Chapter Text

It was the first day of school after summer break and Aphmau and Her mom had just moved back to this town.

“Aphmau, Aphmau get up or you’re going to be late” she yelled as she banged on the door.

“What… are you talking about”

“I’m talking about you first day of high school and the fact you need to get up” Sylvanna said as she picked Aphmau uniform out of the closet and left it on the bed.

“Ok, ok I’m getting up” Aphmau sat up and grabbed her uniform. “you know you’re acting like I have have five minutes until school”

“I just don’t want you to be late you know, you’re not the only one nervous about this”

“I’m not nervous, I’m excited I’ve been planning this all summer”

“Sure Aphmau” Sylvanna started to leave the room “I’ll be be downstairs making breakfast”

“Ok got it” Aphmau got up and closed the door behind her mom and started to get ready, as she was getting dressed she started to think about going the high school and started to get nervous “Ok… ok everything will be ok, I have everything I need and today will be fine” Aphmau assured herself as she finished getting dressed “I got my bag, I got my pencils and pens, I got copes. Ok I got everything”

Aphmau walked down the stairs as she tried not to think about high school or if she doesn’t make any friends and ends up lonely for all of her high school years or the fact she hasn’t had a in person friend for in like a year. No she tried not to think about it

“I’m ready” Aphmau said as she walked up to her mom who was in the kitchen

“I made some some pancakes for you big first day”

“I’m not hungry right now, I’d rather just go the school”

“You sure” Sylvanna asked as she leaned on the kitchen counter

“I’m sure” Aphmau answered

“Ok I’ll go, I just need to get my keys and then we’ll be on our way”

“Ok bye Aphmau, have a good day and if anyone gives you any trouble tell me” Sylvanna waved out the car window

“Ok mom I will, bye” Aphmau started to walk away from the the car and up the stairs to the school but was she was walking she someone pushed into to her “hey watch where you going” the guy just looked at her annoyed and walked away
“God what a jerk” aphmau sighed

“Well I guess I should start to go to my first class” Aphmau continued walking and looking around the place and all the students around. “Why is nobody going inside” Aphmau asked herself

“That’s because the doors are locked” a girl answered “they always lock them on the first day, so I’m assuming you’re a freshman”

Aphmau jumped a little but then turned around to face the girl “yeah I’m a freshman”

“You’re pretty jumpy” the girl said “but like seriously you’re shaking like a lot”

“Sorry it’s just first day nerves or I guess that what my mom said” Aphmau started to fidget with her hands “I’ve haven’t been in a school in like a year”

“Whoa have you been like really sick or something” the girl sounded pretty surprised

“no I was just homeschooled”

“Oh.. but cheer up and don’t worry you’ll get the hang of everything soon and oh by the way my names Teony”

A teacher ran up before Aphmau could even introduce herself “TEONY. Ms peacock needs you”

“Really but school hasn’t even started”

“Yeah I know, but she said something about missing papers”

“Ok I’m on it” Teony turned back to Aphmau “I’m a teacher aid, sorry but I got to go” Teony then ran off without a word

Aphmau was left standing there. She started looking around and realised everyone else was In a group. Aphmau didn’t want walk out to a group I mean she was already nervous enough but she didn’t want to be the only one alone. Aphmau started worrying more and more until “ah sorry didn’t mean to run into you, are you ok?”

“Omg I’m sorry” aphmau held on to the guy trying to get herself up. They ended up staying like that for a few seconds before Aphmau quickly moved back.

“It’s fine I ran into you if anything I should apologise” the blonde guy said “I’m going to go now”

“Ok” Aphmau replied. Then she thought “oh god did I sound weird, I mean I was holding on to him” before Aphmau could think anymore a new girl came up to her with two different girls following behind. the girl had pink hair and light blue eyes “HEY! you freshman, I saw you all over him playing that innocent freshman act”

“Me? I didn’t do-“

“Look I don’t have time to deal with you, so just so you know Garroth ro’maeve is off limit so stay away him him or else”
The girl walked away with her friends following her. “god who does she think she is but I might just stay away from that guy, I really don’t want trouble on the first day” Aphmau thought to herself.

The bell started ringing and everyone started to head inside “well that wad quick I guess I should follow the crowd” Aphmau hurriedly inside to find where to go

After Aphmau got into the school she decided to find a teacher and ask where to go “um excuse me”

A teacher turns around to look at Aphmau “oh hi are you new here”

“Um yes everyone in this part of the school is new” aphmau said nervously as she looked around the place

“Oh yes sometimes I forget, I been at this school for so long” the teacher cleared his throat “so what can I help you with”

“I’m not sure where to go”

“Oh do you have any friends you could follow” teacher asked. Aphmau shakes her head “oh um ok.. I tell you everything you need to know” the teacher then started to talk about orientation day and how the school works. “You’ll have classes mixed among the different years except for home room which is where you need to go. So get your school timetable and be on your way”

“Um ok.. I got it”

“Good”

“Oh No I don’t what to do! I got my timetable but I don’t know where to get and the bell went ten minutes ago” aphmau mumbled as she sat in front of a locker “oh god I’m going to be so late”

“Are you ok”

“No I’m not, I’m lost in the halls and I’m late and I just don’t know what to do”

“You’re a freshman right?”

“Yeah I am” aphmau tried to sound like she was crying as she talked

“If you’re a freshman you should of got school packet on the mail, everyone who goes to a local middle school should of got one”

“I- I was homeschooled”

“Oh well here let me see you your timetable and I’ll help you”

“Sure here it is” Aphmau handed the timetable to guy and he started reading “oh you class is close, I’ll walk you there”
Aphmau and the guy started walking to the class “here’s your class”

“Thank you so much, I hope I didn’t make you late”

“Don’t worry about I’m actually setting up a social club for freshman but I should start going to that now, bye”

“Bye” aphmau then turn around to go into the classroom and hope she won’t get in trouble for late

Aphmau opens the door the and walks inside the classroom, there was a bunch of students sitting everywhere and posers on walls “oh are you supposed to be in here” the teacher that must be Aphmau homeroom teacher asked. “Um yes I couldn’t find the classroom”

“Because it’s the first day I will allow it but don’t make a habit of it and go find a seat”

“Yes sir” Aphmau quickly looked around the room the find a seat. The only seat left was next to a white haired boy so Aphmau moved over there and sat down “ok I just need to finish taking the role and then I’ll give you sometime to talk to your classmates” the teacher then continued calling out names until he got to the last one “Zane Ro’Meave”

“Here…” a guy in the back said with high pitched voice that sounded like he was trying to make it deeper. He had black hair and mask covering most of his face.

“Are you related to-“

“Yes”

“Hey isn’t that the last of the guy that ran into me could they be related, they don’t really look similar” Aphmau thought to herself. The teacher was now done talking and the class started to fill with chatting
“Maybe I should try to talk to someone”
Aphmau turned to person next to her. He had white hair and bright green eyes. The guy looked to be the same height as Aphmau
“Hi my name’s Aphmau I’m a freshman like you but I guess you already know that”

“Hey my name’s travis”

“Oh nice I like your name”

“Really.. I like your name too” travis stuttered out nervously

“Are… you ok?”

“Yeah I guess I’m just nervous and your the first person I’ve talked to today”

“Really I’m also pretty nervous”

“Oh you seem pretty confident to me”

“Well I’m not really that confident, honestly you’re the first person I’ve talked to today where I’ve started the conversation”

“I mean I haven’t even talked to a single person besides you” Travis stopped for for second like he got an idea “hey do you want to be friends”

“Oh.. sure yeah” aphmau seemed a bit surprised “wait what do friends do”

“Honestly I don’t know I just didn’t want to be alone on the first day of school”

“So we’re kinda like not alone buddies”

“Yeah not alone buddies”

“Ok class let’s pack up our stuff so we can head to meet all the clubs and some of the upperclassmen” everyone started packing up their stuff and following the teacher outside the classroom

Aphmau and Travis were following the teacher to the gym where all the club would. As they walked they tried to make some conversation “so you were homeschooled, what was that like?”

“Kinda lonely, honestly a bit of me regrets it” Aphmau confessed as she thought about how homeschooling really made her lose most of her social skills

“That makes sense, so do you have no friends?”

“Well I have this online friend that I talk to like everyday but what about you?”

“I got one friend at this school but he’s a sophomore and really cool” Travis then started taking about his friend and how he talking with two girls at once but then the girls found out about each other.

“That doesn’t sound that cool to me, he just sounds like a player”

“I guess but you should meet him sometime”

The group then stopped walking as they were outside the gym “Ok class it’s time for our class to go in, even though everyone are freshmen I still want you all on your best behaviour” the teacher opened the the door and everyone went in

“Let’s stay together”

“Yeah strength in numbers” Aphmau and Travis started loving around there was big poster welcoming all the freshman and a bunch of different stands with different clubs and sorts

“Hey Travis look they have anime club, I didn’t think they have anything like that” Aphmau pointed at one of the stand

“Oh so your a nerd” Travis laughed “I’m just joking I’m also in to anime-“ Travis then got hit with a ball and fell down. Aphmau bent to try help him up “omg Travis are you ok!”

A tall blue haired girl came over and picked up the ball laughing “ha nice catch”

“HEY it’s not funny”

“Come on it’s a little funny”

“Katelyn don’t mess with the freshmen and stop laughing at that dude” a guy said as he walked over. It was the same guy that helped Aphmau find her class earlier

“Come on I’m just giving them tough love” Katelyn said as she messed with the ball in her hands

“You know Katelyn not everyone is as strong as you and Laurence you should take that guy to the nurse” Garroth said walking up to the group

“Yeah I’m on it” Laurence started helping Travis off the ground and walked away with him

“Ah there Prince Charming coming over the help” Katelyn mocked

“Katelyn really don’t you have a stand to ran” Garroth fired back

“Oh shit yeah” Katelyn turned to Aphmau “hey sorry about your friend if you need any help stop by the volleyball club”

“I’d rather not but thanks” aphmau said as Katelyn nodded and then ran off

“Hey are ok?” Garroth asked Aphmau as if he just remembered she was there

Aphmau laughed nervously “I’m fine really” garroth walked off after that. “I should try to stay away from him I don’t want any trouble with that girl” Aphmau thought as she looked around ensure what to do. Aphmau wan to go look for Travis but she didn’t even know where the nurse’s office was.

“Hey Aphmau” aphmau turned around to see Travis right there

“Travis that was quick” Aphmau thought that it haven’t even been five minutes

“Oh yeah the nurse said I was fine just to be careful and put some ice on when I go home” Travis rubbed his head “but I wanted to go see the acting club”

“Oh really! You’re into acting” aphmau asked

“Yeah I’ve never been in play or musical but I decided high school seems like the time to start” Travis looked around trying to find the club as he talked “wait I think that it”

“You should go sign up, I’m sure you’d be great”

“Yeah I will but it might take a bit will you be ok on your own”

“Yeah I’ll be fine” Travis left and Aphmau was left standing there not really knowing what to do. She started walking around maybe one of the clubs would interest her, her mom did say she should start going out more. Aphmau then got a notification and took out her phone

FC: hey how’s your first day of high school

Shu: well I’ve haven’t died yet
But I’m pretty nervous
How your day going

FC: boring
But you shouldn’t be nervous high
school is really is nothing

Shu: yeah but I did make a friend

FC: wow I’m so surprised

Shu: shut up
Got to go

“Hey you know you shouldn’t be using your phone during school but I’ll let you off this” Teony as she walked up to Aphmau

“Oh um I- l was just about to put it away” aphmau stutter not expecting someone to say anything about her phone.

“Ha don’t worry it’s just the first after all” Teony laughed “but you’re still pretty jumpy”

“Um yeah I guess”

“Hey I never got you name”

“Oh it’s Aphmau”

“Aphmau, that a pretty unique name”

“Yeah”

“Hey what club have you been talking to?”

“Oh um not many”

“You should try to talk to more” Teony said
“Oh and I saw what happened with Katelyn. You should still give the volleyball team a try if you were thinking about it, trust me Katelyn is a lot nicer when you get to know her”

“I’ll think about it-“ before Aphmau could finish her sentence the bell started ringing “oh there’s the bell”

“All freshman students please make your way out of the gym and find you next class, if anyone needs help come back here”

“Ok this is the latest class of the day and I got-“ Aphmau stop to read her timetable “wait what- I got werewolf class 101, I’m not a werewolf” aphmau thought to herself. Aphmau decided she just go to the class and talk with her mom about it when she got home.

Aphmau walked into the classroom there was lot of werewolves all around just sitting down except for one guy.
“You need to get out of my seat” said the guy standing up

“It’s not you seat and I don’t see you name on it”

“What going on” Aphmau mumbled to herself

“Some guy decided to sit in balto’s seat, I think he going to get Beat up” some guy whispered to Aphmau

Balto then want to hit the guy but missed and guy grabbed him and threw him at the window in the classroom and almost broke it

“Looks like this going to be a great year” the teacher mumbled sarcastically as he walked into the classroom”

“Balto go to the nurse and everyone else find a seat without getting into a fight, I know you’re all werewolves but I don’t want anybody getting hurt in the class”

Aphmau looked for a seat but the only one that was empty was the next to the guy that threw someone. She nervously walked over and seat down. The teacher hadn’t started talking yet and everyone else was talking so Aphmau decided to try and make conversation. “ hi.. my names Aphmau, I’m a freshman

“Aaron, sophomore”

It was the second the day of high school and Aphmau was home eating some breakfast before she left “mom I should start leaving before I’m late” Aphmau said as she put her plate in the sink.

“Bye sweetie, have a good day”

“Bye mom” Aphmau picked up her backpack and walked out the front door. She started to make her way to school but was stopped by three girls on the sidewalk. “Well look who it is” Aphmau recalled her as the girl that was mean to her yesterday.

“Um what do you want?” Aphmau said nervously not liking where this was going

“I just want to talk to the freshmen that was overall my man yesterday”

“Oh… are you two dating?”

“Yes!… he just doesn’t know it yet”

Aphmau want to say something about that but decided it was better not to “well I’ll be sure to stay away from him”

“Good”

“Well ivy it’s not like you have anything to worry about, she looks like a potato” the girl with black hair and blue eyes next to ivy said with with a laugh

“Well potatoes are delicious” aphmau said wanting to defend herself but all the girls just started laughing

“Come on let’s go” ivy said as she laughed and walked away with her friends

Aphmau just stood there not really knowing what to do but then she started walking away “god I hope nothing else happens” aphmau thinks as continues walking. “Maybe I should tell FC about this. Just to me feel better”

Shu: dude Guess what
Some girl and her friends tried to bully
Me

FC: did you defend yourself

Shu: well I tried to but then they said I
looked like a potato

FC: do you

Shu: do I what

FC: do you look like potato

Shu: No!!!
Wait I’m at school got to go but
thanks for making me feel better.
I don’t even know why it bothered me

Aphmau put her phone away before she got a reply and walked up the steps of the school to go to her first class of the day.
When Aphmau got to her homeroom she noticed Travis wasn’t there so Aphmau just moved to sit down and quietly worry.
“Oh god oh god, what if Travis isn’t in school today who will I talk to-“ but be Aphmau could think any longer, Travis appeared

Travis moved to sit down next to Aphmau “hey Aphmau, sorry I’m late are we doing anything”

seeing Travis made Aphmau feel relieved “no I think the teacher is giving us a free class”

“Great, we didn’t see each other yesterday after the whole club thing yesterday so how was your day” Travis asked as he leaned on his arm waiting for a answer

“Well not much happened yesterday except for the last class which was werewolf class”

“Wait..you’re werewolf!!” Travis said in shock

“No but I’ll get to that. Ok so I walk in to werewolf right and then boom a guy gets thrown into the window” Aphmau makes hand gestures as she talks

“Wow did the guy who threw him get in trouble” Travis asked very shocked after hearing this

“No the teacher acted like it was normal”

“Well maybe it is for werewolves but anyway why are you in the class if you not a werewolf”

“I thought it was a mistake at first” Aphmau said “but then when I went to to talk about it with my mom she said she put me that class” Travis nodded along “and then I asked why and she said something about learning about different cultures but she sounded nervous so it was really weird”

“Yeah that is kinda weird but maybe you’ll do good in that class” Travis said trying to seem positive. Him and Aphmau continued talking for the rest of the class about yesterday and their class until “hey class is about to be over what do you have now ?”

“Oh I got English and then I got… WCFT whatever that is”

“Oh I got French and that class is witchcraft class” Travis said “I’m also in that class but I don’t got it now so we’re probably in different classes“ then the bell rang and Aphmau and Travis went to their classes

Aphmau walked into her English class, the class itself had nothing noteworthy about it but it was nice. It was lots English posters and tables made into groups of four. Aphmau didn’t know where to sit until
“Hey you’re Aphmau right?”

Aphmau walked over to who called her she was pretty sure his name was Laurence “hey do you want to sit with us” Laurence gestures to himself and his friend. Aphmau noticed it was garroth but was to awkward to said no. “Um.. sure”

“So Aphmau how was your friend yesterday?” Garroth asked

“Well from what I heard he recovered fast” Laurence jumped in to answer

“Yeah he was um fine” Aphmau said as she pulled her things out of her bag

“That’s good, Katelyn can be really strong, I remember back in freshman year when during p.e Laurence got hit with a ball by Katelyn and was out for two days” Garrotte started laughing as he was saying his story and Aphmau couldn’t help but laughing to

“Oh shut up Garroth I’d like to see you take a hit to the head with a ball by Katelyn” Laurence then turned to Aphmau “so Aphmau to you maybe want to hang out-“

The teacher then walked into the room cutting Laurence off mid sentence “ok class sorry I’m late, today we will be writing some short stories so I can see how you guys write and what you need to work on. We will be reading the story’s tomorrow”

“I hate reading to the class” Laurence whispered to Aphmau. The rest of the class went on and nothing really happened

“Hey Aphmau we’ll see you around sometime” Garroth said as he got up to go to his next class

“Yeah” Aphmau replied as she left the classroom “I probably shouldn’t be hanging around with Garroth and Laurence after what Ivy said but they seem nice” aphmau thought as she found her next class room. She walked right into the room and- “are you even supposed to be in this class” a girl with Orange hair said

“Well that’s what my Timetable says so until I can change it I’m stuck here” Katelyn yelled back

“You don’t have to yell at me” she yelled at her

“I’ll yell at you all I want”

Aphmau walked over to them “um why are we the only ones in this class?” Aphmau asked. They both turned to look at her like they didn’t even know she was there.

“Hey you’re that freshman from yesterday?” Katelyn said as she looked at Aphmau “this is perfect” she whispered to herself. Katelyn turned back to the girl “this girl here is my new best friend”

“WHAT” aphmau stuttered. As this was happening Aphmau noticed a few more people coming into the class.

“Oh really”

“Yeah really”

“Wait No you hit my friend with a ball yesterday and I don’t even-“

“Haha isn’t she so funny Lucinda” Katelyn said as she faked a laugh

“If she really your best friend what’s her name” Lucinda asked with smirk on her face

“It’s… um Alina” Katelyn laughed nervously

“Actually it’s Aphmau”

“Well that’s still one friend for me and how many for you?”

“That does not count. Hey do you want to be my friend instead of Katelyn?”

“I really don’t get why you guys are fighting over me”

“Don’t listen to her, I’ll buy you lunch at the cafeteria”

“I’ll give you spells that-“ suddenly the teacher threw a potion at them turning them into cats. Both Cats sat of different table meowing Furiously “god those girls are always fighting”

“Are they ok” aphmau asked

“Yes they’re fine. The potion only lasts for twenty minutes” the teacher then turned to Aphmau “you must be new, I’m ms Hyria”

“Yes I am. Isn’t turning students into cats against the rules”

“It’s fine dear, Lucinda is my daughter”

“..ok..”

It was the class of the day PE. Aphmau always hated PE and was not looking forward to this class until she saw someone she recognised.

“Travis?”

“Oh hey Aphmau, guess we’re in the same PE class”

“Oh yeah”

“Hey why aren’t you dress for PE?” Travis asked see that she was holding her PE uniform in her hands

“Um where do we get changed” aphmau looked around

“In the locker rooms”

“Like all together” aphmau face started getting pale”

Travis missing Aphmau worry replies “yeah well there’s one for the boys and one for girls”

“WHAT, I don’t want to get dressed in front of others”

“Aphmau calm down. Why don’t you just get dressed in the bathrooms” Travis offered instead trying to calm her.

“Is that was you do?”

“No but I used to do it in middle school. Hey think positive this the first class where we are together”

“I mean… you are right”

“Hey Travis didn’t know you already had a girlfriend” a dark blue haired boy walked up to Travis and Aphmau

“Dante we’re not dating, don’t make things awkward” Travis said clearly embarrassed

“Come on you know I’m just joking, anyways I’m Dante”

“Wait are you the guy who dated two girls at a time” aphmau asked remembering what Travis told her yesterday.

“Why would you tell her that”

“I wanted too” Travis looks around not really having an answer

“It’s un nice to meet you Dante”

“Oh by the way thanks for being friends with Travis, it’s nice to see him talk to other people”

“Dante!! Aphmau shouldn’t you be getting changed”

“Oh yeah… i got go bye guys” Aphmau walked towards the bathroom with a bad feeling and was going to go get changed but was stop. “Well who do we have here” Ivy said as she and her friends gathered around Aphmau.

“What’s this potato’s name again” Ivy laughed

“I think its Aphmau” her friend replied in a mocking tone

“Hey don’t call me that”

“Why? Do you not like it just like I don’t like to see you around my garroth. I saw you guys sitting together earlier today and I don’t want you trying anything with him”

“I wasn’t trying anything with him but even if I was it’s not like you’re even dating him” aphmau said getting more mad at the nickname and how Ivy was treating her. Ivy then pushed her and she on the floor hitting her head pretty bad. Aphmau was somewhat able to get up and as she did she pushed Ivy back. Ivy hit her head over the wall and started bleeding.

“WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE!!!” The PE teacher yelled as she walked in after hearing a bang. Ivy then started fake crying

“I- I was trying to… help this freshman b-but then s-she pushed me and started trying to fight” Ivy cried

“YOU GO TO THE PRINCIPALS OFFICE NOW” the teacher yelled as she pointed at Aphmau. “Yes miss” aphmau picked up her bag and uniform but as she did she could see a small smile appear on ivy face

Aphmau waited outside the principals office. There was a few seats and sign on the door talking about good behaviour. Principle had already called her mom and Aphmau was completely panicked.

“Aphmau?” Aphmau looked up to see Laurence standing there.

“Oh hey Laurence” aphmau stuttered not expecting to him at outside the principals office.

“What are you doing here it’s only the second day of school you couldn’t of gotten in trouble so soon”

“I kinda got in a fight with a girl named Ivy, I guess but- but it wasn’t my fault”

“Oh Ivy? Yeah I stay away from her. She literally tries to bully most of the girls in school but never gets in trouble for it”

“I’m about to get in trouble for it but anyways what are you doing here?”

“I was just delivering some paperwork to the office but I was wondering could I have your phone number”

“Oh um sure” aphmau was surprised at that but took out paper from her bag and wrote her number on it. “Here” Laurence took it and left. Aphmau about five minutes for her mom to get there.

“APHMAU what is this I hear about you getting into a fight” Aphmau’s mom looked like she was going to pop a vein as she marched into the room. Aphmau quickly stood up “mom it wasn’t my fault t-this girl and her friends tried to fight me and then I got blamed!”

“Aphmau are you telling the truth because god help me if you-“

“Yes I am”

“Ok I believe you” Aphmau mom didn’t think this was something she would do so she decided to believe and go in to the principal and defend Aphmau. They was lots yelling but Aphmau ended up with thirty minutes detention for the rest of the week.

“Come on Aphmau, let’s go”

It was the end of Friday and all the students were heading away. Aphmau first week of school was done and so was her detention. Aphmau and Travis walked out together “so Aphmau you usually walk home right?”

“Um yeah, why?”

“My dad is going to pick me up today so I was wondering if you wanted a ride home”

“No thanks. My mom is actually going to pick me up today”

“Ah well you got my number so we can text over the weekend-“

“Aphmau get over here” aphmau’s mom yelled from her car. Aphmau walked over the car and Travis walked nearby. “Hey is that a boy” aphmau’s mom questioned as she saw Travis. Aphmau got in to the car and tried to say something to her mom but was interrupted “hey you” she called

Travis walked over to the window “um.. hello”

“Hey I don’t want you to get any ideas about my daughter, if you marry into this family remember you’re going to have to deal with me” aphmau’s mom threatened Travis. Aphmau sat in back and covered her face with her hands in an embarrassment.

“Um don’t worry miss.. I’m just aphmau friend and that’s all” Travis stuttered out nervously

“Is that the case”

“Yes” aphmau’s mom was content with that and ended up driving away “sometimes you can be so embarrassing” aphmau mumbled. Sylvanna was disappointed at that. In her mind she was only trying to protect her.

It was now late Saturday morning and Aphmau was chilling on her bed on her laptop when all of sudden she got a text from someone.

Laurence: hey aphmau

Aphmau: oh hey Laurence

Laurence: I was wondering if you’re free to hang out today

Aphmau didn’t know how to respond. For some reason she felt pretty nervous about it but she thought to herself what’s the worst that could happen.

Aphmau: ok

Laurence: great we could chill at the park by your house

Aphmau: how do you know there’s a park by house

Laurence: when you first had detention we walked home together

Aphmau: oh yeah I forgot
Anyways I’m good with that
See you later

Laurence: see you later

After a while aphmau got out of her bed and put her laptop away. She made her way downstairs to ask her mom about going out. She went to her front room “hey mom can I go to hang out at the park with a friend?”

“A boyfriend?” Sylvanna asked

“No it’s a friend… that’s a boy” aphmau tried to sound convincing even though what she was saying was true.

“Fine but you have tell me everything that happened”

“Of course mom, you can trust me”

“I know I just don’t trust others”

Aphmau ended the conversation and went upstairs to get dressed. She decided to wear a denim shorts and a red over the shoulder top. Aphmau grabbed her phone and headed to the park. It was a short walk to park and as she got there she could Laurence standing by one of the gates. He was wearing a green and black shirt with a dark denim jeans.

“Hey aphmau” Laurence walked over to her with a smile on his face.

“Hey Laurence” aphmau said nervously as she looked around “it’s been a while since I’ve been to this park”

“Really? But you live pretty close”

“Well me and me actually just moved back to this town. We used to live here when I was little” aphmau blushed feeling like she’d been taking too long.

Laurence noticed this pretty quickly and tried to move the conversation a long “so do want to start walking around”

“Oh um sure”

“So do you have any friends from back when you lived here or are you taking the weekend off from them to see me?” Laurence question as he looked around at the sunny weather.

Aphmau laughed “well I actually didn’t think you would reach out to me so I wouldn’t have sat around waiting”

“Well that’s refreshing to know”

“But um about childhood friends, I did have some but I was to little to remember them”

“Well then I’ll just have to your friend” Laurence smiled at Aphmau but she didn’t see. “Well I want to try to get to know you more and I want you to know me better too”

Aphmau now started looking at him again “What do you mean”

“I well what I’m trying to say is I’m really interested-“ before Laurence could finished he was cut off by

“Well it’s good to see you around this park again Laurence” a guy with black hair with grey streaks said as leaned against a tree. He was tall with dark blue eyes.

Laurence sighed before taking “what do you gene” Laurence sounded pretty annoyed

“Wow Laurence can’t an old friend say hi” gene started walking towards Laurence and Aphmau

“Yeah Laurence can’t we say hi or are you too good for us now” said a girl with white hair and purple eyes sitting with a different boy by the tree gene was just by.

“You’re so rude” the other guy with brown hair said.

“Who are they” aphmau whispered to Laurence

“Oh wow and you haven’t even introduced her to use yet” gene had a mocking tone to his voice as he spoke

“I’d rather not introduce her to you guys at all”

“Oh come on Laurence don’t be a loser”

“I’m not a loser”

“Well since you left the shadow knights you kinda are” gene walk right up to Aphmau “since he won’t introduce us, I’ll do it myself”

“Don’t do it” Laurence tried to say but Gene just talked over him.

“As you probably guessed I’m Gene the leader of the shadow knights. My two friends over there are Sasha and Zenix”

“The shadow knights?” Aphmau question

“it’s our group, feel free to stop by anytime”

“I’ll think about it” aphmau grabbed Laurence arm and walked away before anyone could say anything

“I really think you shouldn’t become friends with them. They bad news”

“I won’t, I just said that I’ll think about it to get away from them” aphmau said as they continued walking through the park

Aphmau and Laurence walked around the park and chatted for a while until they started to walk over a bridge and saw someone they know.

“Hey guys”

“Oh hey Garroth Laurence said as he walked up to him with aphmau following.

“Oh I didn’t know she would be here”

“Well I invited you first but I knew you take away long time so I also invited aphmau” Laurence said. Aphmau now feeling nervous about the situation wasn’t paying attention to whatever they were saying something about being alone with someone.

“Well I’m glad you came Aphmau” Garroth smiled towards her “I’ve actually been wanting to spend some time with you”

“Oh um nice… anyways do you guys want to find somewhere to sit”

They all walked around until aphmau said she wanted to sit on the swings by the gate to the park. Aphmau sat on the middle swing with Garroth and Laurence on each side of her. They all started chatting for a while before Laurence asked aphmau something. “Hey Aphmau would you consider being in a relationship”

Garroth mumbled something but aphmau couldn’t hear what.

“Oh um n-no I don’t I think my mom would let me” aphmau said nervously as she swung on the swing. Aphmau’s mom then pulled up outside the park gate and call out to her.

“APHMAU I’M GOING TO THE STORE AND I WAS WONDERING-wait is ARE YOU HANGING OUT WITH TWO BOYS” aphmau’s mom yelled from the car.

“I thought you trusted me” aphmau called back to her mom

“I DO THAT’S WHY I’M STILL IN THE CAR”

Aphmau put her head in her hands in embarrassment “I’m so sorry guys” she said to garrotte and Laurence. “I’m so embarrassed”

“Don’t worry about it, we get it my dads is like that with my sister” Laurence said

“But your mom is kinda scary” Garroth added

“Yeah.. I’ma going to go” Aphmau walked up to her car and got in the front seat.

“How many boy do you know, should I be worried”

“Mom just drive please”

“Fine fine but that one boy with the blonde hair do we know him. He just looks so familiar”

“Mom just drive you’re in embarrassing me” aphmau looked out the window. Sylvanna started driving.

“You do know it’s my job to embarrass you right?”

“Mom really” aphmau looked right at her

“I’m kidding but if you think I really did make a scene today then I’m sorry. I just wanted to to protect you”

“I know.. I know”

It was the second week of school and Aphmau was right outside her house. She had a while before she had to leave but she wanted to try and catch Laurence on his way to school. She going to leave now thinking that waiting for him was stupid but then she got a text which stopped her.

FC: morning Shu

Shu: morning FC
It’s not like you to text in the morning

FC: yeah I guess
I wanted to tell I had fun this weekend

Shu: during the dungeon?
But of course you had fun I had to heal you all the way through it

FC: yeah but I did tank the whole thing

Shu: ok fine we even

FC: i wanted to ask you something
Do you like being friends with me

Aphmau was surprised by this. I mean why was he asking that.

Shu: why

FC: Idk I just like kinda bad right now

Shu: look we’re been friends for like two years
Of course I like being friends with you
I mean you just really easy to talk to and you’re funny

FC: thanks

Aphmau smiled at her phone not noticing Laurence walking up to to her. “Hey beautiful, what you smiling at”

Aphmau looked pretty surprised “L-Laurence beautiful w-what”

Laurence laughed “why thank you”

“No that’s not what I meant” aphmau started to panic and her face went red

“Oh really” Laurence said just wanting to mess with aphmau

“I-I you know that’s that not I mean cause I mean you like because” aphmau continued talking but none of it Laurence could actually understand. They both started walking but neither said anything about it.

“Aphmau calm down. I’m joking”

“Why are you twisting my words and trying to make me embarrassed” aphmau looked right at him

“Because it’s cute and kinda funny how you overreacted” Laurence laughed a little at the end.

“Are my emotions funny to you” aphmau was upset at the thought of him just playing with her emotions.

“Kinda” Laurence was trying to joke with aphmau hoping she wouldn’t take it

The conversation didn’t really go any further but Aphmau and Laurence did ended up walking together. They got to the outside of school and sat by fountain still having a few minutes before school would start. All of sudden Garroth appeared in front of them

“Hey guys” Garroth said

“Morning Garroth ”

“M-morning” aphmau stuttered out

“How was your guys weekend” Garroth ask as he sat down next to them

“Except going to the park with you guys I really did nothing” Laurence answered

“I mean I had a good weekend but I guess I was just glad not to be in school” after aphmau said that the school bell started ringing and everyone went inside.

“So what is your first class”

“Well firstly I got to go to my homeroom but after that have art which is nice”

“Oh me and Laurence also have art. We probably in the same class, we should all sit together” Garroth said.

They finish their conversation and all headed to their own class. Aphmau had a pretty normal class. She ended up taking to Travis and helping him with homework he forgot to do over the weekend, for most of the class. After aphmau left to go to art class. She felt pretty nervous for the class though, with Garroth and Laurence very obviously flirting with her.

And with what happened with Ivy she still feels nervous but aphmau decided to ignore Ivy and that she probably won’t try to do anything else. Aphmau walked into the classroom, it was a bit different from all the other ones. This class had lots of art all over the walls and a bunch sculptures made of clay by the window.

Aphmau saw Garroth and Laurence and went to sit with them. The teacher then started talking “ok class today I’m going to give you all some paper and pencils” the teacher then went around handing out the supplies. “I want you all to draw whatever you like and at the end of class we can show them off. Now I don’t mind you guys talking as long as you get some kinda drawing done”

Everyone in the class started drawing and chatting with their friends. “I’m glad we can draw whatever we like this class, I love art” aphmau said

“Really. Do you draw often” Laurence asks

“Yeah I guess.. but I’m not the best”

“Don’t say that. I’m sure you at least better than me. I’m shit at art” Garroth rubbed out something on his page “maybe you could teach me sometime”

“Maybe.. so did you join art to get better then?” Aphmau asked moving away from the topic of her teaching him. She didn’t think she would be that good at teaching anything.

“No he joined for me” Laurence smiled and looked at Aphmau with his green eyes and then back at Garroth “and your not bad, that ashtray you made last year was pretty good” he smirked

“Oh come on you know that was supposed to be a vase” in both Laurence and Aphmau laughed at that.

“So Laurence why did you join art, do you like it” aphmau continued to sketch characters she liked on to her page.

“Well art is fine but I joined because my sister is really artistic and told me that I won’t be her brother if I don’t do an art class” Laurence sketch on his page but it didn’t really look like he knew what he was doing “anyways it’s not like she can decide that the adoption papers and our dads already did”

Garroth laughed at that “sometimes I forget you’re adopted”

“HEY.. anyways aphmau how you been with you know high school and stuff”

“Well I’m not getting lost anymore and I’m done with this drawing” aphmau laughed as she drew some final details on the drawing.

“Oh were you getting lost?” Garroth asked as he looked down at the messy and unfinished drawing on his page.

“Well yeah…That’s how me and Laurence actually met as he helped me find my homeroom on the first day”

“I bet you would have liked someone to have helped you Garroth last year”

“What?” Aphmau was confused. She was definitely missing some context. Garroth noticed this.

“In freshman year I went to the wrong homeroom for a week” garroth explained. The conversation moved on to what they drew and Laurence being on the football team until the teacher started to speak again. “Ok everyone would anybody like to come up and explain their drawing”

Aphmau went on with the rest of her day, She had a few more classes before lunch. During lunch she ended up sitting with Teony, Lucinda and Katelyn. Now it was the last class of the day and it was werewolf class. Aphmau walked through the door and hope it would be a normal class.

As aphmau sat down she had a thought. For the past week she been sitting next to Aaron and even had detention with him. But except for the first day she really hasn’t talked to him at all.

“H-hey.. um so I haven’t seen you hang around with anybody um so if you wanted you could hang out with me and my friends”

“Just leave me alone” Aaron looked at her angrily

“W-what” aphmau was surprised. In her head she was just trying to be nice did she say something offensive.

“Look just leave me alone, unlike you some people like being alone”

“I was just trying to be nice”

“Well stop. I don’t want to be your friend”

“Well at least I have friends” aphmau mumbled not really meaning for Aaron to hear.

“If I wanted friends I could get some” Aaron said back not really knowing why he was so bothered by her comment

“Not with that attitude and the fact nobody can even talk to you without you getting mad”

The teacher then started talking. Today’s class was about werewolf urban legends like the ultima werewolf or whatever that is. Aphmau wasn’t really paying attention, still annoyed at Aaron

It was still the second week of high school and Aphmau was in her first class of the day talking with Travis. “Ok everyone we have new student joining the class” the teacher said getting everyone’s attention. Besides the teacher was a short boy with brown hair and green eyes, he then started talking “hi everyone I’m Vylad Ro’Meave”
Ro’Meave? could he be related to garrott aphmau thought. Aphmau might ask later.

The teacher told Vylad to sit down somewhere. Vylad walked over to Zane obviously wanting to sit with him but Zane blocked the seat with his bag. Aphmau saw this and decided to invite Vylad to sit with her and Travis. “Hey I’m Aphmau do you want to sit with us” aphmau pointed to Travis as she said the last bit.

“Sure” Vylad smiled at her and sat in the seat in front of them and turned his seat around.

“I’m Travis” Travis introduced himself.

“It’s nice to meet you Travis”

“So Vylad why weren’t you here on the first week?” Aphmau ask

“Oh um I’m actually a year younger and got moved up a grade” Vylad explained “I was supposed to be here last week but some paper work got messed up and stuff” Vylad started to relax and the conversation ended up moving to after school activities. Travis was talking about acting and Aphmau actually learned that Vylad does fencing.

“Yeah I’ve been thinking about signing up for a sport club or something but I just don’t know” aphmau did want to be in club but she wasn’t sure what club.

“If you want to sign up for something maybe you should be in the art club” Travis said “I remember you showing me some drawings and that were really good”

Aphmau did remember that but she didn’t really think her drawings were that good. “Maybe I don’t know” aphmau kinda sighed after she said that. “But Vylad you said you did fencing, how is that?”

“Well it’s fine but my mom made me do it” Vylad moved a little in his seat “she wanted all of my siblings to do a sport”

“I mean at least fencing sounds cool” Travis said “my dad doesn’t really care if I do any after school sports”

“So um what sports do you siblings do?” Aphmau asked

“Well my oldest brother Garroth does baseball, I do fencing and Zane doesn’t have to do one” Vylad gestured at Zane looking a little annoyed “mom says he sensitive, doesn’t want any sports to rough him up which I think is unfair”

Oh so he is Garroth’s brother aphmau thought. The class then ended soon after and so did their conversation. Aphmau now had werewolf class and was on her way over there when she stopped. Aphmau saw Gene as she was turning the corner and was going to walk past him but she ended up hearing his conversation. He and his friends were talking about someone being trouble and getting into fights and how the school couldn’t prove it was him. Weird

Aphmau tried to walk past him but “well look who we have here. It’s the girl that was hanging out with Laurenceat the park” Gene walked up to her.

“C-can you just leave me alone” Aphmau didn’t really want to get involved with them because of what Laurence said.

“Oh did Laurence tell you to stay away from us” Gene smirked mockingly at Aphmau.

“Well I guess-“

“Wow so Laurence is spreading rumours about us” Gene looked back at the shadow knights who were clearly enjoying this. Aphmau then tried to defend Laurence but Gene started to talk over her. “And you’re going to believe him. You know you haven’t even taken the time to get to know us”

“Umm”

Gene walked right up to Aphmau and stood a little too close to her. “It’s kinda rude to judge a book by its cover. Why do you join me and my friends here”

“Gene leave her alone” Teony sounded annoyed as She walked right up to the Gene and Aphmau. She grabbed Aphmau by the shoulder and stood in between her and Gene

“Oh look who it is. Teony why don’t you just leave and try to not to get involved in others business” Gene crossed his arms.

Teony looked at Aphmau “why don’t you just leave and I’ll deal with this” aphmau nodded and started to quickly leave. “Now why don’t you guys to class and stop trying to mess with freshman-“

Aphmau opened the door to the classroom and walked in. “Well it’s nice oh you to join us Aphmau even though you’re late”

“I’m sorry but-“ Aphmau tried to explain but the teacher interrupted her. “Talk to me after class”

“Yes sir..” aphmau walked to her seat in the back and the teacher continued teaching. Aphmau was so annoyed, she didn’t even want to be in this class in the first place. She couldn’t help but think about why her mom even wanted her in this class.

Aphmau ended up taking with the teacher at the end of class. She didn’t get a detention just a warning. The rest of the school was pretty normal and Aphmau just wanted to go home but when she got there her mom told her to get dressed and that they are going somewhere.

Aphmau went up stairs to her room and got dressed. When she came back she noticed her mom was in her outfit that she wore every time she went jogging. Was her mom taking her jogging?

She and her mom walked to the park but aphmau was still confused on why she needed to be here. “Mom why did I need to come with you to the park?”

“Because mija you need to get out of the house sometimes and anyways I’m going jogging with a friend and thought you might want to join” Aphmau sat down on a bench and looked right at her mom “you invited another person?” Aphmau groans. She really didn’t want to hang out with her mom and her friend today.

“Of course I did. I didn’t want to be seen with just my daughter, that’s SO embarrassing” Sylvanna said sarcastically.

“HEY that’s what I’m supposed to say about you” aphmau joked back.

Sylvanna laughed “anyways she also bringing her three sons” Sylvanna moved to the side as the sun was getting in her eyes.

“Ok.. so my options are to go jogging with you and your friend or to babysit sit your friend’s kids” aphmau leaned back on the bench. She didn’t want to either of those things, she really just wanted to go home. But aphmau decided that she’d probably just babysit. it’s not like it’s the first time her mom has gotten her to babysit her friend’s kids.

“Well actually-“ aphmau mom starts say something but is cut off “HEY GIRLFRIEND” a woman walks up to Aphmau and her mom with a excited look on her face. She had black hair and light teal eyes. She was wearing the same outfit as Aphmau mom just in a different colour. “WHATS UP GIRLFRIEND” Aphmau mom replied with the same excitement as the other woman. Aphmau was now very embarrassed.

Aphmau’s mom and the other woman started chatting until the woman turned to Aphmau. “So you must be Aphmau I’m Zianna” Aphmau sits up a bit

“Hi..”

Zianna then looked between Aphmau and her mom walked “god the last time I saw you were only up to here” Zianna hand is a little over her knee. Suddenly three people walked up to them. it was garroth, Zane and Vylad. Aphmau was very surprised.
“So Zianna is their mom” she thought

“Anyways we will be on our way” Aphmau’s mom said as they started jogging away. But then zinnia stopped “Oh and you all be good and Zane try not to be alone the whole time” they then started jogging again and left. Zane looked embarrassed at that and Aphmau honestly could relate to being embarrassed by her mom. Zane then started walking away muttering about not wanting to be in this stupid park.

“Hey Zane where you going?” Garroth turned around to face Zane.

“I’m going to sit under a tree and go on my phone as I try to stay away from you three”

“Nope. You heard mom she doesn’t want you to be alone the whole time” garroth grabbed Zane’s arm and made him stand with the rest of them. “I’m not hanging out with you guys”

“Yes you are” garrotte replied

“No I’m not” Zane sounded more annoyed this time and Aphmau didn’t even think it was possible for him to sound more annoyed than how he usually does.

“Yes you are”

“Why should I?”

“Because if you don’t I’m going to hug you everyday in front of the whole school for the rest of the year” aphmau laughed at that, it was such a stupid thing to say but it did get Zane to agree to hang out with them. “I hate you Garroth” Zane muttered

“So um that do you guys want to do?” Aphmau asked

“Easy, football” Vylad said excitedly. Garroth was about to suggest something else but then Aphmau said “yeah I like football so let’s play that”

“Really have you thought about trying out for the team?”

“Well I’m not that into football and I used to play lot as a kid so I’d probably try something new” aphmau smiled and then remembered something “my mom should have a ball in the car, I’ll go get it” aphmau then went to go get the ball.

Aphmau got back and they found a spot to play. They kicked the ball around the field for a bit. Zane was annoyed but Garroth and Vylad seemed to be happy.

Then Vylad had decided he was going to try and teach Zane. Aphmau and garrotte ended up sitting out and just watching.

“Ok Zane we’re going to start with you as the goalkeeper as I know you really don’t like running”

“I can run”

“Really?” Vylad was a little surprised.

“Yeah run away from you”

Garroth then turned away from watching and towards Aphmau “I hope you’re cool with sitting out and just watching”

“I’m good with just sitting on the grass” aphmau was picking at the grass and flowers. “Anyways it’s nice to see Zane with people, he’s always alone at school”

“Yeah he’s always been that way. He prefers to be alone but I still worry about him” Garroth looked sad as he said that but the sadness soon disappeared as quickly as it came. “You know when my mom brought us to the park I didn’t think we would see you”

Aphmau laughed “yeah I was also pretty surprised to see you”

“I’m really happy to able to spend the day with you” Aphmau started to blush as Garroth moved a little closer but then out of nowhere a ball came flying at Garroth and hit him in the head “SORRY GARROTH” Vylad ran over to them. Vylad pick up the ball and explained that him and Zane were fighting and he wasn’t paying attention and kicked the ball at Garroth.

Garroth was fine but because Zane and Vylad were fighting Zane wouldn’t play football with him anymore. After a while Aphmau decided made a deal with Zane. “Zane why don’t we make a deal?” The deal was that they would play a match and if Zane won he would be left alone for the rest of the day but if Aphmau won he would have to continue playing football with Vylad. “That sounds easy. I should be able to beat a potato” “Hey! Where did you hear that?” Aphmau asked. She had hoped the nickname wouldn’t spread outside of Ivy and her friends. “Just around the place” Zane laughed and it sounded like a super villain but Aphmau was sure that was just his natural laugh.

They played for a while and everything was fine until Aphmau tried to get the ball in the goal and ended up kicking the ball into Zane’s head. Zane ended up with a black eye and they stopped playing so Zane could go and sit down.

Garroth and Vylad walked Zane over to a bench “so Zane I didn’t expect you to block the ball with your face” Garroth tried to joke with him but Zane just looked at him with a upset look.

“I’m so so SO sorry Zane” Aphmau apologised for the third time in the last minute. Even though Zane was a jerk Aphmau still feel so bad about the black eye.

“You probably did it on purpose” Zane muttered but before Aphmau could answer Sylvia and zinnia jogged up to them.

“What happened here!!” Zianna looked at Zane’s face in horror.

“We were playing football and I accidentally hit Zane in the face I-i didn’t mean to” aphmau quickly stuttered out an apology. The horror leaves Zianna face quickly and she just laughs and walked up to Zane to look at his face “I’m sure you’ll be fine if anything I think Garroth has put you through worse”

“Did you apologise to Zane?” Sylvanna asked

“Yes.. more then once” aphmau said the last bit quieter “you better have”

“Oh Sylvanna this reminds me of when they were kids” zinnia the started to talk about how when they were kids the same thing happened.

“What we just met Aphmau today… well outside of school” Vylad sounded very confused at what they were talking about and they just laughed in response.

“When we lived here when you guys were younger, you all used to play together. I can’t believe you don’t remember” all of them were very surprised and before anyone even got the chance to say anything Sylvanna and Zianna started planning a dinner on the weekend to reconnect. So Aphmau guess she’s having dinner with the Ro’meave’s this weekend.

It was early Saturday afternoon and Aphmau and her mom were preparing a taco casserole to bring over for the dinner with the Ro’Meave’s. As they were cooking The topic of Aphmau not remembering them then came up “you know it really is the funniest thing how can’t remember a single thing about them” Aphmau nodded as she continued to mix the salsa for the taco casserole. “You guys were all so close when you guys were kids” Sylvanna smiled as she remembered them as kids.

“Really even Zane? I just… don’t remember them like at all” Aphmau really couldn’t believe that they were that close, she didn’t even remember them.

“I mean I guess you all were so young and because of the move you stop seeing them” Sylvanna sighed with a look of regret on her face. Aphmau wondered why they moved in the first place, her mom seemed so happy to back here she guessed it was probably because of her dad but she remembered more about Garroth, Zane and Vylad then she did him. She decided to change the subject.

“You Know Garroth, Zane and Vylad are all boys. It’s weird that you’re so ok with us hanging out.” Aphmau turned her attention back to salsa as her mom stirred beef in large skillet.

Sylvanna laughed and looked at Aphmau “well it’s different. They are zianna’s boys, they know how to act right so I’m fine with it” Sylvia grabbed something from the counter and mixed it into the beef.

“Yeah… um I’m done with the salsa so I’m gonna take a break” Aphmau passed the pot to her mom and started handing upstairs. “Hey I don’t wanna see you on that game again you been playing that way too much lately”

“Ok mom” Aphmau quickly ran to her room and sat on her bed. Aphmau really didn’t want to go to this dinner especially with Garroth being there. She was still confused about her feelings, she could tell that Garroth and Laurence were in to her but did she like them? She couldn’t like both of them but then again she couldn’t even date them if she wanted to. Then the doorbell started ringing.

“APHMAU CAN YOU GET THAT” her mom called

Aphmau walked down the stairs and went to the front door. When she opened the door she saw Travis standing outside.
“Hey Aphmau! I was in the neighbourhood and wanted to stop by. Is this a good time?”

“Um yeah it’s good. I’ll be going to dinner later but I’m not doing much right now”

Sylvanna walked up to see who was at the door “hey is that boy- oh it’s just your friend Travis” aphmau mom still looked at him with a un trusting look but welcome him inside. “Aphmau I forgot an ingredient so I’m going to the store to get. I need you to make the salsa and get your friend help too”

Aphmau turned to her mom called “but I just did that” Aphmau mom put on her shoes and grabbed her jacket. “I know but it wasn’t hot enough. I want it to be so hot that zinnia can taste the fire of friendship”
Aphmau just didn’t get the chance to say anything before Sylvanna opened the door and turned to Aphmau and Travis. She started to say something in Spanish about how if she came back here and saw Travis and Aphmau- that’s when Aphmau pushed her out the door “ok mom bye”

Aphmau turned to Travis “So do you know how to make salsa?”

“No..”

Aphmau got out the ingredients and her and Travis started making the salsa. Aphmau had to show him what to do so it took longer than usual and by the time they were done Aphmau’s mom was back.
Sylvanna got to the kitchen to continue cooking and Travis and Aphmau went out to the backyard to chill before Aphmau had to leave. They both just sat in grass, travis lied down with his arms holding him up. Aphmau just sat with her legs crossed and looked at Travis “so um.. what’s up?”

“Well not much” Travis shrugged “so um when we were making the salsa you mentioned you’re going to a dinner is it like a family dinner or something?”

“Well you remember Vylad right? Basically our mom’s are friends so going over there for dinner today”

“Really? You guys didn’t seem like you knew each other” Travis shifted on to his other arm “did your mom’s just meet or something?”

“Well we knew each other when we were kids but I was so young I barely remembered him”

“That’s cool, I don’t really have any childhood friends…” Travis and Aphmau didn’t really say anything for the next few minutes. Aphmau could tell he wanted to say something by the way he looked over at her. He sat up a bit and started to talk “um so I kinda heard something from Dante about you”

What! Why would Dante be talking about her she thought “um what was he saying?”

“Well I think he heard Gene talking about you… NOTHING weird but um why would Gene be talking about you?” Travis looked worried. Both of them have heard that Gene is trouble from different people.

“Well I did run into him and his gang but don’t worry I’m not hanging around with him or anything”

“Oh ok. I just wanted to make sure you’re ok and that’s Gene’s not messing with you” Aphmau moved the conversation on to Travis’s act and how he was doing in theatre but she just couldn’t stop thinking about Gene. She didn’t get why he seemed so interested in her, was it because of Laurence Gene mentioned how they used to be friends or did he just like to pick on freshman.

“So you know the girl that hit me with a ball like two weeks ago?”

Aphmau was so lost in her thoughts she was beardy listening to what he was saying “what oh um ..yeah we sometimes hang out because we um got witch class together”

“Well sometimes she visits the theatre and well you know”

Aphmau didn’t get what he was for a second until oh.. oh “omg do like her”

Travis looked away “what No and even if I did it’s not like I do anything about it” aphmau started laughing “really you’re not going to ask her out or anything”

“No way and Dante hasn’t shown me how to ask girls out yet”

“Well I personally don’t think you need Dante’s help and you should just be yourself” Aphmau’s mom walked to the back and called them in saying her and Aphmau had to leave

“would you like me to drop you home?”

“Um sure”

They all got in the car and Sylvanna started driving. They quickly drop off Travis and drove to the Ro’meave’s house. Aphmau was not looking forward to the dinner but they were there so Aphmau and her mom got out of the car and went up to the door. “Sylvanna! It’s so good to see you” Sylvanna handed the taco casserole to Aphmau and went to hug Zianna

“It’s good to see you too! I brought a taco casserole” sylvanna handed it to Zianna.
She thanked Sylvanna and turned to Garroth who was standing next to her. “Why don’t you give Aphmau a tour around the house”

“Got it” both Sylvanna and Zianna went to kitchen “so in there’s the front room and up the hall is the kitchen and back door”
Garroth walked up on to the first step “um this is stairs”

“Wow I’m so surprised I’ve never seen stairs before” aphmau said sarcastically as she followed Garroth up the stairs.

“Ok.. look I’m not good at giving tours”
They were now upstairs and Garroth stop right out a door “this Zane’s room” Garroth went to open the door but Aphmau stopped him

“Hey shouldn’t you knock”

“Nah it’s fine” Garroth opened the door and walked in with Aphmau following behind. The room was dark with black walls and lots of band posters and drawings all over the place. Zane was sitting at desk and turned to look at Garroth “Garroth GET OUT!!! can’t you see I’m in the middle of something” Zane looked to be playing the same online game Aphmau usually plays.

“Are you playing that game again? You know mom doesn’t want you in your room hiding when we have company over. Why don’t you pause it and come downstairs?”

“just get out and tell mom I’ll be down stairs in a minute” Zane turned back to his game and put his headphones on.

“Ok..ok” Garroth and Aphmau walked out of his room and closed the door “sorry about him”

“It’s fine… but know you that you can’t pause that games right?”

“I really wouldn’t know I’m not into gaming as much Zane is.. but let’s go I can show you Vylad room” they walked to the at the end of the hallway and Garroth opened the door. “Hey Vylad”

Vylad was sitting on his bed meditating “Garroth…” Vylad sigh and looked at him “you really got a problem with knocking”

“I don’t have a problem with knocking”

“Then why do you never knock” aphmau laughed as Garroth tried to defend himself. Garroth sigh “ok I’ll try to remember next time”

“It’s fine but Garroth really if you don’t fix this knocking problem you probably be breaking down door when you older”

“Hey I’m not that strong” Vylad just sent him a look “anyways I’m going to continue my meditation”

“Got it but I’m just giving aphmau a tour of the house” he looked at Aphmau “come on” they both left Vylad room. Garroth showed Aphmau the rest of the house until he got to his bedroom “so this my room if you want to chill in here for a while”

“Oh um s-sure” aphmau walked into the room behind Garroth. The room itself looked pretty normal, the walls were painted blue. There was lots of photos and a basketball bat by the door, Aphmau nearly forgot he played basketball. She went to sit on the end of the bed. Even though Aphmau was nervous about the dinner everything seemed to be going ok. Garrotte hadn’t flirted with her at all and she was actually starting to warm up and feel comfortable with him. “Hey you got a legend of Zelda poster”

“Oh yeah I’m a fan of the games”

“I thought you weren’t really into video games”

“I’m not.. well not as much as Zane and I wouldn’t call myself a gamer but I do like console games” Garroth picked up a console and showed Aphmau “I don’t really play often as I’m pretty busy with being the captain of the basketball team and all that”

“You are?”

“Yeah you didn’t know?”

“Well I knew you played I just didn’t know you are the captain”

“Well not to gloat but I’m also the star player as well”

“Well that is definitely gloating”

“Not if it’s true” Garroth smirked and Aphmau laughed at him. Garroth after that clearly stated trying to flirt with her but before Aphmau could respond Zane walked in. Zane was wearing a black suit something he wasn’t wearing last time Aphmau saw him. She noticed it looked a bit big on him. “Garroth don’t be gross”

“Hey Zane” Garroth said in a tired voice but it sound like he was tired of something else not Zane

“Why don’t you just kiss already it’s making me sick watching you try to flirt” he made a fake gag noise to really push his point

“Calm down we just having a conversation”

“What’s going on?” Vylad popped into the room. Zane jumped a little “where did you come from?”

“Our mom duh”

Zane sigh “That’s not- you know what I’m leaving”

Vylad sighed turned to Aphmau and Garroth “you know I’m actually starting to remember a few things from childhood about Aphmau” Aphmau was still having a hard time remembering so she was pretty interested “ZANE this is something to do with you if you want to come back in”

Zane popped his head into the room “No I’m good, I’d rather not remember back then” garroth grabbed him and dragged him in “come on I’m sure you’re interested”

Vylad then started going on about how Garroth used to mean to Zane and how he remembered that Aphmau used to try and defend him. “i wasn’t that mean to Zane growing up. I remember being a good older brother” garrotte put his arm around Zane’s shoulder “right Zane” he pushed him over “sure whatever you want to believe”

“You’re a good brother now but back then you have to admit you weren’t the greatest” Vylad said. Garroth just looked down feeling guilty. “I mean at least Aphmau was looking out from you right Zane?”

“She should have been looking out for you because you used to be eating snails as a kid” Zane left pretty abruptly and angry. Aphmau guessed he wasn’t happy with those memories being shared

“KIDS DINNER IS READY” they all headed downstairs.

Soon after everyone was done dinner Sylvanna and Zinnia sent them to go hang out in the living room as they cleaned up. Everything was fine until Zane started making comments at Garroth about Aphmau. Garroth was so angry he left to cool down outside. Zinnia saw Garroth going outside and asked one them to go check on him. Zane wasn’t going to do it and Vylad looked uncomfortable so Aphmau decided to be the one to check on him.

Aphmau walked up to Garroth who was by a tree. He was just standing there but he looked like he had a lot on his mind.

Garroth needed to get away from everyone. He just couldn’t stop thinking about Aphmau. He did want to date her but how would that affect his relationship with Laurence but at the same time Laurence has also been flirting with her. Would he be the bad guy if he made a move on Aphmau? He was sure she liked him- “Garroth are you ok?”

“Aphmau I like you”

“I like you too” Aphmau smiled at him but he couldn’t tell that it was a awkward smile

“No not like that. I like you like I want to be in a relationship with you” aphmau looked a little surprised? Kinda Garroth couldn’t really tell but he decided to make a move. Garroth leaned forward and kissed Aphmau but He was so focused on the kiss he didn’t hear the sound of a camera behind him. He pulled back from the kiss “I-I shouldn’t have d-done that”

“you um- …let’s just head back inside”

“Ok…” Garroth and Aphmau walked back in. Aphmau didn’t reject him but… he doesn’t really know and he doesn’t really notice that Aphmau ended up being quiet for the rest of the night.

Chapter Text

It was the Monday after Aphmau had her first kiss with Garroth, she hasn’t talked to him since and wasn’t sure how to. But Just before she was about to leave for school “Aphmau actually before you leave I was wondering something” Sylvanna called

“Oh um… what is it” a worry feeling ran her. Did her mom know about the kiss? She knew there was no way she could
But…

“I was wondering if you would be up to babysitting my friend’s daughter tomorrow” sylvanna asked “she would be willing to pay you so… it be a good way to make some money”

“Oh.. yeah sure I don’t mind”

“Great I’ll tell her” and with that Aphmau left her house and started to make her way to school. Aphmau really didn’t want to go to school today not like she ever really wants to go but today was different. She knew about Garroth’s feelings but now she was going to have to do something about them and she still wasn’t sure of her own feelings. She kinda liked Garroth so shouldn’t she be happy?

she continued to walk but then up ahead she saw Laurence. oh great, It’s not like she didn’t want to see him but she couldn’t help but think about how he would feel about her and Garroth kissing. Garroth most likely didn’t even tell him. “Oh hey Aphmau, you walking to school today?” Laurence turned to Aphmau with a smile

“Y-yup just walking to school” Aphmau laughed nervously. They both started walking together.

“So um you seem more jumpy than usual” Laurence commented not really thinking much about her being jumpy but aphmau quickly tried explain “it’s um it’s probably because of my weekend. I had a pretty crazy one”

“Oh really want to talk about it?”

“Honestly I’d rather talk about your one”

“Oh um sure” Laurence started talking about his weekend but he was a Little taken aback. It’s not like he didn’t expect Aphmau to ask about his weekend but most Girls that were into him only really like him for his looks and really don’t ask about him or try and get to know him. It was nice that’s why he liked spending time with Aphmau.

They continue to walk to school and now are by the fountain outside. “So yeah most of my weekend was just football practice”
Laurence then looked right at Aphmau “you know Garroth told me that you were in to football, you should of mentioned it”

“He did!!! What else did he mention?” Aphmau sounded shocked at first but tried to sound normal realising that they friends so of course they are going to talk.

“Oh um just that your moms know each other and that you went to the park together and played football with him and his brothers” as Laurence ended his sentence the bell started to ring and they started walking inside. “Next time you should invite me. I’d love to beat you at football”

“Hey! I’m actually pretty good at it”

“Yeah but you haven’t played against me” Laurence laughed “anyways I got to get to the field, we have game this weekend so the team has first period off to practice” they said their goodbyes and Aphmau started to head to her class but was stopped.

“well look who we have here” Aphmau turned around saw Gene standing there. They were alone in the hall so decided to try walk away from him but he grabbed her arm. “Come on, you’re really not going to talk to me just because Laurence says so” he lets go of her arm “don’t you think for yourself?”

“I am thinking for myself” aphmau argued at him “and I think that I don’t want to hang out with you or anything to do with your group”

Gene just smiled “well I think you gonna change your mind considering the fact I know something that you really don’t want Laurence to know”

“What..”

“If you want to know more meet me by the bathrooms”

“I-I can’t do that I’ll be in class” aphmau argued “why can’t you just tell me now!”

“Tell your teacher that you’re going to the bathroom or don’t but I can’t promise I’m going keep quiet” Gene walks away without saying anything else

Around fifteen minutes later Aphmau was in her first class of the day. She decided she was going to meet Gene, she didn’t want to but she had to know what he’s on about. She asked to go the bathroom and her teacher let her. She walked up the bathrooms with bad feeling. Gene strolled up to Aphmau with a smirk on his face.
Aphmau looked right at him “ ok I’m here, what do you know”

“Oh come on, what’s the rush why don’t we stop and talk for bit” Gene leaned against the wall “why don’t we try to get to know each other”

“Because I have a class I need to get back too and unlike you I care about my education” Aphmau normally was never this confident but she was getting sick of Gene.

“You don’t know I don’t care about my education” Gene now had his arms crossed but still learning against the wall “maybe I do care about my education they just don’t teach what I want to learn”

Just as he said that Aaron came out of the bathroom and bumped into him. “Why don’t you watch where you’re going” Gene turned to him.

Aaron stopped “why don’t you not stand in the middle of door ways”

“You know what why don’t you just keep walking and try not to start another fight” Gene replied back

“I don’t start fights” Aaron protested “and you should take you own advice and walk away”

Aphmau decided she been at the bathroom for way too long and didn’t care to listen to them fight “hey! I’m gonna go back to my class whatever you wanted can wait”Aaron gave her this weird look but didn’t say anything. Aphmau walked back to her class hoping Gene was just mess with her and would now leave her alone.

The rest of Aphmau’s day was normal, She didn’t Garroth or Laurence. She had PE for her last class so she ended up by the back of the school and that’s where she saw Gene. He ended up walking over to her when nobody else was around.

“Ah Aphmau now we can finally talk about this” Gene handled Aphmau his phone with a photo of her kissing Garroth on it.

“W-where did get this” Aphmau just stood there staring at the picture. As soon as she saw it she lost all confidents. Gene quickly took the phone out of her hand.

“I have my ways” Gene smiled “you know I just wanted to show you before I show this to Laurence” Aphmau tried to protest but Gene just cut her off with fake sad sigh “man Garroth is Laurence best friend and he kissed you. Right after Sasha told me that she overheard him telling Garroth how much he liked you” Gene lied right to Aphmau trying to make her feel worse. Sasha never overheard anything and Gene didn’t even know if they knew about each other feelings for Aphmau.

“You can’t show him that” aphmau felt even more horrible but she couldn’t let that picture get out. If Laurence saw that, him and Garroth could stop being friends and what if he showed other people the picture like Ivy. She just got Ivy to leave her alone but if she saw that picture she’d never leave her alone again.

“Well if that’s the case let’s make a deal. I won’t show this to Laurence or anyone if you join the shadow knights”

“What there’s no way” Aphmau was still in shock but there was no way she would join them “why’d you even want me to join?”

“I have my reasons” then Sasha called Gene and waved for him to come over. Her and zenix had been sitting behind the bleachers by the field. Gene started walking over them with Aphmau following behind “and if you don’t want to join the shadow Knights at least you could do is spend some time with the group and get to know us” Gene said in a sweet voice but something about it made Aphmau feel like the sweetest was fake.

Sasha and Zenix both turned to see Gene and Aphmau walk up “oh so you talked to her? It’s going to be nice not being the only girl in the anymore” Sasha said

“What can’t stand the pressure” Zenix joked next to her

“I can’t stand your face” Sasha replied back

“Guy! Technically she hasn’t joined yet” Gene said trying to break up his friends before they start fighting.

“I won’t be joining” aphmau add but Gene just laughed at that. He went to sit down with the shadow knights but Aphmau just stood there. Then Zenix kinda looked confused “wait what’s her name again?” He asked.

“It’s Aphmau” she replied sounding moody.

Zenix just turned to others like she wasn’t there “hmm I don’t really like that name” then looked right at Gene “you should give her a pet name”

Sasha laughed “yeah i agree, Aphmau is kinda hard to pronounce” she made a point of really pronouncing Aphmau as she said it.

Gene just sat there looking like he was thinking for a minute before he said “how the name kitty?” He Laughed

“I like it, an actual pet name” Sasha said

“Sasha and kitty, I like it cause it got the same acronym as Shadow knights SK” Zenix pointed out

“Hey! I’m right here you can’t just decide you don’t like my name and give me a new one” Aphmau was angry. She also thought that Zenix was way harder to pronounce but she wasn’t gonna say it.

“Really because you forgot that I have picture that could ruin Laurence’s and Garrotte’s friendship”

Aphmau just signed but then a car pulled up a bit away and started beeping. “That should be my mom bye guys” Gene got up and started walking “come on Aphmau”
Aphmau followed him

“Why do you want to come with you?” Aphmau felt pretty nervous

“Well Dante isn’t here today so my mom is picking me up and I want you to meet her” Gene explained.

“Why do you want me to meet you MOM!”

“Well she doesn’t like Sasha or Zenix for obvious reasons so I want to show her I know a good egg in the school so she will stop worrying about me”

It’s been two days since Gene started blackmailing Aphmau, she been trying to avoid him but that comes to end now.

“Kitty” Gene called as he walked up to her. Aphmau was drinking from a water fountain before she quickly turned around.

“Don’t call me that” Aphmau said as she wiped water from her mouth.

“Oh come on think of it this way isn’t kitty a better nickname than potato” Gene said “and anyways It’s not like you’ll do anything when I still have this photo” he took his phone out of his pocket and opened to the picture of Aphmau and Garroth. “I know you really don’t want this to get out. It would ruin Garroth and Laurence relationship and I’m sure Ivy wouldn’t be happy to see this”

“Why are you bringing up Ivy” Aphmau asked but she already knew.

“Well Ivy already tried to fight you, I can’t imagine what she’s do when she’s see that you kissed Garroth” Gene smirked. Aphmau was confused. How did Gene know about the fight. It was clear Ivy didn’t like Aphmau but nobody knew that she tried to fight her. “H-how did you k-“

“I have my ways” then the class bell rang “well let’s go” Gene started walking with Aphmau following behind

“Where?”

Gene laughed “what no! We’re gonna skip school today” Gene looked back at Aphmau and saw that she had stop walking with him.

“I. Am. Not. Skipping. School. get the rest of your gang to go with you” Aphmau turned around and started walking to her class but Gene grabbed her arm. He did a lot… but this time Aphmau was able to his arm off of her.

“Sasha and Zenix are outside waiting for us but if you don’t want to go it’s fine” he turned around and started walking “but I can’t promise I won’t show that picture to anyone” Aphmau really didn’t want to go but she began to follow him. Gene just turned and looked at her “oh so you are coming” he said sarcastically.

Aphmau really didn’t want to miss school today. She had seen Garroth the past two days but not long enough to actually talk to him about the whole kissing thing and she really wanted to talk to him today. Aphmau sadly didn’t have his number so she guess that conversation would have to wait. Aphmau was supposed to have werewolf class right now and she hoped nobody would notice she gone.

Skipping was actually pretty easy. Her and Gene just looked like they were doing a job or something so no teachers really Question anything. Now they’re in the park walking over the bridge to the rest of the shadow knights. “You know you need to relax skipping school really isn’t that bad”

“That’s easy for you to say” but Gene was right Aphmau was extremely anxious right now. She was shaky and jumpy

“It’s not like we’re going to anything bad. You’re just hanging out with me, Sasha and Zenix oh and speak of the devil there they are” Sasha and Zenix were sitting by the small pond. They both walked over to them “hey guys”

“Gene what took you so long?” Sasha asked. Both Gene and Aphmau sat down with them.

“Well I brought Aphmau with me so I took longer than usual” Gene said casually but all Aphmau could think about was how often do they skip school.

“Wow I’m actually surprised you skipped school” Sasha said to Aphmau.

“Well it took some help for the picture of you know” Gene replied to Sasha before Aphmau had a chance “I want to two to be welcoming to her as she’s be joining the shadow knights soon”

“I will not-“

“Really?” Zenix said raising an eyebrow. Both him and Sasha were so sure why Gene was so confident that she join so why he wanted her to join so badly.

“After spending sometime with us I think she’ll join in no time” Gene said like it was fact and not just something he hoped.

“Is she even hardcore enough to be in this group?” Zenix asked.

“Just shut up Zenix” Gene snapped at him. He didn’t do well with people questioning him. Because of Gene snapping at him, Zenix got mad and ended up storming away over to the bridge.

“I swear he has a same temper as that Zane kid” Sasha murmured and then looked at Gene “hey.. why aren’t we letting that Zane guy join again?”

Gene sat forward “because he’s not fun to mess with.. but kitty over here is fun and will be useful in the future” useful in the future? What does that mean Aphmau thought. Gene and Sasha then started to make fun of Zane wanting to in the shadow knights. Even so Aphmau was still pretty anxious with skipping school and being the shadow knights she still decided to try and defend Zane. “HEY you guys really shouldn’t talk about Zane that way”

Sasha looked a bit annoyed but didn’t say anything “I’m gonna see how Zenix is doing. He still has the stuff right?” Gene asked Sasha.

“Yeah he does” Gene walked over to him and left Sasha and Aphmau alone.

“What stuff does Zenix have?” Aphmau asked worryingly

“Just some art stuff, relax” Sasha replied “hey.. what are your grade likes. Are you like a all A student or like average or dumb”

“Oh um I guess mostly A but like a C+ in maths sometimes” aphmau answered unsure of why she was asking. “Why”

“Just wanted to make sure Gene wasn’t letting someone Dumb in to the group” Aphmau thought that was kinda rude but after like a minute of silence she decided to the same question.

Sasha answered average.

Aphmau and Sasha didn’t have that bad of a conversation. Aphmau learned a lot about Sasha and what she was into like palm reading and making potions. She said she was even in the witch class but Aphmau had never seen her maybe she never shows or is In the other class. Aphmau knew there was two because of Travis being in the other one. The conversation with Sasha wasn’t actually bad maybe a little weird but not bad

“APHMAU! Come over here” gene called.
She walked over to him and right as Zenix went back to Sasha. “So.. how are you finding our little group”

“Y-you’re fine but I’m not interested in joining” aphmau said “and I really want this day of skipping to end” aphmau mumbled that part.

“Ok how about this you can go leave”

“Really and will you delete the picture”

Gene laughed “what no chance and you didn’t let me finish. You can go leave if you tag this wall with the shadow Knight logo”

“What!”

“You heard me. I want you to vandalise this wall” Gene handed Aphmau a bottle of spray paint and crossed his arms.

“There’s no way I’m doing that”

“Well then I wonder how Laurence and Ivy would feel about you kissing Garrotte”

“I thought you said we weren’t going to do anything bad”

“It’s really not that bad and besides I think our logo will make it look better”

Aphmau didn’t want to do this.. but she had no choice “fine.. I’ll do it

It’s been a few days since Aphmau skipped school with the shadow knights, luckily she didn’t get caught but now she had a bigger problem. Gene had started to realise that being nice isn’t getting Aphmau into the shadows knight and because of that he’s started a new tactic.

Being an Asshole was the new tactic.

Aphmau was on her way to eat lunch when she heard him. “Kitty” Gene called. Even though she wasn’t looking at him, she could tell he was smirking. She thought about just ignoring him but she still stop.

He walked up to her and the smell of smoke was still fresh off his breath as he grabbed her arm and stood way too close. “What do you want” aphmau asked hopeful she wouldn’t have to take the blame for something again.

“Me, Sasha and Zenix are skipping class after lunch. So meet us at the bathroom in ten” Gene turned around “and don’t make us wait” then he left before she could say anything.

“What..” she couldn’t believe it… well she could but that’s not point! Gene said he wouldn’t make her skip school again. Aphmau felt like she was going to cry even though she knew she really shouldn’t and ran into the nearest classroom. She saw that no one was in there so she sat down and tried to calm herself though she couldn’t. Aphmau ended up the music room even though she didn’t do music she’d been in here one or twice-

Then she heard it. Someone was playing guitar. Someone was in here. “Are you ok?” The voice asked.

Aphmau tried to laugh “not really”

“If you don’t mind me asking, why”

“It’s a long story, I don’t wanna bother you” aphmau really want to vent at the moment but she didn’t want to just unload all of it on to this stranger.

“You won’t bother me”

“Well ok” aphmau explained the whole thing to him trying to leave out details that would lead back her. He ended up making her actually feel better but then she had to leave. Lunch was over but she decided she wasn’t going to meet Gene.

Even though Aphmau wasn’t going to meet Gene someone else was. Aaron made his way over to the bathrooms not caring that he’d be late for class. Aaron really didn’t know why he was doing this, he did hate Gene but was it bad enough to go out of his way to make trouble for himself. And of course there way definitely not an any other reason for this.

Gene had his back turned to the shadow knights and his phone in his hand. Aaron saw the perfect opportunity. He quickly blew past him and the phone out of his hand. When he saw the phone hit the ground he went and stood on it.

“Oh my god what’s fucking wrong with you!!” Gene shouted as he looked at his phone on the floor completely ruined. “that was my phone!”

“Really because it looks like trash now”

“You’re so lucky I can’t deal with you right now” Gene said though he probably wouldn’t have been able to do much.

“Talk to someone who cares” Aaron left feeling a lot better.

Gene turned back to Sasha and Zenix “he’s going to pay for that” he said filled with anger.

“Gene you better have a backup right?” Sasha asked.

“…”

“GENE!!!”

It was the end of the day and Aphmau was walking to her last class until she ended up passing by Ivy and her friends. Every time she passed them they always whisper and she knows it’s about her. She thinks she should have gotten over it by now.

But today was different. Today she could actually hear what they were saying.

“Oh god do you see her”

“Why is she wearing that bow. What is she five”

The whole group filled with laughter

“And she thinks she can look like that and try get with my man”

“Hey it’s not her fault she was born with that face”

Aphmau really just wanted to go home. at least she had a class with Travis. She hasn’t had the chance to talk to him in a while.

Aphmau got home and went straight to her bedroom. She got undressed from her school uniform and got in some comfy clothes and fell on to her bed.

Aphmau decided to try and talk to FC. She really needed to get a few things off her chest.

Shu: hey you online

FC: yeah
What’s up

Shu: some girls were making fun of me
Kinda just wanted to talk about it

FC: oh
That sucks
What were they saying?

Shu: just going on about my looks
I normally don’t care but today just sucked

FC: wait
Does this happen a lot!!!!

Shu: not really
Do you remember that one girl at the start of the year I told you about
It’s her

FC: dude don’t take shit off of her
Bro couldn’t even fight you

It’s been a few days since Gene had talked to Aphmau. She doesn’t think he would just leave her alone when he was so sure on getting to join but she happy he left her alone. Maybe Aphmau’s still a little anxious but she has better things to think about like her birthday next week. Aphmau made some handmade invitations for a sleepover to give out and she left them on Katelyn, Lucinda, Nicole and Teony’s desks.

She was now walking out of homeroom class with Travis and Vylad before someone came up to her.

“H-hey you’re Aphmau right?” A girl with pink hair and meifwa ears and tail asked. She was the same height as Aphmau but with her nervous posture she looked smaller.

“Umm yes, i am” Travis and Vylad just kinda stood there until Aphmau turned back to them. “I’ll see you guys in a minute” they looked a little confused but said there goodbyes and left. “So you’re Nana from homeroom”

She looked surprised “Actually I go by kawaii chan or k.c” she mumbled the last name so Aphmau guess that she probably liked kawaii Chan better. “Um anyways you left this invitation on my desk and I was wondering if you meant too?”

No. She did not mean too but she couldn’t say that. Aphmau did think she seemed nice maybe she should just say it was for her. “Yes. Yes it was meant for you. I guess we don’t talk a lot but we can become friends” did that make sense? Aphmau didn’t really know but that’s what she’s going for.

“Oh then thanks for inviting me. I’ve actually never been to a sleepover”

“It’s fine. Can I get your number”

“Yeah sure” kawaii Chan gave Aphmau her number and then headed to class. Aphmau had an about a 10 minute break before her next class but she still went on her way. I’ll just have to invite Nicole in person Aphmau thought to herself.

“Hey Aphmau” Garroth came up to Aphmau as she stood outside waiting for her class.

“H-hey Garroth” Aphmau and Garrotte still hadn’t really spoken since the kiss. It’s been almost two weeks since then.

“I kinda wanted to talk to you about you know.. the kiss. I guess I’ve realised it’s a bit too soon and we should just take whatever our relationship is slower”

“Yeah that sounds good” Aphmau was happy about this. She kinda decided that she does have a crush on both Garroth and Laurence but that’s she’s not gonna get with either of them.

“Great.. do you maybe want to hang out after school since it’s a Friday” Garroth eyes didn’t meet Aphmau’s but she didn’t really notice anything. “Since October just started there’s this new fall festival in town”

“Yeah I loved too. I’ve always been a fan of fall and Halloween and all that stuff. We could meet there after school” Aphmau was feeling way more comfortable until the next thing Garroth said that nearly knocked her off her feet.

“Great it’s a date” and with that Garroth walked away leaving Aphmau very confused. Aphmau class was about to start but she couldn’t stop thinking about it. Saying it’s a date isn’t that weird and doesn’t make it a date but… Garroth did have feelings for her. What if he meant take it slow by going on dates?

It was finally the end of the school day. Aphmau quickly walked home and went up to her mom. She asked if she could go hang out with Garroth and of course her mom said yes, though Aphmau didn’t tell her that it might be a date.

Now that Aphmau was alone in her room she was trying to figure out what to wear. The weather was pretty cold now so she went with a jeans and red and white striped jumper. But as she was looking for a hat or some gloves she got a text.

FC: you ready to play that new racing game that came out yesterday?

Oh no. Aphmau had completely forgotten about her plans with FC. She guessed that they could play another time but hopefully FC won’t be too annoyed.

Shu: I completely forgot sorry
I can’t today but what about tomorrow?

FC: it’s fine
I just got it so I might just play solo

Shu: Wait so we can play together

FC: fine
But next time you forget I’m not waiting

Shu: you know you will

Aphmau put away her phone and continue getting ready. After she was dressed she decided to bring a bag. She put her phone, a sketchbook, some money and one or two other items in the bag before grabbing a jacket and leaving. The festival was taking place in the park and right out front by the gates was Garroth.

“Hey Aphmau” Garroth smiled at her. Aphmau had walked over to Garrotte and now was just standing by the entrance to the festival.

“H-hey” aphmau looked around as she started talking “this place is massive. I didn’t think it would be this big” they both went in side.

“Yeah the festival is usually pretty big. Have you ever been to one before” Garroth ask as they walked around looking at all the games and rides.

“Well before me and my mom moved here there was sometimes games and stuff in where we used to live but never any festivals”

“Well I’m glad to take you to your first festival. So do you want to get food first or go on rides or something”

“Why don we go on that one over there” Aphmau pointed over to a small rollercoaster called haunting-coaster
“We should start with something small since there’s a lot to do” aphmau said excitedly

“That sounds good” Garroth replied.
Aphmau and Garroth went a few more rides after that until they got to the tallest ride in the festival. It was a big tower with swinging chairs that went up and down.
“Lets go on that one” aphmau said walking over to it

“It um quite big don’t you think” Garroth looked a tower up and down.

“That’s what makes it fun, come on” Aphmau and Garroth got on the ride. After the ride was done Garroth nearly got sick in a nearby by trashcan. “Maybe that was a bad idea” Aphmau pated Garroth back as they sat on a bench

“I’m fine really, I just need like a few minutes” Garroth tried to sound convincing but he felt like if he talked more he would throw up.

“Ok.. I’m going to get you some water and maybe something to eat” Aphmau got up and started to look for the nearest food stand but she ends up meeting someone on the way.

“Laurence?” Aphmau saw Laurence up a head by some sort of food stand

“Aphmau hey. What you doing here?” He smiled at her and went to grab his food and walk over to her.

Aphmau didn’t want to say she was on a date. She still wasn’t sure and it really didn’t feel like a date “oh I’m here Garroth”

“Really where is he” Laurence looked an around for a second before looking back a Aphmau. She explained what happened with Garroth and what she was doing now. “Yeah that sounds like Garroth. He always goes on rides but he can never handle them” Laurence laughed.

“Yeah so I’m just trying to get us something to drink… do you want to hang out with us?”

“Yeah sure” Laurence smiled and seemed happy about being asked to join “I can you show you where to get some drinks”

Aphmau and Laurence got drinks and headed back to where Garrotte was sitting. “Hey Garroth” Laurence laughed seeing Garroth with his head down on the table

“Don’t laugh at my pain” Garroth said not sitting up.

“Here I got drinks” Aphmau sat down and handed him a water while holding the hot chocolate she got herself. They all sit down together and start talking for a while until Aphmau pulled out her sketchbook and a few pencils.

“You guys want to do some drawing while we’re just sitting here” Aphmau asks

“I mean I feel better but I’m definitely not an artist”

“Come on Garroth, whatever you I’ll definitely like it” Laurence said grabbing a piece of paper from Aphmau “and I’m also not that good”

“Yeah I agree with Laurence… not the part about you not being good though!” Aphmau turned to Laurence but both of them just laughed

Garroth also grabbed a piece of paper “ok I guess I’ll draw Laurence”

“Oh then I can you” Aphmau said excitedly

“Then I’ll draw Aphmau” they all started drawing until “do you got an orange” Garroth asked

“Do not draw me with Orange hair” Laurence said like it was some inside joke.

“Why would he draw you with orange hair” Aphmau ask and Garroth just giggle

“Back in middle school I dyed my hair orange to match with my sister. Let’s just say I’m really not good at dyeing hair”

They all continue drawing for a while until they decide to get up and try some of the games. Laurence and Garroth ended up competing to win something for Aphmau but both of them failed. After that they got food and did some apple bobbing. Then Garroth said he had to the bathroom.

“Hey look there’s a Photo Booth over there. Do you want to go in?” Laurence asked Aphmau.

“Well we might as well do something as we wait for Garroth” both of them headed in and Laurence payed. Everything was fine until the last photo. Where Laurence kissed her.

It was the 16th of October, Aphmau’s birthday. It was getting closer to when everyone would get here and Aphmau was ready. She had everything she needed. Decorations were up, food and blankets were out and Aphmau’s mom is baking the cake. She gotten few happy birthday texts from FC, Travis, Laurence and Garrotte but she was reading them someone knocked on the front door. Aphmau went downstairs and saw her mom at the door talking Katelyn and who seem to me her dad.

“Here why do you two come in” Sylvanna said as she welcomed them both inside. Katelyn came in with a dark blue bag in one hand and a card in the other. She was wearing light blue pyjamas with white dots. Her dad followed her in, he was much taller than Katelyn but they still looked quite similar. “Would you like a tea or some coffee” Sylvanna asked Katelyn’s dad.

“I can’t stay for long. I just wanted to make sure my Katelyn got here safe” he replied. “Now Katelyn be nice and no roughhousing” he laughed.

Aphmau took Katelyn upstairs to her bedroom but as she was walking up she could hear her mom and Katelyn’s dad talking like they were old friends. They got to Aphmau’s room and Katelyn dropped her bag on the floor. “We’re probably just gonna sleep in my living room but we’re can to be hanging out here until everyone gets here” Aphmau said as she got out some board games. “Do you got any favourites? Cause I got lots of games”

“I don’t really have a favourite I just like to win” Katelyn smirked “so who’s coming anyway?” Katelyn was now leaning on the bed by the tower of board games.

“Well.. there’s obviously you, Lucinda, Teony, Nicole and Kawaii chan” Aphmau listed off as she got the last of the games “do you think this too much?” She looked over the tower of games taking up almost all her bed.

“Probably but who the hell is Kawaii chan and what kinda name is that” Katelyn now leaning up “like did her parents actually name her that?”

“No of course not but that’s what she asked to be called. Anyways she a freshman in my homeroom class”

Downstairs they heard a laugh and the front door closing “that must be my dad leaving” soon after there was another knock on door. It was kawaii Chan

“Hey Kawaii Chan come in…. Where’s your mom or dad?” Aphmau ask seeing Kc show alone. She was wearing a pastel pink pyjamas with different coloured kittens on it.

“Oh um my parents were busy so I walked here… but here!!” She handed Aphmau a card with smile. They all went up to Aphmau’s room to hang out luckily this gave Katelyn sometime to warm up to Kawaii Chan. Soon after Teony came, then Lucinda and lastly Nicole. Aphmau didn’t really know Nicole but she was Katelyn’s friend so she hoped to get to know her more tonight

It was about an hour into the sleepover and it was now dark outside. They all were playing board games, Aphmau and Katelyn were fighting over who won when Aphmau’s mom came into the room holding a red velvet cake and a phone in her other hand. She started singing happy birthday and Aphmau’s face when was red as the cake from embarrassment soon the others started singing to tease her. After her mom stopped singing she started to cut and handed out cake to everyone. Sylvanna tried to stay and chat but Aphmau got her to leave.

“So… now that’s your mom’s gone let’s talk about the school gossip” Lucinda put down her plate that was now empty.

“Of course you want to talk about gossip” Katelyn said. She sounded a little annoyed but was probably because her and Lucinda were in the middle of another fight.

“HEY! what’s that supposed to mean” Lucinda sapped back

“It’s supposed to mean-“ before Katelyn could finish Nicole had gave her a little push “why don’t we just go back to the gossip”

“Even though I’m not one for gossip I’m actually pretty interested in what you got to say” Teony add in obvious trying to skip over Lucinda and Katelyn fighting. Lucinda told them all the story of Ivy getting into a fight with another girl and blaming it on the other girl. Since this was the girl 5th fight she got kicked out and her parents payed for her to get her back in and have this not go on her record”

“Wow that’s horrible” Kawaii chan said with the last bit of cake in her mouth “shouldn’t they know that’s it’s Ivy by now?”

“she never gets caught. I hate it and the fact the other girl normally does nothing and still gets the blame” Katelyn add then she looked over to Aphmau “you got in a fight with her right?”

“You did?” Nicole said “why would she even fight you?”

“Well it was much of a fight but she saw me and Garroth together like twice in the first week of school and decided to try and fight me and then put the blame on me” Aphmau told them all. Only Katelyn and Lucinda had heard about this. “Luckily my mom believed me so I didn’t get in that much trouble but.. yeah now she kinda just whispers and laughs with her friends when I walk past”

“She crazy but I kinda get her when it comes to Garroth. You have to admit he’s hot” Kawaii chan laughed

“You are not trying to say hear me out about Garrotth. Even though he’s not my type he is not a hear me out” Lucinda hit her pillow off of Kawaii chan

Kawaii chan threw her pillow back at her “I am not trying to call him a hear me out.. but what is you type”

“We are not here to talk about my type” then she smiled and looked to Teony “what about you?”

“I.. don’t know but none of the guys at school are my type that’s for sure” Aphmau saw that she looked weird when answering? She wasn’t sure that was the word, maybe sad. “But I think we all know Katelyn type”

“Can we not bring up Jeffrey. I’m still trying to keep it a secret from my dad and it’s getting annoying” Katelyn went to grab something from the bowl of sweets Aphmau had put down earlier.

“Jeffrey the senior? You guys would look cute together. I ship it” Kawaii chan add.

Wait Kawaii chan liked shipping people too! “I also like shipping people” Aphmau said excitedly

“Really” then Teony ask what shipping was and everyone completely forgot about Jeffery as Kawaii chan went into a ten minute conversation about what shipping was. After she started talking about who she ships and why.

“You know Aphmau I ship you with that one scary guy I seen you with”

“Scary guy? The one that doesn’t talk to anyone” Katelyn asked

“WAIT! do you mean Aaron”

“Yeah”

“There is no way in hell I would ever date him… like ever. I would have to be spelled or under someone’s control to even think about”

It was the last day before the Halloween holidays and the whole school was outside for a sports day. It was surprisingly warm enough for being so late into October. The senior classes were currently doing the three legged race and Katelyn was talking to Teony about her to crush the juniors. “So Aphmau are you good at sports?” Kawaii Chan asked standing behind them with Aphmau. “I’m definitely not” she smiled.

“Well I’m not best but I definitely can play” she watched as the seniors finished up and Katelyn and Teony’s class started playing. “I hope we get to play against Katelyn. I think I could give her a run for her money” Aphmau said before Aaron walked past and bumped into Aphmau and kept walking. “Hey watch where you’re going”

“I wouldn’t need too if you didn’t stand in the middle of the walk way” Aphmau kinda saw his point but she wasn’t about to let him know that so Aphmau and Aaron then started arguing and he was about to walk away until Aphmau all of a sudden kicked a ball that went right into the back of his head.

Aaron turned around with a smirk “was that a mosquito bite?”

“It was me you idiot” Aphmau replied back with anger.

“Oh…” Aaron just smirked “That’s why I didn’t even feel anything thing” Aphmau was about to start again before Kawaii chan stepped in and pulled Aphmau away but as she Walked away she said “You’re so confident now but let’s see how you are when I beat you in any game today”

“We’ll see about that” Aaron Smiled and Walked away. Aphmau and Kawaii Chan went back to where their bags were and sat down to continue watching the Game that was happening. “You got really confident back there” Kawaii said to Aphmau, still keeping an eye on the game.

“Yeah he just brings it out in me” Aphmau then relieved what she said. “… don’t say anything”

“Ok.. but I’m thinking it”

Soon after Whatever Katelyn and Teony were playing was over and they headed over to where Aphmau and Kawaii Chan are sitting. They started chatting for a bit until Kawaii Chan had mentioned what had happened.

“Dude are you trying to get in a fight with that guy?” Katelyn asked before she took a sup of water and wiped some sweat off her forehead “…so you can stand up to that guy but you’re letting Ivy give you trouble”

“I agree with Katelyn” Teony had added. Aphmau had ended up telling them more about Ivy making comments about her and her looks on multiple occasions. “You can’t let her talk about you like that. I think you should tell a teacher”

“It’s fine really” Aphmau said. Soon Katelyn and Teony dropped the conversation and the sports day continued on. Aphmau and her friends played a few games until Aphmau took a break. During her break Garroth had come up to her and they started chatting but they didn’t notice that Ivy was watching in the distance.

“Ivy what are you looking at” Lily asked. Ivy just pointed to Aphmau and Garroth “oh” Alex also turned her head to see what she was pointing at.

“I’m sure it’s nothing” Alex signed with her hands.

“I don’t care if it’s nothing. I told that potato to stay away from my man” Ivy said never taking her eyes off of them.

“So what are you going to do?” Lily asked already knowing that Ivy was planning something.

“You’ll see”

It was now time for the volleyball game and Travis had come over to wish Aphmau good luck. “Shouldn’t you be playing too?”

“Nope, I’m going to be keeping score on volleyball” Aphmau asked how he was getting out of it and Travis replied “well- Dante is a judge and.. and he needed help”

“Are you using this as a way to get closer to Katelyn?” Aphmau laughed. Travis had been taking about Katelyn and seeing her in theatre class and wanting to see her more.

“What I have no idea what you are talking about”

“I see what you’re doing…” Aphmau then remembered her sleepover and jeffery “Travis.. I- I think Katelyn has a boyfriend already”

“What…oh… you know it’s fine it’s not I was ever actually going to ask her out or anything… you know” Aphmau wanted to stay and comfort him but she was called to go play in a football game. The was against Aaron’s class and Aphmau’s team ended up winning which was a great ego boost for Aphmau but then Aaron won the race against her.

it was now the end of the day and Aphmau was one of the last girls to go to the locker room. She thought about using the bathroom but with what happened with Ivy she hadn’t used it since. Aphmau made her way into the girls locker room not noticing someone following her in.

BANG

Ivy hit Aphmau over the head and push her into the nearest locker and locked her in. Aphmau didn’t see who did it but she could hear her voice afterwards. “I told her to stay away” Ivy laughed.

“Nice job” Lily replied and Aphmau heard their footsteps and door slammed shut. Aphmau started struggling breathe and as she fell like the walls were closing in on her. The only thing she could focus on was how small it was in there. She wasn’t sure how long she was in there for but then the door opened and Aphmau fell on top of… Katelyn. “Aphmau! Are you ok?” Teony who stood next to Katelyn asked.

Katelyn sat Aphmau do on one of the bench’s in the locker room as Aphmau just tried to start breathing normally again. “… ivy locked… me in” Aphmau struggled to said.

“This has gone too far! We’re telling the principal right now” Katelyn picked her and Aphmau’s bag that was left outside the locker and started walking out the room. Aphmau and Teony followed her to the principal office and they explained the whole thing. Soon Aphmau’s mom, Ivy and her mom were called in. With Aphmau story and Katelyn and Teony getting other girls story’s, Ivy was expelled from the school.
