Chapter 1: Held by the Throat

Chapter Text

Laurie paced around, her fingers clenching and twitching. Her knuckles still raw from wrenching free of a hook minutes ago. She limped for a bit as the fog around her hadn’t fully lifted yet. Its tendrils curled around like cracked cement in the atmosphere. The trial didn't go as they planned. Laurie, Meg, Heather, and Dwight were selected for this round in the Wreckers Yard.

Things were going smoothly as the killer hadn't shown themselves as they made their way to repairing the generators. It wasn't until Dwight started yelling that he was being chased when things stared to go downhill when he got hooked. Laurie made the move to go and unhook him as she told the others to continue with the repairs. Laurie located Dwight in time as he looked pale from the blood loss. When she got to him to get him down, Dwight looked up and starting screaming at her.
"No! You gotta get out of here! He's camping nearby!" He shouted to her. Laurie was too late to look in time she felt the knife slash into her, making her stumble down in pain. She felt herself being latched unto the hook that Dwight once occupied. Dwight threw a pebble at the killer, drawing his attention away from her. The two ran off away from her, leaving her alone as she struggled to get herself off the damn thing.

Heather merged from nearby and managed to be the one to unhook her before they needed to split as the killer came back after Dwight lost him. They bolted in seperate directions. Better for one of them to get their attention while the others finish with generators. Laurie was the unlucky one that the killer set his eyes on for as he gave chase to her. She rounded the corner of some piled up cars being careful to not expose herself again. When Laurie glanced thats when she noticed him fully.
The puff of black mist swirled around him as his ghost mask stood out in stark contrast to his outfit. Ghostface tilted his head slightly as he noticed her hiding spot. He began to stalk his way towards her in a brisk pace. Laurie turned to run. She needed to buy the others more time to finish the generators. Ghostface was making large strides to get to her.

“Surprised you're still breathing,” came his voice. Smooth. Mocking. Somewhere behind her.

Laurie turned to look behind her. A spike of adrenaline coursed through her as noticed how close in proximity he was getting to her. Ghostface lunged forward with his knife coming down towards her. She managed to move in time as the knife sliced through the air. Laurie countered with stabbing him in the shoulder with a shard. It didn't go as deep as she wanted, however seeing him flinch from the impact was enough for her to bolt away and get some distance from him.

Ghostface pulled the shard out with a grunt as he looked over to see her vault over a window sill. He loved it when they ran. Made things more exciting for him. Laurie managed to locate a locker to hide herself in. Her breathing coming out in large gulp from exerting herself. She covered her mouth to muffle her breathing as she peaked through the slits of the locker.

'Thump Thump' the sounds of heavy steps could be heard somewhere close. Laurie prayed that he wouldn't check the lockers and move to another area so she can make a rendezvous with the others. The footfalls stopped and it was all quiet. Laurie took another glance and saw it was clear for her, opening the locker carefully as to not make noise. She was halfway through when she felt herself fall forward to the ground.

Ghostface was pinning her down with body weight. “This is nice. I haven’t had a challenge in long time" he said straddling her as he wraps his arm around her neck, blocking some airflow. Laurie struggled to breath as he applied more pressure to her neck. He smiled underneath his mask.

“I have a thing for challenges,” he said in a low husky voice as he leaned in to her ear. He brandished his knife and held it to her neck. Laurie gritted at the sensation.

"Just get it over with and Mori me" she spat out as the knife dug in more nicking her skin. Ghostface paused momentarily as some blood started to pour out slightly. He was going to enjoy hurting her. He pulled the knife away and was going to plunge it into her back.

'DING DONG!" The chime of the final generator went off signaling that generators were repaired. Ghostface was distracted briefly by the sound, giving Laurie an opening and time to stab him with another shard. This time she planted it in his neck. Blood spewed from him as Laurie shoved him off of her. He landed on his back clutching his neck. She got up from underneath him, looking down at him as he choked on his blood.

"Should've Mori'd when you had the chance you Bitch!" her voice coming out in a rasp she gave him a good kick in the ribs before sprinting off to meet the others. Ghostface watched her retreating form as he laid bleeding on the ground, his vision was going blurry. White hot rage coursed through him as he ripped out the shard. This was not over. Next time they meet he's going gut her like a fish.
