Chapter Text
The sun could be seen right over the greenery of the mountains. The snow-like clouds barely covering the tip of the mountain tops.
However, the peace was shortly cut short by screams.
“It's Inuyasha!”
The men shouted as a red figure leaped into the air. The silver-haired boy teared up the surrounding him with a smirk as he glided through the wind.
He kept jumping away as the people below tried to capture him with rope, but failed to do so every time.
Inuyasha soon crashed into a small shrine. He stood up in anticipation as he gazed upon a necklace with a round pearl embedded into it.
He crept closer before ultimately snatching it from its former place. Before he could take off, the doors behind him slammed open.
Inuyasha turned around quickly as he caught sight of men blocking his exit. The same men threw spears at him, missing each shot as the Hanyou dodged.
He finally decided to jump up, breaking the ceiling and roof once again only after throwing the torches onto the ground. After he became airborne, the small shrine exploded, causing the boy to stare smugly.
He huffed before taking out the necklace from his pocket. “Finally, the way for me to become all demon at last. Heh.” He landed on stone tiling a few meters away from the shrine, showering in his victory before starting to run away.
A strong, booming voice called out to him as he jumped away again. “Inuyasha!” The woman held a bow and arrow in her hands. She pulled the arrow and fired at the silver-haired Hanyou.
As Inuyasha was leaping past a tree trunk, the arrow went through him, trapping him to the piece of wood. During the shock, Inuyasha dropped the necklace. He stared confused as he reached out for it.
He looked up, only to see a black-haired woman glaring at him whilst holding onto the very same bow.
“K-Kikyo?” Inuyasha breathed out. “H-How could… I thought…” Before the boy knew it, he passed out.
Kikyo, on the other hand, limped over to where the necklace resided. Soon enough, a little girl and an older man quickly made their way to her after she took a knee.
“Onee-sama!”
“Kikyo-sama!”
Another man went to her aid. “That wound, it--”
“--You’re hurt really badly..” The little girl frowned.
Kikyo struggled to stand up. “I forgot who I.. And now see what…” She shakily took the necklace into her hands. “All for this… The sacred Jewel which…” She groaned in pain.
“You’re in pain! Let someone…” The little girl quivered.
“I won’t feel it much longer, and so I give this to you…” She handed the necklace to the little girl. “The Shikon no Tama, which you must burn with my body.”
The girl gazed up at her older sister while Kikyo continued with her instructions. “It must not fall into the hands of those who would abuse it.” She tightened her grip around the jewel.
Though it was not in hesitancy, but rather pain.
“Onee-Sama!!” Was the last thing she heard before her hearing faded away.
A few hours passed, with the townsfolk burning her body with the jewel in her hands.
‘I shall take it with me to the other world.’
[F/N] Shimura was walking with her friend, Shouto Todoroki. They were both walking back from Junior High.
[F/N] was talking about a book that she bought and read from the public library. Shouto, on the other hand, was adamant about the facts of it.
“Shikon no what? What kind of name is that?”
“No idea, that’s just what the jewel was called.” [F/N] smiled. “It’s apparently the Jewel of the Four Souls.” The black-haired girl reached into her bag, only to pull out a small replica of the exact jewel.
“This is what it looks like!” She grinned.
Shouto dead-panned. “And you bought it?”
“The keychain was free… Coming along with the book ..”
“So you did buy it.”
[F/N] chuckled nervously. She quickly shushed him as she continued with what she was saying. “This crystal is the replica of that ancient jewel which--”
“Cool keychain, Onee-San!” A small kid yelled out to the pair as his mother chuckled at the display.
[F/N] chuckled while waving to the kid. “Thank you, Otouto!” Shouto only blinked as the kid giggled.
When the mother and son duo left, [F/N] turned back to her friend . “Anyways, as I was saying, its a replica of an ancient jewel that--”
A slightly younger girl walked up to the two with practically stars in her eyes. ”Where’d you get that cool-looking jewel from?” The girl tilted her head but smiled when she was given a location. She gave the two of them a thumbs up as [F/N] waved at her.
Shouto sighed before the pair continued on their path. However, the duel-haired teenager stopped for a moment. “Wait, isn't your birthday today?”
[F/N] nodded. “Yup! Officially 15! Make sure to get me something thoughtful!” The girl laughed as the boy blankly stared at her.
Before they could continue their conversation, a small little grade schooler ran up to them in tears. “Onee-Chan! Ani-Chan! I need help!!”
[F/N] quickly ran up to him to comfort him. “What’s wrong, Otouto?”
“I-I..” He sniffled. “I lost my cat, Buyo!”
Shouto crouched down. “Do you remember where you last saw ‘em?” The kid nodded before pointing to the general area.
“I-I remember seeing her around t-that old shrine there…”
“That shrine…”
[F/N] frowned. “Isn’t that the old shrine with the well?” She looked up to her friend. Shouto nodded.
[F/N] sighed as she stood up. “Don’t worry, Otouto! I’ll get your cat for you!”
The kid’s eyes brightened before thanking her profusely. Shouto, on the other hand, was hesitant. “Are you sure, [F/N]-Chan ? I could get there faster..”
“Yeah, but you’ll probably scare away the cat.” She smirked. Shouto sighed. “Just make sure the kid is okay, okay Shouto-Kun ?”
“Fine.”
“Thanks!” And with that, [F/N] quickly ran to the shrine and placed her bag near the door. She walked inside, looking around before slightly jumping as she heard a meow.
She looked down the stairs to see a calico cat near the sealed-off well.
[F/N] chuckled. “You must be Buyo.” She floated down the stairs as she gently held the cat in her arms. “You gave your owner quite the scare.. Let’s get you back to ‘em.”
As she was about to float back up, a scratching noise stopped her.
‘Huh?’
She looked back to the well, still hearing the noise. It started to creep her out, so she hurriedly turned around, only to shriek when she came face to face with Shouto and the kid.
“Few! You two almost scared me!!” [F/N] sighed in relief.
“Sorry, Onee-Chan…” The kid paused before he broke into a smile. “Buyo!!” The cat meowed back at the boy before jumping out of your arms.
The cat ran to the boy before he picked the cat up. [F/N] smiled while Shouto turned around to face her.
However, his face turned into horror.
“[F/N]-Chan! Look out!!”
The girl blinked before she turned around. She froze when she saw white-transparent-like ribbons flowing out of the now-opened well. [F/N]’s eyes widened.
She tried to use her Quirk to float away but that only made it easier for the ribbons to attach to her body. The next thing she knew, Shouto was screaming out her name while the boy was screaming out for her in terror.
[F/N] gasped as she was turned around, now facing the well becoming closer and closer, until she fully fell in. As the girl was falling, she felt large hands grabbing at her as she stared in shock at the woman appearing in front of her.
The woman had three pairs of long, insect-like arms and worst of all… She was topless… This caused [F/N] to gasp in fright.
As the two continued to fall, the woman sighed in pleasure. “ Alive… Oh, to be alive once more.. Already my strength returns .” [F/N] looked down and noted that the woman had no lower body, only a centipede bottom.
[F/N] gulped in terror as she looked back up at the blank look of the woman. She struggled to leave her grasp but the woman did not let go, not one bit.
“ You have it, don’t you ?” [F/N] was questioned as she grunted. “ Give it to me…!” [F/N] furrowed her brows as the woman tightened her grip. The woman’s tongue slipped out, slowly caressing the black-haired girl’s face.
“Eughh, what the hell is wrong with you?! Let me go!!” [F/N] slapped the woman’s grasp on her face as she pushed herself away from her. While doing so, the hand that she used to push the woman away, flashed a bright pink, blinding her right in the face.
[F/N] stared in shock at the display, noticing the woman falling further than she was before. The woman stared at her with an angered aura. “ Wretched girl, I must have the Sacred Jewel .”
While [F/N] was watching her fall deeper and deeper, she finally noticed an arm still connected to her own. She gasped as she quickly tugged it off of her, watching as that, too, started to fall.
However, the bright pink coloring hadn’t seemed to fade yet, further confusing the middle schooler.
“ ‘Sacred Jewel’ , huh?” After she muttered that, her surroundings soon faded to a darker color. The vibrant blues turning into a muddy dark desaturated navy.
As it was happening, she soon enough realized that the ground had become solid and that she was about to fall. But before that could happen, she activated her Quirk and floated off of the ground.
She looked and squinted as she saw a bright baby-blue sky with clouds in every direction. “Uh.. Shouto-Kun! I’m alright!” She floated up the well, blatantly ignoring the severed arm a few inches away.
“Shouto-..” She paused once she finally made it out. She looked around, confused about why she was suddenly in a forest. “Uh, Shouto-Kun.. Where are you…?”
She floated onto the other side of the well, now firmly placing her feet on the grass. “Um.. I don’t think I’m in Musutafu anymore…” She frowned but calmed down when her gaze landed upon a white butterfly.
She gave a small smile but shook her head as she finally started to walk in a straight line, taking note of her surroundings. “It's so.. Green and untouched… I kind of like it .” She smiled as she looked at all the wildlife.
She took a deep breath, enjoying the unpolluted air. While doing so, she finally saw the tree that’s always behind the small shrine “Oh! The old tree!” She grinned as she kicked her feet off the ground and floated ahead.
But, her smile paused for a moment when her eyes met a boy’s body. She slowed down to a stop as she looked at him.
The boy had long, silver hair with small animal ears on top of his head. He was wearing a bright red kimono with no shoes in sight. [F/N] furrowed her eyebrows when she caught sight of an arrow sticking out of the boy’s torso.
“Who would do that..?” [F/N] frowned as she walked closer to the tree's roots. She climbed on top of them and carefully balanced on them as she approached the silver-haired boy.
But she paused when she finally took a good look at him. “Are those… Dog ears?..” She reached her hand to it and started to touch it. This went on for a few seconds before she took a deep breath and stopped.
‘They’re so soft!!’
[F/N] sighed but before she could do anything else, a group of men appeared and aimed their bow and arrows at her. [F/N] jumped as she sweat-dropped.
“Get away from there!” They shouted.
They soon fired their arrows, causing [F/N] to yelp and duck out of the way. “What the hell?!” She turned around with an angered look but paused when the men came closer.
“Eh..”
“Eh..”
[F/N] blinked in confusion as she was now in the middle of a village. She looked around as the townsfolk gossiped about her. “Um, you didn’t have to tie me up! I’m just a regular junior high student!” She reasoned.
“A girl in strange clothing…”
“Do you think she’s a foreigner?”
“You reckon it’s war?”
“Of course it is, and right in the middle of rice-planting season, too.”
“She could be a kitsune in disguise.”
A woman shook her head. “Nah. Them shape-changing foxes are a lot trickier than that.”
[F/N] sighed as he started looking at all the different people.
“I'm not really sure of that..”
‘They all have Top knots… Is this the feudal era or what?’
[F/N] exhaled but straightened up when she heard someone. “Make way for High Priestess, Kaede-Sama!” She turned around to face an old woman making her way towards her.
The women had aged white hair. Her face had wrinkled, the same as her fingers holding a bow. She was dressed in miko clothing and an eyepatch, which [F/N] hoped wasn’t gained in a gruesome way.
The Miko handed her bow, the one that she used to balance herself, to the man standing next to her, only to throw salt at [F/N].
[F/N] quickly closed her eyes as the salt fell on everything.
“Demon be gone!”
[F/N] hissed. “Hey! I’m not a demon, ma’am!!”
“Are ye sure? Then why were ye found in the forest of Inuyasha?”
The man from before stepped closer to Kaede. “She could be a spy from another village…”
The priestess waved him off. “In that case, she would be a fool.” She turned back to [F/N]. “Who would invade such a poor village as ours?” She stopped, having a stunned look on her face as she stared at the black-haired girl.
[F/N] blinked in confusion as the woman continued.
Kaede walked towards the girl before kneeling down to grab her face. “Let me have a good look at ye.” She turned [F/N]’s face side to side as the girl grew increasingly more and more annoyed.
“Look clever girl, or be ye a half-wit?”
‘Girl what??’
The woman finally let go and stood up. “It’s there, though I know not why.”
“Huh??”
Silence enveloped the two as the older woman stirred a pot of boiling food. She grabbed a bowl and poured some of it into it. Kaede lifted it up to [F/N].
“Stew?”
[F/N] blinked after soothing her wrist. She smiled as she gently took the bowl from the priestess. “Thank you. This stew looks amazing..” She nodded to her before taking a small sip from the piping hot dish.
“Bear ye no ill will, child. For though I now see ye mean us no harm in these troubled times of war, no stranger may be welcomed among us without deep distrust.”
[F/N] nodded. “I understand. I am just a random girl dressed in unfamiliar clothing compared to you all… This village sure is different from Musutafu, I can tell you that.”
“ ‘Mu-su-ta-fu’ ? Never heard of it. Is that where your people are from?”
[F/N] chuckled slightly. “Yeah, I guess you could say that…“ She smiled sadly as she looked down at her bowl. “It’s a place where there's a lot of extraordinary people living together.” She looked up to Kaede.
“I could show you if you’d like.” She smiled widely as the woman only stared.
“Onee-Sama, please! You must!” A young Kaede begged the Miko in front of her.
Kikyo gripped the necklace in her palms. “Take the jewel, Kaede, and see that it is burned with my body.” She held it in front of both herself and the little girl.
She stayed quiet for a bit.
‘Fifty years have passed since then.’
Kaede looked ahead to the fire pit before answering the girl’s request. “If one must if ye want-” The woman was cut off by explosions happening from outside.
The two jumped into action and ran outside. “What’s going on?” The two gasped as they caught sight of a Yokai.
“Oh!”
“It’s a monster!"
[F/N]’s eyes widened at the sight of the woman again. She looked closely and realized what they were. “ That's an Oomukade !” She gasped harshly as she took a step back.
She looked up and quickly grabbed the priestess out of the way of a falling horse. “Are you okay, Kaede-Sama??” She checked the elderly woman as the priestess stared at her with a softer gaze.
“I am alright. Is ye alright as well?”
[F/N] smiled. “I’ll be fine!”
However, the demon woman interrupted their little bonding moment. “ Give me the sacred Jewel !” The Yokai flew down towards the duo and separated them.
She went back and did the same thing again. Kaede blinked for a moment before recalling what the Yokai said. “It said ‘Sacred Jewel’ . Are ye its till?” She turned towards the middle schooler with a look of shock.
“Huh? Wha- I don’t know?? I’ve only known of this jewel ‘cause of a book from a library!!”
Their attention was again returned to the demon woman, who seemed to be deflected by a man with a bow and arrow. She screeched, “ I must have it. I must !” She transformed herself into a replica of a tornado and flung the men away.
‘Just like in the well… And it only mentions it right before coming at me! I need to lure it away…’
The two uninjured men backed in front of [F/N] and Kaede. “Spears, arrows… Nothing works!”
Kaede frowned. “We must lure it to the dry well.”
The black-haired girl paused before turning to the Miko. “The dry well?”
“In the forest of Inuyasha.”
“I see… Which way is the forest again??”
The woman looked at her quizzically before answering her. “Tha-” She raised her hand to point but was accidentally cut off by the modern girl.
“The area where the rip-offs of the northern lights are coming from?” She quickly started to run off towards the forest before she heard the lady calling out to her.
[F/N] knew that the demon was following her since she was able to hear it. She tsked and used her Quirk and floated away, using her feet as a boost.
“I’ll make it follow me, so get to safety, okay??” She shouted back to the villagers as they stared in awe.
“How is it that she can see but cannot be seen in the forest of Inuyasha?”
“Is she flying-??!!”
The girl started to sweat as the drawback of her Quirk started to catch up to her. “Dammit! If I hadn’t used my Quirk all day, I wouldn’t be in this mess!... Shouto-Kun would be so disappointed…” She sighed.
She looked back and saw that the demon was starting to catch up to her. “Shit!” She looked back to the front. “C’mon! Just a little help would be nice!!”
Far into the forest, the same sliver-haired boy who was essentially chained to the truck of the old tree, started to pulse aura-like patterns. His hand twitched as his nails flexed.
He brought the hand up to his face, only to grip nothing as he stared into the distance with a glare. “I smell it… The blood of the woman who killed me, and it’s coming closer.” He went to take the arrow out but was repealed by its spiritual power.
[F/N] used the hill to her advantage and quickly pushed herself off of it as a booster while the demon still gave chase. “ The Jewel!... Give it to me !”
The 15-year-old glared at the ground as she kept floating away. “I told you already! I don’t fucking have it!!” She was flung forward as the woman crashed into the dirt behind her, sending debris everywhere.
She spun in the air before landing in front of the familiar tree from early noon. She groaned but paused when an unfamiliar voice started to berate her.
“Hello, Kikyo . Playing with bugs now, are we?”
[F/N] looked up, squinting as the boy who was previously unconscious, suddenly awake and mocking her. “You’re awake… And annoying too already… ” She muttered.
“Why you taking so long to kill it? Just do her like you did me.” He smirked. He looked down at her, glaring at the injured girl. “You look pretty dumb there, Kikyo.”
“Huh-?”
“The Kikyo I know wouldn’t waste her time.”
[F/N] huffed, annoyed by the minute. “Okay, that’s it.” She floated up to the boy, who blinked in confused shock. “Kikyo this, Kikyo that. I don’t give a flying Hawks who she is, but she isn't me! The names’ Shimura [F/N]! Or, it might soon be Todoroki by the time I’m a hero, but that doesn’t matter right now !!”
“Shut up! She’s here.”
[F/N] blinked before turning around. There, she was jumpscared by the demon woman. The girl flinched and deactivated her Quirk as she dodged the Yokai’s attempt at grabbing her again.
However, the Yokai wasn’t successful as two spears impaled her. She turned to see the village men all looking at her determinedly as they fired more.
“Good! Now pull!!” The men pulled on the spears, ultimately saving the girl.
“Oh thank god..!” [F/N] sighed in relief before it was squashed by the boy still rooted to the tree.
“You’re pathetic, Kikyo.”
“Shut up, you hairless mu-!” She stopped herself and sighed. She stood up and stared right into the boy’s eyes. “Like I said, I’m Shimura [F/N]. I am not her. I bet we don’t even look the same!!”
“And what I’m saying is that you have to be her! ‘Cause if you’re not, there’s no way that you could smell so much like-” He stopped before taking a whiff.
[F/N] glared as he started to stutter. “Y-You’re not her..”
“Well duh! I’ve been telling you! [F]-[N]!”
The silver-haired boy turned away, bashfully. “You’re right. Kikyo was cuter, way cuter.”
[F/N] tsked at his audacity. She yelped though as she felt the familiar, cold hands on her again. She grits her teeth as she grasps the boy’s bangs.
“Let go of me, you creep!!” She frowned while the other hissed in pain.
“Ow, ow, ow!! You let go!!”
While [F/N] was struggling, a man from the village gasped. “Inuyasha has been revived!”
Kaede froze. ‘How can that be? The seal should have held forever !’
The Oomukade shrilled. “ Give me the Sacred Jewel !”
Inuyasha paused for a moment, narrowing his eyes. ‘Sacred Jewel ?‘
The woman had enough and opened her mouth, revealing sharp, saber-toothed teeth. The yokai launched herself over to the black-haired girl before a bright, pink light stopped her.
[F/N]’s hand outstretched to the demon, causing it to let her go. She fell to the ground before quickly getting back up. She looked behind her only to see three more arms falling off of the Oomukade.
“That happened again, huh… Back at the well where this all began…” [F/N] looked down at her hands; the village folk gasped at the display. “Is this a Quirk? Impossible, my family isn’t genetically able to have Dual-Quirks like Shouto-Kun’s…”
Meanwhile, the side of her torso began to glow. “What the-?” While she was distracted, the demon came back, clamping her mouth in the same area the light was coming from.
The Yokai threw her into the air, causing [F/N] to yelp in pain as she was forcefully sliced open. As she started to fall, she opened her eyes only to see a round jewel falling beside her.
‘Is that the Jewel of the Four Souls? What was it doing inside of me…?’
She fell to the ground roughly after hitting the Oomukade’s lower body multiple times. The jewel rolled closer to Inuyasha while [F/N] was starting to stand up, with great difficulty.
“Give me the jewel, quick!”
[F/N] blinked confusion as she groaned. “Huh-?”
“Hurry!”
She didn’t get much time to decide before the demon’s centipede body closed in on them both. [F/N] hissed at the pain while Inuyasha stayed looking ahead.
The Oomukade loomed closer to the dup with a blank look. “ I heard some Hanyou spawn was after the Sacred Jewel. It’s you , isn’t it?” Inuyasha glared at the woman while [F/N] looked at her from the side.
‘I feel like this is an underlying tone of blatant racial discrimination…’ She deadpanned.
“Half’s all I need to kick your scaly ass. Anything more than that would be a waste of my time.”
[F/N] sighed. “Okay, buddy. Enough with the useless yapping. You’re thinking ‘Go big or go home’ but now is not the time for that!!”
Inuyasha blinked. “Huh?”
“What I’m trying to say is, think shit thoroughly!! Back up your shit talking!!”
The Hanyou thought while the Oomukade smirked. “ What can he do, pinned there like that, or you for that matter? You’re powerless to stop me .” The demon leaned down to where the jewel sat.
“ You’re helpless, the both of you !” She laughed before swallowing the jewel whole.
Inuyasha became outraged at that, struggling in his predicament. “Don’t you dare!”
“It swallowed the jewel!”
“Lady Kaede, what shall we do??”
While they were all freaking out, the Yokai’s limbs started to float towards the areas they were severed and reattached themselves.
“It’s arms…” [F/N] tsked.
The Oomukade’s body started to show signs of myoclonus before eventually having her skin peel off. Under it, it revealed a desaturated purple with pink blobs. Her face became monstrous as she sighed. “ At last, my power is complete .”
She tightened the grip her lower body had on the tree where the trapped duo were in. [F/N] grunted in pain, “She’s going to crush us both if we don’t… Get out!!”
The girl tightened her grip on the boy’s outfit as Inuyasha only looked at the woman. “Hey, can you pull this out?” He asked, referring to the arrow in his chest.
[F/N] looked up in confusion before she realized. “I might-.. Be able to..” She reached up her arm, slowly as she still felt pain.
Kaede leaped from her horse as she walked forward. “Nay, child. Once the arrow is removed, then Inuyasha will be free to destroy us all!”
“Don’t be stupid, you old hag! At least with me, you’ve got a chance, whereas that thing is gonna eat you!” He shouted, referring to the mutating demon.
Inuyasha looked down at the struggling girl. “And what about you? Are you ready to die yet?”
[F/N] paused before looking up at the Hanyou. “No… I.” She grabbed the arrow tightly. “I chose to..” She quickly pulled it out, shouting.
“I chose to be a hero!!”
A bright pink light blinded everyone, including the boy it was trapping. The arrow vanished, causing the Miko anguish.
“It’s gone, my sister’s spell banished!”
The light soon disappeared after it surrounded Inuyasha. A pulsing sensation could be heard and felt as [F/N] looked up in confusion. “Um… Inuyasha?...”
After a few seconds, the boy started to chuckle. Then, it turned into maniacal laughter. The Oomukade looked at the boy with her new form. The Yokai seemed to glare before she used her lower body to slam against the two in the tree.
Seconds later, Inuyasha burst out of it, causing [F/N] to fall to the ground thanks to the force. She grunted as she landed harshly, looking up to see the Hanyou leaping over the demon.
“ Wicked child .”
Inuyasha smirked as he shot an attack at the woman. “Nasty hag!”
The two launched at each other, pulling their own attacks. The Oomukade screeched while Inuyasha grinned.
“Iron-Reaver Soul-Stealer!!”
His nails elongated before they tore right through the woman’s entire body, starting with her face and ending with her centipede body. Inuyasha smirked at his deed before landing on the ground just in time to see the damage he had done.
[F/N] blinked in shock as she looked around. “Holy… This is some Pro-Hero level…” She flinched as one of the centipede pieces started to twitch.
She jumped back, “Oh, Jesus!! Why’s it still moving??” She looked behind her to see Kaede and the rest of the men.
“Find the glowing flesh, quickly! That’s where the jewel will be. It must be removed at once, lest the flesh of Mukade Joro revive.”
“There’s no way! That’s crazy!!” [F/N] shivered before looking around frantically. That’s when she gasped in relief at a shine coming from one of the pieces of the woman.
She pointed towards it as the men closed in on it. “There! It’s that one!” As it was sliced open, Kaede approached it before taking out the Jewel. Right as she inspected it, the body of Mudake Joro turned to ash.
The priestess cleared her throat before turning to the middle schooler. [F/N] blinked in confusion before being handed the jewel. “Huh? But- Isn’t this yours?”
Kaede shook her head. “Only ye may possess the Sacred Jewel…” She frowned.
‘Ye who so resemble the dead Kikyo Onee-Sama.’
“All I’m wondering is how it got inside of me… Surely the doctors would’ve seen it with their X-rays…” [F/N] sighed. She looked at the older woman with a soft look. “Why would these demons want this jewel so badly anyway…?”
Their conversation was cut short by the sound of the remaining bones being crushed. The two turned only to see Inuyasha staring at them with a glare.
“Exactly. Humans can’t use it, so why bother to keep it? If you hand over the jewel right now, I won’t have to start sharpening my claws on you.” He threatened.
“And here I thought you were an ally.” [F/N] glared back, tsking as she hid the jewel in her skirt pocket.
Inuyasha scoffed as the village men surrounded him.
Kaede, who was in front of the teenager, pushed her back further with her arm. “Pay no heed to Inuyasha, child.”
[F/N] frowned as her side started to glow. ‘Since this jewel can make demons more powerful, it’s of high value…’ She furrowed her eyebrows before looking away.
‘Dammit! If only I’d finished the book!!’ She cried in her mind.
“I hate having to wait.” [F/N] turned back to the Hanyou, placing a protective hand on top of her pocket. “And I hate the smell of you.”
Inuyasha placed a foot forward before leaping into a full-on sprint towards the girls. [F/N] glared before turning around to run. She smirked before jumping into the air, activating her Quirk.
While doing so, Inuyasha missed his attack on her. She landed on her feet while the Hanyou skitted to a stop. “Want me to scratch your back?” He cracked his wrist as he flexed his nails.
“That’s some villain-type behavior! Attack a defenseless, lowly middle schooler for the fun of it, only to want to kill them. That’s not very sigma.” The girl mocked.
Inuyasha froze for a moment. “Wha-?”
That’s when the men from the village started to shout.
“Shoot him! Quickly!”
“Shoot him!”
Inuyasha turned around to block the incoming arrows before rushing toward the crowd of men. He flexed his nails before slicing the trees around them.
The trees started to fall on top of them before they started to scramble around screaming. The men barely dodged the falling debris as Inuyasha landed on a stump. He scoffed, “Who do you people think I am? You think you can hurt me like I did that centipede?”
One of the men fearfully spoke to the priestess, “Kaede-Sama, methinks mayhap that we- might have.. chanced the centipede.” He quivered.
Kaede sighed. “Somehow I knew that it would eventually come to this.” She reached into her chihaya and pulled out a bead necklace.
While all of this was happening, [F/N] was already ahead, running. She panted as she felt slightly nauseous. “Thank Natsou for that… God, my stomach… ” She grumbled.
Inuyasha started to close in on her, jumping from tree to tree. “Prepare yourself!”
“For what? National Dog Day??” She looked back only to flinch at the approaching figure of the Hanyou. He slashed at the air above [F/N] as she luckily dodged at the last second.
She grunted as she landed on her face. She quickly stood up, checking her pocket before cursing. She looked around, only to gasp as the jewel rolled away from her.
As she was going to reach for it, she turned around only to wish she hadn’t. “Wha-?! Thank god he missed..” She gulped as behind her, were three identical slashes that thickened the further they went along the ground.
Inuyasha smirked as he used a tree as leverage and jumped off of it. “Now, It’s mine!” As he was still in the air, Kade was performing a ritual.
While doing so, dozens of small projectiles of the same pink glow shot forward to the silver-haired boy. They all gathered around his neck, confusing the Hanyou.
“Huh?”
He landed a little ahead of the jewel, distracted by the necklace now around his neck. “What the hell are these?”
[F/N] looked up, lost on what was happening. But she jumped when Kaede shouted towards her. “Quickly, child! The word of subjugation!”
[F/N] blinked. “ ‘Sub’ - wha??” She looked away from her and back to the jewel and Inuyasha. She reached for the jewel while Kaede continued with her instructions.
“It matters not what kind. Your word has power to hold his spirit.” [F/N] clasped onto the jewel. She launched herself into the air and floated across the cliff. She descended down but tripped on the rounded rocks on the floor.
“Dammit! What is this, plot convenience??” She quickly got back up as the jewel rolled over to a bridge. She ran towards it while Inuyasha leaped from above.
“Ha! How can you overpower me when you can’t even stand up straight?”
She tsked. ‘A word to hold his spirit… But how…’ She looked up at him before gasping in realization. “Of course!”
“Oh thank god..!” [F/N] sighed in relief before it was squashed by the boy still rooted to the tree.
“You’re pathetic, Kikyo.”
“ Shut up, you hairless mu- !” She stopped herself and sighed. She stood up and stared right into the boy’s eyes. “Like I said, I’m Shimura [F/N]. I am not her. I bet we don’t even look the same!!”
“That’s right!” She smirked while the Hanyou landed on the other side of the bridge. He knelt down and placed his hand in front of the still-rolling jewel.
“Sit, boy!”
This word caused the necklace around the boy’s neck to glow. It seemed like it pulled him down, shocking both him and the girl. He yelped in pain as the jewel rolled to a stop.
Both the shout and the grunt of pain echoed through the night as [F/N] blinked multiple times. She shook her head as she quickly walked over to the boy and jewel.
“Huh.. Just like a dog…”
Inuyasha sprung up as he started to tug at the beads. “What the hell is this thing??” He tried to pull it off but some force stopped him. He strained as the beads continued to flash.
“I’m sorry, Inuyasha, but even you lack the power to remove it.”
The boy scoffed. “We’ll see about that!” He pointed up to the old woman with a glare. “I’d come up there and finish you off, if you didn’t look half-dead already!”
[F/N] gasped, offended on the priestess's behalf while Kaede only simply had her eyes closed. “The word, please.”
“Gladly. Sit, boy.” The black-haired girl smirked.
The Hanyou slammed into the bridge as it finally gave out under the pressure. Inuyasha screamed before he fell into the water below. [F/N] blinked, deciding that using her Quirk was probably best if she didn’t want the same fate.
She floated above the bridge, grabbed the jewel, and floated back up to where the village folk were on. Kaede smiled at the girl before saying, “Well then, shall we head home?”
“That was kinda easy, now that Inuyasha has that necklace…”
[F/N] made her way back to Kaede’s hut, to which the Miko bandaged her up. “How’s that? Perhaps I’ll put more unguent on your belly.”
[F/N] groaned in slight pain as the priestess tightened the cloth around her midriff. She looked up to the woman before frowning. “Why won't you guys let me help? It was my fault that Mudake Joro almost destroyed your home… At least let me help in bringing supplies! My Quirk could be of use to you guys!”
“Ney, child. Rest easy. Now that the sacred Shikon no Tama is back among us, far worse than Mudake Joro will come to claim it.”
“Worse, huh…”
Kaede nodded. “And not just demons. There are humans whose hearts are more evil, still. And only the jewel has the power to make real their petty, grasping ambitions.”
[F/N] nodded. She sweat-dropped a little as she thought of her guardian. Or, more like ‘Father-in-Law’ . She shivered in disgust before looking ahead of the two.
“Speaking of which, what are you still doing here?” She glared at the form of Inuyasha, was was lying on his side, facing away from them.
The boy only turned his head with a nonchalant tone. “I’m waiting for the jewel.” He looked away with a glare while Kaede shook her head.
“With the beads around his neck, his threat is diminished. It is perhaps the only way we can allow him so close to the jewel.”
[F/N] tilted her head at the boy after hearing the Miko’s previous words. “Why’d you want the jewel anyway? Aren’t you already strong?” She looked at the jewel in her hand before looking back to the boy. “What stats haven’t you unlocked yet??”
Kaede stood up, looking at them both. “Ah, but he’s just half-demon.” [F/N] flinched as both she and the woman heard Inuyasha break the flooring with his fist.
“You know what? I’m sick of hearing some dried-up witch I just met talk like she knows me.” He grit his teeth while the woman sighs.
“So ye don’t remember. I thought as much.” She walked away from the two, explaining who she is, or was. “I’m younger sister to Kikyo, she who bound ye to the tree, Kaede.” She sat at the edge of her home as Inuyasha stared at her in disbelief.
“ You’re Kaede?”
The boy stared at her for a moment before replying. “ So you’re the brat, huh ?”
Kaede looked back at the boy. “Fifty years have passed and I have grown old.” She explained.
Inuyasha scratched his face, thinking. “If you’re this old, Kikyo must be pushing 100. I’m sure glad I don’t gotta worry about being old. ‘Least not for a while.”
[F/N] looked at him with envy. ‘Lucky…’
“Kikyo didn’t worry, either. Kikyo died.” Kaede revealed, fixing the firewood.
Inuyasha slowly opened his eyes to her words while the woman continued. “It was on the same day she shot ye with the arrow.”
The Hanyou smirked. “Gee, sorry to hear it. Not that I really care or nothing.”
[F/N] looked at him after he said this, noting something. ‘His voice got deeper… There was definitely something going on here…’
The boy turned away, going back to his previous position. “It’s one less thing for me to worry about.”
“I wouldn’t let my guard down just yet, Inuyasha.” Kaede turned around to face the two with a knowing look. “I now know that [F/N] is the reincarnation of my sister.”
The middle schooler blinked in surprise. “What?”
“And it isn’t just because ye resemble her.”
“The Jewel of Four Souls was in your body. That alone is proof enough.”
Meanwhile, the side of her torso began to glow. “What the-?” While she was distracted, the demon came back, clamping her mouth in the same area the light was coming from.
“It’s up to ye now, child, to take over its protection.”
[F/N] had tried to offer her help to reconstruct the destroyed houses, but was shrugged off and handed fruit. She blinked as they shooed her away to enjoy the day.
She sighed as she gently caressed the jewel around her neck. ‘Me? Protecting this?? I can’t do that… Especially with training…’ She frowned and let the jewel dangle around her.
She resumed her walking along the stream but paused when she saw the townsfolk all bowing to her. She flinched and quickly continued on her way. “I gotta get home..” She blushed.
Meanwhile, Inuyasha was looking across the field as he sat on top of a tree branch. “She died and I never knew.” He frowned. While he was thinking, he caught a finger about to poke at him.
He glared in that direction, only to blink in confusion at the sight of the black-haired girl from earlier, floating next to him, holding some fruit.
“Do you want to eat some?” [F/N] asked.
Inuyasha looked at all the different types of food and supplies the girl had and tilted his head. “Where’d you get all that stuff from?”
[F/N] smiled. “The villagers gave them to me. Let’s get down from here so we can eat. I’m starving, that's for sure.” She smiled. She floated down onto the grass and took out a pear.
She bit into it after setting down the produce. Inuyasha jumped from the branch and landed on the ground next to her. He stared at her eating, glaring.
“Whatever you’re up to, I ain’t buying it.”
[F/N] raised a brow. “Buying what?” She chewed before finishing her bite. “Listen, it’s fair to say you don’t like me, right?” She looked at the boy with a dead-pan.
“Wayyyyyyy more than fair.” He spat after chewing on a white radish.
The girl sighed. “Whatever. It’s not even me you dislike. It’s the Kikyo girl that you do.” She looked at the boy as he discarded the vegetable before leaping back into the tree.
She sighed, grabbing the radish and floating up to hand it to the boy. “Look, like I said last night, I’m not Kikyo. I’m [F/N]. Why not get along?” She threw the radish onto the boy’s side.
He glared at her before jumping up. “Hah! I knew it!” He pointed at her with the partially chewed radish. “What you don’t get is that I’m only after the jewel! You’re just trying to lure me into a false sense of security!”
“Really now? Now why would someone wanting to be a hero want to break someone’s trust? It’s funny because all I have to do for that to happen is to say the word ‘Sit’ and you go down-”
She was cut off by the boy falling onto his face.
She breathed in harshly before descending down to the floor. She crouched next to the boy. “Sorryyyy, Inuyasha…” She pats his back.
The boy grumbled as he shakily looked up. “Oh, man…” He frowned.
As nightfall fell, [F/N] and Kaede were lying beside the fire inside the latter’s home. The black-haired girl stared up at the ceiling, thinking.
“It’s been two whole days since I’ve been here… Thank god the entrance exam is in ten months…” She turned to her side somberly. “Still… Shouto-Kun, Fuyumi-Chan, and Natsou-San must be worried…” She sighed.
She closed her eyes, frowning. ‘There has to be a way I can get back to that damn well without being ambushed… Thanks, Kaede-Sama for making me paranoid .’ She cried sarcastically.
Soon enough, daytime came. However, a couple of hours before that, [F/N] had awakened. She walked up the hill and looked back towards the village.
“Sorry, Kaede-Sama. But, I have to get home.” She turned back and continued walking in the direction of Inuyasha’s forest. While so, she was oblivious to the worried shouts of the townspeople.
[F/N] hummed a song while walking through the forest. She dodged the branches in her way as she continued. She stopped when she finally saw the well and sighed in relief.
“Oh, thank All Might. I found it.” She smiled. “If I came out of the well in the first place, then it’ll take me back.” She observed. As she was about to approach it, she was ambushed.
She yelped as men surrounded her. They took ahold of her, though through great struggle as she fought back.
She struggled through her bindings as one of the men pushed her head onto the ground, harshly. They all chuckled as one of them turned ahead. “Hey, boss! We caught the girl just like you said we should!”
A bigger fella laughed. “Her kimono’s longer than mine.” He then turned to [F/N]. “You gonna catch a cold if you don’t dress longer.” He tugged at the girl’s skirt.
[F/N] frowned. ‘Thank god it reaches my knees or I swear I’ll die of embarrassment…’ She looked up and harshly stared at them all. “Careful, that’s an expensive uniform! It costs more than my life!!” She screeched.
The men chuckled. “You afraid our hands too dirty for ya, princess?”
“Marry me and I’ll buy you a new one.”
The girl backed away with a scowl. “I doubt you could even afford a replacement.”
“Hand over the jewel, right now.”
A deep voice cut through their conversation. [F/N] looked over and lightly gasped at the man’s pale skin. The man stood up, laughing maliciously. He walked over to the girl, slightly swaying as he did.
The tall man then unsheathed his katana from the saya where his obi resided. When the underlings saw this, they quickly grabbed onto the girl with smirks.
“Watch where you put your hands!!” She shouted at the two men.
They laughed instead of feeling threatened. “Hey, boss, try taking it off in one swing like a dandelion.” [F/N] started to struggle to get away as the taller man raised his katana blade.
“Stop squirming!”
“No!”
The man who yelled at her was then struck with the blade. [F/N] and the other henchman shouted in surprise and fear at the show.
“What’d you do that for?” He stuttered as he finally lay dead on the floor.
The rest of the underlings stared in horror at the display. Soon enough, their boss started to walk closer to them with a blank smirk. “Whoopsie.” He chuckled.
[F/N] glared before quickly dodging another attack her way. “Go, go, go!” She urged the rest of the party to run. The boss kept attacking them, swinging without a care in the world.
The girl tsked, looking around as debris started to fall around them. She yelped as she was once again grabbed.
“Boss! Boss! Where are you aiming??” They cried. “She’s who you want!” They pushed the middle schooler with fearful expressions.
[F/N] gulped. “Hold on! Can’t you see something is going on with your boss?? He seems sickly! I mean, look at his skin!! It isn’t healthy!!” She smacked the men in the heads and glared. “If you guys don’t lock in, then we’ll all die in here!”
The men blinked at her before looking behind her. Fearfully, they lowered their bodies while [F/N] thankfully got the hint at the last second. Because of that, the sword barely missed her head.
That’s when they all started to run in different directions, screaming at the top of their lungs.
‘I hate Feudal Japan!!’
While running, the only person the boss targeted was the modern girl. [F/N] ran around while the man slashed all around him in trying to hit her. While doing so, he blocked the only exit up with falling debris from the ceiling.
The henchmen who were heading towards it quickly fell back to not get hurt. [F/N] gasped and quickly ran to their aid. She crouched down and lifted up the piller trapping one of the men.
Another guy helped the man out while [F/N] let the object fall afterward.
“We gotta go around. It’s blocked!”
The girl turned around and started to check the man for injuries. “You can stand, right? Nothing hurting? Any bruises??” She frowned.
“Thank you for saving my life, ma’am..”
They all turned around to see their former boss standing in the middle of the room.
“I want the jewel. Give it to me.”
[F/N] glared.
‘All this for the damn, stupid jewel… I have to get it back to modern Japan..’
Kaede nodded. “And not just demons. There are humans whose hearts are more evil, still. And only the jewel has the power to make real their petty, grasping ambitions.”
“Dammit, I should’ve taken it more seriously.” She glared as she and the men silently scooted to the side. But the boss still took notice of them. They paused for a moment before continuing. However, the men didn’t really catch the hint and screamed as they hid behind the girl.
[F/N] dead-panned at the group as they all nervously chuckled. Though they all scream, including [F/N], in fear as the boss goes to attack them once again.
They quickly scatter as the attack hits the wall behind them. [F/N] turns to look and jolts in realization. Her eyes trail to the jewel around her neck. “He’ll go after the jewel, no matter what… ” She smirked deviously.
She turned to the group with a grin. “You guys go hide, I got this.” The confused underlings stared at her as she ripped the jewel off of her neck and threw it outside the building.
The boss in front of them looked over in the direction of which it went, seemingly in a daze.
“The jewel, give it to me.”
She nodded and turned around to the group. She pointed to the wall the boss had previously attacked with a determined look in her eyes.
“Push the wall out, go!” She ordered as she joined in. The men nodded and followed her directions. They all rammed their shoulders into the wall, watching as it crumbled under all their weight.
“It’s no good boss!”
“I’m not your boss! And keep pushing!” She turned around but gasped when the previous boss swung at her. She grit her teeth and went to dodge but paused when she heard the blade break.
She looked up and blinked at the sight of Inuyasha in front of her. The silver-haired Hanyou kicked and punched the boss’s face until the man fell to the ground.
Inuyasha landed on the ground gracefully, before turning to the girl. The men all ran to the new opening, not before thanking the black-haired girl.
“Thanks, boss! We’re out of here now!”
[F/N] waved at them, avoiding the boy’s gaze from behind her. Once they left, she turned around to look at the boy who was now looking at the fallen form of the pale man.
“You actually came. Wow, that’s a shocker.”
Inuyasha ignored her sarcasm. “Is it safe? Where’s the jewel?”
“ Ah !”
He flinched. “Ah-, no! Tell me you did not just say that!”
The girl smiled sheepishly before quickly running to the old entrance. The boy went to follow her but froze as a scent came to his nose. He blocked it as he turned around, now seeing the taller man standing up.
“What is that smell?? It’s like rotting meat or-” His eyes widened as a whole crow head appeared in the man’s torso. [F/N], hearing him, turned around and jumped a bit.
“What the hell is that?!” She screeched.
“How much you wanna bet that bird ripped his living heart out and made itself a bloody nest?”
[F/N] frowned. “That explains the pale appearance… This man’s a living Slappy the Puppet.”
Inuyasha stared at her for a moment, confused, but shrugged it off. “Shibugarasu crows don’t fight on their own when there’s dead bodies handy.” He crouched down. “They ain’t so tough. But they’re hella annoying!” He leaped at the man with his hand thrusting into the man’s chest.
Since the boy targeted the hole, this caused Shibugarasu to be pushed out. It fled over [F/N]’s head as the Hanyou landed on the floor. The dead man slowly fell to the ground, turning to bone as Inuyasha stood up.
[F/N] glared at the crow, quickly following after it. “C’mon Inuyasha, the damn crow’s getting away!!”
The boy sighed. “This world’s full of monsters. You want I go after ‘em all?”
“Uh, maybe just this one right now??” [F/N] blinked rapidly.
“Shuddup! You want to start doing the fighting? Be my guest.” [F/N] rolled her eyes before finally poking out of the rubble to the other side. Inuyasha joined her after a few seconds and pulled her out.
“In the meantime, where’s the jew-!” He screeched as the two saw the damn crow carrying the jewel in its beak. “That stupid crow is making off with the jewel!” He turned to the girl with a furious look.
“What’s wrong with you??!”
[F/N] glared. “What do you mean, ‘What’s wrong with you’ ??! Go after it!!” She shouted at him. The boy growled before grabbing her wrist.
“Come on!” He ran, dragging the girl behind him. [F/N] frowned before activating her Quirk for it to be easier. But she flew above him thanks to the sudden stop Inuyasha made.
“Woah! Watch it!” She looked down at the boy, blinking at his distracted face. She looked over to where his head was facing and tilted her head.
“Oh! Arrows! That’ll come in handy!!” She deactivated her Quirk and ran to the horses after tugging her hand free. She grabbed the bow and the arrows and quickly ran back to the boy.
“Let’s go!” She ran ahead while the boy sighed, following afterward. [F/N] launched herself into the air before Inuyasha snatched her.
She looked down at the boy’s back, confused. “Huh?”
“Come on!” He ran faster.
The girl nodded and held onto the boy’s red robe. The boy leaped from tree to tree, chasing after the bird. [F/N] narrowed her eyes as she grabbed the bow.
Inuyasha, still staring ahead, wasn’t aware of her plan at the moment. “Well, aren’t you gonna shoot at it?!”
“Shut it!” She huffed before taking out an arrow and lined it up with the bow. She closed one of her eyes as she aimed it at the animal. She pulled the arrow back before releasing it.
She missed but that was enough of a scare for the bird to swallow the jewel. “Shit! The crow swallowed it!”
“WHAT?!”
“Dammit!! Go faster!” She shouted at the Hanyou. The boy rolled his eyes but did as so.
‘After she takes out the crow, it’s her turn.’
“Kikyo was a master archer. Take it in one shot!”
[F/N] sighed. “Way to put the pressure on me!” She looked up before shouting, “The name’s [F/N], in case you forgot!”
As they got closer, [F/N] carefully stood up on his back. She jumped into the air, activating her Quirk before aiming the arrow again. She released it again, but once again missed as the bird flew downward.
She tsked and floated back down as Inuyasha fell to the ground face-first. “You damn klutz!”
“What?! It’s not my fault that the fucking bird dodged it!! I’m not a klutz! I doubt you know how to fire an arrow.” She then pointed to herself. “Luckily for me, I know how to! I literally took classes on how to!!”
The two turned to the bird in the sky as it got bigger.
“Look how it’s evolving?”
[F/N] frowned. “Just like a Pokémon…” She sighed. “Though it’s not even on their level…”
“The hell’s a Pokémon??”
“Nothing.”
The two took off again, making sure to get as close as possible to the avian. [F/N] fired another arrow, this time only scratching it. She cursed as Inuyasha scoffed.
As the girl floated down, the boy turned to her, angered. “I don’t care what the old lady says! You! Are not! Kikyo! You got that??” He turned away, ready to leave. “I am so out of here!”
“You damn jerk!”
The girl ran through the forest where the sounds of screaming could be heard. She inhaled sharply as she forced her body to go faster. She made it to the dock and quickly launched herself into the air and floated over to the bridge where the townsfolk gathered.
She came to a stop at the railing, yelling out to the Hanyou running along the trees.
“Inuyasha, no! You’ll injure the kid!”
“Shut up!” He jumped down to the edge of the river and jumped back up. He raised his hand as he shouted.
“Iron-Reaver Soul-Stealer!”
His attack hit the bird, which ultimately saved the boy. But, he fell into the water, scaring the village folk. [F/N] tsked as she hurriedly took off her shoes and threw herself into the water.
Inuyasha skitted to a stop, looking around the water. “Where is it? Where’s the jewel??” He looked around before his gaze went up to the girl swimming past him.
He blinked and watched the girl get closer to the little boy.
[F/N] got closer and closer before she had her hands on the boy. She smiled as she used the momentum of the currents to launch herself out of it with the help of her Quirk.
“Woah..”
“How is she able to do that?”
“She’s a water imp, I tell ya! A Kappa!! She’s not human at all!”
“But can’t she fly?”
“That’s not Kappa behavior…”
She flew over the stream and landed softly on the ground, where the boy’s mother ran to them. She hugged the boy closely to her as [F/N] smiled sadly.
“Save the jewel, stupid! The jewel!” Inuyasha shouted.
[F/N] irked before turning around. “Who cares!!? I’m more worried about the boy here!” She glared and turned around to ignore him.
Inuyasha sputtered at the girl’s behavior. “Hu- Wha- A!”
She looked down at the boy, who was tugging at her skirt. She smiled as the boy looked up at her with stars in his eyes. “Thanks for saving me.”
The mother nodded as she bowed. “Thank you, thank you! Thank you!!”
“It’s fine.” She chuckled. “It’s what a hero would do anyway.” She smiled.
That’s when they all flinched as a splash was heard from the water. [F/N] quickly turned around and glared. Inuyasha then shouted across the river, pointing towards the fleeing bird.
“Hey, it’s getting away!!”
“I see that!” She frowned but almost snapped her neck when she heard the boy squirming in fright. She turned him around and saw that the bird’s talons were gripping the boy.
She smirked before facing one of the men. “Hey, I need your bow and one arrow, is that okay?”
The man nodded. “Sure.”
[F/N] grabbed the arrow first and carefully pried the foot off of the boy. She looked around for something to tie it but didn't, so that’s when she decided to rip the lower part of her skirt.
She tied both the arrow and foot together before she finally grabbed the bow from the man. She aimed the bow carefully before releasing it once more. She held her breath as the arrow didn’t seem to lose momentum.
It got closer and closer before hitting the bird right in the chest.
She jumped up in joy at that, happy to have finally hit the damn, stupid bird.
“Woo!!”
The rest of the villagers joined her, but they all stopped when the glowing of the jewel didn’t seize. Then, they all blinked in shock as small projectiles shot across the sky in every direction.
This is when the priestess finally joined them.
“Kaede-Sama, those lights!” One of the men pointed above as the woman stared, deeply disturbed.
“Oh, my. And I like not the looks of it.”
Both Inuyasha and [F/N] traveled through the forest, looking around for where the lights landed. It had turned into the evening, as they looked for several hours.
“Are you sure it fell around here?” The boy asked the black-haired girl.
[F/N] nodded. “I’m positive one of them did. Still, aren’t you also worried about that little meteor shower?” The two heard rustling and turned, only for [F/N] to jump in fright as the head of the Shibugarasu launched at them.
That's when Inuyasha decided to jump in, slashing at the head. Thankfully, the head got destroyed, but something fell out of it.
The girl worriedly crouched down towards it and gasped in horror. “Oh no! Is that-?!”
“What is it then..” The boy looked at her.
She grabbed the shard and held it close to her face. She inspected it before frowning. “I think it’s a piece of the jewel.”
The silver-haired boy froze.
“What- What did you say??!!”
