Time & Time Again

On earth, the year is 2335. Arthur Hastings is captain of a Miranda-class science vessel, the USS Wordsworth. Felicity Lemon, his first officer, is 1/4 Vulcan (3/4 human) and is mainly responsible for drawing up duty rosters and assigning ship's systems to the various science teams aboard vessel. She runs the ship with such efficiency that it completely boggles Captain Hastings' mind sometimes.
Near the end of the second year of their five-year mission, Admiral Japp pays them an unexpected visit...And he brings this short, stout little ambassador with him. This ambassador looks very familiar to Captain Hastings, but he can't seem to place him, especially given how nervous he is about Admiral Japp's insistence that they give the ambassador their 'full and total cooperation during his visit'.
And it turns out that Ambassador Poirot--who used to be the head of Starfleet Security--is definitely investigating something...but he's being very secretive about it: He won't seem to tell Captain Hastings anything useful about the investigation.
And Captain Hastings' greatest fears are realised when Ambassador Poirot looks Captain Hastings in the eye and tells him, in a low voice:
"Hastings. Trust no one."

In his defence tho. Hastings was like. The ONLY ensign at that lecture. The rest of the attendees were already Captains and Commodores. He's Super Impressed that this baby ensign would A) even know about the lecture and B) even want to attend it amongst all the Bored Brass
(Also. LOL. listen to me. Poirot knows EXACTLY what that phrase is supposed to be. It's basically the same in French HE DID THAT ON PURPOSE. BECAUSE HE KNEW IT WOULD ANNOY JAPP ENOUGH THAT HE'D *LEAVE* AHAHAHAAA My man is playing like 12D chess hahahahaha)

Hmm. Looks like they still haven't quite gotten the replicators back up to snuff. Either that, or the replicators just can't make a decent cup of cocoa haha (Anyway Poirot's ick face gives me LIFE I love him so much)
OUgh lads. The ship. Is SO hard for me to draw. But she's such a pretty lady. I wish I was better at drawing her. Guess I gotta just keep practicing. (Please take a moment to stare at all her details. I worked very hard on them) :')

He's like First of all 'I don't know why ANYONE would want this ship (she's like a well-used, 1985 Buick Century like the back windows don't roll down & she makes funny noises for no reason sometimes & the whole dashboard shakes when we go over 100kph but I STILL *LOVE* THIS THING GODDAMN IT SHE MAY BE GARBAGE BUT SHE DOESN'T BELONG AT THE *JUNKYARD* SHE'S ALL I *HAVE* THEY CAN'T *DO* THIS TO ME)' and second of all 'WTF is this Ambassad- Excuse me. My my this is quite the interesting fic! You managed to write Poirot quite well. His former position of Head of Starfleet security gives him quite an air of mystery along with I suspect might be a bit of precognition. The puzzle of the ship's constant malfunctions has me on the edge of seat.
Your art syle is truly delectable to the eyes, I adore your O.C character designs. Thank you for this comic!

Thank you for the chapter! Gotta say this chapter has fully endeared me to the science officers, the pink addition to Poirot's Boutonniére was truly splendid. I really liked how you balanced the building tension with the potential ship stealing plot with the wacky hijinks in the background.

Thank you for the chapter! The gas coming from the vents is not a all ominous, no siree and it seems that their may be a spot of illogical favoritism coming from Mr. Saverek. I like the little inquisitive looks Poirot is giving.

Reacting to chapter 25: this story is getting really exciting !!! I've never really watched Star Trek but you seem to know the universe very well and you've created such a great atmosphere. Thank you for the chapter! The ominous gas has come into play, something sinister is at play and it seems to be currently targeting those with Vulcan heritage. Seeing that a very large part of the crew is at least part Vulcan this seems to spell shipwide danger. The tension is palpable in this chapter. I like the way you showed that everyone was worried for their fellow crewmates, makes the scene all the more compelling.

Thank you for the chapter! This is quite worrying, with every vulcan on ship down sick with whatever the gas was. But at least (I think) Poirot is now on the case! It is really cool that Poirot knows Vulcan too. I like the little (rose bush?) halo you gave him at the end, I wonder what it signifies.
