Y/n was scrolling through a chat room on his computer when he saw someone who actively chatted throughout the group. He decided to start a private conversation with them.

Y/n chatted for hours with the stranger that it was already 9.

Y/n’s phone buzzed next to his ear, surprising him. He woke fifteen minutes earlier than he was meant to and quietly cried inside. Y/n sat up dragging his clothes towards him and getting ready in bed slowly trying to wake himself up. As he grabbed his bag from his chair, Y/n got a notification on his computer.

After school

“Hey, we should go off to the arcade today! I brought some extra change with me.” said Random friend 1. 

“But earlier in class you were just saying how tired you were man!” Random friend 2 burst out laughing. Random friend 3 joined him in the laughter.

“Yeah let’s head to the arcade, you down Y/n?” Random 3 turned to ask him. Y/n looked down to his phone checking the time. It read 3:53. 

‘It’s probably still too early for him to be back. Doesn’t hurt to spend more time with these guys.’  Y/n thought. 

“Uh yeah sure I’ll go.”

The arcade wasn’t as full since it was a weekday with only a few students and kids hanging around and playing the games. 

“Hell yeah I’m gonna beat your score this time [Random 2 Name].” 

“I’d love to see you try [Random 1 Name].”

They both ran off to some game and Y/n stayed behind with Random 3. 

“Do you want to play something Y/n?” Random 3 leaned closer so Y/n would be able to hear him over the loud screaming of kids and buzzing from the machines. 

“Not really. I just followed to kill some time.” Y/n sighed as he walked over to a table sitting on it. 

“Oh yeah I get that. It can be a bit much here too.” Random 3 said nervously, giggling as he sat on the chair next to the table. 

“Whu- uhh do you want me to get you something to drink while we ‘kill time’? I'm getting kinda hot over here.” Random 3 asked after a short awkward silence.

“Yeah go get me what I usually get.” Y/n yawned as he scrolled through his phone.

Random 3 came back a few minutes later with a water bottle and a can of soda, Y/n’s favorite. They sat at their table for over 20 minutes making small talk here and there.

Y/n checked the time again at 4:38. They’ve been here for half an hour and Y/n was over this already. He wanted to go home and jump on his computer and check if his new interest messaged him while he was gone.

Y/n sighed sliding off the table. “I’m heading home, I'm drained.” 

“Oh I-I’ll go with you! Let me just tell the guys we are leaving.” Random 3 picked up his bag and sped off to where the others were. 

Y/n left the Arcade and started walking towards home. Random 3 ran up to him a few seconds later gasping slighting from the short jog.

“It’s good we live in the same direction so we don’t have to walk alone right?” Random 3 joked, nudging Y/n on the arm. 

“The temperature really changed in the short time we were in the arcade. It’s starting to get windy out here at night.” 

“It’s not! The wind is warm. Maybe you’re just some lizard person with cold blood.” Y/n snickered slightly.

Random 3 giggled slightly and the conversation died down after that. The rest of the walk was silent apart from the rustling of the leaves and cars driving by.

Y/n’s house came up first. 

“Have a good night Y/n! I’ll see you tomorrow.” Random 3 waved as Y/n closed the door.

He skipped up the stairs throwing his school bag in a corner of his room and jumped to his desk chair.

‘Yes!’

Y/n sees the message notification and he opens the chat.

Just class then I went to practice and then just went home

So I would say I have a little brother and his older sister

and i live alone both my parents are off on business trips and stuff

Y/n sighed seeing the chat go silent. He scrolled back up to the pictures and stared at the wide eyed and happy smile of this new face.

A naive looking guy. Makes Y/n wonder if he has any dirty secrets hiding behind his eyes.

Those are always his favorite. To uncover a side of someone who appears unassuming.

A sleep over would be nice. Hopefully he can find a way to see him soon.
