Summary:

Drabbles for Lokius Week 2025. Featuring Jealousy, drinks/rebellion, prayers/longing, rainy day, memory loss, hurt/comfort, and a little something else

Chapter 1: Mine

Notes:

Day 1 - Jealousy, secrets, missing scene

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Thank God

he's back     |     he's still here

But why is he over there

Talking to some hunter     |     Sitting at his desk looking at reports

When he could be over here with me?

Maybe

If I ignore him     |     If I can make him jealous

He'll come back to me

Don't look at him     |     Look at him

He's perfect

What could he ever see

In some old analyst?     |     In a monster like me?

That's why

He doesn't want me     |     He can't bear to look at me

I'm gonna go over     |     I wish he'd come over

I'll tell him     |     Tell me

You're mine

Chapter 2: Small Rebellions

Notes:

Day 2 - Magic, drinks, rebellion

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The night sparkled in Loki's eyes, which should have been Mobius’ sign to stop. But the drinks were flowing and time felt like it had stopped and Mobius couldn't bear to pull himself away from whatever was happening.

It was only a few drinks after successfully figuring out how the variant was evading them. A reward for a job well done. One drink turned to three which turned into more. Their feet, at first trying to avoid each other, soon playing footsie while their hands, which began by holding their glasses, were inching toward holding each other. Even if this was a ploy on Loki’s part, and Mobius didn't think it was, he didn't care.

But Mobius knew this was trouble. It was only drinks. Each consecutive glass felt like a small rebellion – something illicit even if it wasn't really. But as time dripped around them he knew he was beginning a dangerous journey. It was only talking, Mobius convinced himself as he stared at Loki's lips. A spark was blossoming inside his chest. Before the night was over he knew, however, that he'd put Loki above the TVA if he was only asked. Time-Keepers knew he wished Loki would.

Chapter 3: Prayer

Notes:

Day 3 - Prayers, longing, the archives

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Loki, accept this offering, hear this prayer.

I'm not sure what I'm doing. I'm not even sure you can hear me. Can you hear me? It's been a few day cycles since I did this. I thought I was over it but then everything hit me again. I was checking through some files in the archives at our table and my foot stretched out and didn't run into yours.

I never was one for prayer, it never made sense to me before. But now I do. I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to ask for something but the only thing I want is the one thing I can't have. So instead, I'll pray that you're doing okay, better than me at least.

Are you sending me signs? Was it you making the vending machine malfunction? Was it merely coincidence?

Everyone else is so thankful for your sacrifice, but I just can't bring myself to join them. I wish there was another way, there had to be another way. I think I once told you there was no comfort in the TVA, you just choose your burden. You chose yours, but I didn't get to choose mine. Do you hear me Loki?

Chapter 4: God is in the Rain

Notes:

Day 4 - First date, hair, rainy day

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

As the rain fell, beginning as a sprinkle before turning into a downpour, memories trickled in. Memories of different rainstorms, ones he had seen but he was sure he had never seen them like this. The way the water dripped from Loki's hair, clinging on in droplets that Mobius yearned to lick away. Both their shirts sticking to them, the water making them into windows that Mobius peeked through before Loki pulled him in for a kiss, their tongues dancing like they both knew the steps.

Except it was a false memory. They'd never kissed. It was one of Mobius’ regrets from the day everything went wrong. But he remembered it like it happened. He knew the way Loki tasted, how he made a little gasp sound when Mobius bit his lip, he could feel Loki's hands gripping his hair. It was real.

More memories flooded in. Things that could have been, unlocked again by the rain. Rain that had come out of nowhere on what should have been a clear day. The memories flashed by, more kisses, holding hands, heated moments, watching Loki sleep next to him in bed. Each one a gift dropped from the sky like raindrops.

Chapter 5: Homecoming

Notes:

Day 5 - Reunions, praise, memory loss

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“We're thrilled to have you back, Loki, but-” Hunter B-15, no, her name was Verity now, said.

“I'm sure you all are, but there's someone else I need to see,” Loki persisted, pushing his way past her in the hall.

Things looked different in the TVA. It must have been a while since the loom melted down. Loki was happy to see things were running smoothly in the TVA as well. But there was someone very important missing from the line of hunters and analysts greeting them, someone they wished to see more than any other.

“That's what I'm trying to tell you,” Verity continued, “When you left, it was hard on him. It nearly broke him.”

They turned the corner, nearly running into the man himself. Mobius. The one who kept Loki going when they had nothing left. A sight for sore eyes.

“Verity! Just who I was looking for. Oh, you must be new. I'm Mobius,” he held his hand out to Loki to shake.

“Mobius, it's me,” Loki said, though they knew it wouldn't make a difference.

Verity's words sunk in.

It had been too much. Too long. Too painful to remember, so Mobius chose not to.

Chapter 6: Mind Trip

Notes:

Day 6 - Dreams, hurt/comfort, slice of life

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Mobius gasped awake. A dream. That's all it was. Loki awoke beside him, comforting him from the dream. It had been occurring more often and each time Loki had to talk him down from it.

The loom didn't explode. Loki didn't leave. They'd found a way to make it work without the loom. That part was more iffy to him but he wasn't well versed on physics. It didn't matter anyway, it only mattered that it worked. He fell back to sleep with Loki's hushed words in his ears and strong arms around him to keep him safe and sound.

* * *

As Mobius fell back to sleep, Loki reinstated the dreamworld. That time was close – Mobius almost broke through. He whispered soft nothings into Mobius’ ear, ushering in the peacefulness Mobius craved.

Maybe later they could craft a beach scene, something to distract Mobius. It always cheered him up when they went to the beach together. Ever since the loom melted down, Loki had fought to keep things running and keep Mobius happy. He had to be protected and comforted. His pain eased as much as possible. Which is how they ended up in here, in a dream of Loki's weaving.

Chapter 7: Checkmate

Notes:

Day 7 - Thief AU

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Loki glanced across the room over her champagne glass. The party was already getting boring and it had barely begun. Each person who spoke to her was more tiresome than the last, like talking to molasses. She needed something exciting, something new. She fidgeted with the diamond necklace she'd swiped weeks ago, her last affair, now she wanted something else.

She caught a glimpse of just what she was looking for a moment later. A handsome silver fox she'd never met before. She'd soon change that. The art of seducing her target meant luring them to her. She laughed a little louder at some joke that really wasn't that funny and pretended not to see her target. But he saw her – a furtive glance in his direction told her as much. His eyes watched her every move with an intensity she craved. He was already hers.

Loki wondered a little about who he was. He wasn't a politician – she'd never heard of him or seen him and she would remember seeing him. If he was at the party, then he at least knew someone. He must have money. The man's suit hinted at it, as did the watch on his wrist. He moved casually – which meant he likely didn't have any kind of military background. But his blue eyes watched the room carefully, as though analyzing everything, analyzing her. A shiver ran down her back. What did he see when he saw her?

Tossing her head back in another laugh at the senator's joke, Loki strategically put her hand on the senator's chest while looking over his shoulder at her real target. Eventually he'd make his move. They always did.

And like clockwork he excused himself from his company and made his way over. He inserted his way into the conversation almost seamlessly, taking up the spot at Loki's elbow, pressed so closely she could feel warmth radiating off of him. Goosebumps raised up her arm despite that.

He introduced himself with an odd name she'd never heard of, and Loki prided herself on knowing anyone worth knowing. Don Mobius. Curious. Don was much more charming up close. His voice was soft and his conversation engaging. Even better, he responded perfectly to her touch by leaning in until one could hardly tell that they'd only met each other a few moments ago. His hands wrapped around her waist snuggly, teasing at more but respectfully keeping themselves above her waistline. Hands that bore no ring, but Loki was certain she could change that without too much effort.

Don's eyes were glued to her. He might look at someone else as he spoke to them but then he'd go right back to watching her. She found herself doing the same.

“Why don't we get some air?” Don whispered in her ear as the conversation drifted away from them.

She smiled wickedly as she followed the man out hand in hand. He was right where she wanted him, well on his way to being wrapped around her little finger.

The courtyard outside was quiet, no one else having found the spot yet to sneak away so early into the night. A small fountain burbled in the center and flowers lined the edge of the green space. A couple of benches sat around the fountain, which Don ignored.

With no one else around, Loki took the opportunity to press in close. In the low light of the courtyard she could see how his cheeks reddened. He was flustered in her presence, his smooth words disappearing on his tongue as she pressed herself against him. Don was cute, she admitted. The thought crossed her mind to simply toy with him instead of robbing him blind like she had so many others.

Don hissed out a breath as Loki ran her tongue across the shell of his ear. His hand, which had gone to her waist instinctively, tightened its grip.

“Tell me about yourself, Don,” Loki whispered into his ear.

Her teeth grazed down his ear to the lobe where they sunk in, causing his breath to hitch once more. Lips Loki wanted to taste.

“T-there's not much to tell,” Mobius stammered out.

Her hands smoothed over his chest, admiring the way it felt under his shirt – sturdy, strong, but still soft. Her lips traced kisses along his jawline, leaving behind some of her lipstick. If this Don was married, he wouldn't be for long once any Mrs. Mobius found lipstick on his collar.

“There must be something you can tell me,” Loki murmured between kisses, her voice getting breathy.

Loki's hands moved downward, slowly feeling her way down Mobius’ abdomen. She didn’t miss the way he sucked in a breath as she did, as though he were trying to suck in his stomach. His hands stayed planted on her waist, refusing to move any lower, or higher. His discomfort made her grin. It was evident this wasn't something he did often.

“What d'ya wanna know?” Mobius sputtered, the words spilling from his mouth.

So many things. She was hooked on this cute man and needed to know everything. The books beside his bed. The sounds he made when she kissed him. His favourite places to get coffee. Was he going to be this bashful in bed or would he take charge? She started with an easy one.

“What do you do for a living?” Loki asked. Her lips just about met his, her breath ghosting over his lips. It would be nothing to kiss him now but she wanted him to be able to answer her.

She heard the click before she felt the handcuffs tighten.

“Agent Mobius, FBI,” Don said. “You've been on our list for a while.”

“Well played, Don.”

More agents appeared but Loki went quietly for now. Don's hand on the small of her back a calming presence. He might be the one to catch her but she'd find a way to be the one who got away. She always did.
