Summary
Astarion, a vampire spawn forced to hunt for his sadistic master Cazador, has spent centuries weaponizing charm and beauty to lure in victims—until the night he walks into the Velvet Veil and meets Edith: a sharp-witted singer with a soldier’s spine and a voice that makes even the dead feel alive. When she doesn't instantly fall for his flirtations, bringing her back for Cazador turns into a unique game that he only thinks he's winning until he's too far gone to even realize his own feelings. She sees him—through the pain, through the mask. And for the first time in his long unlife, Astarion wants to be seen.
This is a slight rewriting of Astarion's past, directly before the events of BG3 (and possibly during them). Imagining if he had met the original character and fallen for her before being abducted by the mindflayers, and what her backstory might have been. Using my original Tav.
