"Izu, please." Hitoshi begged, his large hands clinging onto the greenette's smaller ones. "You are the one I love! I don't want to mate with or mark anyone else, especially not some prince of another country. I've never even met Prince Shoto! Please, I beg you, please agree to be my mate."
Izuku sighed, he wanted to be free to openly love his prince, but it just wasn't allowed. "Toshi, I'm sorry. I can't. I want to, Kami do I want to, but we aren't allowed. Your dame and sire wouldn't allow it. I'm beneath you." He was crying, his heart breaking into a million pieces.
Prince Hitoshi growled, "So what if they won't allow it?! They can't stop it once we've already marked each other!" He was yelling now, his voice bouncing off of stone walls but he couldn't care. He wanted his omegan best friend, his confidant, his lover. His.
Izuku opened his mouth, looking over the purplette's shoulder before shutting it again. Eyes cast downward to the ground and instantly, Hitoshi knew who had walked up behind him.
"Midoriya, I do believe Sir Nighteye and Sir Nedzu were looking for you."
Izuku bowed, nodding his head, "Yes, your Majesty. I shall be off at once. Thank you." Hitoshi could only watch as the man he loved scurried away from him and out of sight. He turned, "Mama, I want Izuku! I don't want any other omega. Please, please let me be with him."
Shouta sighed. He knew how badly his pup had fallen in love with the young Midoriya, He pulled Hitoshi in close, wrapping his arms around the other's shoulders. "I'm sorry, Tosh. I wish I could. But King Enji has promised war if we did not merge our kingdoms in marriage and while our army is stronger, his outnumbers ours 3 to 1."
Hitoshi stood up straight, eyes narrowing as he thought of the position he was being forced into simply because King Enji was a tyrannical asshole. "I'm not mating or marking that Prince and you cannot make me!" He stormed off, leaving his dame alone in the hallway.
King Shouta sighed, walking away towards the throne room where he knew he'd find his mate. Maybe Hizashi could help him figure something out that would make their pup happy again.

Or not.
Hizashi and Sir Nedzu tried for hours to figure out a way around King Enji's decree without causing a war in some shape or form, but ended the session with no luck.
"I'm sorry, my Kings. It seems as though even my Intelligence is not enough to help the prince. The only way we can see out of this is if either King Enji changed his mind or if Prince Shoto was no longer eligible. I shall keep trying though." Nedzu stated. He was one of a kind, an animal born with a quirk that gave him enough intellect to be able to speak and perform feats most, if not all, humans would be hard pressed to perform.
Shouta had been lucky to find him during a night attack on some raiders, the men having Nedzu muzzled and chained, as well as inside a metal crate. He’d been freed and once healed, offered his gratitude, vowing to serve The House Aizawa until he died.
Shouta nodded, "I understand Nedzu. Thank you for trying. Hitoshi will just have to understand." He looked at the clock on the wall, "Shit. King Enji and his son are due to arrive in the next hour." Nedzu squeaked as the door boomed open and a messenger arrived, the letter in his hand going straight into Nedzu's paw. The stoat read quickly before his ear flicked. "Actually, sir, it seems that King Enji is unable to attend and has sent his heir in his place. Crown Prince Touya will be attending alongside his brother. As well as Princess Fuyumi and Prince Natsuo."
Hizashi frowned, "The whole lineage? Here? What happened to King Enji?" Nedzu shrugged, "Not sure, Sire, the letter doesn't say. However, it does inform us of the change as well as the fact that Crown Prince Touya would be needing to speak privately with us before dinner."
Shouta sighed, "That's fine. It'll take my mind off our son. Did their timeline of arrival change in any way?" Nedzu shook his head. "As far as we are aware, everything else is the same." Shouta nodded, clasping his mate's hand. "We shall meet both you and Sir Nighteye in the throne room then." They walked along the cold, stone halls until reaching the large room, both parents pleased to see their son standing just inside.
"Toshi. My son. Thank you for showing." Hizashi offered, pulling the man into a hug. Shouta could see Hitoshi sink against his sire before standing straight again. "Hello papa, mama. I may be upset and I still won't wed or mate this prince, but that doesn't mean I am going to dishonor you both and not see to our guests. You both raised me better than that."
Shouta sighed, smiling softly as he ran his fingers through Hitoshi's hair. "If it makes you feel any better, King Enji will not be joining us today. Seems he isn't available and only the princes and princess will be arriving." Hitoshi frowned, "But, I thought…" He trailed off, shaking his head. "Doesn't matter. Whether the giant asshole is here or not, I will not be marking or mating that prince. If I can't have Izuku, I shall die alone."
Hizashi and Shouta exchanged glances but didn't say anything. There wasn't much they could say. Instead, they simply settled into their thrones, draping regal fabrics around their legs while waiting for their guests to arrive. They didn't have to wait long, the Crown Prince and his siblings all being announced and entering quickly.
"Prince Touya. Princess Fuyumi. Prince Natsuo and Prince Shoto. We welcome you all to our lands. We heard from your runner that your father, King Enji would not be able to make it. I hope he is well." Hizashi declared. Crown Prince Touya sighed, "Well, about that. You see-" he cut off as the door opened once more and Shouta noticed a haggard Hanta Sero running inside.
"Apologies, my Kings. I have great need of Prince Hitoshi." Hanta gasped between ragged breaths. Hitoshi stepped forward, "Hanta, what is it?" Hanta bit his lip, "It's Izuku, sir. He's gone into a drop and nothing seems to be bringing him out of it. Healer Chiyo has already been to see him and she said that if he doesn't come out of it soon, he'll perish."
Hitoshi hissed, glancing back at his parents. Shouta swallowed, nodding sharply. "Go Hitoshi." He stated, ignoring the visiting royals. Hitoshi nodded, leaving with Hanta before the room was silent once again. "I am deeply sorry you had to see that, Prince Touya." Touya waved his hand, "Who is this Izuku?" Shouta and Hizashi exchanged glances before Shouta answered. "Izuku is Hitoshi's right hand advisor. And his lover."
Shoto giggled, the first bit of noise from anyone other than Touya himself. "To-to!" He giggled out. Touya smiled, "I know Snowflake. We'll talk to them." He turned back to the two, a smile on his face and his features relaxed. "You see, our father isn't joining us as he.. well, he's no longer the King of Endeavor."
Shouta and Hizashi gasped, standing from their chairs. "Oh?" Hizashi started, "I'm sorry for your loss. How did it happen?" Touya straightened his shoulders before answering. "He tried to kill us. Well, everyone but Shoto. Shoto did not want to wed your Hitoshi, not that they wouldn't have made a fine pairing, but Shoto wanted to find someone on his own and father did not agree. He tried to force Shoto to wed your son, and when that didn't work, thought to break him with our deaths. Unfortunately for father, I was stronger. No one in our kingdom knows of this fact other than my mate who is leading in my stead while I am gone. Word around the castle is that Father grew ill and is on bed rest while my mate cares for him and our people."
Touya straightened, "In 1 weeks' time, I will receive word that father has succumbed to his illness, and in 4 weeks' time after that, proper for that of mourning a fallen king, I shall be crowned King of Endeavor. We came to our meeting anyways in order to beg your forgiveness for breaking your arrangement with Father as well as seek an alliance with your country." Shouta chuckled, "We didn't want the arrangement either, Prince Touya. Your father threatened us with war should it not happen. Hitoshi will be pleased that he no longer is being forced to wed someone that isn't Izuku."
Shoto smirked, "He was cute, the courier that brought word." Hizashi frowned, thinking back to who Prince Shoto could be talking about. "Oh." He laughed, "You mean Hanta. He's actually Izuku's right hand. The two of them work together to seek out dangers to the crown as well as keep our son's inner circle safe." Hizashi smirked, "He's also an alpha that does not have a prospective mate."
Natsuo snorted, nudging his younger brother before winking at the blush that rose while Touya and Fuyumi laughed. Shouta smiled, "As for your other request, we'd love to become allies with your kingdom. We shall gladly arrive at your Crowning Ceremony at which time we will talk alliances." Shouta snapped his fingers and a knight entered the room. "Iida, please take the princes and princess to their rooms. I'm sure they would like to rest. Then, I would like for you to find Hanta and send him to me."
Iida bowed, leading the visiting royals away. The door shut solidly behind them allowing Shouta and Hizashi to laugh, relieved at the turn of events. "Hitoshi will be so happy." Hizashi giggled. Shouta nodded, "And we could do worse than Izuku for a son in law. He will be good for our son."
They left the throne room, walking silently down the hall, hands clasped together when they turned as someone ran towards them. "My kings!" They found Hanta out of breath as he got closer. "Uh, sorry, Your Highnesses, but I have a bit of information for you?" He offered, his voice wheezy and stilted. Shouta nodded, "Take a deep breath Hanta. It's ok."
Hanta stood after a few minutes, a grimace on his face. "Uh, sires, I… um. It seems Prince Hitoshi has… I mean. Ummm." He paused, swallowing hard before sturdying himself. "Prince Hitoshi visited Izuku and brought him out of his drop. But in doing so, Izuku fell into his heat which threw Prince Hitoshi into a rut?"
Shouta cackled while Hizashi froze. "Well, that should make things easier." Shouta said through his laughter, confusing Hanta. Shouta waved his hand, "Don't worry about it. We were going to tell you to let our son know that he's free to mate with Izuku seeing as Prince Shoto and Crown Prince Touya broke off their engagement. Speaking of which, please go to our guests' rooms and introduce yourself." Hanta frowned, "Me, sir?"
Hizashi grinned and nodded, "We would like for you to go and make sure that they are comfortable. Seeing as that is normally Izuku's job and he's rather…indisposed." Hanta nodded, giving a slight bow. "Yes sire. You can count on me!" He left the two quickly, turning the corner before either King had the ability to blink. Both giggled to themselves before continuing to their rooms, thankful that things were working out for the better.

"Announcing King Hizashi and King Shouta!"
"Announcing Crown Prince Hitoshi and High Prince Izuku!"
The small family of royals walked regally into the great hall, eyes forward and heads held high. It had been over a month since that visit by the Todoroki family and things had gotten better for both kingdoms.
Crown Prince Touya and his mate, High Prince Keigo, were being crowned as Kings. Their kingdom, having lost a powerful ruler, had gained so much in his place. Gone were the high taxes and low incomes. Gone were the insane death rates and forced army drafts of any young man within the land. Gone were the enemy wars and in came alliances, gold and wealth, life. Marriages and births filled each city, almost as if they had been waiting for a new king.
The group of four watched happily as their new friends found their own happiness, with one of their own standing at their ally's side. Hanta and Shoto had hit it off well, the dark haired alpha becoming enamored with the two toned omega prince to the point that he had chosen to return to the Todoroki Kingdom when it came time for the group of siblings to leave. Kings Hizashi and Shouta had blessed his travels, letting the alpha know that he was always welcome back in their home while Izuku cried over the leaving of his best friend.
In the end though, Izuku was happy as was Hitoshi, both thrilled with their accidental mating and marking that would garner no consequences other than the small little royal currently nestled within Izuku.
They met for their country, but they stayed for love.
