“I’m going to need you to repeat that very slowly.” Leo looked at him with a shocked face.
”Not the time, Leo.” Jason handed Percy a tissue. When did he start crying? He grabbed it and cleaned his eyes.
”alright, sorry, sorry.” Leo raised his hands. “But… seriously. Can you repeat that?”
Percy looked down at his hands (he didn’t even notice he started fidgeting). “A break. We both recently came out to each other as bisexual, and she said that we should both see what that means for us, then, hopefully, get back together.”
He had the conversation with Annabeth last night, after dinner. She made it very clear that she still loved him very dearly, and that it didn’t mean anything other than her wanting to explore her sexuality, and wanted him to do the same. He of course understood what she meant, no matter how many times she re-explained, looked at him with the calculating look he knew as her trying to read him, reassured him that she loved him right after that, and checked the notes she made.
”So, I’ll come out and say it,” Nico said, grabbing one of Sally’s cookies she delivered after he told her what happened. “Do you want to… eh…”
”fuck a dude?” Leo suggested and Nico nodded. Percy thought about it for a second. He always knew he was attracted to men, but ever since he started dating Annabeth, he only had eyes for her. Well, sometimes he felt like he lingered on Jason’s abs a second too long, or on Frank’s new body, or any of the Hephaestus kid’s arm while they were working with metal, and he knew non of it escaped Annabeth’s attention. She was the one who came out to him first, giving him the confidence to do the same.
and of course he wasn’t mad at her, gods no, he completely understood her and he wanted her to be happy. If she felt he wasn’t satisfying her enough in the bedroom department, and she wanted to try it with a woman, he was all for it. He knew how fun it was. But he wasn’t sure if he could go out and fuck a guy. The problem wasn’t with it being a guy, no, it would just feel like cheating for him, no matter how much she told him it was fine, and that it was the entire point. They made very clear boundaries after Percy agreed with Annabeth that a break would be a good idea. They decided that no serious relationships, nothing with other campers, and instead of telling each other about what they did (and if, in Percy’s case), they’d write it down and share it after the break would end, in a month. Percy could live with that. He did wonder what it would be like to get fucked by a dude…
it was always funny to him that people looked at him, then looked at Annabeth, and thought he was a top. No, Percy was one big sub. And he liked it. Loved it even. Annabeth was a really good dom, what can he say.
so what if sometimes he imagined a dude ordering him around instead of Annabeth? Sucking someone’s cock instead of plastic… maybe getting thrown around a bit…(unfortunately, Annabeth wasn’t all that into rough stuff). Having abs staring down at him instead of tits. ”kinda…?” Percy wiped the last remaining tears from his eyes.
”great, I’m downloading grinder on your phone.” Leo announced and both Jason and Nico face palmed.
”um… what’s grinder?”

”Alright, honey, you sure you have everything?” Sally asked over IM, looking at him with a concerned smile.
”yeah, I’m good mom.” Percy double checked his stuff. “I’m just visiting Grover for a week, it’ll be fine.”
“Ambrosia?” He nodded. “Pants and shirts?” He nodded. “A spare jacket?” He nodded. “Your phone?” He held up the phone. “Mortal knife?” He nodded. “Underwear?” He nodded. “Protection?”
”mom!” Percy blushed a deep shade of red. Well, he did pack that, but still.
”just asking!” Sally raised her hands and turned around as someone opened the apartment door. “Alright sweetie, Paul’s back, have a great time, bye!”
”Bye mom.” Percy waved his hand through the Iris message. He triple checked he had everything before closing his bag and leaving his cabin. He started walking towards the camp borders, seeing a familiar blond figure waiting for him there. “Wise girl!”
Annabeth turned around to see him walking up the hill. “Seaweed brain!” She kissed him on the cheek. “Ready for Gotham city?”
he showed her the brand new mortal knife Harley (Leo’s brother) made for him, pressing the secret button and making the hidden tiny blade go out the sides of the knife and vibrate. “Of course.” He offered his hand. “M’lady.”
She chuckled and took his hand. Percy was glad that even though they were on a break he could still do stuff like this with her.

Percy was happily ‘napping’ while it was Annabeth’s turn to drive the car (he only agreed because the monster they fought when they stopped for gas scraped him in the leg) when his phone went off. He opened his eyes just in time to both see them going past the ‘Welcome to Gotham City’ sign and Annabeth glancing at his phone.
”Really Percy?” She raised a brow. “Grinder? Come on, you can do better.”
Percy blushed from top to bottom and snatched his phone, making Annabeth chuckle. It really was a grinder notification, but he really wasn’t going to check that while in the car with his girlfriend, so he just stuffed it in his bag and cleared his throat. “Oh? Then what are you using, wise girl? Or do you like it the old fashioned way?”
Annabeth chuckled again. “Some app I found called ‘her’. Took me like an hour and seven apps to find a good one.”
”Any good matches?”
”You’ll get to know that in a month.”
