My brother writes a fanfic

Summary:

Mercury asks Sun about the other systems.

Sun tells him about one and decides on travelling there with the help of Astrodude. What they don’t realise is that the machine they used has consequences.

They meet old friends and new ones.

However this story doesn’t follow the planets. It follows someone else. (After a few chapters you’ll understand.)

Don’t question the plot. My little brother came up with it and wanted me to upload it as he is too young to have his own account.

Chapter 1: Solar System to the Proxima Centauri System

Chapter Text

The solar system was at peace. The planets were talking, trying their best to respect the designated orbits. Mercury was chatting away with the Sun.

“Hey Sun?”

“Yes Mercury?”

“Are there… any other solar systems in the Milky Way?”

“Well there is the Proxima Centauri system!”, he said so loudly that Mercury’s eardrums hurt.

“Oh… Cool…”

“AND WE ARE GOING TO THE PROXIMA CENTAURI SYSTEM!!”, he shouted in excitement.

Mercury sighed. Once Sun agreed on something, it was hard to change his mind no matter how irrational the thing was.

“Wait what?!”, Pearl said. She was in an astronaut suit and nobody knew what she was doing out here.

“Who are you?”, demanded Venus.

“I’m Pearl, you idiot. I’ve been with you for a long time now…”, she rolled her eyes, “How did you forget so fast?”

“Excuse me pipsqueak?!”, he growled, “I’m sorry that I forgot someone as useless as you… There? Happy?”

Pearl grabbed her axe which was also floating in space and smacked him with it.

They didn’t notice that while they were fighting a new celestial body was approaching.

“Hey guys!”

“Who are you?”, asked Pearl.

“I’m Proxima Centauri B! I’ve been travelling for a long time to get here!”

“Oh… from the Proxima Centauri system?”, Mercury was about to ask but he got interrupted by Astrodude.

“Hey guys!”, he greeted.

“Hi Astrodude!”, all the planets greeted back.

“We finally made a machine that allows us to travel astonishing speeds! It allows us to travel 4.3 light years per hour and we can attach it to planets!”

“Woah!”, the Sun gasped, “We can use it to go to the Proxima Centauri system.”

“But we are gas giants, we don’t have solid surface!”, Jupiter said, approaching the others.

“Why is everyone out their ORBITS!”, Sun screamed.

“B-because w-we wanted to see what was happening!”, Saturn defended.

“Anyways to respond to Jupiter.”, Astrodude spoke up, “If we attach it to the Sun, the entire solar system will move.”

“But how will we attach it to the sun?”, asked Mars.

“Well the machine is heat resistant and could hold up until 30000 Celsius. So it can resist his surface.”

Astrodude grabbed the machine and floated towards the Sun. He stopped at the Roche limit. He clicked a button on the machine and threw it towards the Sun. The machine did not shatter. Instead it fastened onto the Sun. Astrodude grabbed a remote from his packet and started controlling it.

“Okay! It’s ready to go!”, he exclaimed.

In about less than an hour, they had arrived.

They saw a red-ish star illuminate two other stars.

“Oh my bad! It was a star system not a solar system!”, Sun admitted.

But amidst the stars, Jupiter spotted a dark blue body. A planet.

All the memories started replaying in his head as he realised who it was.

“Planet X?!”

Chapter 2: Planet X’s journey to the Proxima Centauri system

Planet X travels to the Proxima Centauri system.

Chapter Text

Ever since he voluntarily left the solar system, Planet X was lonely. Proteus’ words still haunted him and he wish he could make it up to the others. The space was dark just like his thoughts as he scanned for a solar system to serve. Suddenly, he saw a star. Not just any star but a one that had celestial bodies orbiting it. Before approaching them, he decided to eavesdrop on them so that he knew their names.
When he thought he knew enough, he approached the giant star.

“Hello.. Proxima Centauri… is that right?”, he said, hesitant.

“Oh hey a new planet.”, she said amused.

“Oh and hello Proxima Centauri B!”, he greeted.

“How do you know my name?”, Promixa Centauri B asked suspiciously.

“I can hear and see things from afar.”

“Well…”, Proxima Centauri dragged out, staring at Planet X. She cleared her throat.

“Oh! I have come to ask if I could orbit around you?”

“Uh… sure.. but like.. why us?”

“The other nearest system is the Solar system and uh.. we have a bit of history between us so yeah!”

“Alright.. you can orbit me.”, she beamed.

“Awesome!”

He smiled and went to his designated orbit, spinning in it. Like he promised, he used his gravitational pull to protect his new friends and keep the asteroids in check.

It was pretty peaceful and chill. He would occasionally chat with the others but it would get awkward and a bit boring.

Every day passed normally until when he saw a glowing light approaching. The light was surrounded by what looked like planets. He gasped as he saw who they were.

The Solar system approached the Proxima Centauri system. Jupiter’s eyes were on X.

“P-planet X?”

“Hey there Jupiter….”

“Uh who are you guys?”, Proxima Centauri asked.

“We.. ARE THE SOLAR SYSTEM!”, the Sun giggled.

“Uh.. okay…”

“Uh guys! Sorry to interrupt but.. there’s a big problem!”, Astrodude said nervously.

“What is it?”, Saturn demanded.

“Something happened to the machine and now the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies are speeding up! Oh and so is Phoenix A! We only have 1 year left!”

“What?!”, everyone exclaimed.

“How did you figure all that out in a second, mate?”, Uranus asked.

“The remote’s screen says that.”, he shrugged.

Notes:

Hi! I think I went too overboard in the editing…. I doubled my brother’s word count but I didn’t know what else to add without changing the story. But still his story remains!!! And he is okay with it :3

Chapter 3

Chapter Text

After their wonderful stay at the Proxima Centauri system, they decided to return back to where they came from with some new friends of course. They found a moon staring at them.

That’s when they realised that Metis never came with them to the Proxima Centauri system.

“Hey Metis.. why didn’t you come with us?”, said Europa.

“I didn’t notice everyone was gone.”

“Still a bit strange that Sun’s gravity didn’t pull you with it.”, she remarked.

“Yep!”, she agreed, replaying the events of what happened when she was alone.

“Uh.. Hello?”, she whimpered fearfully, “Anyone there?”

“Where is the Sun?”, she whispered to herself.

“Uh hello..”, she heard a familiar voice. She turned around and saw a purple planet.

“Hey Callisto!”, she exclaimed, a smile tugged at her lips. “Where is everyone?”

“No idea.”, she said in a monotone voice. “But I heard Sun talking about going to the Proxima Centauri system.”

“But how?!”, she exclaimed.

“I don’t know.”, she replied. “Can you get there?”

“Oh I just wish I could travel 4.3 light years per hour.”, she rolled her eyes. Callisto frowned.

“How are you at the Proxima Centauri system?”, asked Houston.

“Don’t you remember the machine made by America’s money that could travel unbelievable speeds.”

“Oh now I remember!”, he chuckled.

While the moons of Jupiter were catching up with Metis and Callisto, the moons of Saturn discovered something shocking.

Dione returned back after being missing for god knows how long and was greeted by hostile glares.

“Hey Dione.”, Titan frowned. “Or should I say murderer of children?”

“Huh?”

“You destroyed Sao and Hippocamp! Neptune’s refused to show himself and all the other moons are hurt! Because of you!”

That’s a lot of accusations, she thought.

“I didn’t do it. I don’t know what’s making you think that!”

“Well we have evidence that you killed Sao and Hippocamp!”, Pearl declared. “You were the last moon seen with them before they died and you were hidden for a long time after they died. Plus I have video proof from satellites.”

Dione gaped at the video playing on her phone. It did show her doing what she was accused of but she never did it.

“Listen! It’s fake!”, she screamed.

“Leave us alone! Go live in the kuiper planet!”, everyone yelled at her.

It got too much and she decided to just leave the solar system and to search for Sao and Hippocamp. She’ll return with the two little moons, she promised herself.

Chapter 4

Chapter Text

It was dark and cold. Dione missed the Sun’s warmth. Dione missed her friends. She had no clue of how long she had been travelling. Days, months, years…

She saw a blue body interrupting the darkness all around.

“Hello?”, she called out, desperate.

“Oh Dione!”, he said, turning around. Planet X.

She gasped.

“I heard you destroyed some tiny moons..”, he brought up.

“I didn’t!”, she screamed, tired of the accusations.

“Alright alright! Chill.”, he chuckled. “I understand your position.”

Of course he did. Being abandoned wrongfully was his area of expertise.

“Wanna hang out?”, he asked, a bit nervously.

“Uh.. sure!”, she smiled.

“This may sound random but I have some earthling food stuff… wanna make a cake?”

“Why do you-”, she was cut off by a bunch of ingredients piling in front of her. Chilli powder.. popcorn seeds.. gummy bears… wheat.. pizza sauce.

Dione didn’t know much about cakes and earthling stuff but she was pretty sure they couldn’t make a cake with.. that.

But the excitement in Planet X’s eyes made her keep her mouth shut.

He summoned a bowl out of nowhere. “So first we take this red thing.”, he said throwing in the chilli powder alongside the packet. “Then we need these yellow beans and this red sauce.” He added popcorn seeds and pizza sauce.

“WHAT?!”, Dione couldn’t help herself. The cake looked extremely disgusting and she would rather crash into the Sun than eat this.. thing.

“And some gummy bears and the white powder!”, he added the rest of the ingredients.

Finally the ‘cake’ was ready. Dione resisted the urge to barf.

“Hey Proxima Centauri B!”, X called out. The Proxima Centauri System was paying them a short, sweet visit.

“Oh hey!”, Proxima Centauri B smiled.

“We made you a cake!”, he said, allowing the monstrosity of colours to drift between the two. “Eat it!”

Proxima Centauri B looked at the cake excitedly. Poor guy did not know what was inside the cake and took a bite.

He immediately starting vomiting. Dione and Planet X took this as their cue to leave.
