Chapter Text

It's the first day of the year in Casper high, Danny is getting in his chair. His first class is mister lancer's class. It's his sophomore year and hopefully things are little better than last year.

Other people start joining class and sit in their seats. One of the people to join the class walks pass Danny and flicks his ear. He scowls at the person who did it. Dash.

The blonde boy gives a smirk as he sits down. Danny huffs while rolling his eyes. Hopefully dash isn't too much of an asshole this year. He's a sophomore. he shouldn't be doing that typical bully nonsense. More people keep coming in class and one student comes in that Danny never seen before.

A kid with a raven hair bowl cut. He has on a blue back pack, a blue plaid shirt on and brown trousers. He looks a little flustered as he walks in. He goes in the back and sits.

The rest of the class comes in and soon the Teacher. Mr.Lancer. He goes to his desk and clears his throat. "Hello students and welcome back, I hope you enjoyed your summer vacation and I hope you're ready for the new year. Now I had some of you in my class last year and for those who don't know me I'm mister lancer."

Mr.lancer then looks to the back of the room and sees the boy with the bowl cut. He picks up a folder he put on his desk and opens it to look through some papers. He smiles before speaking again.

"Also we have a new student. Mr. Kageyama may you please come to the front of the class and introduce yourself?"

The boy gets a little startled from his name being called, but he stands up and nervously walks to the front of the class. He fiddles with his fingers and gulps.

"My..my name is Shigeo Kageyma. I'm uh..14. This is my first day in uh..high school and I'm from Japan." He says shly.

"Wonderful, do you have any hobbies you do you would like to share?"

Shigeo looks more nervous and he's trying to find his words. "Uh..I like movies and exercising." He says. After saying that he quickly goes back to his desk, he sits and keeps his eyes down.

"Well..good to meet you Mr.Kaeyma. Now let's get started with class, it's the first day so we'll do something simple. Each of you will give me a one paragraph on a book you like and why." The class groans a little and Mr.lancer rolls his eyes. "It's only one paragraph, you'll live."

Danny reaches into his backpack and takes his notebook to begin his assignment while he does he notices the new kid staring at him, but when their eyes meet he quickly looks down again.

About two hours later, Danny is the lunch room, he's sitting at his table eating his packed school lunch and he's with Sam and Tucker.

"So Sam how was Paris?" Tucker ask and Sam shrugs. "It was good, just wish my parents didn't make me go to all those tourist traps. My mom and dad took way too many cheesy couple pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower." But she smiles and reaches into his back pack.

"But I did get this cool barret." She says and shows them a dark purple barret. "So what did you guys do during the summer?" She ask.

"Got a summer job at a store called batteries plus. I mainly fixed people's broken tech." Tucker says. "I was able to save up enough money for all the nasty burger and new video games I want this year." He says proudly.

"Or you can use that money responsibly." Danny says and Tucker looks at him boredly. "Dude you've met me right? What about you? what did you do during the summer?

"Mainly help my parents with catching ghost. Catching ghost by myself and having very little time to relax." Danny says with a sigh. "Now I'll even have less time now that I'm back in school." He says before eating some leftover spaghetti he bought from home. "Plus I have to keep a close eye on Vlad now that's he the mayor."

While he huffs about that someone comes into the lunch room and looks around with a nervous expression. Danny sees that's it's Shigeo.

In his hand is some type of lunch box and he looks overwhelmed from seeing so many people.

Shigeo wonders aimssely and accidentally bumps into someone. Danny immediately gets worried when he sees that the other boy bumped into Dash.

"Hey watch it! You almost made me drop my food and if it would have gotten on my new shirt, I would have to kick your ass." Dash says with a glare.

"S-Sorry." Shigeo says and looks at Dash's shirt. It's a shirt with a cartoon doberman on a motorcycle.

"That's your new shirt?" He ask and dash nods with a proud smile. "It's from the brand Zumiez, pretty cool right?"

Sheigo tilts his head before asking "Why is it ugly?"

When he asked that he wasn't trying to mean, he's just saying how he feels, but it gets Dash mad anyway. He grabs sheigo’s shirt and pulls him. "The hell!? You looking to get pu-"

"Dash for once can you not be an asshole?" Dash turns around and sees Danny standing with his own lunch in his hand. "He's new give him a break."

"Stay out of this Fenton, the runt insulted me."

"He didn't, all he did was just ask a question. Now let him go." Dash gives Danny a threatening stare but pushes Sheigo out of his grip.

Dash is about to go, but Shigeo speaks. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you..I..I just don't think the shirt is appealing."

"Just stay out of my way, runt." He pushes pass Sheigo and the boy sighs a little. So much for trying to be normal on the first day.

"Hey." A voice says to him and he looks over to the boy that defended him. "Don't worry about Dash. He's not that tough." He says and then smiles. "I'm Danny."

"Um hi." Sheigo mumbles and then finally spots an empty table. He goes over to it and sits. Out of curiosity, Danny decides to go over and he sits next to him.

"So uh how do you like the town so far?" Danny ask and Sheigo shly looks down before answering. "I haven't really explored it, but..it seems nice." Shigeo then looks at Danny and his eyes get filled with curiosity once he notices Danny's aura. It's a little strange.

Danny notices how he staring and laughs nervously. "Is there something on my face?"

"You're aura..it's werid." Sheigo says honestly and Danny is little a caught off by that.

"Must be because I’m from a weird family." He jokes.

"Your family is weird? Why?" Sheigo ask and Danny starts to look a little embarrassed. "It's a little complicated." He says and then looks at Sheigo's bento box

"So what did you bring?"

"Hm? Oh. You mean my lunch." Sheigo uncovers the bento and shows Danny the contents of it. "Onigiri and some agedashi tofu."

"Wow, that looks a lot better than what I have..which is just left over spaghetti." He says. Shigeo looks at his lunch and then nervously starts to speak. "Um whenever I make ketchup spaghetti I like to cut the hot dogs, I make them look like squids."

"Squids?" Danny questions.

And Sheigo nods. "My little brother loved when I did that, I still do it sometimes because it's..cute to me." He says and his eyes get wide when he realizes what he said.

Did that sound lame? Is Danny going to laugh at him and leave? He wants to make friends and he's messing up so bad.

But the answer he gets is not the one he was expecting.

"That's cool." Danny says with a smile and Shigeo looks at him with surprise.

"Really?" He ask and Danny nods. "When I was younger I really loved when my sister or mom would cut my pancakes to make them into star shapes or make star shape cookies. I still do that with my pancakes. That's not..lame right?"

"No. Not at all." Sheigo says with a small smile and the two boys continue to talk.

Chapter Text

After school Shigeo is walking with Danny. Both of them are talking and Shigeo has open a lot more to Danny. 

"Me and my brother use to go to the forest sometimes and catch frogs or bugs. There wasn't really a lot of frogs, just toads. But I did catch a lot of butterflies, one time I caught an Apollo butterfly, they're a bit plain, but my brother was jealous I caught one before he did."

Shigeo says with a small fond smile. 

Shigeo has been talking about bugs for the last 20 minutes and Danny doesn't mind.  

"But I really like ants more than butterflies. Did you know some queen ants can actually live for years and keep reproducing?”

Danny shakes his head and chuckles. "You didn't mention in class you like bugs so much." And Shigeo looks a little embarrassed. "I was kind of in a hurrying to get back at my desk cause I didn't want to keep talking. I have stage fright..even though I wasn't on a stage."

"I get what you mean." Danny says, Danny isn't much of a public speaker himself unless it’s really important.  They continue to walk and suddenly a car pulls up near them, it's a white Chevrolet and Sheigeo tenses a little. It's his parents car.

The car stops and the windows roll down. The first person he sees is his dad. He waves and grins. "Hi son, how was school?"

“Hi dad, it was fine." Sheigo mumbles and the other person in the car comes into view. His mom. "Oh Sheigo, did you already make a friend? That's wonderful? Well? introduce us."

"Right..um this is Danny. He's in my first period class." 

"Nice to meet you Danny." Sheigeo’s  dad says with a friendly smile. "Hope our boy wasn't chattering your ear off." He jokes and Danny notices how Shigeo looks a little annoyed. 

"Hi it's very nice to meet you Ms.Kageyama and Mr.Kageyma." Danny says and Sheigo's mom smiles. "He's very polite, it's nice to meet you too, Danny. Come on Shigeo we're about to pick up your brother. Danny if you want we can drop you off at your place."

"Oh no thanks I'm fine." Danny says.

“Well you're always welcomed to free rides in the future. Okay Shigeo let's go, we'll also need to stop at the store to get some ingredients for dinner, I'm making Sara udon."

Shigeo winces on the inside. He hates Sara udon. He hasn't told his mom that because he doesn't want to hurt her feelings. He always has to force himself to eat it so his mom doesn't suspect he doesn't like it. He always feels sick afterwards.

Shigeo thinks and he blurts out "Actually Danny invited me over for dinner at his place."

Danny's eyes get a little wide and he's about to say something, but he sees Shigeo give him a quick pleading look. "Um yeah, I wanted him to come over. Is that okay Mr and Ms.Kageyama?" Danny asked and the two parents look a little flabbergasted then grin.

"Of course!" Mr.Kageyama says with a smile. "Son you're getting to be quite the social butterfly, by tomorrow you'll probably going to have the whole school hang out with you."

"Not really." Shigeo mumbles with an eye roll. 

"Danny before Shigeo goes to your home, we want to send him over with a guest gift. I have some time to make a dessert."

"Oh I don't want you to go through the trouble of-"

"Nonsense, we raised our boys to always be good house guest. Now what time do you and your family have dinner?"

"Um..around 7:30." Danny says and Shigeo’s father nods. "We'll have him over at 6:50, come on son, let's get going." Shigeo sighs, but nods before going over to the car. He gives Danny a look of appreciation before going in the car.

Once they leave, Danny immediately starts to panic a little. His family will probably freak Shigeo out.

"Mom, dad, please you have to promise me when he gets here you won't...um..overwhelm him.”

Danny's father Jack gives a hefty laugh. "Come on son, we don't overwhelm people, we amazed them." He says while leaning against the counter and eating a chocolate bar. "Right Maddie?”

"Right dear, everyday we're always putting people in awe on how talented our family is." Maddie says while she takes a roast out from the oven. 

"You mean freaky." Jazz mumbles from the table, she reading a book. 

“But we're so glad you were able to make more friends this year, dear. Tell us what's he like."

"Quiet. Which is what this dinner needs to be or at least tone down the ghost talk." Danny pleads. "Also please change out of your jumpsuites. We're having guest, we should at least try to look nice." 

Maddie gives a soft smile and nods. "Okay, sweetie. We'll try and tone it down. Come on Jack let's go changed.”

"But this jumpsuit is brand spanking new, I look great already."  Maddie gives him a stern look and he sighs. "Alright, alright, I'll change." They walk out of the kitchen and Danny sighs in relief. 

"You must really want this guy to stay friends with you." Jazz says. "You usually don't stress when Sam and Tucker come over for dinner."

"That's because Sam and Tucker are use to my parents being the way they are. Plus I think..he's cool so I do want to stay friends with him." 

Jazz smiles. "Well hopefully he thinks the same way about you."

Sheigo is standing outside the Fenton household. Danny texted him the address and he's looking up at all the signs that have the words 'Fenton Works on it.' 

What if Danny's family are some big shots? What if they don't like him because he's boring. Shigeo gulps as his anxiety goes up. He should have thought about this more. 

Sheigo takes a deep breath and brings himself to ring the doorbell.  He looks down to a plate in his hands. On the plate are Taiyaki cakes. They're wrapped over Saran Wrap and they're still a bit warmed,

His mom made them and told him to bring them over with him. "I hope they all like chocolate." He says to himself and the door opens. He's met with a red hair women in a white blouse and long pink skirt. She has on some pink diamond earrings as well. She smiles and greets him,

“Hello, are you Danny's new friend Shigeo?” 

"Y-Yes ma'am, may I come in?" He ask and she nods. "Of course, make yourself at home." She opens the door wider and lets him in. "Jack, guest is here."

“Right coming!" Jack yells and steps out into the living room. He's wearing an orange polo shirt and some khakis. "Hey there, young man." He says with a grin and sticks his out his hand. "Shigeo right? Nice to meet you. I'm Jack Fenton." Shigeo shakes his hand and he almost trips when Jack shakes his hand so firmly. 

"Oh Shigeo what do you have there?”

Maddie ask.

“Oh my mom said I should bring a dessert over. It's called Taiyaki. It's basically a chocolate stuffed waffle-"

“Stuffed waffles!?" Jack yells with excitement. "Son I like you already." He says and puts an arm around Shigeo. He tries to reach for the plate to take one of the sweet treats, but Maddie slaps his hand away. 

"Thank you Shigeo, these will be nice a dessert after dinner." She stresses the word "After." To Jack who pouts while Maddie takes the plate. "Danny your friend is here and he bought cute fish shaped waffles!"

"Coming." Danny says and he walks down stairs. He's in a black Green Day shirt and some dark blue jeans. He smiles once he sees Shigeo. "Hey man, I'm happy you made it." He says and Shigeo nods with his own smile and he looks around the house. 

"Well you three sit at the dinner table" Maddie says and looks at shigeo. “I hope you like roast beef. For the side I made mashed potatoes and sauté asparagus."

"That sounds delicious Ms.Fenton." Shigeo says and Maddie chuckles. "Danny your new friend is so polite."

"Yeah unlike those other two you hang out with." Jack mumbles and Danny gives him a bit of glare. They're all about to walk to the dinning room, But Shigeo stops once he sees something on the wall. A high tech looking gun.

“Hey what's that?" He ask while pointing. Danny sees what he's talking about and immediately panics on the inside. He forgot that his dad likes to put his ghost inventions on display.

“Oh that?" Jack ask and gives a proud grin. "That's one of my most prized possessions, it's a-"

"A collectible!" Danny says and Shigeo stares at him. "It is?" Danny nods. "Yeah it's replica from a sci-fi TV show. Right dad?" He ask while giving his dad a pleading look. 

"Um right! I made it myself." He says and Shigeo looks at the weapon again. "It looks real. Thats..cool if you were able to make it look so real Mr.Fenton."

"Thanks sport, now let's go eat." Jack says and Danny sighs in relief. They get to the dining room and Maddie is putting plates and utensils on the table. The food smells great and looks great. Shigeo sees a red hair girl sitting at the table. She waves at him. "Hi you must be my brother's new friend. I'm jazz. Danny's older and smarter sister."

Danny has to stop himself from flipping her off. "It's nice to meet you." Shigeo says and sits next to Danny at the table. Maddie puts his plate in front of him and his stomach growls from the sight of the food. The roast looks perfectly tender,  the mash potatoes is covered with some melted garlic butter and the asparagus is covered with different seasoning and also has some garlic butter on it. 

"Well dig in everyone." Maddie says as she sits down. Shigeo picks up his fork and starts with the roast. He hums in delight at the taste. It's juicy, well seasoned and pratically melts in his mouth. 

"So Danny says you're from Japan. What brings you to amitiy park?" Maddie ask 

“My dad got a better job in the city not too far from here. He's going to be an assistant manager for an airport."

"What about your mom, does she work?" Jazz ask and the boy nods. "She has a new job working from home, she's selling car insurance."

Danny feels a little envious that Sheigo's parents have normal jobs. Unlike his. Well his parents can make they’re job normal if they weren’t so obsessed with it 24/7.

“Do you like it here so far?" Maddie ask and Shigeo nods with a small smile. "Me and brother took the time to walk around when I got home. It's a really small town, but that's okay. It's easy to get home without walking too long. I also saw a kitten, I tried feeding it with some milk I had, but it was shy." Shigeo says and Maddie smiles. "Really now?"

Sheigo. "It didn't drink it until I walked away. I hope I see it again tomorrow. I might name it Aiko." He says and Jack chuckles. "I'm more of a dog person, cats are creepy and don't show any positive emotions."

"They're really not if you think about it. They might not be as expressive as dogs or seem to show happiness like dogs, but they can still feel love and show affection." Sheigo says, "They're just..quiet while doing so..I'm sorry if I'm not making sense."

“No you are." Danny reassures and Shigeo smiles a little. Danny also smiles. This dinner is actually going good. 

"Tomorrow I'll bring it more milk while me and brother get some ice cream." Shigeo says and picks up a spoon. He uses it to scoop up some mash potatoes. "They a peanut butter and chocolate flavor, it has Reeses candy on it. My brother is really excited to try it because it's really hard to find Reeses in Japan-"

Something happens that cuts him off. Something that has everyone's eyes going wide. The spoon in his hand bends down. The potatoes fall out of it of it and land on the plate with a small splat.

Everyone is stares in shock, almost not knowing what to say.

“O-oh god, I'm s-sorry." Shigeo says and drops the spoon. 

"Holy moly!" Jack yells and stands up. He takes a device out of his pocket and rushes over to Sheigo. He puts the device near Shigeo and he eyes get wide. "Maddie, this kid's spiritual energy is nearly off the charts! But it's telling me he's not a ghost." Jack raises his brow at Shigeo. "You're not a ghost right?"

"W-what-"

Maddie is then suddenly near him and she has her own reader. It has a little screen and a light shines from it to scan Shigeo.  The boy winces from the red light getting his face and Danny is starting to get pissed off. Can't they see they're freaking him out.

“His DNA is human, that's good, but his brain waves are so much different from a normal human being's." She gasp in excitement. “Shigeo do you mind if we do some test on you?"

“T-Test?"

"Some blood samples, tissue ones as well, examinations things like that."

“Oh we can get a sample now!" Jack says and goes over to the kitchen drawer. He opens it and digs through it.  He finds what he looking for. A syringe needle.

"Good thing I kept one here just in case. Shigeo’s eyes get wide from seeing the syringe.

"I-I..I need to go!" He says and quickly gets out the chair. He runs out the dining room and soon they hear the front door open and close shut. 

Once he's gone, Danny immediately looks at his parents with anger. “Are..you..Kidding me!? All I ask is for just for one night without you two scaring people off! Great now he's probably going to be too afraid to hang out with me anymore. How are you two incapable of acting like adults!" His eyes flash green with anger for one second and it's getting hard to calm himself down. 

But he takes a deep breath and goes out the dining room, leaving his parents looking guilty.

Jazz sighs. "I can tell this is the last time we have guest." She mumbles. But she looks at the bent spoon on the table. Now her parents had no right to question shigeo like that and getting in his space, but what happened with the soon was strange.

Danny is outside the house, looking for shigeo. He couldn’t have gone too far. While he looks for the other boy, he does wonder about what happened at the dinning room table.

How did that happened in the the first place? Bent spoons do remind him of something. Telekinesis. Is Shigeo a ghost? No that’s ridiculous, that can’t be. He starts to walk around to see if he can find Shigeo, but something makes him stop in his tracks. His ghost sense goes off.

“Fucking Great, just what I need.” He looks around, making sure the coast is clear. He’s about change into his ghost half, but something hits neck causing him to yelp in pain. Whatever it is pierces his neck. He gasp and he immediately starts to feel a change in his body. He pulls out whatever it is in his neck and sees it’s a green and purple tranquilizer. He starts to feel dizzy and light headed. 

“Shit.” He says and starts to kneel to the ground. He groans as the world starts spinning around his him. “Finally, got you right where I want you.”

A voice says and sees two combat boots in front of him. He looks up to see the grinning face of skulker. “Like my new dart? It completely shuts off your powers for few hours.” 

“Skulker.” Danny says with a grunt. “You think can actually stop hunting me and maybe get a fucking life?”

“That’s not going to happened until your pelt is all mine, but unfortunately Vlad needs you right now so that might have to wait.”

Danny’s eyes get a little wide and tries to get up. “What does he want with me?”

“He didn’t tell me, but..” Skulker then kicks Danny in the head, making him shout in pain. His head starts to bleed a little bit. “He wouldn’t mind if I had some fun with you.”

Skulker takes something out from his tool belt and presses a button. The device extends and electricity comes off it, it looks like a high tech cattle prod.

Danny gulps “That’s new, let me guess. A new gift from the fruit loop himself?”

“Yes and it’s my new favorite.” Skulker raises the device and brings it down on Danny. Danny screams in pain as electric shocks go through him. His body starts to tense up and his heart feels like it might stop.

Soon the shock is gone and Danny trembles on the floor. “Let’s see if this baby can leave some permanent scaring.” skulker says and is about to use the device again making Danny flinch. 

But skulker stops in mid swing when he hears a voice.

“I would appreciate it if you stop. You’re hurting him.” 

Skulker looks ahead and sees some mortal boy with a bowl cut.  The kid is looking down, his hand rubbing his arm a bit nervously. Skulker scoffs. “Is this a new annoying mortal friend of yours, welp?” Skulker then laughs “you would have been better off with those other two trying to save you.”

Danny looks to Shigeo with panic in his eyes. “Shigeo run!” 

But the boy doesn’t he just steps closer. “I don’t want to cause something bad to happen.”

“Danny. I’m sorry I ran out like that, I didn’t mean too.” Shigeo then looks at skulker. “Please I’m asking nicely. Let him go, he’s my friend.”

Skulker out right laughs. “You’re asking nicely? Tell me what can an insignificant mortal creature do to a being like me? Go home boy, before I get my attention on you.

“Shigeo it doesn’t matter what happened, just go-Ahh, fuck!” Danny is then hit with the cattle prod again and starts to violently twitch on the floor. He coughs up a mix of echo plasma and blood.

Shigeo stares in horror and looks at the ghost with pleading eyes. “S-Stop, please.” 

“Want me to stop?” Skulker scoffs. “Then do something to make me.” Danny is then stomped on.

“Oh what’s a matter welp? You look like you’re about to cry.” He says mockly as he looks at Danny’s face. His eyes are wet from the tears. His body hurts so much. 

“F-Fuck off.” Danny coughs and he’s kicked in the chest.  Danny feels like he might pass out and tries to crawl away, but he gets another hard kick.

Skular is about to kick the boy again, but he sees the mortal human still standing there. His head hanging low. Skulker rolls his eyes. “Brat can’t you read the room? there’s obviously nothing you can do so-“

“I said stop.”  

Skulker is then stunned when he suddenly sees what’s in front of him. The boy. When did he move?

The boy’s eyes are a bright red. His pupils look small from the anger he’s feeling. His black hair is standing upwards and he puts his hand in front of Skulker’s face. “You want me to read the room?”

“How can I? When I feel this much anger?”

“I asked Nicley the first time for own your sake. You chose not to listen. Don’t expect any type of mercy from me for the next 5 minutes.”

Skulker is almost too deep in fear to move as the kid looks at him with so much animosity, he can feel it radiating off the kid. His eyes are almost devoid of any emotion and Shigeo puts his hand closer to Skulker’s face.

100%

Spiritual energy shines bright from Sheigo’s palm and Skulker tries to move out the way, but it’s too late.  Skulker immediately feels powerful spiritual energy burst out from the kid.

It gets more intense and Sheigo uses his powers to make Danny lift up in the air and levitate near him. Danny looks in complete awe from what’s happening. A force field gets around the two and Shigeo’s power increases. 

Spiritual energy explodes right in front of Skulker. The ground shakes and shatters. His power spreads and makes the concrete a few feet away break completely

A deep crater forms and Sheigo looks down in it to see skulker on his back struggling to get up. “W-who the hell are you brat!?” Skulker ask.

“At the end of the day..nobody.” Shigeo simply says before he makes another explosion happen with his power. 

Chapter Text

"This place is a gold mine." A man says with an excited grin on his face.

The man has blonde hair and is in some causal clothes. A corgi T-shirt and some jeans. He's eating a burger from this fast food place called the Nasty Burger. It's a little too greasy, but not bad. Plus it is cheap.

"There are so many clients me and Mob can get here." He says while he looks at different new stories of ghost haunting on his phone.

"Now there's just the matter of the competition." He mumbles. He's heard that there are a ghost hunters here in this town as well. But he grins confidently. "But they won't be able to compete with my prices and services. Now I was thinking I can maybe get that nasty burger place to sponsor me a little. Nothing big. I just need them to provide me with coupons I can give to clients after their service."

The man thinks of more ideas for his business and his thoughts get cut off when he hears an explosion and the ground shakes a little underneath him.

He drops his burger from being startled and he sighs.

"I hope that's not mob." He doesn't want his pupil being stressed on his first day here.

skulker is thrown across the street from the boy's power.

He hits a parked truck and curses from the damage he takes. Meanwhile Shigeo looks to Danny. "Are you okay?" Danny winces from the aches in his body, but nods.

Skulker stands up and glares at the two, but then smirks. "Perhaps this is a good thing, I've been meaning to look for more prey to hunt. You and the ghost's child pelts will look good on my wall."

"You hunt people?" Shigeo says and gives a brief look of disgust

"Only when they're rare and you must be rare." Skulker raises his fist. A Sharp blade comes out and he goes lunging at the boys.

But as soon as he gets close, Sheigo uses his powers to not only cut the blade, but Skular’s whole hand. The hunter looks in horror from what just happened and before he could think, Shigeo flys to him and pushes his palm towards him.

A powerful force sends Skulker to the ground with a crash. Another hole forms under him. "Where did this child even get this much power?" The hunter grunts.

He makes missile launchers sprouts from his back and the missiles launch out at a frightening speed. Danny gasp and flinches, thinking they’re about to get hit, but Shigeo simply sends them back towards the hunter.

"You gotta be fucking kiddin-" Skulker starts but doesn't get to finish due to his own missiles hitting him.

"Woah. Nice uno reverse, dude." Danny says.

Skulker comes out of the smoke from the blast and looks at Shigeo with anger .His suite is damaged, malfunctioning and cracked "You put up a good challenge for me, forget a pelt from you. I think the head would be better." He flys towards the two again.

But instead getting to fully attack the two boys he hits the force field and shigeo’s powers blast right in his face and causes him to shout with pain. Skulker then feels something cut through him.

He looks at his other arms and then his legs, they've been cut cuff completely, his limbless body crashes into the wall of building.

"I need to get out of here. This brat is too fucking insane." He mumbles. "System, activate emergency flight."

A pair of jet like wings sprout from his back, but he doesn't even get to use them because they automatically get sliced off. "Shit!" He says and then a sneaker stomps on his face.

"You think I'm going to let you get away? I said I wouldn't show you any mercy." Skulker looks at the teen and is frozen in fear from the cold look he's receiving. The kid's eyes are filled with nothing but rage.

Shigeo raises his foot and stomps down on Skulker, his power makes the concrete break and Skulker sinks into it. "You think you get to hunt others while being so weak?" Shigeo’s eyes flash bright white and his powers starts to make Skulker’s suit break apart piece by pieces.

"You'e not a hunter, just a bully. You relay on all this stuff to make you seem bigger than you are." More pieces of Skular's suit comes off and floats in the air.

"You wanna pick on others unprovoked? You better make sure you're ready to deal with the consequences."

Soon the pieces off the suit fall to the ground and all that's left is a little green ghost who looks angry, but at the same time scared.

"You can't do this to me, whelp! I am Skulker! world's greatest hunter and now you will forever be my-"

Shigeo just touches the ghost with one finger and it’s eyes get wide.

"You are nothing." Shigeo says in an eerily calm voice. The ghost then screams in agony before combusting from being exorcised.

Shigeo sighs and starts to deactivate his powers. His hair gets back to normal and he gently puts Danny on the floor. He sits by Danny and looks at him with concerned. "Can you move you yet?"

"Not much. Thank you..for saving me."

Shiego nods. "Do you want me to get your parents?"

"No!" Danny shouts, but quickly calms himself down. "They'll ask too many questions."

"Well I'm not sure if I can bring you back to my house." Mob tries to think of an idea, but he hears a voice.

"Oi mob! what are you doing out so late? It's a school night." Shigeo turns his head to the side and sees a blonde man approaching him.

"Shishou?" Mob says. "What are you doing here."

The man lets out a nervous chuckle and rubs his neck. "Well I just wanted to expand my business that's all. I totally didn't follow you here after you told me you were moving, this is just a coincidence."

"Oh." Mob says and he believes his master. He then smiles. "But it's good that you're here. I won't have to..talk in interviews for another job. It makes me nervous."

"Look mob you can't be employed to me forever, soon you gotta go out and have a better career. But if you still wanna work for me for now, then that's no problem."

Mob nods and then quickly remembers Danny. "Master, I need help. My friend, he's hurt."

"Huh?" Reigen says and looks down at the kid mob is talking about. Danny coughs a little and shivers. Reigen can see some bruises on him and gets down on one knee. "Kid you alright? where's your parents, do I need to call them?"

"N-No." Reigen sighs. "Look kid, I'm not sure if I can do anything-"

"Please Shishou. We'll deal with both of our parents later, right now he needs to be somewhere safe." Mob says with a pleading look.

Reigen sighs again before carfully getting Danny in his arms. "Alright let's go to my place." He says and Mob smiles. "Thank you Shishou."

"Yeah, yeah but your friend here owes me after this."

The next time Danny wake ups, he's in unfamiliar place. It looks like a small office. Complete with a desk, little loudge area and posters of special purchase plans.

He then feels something getting on his shoulder. "Huh?" He says and looks to left to see some type of pink dust getting on him.

"The hell?" He says.

"Hey kid, keep still I wanna make sure no evil ghost get to you this time." Danny looks up and sees a man grating a chuck of salt on him.

"Um..thanks, but I think the salt thing is a myth."

"Oh. Maybe I should switch to holy water then." He says with consideration. "I just hope it's not expensive. Hey Mob your friend is awake."

"Mob?" Danny says and then sees Shigeo coming in with a tray that has two cups of tea and a box of donuts. "Danny!" He says with relief on his face. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine." He then notices he has bandages on.

"Hopefully I did a good job at those." The blonde man says. He applied these? "What time is it?" He ask and Shigeo looks at his phone. "8:00am."

"8:00? Shit I gotta get to school." Danny mumbles and starts to get up, but the blonde man puts a hand on his to gently sit him back down. "Woah easy kid, you were pretty banged up."

"Don't worry I'll be fine." His ghost powers should heal him soon. "I just gotta explain why I didn't come back in last night to my parents."

"Well you two get there safely. Eat some donuts and drink some tea before going." The blonde man says and Danny nods. "Thanks Mr..."

The man smirks before whipping something out of his pocket. A business card. Danny takes it and reads what it says.

“Reigen Arataka. Talented spiritual specialist at your service.” Danny reads out loud. “So you’re like..a ghost hunter?”

“Ghost hunter? I’m not crazy. If a client wants me and mob to get rid of a ghost we’ll do it. I don’t go out my way to chase them as a hobby. Plus I provide other services such as letting people talk to dead relatives, curse lifting, house blessing and sometimes simple advice.”

“Oh. So you’re more..traditional.” Danny says.

“I suppose.” Reigen says with a shrug. “Are there people like me who aren’t traditional when it comes to ghost?”

“Well yeah. Instead of using things like salt they use um..weapons. Very high tech ones.” Reigen gives an unimpressed look. “Weapons? Look kid I’m not going to invest in things like that. What if I accidentally hurt someone? Weapons are unnecessary in this line of work, plus I tend to shy away from violence.”

“But, Shishou you’ve dropped kicked people.” Mob says and Reigen tenses a little. “ Only in self defense, Mob. But anyway you two get to school safely.”

Both Danny and Mob nod. Danny gets up and grabs a donut from the table and mob grabs some tea. “Oh and Kid.” Reigen says and Danny turns around.

“Yeah?”

Reigen smirks. “You now owe me one favor, I can submit it at anytime of my choosing. It’s only fair since I helped you out.”

Danny rolls his eyes a little. “Sure.” He says and walks out with Shigeo.

As they walk together Shigeo looks at Danny with worry and curiosity. “Why was that ghost after you?” Danny gets a little nervous and looks down to the floor. “It..it sounds crazy, but..before I do tell you, can you tell me how you did all that stuff to Skulker?”

“I’m an esper. I have psychic abilities that allow me to deal with spirits.”

“D-Do you hate spirits?” Danny ask with nervousness in his voice.

“No. I just don’t like the ones that cause harm to others out of malicious intent. Now..can I know why he was after you?”

Danny takes a deep breath and nods.

“I’m part ghost.”

Chapter Text

When Danny and Shigeo get to school they're walking in first period as Mr.Lancer is right in the middle of teaching.

He stops reading from the text book to look at Danny and Shigeo. He gives a look of annoyance and concern. “Boys. You’re late. Now Mr.Fenton I’m not too suprised that this has happened again with you, but Mr.Kageyama I was hoping you would start off your second day well like the first one.”

“O-Oh um..I..” Shigeo tries to think of an explanation, but luckily Danny is able to do so. “Sorry Mr.Lancer, I took some extra time to walk Shigeo to school, he got lost since he’s still new to town.”

Mr.Lancer now looks a little surprise. “Oh, well that was very kind of you Mr.Fenton. For today I’ll let both you off with a warning. For now sit and I’ll continue with the lesson.” They both nod and head to their desk.  “Thanks.” Shigeo whispers and Danny nods.

3 miles away from Casper high

Casper Middle school. 

Ritsu Kageyama is sitting at his desk in his third year middle school class. Its first period and first period class is economics. At the moment Ritsu is on his phone sending a text to his brother, asking him if everything is alright.

Ritsu: Nii-San are you okay? I basically had to cover you last night and tell mom and dad you were spending the night at your new friend’s house.

Ritsu sends the text. It takes a few minutes but he gets a text back.

Shigeo: Thanks Ritsu and don’t worry I’m fine, I’ll see you when I get home

Suddenly the class room door opens and the class looks to it, expecting to see the same teacher they had yesterday, but it’s someone completely different. A man with silver hair tied in a pony tail. He’s wearing a black suit and red bolo tie. 

When he steps into the room, Ritsu can immediately feel his aura. There’s something..off about it. The man clears his throat and gives a smile.

“Why hello all you bright futures of tomorrow. As you know I’m Vlad masters, mayor of amityvill and owner of Vladco.”

One student raises their hand before asking “where’s Mr.Andrews?”

“He’s taking the day off, since I volunteered to teach. I am an expert at economics since I am a business man. A successful one at that.”

Ritsu raises his hand. 

“Yes young man? Also named please.”

“Ritsu Kageyama. I’ve read about Vladco. You guys make..weapons. Also wasn’t your company in hot water after it was discovered you guys unnecessarily euthanized security dogs to replace them with advanced AI security systems?”

Vlad gives a bit of a nervous chuckle. “Well we only make weapons for ghost and as for the dogs that was just a rumor.”

“Sure.” Ritsu mumbles. “So why are you teaching? You’re the mayor aren’t you? No offense, but isn’t there something a bit more important you can be doing? Are you doing this for more votes and approval ratings?”

“Who the hell is this brat?” Vlad thinks as he goes behind the desk.

The kid’s eyes don’t leave him for a second and Vlad is starting to find the kid creepy. “Oh nothing like that, I just want to help my community as much as possible. Now how about we tone down the questions?”

“We’re in school. We’re supposed to ask questions.”  The boy says with a hint of attitude in his voice. 

“Little shit.” Vlad thinks. 

“Well yes, that is true. But for now we’ll save the questions after the lesson, Mr.Kageyama.”

Ritsu rolls his eyes a little before opening his backpack to take out his notebook, textbook and his pen. Vlad goes through the lesson plan the teacher left for him and is about to tell the students to open their textbooks until he sees something strange. 

The creepy brat puts down his book bag after getting everything he needs and the zipper of the book bag moves by its self to zip close. Vlad’s eyes get a little wide after witnessing that. How did he do that? Is the child a ghost..or half ghost?

When the boy thinks no one is paying attention he slightly moves his finger and his pen on his desk rolls over to his hand so he can grab it.

Vlad’s thoughts are cut off when there’s a knock at his door. “Excuse me for a moment, class.” He says and goes to the door to step out the room. He closes the door behind him and in the hallway with him is one of his minions. A ghost vulture.

“What is it? How many times do I have to tell you guys not to bother me during my day job.” He says with annoyance in his tone.

“We know, but we have a problem.”

“Problem?” 

The ghost nods and stops flying to rest his wings. “ Skulker was taken out when retrieving the ghost kid.”

“Damn it. Find him and tell him to get back on the job.”

“Well..um here’s the thing. We can’t find him. The only thing left of him is his suit which is now in pieces.”

“What?” Vlad ask and then curses. “What did Daniel do to defeat him this time?”

“Actually..it wasn’t the ghost kid. It was another child with abilities. I saw everything that happened and the kid’s spiritual energy was off the charts. He barely moved to defeat Skular.”

Vlad is almost confused. How on earth…wait. The child in his class. Could he have been with Danny last night and defeated skulker? Vlad needs to keep a close eye on this kid. He thinks a little bit more and smirks. Maybe he can take him under his wing instead of daniel.  He’s younger than Danny, so it be easier to manipulate him.

“Anything else to report?” Vlad ask and The ghost vulture shakes his head. 

“Then you may leave, see if you can find skulker in the meantime, I’ll take care of the other problem.” The vulture nods and quickly goes  through the wall. 

“Looks like Daniel made a new friend. Too bad I’ll have to take him away.” Vlad says with a smirk.

After class the students are putting away their bookss and supplies so they can get ready to go to the next class. 

“Well students I hope you enjoyed today’s lesson and please feel free to see me if you need any help understanding the course material.” The students nod and head out the door. 

Vlad watches them leave and when the boy from earlier is about to leave, Vlad gets his attention. “Mr.Kageyama may I talk to you for a second?”

Ritsu looks back at the man and nods. Once the students leave, Vlad goes over to Ritsu and smiles. “You impressed me today, Mr.Kageyama. Not only did you get a perfect score on the assignment sheet I gave out today, but you’re not afraid to speak your mind. You’re very bright for someone your age.”

“Gee thanks.” Ritsu mumbles. “Not to be rude or anything Mr.Masters, but I should be getting to my next class.”

“Yes, but you have a few minutes. So how old are you?”

“13.”

“Hm, you do have to be a little older for what I’m about to offer, but I guess I can make an exception. How would you like to be part of a paid internship, you be working for me.”

“For you?” Ritsu ask with a raise brow and Vlad nods while giving a smile, but Ritsu can see it’s fake. “Now once you join you will have too..be less open with your thoughts. Once you get in the grown up world fully, you are expected to follow the rules. I can prepare you for that. I can lead you down a successful career path, under my wing you’ll have so many doors open for you.”

Vlad than puts a hand on Ritsu's shoulder. “Your future will be bright and all you have to do is just let me be your guide.”

Ritsu gives an unimpressed look. “That offer sounds tempting, but..”Ritsu than grabs Vlad’s wrist.

The spiritual energy that Vlad feels is absolutely overwhelming and strong. “But I don’t work for people who only choses to do good to benefit themselves.” Ritsu says and his expression gets dark. He gives Vlad a menacing look and Vlad feels a little uneasy.

“Find some other kid to fool.” With that Ritsu takes Vlad’s off his shoulder and lets it go. Ritsu starts to walk out the classroom and Vlad only stands there, trying to figure out what just happened.

“So how did you..become part ghost?” Shigeo ask. Right now him and Danny are sitting at a table together. It’s lunch time and both of them decided to sit together again. To talk about what they confessed to each other.

“Well..it was a lab accident. My dad made a ghost portal and I got curious. I wanted to see how it worked. I went inside of it. Unfortunately I accidentally turned it on and it activated. My dna got mixed with spectral energy..so yeah.”

Shigeo looks at him with awe before asking “can I see?”

“Oh um..sure.” Danny says. He looks around and once he sees no one is paying attention he turns his hand invisible and makes it go through the table.  

Shigeo stares in amazement. “Cool.” He says and Danny is surprise to hear him say that. “You think so?”

“I wish I can turn invisible. That way when I’m in uncomfortable situations I can vanish.” 

“That’s what I mainly use it for.” Danny says with a chuckle. “How did you get your powers?”

Shigeo shrugs while he fiddles with a straw in his milk carton. “I was just born with them to be honest. Sometimes I wish..I think my life would be a bit easier if I didn’t have my abilities.”

Danny looks at the other boy with sympathy. Most of the time Danny feels like his powers are really a curse. He misses being a normal teen who didn’t have to worry about fighting ghost, 24/7.

“Can you sense other ghost?” Shigeo ask and Danny nods.  “What about people’s auras?”

“Auras? Well..yeah I can. But I turn that ability off. It’s too overwhelming.”

“It was like that for me too, but it comes in handy. Try it.” 

Danny looks a little nervous, but he takes a deep breath. He closes his eyes and concentrates. After a few seconds he starts to feel something. Different energies through out the room. He opens his eyes and can pratically read everyone’s auras. 

It’s almost too much. His eyes flash green from the sensitivity and he feels like his some of powers might go off, but Shigeo puts a hand on his shoulder and gives a kind smile.

“It’s okay. I know it’s hard to get used too, but don’t let it overwhelm you.” He says and Danny’s stares in awe at the other boy.

His aura is the strongest one he’s ever felt. He wonders how powerful is the other teen is.
