A hybrids journey

Summary:

Camp Cretaceous, but with an Indoraptor thrown into the mix.

Chapter 1: One wrong turn

Chapter Text

Escaping Toros enclosure was one thing, finding the way back was, as it turned out, quite another. Several minutes went by with them aimlessly wandering through the foliage until they finally found another hidden entrance to the underground network.

They quietly walked back towards the camp, until Kenji suddenly stopped, causing Darius to nearly bump into him.

“What, don´t tell me we got lost again.” Darius asked impatiently as he walked around Kenji to see what he´s looking at.

“Of course not.” The taller camper sneered. “I know exactly where we are. But this hallway...” He pointed at the dark side-corridor they stopped at ”is not supposed to be here.”

“Which means we went the wrong way.” Darius rolled his eyes.

“Whatever dude, I know where we are.” He started to walk towards the new corridor.

“Hey, where are you going? We have to get back.”

“I wanna see where this leads to.”

Darius stared for a bit after him in disbelieve, before sighning and reluctantly following him. They soon reached a metal door at the end of the hallway.

“There. It leads to a locked door. Now can we please go back before anyone noticed we´re gone?”

Darius pleas fell on deaf ears as Kenji went to open the door. He hoped it would be locked, but the older teen managed to push it open wih barely any resistance.

Kenji peeked into the next room and fully pushed the door open as he realised it is empty. Darius followed him into what looked like a secret lab. Rows of screens and machines lined up on all the walls.

What really caught the campers attention tho was the huge incubator in the middle of the room. Nine big, cream colored eggs were placed in a circle under a glass dome.

“What kind of dinosaur are they hatching here?” Darius asked in awe, more to himself.

“You tell me, Dino nerd.”

Darius walked closer to the dome, while Kenji looked around the room for some clues.

One of the eggs has started to shake slightly and soon a crack appeared on it, quickly followed by more cracks and quiet chirping.

Darius opened the glass dome, while muttering encouraging words to the hatching dinosaur. A tiny, black raptor eventually emerged from the egg and crawled towards him on four wobbly legs.

He held out one hand towards it and let it rubb against it, while using his other hand to remove a few egg shells still stuck to its back. The little dinosaur started to make a low, rumbling sound, that almost sounded like purring as Darius kept petting it.

“What is that?” Kenji asked from behind him. Golden eyes snapped open and stared past his shoulder at where he assumed Kenji was standing. The purring has stopped and it followed Kenjis movements with narrowed eyes.

Before Darius could stop him, Kenji reached for the hatchling to pet it aswell. It immediatly snapped at him, but luckily was still to uncoordinated to actually get him. He still pulled his hand away with a surprised yelp and Darius stopped petting it.

“No!” Darius scolded the baby, making it duck its head away and try to hide under his hand. It might be small now and probably wouldnt be able to do any damage, but it won´t stay like this for long.

“I don´t know what that is.” The dark skinned teen eventually answered and kept petting it. It still warily eyed Kenji as he got closer again, but made no attempt to bite him again.

“Looks like a raptor to me.”

“Yeah, but raptors don´t walk on all fours.” It focused on Darius again and made chirping noises. “I think it´s hungry. Help me look for some food and maybe a towel.” He picked the baby up and put it on the floor, before checking the nearby closets. Kenji went to the opposite side of the room to do the same.

“Maybe it´s some kind of crocodile?” The older camper theorised, while opening a few drawer.

Darius side-eyed the hatchling that was following him closely. “It might be, but then why does it have sickle claws like a raptor?”

“Found something.” Kenji called, holding up a pack of meat from what looked like a hidden fridge. He handed it to Darius and turned back around to keep looking around. Darius sat down on the floor and ripped open the package.

It took a bit of trying, but the dinosaur eventually figured out how to eat the food. Darius was about to give it a few more pieces when he suddenly heared two different voices coming from another door to their room.

He jumped up and hurried over to the other camper. Kenji had just picked up two more meat packs from the fridge as he froze when hearing the voices too.

“We need to leave, now!” Darius whispered urgently and started to dragg him towards the door they came in. He then stopped as he realised something. They can´t let the dinosaur run around outside of the hatchery or someone would notice they were here.

But as he went to grab the hatchling, it was nowhere to be seen. It was now Kenjis turn to dragg Darius out of the room as the voices has come dangerously close. They barely made it out as the other door opened and two scientists entered the lab.

Kenji noticed he was still holding the food and hid it under his clothes as they finally walked back to the camp. They unfortunately arrived to late and the others have noticed them gone. Darius quickly came up with the excuse of them having seen another escaped compy and went to try and catch it.

Roxie and Dave looked not entirely convinced by their story, but still went to check out the area while the kids got send back to their camp.

Chapter 2: What is that?

Chapter Text

They luckily got away scold free with their Compy story. Darius still couldn´t get that dinosaur out of his head. What species was it? What would happen to it now? Why was it suddenly gone? The more he thought about it, the more confused he got.

Darius was already laying in his bed to try and get some sleep, but the thoughts kept him awake. Something heavy suddenly landed on his stomach, making the kid sit up out of reflex. He was half expecting Kenji to pull a prank on him, only to be meet with two familiar yellow eyes.

Darius had to rub his eyes for a few seconds to make sure he wasn´t dreaming.

But no.

The dinosaur he had watched hatching just a few hours ago was now sitting on his lap and curling up to sleep. He petted its back and it made the low purring sound again.

The moment got ruined by a loud shriek and the sound of a glass shattering. Both Darius and the raptor turned to the source of the noise.

A very pale looking Ben was standing in the doorway leading to the kitchen area. Just some shards and a puddle on the floor were left from the glass of water he had went to get for himself.

“What is that?!” The scared teen asked, pointing at the black dinosaur on Darius lap. Before he could say anything, Kenjis annoyed voice came from his bed.

“Keep it down. Someone is trying to sleep.”

“I can explain.” Darius said to Ben, while picking the raptor up and putting it on the blanket next to him.

“Oh, really?” Ben asked, not sounding convinced at all.

“Well, you see...” Before he could explain anything further, Kenji cut him off again. The rich teen had by now got up to see whats going on.

“No way...” He looked down at the sleeping raptor. “You sneaked that thing into the camp?”

“What? No, I didn´t...”

“So it just followed us here and also knew how to use the elevator to get up here?”

“Yes. No. I mean...” Darius let out a tired sigh and turned towards Ben. “Look, can we talk about this tomorrow. So I can explain everything when Brooklyn, Sammy and Yaz are around, too?”

“Fine.” Ben hurried over to his bed, but then thought about something. “Wait, you´re not gonna let that thing stay in here the whole night, right?”

“It´s not a thing, Ben. It´s a baby.” He looked over to Kenji, who had already gone back to his bed aswell. “Hey, you still got those food packs from earlier?”

“In the kitchen, fridge.” Kenji muttered half asleep already.

“Great.” Darius quickly went to the kitchen and grabbed one of the packs. While he was gone, Ben and the raptor silently stared at each other.

After he was done feeding it, he put his blanket over them both and soon fell asleep. When he woke up the next morning, Ben was already up. The dark rings under his eyes made Darius questioning if he even got any sleep last night.

The little raptor was luckily still there. It rubbed its flank against his chest as greeting.

“Good morning, little guy.” Darius mumbled. I think you need a name, he thought while scratching it under it´s chin.

The baby started to chew on his finger, but without doing any real damage. Darius looked at it for a few moments until it clicked. “Oh, are you hungry?” It stopped chewing and stared at him with big eyes.

He chuckled to himself and threw the blanket off of them. “Okay, okay.” Instead of waiting, it jumped down the bed and followed him to the kitchen this time. The food was gone before he knew it and the raptor still looked like it wanted to eat more.

“Sorry, that was all.” Darius reached down and petted its head. Looking down at it, it seemed to be slightly bigger then yesterday. He aslo saw a thin purple stripe going down its side he hadn´t noticed before.

“Come on, let´s introduce you to the others.” He picked the raptor up and was gonna carry it in his arms, but it had other ideas. It climbed up his shoulder and sat there instead. Darius held one hand against its side just in case it lost its balance while they were walking.

He opened the door to the main area just enough to peek through. All the other campers were already sitting around the table and there was no sign of Roxie or Dave. Darius wanted to give it another minute, but Yaz had already noticed him.

“Darius.” She called out, turning the others attention to him aswell. “What´s going on?” And why is Ben keep saying you brought a pet in last night?”

Darius took a deep breath and fully pushed the door open, revealing the raptor sitting on his shoulder.

Everything became really quiet then. He felt the raptor tense under his hand from the sudden attention. Darius walked over and sat down with them. Brooklyn had to take a picture of the duo, making it flinch from the flash and almost fall off.

Darius picked the raptor from his shoulder and put it on his lap instead, hoping it would feel safer there. He then told them about everything that happened yesterday, while keep petting the dinosaur.

They soon reached the end of the story, falling into a short silence again.

“You know we should tell someone about it.” Yaz eventually said.

“I know, but...” Darius tried to argue.

“No but. It belongs to the park. This is basically stealing.”

“Awww, come on Yaz, look how cute she is.” Sammy said.

“Cute?” Ben asked in a high pitched voice. “That´s a dangerous carnivore.”

“Nah, just look at her.” Sammy reached for the sleeping raptor to pet it. Her head moved up and she snapped at the approaching finger, barely missing them by a few inches on purpose.

Sammy pulled her hand away again with a nervous laugh and Darius stopped petting the raptor.

“See?” Ben said, crossing his arms infront of his chest.

“Nah, I bet she´s just scared. She´ll warm up to us eventually.” Sammy tried to explain, but she didn´t even sounded convinced herself.

“Did you at least find out what kind of dinosaur that is?” Kenji asked.

Darius shook his head. “Not really. I kept thinking about it, but she doesn´t look like anything I have ever seen.”

Brooklyn then leaned a little closer to the raptor. “You know, I feel like I´ve seen it before, but I don´t know where...”

“Really? From a book or something?” Darius asked excitedly.

She thought for a moment, before shaking her head. “Can´t remember.”

“Oh, well, maybe you´ll remember it again later.”

“So, does she have a name yet?” Sammy asked, sounding more cheerfull again.

“I haven´t really come up with anything.” He looked down in thought and moved a finger over the black scales on her back. “How about Noir?”

“Awww, I love it.” Sammy clapped a few times, causing Noir to quietly hiss at the sudden loud noises.

They then got distracted by Roxies and Daves voices coming closer to them. Darius had barely enough time to hide Noir behind his back as the two adults entered the room.

“Hey guys.” Dave began, looking a little surprised to see all of them already up and sitting in the main area together. “Good to have you all here already.” He looked down on his clipboard for a moment. “There seems to be a bad storm approaching, so todays activity has to be delayed until tomorrow.

“We´ll have to leave for the rest of the day to organize a few things.” Roxie explained further. “If theres any problems or you need something, you can always reach us with those.” She placed six small walkie-talkies on the table.

“Now, before we leave, is there anything we should know about?”

Darius looked over to Yaz and barely noticeable shook his head. She quietly sighed, but stayed silent otherwise.

Not getting a reply from any of the campers, Roxie and Dave took that as a no. They said goodbye to them and as soon as the door closed behind them, they all sighed. Darius let go of the squirming raptor and she walked back into view. Noir looked confused from one camper to the next.

“So what now?” Yaz asked.

Chapter 3: The cattle drive

Chapter Text

“So what now?” Yaz asked, watching the raptor climb from Darius lap onto the table. Noir curiously crawled around on the table, but still stayed close to Darius.

“We could look for some food for her? I just ran out on packs this morning.”

“Great idea. She must be starving.” Sammy jumped up and quickly headed towards the kitchen. Ben and Kenji followed her a lot less enthusiastic. Brooklyn had stayed behind to film the baby dinosaur with her phone.

The others soon returned. Sammy and Ben both carried bags with frozen meat and fruits, while Kenji brought some suspicious looking plastic bags. They all placed their findings on the table. Darius picked up one of the candy bars Kenji brought and stared at it in disbelieve.

“Candy? Are you kidding me?”

“What? Kids love candy. No big deal.” Kenji shrugged and plopped down on the couch.

“She´s a dinosaur. That stuff could be like poison for her.” Darius quickly picked up all the candy and put it out of Noirs reach, who had already started to inspect all the offerings. He grabbed one of the frozen steaks instead and hummed in thought.

“That´s way to cold for her to eat. We should warm that up in the kitchen.” He then made a short pause and grinned. “Or we could make a campfire.”

Everyone immediatly agreed to the latter. Noir had meanwhile started to nibble at one of the strawberries.

“I thought she´s a carnivore.” Ben asked confused as he noticed that.

“She should be...” Darius looked just as lost as him. They let her finish the one berry and put the rest of the fruits away for now.

Darius picked the raptor up and carried her to his bed. She curled up on his pillow to sleep and he went to help the others get the campfire ready. They just had to wait for the storm to pass before being able to actually start it. Noir luckily slept through most of the day.

Once it seemed like the storm had moved on, they all sat around the fire pit and Brooklyn was working on getting the fire started. Noir was sitting on the bench next to Darius and curiously watched her. At the first sign of fire however, she quickly hid behind his back.

He turned around and tried to calm the young dinosaur down. The smell of food was eventually enough to lure her back around, but not enough to make her fully relax around the fire.

After dinner, Darius decided to tell a few scary stories. Noir was laying next to him and watched him talk, even forgetting the fire for the moment.

A sudden camera flash cut him off. Noir hissed at Brooklyn for the interruption.

He eventually gave up after getting cut off a few more times. Darius picked the raptor up and laid down on his back on the bench. They still were there after everyone else had fled inside from the rain.

“Thanks Brooklyn.” He muttered sarcastically and sat up. Noir climbed up on his shoulder again and chirped a few times to cheer him up. He smiled at her as they made their way inside.

The next morning, Darius got woken up by his raptor jumping around in his bed and over him.

“Not now, Noir. It´s too early.” He pulled the blanket over his head, but it quickly got pulled away again by the dinosaur.

“What´s gotten into y...” The words died in his throat as he saw the state of their room. Papers and clothes were scattered all over the floor and there were tiny claw and bite marks everywhere.

“Guys!” Darius yelled as he sat up and threw his blanket off of him. “We´re in trouble.”

The other two boys slowly woke up and saw the mess, too.

“What happened here?” Ben shrieked panicked. His question got answered as Noir bit into one of his socks laying on the floor and wildly shook it around. “Hey, that´s mine!” He tried to take it away, but the raptor dashed away with the sock and hid under Darius bed.

Darius sighed and stood up. “Let´s clean up before anyone notice.” Ben and Darius started to gather everything from the floor, while Kenji went back to bed.

“You do you. I go back to sleep.” He said while waving them off.

It didnt took them long to find the reason for the raptors behavior. Darius picked up one of his shirts and found a half eaten candy bar with small raptor bitemarks under it.

“Kenji! You gave her candy?!”

“Of course not.” Kenji muttered. “I put all the candy in the drawer over there.” He pointed at a random corner of the room.

Darius walked over to said drawer and found a bunch of empty wrappings in it. He angrily slammed the door shut again and took a deep breath to calm down.

“Well, good news is she can safely eat candy. Bad news is, she´s probably having a sugar rush now.” Noir had by now noticed the candy bar in his hand and started to circle him. “No, you had enough.” He scolded her and put the bar in a cupboard that´s too high up for her to reach.

They spend the rest of the morning cleaning up the room.

“What you gonna do about her while we´re gone?” Ben asked him after they were done cleaning up.

“I thought about taking her with me.”

“What? How?”

Darius grabbed his backpack and held it infront of him.

“Are you sure about that?”

“I don´t think it´s save to leave her here alone.”

“But what if someone sees her?”

“I´m gonna be carefull.”

Getting her to go into the backpack turned out to be easier then he expected. A few pieces of meat were enough to convince her.

Sneaking her into the gyrosphere went as planned aswell. He placed the backpack between his feet and talked with Brooklyn for a bit. Once Roxies and Daves jeep was far enough away, Darius unzipped the backpack and let Noir climb out of it.

She seemed to be scared at the new area at first. That is, until she saw the other dinosaurs. She placed her hands against the glass and stared in awe at the huge herbivores around them.

Brooklyn suddenly raised her voice, making the little raptor look up at them in confusion. They kept talking and both teens seemed to be downcasted now. Only Darius looked at her with a hint of understanding.

Noir got startled again as the jeep suddenly stopped infront of them and she quickly hid in the backpack again. Darius left the gyrosphere for a minute to talk with Dave and Roxie. The raptor flinched again and curled up in the backpack at the sound of a thunder.

One of the Sinoceratops also got spooked and the campers decided to try and herd it back. Noir hesitantly came out of the backpack again. The thought of watching a hunt was too tempting.

However, her excitment soon turned into fear as they stopped infront of the Sino and it charged at them. Noir jumped into Darius lap and dug her claws into his legs like a scared cat as the gyrosphere spun around a few times.

They eventually fled from the panicked herd into the jungle. After stopping the gyrosphere in a clearing, Darius tried to pull the raptor off of him, but she refused to let go. He then noticed a single Sinoceratops near them and turned the gyrosphere towards it.

Brooklyn then opened the doors to step outside and Darius moved to follow her. Not wanting to get close to it, Noir finally let go of him and watched them approach the other dinosaur. They came running back a moment later with the Sino right behind them.

Noir shrieked in panic as its horn pierced the glass and it swung them around. She curled up on his lap again as the two teens realised they were sinking.

They were already half gone by the time the other campers reached them. From her spot on the floor, Noir couldn´t really see how they managed to save them. She just saw a rope being passed to them through the hole in the glass and the next thing she knew was the door of the gyrosphere being pried open.

Seeing the red jeep approach again, she climbed back into the backpack and soon fell asleep.

It was enough adventure for today, even for her.

Chapter 4: Friend or food

Chapter Text

Once the coast was clear, Darius took Noir out of his backpack again. He sat down on the couch with her and checked her for any injuries. The little raptor turned out to be fine, just exhausted.

He looked up as Brooklyn walked over to him. “I managed to get all the mud off.” She held out her phone towards them. “Which is more then I can say for those fingernails.” Brooklyn spun around and sat down aswell.

“Hey, what´s up?” She asked as she noticed Darius looking dejected.

“I thought I knew everything about dinosaurs, but...” He looked down at Noir for a moment. “All I did was mess up today.” Darius sighed. “I-I just wanted...”

“People to like you?” Brooklyn finished his sentence, making him look at her in surprise.

“Yeah. Guess we have that in common.”

They both looked down as Noir chirped and took a few steps towards Brooklyn. She hesitantly held out her hand and the raptor rubbed her head against it.

“Looks like you got a new fan.” Darius said with a smile.

“Yeah.” She petted her a few times before standing up again. “Well, I have to go edit my new video now. Later, dino nerd.”

He couldn´t wait for the next day and a new adventure. His plans got ruined the next morning as the others informed him that they had to stay inside. While they talked, Noir had sneaked over to Ben to see what he was doing.

Ben was busy drawing and didn´t even noticed the raptor stealing one of his crayons and hiding it under the couch.

Brooklyn suddenly came angrily marching into the main area, complaining about someone having stolen her phone. Noir rushed back to Darius as the three girls got into an argument.

A loud roar coming from outside interrupted them all. No one noticed the raptors pupils turn into slits at the sound. They all ran outside on the balcony in hopes to spot the dinosaur that made that roar.

Since there were so many trees blocking their view, they decided to try their luck at the zipline tower instead.

Brooklyn had to pick the lock and they soon reached the top of the tower. Noir really wanted to explore the new place, but Darius refused to put her down. He was too worried his raptor might slip and fall off.

The tower started to shake slightly as a big dinosaur approached it. All the kids anxiously stared at the tree line, but sighed as it turned out to only be a Brachiosaurus.

Only Darius was confused, since the roar they heard earlier wasn´t from a Brachio. Two worker suddenly appeared on the ground, that waved at the kids and yelled at them to come down.

But they were to high up to hear what they were saying. The Brachio suddenly screamed in pain and collapsed, causing the kids to freak out. Noir stared at where the sauropod had fallen and let out a deep rumbling sound.

“Whoa.” Darius looked down at her. “She never did that noise before.” He muttered.

His focus soon shifted back to the area below them, where a huge white dinosaur came out of the thicket and killed the two worker.

“What is that?” Yaz asked, while Ben was freaking out next to her.

“Dr.Wu´s lab...” Brookyln started to pace around behind them. “There was a dinosaur. In...”

“Indominus Rex.” Sammy muttered.

“How do you know that name?” She ask, making the other girl look away. “Wait, isn´t that...” Brooklyn looked over to the raptor in Darius arms.

“We need to leave. Now, now, now!” Sammy urged as she backed away from the railing. “We have to go!”

“Up here is safe, down there isn´t.” Kenji pointed down and then hid behind Darius and Noir. “Besides, this high up, it´s not like Whatever-Rex there can even see us.”

Just then, the Indominus looked up at them and snarled.

“It sees us!” Ben yelled and they all moved away from the railing.

The Indominus easily broke through the security fence and started to attack the tower, almost knocking them off their feet.

Her second attack caused Darius to fall and making him let go of Noir. She walked to the edge of the plattform and hissed at the other dinosaur.

As the white Hybrid kept clawing at the tower, Sammy fell over the railing and the others barely managed to grab her and pull her back up. They then went to the ziplines to try and escape. Noir kept running around between their feet, until Brooklyn picked her up and took her on the ride with her.

Their escape plan got spoiled as the emergency breaks suddenly got activated. Darius managed to push them a bit further, but that victory was short lived as the Indominus brought down the tower and they all fell towards the ground.

Noir woke up to the sound and feeling of approaching foot steps. She looked around and saw all the camper still unconscious.

The Indominus stepped into the clearing and looked down at them for a second before she kept walking.

Right towards Darius.

Noir moved without thinking and got between her “father” and the white hybrid. The raptor hissed at her again, making her pause in surprise. They “talked” for a few seconds, until the Indominus had enough.

She roared at the smaller dinosaur to get her to move out of the way. Noir stood up on her hind legs and roared back as loud as she could (which isn´t much) in defiance. They went back to talking after that, making the Indominus very slowly calm down again.

All the noises were causing the camper to eventually wake up. Darius opened his eyes and immediatly froze as he saw the Indominus infront of him. It took him a few moments to realise that Noir was at his side and happily chirped at him.

He eventually dared to very, very slowly sat up, not taking his eyes off of the hybrid tho. The Indominus kept silently starring at him aswell. It might´ve been a statue with how still it was standing there.

Noir seemed to be oblivious to the tension or perhabs was trying to prove a point as she kept nudging Darius to make him pet her. Darius reached towards his raptor, causing the Indominus to let out a short growl.

Noir hissed at her bigger counterpart, before continuing what she was doing. The Indominus tilted her head in confusion as she watched them interact.

Darius watched the two hybrids seemingly communicate, until they got interrupted by scared gasps as the other campers started to wake up.

“Don´t move!” Darius told them over his shoulder, not daring to fully turn away from the hybrid yet. The others luckily followed his advice.

A minute later, that felt like an eternity to them, the Indominus decided to turn around and leave them alone. More time passed before any of them dared to speak again.

“What just happened?” Ben whispered.

“Let´s get back to camp.” Darius suggested. Everyone agreed with him and he crouched down to let Noir jump onto his shoulder.

As they reached the camp however, they found it completely destroyed.

Chapter 5: jungle tour

Chapter Text

They had decided to walk south to try and reach the main park. Noir was happily exploring the nearby area, while occasionally catching a few bugs. She returned to the group as she heared Ben yell, but it turned out to be a false alarm.

After the girls had another argument, Darius led the group to the nearby Carno enclosure. They looked in horror at the fence as they noticed a huge hole in it. Noir moved closer to it and then nervously looked around.

The scent was still fresh.

They quickly moved on and kept going south. Noir stayed closer to the group now. After they walked for a while, she suddenly noticed the smell of blood in the air. It was faint at first, but got stronger the further they walked and they soon reached its source.

A dead Ankylosaurus was laying in the middle of a clearing with a completely destroyed gyrosphere next to it.

“The Indominus rex was here.” Sammy whispered.

“Predators don´t kill prey and then just leave without feeding.” Darius muttered as he inspected the dead dinosaur. Noir sneaked towards it and tried to take a bite, but the hide turned out to be too tough for her yet.

Some noises nearby made all the camper scramble to hide. A moment later, a young ankylosaurus came running out of the tall grass.

“Bumpy!” Ben called after recognizing the dinosaur. He ran towards her and cuddled her, while the rest of the group slowly came out of hiding.

Their conversation got interrupted as they saw Noir stalk towards Bumpy. Said ankylo turned to face the approaching predator and let out an angry huff.

“No! Darius, stop her!” Ben shrieked as he tried to pull Bumpy away. Darius tried to grab Noir, but the raptor kept avoiding him. Bumpy suddenly charged forward and both dinosaurs started to circle each other.

Just as it looked like they would attack, Noir decided to give up and laid down. Bumpy huffed at her again, before walking back to Ben.

The group then decided to try and reach one of Dr. Wu´s labs instead.

“What about Bumpy?”

“She´s a dinosaur, bro. She belongs out here in the wild.” Kenji told him annoyed.

“And she´ll just slow us down. We gotta go now.” Yaz agreed with him.

They kept walking for a while, until Darius suddenly stopped. “Wait. Guys, where´s Ben?” The group walked back a bit and watched Ben trying to dragg Bumpy with him. He noticed them and quickly pushed her back into a bush.

“Hey! How´s it hangin´... dudes?” Ben tried and failed to act normal.

“Ben, are you hiding Bumpy in that bush?” Darius asked unimpressed.

Bumpy bellowed behind him. “Nope. That could be anything. The jungle makes all sorts of weird noises.” His attempt got ruined as Bumpy ran out of the bush and knocked him over. “How did she get here?” He tried to act surprised.

Yaz facepalmed herself. “We don´t have time for this. There are dinosaurs eating people out here, and Bumpy can´t keep up!”

“She can move faster. Ankylosauruses run fast. Right, Darius?”

“When they´re fully grown, maybe, but she´s just...”

Bumpy yawned loud and laid down to sleep. Noir had sneaked towards Bumpy and nudged her a few times to wake her up. Ben anxiously watched as the raptor made a few low rumbling sounds.

Bumpy looked at her, then the group and quickly stood up again.

“Why does Darius get to keep his raptor, but I can´t keep Bumpy. Noir is just a baby, too!”

Darius sighed and held up three finger. “For three reasons. Noir already saved us from the Indominus once and is our best bet at surviving it again. Number two, other then Bumpy, she´s actually fast enough to keep up with us. And number three, even if she couldn´t, I can still carry her around.”

Ben looked around. “Then... then we´ll put her in the van!”

“What van?” Sammy scoffed.

“That one” Ben pointed at a black van behind them.

“It's an ACU transport! Asset containment unit. Got the tour of their HQ. Super hardcore dino-trapping security dudes.” Kenji explained as he sat down in the empty van.

“Then where are they?”

Brooklyn and Sammy climbed into it aswell and tried to get into contact with anyone from the park. The rest of the campers also got in the van, leaving only Bumpy and Noir still outside.

The ankylo was suddenly starting to panic, while the raptor was getting excited. Ben jumped out of the van again to calm Bumpy down.

“Guys? Somethings coming this way.”

A loud roar suddenly echoed through the jungle.

Darius got out of the van to grab Noir, but she managed to avoid him again. He soon had to give up as the ground shook from approaching foot steps.

Darius told them to close the backdoors of the van and stay quiet. They all looked through the small windows at what´s going on.

Noir was sitting at the edge of the forest, seemingly waiting for something. Soon enough, the Indominus appeared. She stared at the van for a bit, before lowering her head to greet Noir. The Indominus dropped a piece of meat on the floor and the younger hybrid happily started eating it.

“A-Are that bullet wounds?” Kenji whispered and pointed at the Indominus.

“I think I know what happened to the ACU-guys.” Darius whispered back.

Once Noir was done eating, the Indominus ate the rest of the meat and stared at the van again. The kids held their breath as they waited what the hybrid would do. They sighed in relief as they saw her turn around and disappear in the jungle again.

“Can we please go now?” Ben asked.

“Yeah, good idea.” Darius said and opened one of the doors. Noir immediatly jumped in and they drove towards the nearest lab.

As they got there, they didn´t know what to expect, but seeing a birthday cake with lit candles was certainly not on that list.

A scientist suddenly jumped up from behind the table and blinded them with a flashlight.

“Not dinosaurs. You´re not dinosaurs.” He slumbed down on the table. “This is the worst birthday ever.” The scientist suddenly jumped up again as he noticed Noir. “What in the... You brought one of those monsters in here?”

He walked around the table and Darius quickly snatched up Noir to keep her away from him. “She´s not a monster.”

The scientist laughed hysterically. “Maybe not yet, but it will be. You seen whats going on out there, haven´t you?”

“Yean, we came here looking for help. So you got a plan or something?”

“A plan?” He laughed again.

“Is that, like, a good freaky laugh?” Sammy asked.

“Do you not get it? We´re doomed. No one is coming to help!”

“But what about Dr. Wu, or...”

“Wu? Who do you think is to blame for that?” He gestured at Noir. “Wu got greedy. And instead of dinosaurs, he built monsters!” He walked over to a nearby incubator and picked up one of the eggs. “Masrani, Dearing, they´re all clueless about whats really going on here. And after everything I did for the other guys...”

“Other guys? What other...” Brooklyn perked up at that.

“It doesn´t matter, does it? Jurassic World isn´t a park. It´s a powder keg, and it´s detonating all around us! We´re going down. End of story!”

“No, you have to know what to do.” Darius tried again. “You´re an adult!”

“Don´t look at me. I was just hiding until you all barged in.”

“But we drove all the way here cause...”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! You have a vehicle?” Not even waiting for a response, he immediatly ran out of the lab.

“Guys, I left the keys in the van.” Kenji informed then.

They all followed him outside.

“Stop! What are you doing?” Darius called after him.

“Getting out of here alive!”

He reached the van and opened the driver side door. Yaz ran past the others and barely managed to avoid tripping over Bumpy. She got to the van before the scientist was able to get in.

They had a short fight over the car keys, that ended with him shoving Yaz to the ground. As soon as he pushed her, the Indominus suddenly bursts out of the nearby jungle.

The scientist had to get onto the passenger seat as the hybrid stuck her head through the open door and tried to bite him. He quickly climbed into the back of the van and opened the back doors. The Indominus was staring down at him as he tried to hide under the van. She easily moved it out of the way and then pinned him to the ground with one of her hands.

The hybrid looked over to Yaz, who was still sitting nearby, before picking the scientist up by his arm. She looked at the rest of the group again and then disappeared into the forest with the still screaming man in her bloodied jaws.

Once she was out of view, his pained screams abruptly stopped. The camper all looked at each other, knowing what just happened even without having to see it.

They all climbed back into the van and kept driving. Yaz decided to take the wheele this time. As they drove off, she saw the Indominus in the rear view mirror, just standing there watching them leave.

While they were driving, the radio Sammy found earlier suddenly came to life and they were able to talk with Roxie and Dave for a bit. They were letting them know that they are heading for the main park.

The campers all cheered, until they drove over some rocks, that caused Brooklyns phone to fall out of Sammys pocket.

Yaz got distracted by that and ended up crashing the van.

Chapter 6: crossroads

Chapter Text

Smoke started to rise out of the crashed van. The camper slowly woke up again and climbed out of the vehicle.

Seeing no other option after getting caught, Sammy told them why she came to Jurassic World. They all got upset with her, espacially Yaz.

Bumpy started to bellow a warning and Noir looked around to the nearby trees.

The Indominus suddenly ran past them, followed by a helicopter in the air. Darius had to pick up Noir as she tried to follow the other hybrid. She kept trying to squirm out of his hold, until she saw a swarm of pterosaurus heading towards them.

Darius handed the raptor to Brooklyn and then helped Ben carry Bumpy towards the river ride. They barely managed to escape the flying reptiles.

The group headed further down the tunnel, until they reached the river and several kayaks waiting for them.

Darius, Sammy and Noir shared one of the kayaks. Noir squeezed herself past Sammy as they came closer to a glowing cave. All of them looked in awe at the nearby waterfall and purple glowing walls, only Sammy was still sad.

Noir noticed and looked back at her, while Darius was talking with her.

They soon came across a group of Parasaurs. The herbivores ignored them at first, until Bumpy started bellowing. Noir kept hissing at them, making the paras stay away from Darius and Sammys kayak.

Something suddenly spooked the paras, making them retreat in the oposite direction. The campers soon noticed a current pulling them off course and tried to paddle backwards, but to no avail.

After going down a small waterfall, they found themselfs inside the mosasaurus lagoon. Darius spotted a ladder leading out of the water and everyone hurried to paddle towards it. Noir kept her eyes on the mosa as it circled the three kayaks.

Kenji and Brooklyn reached the ladder first, while Yaz steered their kayak towards the metal pillar in the middle of the lagoon. She got out and told Ben to keep paddling towards the ladder.

Yaz managed to distract the mosa as it tried to attack Darius and Sammys kayak. Kenji then raised the hook from the feeding station to help her escape.

She managed to reach the other side, but hurt her foot in the process. They were still at the mosasaurus lagoon as the sun started to set. Sammy tried to talk with Yaz, but she was still hostile towards her.

She sadly sat down on a bench. Noir came over and leaned against her to try and comfort her. Sammy petted the raptor a few times, before curling up again.

Brooklyn eventually came over to cheer her up aswell.

All of them got startled as a siren started blaring in the distance. The island was being evacuated and they had two hours to reach the south ferry dock or they would be stuck on the island.

Ben pulled out a map of the island and told them that it would be impossible for them to go there in time. Just as they were about to give up, they suddenly heared an announcement nearby.

A monorail had arrived that was heading towards the south part of the island. They all hurried towards it to try and catch the next train.

Brooklyn, Kenji and Sammy were running towards it, only to gasp and run back to hide. Darius and Noir looked around the corner and saw Toro standing nearby.

Toro got distracted by a blue barrel and Darius used the chance to sneak past it first. The others had to wait until Darius distracted the carno again before running towards the stairs.

They almost made it, until another announcement got played and blew their cover. Toro charged towards them, but had trouble getting up the stairs. He almost reached Yaz as he lost his balance and fell onto his stomach.

Darius and Noir heared the crash and ran back to see what happened. Toro kept snapping at Yaz, while she managed to barely avoid his attacks. Darius ran towards her to help, but Noir was faster.

The little raptor jumped on the carno and bit his head as hard as she could. While Darius helped Yaz up the stairs, Toro had fully stood up again and tried to shake Noir off. However, doing so caused him to completely fall off the stairs.

The carno looked back up at the kids and was about to charge at them again, until Noir bit his ankle.

All the camper were already in the monorail, only Darius was standing in the door, blocking it.

“Wait, we can´t leave yet. What about...” He was about to go follow his raptor when Kenji pulled him backwards into the train.

“There´s no time. We have to leave.” The doors closed and the monorail took off.

The last thing they saw was Toro chasing after Noir around a corner.

Chapter 7: new paths

Chapter Text

Noir was starting to run out of breath as Toro kept chasing her. The carno showed no sign of slowing down and got closer and closer to catching her with each attempt. She ended up running back towards the lagoon to hide under the nearest bench and camouflaged.

Toro walked right past her and looked forwards at the water. The mosa stuck her head out of the water and hungrily eyed the carno. He growled, feeling uneasy next to such a large predator and headed back the way he came from.

Noir waited a few more minutes, until she was sure the carno was gone. After snacking on some popcorn, she headed back to where she last seen her pack.

Their scents still lingered in the air, but they were gone. Noir decided to follow the monorail tracks on the ground in hopes to find them.

After a while of walking, she suddenly came across a different, yet familiar scent. Being to exhausted to keep walking much further, she followed that scent instead.

She soon found the Indominus sleeping in a temporary nest. Noir chirped a few times to wake her up. Indy raised her head and tiredly blinked at her, before inviting her into the nest.

They slept next to eachother, until Indy suddenly sat up and growled a warning.

Intruders.

Noir hid in a bush, while Indy got up to confront them. Four Velociraptors and dozens of armed humans had stopped near their nest.

They calmly talked for a bit and the situation seemed to be under control. The raptors turned back to their alpha to get new instructions, only for the humans to start attacking the Indominus.

Indy tried to get back to Noir as a rocket hit the ground next to her, knocking her down and nearly falling on the smaller hybrid.

She quickly got back up, told Noir to follow her and then kept running. Noir was about to go after her as the humans came closer, forcing her to stay hidden. They walked past the black raptor without noticing her.

Noir was getting ready to finally follow Indy, but got once again stopped as a burning tree branch came crashing down infront of her. The scared raptor leapt backwards and quickly realised that she was surrounded by flames.

She started to call for help as the fire closed in around her. The smoke became thicker by the second and made it harder and harder to breath.

As soon as Indy heared her calls for help, she camouflaged and sneaked in a wide arc around the approaching humans.

She carefully picked Noir up in her jaws and carried her to a somewhat safe area. Even after being brought out of harms way, the little raptor still sat curled up on the forest floor. She stared with clouded eyes at the ground, dug her claws into the soil and was breathing way to fast.

Indy was anxiously pacing around her,, not knowing what to do. Seeing no other option, she called the velociraptors to help.

At a close by clearing, Charlie just finished another mercenary when she heared the call. She just briefly glanced at Owen, before leaving. A nearby soldier silently cursed as his target suddenly disappeared.

The four raptors looked down at the shaking hatchling. Not knowing what to do either, Echo, Delta and Charlie looked at Blue. The striped raptor stepped forward and nudged Noir a few times with her snout.

As that didn´t worked, Blue sat down right next to her and used her hand to pull the little one to her chest. It took a minute, but her breathing finally began to slow down. Once Noir was calm enough, she thanked Blue and stood up.

The hybrids and raptors then went their seperate ways. Indy and Noir headed further inland, away from the main street. The raptor squad on the other hand headed towards it, since that´s where their alpha has gone to.

Delta, being the fastest in the group, got there first and killed Hoskins inside the lab. The raptors then caught up with Owen outside of the building and he took off the cameras around their heads. Realising he was setting them free, Blue lead them back into the jungle.

Meanwhile in Jurassic Worlds HQ. Lowery Cruthers was the only person still there. He looked conflicted at the monitors showing all different parts of the island.

Jurassic World was done.

That much was obvious to him. No one would wanna come back here after what happened today. He felt bad for all the dinosaurs still trapped.

With no one taking care of the system anymore, how long would it take for the feeding stations to stop working, causing them to starve.

This doesn´t have to happen, a voice whispered in the back of his mind. He sighed and looked down at the main control panel. The last ferry will leave in 20 minutes. No human will be left on the island by then. He took a deep breath, typed in the security code and set the timer to one hour.

Sixty minutes from now on, all the paddock gates in the park will automatically open.

Chapter 8: reunion

Chapter Text

The velociraptors had established their new territorium around the innovation center of the old park. Indy managed to bribe herself and Noir into the pack by bringing them a dead parasaur as offering.

She was currently resting in the shade of a large tree and watched Charlie teaching Noir how to hunt. The little hybrid had grown over the last few days and was half the height of a velociraptor already.

Noir had placed a few dead bugs on the ground and waited in a nearby bush. A compy eventually tried its luck and she immediatly pounced on it. She proudly looked down at her kill, but soon became sad again. Charlie came over to check on her.

Noir told her that she was missing her old pack. Perhabs she should go back to them.

The other raptors and even Indy agreed, despite her obvious distrust in humans. Indy was gonna stay with the raptors, but offered Noir to help her find them.

They eventually managed to track them down to their old camp. The kids were all standing infront of the destroyed building, but must´ve noticed Indy approaching as they all looked scared in the hybrids direction.

Noir said goodbye to Indy and then stepped out into the open. All eyes were on her as she crawled towards the group.

Darius was the first one to take a step forward. “Noir?” He asked in disbelieve.

She happily chirped a greeting at him.

They stopped a meter apart from each other. Darius slowly held out his hand towards her and she rubber her head against it.

“I thought I lost you.” He whispered as he moved his hand down her neck to her back. The purple stripes on her flanks were clearly visible by now. “How did you escaped?” Darius asked, despite not really expecting an answer.

Noir tilted her head as she thought about something and then camouflaged for a few seconds.

There were a few surprised gasps coming from the campers.

“You can do that, too?” He asked in awe and kept petting her.

Brooklyn cleared her throat behind him. “I hate to interrupt your reunion, but we still got work to do.”

“Oh, right.” He turned around and catched the piece of wood Brooklyn threw towards him.

Noir followed them to the veterinary station. The trapped dinosaurs became slightly agitated by her presence. While the three camper looked for supplies, a cage pretty far in the back caught her attention.

A green baryonyx was staring through the bars back at her. They talked for a bit, while the kids had started to free the herbivores. Noir looked over at what they were doing and then tried to open the barys cage, but couldn´t quiet get it.

So she went to Darius for help. Noir bit into the hem of his shirt and pulled him towards the cage.

Darius and Sammy had an argument about wether or not they should release the bary, while Noir kept nudging them to do so.

The bary was meanwhile trying to act as non-threatingly as she could. Darius was about to open the cage, when two more barys appeared in the station.

Noir got between them and the trapped bary told her companions to stop. Once the kids realised the barys wouldn´t attack them, Darius released the trapped one and they watched the bary trio disappear into the jungle.

They quickly freed the rest of the dinosaurs, before heading back to the camp.

Chapter 9: the watering hole

Chapter Text

While waiting for help to arrive, the campers busied themselfs by building a shelter out of the destroyed camp.

Noir tried her best to help them by carrying stuff and keeping the area compy-free. The others still got more wary around her with each passing day as she kept growing. Only Darius seemed to be unfazed by her size.

He had set up a growth chart for her at one of the support pillars of their tree house. Darius also started to train her with one of the whistles he had picked up at the vet station. He would whistle for her at random times and places and give her a few berrys as treats when she found him. The rest of his training contained her learning a few basic dog tricks.

It was a few days after her return when she noticed the others starting to become nervous around her. Another day passed when she came up with a plan to try and fix that.

She started to hunt for them and bring them food.

Bringing them a dead compy turned out to be a bad idea. Even Darius was unhappy about it. Catching fishs from the nearby river turned out to work much better.

She had to avoid the camp whenever they made a fire to cook the fish, but it was worth it.

Another thing she noticed about them is often smiling at each other. It must´ve been something positiv. Darius would often smile at her, too, when she learned a new trick or brought them more food.

However, when she smiled at them, it had the exact opposite result. They just seemed more uneasy instead of happy.

Was she not doing it right?

It left the black raptor utterly confused and in the end she decided to not do that around them again until she figured out what went wrong.

More days passed and Noir had by now become as tall as a velociraptor while still standing on four legs.

She crawled out of the small shack the kids had build for her, stretched and trotted down to the river to drink.

Only to find the river dried out. She was about to go inform the others when Darius appeared next to her. He dropped the container he was holding in shock and then called the rest of the group over.

Noir had already climbed down into the riverbed to investigate, soon followed by Brooklyn.

The three girls decided to follow the sound Brooklyn kept hearing, while Darius and Kenji would try to find out what happened to the river. Noir was following Darius.

After a while of walking, they found the reason why the river had stopped. A bunch of tree logs have blocked it.

Noir was staying a short distance away, while the two camper tried to move the tree out of the way. A pair of stegos had a fight nearby and she would rather not get involved in that.

Darius eventually noticed them too as their fight had shifted closer to them. Noir watched the battle anxiously with how close they have gotten. Darius then tried to get the stegos attention by mimicking them, but failed.

Realising what he was trying to do, Noir jumped onto the tree and hissed a challenge at the stegos. Both herbivores turned to look at her and the larger one charged her. She jumped to the other side of the river a moment before the tail could hit her.

The now free river seemed to be enough to stop the stegos from going after her and they continued fighting each other.

Darius and Kenji were heading back to the camp, only to suddenly cross paths with a ceratosaurs. Noir warbled in excitement and bounced past those three.

“Uh, Noir? Little help here?” Darius called after her with a shaky voice.

The raptor looked confused back at them, as if there wouldn´t be a large carnivore standing right infront of the kids.

She came trotting back, walked behind Darius and slightly shoved him with her head to make him move. They hesitantly walked past the cerato, only for it to start following them.

The group soon reached the watering hole.

Darius and Kenji were still looking at it in awe, while Noir and the cerato headed down to drink. The kids quickly joined them there.

They then sat down under the nearby trees and watched the other dinosaurs. Darius wrote a few things about the watering hole in his notebook.

After the campers all had returned to the tree house, they had a small party til it became night.

Noir was sleeping on the ground below them and looked up as a few shooting stars raced across the sky.

The wind suddenly changed dirctions, caring the scent of smoke towards her as the kids climbed down the tree house.

She wanted to go with them, but the thought of going near that fire scared her. Darius noticed and walked back to her.

“You don´t have to come with us if you don´t want. You could stay here and guard the camp.”

Noir then got back into her shack and watched her pack leave.

Chapter 10: New pack additions

Chapter Text

Noir woke up the next morning to an eerie quiet camp. She came out of her shack, where her suspicion was proven right.

The camp was empty.

Her pack hadn´t returned last night.

She started to pace around the area and became more worried as time went on.

What if something happened to them? They could´ve got lost. Or something attacked them.

The thoughts kept plaging her mind. She wanted to go look for them, but Darius told her to guard the camp.

So she stayed.

And waited.

Noir eventually headed down to the river to drink. As she looked down at her reflection, another thought crossed her mind.

What if they had abandoned her? Did they got so scared of her that they had to leave?

She already noticed that something was off about her.

No other dinosaur she seen on the island before looked like her. Not even Indy.

Noir changed her scales to white, just to have a comparison. And jup, similar, but not the same.

She angrily swiped her claws through the water and headed back to the camp. The raptor curled up on a sunny spot to sleep, but a noise made her head immediatly snap up.

There was the faint sound of a whistle.

She quickly sprinted towards it and soon reached its source. Kenji and Brooklyn were being chased by someone. He managed to grab Brooklyns arm. She ellbowed him, making him shove her away and causing both her and Kenji to fall to the ground.

Noir angrily roared at him as she burst through some bushes.

The man stared at her in shock and then fumbled to get his prod activated. She stopped coming closer and growled as he pointed the weapon at her.

Noir stood up on her hind legs, slammed her front legs into the ground and roared at him again.

He was to distracted by the raging dinosaur to notice someone sneaking up behind him and knocking him out with a club.

Kenji and Brooklyn gaped at Ben, before going to hug him. Bumpy and Noir had a short confrantation nearby, but soon got along again.

Hap was starting to wake up again, so Ben tied him up. Noir had meanwhile climbed up on the rocks behind them to keep an eye out around the area.

Ben picked up the prod and spun it around a few times. Their conversation got interrupted as Hap woke up and got to his feet. He and Ben kept challeging each other until Brooklyn got between them.

Hap was trying to convince them to trust him and the kids decided to interrogate him to get some answers.

“Okay, start talking. Why were you...” Brooklyn started, but Hap interrupted her.

“Are these Windsor knots? Where´d you learn how to tie people up?”

Noir started to get annoyed by Hap and silently crawled down the rocks towards him.

“Hey! We´re asking the questions.”

“Yeah! We got a dinosaur and are not afraid to use her.”

Hap looked unimpressed to Bumpy, who was grazing nearby.

“Oh, not this one.” Kenji crossed his arms with a smirk and looked past Hap.

He sat up straighter as he felt something breath down the back of his neck. Hap glanced over his shoulder to see black jaws and two rows of crooked teeth smiling at him.

“You would really gonna feed someone to a dinosaur?” He asked, only half buying their threat.

“Ugh, no.” Brooklyn pinched her nose. “No one´s getting eaten. Noir, leave him alone.”

The raptor relucantly did so and went over to play with Bumpy instead.

Hap then told them that there is a boat at the northwest dock they could use to get off the island. Ben didn´t trust him and wanted to leave him behind, while Kenji got worried that their friends are in danger if he was telling the truth about Mitch and Tiff.

In the end they decided to go rescue the others, but taking the still tied up adult with them. Noir was trailing behind them to keep an eye on him.

They soon reached the building Hap has mentioned earlier. Bumpy suddenly bellowed a warning and the group took cover behind it, while Noir climbed up the building. The three baryonyx were looking around for some food.

Noir tried to talk to them, but they just got mad at her for invading their territory. They tried to climb up to her, before getting distracted by a gate opening at the other side of the building.

An explosion suddenly rocked the building, knocking the barys of their feet and making Noir freeze in panic.

It took her a minute to calm down enough to go after them. Tracking down the vehicle the humans escaped with was luckily easy enough.

Noir had almost reached them when she saw Hap staying behind to help the kids escape. Grim was still trying to go after them instead, when Hap tased her again.

The three barys surrounded him. Chaos was about to attack him fro behind when Noir came crashing into her side, knocking the bary to the ground. She tried to deescalate, but the bary trio was still beyond listening.

Noir roared as loud as she could, making Hap cover his ears and the barys take a step back. After she was done, the barys shook their heads and kept circling them. The raptor kept snapping at them whenever one of them got too close.

Grim suddenly charged them. Noir moved ot of the way and jumped on her back. She bit down on Grims neck as the bary tried to shake her off. Limbo tried to help their leader, while Hap kept Chaos busy.

Noir leapt from Grims back onto the nearby rocks before Limbo could get her. Grim jumped after her and managed to swipe at her, leaving three long gashes at her flank. She fell to the ground and quickly Limbo pinned her down with one foot.

He was about to finish her when a loud screech rang through the night. Two raptors pounced on Limbo, while two more started to attack Grim.

The barys tried to fight back, but the raptors were faster and kept avoiding their attacks. Realising they were outnumbered and outmatched, the barys slowly started to retreat.

Once the barys were gone, the raptors went to check on Noir. The gashes were luckily not very deep. Hap was meanwhile sitting crouched nearby, watching them.

Noir thanked them for the help and Charlie mentioned that they saw some of her humans walk towards the rex territory a bit ago. The hybrid stood up, trying to ignore the pain and asked them to keep an eye on Hap.

She then half ran, half limbed towards the old park, hoping to get help.

Chapter 11: A delayed battle

Chapter Text

Noir hurried towards the old park as fast as she could. When she got there, she found Indy sleeping under a few trees. The Indominus lifted her head by the sudden noises and the smell of blood. Indy quickly got up to check on Noir.

The raptor insisted that she was fine, but her pack needed help at main street. Indy told her to wait here and rest, while she was going there.

Meanwhile, somewhere else on the island, Hap was making his way through the jungle. Four raptors were flanking him on each side as he did so. They stayed just far enough away from him to be able to see them move through the foliage and would snarl or snap at him whenever he tried to change directions.

Not wanting to mess with another group of dinosaurs again, he just let them lead him. They soon reached the campers tree house. As soon as Hap walked to it, the raptors quickly turned around and left.

By the time Indy had reached main street, Mitch and Tiff were already gone and Darius and Sammy were trying to hide from Rexy between two pillars close to a building.

Indy roared a challenge at the rex, who turned away from the kids and roared back at her. Both predators kept roaring and trying to make the other back down.

As that didn´t worked, they charged at each other to fight. Rexy managed to bite down on Indys neck and tried to push her to the ground.

Indy got out of her jaws, only for the rex to bite the other side of her neck and shaking her head around. The Indominus pulled away again and was able to scratch her a few times.

Rexy backed away for a moment, only to charge at Indy. She bit her neck again and shoved her into a nearby building. Sparks and debris was flying everywhere and a metal piece lodged itself in Indys shoulder.

Before she was able to get her bearings, Rexy bit down on her head and dragged her around. Blood was dripping down into her eyes, making it harder for her to see. She shook her head to get rid of it and saw Rexy standing infront of her, roaring again.

Without thinking, Indy charged forward and rammed her head into Rexys side, knocking the old dinosaur over. She bit down on her neck and refused to let go. The rex was trashing under her and tried to get her off by kicking at her, so she used her arms to pin her down more.

The trashing became less strong with every second and Indy was more then fine with letting the rex suffocate, until she heared a raptor call nearby.

She looked up with one eye, not letting go of Rexy yet, and saw the raptor squad standing nearby. Blue told her to let go.

Indy pondered about it for a few seconds, but eventually stepped back from the rex. They watched Rexy get up with some difficulty and limb of towards the jungle. The kids had meanwhile hid somewhere else while they watched the fight. Indy roared loudly to claim this territory as hers.

She wanted to lay down to heal, but then remembered the two hunter Noir had ust told her about. So she started to track them down with the raptor squad following her. When she got closer to them, she noticed three barys sleeping nearby and she got an idea.

Her wounds were really starting to burn now and she didn´t know how much longer she could follow the humans and she couldn´t put the raptors at risk as long as the hunter still got their gun. So she would make the barys go after them.

She saw one of the barys get up after it heared the humans and indy took her chance. Before Grim could get any closer to the hunter, Indy pinned her to the floor. The other two soon followed the commotion and angrily hissed as they saw their leader in trouble.

Indy threatend them to kill Grim unless they would take care of the two humans nearby. Chaos and Limbo relucantly agreed and started tracking them down.

They watched the male human stepping into his own trap and getting eaten by Rexy and they killed the female one as she tried to flee from the island in her boat.

Once that was done, they returned to Indy and she let go of the just slightly bruised Grim. Indy camouflaged and the group disappeared into the jungle. They started walking back home, but Indy collapsed after a while.

Meanwhile, the kids were all heading back to their camp. Noir had joined them a few minutes earlier. The gashes on her side had already stopped bleeding and started to heal.

Once they reached the camp, they got surprised by seeing Hap sitting infront of it. Brooklyn was relieved to see him, while the rest of the group got mixed feelings about him.

They explained to the others what happened while they got seperated and Hap told them how he managed to survive the barys.

Their conversation got cut short as Delta suddenly came running out of the forest and Noir walked towards her. The two raptors had a brief conversation after which Noir became visibly stressed.

She looked back at the group and let out several short barks.

“Guys? That was raptor call for help.” Darius muttered as he took a step towards her. “Something´s wrong.” He ran after the two dinos, not waiting to see if the others would follow him. Hap watched the other kids follow him after a moment.

“Is that something you all regularly do?” Hap asked noone in particular.

“Pretty much.” Ben said as he rode on Bumpy past him. Hap sighed and followed them.

Delta was leading Noir and the humans to where Indy was still laying on her side. As they got closer, Bumpy got anxious and refused to go further, forcing Ben to stay behind with her.

The kids weren´t doing much better as they noticed the huge, unconscious hybrid, but still got closer.

Darius kept walking towards her, until Hap put a hand on his shoulder. “Whoa, kid. Hang on a second. What are you doing?”

“She needs help.”

“Do you even know how to patch up a dinosaur?”

“Well...”

“I had to patch up people plenty of times before.” Brooklyn interrupted him and walked forward. “A dinosaur can´t be that different, right?” She looked the Indominus over. “We should get that thing out of her shoulder first, but we gonna need bandages before that. Like... alot. And a needle and thread to stich the wound.”

Darius thought for a moment. “The vet station, there must be stuff there.” He ran back to Ben and asked him to get a needle, thread and as many bandages as he could find from there.

While they waited for Ben to return, the four velociraptors slowly started to become irritated. Ben came back a few minutes later with everything they needed.

“And how exactly are we supposed to get that out of her?” Kenji asked, looking around the group.

“Someone has to pull it out, obviously.”

“You mean, get up there?” He pointed at Indy. “Yeah, nope. Kenji is out.” He turned around, walked a few steps away and sat down.

“I´ll do it.” Darius said and then looked at Brooklyn. “You know how to stich wounds too, right?”

“I sure do.”

“Great, can you show...”

“No need, I´m coming with you.” Brooklyn grabbed the needle and thread and they walked towards the Indominus.

Darius managed to climb up her back and then helped Brooklyn up. Both their hearts were racing as they moved as carefully as they could to not wake up the unconscious hybrid. He tried to pull the metal piece out, but wasn´t able to.

Hap looked at them and shook his head. “What am I doing...” He muttered as he moved to climb up aswell.

Him and Darius were finally able to pull the debris out and threw it away. Indy let out a pained growl at that, but didn´t woke up. The raptors however became increasingly agitated at the sound and started to snarl at the kids. Noir tried her best to keep them calm.

After they removed it, they both had to put pressure on the wound as more blood began pouring out of it. Brooklyn hurried to sew the wound close and eventually asked the others to help them with the bandages.

Just as Yaz was gonna throw a roll up to them, the Indominus suddenly moved. Hap jumped down her back, while the two kids got off the other side. They all scrambled away from Indy, as she rolled up onto her stomach.

The still dazed hybrid looked confused at everyone around her. She growled as she noticed the humans, but Noir quickly calmed her down. Indy eventually let them bandage the injury, before getting back up and heading home.

Chapter 12: Goodbye

Chapter Text

After treating the Indominus, the group had to face another problem. The bandages would had to be changed eventually.

They spend the next day gathering more supplies from the vet station and a few nearby labs.

The first day they showed up in the raptors territorium again nearly ended in a disaster. Indy was still distrustful towards humans and they hurriedly left as soon as they were done.

With each passing day however, she became calmer around them. The group had meanwhile also worked on ways to get off the island.

They returned to the visitor center again to remove Indys bandages for the last time. While packing up their stuff, Darius was talking to the dinosaurs.

“We managed to build a raft. Hopefully it will be able to get us off the island. We´re gonna leave tomorrow.”

Indy was listening and had moved closer to Darius at the last part.

Darius looked up and flinched as he noticed how close the hybrid had gotten. They just stared at each other as Darius slowly raised his hand and held it out towards her. After a moment, he put his hand against her snout.

“Goodbye.”

He then grabbed the rest of their things and the group headed back to their camp.

The next morning, Hap and the kids set sail on the makeshift raft. Noir and Bumpy were at the beach, watching them leave and calling after them.

A large wave eventually ruined their escape attempt and they got washed back to the shore again.

Noir quickly managed to track them down, with Bumpy following right behind her. Both dinosaurs happily greeted their humans again and the group headed back to the camp.

After a short discussion, they decided to go to the lookout point to get a new sail for another raft. Ben and Darius stayed behind to talk.

“Look, I just thought something was bothering you earlier and I wanted to check on you.” Darius explained, after a rather awkward start.

“It´s nothing.”

“You sure?”

“I´ll be fine.”

Darius gasped and pointed at Ben. “There it is.”

“What?”

“You said you´ll be fine, which means you´re not fine right now.”

A few leaves rustled nearby. Noir turned towards the sound and Ben shushed Darius as he got up. She raised her quills in alarm and let out a low growl.

The kids decided to leave the area while whispering to each other. Noir followed them, but still kept her eyes towards that direction.

Since Ben wasn´t telling him what´s wrong, Darius started to make guesses until Ben had enough.

“I don´t want to leave Bumpy again, okay? That´s my problem.”

“Oh.” Darius gasped and looked at said dinosaur. “Well, you don´t have to leave Bumpy. We´ll build a bigger raft.”

“Darius, we´ve been through this. She´ll never fit on a raft. She has to stay here. There´s no other way.”

They looked at each other, both knowing that Ben was right.

“When we got back to camp and I saw her, I realized it was a mistake to leave her. She´s always been there for me, and then... I just abandon her? I can´t... I can´t do it again. I just can´t.”

Bumpy noticed that he got sad and tried to cheer him up. Ben hugged her and then looked at Darius again.

“How are you ok with leaving Noir behind just like that?”

The raptor stepped besides Darius and he placed his hand on her side.

“I will miss her, too, but I know she won´t be alone here. And I´m sure Bumpy will be okay without you, too.”

“Of course she will. She´s a survivor. It´s just that... I don´t know if I´ll be okay. I appreciate what you´re trying to do, Darius, but some things... some things just can´t be fixed.”

They suddenly heared several dinosaur roars and looked up to see a swarm of dimorphodons flying after a hang glider. One of them managed to bite a hole into it, causing the glider to loose altitude.

Darius, Ben, Noir and Bumpy ran after it. Ben stopped at the tree line, but Darius kept running.

“Darius, watch out!” Ben yelled as he saw one dimorphodon flying towards his friend.

Before it could attack him, Noir snatched the unsuspecting reptile out of the air. She had her back turned to the kids as she swallowed it whole.

The rest of the group soon joined them and Sammy and Kenji told them about the boat they had spotted earlier. They headed in that direction and soon found it.

“That boat is big enough to fit Bumpy!” Darius exclaimed excited.

“Darius, I guess you were right, every problem does have a fix.”

Darius smiled at him and then went to join the others. Once he was gone, Ben kept petting Bumpy and sadly looked down at her.

Chapter 13: Into the fog

Chapter Text

Hap decided to stay behind at the dock, while the kids went to get the boat. He sat down at the edge of the dock and let his feet dangle down towards the water, as they docked the boat nearby.

They invited him to join their yacht party, but he declined. Noir came out of the forest an hour later. She still had some blood stains on her muzzle from her kill.

The raptor noticed Hap sitting around alone and layed down behind him. Her head was near the edge of the dock to his left and the tip of her tail was dangling down from it to his right. They sat like this in silence for a few minutes and just watched the kids having fun.

“Why don´t you go join them?” Hap eventually asked.

Noir huffed and layed her head down on her arms.

“What? Not a fan of water?”

She grumbled and kept looking at the boat. Hap chuckled and suddenly remembered something.

“Darius mentioned that he thinks you can understand us. At least partial...” He turned his head to the raptor, who was eyeing him curiously. “Was he right? Can you understand us?”

Noir lifted her head again and her claws scraped over the dock as if she was fidgeting.

Hap sighed, not sure what he had even expected to happen. He probably just talked to himself, but then got an idea.

“How about this: Nodding your head means yes.” He nodded as an example. “Shaking it means no.” Hap shook his head and waited. “Do you understand?” He asked uncertain.

Noir bobbed her head up and down.

“Fuck.” Hap muttered and ran a hand through his short hair. “What have these bastards been doing here...” He whispered to himself, leaned his back against the hybrids side and looked back to the yacht.

“Do you want to go to them?”

Noir nodded.

“Is there a reason why you don´t go over?”

Another nod. Hap thought for a moment.

“Do you really don´t like water?”

She huffed again and shook her head.

“Is there not enough room on the boat?”

Noir didn´t answered and instead looked down over the edge of the dock. Hap did the same. Both their reflections stared up at him. It took him a few moments to realize.

Because we´re different?”

She hesitantly nodded. Hap figured it wasn´t the exact reason, but he was getting closer. Before he could keep asking, Noir suddenly sat up straighter, puffed up her quills and had her jaws just inches from his head. She then growled at him.

The whole thing only lasted for a few seconds, before she relaxed again and returned to her previous position.

Hap blinked a few times and looked between her and the kids on the boat. “You think they are scared of you?”

Noir nodded without delay now and Hap sighed.

“I see... You wouldn´t really harm them, right?”

She almost looked insulted at the accusation as she shook her head.

“I´m sure we can figure something out.”

Noir happily warbled and placed her head on his lap. He looked over at her flank and moved his hand over the three scars there.

“I haven´t even told you... Thanks for saving me.”

The raptor purred.

She smiled at Hap and he smiled back.

A crash coming from the boat caught their attention.

“Somethings wrong...”

Noir let him get up and they both walked towards the group. There was a hole in the yacht. The kids changed back to their normal clothes and started to look around the dock for anything to fix the boat.

It was night already and the whole are was covered in thick fog. They all split up and Noir climbed up on one of the containers. The fog made it hard to see, but she could still hear where everybody was.

She sensed the two ouranosaurus long before the others did. They behaved and smelled weird, so Noir stayed away from them for now. She only intervened as Darius, Ben and Brooklyn ran into them and the ouranos charged at them.

Noir jumped at the first one and bit down in its back-sail, her momentum causing them to crash into the second one. She jumped off and landed behind the herbivores, while they started to fight with each other.

The raptor roared, getting both their attention. She lured them away from the dock and into the jungle. A few minutes into the chase, one of the ouranos cried in pain before going silent. The second one soon did the same.

Noir stopped running and turned back around to the fog. There was a scent in the air that made her quills stand on end. She barely saw the silhouett in the fog before something black lunged at her.

She quickly rolled out of the way and hissed at her attacker. The dinosaur infront of her looked eerily alot like her. It had a different headshape, thinner limbs and weird spikes at the tip of its tail tho.

Both predators started circling each other, looking for an opening to attack. The other raptor leaped at her and Noir dodged again. They had a short wrestling match, which Noir ended up winning. The other raptor quickly fleed back into the jungle.

By the time she noticed the spike sticking out at the base of her tail it was already to late and she saw red.

The next morning at the dock, Hap and the kids were getting ready to go look for more supplies. They were all still on the yacht as Darius spotted Noir coming out of the jungle in the distance.

He was about to call her, but stopped as he noticed something was off.

Noir seemed to stagger while walking and paced around the far end of the docks in circles.

“What´s up with her?” Ben asked concerned as he walked besides Darius. The rest of the group also looked over.

“I don´t know.” Darius went up to the railing and gripped it with both hands.

They watched as Noir rubbed her head and chest against the concrete floor.

“Noir?!” Darius called out. “What´s wrong girl?”

The raptor immediatly spun around towards the sound of his voice. They realized they were in trouble as she bared her teeth at them and snarled.

She roared as she ran down the dock towards the yacht and the group scrambled to find cover. Only Darius was still standing at the railing.

“Noir, no! Stop!” He tried, but the raptor ignored him. A hand suddenly grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him backwards, just as Noir had reached the yacht.

She leaped up the boat, broke a part of the railing and slammed her claws into the wooden floor where Darius just stood a moment earlier.

Hap dragged him further away to find a hiding spot. They had to run to the back of the boat with Noir right behind them. As they ran around the corner, Bumpy attacked her. She managed to hit Noir with her tail, causing the hybrid to fall overboard and land on the dock on her side.

“No!” Darius called, still worried for his raptor. He watched her get back up a moment later and noticed her eyes looking strangely clouded. Darius had no time to focus on that as she attacked the boat again.

Not wanting her to damage the boat any further, Darius ran to the front of the boat and jumped through the broken railing onto the dock. Noir hadn´t noticed him yet and climbed up to the broken window instead. Only as he whistled, her head spun around and she chased after him.

The rest of the group came out of hiding and helplessly watched Darius lead her away.

He didn´t get far until Noir had catched up to him.

Darius spun around and covered his face with his arms as Noir swiped at him. One of her claws hit him, leaving a cut at his lower arm. He fell to the floor as he held his bleeding arm. Noir stalked towards him, but suddenly stopped and pushed her head into the concrete again. Darius could only lay there and watch as she started to violently threw her head to the sides.

He noticed her clouded eyes become clear again and she took a few steps away from him.

Noir looked around in confusion, before realizing what she just did. She looked back to the boat and saw them all looking terrified at her.

Not knowing what else to do, she ran past Darius and into the jungle.

Chapter 14: Loyal til the end

Chapter Text

Brooklyn just finished patching up Darius, while the rest of the group was watching them. They were all standing on the dock around Darius, who was sitting on one of the bollards.

“Why would she do that...” He muttered, more to himself.

“She´s a dinosaur, dude. What did you expect?” Kenji said, crossing his arms.

“Yeah. Maybe, Eddie was right.” Yaz agreed with him.

“No, I´m sure there´s an explanation for this.” Darius defended his raptor.

“Might have something to do with that.” They all turned around to Ben, who had picked up a black spike from the dock. “Saw that stuck in her. She lost it after Bumpy hit her.” Ben handed the spike to Darius.

He took it and turned it around a few times. “This looks like its from a dinosaur, but there aren´t any black dinos with spikes here.”

“At least none that we know of.” Ben said.

“Maybe we should move the boat somewhere else. Just in case Noir or one of the other ones come back.”

Darius was saddened by that, but agreed. They eventually moved the boat to the private dock near the penthouse from Kenjis father. Hap stayed behind to try and fix some of the damage at the boat, while the kids went to explore.

Meanwhile at a different part of the island, Noir had rejoined the raptor pack again. She told them what happened and warned them about the strange dinosaur she ran into. The velociraptors were gonna keep a closer eye around their territorium now.

Noir went into the visitor center and layed down in a hidden corner. Several hours went by. Indy and Charlie occasionally checked on her, but were unable to cheer her up.

She just layed there curled up, ignoring her hunger and thirst, until the next day came around.

The raptor squad was currently away to hunt. Indy was dozing camouflaged infront of the building when Darius, Kenji and Yaz came closer.

She got up and became visible again, scaring the three kids. Darius told her a compy stole something from them and they needed it back. Indy turned around and pushed the big door open with her head.

The kids wanted to follow her inside, but the hybrid blocked their path with her tail and snarled at them.

Inside the building, Noir had heared what they had said outside. She had noticed a compy coming in with a shiny object and pointed Indy in the right direction. Indy grabbed the whole nest with her mouth and carried it outside.

As Indy pushed the door open again, Darius managed to catch a glimpse of Noir.

“Noir!” Darius tried to go inside again, while Yaz grabbed the compass from the nest the Indominus had dropped at their feet.

Indy stopped him from entering again.

“Please, let me go in. I just wanna make sure she´s alright.” Darius begged, but only got another snarl in return.

Kenji grabbed his arm and started to pull him away. “Come on, we got what we needed.”

Darius reluctantly followed them, while still looking back a few times.

More hours passed with Noir still refusing to leave her corner. As the sun started to set, Blue had enough of it.

She kept nudging the hybrid until she got up and left the visitor center. Blue told her to go to her pack and try to fix things.

As she walked there, Noir suddenly spotted Bumpy in the distance, running in the opposite direction of the camp in a panic.

She was gonna try to catch up with the ankylo to find out what´s wrong, when she heared a loud roar coming from the camp.

Noir ran straight towards the sound and soon reached the tree house. She saw the scorpios rex hanging on a tree above the group, but as she tried to come help them, the fence around the camp tased her.

The raptor roared in frustration. Hap tried to fight it off, but quickly got knocked off the plattform, along with some of the other camper. He saw her pacing around the other side of the fence and hurried to the battery to shut it off.

Once the electricity stopped, Noir tried to climb over the fence and broke part of it in the process. She charged towards the tree house and the scorpio jumped down onto her back.

Noir managed to shake it off and both dinosaurs rolled trough the mud, while clawing at each other.

The remaining kids had meanwhile left the tree house. Noir was able to wrestle the scorpio to the floor as a lightning struk a nearby tree, causing it to catch fire.

She froze in panic, giving the other hybrid time to escape. It shoved her off by kicking its hind legs into her stomach and then stared fascinated at the flames, until the rain put them out again.

The kids tried to use the distraction to flee. It jumped between the group, smacked Sammy to the ground with its tail and went after the others.

Noir got over her panic attack in time to see the scorpio going after her pack again. It raised its tail to swipe it at the group trapped by their own fence.

She jumped between them, taking the hit instead. Several spikes dug into her side, making her vision go blurry. The scorpio was about to attack her again, when it heared something in the distance and ran towards that instead.

Noir staggered away from her pack, not wanting to let the same thing happen like last time. She managed to take a few steps before collapsing.

Chapter 15: Antidote

Chapter Text

Panic spread through the camp. The kids rushed to help their injured friends. Brooklyn and Yaz took care of Sammy, while Hap, Darius and Ben went to check on Noir.

The raptor was laying on her side and lazily swung her arms and legs through the air as if she was trying to attack something only she could see.

Hap and the kids approached her from behind to avoid getting clawed by her. They started to pull out all the spikes, causing her to groan in pain with each one.

Once they were done, Darius moved to her head and petted her. Noir looked up at him with cloudy eyes, before loosing consciousness again.

He got up again and saw Yaz running to the lab to get an antidote. Darius and Ben then went to create a diversion for the scorpios rex.

Hap stayed with Noir to try and keep her calm. He barely managed to hold the large carnivore down as she started to have spasms. The attacks became weaker with each passing minute and her breathing got ragged and shallow. Hap kept talking to her to calm her down.

After what felt like an eternity, Yaz finally came limping back to the camp.

Brooklyn took one antidote bottle for Sammy and Hap grabbed the second one for Noir, praying it would be enough for her.

Ben and Darius soon returned to the camp aswell. After Sammy turned out fine, Darius hurried over to Noir.

He crouched down besides Hap next to her head again.

“How is she?” He asked hopefull. Hap stayed silent as he put his hand over Noirs flank. Darius looked down at the motionless hybrid. “No, no, no, she can´t be...” He muttered and started petting her again. “C´mon, Noir, please wake up.”

Darius slung his arms around the still raptors neck. The last time he saw his father suddenly flashed before his eyes. “I´m sorry. I know it wasn´t your fault. Just wake up.” He quietly sobbed against her scales.

It took him a few moments to realize that Noir had started purring. He quickly looked up and saw her watching him through half-lidded eyes.

Darius buried his face against her again, with happy tears this time. “You´re okay...” He whispered in relief.

Noir then noticed the bandages on Darius arm and tried to stand up. Darius and Hap moved to stop her from doing so.

“Wait, Noir, you shouldn´t get up yet. You need rest.” Darius pleaded with her. They all knew they couldn´t really stop her no matter how hard they tried. Luckily Noir decided to give in and layed back down.

Darius hugged her again as he saw what Noir was looking at. “It wasn´t your fault.” He reassured her again and kept petting her.

The group eventually kept gathering supplies for the boat ride back home. Darius had to go after Ben, while the others carried everything to the dock.

Noir trailed behind them, keeping an eye out for any dangers. They had to make a detour as their original path got blocked by fallen trees. After a while of walking, a herd of bioluminescent parasaurs appeared out of nowhere and headed straight towards them.

As the herbivores notice Noir, they changed directions without slowing down. The group decided to follow the herd, until it got attacked by the scorpios rex. They managed to escape as it was too focused on the parasaurs.

The group soon reached the yacht and all got on board. Noir watched them from the dock and was about to turn around and leave when Kenjis voice stopped her.

“Hey Noir. Wanna come with us?”

She nodded and quickly followed them onto the boat. All except Hap stared at her with wide eyes.

“Did she... just nod?” Kenji asked, pointing at the raptor. Hap laughed and the group turned to him for an explanation.

Noir had meanwhile curled up at the front of the boat and soon fell asleep.

Chapter 16: Whatever it takes

Chapter Text

Kenji steered the boat back to the dock and Noir got out to scout the nearby area. Only a single stegosaurus was lingering around next to the ramp. She barked once to let them know that its safe to come out.

Hap left the boat next, soon followed by the kids. Noir led them to a destroyed limousine and then started to follow Darius and Bens scent through the jungle.

They soon came to another area with broken trees and found a young brachiosaurus that got left behind by its herd. The three girls got up to cuddle with it, while Noir was drooling.

Sammy noticed and got between her and the little dino. “No, Noir. No eating poor babys.” Noir huffed annoyed and explored the area instead.

She found Kenjis captains hat and picked it up by its brim. The raptor tossed it up in the air. It took her a few tries, but she eventually managed to make it land on her head.

Kenji was meanwhile ranting complaints about dinosaurs and hybrids, making Noir grumble at that.

“Ehhh, no offense.” Kenji told her, trying to backpaddle.

Noir climbed up one of the fallen trees to perch on it. She watched as the kids imitated brachio calls to lure the herd back. The mother soon returned and took the baby back with into the jungle. After seeing the two dinosaurs interact, Noir got sad for some reason.

They kept tracking down Darius and Ben and soon realized they were heading towards the old park. Noir quickly caught up to them and gave both kids a short scare after she burst through some bushes infront of them.

The rest of the group soon followed. Their reunion got cut short as Indy stepped out of the forest and growled towards the group. They looked uneasy at each other and covered their heads in fear as the hybrid suddenly lunged forward.

Instead of getting attacked themselfs, they heared another dinosaur roar in pain. They looked up and saw Indy having one of the scorpios in her jaws. It kept thrashing and clawing at her face to get free, so she slammed it head first into a nearby tree.

A loud cracking sound was heared and it immediatly went limp. She dropped the dead dinosaur as the second scorpios attacked her. It climbed up her hind leg onto her back and started biting and scratching her.

The Indominus kept spinning around to shake it off and the group had to take cover to not get accidently trampled by her. The scorpios crawled further up her back and bit down at the back of her neck.

Indy roared in pain and swung her head to the left, making the other hybrid loose balance and hang down her right side. She quickly spun her head around before it could climb up again and managed to bite down on its hind leg. Indy pulled it off of her and slammed it into the ground infront of her.

It tried to get up again, but Indy pinned it down with her foot. The kids had to look away as she started to rip it apart. Hap silently gestured for them to leave and they all eagerly agreed.

They headed back to the docks as the sun was setting, admiring all the dinosaurs they saw along the way for the last time. It was already dark by the time they got to the boat and the group said goodbye to Ben, who decided to stay behind on the island.

After getting on board, Noir lowered her head infront of Kenji to give him his hat back. He took it and got into the bridge, while the rest went to the front of the boat.

They started to drive away from the dock, until Ben changed his mind and came running after them. He jumped into the water and Darius pulled him up on the boat. They all sat down to celebrate when a bright light suddenly illuminated them.

Several helicopters headed towards the island, while three of them circled around the boat. Noir tried to camouflage, but the moving lights made it difficult.

Kenji moved the boat back to the dock as two of the helicopters followed the others inland. The remaining heli landed nearby and a armed soldier stepped out of it.

Noir followed her group out of the boat, not taking her eyes off of the gun. The soldier spotted her and aimed his rifle at her, making her snarl in return.

Before the situation could escalate, the camper got between them and all held their hands up. They all talked over each other as they tried to explain and stop him from shooting.

The soldier looked unconvinced, but lowered his rifle a tiny bit.

“Put the gun down. She won´t attack unless you provoke her.” Darius tried to explain. He then looked at his raptor. “Noir, down.”

She grumbled, but relucanlty layed down on her stomach.

After a tense moment, he sighed, put his gun away and helped Hap, Kenji, Ben and Sammy into the helicopter.

The ground suddenly shook, making Noir get up again with a growl. Rexy came out of the forest and roared at the remaining humans on the dock. She scared the pilot and made her take off without the rest.

The rex bit down on the helis landing gear. Noir rushed past the group and jumped onto Rexys side to distract her.

Rexy let go of it to bite Noir instead. However the raptor had already let go of her and hid in the jungle. Her attention was back on the heli and she ate the soldier running after it. Darius, Brooklyn and Yaz decided to run away from the dock, causing the rex to chase after them now.

Noir was following them and bit Rexys leg to distract her again. She managed to escape by climbing over a fallen tree above a cliff. Rexy tried to follow her, but the tree was to small to support her and she roared in frustration after the fleeing hybrid.

Some noises coming from the mosasaurus lagoon then caught her attention instead and she went to investigate.

Noir and the kids watched as she chased someone in a yellow raincoat down main street. He barely managed to escape her on a rope ladder hanging out of a heli, only for the mosa to jump out of the water and eat him instead.

They ran into the direction the heli has gone to and soon saw it land in an open area nearby. Three armed men jumped out of this one and they had to hide behind a large tree root to not get spotted by them.

After making sure the area is safe, one of them gestured for a fourth man in the heli to come out. The kids watched in disbelieve as they saw Dr. Wu step out onto the grass.

“Can´t fly any further in this storm, Doc.” The mercenary explained.

“Did you find the Indominus or not?” Wu asked.

“Comms are down. Haven´t heared back from the other teams.”

“Well, then, Mr. Hawkes, we need to retrieve my research laptop.”

“Where´s that?”

“In my private lab. We´ll have to go on foot. Too bad you didn´t come prepared.” Wu held his umbrella a bit higher as he said that.

“We have different definitions of prepared.” He held his rifle a bit higher and then whistled at his team. “Let´s move!”

They started walking and the three kids had a whispered conversation.

“Why would Dr. Wu be after the Indominus for his research?” Yaz asked worried.

Brooklyn gasped. “He wouldn´t.”

“He would.” Darius disagreed. “Wu wants to make more hybrid dinosaurs.” Behind them, Noir tilted her head and Darius looked at her. “Nothing against you, Noir, but what if it´s gonna be another scorpios rex, or something worse.”

“Yeah, we have to stop him. I know the laptop he´s talking about. We´ll get to it first and destroy it.” Brooklyn explained and got ready to move.

“Or... we don´t.” Yaz said, still sitting behind the root.

“What? Do you really want another scorpios rex running around in the world?”

“I hear you, but Wu is our ticket out of here. If we get caught destroying his stuff, he might not take us home.”

“But if we don´t do anything, countless people could get hurt or worse. People we love, Yaz.” Darius argued.

“Say we destroy the laptop. Then what? He´ll still figure out a way to make more.”

“So, we take it to Costa Rica with us, give it to the authorities, and expose Wu´s plan.” Brooklyn suggested.

“Yeah! He´ll be punished and never be able to do it again.” Darius agreed with her and Yaz sighed.

“Alright. I just... I guess I just wish it wasn´t always up to us.”

“Well, we´re the only idiots on this messed-up island who seem to care about keeping people safe.” Brooklyn told her with a shrug.

“Whatever it takes?” Darius asked and Noir warbled in agreement as she moved closer.

The kids all chuckled. “Then let´s go steal ourselfs a laptop.”

Noir quickly got up first and moved infront of them, blocking their path.

“Noir, what are you doing?” Darius asked her. The raptor crouched low to the floor, looking first at the kids and then at her back. “Guys? I think she is...” He didn´t finished his sentence as he moved to sit down on her back. The two girls looked at each other. “What are you waiting for. We have to hurry.” Darius watched them climb up aswell and sit down behind him. “Better hold onto something.

Once they all sat secure, Noir stood up and ran as fast as she could towards the lab. They reached the lab long before the adults did. Noir helped them to quickly remove everything blocking the door, but had to wait outside while they went to grab the laptop.

She climbed up on the building. Wu and the mercenraies eventually caught up to them. Noir had no way to warn the kids and could only watch as they opened the door and got spotted by them.

Chapter 17: Meeting your maker

Chapter Text

The kids opened the door and froze like deer caught in headlights. Wu and the mercenarys had an equally surprised reaction.

Brooklyn gasped and tried to hide the laptop behind her back, but Hawkes had already seen it.

“They have the laptop!” He called angrily.

“You! You and the other campers, you never made it off the island.” Wu realized.

“Doesn´t matter. Just give us the laptop and no one will get hurt.” Hawkes threatend and pointed his gun at them. The adults walked towards them, while the kids moved backwards away from them.

Brooklyn pretended to put the laptop under her shirt, but actually handed it to Darius. She looked over her shoulder and nodded at them. Darius looked like he wanted to argue, but then took the laptop from her.

“Whatever it takes.” She whispered and looked back at the adults. “Run!”

Darius and Yaz spun around and ran straight into the jungle behind them, while Brooklyn ran into a different direction.

The mercenarys chased after her and she quickly got caught. Hawkes checked her and realized the laptop wasn´t there.

“Her friends took the laptop. Watch her!”

One mercenary stayed behind, while Hawkes and the one went after Darius and Yaz. Noir had watched them from her spot on the roof and quielty climed down the back of the buildings.

She followed the two man into the jungle and noticed them splitting up. Hawkes stayed behind, while the other soldier sneaked closer towards the kids.

The sound of rustling leafes was the only warning he got, before Noir attacked him. Hawkes watched with his binoculars as he got dragged away and then called out for the kids.

“We´re heading to the valley to load up the chopper. That gives you about two hours to get there and bring me that laptop. It´s the only way you´ll ever see your friend again.”

Hawkes had returned to the group when Brooklyn noticed a dinosaur approaching them. A growl echoed through the jungle and the mercenrays pointed their weapons towards the sound.

Brooklyn managed to spot Noir before the others. She ran up to Hawkes and tried to stop him from shooting as the raptor stepped out into the open.

Noir kept growling and moved closer to the group, until the rifles were pointed directly at her.

Both her and the soldiers glared at each other in a stalemate, waiting for the other to attack first.

“Don´t shoot.” Wu´s voice cut through the tension.

“Doc?” Hawkes asked without looking away from the hybrid.

“Is that what I think it is?” Wu asked Brooklyn.

“Another one of your experiments? Yeah.” Brooklyn said and looked back to Hawkes. “Put that gun down.”

“Are you crazy?”

“Hawkes. It is more worth alive.” Wu argued.

“So are we.” He thought for a moment and grumbled as he gave in. “Fine, I only shoot when there´s no other option.”

Both mercenarys didn´t lowered their weapons, but took their fingers away from the trigger.

“I´ve been wondering where the one that hatched had gone to. I guess you stole this one aswell?” Wu asked, referring to his laptop.

“Hey, don´t look at me. She followed Darius out of that lab all on her own.”

“At least one of the Indoraptors survived. All the other eggs didn´t made it.”

Noir had stopped growling as she listened to them.

“Indoraptor?” Brooklyn sneered. “And the others say I was bad at naming stuff.”

“What are we supposed to do with it now?” Hawkes asked impatiently.

Wu was gonna say something, but got interrupted as two monolophosaurus approached the group from the side.

Before anyone could react, Noir rushed towards the other dinosaurs. She managed to get one, while the other quickly fled back into the jungle.

“See how usefull they are.” Wu exclaimed proudly.

“Oh yeah? As usefull as the scorpios rex was?”

Wu waved her off. “It was an unstable prototype. The next one will be better.”

“Or it will be worse. You´re gambling with human lifes. We just got lucky that Noir and Indy turned out to be fine.”

“Indy? The Indominus? You know where it is?”

“Nope.” She lied. “And even if I did, I wouldn´t tell you.”

“Is it at least still alive?”

“Probably?” Brooklyn shrugged.

“Guess I send someone for no reason into the lagoon to check for possible remains.” Wu muttered to himself.

“You what!?”

“Doesn´t matter. We´ll find the Indominus, with or without your help.”

Noir shook her head with a short growl and Wu noticed that.

“She can understand us?”

“Yeah, congratulation. You created a super-intelligent, sentient dinosaur.” Brooklyn mock-applauded him.

Wu hummed in thought. “That it would be smart was to expected, but like this...”

“Wait, what do you mean?”

“Creating a hybrid out of different dinosaurs, that´s what Masrani wanted me to do. But I had bigger things in mind.”

Brooklyn looked at Noir and had to blink a few times as she processed his words. “Don´t tell me you...”

Wu interrupted her. “Used human DNA? Of course I did. It just happened that none of the other scientists were willing to donate some, so I had to use my own.”

“What about the other hybrids?”

“The Indominus was the first I tried it out on. It worked so I continued using it.”

Noir angrily roared at him and got a step closer, causing Hawkes to take a step towards her aswell and raise his rifle a bit higher.

She stared at it with narrowed eyes and camouflaged. The three adults looked alarmed around. A moment later, the gun got ripped out of Hawkes hand and thrown into the nearby foliage.

They kept standing there and waiting, until they were sure that Noir had left.

Noir followed Darius and Yazs trail back to the camp, where they were currently coming up with a plan what to do with the laptop.

Darius came up with a plan, but it nearly got ruined by Kenji taking the laptop and bringing it to the chopper too early.

Noir carried Darius, Yaz and Sammy back to the valley. They arrived just in time to see Kenji and Brooklyn running through the ankylo stampede to safety. The kids jumped off the raptor and headed into the chaos.

With everything going on around them, the ankylos barely paid any mind to the hybrid in their midst.

Hawkes saw that Sammy got the laptop and ran after her. “My patience is wearing thin! The laptop, now!”

Before he could get closer to them, Noir got between them and snarled at Hawkes.

“I got an idea.” Sammy stopped running and turned to the Indoraptor. “Hey Noir. Here.” She threw the laptop and Noir caught it in her jaws midair, immediatly breaking it.

Hawkes fled back to the heli and Noir wanted to go after him, but a few ankylos ran by and blocked her way.

The group escaped to a nearby hill, while Wu and Hawkes got into the chopper.

“How did you let this happen. All my work, gone!” Wu complained as they got a message over the comms.

“All forces, meet at...*static* We got...” *static*

“Please repeat.” Wu said into his headset.

“...ot the I... *static* ...o much blo...” They heared someone gag at the other end before the transmission stopped.

“Better find out what´s going on there.” Hawkes said and flew the helicopter towards where the call came from.

They landed it nearby the old park and headed towards the visitor center. It didn´t took long for them to find the first dead mercenary. The further they got, the more bodies they discovered.

Once they reached the building, they found the reason for the massacre.

The Indominus was laying tranqed in a modified T-Rex trap. Several more bodies were laying all around the clearing, showing the hybrid hadnt gone down without a fight.

The still alive soldiers were getting her ready for transport and taking care of their badly wounded comrades.

Wu stood infront of the trapped, sleeping hybrid and Hawkes walked up next to him.

“This thing will better be worth all these deaths, Doc.”

“It will be. I´ll make sure of that.”

At a different part of the island, Hap and the kids got back on the boat to finally leave. Noir was about to follow them when a raptor call stopped her. She turned around and saw the raptor squad standing near the dock.

Noir trotted away from the yacht and towards the raptors.

“What´s going on?” Yaz asked as they all watched her walk away.

“Maybe they just wanna say goodbye?” Darius guessed.

Noir soon came back, but just stood at the dock instead of getting on the boat. Darius got off again and approached her.

“What´s wrong girl?” She rubbed her head against his chest and let out a low whine. Darius looked past her to the raptors. “Do you wanna stay here?” She looked sad at him and nodded. He slung his arms around her neck to hug her.

The other kids soon followed, all hugging her and saying goodbye to her. She watched from the docks as the boat drove off and the kids waved at her.

Noir then followed the raptors back to their territory to deal with the intruders.

Chapter 18: Escape from Nublar

Chapter Text

Noir was running towards the old park as fast as she could, the other raptors followed close behind her. As they got closer to their destination, the smell of blood lingering in the air became so heavy that it was almost sickening.

Yet they still kept running.

With that much blood covering their path, Noir was confused to not see a single body anywhere.

Perhabs the other humans had already collected them all, she figured.

By the time they finally reached the visitor center, the humans had already packed up and were about to leave. All the helis were already in the air and only Indy in her cage was still on the ground.

Noir watched as a large chopper started to lift the cage into the air. She ran forward, but suddenly froze as a flare gun was fired at her from another helicopter.

The panicked raptor retreated back into the jungle and could only watch as her old friend got carried away from the island.

A few hours went by with her still pacing around the area, hoping for the off chance they might return. She eventually gave up and headed back to the docks.

Of course the boat and the kids were long gone by now. Not knowing where else to go, she returned to their empty camp.

Days went by with her still guarding it from other dinos, just in case the kids might come back. Bumpy would occasionally join her, also looking for them.

Both dinosaurs would lay next to each other for hours, hoping for any sign of them returning.

Today, Noir was by herself again, when she noticed something was off.

There was the faint scent of humans in the air.

And the scents were strangely familiar.

She was immediatly on her feet and rushed towards its source. After getting there, she someone being chased by Limbo.

Noir ran forward and rammed into the barys side, knocking him over. They had a short roaring match, until Limbo decided to back off.

The human had meanwhile fled up on a nearby tree. Noir turned towards him and got disappointed as she realized that it wasn´t Darius. That human still looked alot like him and even smelled similar.

Seeing that he wasn´t a threat and was scared of her, Noir was about to leave when two tranq darts suddenly hit her. The dazed raptor turned around and saw Dave and Roxie coming out of some bushes towards them.

Two more darts hit her, knocking her out completely.

As she woke up again, she had a bad headache. There was a weird voice in her head telling her to stand up and three people were standing around her.

Being still dazed and not knowing whats going on, Noir decided to listen to the voice for now. She got up on four legs and warily eyed the group. There were two men holding strang devices. She recognized Hawkes being the third person in the group.

Once her vision cleared up, she also noticed a dimorphodon sitting eerily calm on the ground nearby. What confused her the most however was how calm the humans were, despite having two carnivores standing right next to them.

The two men with the devices pressed a few buttons on them and the voice in her head told her to follow them. She saw the dimorph take off and fly after them. Noir followed them after a moment, curiosity getting the better of her.

The sun was already setting as they reached the visitor center. Noir was exceptionally glad that the other raptors weren´t around. Maybe they were currently hunting or the humans had scared them away earlier.

Kenji gasped in shock as he saw Noir following the group out of the jungle. Noir was almost ignoring the voice to go greet Kenji, but then she got a bad feeling.

Something wasn´t right, at all. Why is he here alone? Where are the other camper?

Deciding against blowing her cover, the raptor kept following the commands.

The brought all the dinosaurs to the private dock the next morning. Two boats and a waterplane were waiting for them there.

Kenji helped Mae feed the dino before putting them into cages. The mercenary by the dimorph made it eat its share and then left.

With only Kenji and Mae being around, Noir didn´t bothered waiting for her signal. It startled them both and they looked at each other.

“I didn´t made her do that.” Kenji whispered and waved the device around with one hand. “Noir?”

The raptor briefly looked at him and then kept eating. Kenji moved his hands over the device to pretend he was using it. Noir stopped moving as Kenjis father walked up behind them. He told Mae to gather more dinosaur DNA samples, leaving it to Kenji to move the dinosaurs into the crates.

Once he was alone with her, he gave her the command to move, but Noir slightly shook her head with a short growl.

“C´mon Noir.” Kenji whispered, trying to convince the hybrid to move. “We´re both gonna be in big trouble if you don´t go in there.”

Noir eventually walked into the crate and Kenji locked it behind her. He then watched the cage being loaded onto the smaller boat, instead of the big one with all the other dinosaurs on.

Kenji hurried to find his father for answers as the small boat headed towards the mainland.

Chapter 19: The auction

Chapter Text

As soon as the door closed, Noir was left standing in complete darkness. There wasn´t even a single tiny crack that would let atleast some light into the crate.

A few minutes went by, until the crate started to move. Noir had fallen asleep at some point and woke up again as the crate stopped moving.

She could hear several people outside, yelling orders at eachother. The doors of her crate swung open, revealing a dark corridor with another cage at the end of it. She slowly walked forward and saw a large waterbowl and a pile of meat in the back of the new cage.

Once she got there, the cage door closed and the cage got pulled by some tracks in the floor. Noir passed rows of empy cages along the way. She noticed noises coming from a cage at the end of the basement that was lot bigger then the others.

Noir started to claw at the bars of her cage to break out as she saw Indy laying in that other cage. After seeing her, Indy got up and rammed against the bars of her own prison.

Their efforts were in vain as none of the bars gave in.

Noirs cage got placed on the opposite wall of indys and both hybrids eventually calmed down again.

At least they were able to see and talk to each other.

Her training started a week later.

The back of her cage opened, leading to a wider area. Three training dummies were standing lined up in the middle of the area. A red laser pointer was aimed at one of them.

She immediatly understood what they wanted, but when her signal to attack came, she refused to do it.

It would often lead to her having to go a few days without food.

Her situation only got worse as they found out that shes scared of fire. She eventually had to give in and do what they wanted.

Outside of her training sessions, people in white coats would often stop by at their cages to check on them. Wu was occasionally among those groups.

Noir memorized all of them, silently vowing to make them pay for everything once she get out.

A few months went by when something unusual happened. The empty cage next to Noirs got moved away. Both hybrids got confused by that, but didn´t thought much of it.

Who knows what those crazy people are up to anyway?

An hour passed and Noir had almost dozed off as the cage got brought back. She glanced at the cage and blinked in confusion.

Did they put a mirror into that cage?

It reminded her of all the times she looked at her reflection in the water. She stood up and expected the one in the mirror to do the same, but it didn´t.

The other Indoraptor just stared at Noir, being just as lost as she is.

After the inital shock wear off, her being ecstatic would´ve been the understatement of the century. The younger raptor sat awkwardly in his cage and watched her bounce around. Noir eventually calmed down and took a closer look at her new neighbor.

He was still a few feet smaller then her and had beautiful a golden stripe going down his flanks instead of purple.

The three hybrids spend some time introducing themselfs. After finding out that Ripper had never been outside before, Noir started telling him about everything she knew.

About the sky and the sun, the moon and stars coming out at night. About the ocean and the jungle. And of course all the adventures she been through with her families.

Indy wasn´t sure if Ripper believed what Noir was telling him, but atleast it gave them something to pass the time.

A few days went by, until the training continues. The humans forced the two Indoraptors to take turns. On one day Noirs cage would open and on the next Rippers.

It stayed like this for a month, until one day both their cages opened at the same time. They looked at each other and then headed to the training area.

Noir reached it first. There were alot more dummies placed down then usual. Both hybrids ignored them for now to interact with each other instead.

They curiously circled each other and had a short playfight. Their fun got interrupted as two laser pointer got aimed at two different targets.

Both raptors let the other know which targets they choose and waited for the signal to attack. A while later, all the dummies were destroyed and they had to go back into their cages.

There was a small disturbance one day, as a young girl came wandering down the stairs, but she didn´t get far. As soon as she spotted indy in her cage, she got scared and ran back up, getting caught by Mills.

Some hours passed, when there was another change in their usual routine. All the empty cages were moved around in the basement.

They soon heared voices coming from outside, not just from people, but dinosaurs aswell. Noir immediatly recognized Rexys loud, booming voice. She then heared the baryonyx trio anxiously talking among themselfs.

There were the voices of dozens of different herbivores with a few carnivores between them. Rexys cage got loaded in first, getting moved right next to Indys.

Both of them were not happy with this arrengement and angrily snarled at each other through the bars. An Apatosaurus was moved in next, followed by the three barys. They got split up in three different cages and were just as unhappy about that.

Noir then heared Echo, Delta and Charlie frantically whispereing to each other. She called out to them and they eventually told her that Blue got injured and they don´t know where she is. The three raptors also got put into different cages. They watched as more and more dinosaurs got moved into the basement.

Meanwhile at a residential building not to far away from Lockwoods mansion, Darius and Kenji were having a video call with Brooklyn. Thanks to Kenjis informations, she was able to locate a few possible locations where they could´ve taken Noir too.

She held a map up against her screen, showing them the coordinates of an old mansion north of their location. Both decided to go check it out tonight and packed their backpacks with a few essentials.

They couldn´t allow the others in the house to know they were leaving, so they decided to sneak outside through the window. After successfully getting to the ground, they heared someone clear their throat and both turned towards the sound.

Brand stood nearby with crossed arms. “And where do you two think you´re going?” He asked with barely hidden glee.

“Uh, we were just...” Darius tried to explain, but his brother interrupted him.

“I don´t really wanna know, but...” He walked up to them and put his hands on Darius and Kenjis shoulder, giving them both a sidehug. “I won´t tell anyone you´re sneaking out when you take me with you.”

Seeing no other option, they agreed to let him join their search mission.

Back in the mansion, the dinosaurs had barely managed to settle down, as the cages started to move again. An ankylosaurus was brought outside, followed by an young allosaurus. As Chaos was taken away, the other two barys were freaking out, but couldn´t do anything to stop it.

Noir was getting annoyed by someone constantly whistling in a nearby cage and suddenly heard a loud crash. All the other dinos got agitated as they saw one of them had managed to escape. Stiggy ran out of her cage, soon followed by two humans.

She tried to see where they were going as her cage suddenly moved. Ripper and Indy were now freaking out, too.

Noirs cage was pulled through a dark hallway and a sudden bright light at the end blinded her momentarily. After her eyes adjusted, she found herself in a room filled with dozens of humans all staring at her. A few soldiers with prods were standing around her cage and started to tase her through the bars.

She roared in pain and fury and tried to bite down on the prods, but they always pulled them back out before she could get them. Her cage eventually stopped in the middle of the room.

Noir soon heared the familiar buzzing of the laser pointer and turned towards the human it was pointed at. She expected them to open the door so she could reach her target, but the signal to attack came with the cage still locked.

The Indoraptor tried his best to reach him by sticking her hands through the bars, but he was just to far away.

Noir got frustrated and paced around in her cage as the people around her started yelling numbers. She looked up at the man at the podium and added him to her list.

A panic broke out as Stiggy came out of the elevator and charged at one of the security guards. All the people jumped off their seats and tried to get away from the rampaging dinosaur. Noir saw a guard aim his rifle at Stiggy, but another human pulled it up just in time.

A few shots got fired in the air. The loud noises and nearly getting shot spooked both dinosaurs. Noir watched with malicious joy as Stiggy kept attacking everyone.

Her cage suddenly started to move back again. She then saw the same guy who stopped the other guard earlier still fighting with the other guards. He reached for a nearby lever and her cage stopped moving.

Noir glared at him with a growl as she tried to figure out if he´s a friend or a foe. He did beat up the guards that tased her, but then he stopped her from getting back to her pack.

All the humans soon had fled the area, along with Stiggy. A single, armed person suddenly came walking back in, yelling for someone.

Noir kept pacing around in her cage and tried to bite through the bars as that guy came closer. He pointed his rifle at her and she tried again to claw at him through the bars. Two tranq darts got fired at her and she started to get dizzy.

Seeing that he was about to shoot again, she pretended to fall asleep. A few seconds went by when she heared the door to her cage swing open. He then walked into the cage and to her head. She still kept her eyes close as she felt him trying to pull out one of her teeth.

Noir decided to have some fun with this idiot and raised the tip of her tail a bit. As the pulling stopped, she dropped her tail and opened her eyes. She smiled and quickly closed her eyes again as he kept trying to get one of her teeth.

The raptor raised her tail again, but he noticed it this time. Seeing that play-time was over, she quickly bit down on his arm holding the pliers. She kept chewing through his arm, while she pulled him into the air, until it eventually came off.

He fell back to the floor and weakly tried to crawl away as she ate his arm. She then moved right up to him, considering wether or not she would keep his hat as souvenir. Noir decided to keep it, so she carefully removed it from his hat to not get dirty with blood and then killed him.

A loud scream suddenly caught her attention and she saw the guy that wanted to sell her trying to escape with the elevator. Noir got out of her cage and charged towards him.

She almost made it, but the doors closed right infront of her and she angrily slammed her tail against the wall. The elevator doors opened again and she quickly got in to finish what she started.

Noir was so focused on her task that she didn´t noticed the doors had closed behind her. It was a pretty awkward elevator ride up. Since the other people in the elevator didn´t seem to be threats, Noir left them alone. They all stood as far away from her as possible with their backs pressed against the walls. As soon as the doors opened, Noir got out and continued her search. Unaware to her right after she got in the elevator, three people had snuck into the building the same way Wheatley had used.

Noir kept looking for a way back down, when she heared voices nearby. Two armed men were standing in the hallway right infront of her. She charged forward and rammed them into a different corridor, quickly taking care of them. Noir soon found herself in weird room with lots of dinosaur bones put on display.

She thought she was hearing someone and took a look around. Spotting the same guy from earlier, Noir decided to go after just to be safe. They fled up the stairs where they managed to loose her for now.

The humans turned off the lights, but Noir still managed to find them on the lower floor again. After the lights got back on, Noir broke through a glass wall, but some falling debris stopped her from reaching them.

She then saw the young girl running away and with being increasingly frustrated about not getting to the adults, she started chasing her instead.

Maisie managed to escape in the food elevator and Noir climbed out the window to look for a different route. Noir got onto the roof of the building and followed the girls scent towards her room. The Indoraptor was hanging upside down from the roof as she opened the balcony door with her claws.

She hopped down onto the balcony and slowly entered the bed room. Seeing the kid not being a threat, Noir started to rethink her decision. The kid was obviously still scared of her. Noir didn´t knew what to do and just stood in the middle of the room as the door suddenly burst open.

Owen came in with a gun and fired three times at Noir. The Indoraptor stumbled backwards a bit, but quickly got his bearings again. He aimed at her again, but his rifle turned out empty.

Noir was about to attack him when Blue suddenly appeared in the doorway next to him. Owen thought they would gonna fight, but instead Blue went up to the Indoraptor to greet her. The humans watched as the dinosaurs seemingly checked each others injuries.

Both raptors then looked at Owen, Blue with annoyance and Noir with clear distrust. Blue picked up the rifle he had dropped in her jaws and destroyed it.

Noir then layed down to lick her wounds. Owen told Maisie to slowly get down from the bed and walk towards him. She hesitantly did so.

“Looks like they´re friends.” The girl whispered as they watched the dinosaurs interact from behind the doorframe. They then heared several voices coming from down the hallway.

Darius and Brand were helping Clair walk towards them, while Kenji trailed behind them.

“Thanks for the help.” Clair said to the two brothers after they reached the others.

“I don´t wanna sound ungratefull, but what are you doing here? This place isn´t safe.” Owen told them.

“We know, it´s just...” Darius glanced over his shoulder to Kenji for a second. “We just looking for someone.”

Owen got cut off as, after hearing his voice, Noir had stuck her head through the doorframe and happily warbled.

“Noir!” The teen pushed past the adults, despite them trying to stop him, and hugged the Indoraptor. “Can´t believe I finally found you.” He whispered.

After ending the hug, Darius looked back at the group. Owen, Claire, Maisie and Brand all gaped at him.
