Chapter Text

As you're flying through the air at what feels like mach speed but is probably much slower, you think to yourself: How did you get here?

Was it perhaps when you released that Clown from it's cage? No, you tired him out and gotten a nice reward for your troubles. Maybe it was loading the Email guy into that body? Even though you won the fight by releasing him from the strings, it sure didn't feel like it. Watching him just fall over once that final string was cut and all the music stopped was… unnerving. Much more unnerving was killing your party members in that weird game.

But it probably begins with the KNIGHT that was the start of your mistakes. IT destroyed your party members with a single blow and the only reason you were able to ‘win’ was spamming the Revive Mints. Not like it mattered much - all what you got from it was a Shadow Crystal and a weird Black Shard.

So where were you going with this? Ah, right, the reason you're imitating a bullet. Noelle slipped on accident and sent the Angel Doll plus you flying. As the Angel Doll breaks when finally hitting a wall, you're flung conveniently to that room. The one where your landlord? owner? friend? bestie? oomfie? enem- Kris ripped you out just so that you couldn't read the numbers on that guitar. You land on the ground and waste no time going to the guitar once again since this time you can finally read the numbe-

SKJSHWIWHSOSHSJJSLAKAN!

You felt something heavy collide with you, breaking you out of your floaty state and reuniting you with the floor. You see Kris crawl out of the bed and go to you, picking you up when suddenly the door opens and a flashlight shines on you both. Right when Kris is holding you.

“...Kris? What are you h-holding there?” Says Noelle, her tone concerned and questioning. Right behind her you see a Susie-like silhouette start to approach and you feel Kris alternate between staring at you and then Noelle. Eventually they respond:

“...a smoothie.” Their tone and voice being very raspy and quiet, probably because they were not used to speaking which was. Concerning. Because that would mean you weren’t a helpful guid- Wait no nevermind, you need to get out of here! You try to wriggle your way out of their hand but their grip is too great for your feeble body. Noelle notices you moving and lets out a loud SCREEEEECH, dropping her flashlight for the second time that day. Kris immediately opens the closet nearby and shoves you there right before Susie-like footsteps are heard nearby and stop moments later.

“Ummm… (Kris you dumbass, you were supposed to be searching for clues! Not pranking Noelle and me!)” You hear the whispers from your new prison cell, this one being much more better than your previous five(or you guess one since the other four were when you were inhabiting Kris)you were in. The birdcage had much less room to float around, that's for sure…

Noelle sighs and presumably picks up her flashlight if the noises are to be believed. “Seriously Kris? I thought it was a real beating heart for a second! (Much more realistic than the previous times, that's for sure.)” It is here that you realise that there are still some things to do, and that's making noise which you're very good at! You start making thuds within the closet by throwing yourself at walls and whatever is nearby.

“Huh? What's that noise coming from the closet?” Susie says and tries to go closer before someone else(probably Kris) stops them. “Fine, we won't look unless we hear more noise being made.” As she says that you notice one of the creepy wind up dolls in your jail, perfect for making noise! You push against it and activate the doll, creating obnoxious noise from the closet.

“Hey, you hear that Noelle? Let's investigate the source of the nois- Kris stop trying to block our way. If the noises become louder I'll have to use my secret technique I learned!” And that's the cue for you to find another creepy doll. You push one of the boxes away and lo and behold, a creepy doll right below it! You activate it and more obnoxious music fills your jail. Much better than the screams of pain and anguish that accompany you normally.

“C'mon Kris let me see inside of the closet… fine, if you're going to be like that, then- WAIT WHAT'S THAT TO THE LEFT OF YOU!” She shouts and then you hear rapid footsteps to your closet before it opens. You stare however much you can at Susie and she stares back. It's completely silent up until she closes the closet with over the top strength, a loud THUD being heard and making you flinch. You back away as far as you can. Which is not much.

“Kris. Kris. Kris. Kris. What the hell is that, KRIS???”She asks and you hear someone being picked up by their shirt. “Why is there a heart in the closet? Actually more better question - why is it the same one as the SOUL you used when sealing the fountains???” She asks and shakes Kris… completely forgetting about the giant elephant(but more accurately, the small deer)in the room.

“Umm… Susie? What do you mean by that last one?” She asks, her voice concerned and questioning. “Wait, you don't mean fountains as in… Dark Fountains?” Her voice becoming disbelieving as she utters the last two words.

You already know that today will be surely a very, VERY long day.

Chapter Text

There's a long silence after Noelle asked her question. You're pretty sure she's looking at Kris and Susie, waiting for them to be confused by her words… but they're probably just standing like they've been caught with their hand in the cookie jar instead.

“Wait… wait wait wait wait if that wasn't a dream…” She starts mumbling to herself and from the few things you hear, you can make a guess that she's saying something like this:

If Dark Fountains are real, then yesterday wasn't a dream. If yesterday wasn't a dream, then she actually saw the real Susie. If she saw the real Susie…

“DID I ACTUALLY GO TO THE FERRIS WHEEL WITH YOU???” She shouts with a perfectly reasonable volume in your opinion. “Wait doesn't that mean you actually have a tai-” She says again in a questioning tone before Susie cuts her off.

“No I don't have a tail-” Susie denies very quickly and then continues. “-but we should probably continue that conversation in Kris's house… Right after we decide what to do with that SOUL in the closet. What is it anyways, Kris?”

“...I would call it a parasite, but parasite is not accurate no matter how I- cough cough, ugh. No matter how I wish.” You're pretty sure they're starting to cough some blood and are having problems with standing still. One of the many downsides that happen if you're not helping them.

“It sort of… helps me?.. without it, I start having problems the longer I go being… soulless?” They explained to their friends.

“So then why do you call it a parasite? Isn't it good to have it?” Susie asks while you hear some footsteps start backing away… it's probably Noelle realizing why exactly Kris calls you a parasite.

“Oh god… it's because it controls your body, isn't it?” Noelle says horrified. “That's why you haven't been acting like yourself lately… oh god oh god oh god-” She continues muttering to her, completely terrified. You don't really understand why she's acting like that? You're good and helpful, aren't you?

There's silence from Susie before eventually she says: “...well, I have a simple plan then.” Susie says before opening the jail door and freeing you from the cage known as the Closet. You try to float away before OWDAMRHDUBEIEB.

Susie grabs you, not that painful but not gentle either. “It’s sentient, right? Then we just threaten it until it stops controlling you!” Huh??? What does Susie mean by that? You're just doing your job!

“...Susie I don't think that's going to? work?” Tells Kris to Susie, their tone as confused as you are. Which is probably because you're such a helpful guide that they don't see any reason you need to be removed!

Yep, definitely that. You and Kris are buddies and oomfies for life. Nothing else. Nothing. Else.

“Look here, ‘soul’ or whatever you're called.” Susie says and puts you before her eyes. “You will stop harassing my friend or.” Her eyes go black, jaw open as she puts her hand with you closer to her mouth… before pulling her hand plus you away. “Well, I'm sure you can guess what will happen.”

After that she throws you over to Kris who looks at you confused, before returning to their signature neutral face. They take you and put you back inside. You begin starting to get adjusted with seeing from the above, having an actual body and other tomfoolery before Susie goes over to you.

“Hey Kris. Is that you?”

Yes ❤️ No

“Huh… you do sound much different than real Kris. Well anyways, bring Kris back now.” Her tone is impatient as she stares down at your current body. How would you even bring Kris back?.. hmmmm, you guess you can probably do this-

Suddenly the world feels much harder to see. You take a moment to adjust and you notice that you see things from… the perspective of Kris? That's weird. That never happened before-

“huh?” Mutters very much not you. Well that's neato, you can give Kris control like that! Wait, is that what they see when you're controlling them? That must be why they were feeling fear when fighting the first few times. They probably weren't able to see the bullets all around themselves like you can, were they?

“K-kris? Is that you?” Says Noelle(you completely forgot about her for a second there), going over to yo- Kris. Right, you're not in control right now.

“...yes? Why did that work? It never did that before, no matter how many times I-” They say before cutting themselves off. You wonder what they wanted to say? You know the answer but you would rather not remember.

“Is that thing still there then?” Susie asks a very good question. Can you still say things?

Yes Not a thing

“Huh? Wait, it considers me a friend???” Susie says, startled. Why would she be though?

We are friends ❤️ We aren't friends?

“...well then, I guess I made two friends for the price of one?” Exclaims Susie confused. It's then that you suddenly feel pushed down and your vision grows a bit more foggy.

“Ugh, that was weird.” Mutters you Kris. They're controlling right now, not you. “Is that what it feels like when I try to say things?”

After that, everything starts to feel much more foggy and darker… You're pretty sure that they talked to Asgore and left a note for someone named Carol? Then they went to Kris's house but it was locked so they decided to go to the Church beca-

OHEJOSBWOWBSO- What was that. You felt like you were drowning and only catching glimpses… but suddenly it stopped?

You're sensing fear from Kris as they stare into the Church doors… that had black smokes coming from the inside.

“That damn KNIGHT! Making a dark world where everyone can see… well, let's think about this logically…” Says Susie with a calculative look. “There's only one exit here so if we just wait for the Knight to leave, we'll be able to catch it. Right?”

“Yes, but what about Toriel?” Says Noelle who apparently went with youKris? “Isn't she at the choir practice?”

“...we can't leave her there, can we? Alright. C'mon Kris, Noelle!” She says before opening the doors and jumping in. Kris takes Noelle by her hand and jumps in after Susie with Noelle giving a screEEEEch as she falls down with them.

You fall and are greeted with a very grand looking place. The colors are mostly deep blue and you see many random patterns on the walls and carpets. Some have an eye on them and others something else. A simple puzzle on the piano catches your metaphorical eye as you listen to Kris play it. It sounds… much better than when you try it.

As the party goes forwards you notice Susie exclaim and point towards the fountain. That was quic-

A giant ROAAAR makes your vision red and knocks you Kris and Susie back. Noelle takes them both by their hands and goes backwards, away from the threat.

You see The Roaring Knight at the end of the staircases. Its eye moves into a question mark-like silhouette once it notices Kris, Susie and Noelle. With another ground shattering ROAAAAAAAAR, Kris and Susie are left vulnerable long enough for a sword to materialize next to Susie. The sword plunges down and is about to damage Susie when-

Noelle casts Ice-Shock!

The sword becomes engulfed in ice and freezes(both literally and figuratively) in the air. Susie notices the sword and steps to the left, right when it unfreezes and barely grazes her. As you see more swords materialize, you realise that today will be MUCH more interesting then yesterday.

Chapter Text

Krismas POV

As you(and how long has it been since you could say that?) weave through the swords thrown by her, you feel alive and free for the first time in what feels like forever. This time, YOU call the shots. No one else moves your body like a puppet on strings. You feel like you're on the top of the worl-

-51 HP!

Ouch. A sword slashed through you from behind, the pain reminding you that the world doesn't revolve around you. You summon your trusty shield and start dodging once again, blocking the swords that dangle too close. But as you block and dodge, the swords don't slow down. No, they increase. Each dodge is harder than the previous and when you see swords coming from all sides, you're ready to accept your “defeat”. The only reason you bothered to dodge was to not alert your friends(they are your friends… right?) of your ‘alliance’ with her.

So that's why it's a surprise when you see multiple Ice Shocks being cast and freezing most of the swords. The swords that haven't been frozen barely graze you as you stand there, frozen. After the shock passes you give Noelle a thumbs up to thank her for-

-51 HP! -51 HP!

Two swords slash through your body, bringing you to your knees. Probably shouldn't have been distracted while she was still attacking. More swords are summoned and start flying into your direction as you're staring at them. Oh well, this was the expected result. As one of the swords is about to slash through you and finally swoon you, your body is

And as it dodges the sword by dashing to the left, it jumps and ducks and does all sorts of tricks to dodge the attacks but at this point you're not paying attention because… you couldn't be that lucky, now could you? Of course it is still here, why would you ever think otherwise? Nothing in your angel forsaken life could go right, now could it? So now you will do what you do so often and wait. You're already sick of it and it hasn't been a minute yet…

Susan POV

Susie thinks that this is going pretty bad in her not so professional opinion. The Roaring PEST is mockingly laughing at you as you break another stupid sword by casting Rude Buster. It seems that these swords are poorer quality than the one they wield since they break in a single good hit. Which is good, because there are so many of them it's not even fucking funny.

But you don't dare to take your eyes off your opponent since you know that they can do that lightning fast attack any moment. And you see it - The Knight has summoned their sword and with a THUNDEROUS noise echoing throughout the room slashes towards you with unbelievable speed…

But you predict it and block the sword with your axe. The Knight seems confused for a second, it's eye turning into a question mark-like silhouette before it simply starts applying more pressure on the axe. As you start to slowly get pushed back, the Knight surely thinks that they're winning…

Susie casts Rude Buster!

And then the Knight's expression turns pained as it gets pushed back, the scream it exclaims being music to your ears. You don't even dare giving it a moment to recover from taking a Rude Buster to the face, so with a dash to them you start swinging with your axe multiple times. After one last good swing it ROAAAAAAAARS and knocks you back away.

But as you land, you quickly realizes that something's very, very wrong. You're not holding your god-dAMN AXE WHERE IS IT-

You see the Knight standing there with the smuggest grin it's eye can form as it holds your axe. Sword forgotten in favor of it's new weapon, they charge at you with noticeably slower speed so you're barely able to dodge the attack. It swings multiple times but the attacks are sloppy, so you dodge each one. They clearly are getting frustrated and start swinging wildly, hoping to strike you at least once. But as you're barely grazing through the attacks, you see an opening and uppercut the bastard with a mean right hook that stuns it for a moment and allows you to quickly take your axe back.

The Knight tries to summon another sword to wield but you're faster and swipe with your axe at their face. It opens it's mouth and does another ROAA-

Susie casts Rude Buster!

But you stop it with your Rude Buster, the Knight shrieking to the heavens but no noise is heard from them.

“Not so tough now that you don't have any cheap tricks up your sleeve, are ya?” You say with a bloodthirsty smirk and swing your axe-

-115 HP! -114 HP!

But two swords slash behind you, almost knocking you down. The Knight lifts their arm towards you and a purple beam starts to suck you in like a Black Hole. Star like projectiles erupt from the hand and are flying towards you as you're helpless to dodge it.

Noelle casts Heal Prayer! +55 HP! -22 HP! -22 HP!

But somehow Noelle heals you right before the projectiles connect with you. And when the attack ends, you stand up and look at the Knight… who is staring at Noelle, almost like analyzing her. It seems to have seen something interesting because it immediately flies towards her and tries to grab her when Kris pushes Noelle out of the way and is grabbed instead.

The Knight takes one look at Kris and then throws them towards you, and when we collide I feel the floor BREAK under us. As we fall you see Noelle being grabbed by the Knight so with the last of your strength you cast Rude Buster. But then suddenly you fall into something glass shaped and-

-1HP!

Angel's POV

Noelle is having a very bad, no good day as she's staring at… well, you don't know their? name if you're to be honest. They are currently holding on your arm, the grip being tight but somehow gentle at the same time. The coldness around them feeling right despite the suffocating aura it emits. As they hold you by your arm, you can see many details previously unseen. The antlers on their head, the way they only have one eye and the strange shape their body is structure-

-257 HP!

They suddenly drop Noelle and are knocked away by a powerful burst of magic that came out of seemingly nowhere, giving Noelle the perfect opportunity to run!.. but you don't .Because your ‘enemy’ has been behaving quite strange this fight.

The swords have never hit you and would even swerve out of your way despite the fact that Kris doesn't get the same luxury. And you're curious as to know the answer to why they haven't been hitting you, so instead you simply casts Heal Prayer on them. As the green magic outlines their body, they look at you confused. They stare at Noelle as she's trying to think of something to say…

But unbeknownst to her, the Knight is seeing… potential in her. They see power within her that could be guided to it's true potential with her their help. For while they are many and few, infinite and finite, it's been a long time since they saw something like this.

This Vessel truly is the best one in a long while. Its connections have gained them alliance with the Cage and now it presents upon them an ANGEL to turn into their side. They ignore the way they feel happy at the sight of her. The way it would be correct once she's on their side.
