Podfic: A Promise Made and A Promise Kept (Chaeya story)

Kaeya was not an emotional man. He did not let himself get close to anyone, for fear of repeating his mistake a third time. He'd been first abandoned by Khaenri'ah, and then once more by Mondstadt. Both times because he had been too honest, both because he had gotten too close. In the cold clutches of Snezhnaya, Kaeya now had a third chance. Where he could find closure on his previous life, and where he could begin anew.
When he recognizes Lord Tartaglia in Liyue during his escape to Snezhnaya, it is both a blessing and curse. On the one hand, this could be his best chance to learn the language and have an in with the Fatui so he could find some answers on his father's death, disappearing after. On the other, it signals to him that the Tsaritsa has plans for him, confirmed by the Vision now on his hip. He could be walking right into a trap laid out for him, walking into a plan made to ensnare him when he could simply keep walking and avoid all of it. When he ultimately decides to approach Tartaglia, he does so only to get what he needed and to leave without a trace.
Kaeya could never have known that the Harbinger would be his path to salvation.

Hello! This is my first Podfic, I hope you enjoy! I have no clue how much time between posting each reading of the chapters but I am hoping it wont be that long. I am going into summer break withing the next couple weeks so it shouldn't take that much time for the next reading to be posted

Hey! So basically some really unfun stuff happened and a tree fell on my house. Everyone is ok I’m just not able to record for the next little bit 🫠. I’m staying with some family friends and it’d be kinda awkward to be like, “hey can I use your closet to record me reading this fanfic?” Ya no I’d like to keep my illusion of sanity with them lol. Anyways hopefully I’ll be back to recording soon and I can actually start my recording schedule lol.

you're doing great with the podfic!!! you have a good reading voice, it's soothing to listen along to. the mic quality isn't bad and the background noise wasn't overly prevalent, and if that's not 90% of the battle in terms of making podfics then idk what is lol
if you're looking for any advice on improvements for the podfic, it may be worth going back and re-listening to your recording when you're done as you read along to the text. that way, you can catch any errors you may have made along the way or any portions that you feel didn't come out quite right and mark it for a re-do. I'd also suggest leaving a longer pause between sections - a couple seconds of silence whenever there's a page break in the original fic. When the pause between is too short, it comes off as one long continuation of a scene and it may be confusing for those just listening instead of reading along
I appreciate that you're working to give kaeya and childe different voices! it's a really nice touch and gives the podfic a little touch of something a bit more personal/heartfelt and I look forward to seeing how you further develop that (if you do). I also like how you don't read in one long monotonous voice throughout the narration and stress/emphasize or speed up/slow down as the scene calls for it

I genuinely got so excited when I saw this, This is one of my all time favourite fics and I absolutely love that there is now podfic version and I have been using this to help me fall asleep and I’ve fallen asleep so fast and I love your voice I don’t know how to explain it but it just brings me into the story so much in a way
(I’m so sorry if this is confusing or doesn’t make sense I’m writing this very late at night lmao)
