“Why aren’t you an X-Man then?” Logan asked.
Pietro flashed a smile that didn’t quite meet his eyes. “I’m past help. They know that,” he said, far too casual for his ominous words.
“And Magneto?” Logan asked. “What does he give you?”
There was no answer this time. Just dark vortexes staring back at him, as if taunting him to try and guess. Or maybe, he didn’t even know himself.

Pietro and Erik have a fraught but close relationship in the dark timeline, and Pietro becomes so determined to save Erik that he sacrifices himself in the process. When Logan is sent back in time, Erik tells him not to involve Pietro, believing that it would be better for Pietro to have never met him as long as it let him alive. Unfortunately, they’re unable to find any other way to successfully break Erik our of the Pentagon, so Logan reluctantly tells young Charles and Hank about Peter. Peter and Erik don’t know who they are to each other yet, and Logan doesn’t tell them, but Logan sees the seed of what they could be. When Logan wakes up in the better future, he finds a much less troubled Erik and Peter, who have a loving father/son relationship and have a lot less issues
