That palace of Kingdom Nihachu was quiet, which was not uncommon for the time. It was late, the sun had already set, and the hallways and rooms were lit by candlelight. Cooks would be cleaning up after the last meals they made, guards would patrol the many hallways and entrances, and servants scurried about with various tasks around the castle.
Niki was dressed in her nightgown – a simple white and lacy thing, made from pure silk. As a Queen, she was afforded such luxuries. She was tucked into her canopy bed, the curtains drawn back, and some tastefully adorable plushies sharing her space. It was a lovely space, perfect for a Queen.
But there was just one thing missing from her bedtime routine.
“Guards!” Niki called out, “Read me my bedtime yuri!”
There was a shuffle outside her door as two of her guards entered her bedroom. Philza, a master marksman, was the older of the two. He was blond, and often wore green and black clothes under his armor. Notably he also had two large black wings, like a crow. The other guard was Technoblade. Technoblade was a warrior who mainly forced on bladed weaponry, towering over all the guards. He had pink hair, and liked to wear red, with a thick red cloak tossed over his armor.
“My liege, if you keep having all of the guards come to your bedroom to read you bedtime stories, there will be no one to actually guard the castle during that time,” Philza pointed out with a strained smile.
Niki hummed thoughtfully before she smiled, “Any intruders are welcome to join us for story time.”
Technoblade sighed, exasperated, “My liege, the enemies to lovers yuri is affecting your perception of the danger of real enemies.”
“When will it be my turn?” Niki pouted up at her guards.
Philza made an amused noise at that question, while Technoblade patted her comfortingly on the back.
