Karkat Vantas has traversed 5 out of 12 worlds in search for the next Denizen to kill in order to have a slight chance of bringing his friends back from the dead. In that time, 7 years have passed and he's felt like shit ever since he made that oath with one of the Denizens, Phaethon. He's gotten a lot better at surviving the hellish depths of each Denizen's cave, though it helps to be tied to an unshakable promise he made all those years ago. While he's on planet number 6, Equius' old stomping grounds, he receives a message for the first time in years from an unknown person who seems to be playing the same game as he is. Though his circumstances are wildly different from Karkats.OR
