   Summary

   Jim realizes things haven't been the same since Altamid. The Enterprise-A isn't the same ship as the Enterprise. The crew is being paranoid and superstitious. And on top of all that, Spock and Bones favor each other's company to his own.

   Title of the fic comes from "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin. There's a bit of sailing as a metaphor and literally, a mystery, a character study, and a slow burn between McCoy and Spock. Set post-Beyond.
