“No? You’re going to become a Suparna.”

Work Text:

“I can see the outcome of this fusion”, said Orobas. “I’ll become a Loa.”

 

“No?”, the Demi-Fiend replied. After doublechecking that the minister was using the correct materials, he continued, “You’re going to become a Suparna. Begin the fusion!”

 

Orobas and Mizuchi dissolved into bluish-black mist. The mist coalesced into a sphere of energy that unleashed a flash of dark lightning. In its wake appeared Suparna. 

 

Before he could introduce himself, an alarm started blaring as the room filled with red light. Suparna vanished into a second, more intense burst of lightning from which a Loa appeared.

 

“I told you that I’d become the Night Loa.”

 

“You smart-aleck…”, the Demi-Fiend groaned.

Notes:

The idea for this fic popped into my head upon seeing what Orobas says when used as fusion material in Devil Survivor 2. Since that game doesn’t have fusion accidents (quite the good thing, since you’d never be able to financially recover from one), I decided to set it within the events of another one. The comedic timing of Nocturne’s fusion accident animation overrode Orobas’s absence from that game.

If you directly transposed Orobas as it appears in DeSu 2 into Nocturne, fusing it with Mizuchi would result in Suparna. Such a transposition is naive, but it’s good enough for what I’m doing here (especially since a wide level range of Fallen demons can fuse with Mizuchi to produce a Suparna).
