time at the planet (Monday to Wednesday) - despite Lex’s suggestion of just no longer working, he insisted he loved his job and wanted to keep doing it although appreciated Lex’s willingness to care for both him and Conner.
He loved being able to spend time with his son, it was peaceful.
Until today…
Conner had begun developing his powers… yippee.
It had started as a regular day, until he sneezed while the two were cuddled up on the sofa; the young boy ended up barrelling through the air, fully floating as he wiped his nose, not even noticing that he was, in fact, floating - his nose crinkling as he begun to notice himself floating.
Clark gasped as he saw Conner flying up in the air, floating up to him and pulling him close, peppering him with kisses, “Ah, baby, you’re flying” he chuckled through kisses as he praised Conner, making the boy giggle.
“Like papa,” Conner smiled, “Like when papa is superman” he adds, holding onto Clark as the two float down.
“Yeah, can you try and do it yourself now? Or do you wanna wait and practice with daddy?”
“Hm, try and then show daddy. So, he can see how good I am, later…” Conner decided, knowing Lex would find it so much better with him being super good at it.
“Alright baby, just jump up and try to relax” he explained as Conner closed his eyes, taking a small breath before jumping slightly. His feet floating above the ground as he opens his eyes again.
“I did it!” the boy beamed, so bright, Clark thought he was looking at the sun.
“Yeah, you did, I’m so proud of you” Clark smiled, so happy that now he really does get to share his own culture and powers with Conner. Thank God they had set up going to Smallville later tonight (after Lex’s meeting) because he was going to need some tips - sure he had the powers but he never actually raised anyone with them.
The two spent almost the whole time practicing Conners new found flight, along with them realising he had some form of telekinesis; Conner practicing floating his plushies with Clark cheering him on.
Lex arrive home, with Bruce and Hal behind him; their kids tailing behind (Dick, Jason, Cass, and Tim) as they continued to talk.
“Hey” Clark beamed over at them, the sun personified, making Lex want to melt, “Conner, c’mon, why don’t you show your dad what you’ve been practicing” he says, looking over at the boy, catching just about everyone’s attention…
“Ok,” the boy says, closing his eyes for a moment. He jumps slightly, floating as Lex’s eyes grow wide; Bruce’s kids all gasping as they watch Conner demonstrate his powers. He then shows how he can float his toys as well - before beaming up at everyone, very proud of himself.
“Oh my, well done, baby” Lex smiles, congratulating Conner.
“Hm, very good, I’d assume your mother will be helping out?” Bruce asks,
“Oh definitely, were going down to Kansa’s later, cannot do this alone” Clark jokes, as he looks over to Bruce; as the kids begin crowding around Conner thinking his powers are incredibly cool.
| Lex’s private plane | 16:20 / 4:20 pm | Metropolis, New York |
On Lex’s private plane, the two of them lay in relative bliss as Conner naps with Krypto, snuggling up to the puppy like a living teddy - as he rested his head on the dog’s fur. Conner, and Krypto laying on the end of the bed as Clark, lays his arm around Lex as the other man lays his head on Clark’s shoulder. Holding onto Lex’s waist, tracing circles using his thumb - attempting to calm the rigidness of his body.
“You know, despite flying all over the world I’m still anxious about planes…” Lex admits, looking up at his partner with a soft look, unable to even look anxious when Clark was looking at him with so much love.
“Nothing bad will happen as long as im here, how about you go to sleep; I’ll keep you safe, promise” Clark’s eyes somehow soften more under Lex’s gaze as he presses a small delicate kiss on the crown of his head, pulling him closer; placing his chin on his lover’s head as Lex fell into the man’s chest wrapping his arms around Clark’s waist as the other man traces his hands up Lex’s waist to comfort him like he was warming up the man - as if he wasn’t already wearing a thick cashmere jumper.
“Hm, make sure Conner is ok.”
“He’s fine, baby, he’s sleeping with Krypto still.”
“Ok… hm, sleep now.” Lex mumbled into Clark’s chest as he hummed slightly before falling into soft rhythmic breathing as he fell asleep.
| Kent Farm | 18:30 / 6:30 pm | Smallville, Kansas |
Once on the ground they all pile into a sleek white Porsche as they make their way straight to the Kent farm.
Martha had just finished setting up for the visit, taking a fresh warm pie out of the oven as she takes off her apron, dusting herself off as she looks out the window to see a clean white car that looked incredibly out of place - Lex’s car.
She walks over to the door, slipping on some shoes before going out to greet the three.
Clark, and Lex get out of the car, lex stretching slightly as Clark helps Kon out of his seat, before opening the boot for Krypto to jump straight out off, barrelling around full of energy - almost knocking Conner over as the young boy giggles at the scene.
“Ma!” Clark exclaims upon seeing his mother, “How are you?” he asks giving her a warm hug.
“I’m alright, dear, I think you forgot to mention a dog.”
“Oh, right sorry. I’ll explain in a moment, inside.” Giving her a pointed look, before turning to an incredibly nervous Lex who was attempting to distract himself by putting Krypto on a leash; Clark leans in sightly to his mum, “Me, and Lex got together, so he’s nervous” making Martha chuckle slightly at the sight of the stone-cold business man on edge as he picks up Conner.
“Martha, good to see you,” he smiles, a genuine warm smile, “Conner say hi” he urges the small boy in his arms, bouncing him ever so slightly, “Hi, nana”
“Awe, hello my dear” her tone immediately telling Clark that Conners going to be spoiled by her, possibly more than he is with Lex - making him smile, knowing Kon was going to have a good time here the way he used to…
Once everyone was situated at the dining table, Conner was having trouble reaching; “Would you like a pillow to sit on, dear?” Ma asks him, “Hm, yes please, nana” he replies making Ma Kent coo slightly, “Such a polite boy” she says - pinching his cheek gently making him laugh.
Before Martha is able to return, Conner decides to try and grab something a little further way through his struggle he huffs - turning all the food to ice, making his eyes wide as Clark is a mix of excited and worried, and Lex is just stunned holding his hands up.
“Oh, my. Clark, I thought you had more control than this, is something wrong honey?” Ma says, assuming her son had iced her dining table, worried he was distracted, not blaming him for the sudden temperature drop (as long as it wasn’t lasers, she couldn’t handle more out of control lasers).
“It wasn’t papa, it was me, sorry Nana…” Conner says, his body slightly ridged as his eyes welled up with tears, not understanding what was going on.
“It’s not your fault, my love” Lex attempts to comfort him, as young boy looks up at him tear stained cheeks, “don’t worry, I can always buy nana a new table” he continues placing his hand on the boy’s shoulder before continuing, “Sorry Martha, we realised Conner started developing some of Clark’s powers so to speak earlier today… was planning on telling you over dinner. But it seems there was more than we thought”

Lex woke up early the next morning, grabbing his laptop as he began writing more ideas from his meeting with Bruce. Clark stirs slightly, kissing Lex’s side as he wakes up - yawning as he nuzzles the other man making him chuckle.
“Morning, my love” Lex starts, smiling down at Clark.
“Morning” He mumbles, voice deep and groggy with the morning - making Lex bite his lip as he goes red at his partners voice…
“C’mere…” Lex whispers, slightly, making Clark get up; the two began making out, with Lex thanking the lord that they both had led lined rooms, and a lock. As Lex’s work was immediately ignored as the two continued... with Clark reaching over to the bedside table's draw.
Grabbing a condom...
