Chapter Text

Yuuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguros closest friend.

Yuuji : "Hey Megumi!!" He said with a smile. It's a warm sunny day and they're on their training break. Yuuji, all sweaty and warm, ran over to Megumi. Who was standing under the overhang -- hitting the vending machine to get his water.
Megumi : "No."
Yuuji : "I haven't even said anything yet?"
Megumi : "Absolutely not." Megumi's eyes darted around, looking Yuuji up and down. Sweat dripped from Yuuji's pink spiked hair. Some of his hair stuck to his forehead with sweat. His shirt going see-through from sweat. Mainly his upper chest and back. Megumi ran his pale hands through his dark, black hair. Closing his eyes and taking a deep sigh.
Yuuji : "...sooo-"
Megumi : "Shut up and get to your point."
Yuuji : " Alright, Alright! So, want to come with Nobara and I to see a movie? I somehow convinced her to join if I carry her shopping for a week!"
Megumi : "No."
Yuuji : "But why, you don't even know what kind of movie!"
Megumi : "Human Earthworm 6?"
Yuuji : "Dang it."
As Yuuji stole a sip of Megumi's water he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He glanced down at his pocket and with a flick of his wrist span his phone right side up in his hand. Seeing a message from a unknown and unsaved number he got curious. He saved all the numbers in his phone? Who is this?

??? : "Hello, Itadori!" Yuuji stared down at his phone screen. He's confused, who is this? It's not a scammer, they said his name. Maybe one of his friends are trolling. Maybe somebody has the wrong number, surely? After all, Itadori is a common name, right? His thumbs quickly shifted across the screen, typing.
Yuuji : "Sorry, wrong number!!!" His phone buzzed again.

??? : "No, no it's not the wrong number, Yuuji Itadori."

Okay now this HAS to be a joke. This person MUST be messing with him, right?

Yuuji : "I'm sorry, who are you?"
??? : "Somebody you know."

Yuuji glanced up at Megumi. Worried, and confused. Megumi was just scrolling on his phone. Probably consuming some sort of short form media. Yuuji wipes some sweat off his forehead. Break is almost over. Megumi noticed the mild distress on Yuuji's face, worried for his friend he speaks up. His voice laced with concern.

Megumi : "Hey, Yuuji, what's wrong???
Yuuji : "Oh, it's nothing, don't worry about me Megumi."
Megumi : "No, something is making you uneasy. I can see it on your face."
Yuuji : "Is it really that obvious??"

After a moment of silence, Yuuji clutched his phone tighter in his grip. Feeling it buzz again. He closed his eyes tightly and looked back at the screen. Another message from this unknown number.

??? : " Don't ignore me, Itadori."

Yuuji stared down at his phone. Reading the message twice. This person has to be crazy, how did they know his name? Megumi finally got sick of Yuujis secretive bullshit and snatched the phone from his hand. Making Yuuji jump, not expecting it.

Megumi : "Just ignore them, or you could always just block them, Yuuji."
Yuuji : "But they know my name? They know my genuine full name that's weird Megumi!!!"
Megumi : "And? Just ignore them..."
Yuuji: "Fine, your right, I will but if they keep messaging me odd things i'm gonna ask"

Megumi : "Fine."

Chapter Text

Megumi, Yuuji and Nobara are off their little training break Gojo gives them once every hour.

Gojo : "Megumi, Yuuji!! Nobara! Get of your phones come back to the field!!" He exclaimed, making sure its known that their break has ended.
Meanwhile over with the students..,

Megumi : "Come on Yuuji, Gojo's calling us over."
Yuuji : "I'm coming don't worry about me Megumi!!" Megumi looked Yuuji up and down. Offering him one last sip of his water, Yuuji grabs the bottle with a smile.
Yuuji : "Thanks!" Yuuji gave one of his signature goofy grins and ran off past Megumi over towards Gojo. Megumi watched as he ran over past him, he gently shook his head and chuckled. Classic Yuuji always so joyous and carefree. How Yuuji did it, he could never know.

Gojo's training consisted of the usual, fighting some weak curses, learning more about weak points, all that stuff. By the end of the day, the whole trio was tired out but still down to relax together. The three went to Yuuji's dorm after the lesson ended. It's currently sunset and 7:21PM, the three are currently in a heated match of Uno.

Nobara : "UNO!!" She exclaimed with a playful smirk.
Yuuji : "Hey.. not fair, she went first when we started so of course SHE has Uno first!!" Yuuji argued with a pout. Megumi shook his head.
Megumi : "Is it really that serious? It's just a game of uno." He said as he placed a 'skip the next person's turn' card.
Yuuji & Nobara : "JUST A GAME OF UNO? Are you out of your mind?! This isn't just Uno this is WAR!!" The two said in unison.
Megumi : "Alright, alright no need to lecture me, this isn't Uno it's war.. I get it.." He mumbled with a sigh.
Yuuji : "Good!"

After Uno came watching random movies. As always, Yuuji was first to recommend one of the hundreds of movies he's watched. From romance, to thriller to slice of life movies.

Nobara : "Do we really need to watch a movie tonight? Aren't we going to see one tomorrow?"
Megumi : "She's not wrong, Itadori."
Yuuji : "Yeah, but what's so bad about watching one tonight and another on the big screen tomorrow?"
Megumi : "Nothing, but I think I agree with nobara on this one. After i see one movie I don't need to see another one the following day."
Nobara : "That's not what i meant but interesting thing to know, Megumi!!"
Megumi : "Oh shut up."
Yuuji : "Fine, then what do we do?"
Nobra : "Ghost stories? Don't you have one of those demon summoning boards?"
Yuuji : "Yeah but--"
Megumi : "What if we accidentally bring a curse into here? No thanks."
Nobara : "You two pussies are no fun!"
Yuuji : "Hey, i'm plenty fun!"

Megumi rolled his eyes, going to look down at his phone. Seeing a text from Yuuji that he missed earlier. It's when before he asked him in person to go to the movies. Maybe he should unmute his messages with Yuuji. He then noticed the file under the message, it's probably the movie tickets. He tapped the file, opening it. His screen fell asleep for a moment, not a issue. He turned his phone back on as the file secretly hid in his phone software. Megumi, unaware just turned his phone off, after all what else would Yuuji send him? He trusts Yuuji, kind of.

Chapter Text

Today is the day Yuuji, Megumi and Nobara are going to see Human Earthworm Six.

Yuuji : "I can't wait guys!! Do you know how long i've been waiting for this?!?! This is like a dream come true!!" He squealed, he's really a big fanboy of this series then. Yuuji was practically running out of the car. Jumping, skipping, all joyous and jolly. The theatre looked like the average outdoor movie theater, maybe a bit old fashioned but they've got the newer movies and decent quality. Megumi rolled his eyes, he didn't really care. He was only here to get Yuuji to shut up. They found a seat at a good distance from the screen and got comfy. Yuuji looked around and noticed a vendor selling snacks, since Yuuji dragged them along he offered to buy them some snack to make it bearable. Megumi and Nobara looked at each other and nodded.

Nobara : " Snacks on you? Really?"
Megumi : "Yuuji don't be irrational."
Yuuji : "Hey, i'm being serious here!"
Nobara : "Well now that's a first.." She snickered, her hand gently covering her mouth as she glanced over at Megumi who was sighing and shaking his head in disapproval.
Yuuji : "HEY! Rude much?!" He pouted and crossed his arms.
Megumi : "Both of you please stop acting so childishly, it's embarrassing." He muttered.

Fifteen Minutes Later

Yuuji was staring down at his phone, seeing the messages from the number is back. Yuuji was genuinely getting sick of these random messages.

Megumi : "Hey, focus on the movie Yuuji. After all, you brought us here."
Yuuji : "Sorry, I know it's just.."
Nobara : "Yuuji ,what happened? Why're you staring at your phone?"
Yuuji : "Nothing, it's nothing don't worry!" Yuuji shoved his phone in his pocket. Then, Megumi reaches over Yuuji and snatches his phone from his pocket.
Megumi : "I'll hold onto this for now."

Yuuji : "Seriously, I said it's fine!" He exclaimed, mildly pouting.
Nobara : "Just shut up and pay attention to the movie already."
Yuuji : "Alright, alright!" He sighed, looking back up at the large projector screen.

The three sat through the movie. Watching the the film, seeing as the actors played out their parts on the tape. It was a chilly night, the wind breezing through their hair every so often. Not crazy humid so it was cold and dry, perfect night to be indoors, but whatever. Whatever gets the three to hangout more. Recently Megumi's noticing Yuujis been more.. distant. Yuuji's been separating himself from the trio. Not that he's completely gone but, he talks less. Even when at the doors that night, Yuuji didn't talk exactly like himself. Megumi feels Yuuji's phone buzz in his pocket. Who the f**k would be texting him at 9pm? Whatever, wasn't his business. He dropped the ideas and concerns.

Chapter Text

"He's Late. Again, this is the third time this week." Gojo stared up at the sky before looking over at Megumi and Nobara, who are standing side by side at the vending machines.

Yuuji's been out for what felt like weeks, but in reality it's been three days since he's shown to class, what's gotten into him?

Gojo pondered for a while before hearing the timer on his phone ring. He frowned softly as he approached his students, but it didn't feel the same without Yuuji. He spoke up loud so Nobara and Megumi heard him, "Megumi, Nobara, have you guys spoken to Yuuji recently? He's called out sick for 3 days straight-- and it's never even him calling!!" He said with furrowed eyebrows, concern and worry etched into his expression. Megumi and Nobara glance at one another, frowning slightly. "No, we haven't spoken to him since the movies a few nights back." Megumi spoke up first. Nobara quickly jumped in, "I actually did see him last night slipping out his dorm to grab a box?" Gojo turned to look at Nobara directly, "What-- that's not.. possible? There wasn't any registered packages sent in to his dorm recently?" He said with a slightly stern tone. " Maybe it was from someone on campus, nothing would be able to sneak past the schools barriers. Even if it could the system surely would've noticed it by now." Megumi said with concern slowly dripping into his expression and voice. Gojo paused for a bit, thinking for a little. "Has anyone tried texting or calling him?" He asked. Both Megumi and Nobara shook their heads. He frowned further, getting slightly frustrated. "Has none of you went to go check on him?" Gojo questioned. "We tried but the door's always locked or he just never replies." Megumi spoke, Nobara started to worry it just settled in that their friend isn't doing well. Gojo was quiet for a moment before silently handing Noaba and Megumi a set of keys. "Go check on him after class, i've got a meeting so i can't."

Megumi and Nobara stood, facing each other. Usually Nobara trained on a training dummy and Megumi and Yuuji trained together. This felt weird, how are they supposed to adjust their routine to one without Yuuji?

It's been two days since i've opened that vial I feel sick. Disgustingly sick, I don't want my friends to catch whatever I caught. Maybe it was in that vial, but nobody would send me anything strange, it'd have to be approved by Jujitsu Tech, right? I sit in bed staring down at my phone, i can't look away it's the only thing keeping me up. I haven't slept in since the vial. What was that vial? I wish I knew, if only i payed more attention in Chemistry that's gotta be a chemical. But what kind of chemical is some sort of clear gas that gets people like this? Why would someone send me this? I'm so confused, I feel my body go numb. I'm so tired, maybe if I close my eyes for a little bit..

Knock, knock--.. the sound of keys jingling, the sound of the door hinges moving for the first time in days.

"Yuuji--Yuujjiiiiiii!!" Nobara called out before spotting ill Yuuji lying in bed with hooded eyes.
Nobara : "Yuuji, we've been worried sick about you! Are you o-"
Yuuji : "Get out."
Nobara : "What-- what are you talking abo--"
Yuuji : "I said, Get Out."
Nobara : "But I came to check in on you."
Yuuji : "If you really cared enough to check you'd also care enough to get out."
Nobara : "But-.."
Yuuji : "I SAID GET OUT DAMMIT."
Nobara quickly lifted her hands in defense and slowly walked out with worry and a tinge of fear.

Nobara : "Okay, okay-- i'm leaving, alright?"
She closed the door.

Chapter Text

"GOJO, MEGUMI!! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Nobara yelled out, bolting towards Megumi's dorm.
Megumi : "Nobara it can NOT be this serious."
Nobara : "It is, It's about Yuuji. He's acting different."
Megumi : "Oh really, thanks Mrs.Obvious.."
Nobara : "Don't, i'm being genuinely serious.
Megumi : "I'm sure you are."
Megumi took the dorm keys from Nobara, "i'll check on him in an hour, stop being dramatic." Megumi rolled his eyes.

Nobara frowned and shook her head, "I'm not being dramatic-" Walking past her, Megumi hit her in the back of the head. "FUSHIGURO!" Megumi snickered, "Shut up Kugisaki."

Megumi was wandering about till he remembered the keys in his pocket. "I wonder.., how's Yuuji holding up? Was Nobara really just being dramatic? Probably, she's always such a drama queen." His thoughts paced through his mind as he finds himself stopping Infront of a familiar dorm. Megumi knocked on the door. "YUUJI."
He paused, waiting for some sort of reply.

Megumi : "Hey, Yuuji i'm coming in."
Megumi : " 3... 2... 1..."
He twisted the key into the lock, he gently grabbed the handle. He pulled the handle to the right and pushing forward to open the door. His eyes shot across the room, looking around. The rooms dark and lingers with a rotting like scent, But Megumi ignored it. The poster on his wall near his bed in curling and falling down. The windows are closed shut with the blinds in effect. One little source of light illuminates the room. Yuuji's phone sitting on the ground in the middle of the room, three cracks running down the screen. The display on the screen flickered before going out. Megumi finally looked over at Yuuji, scanning what he could see. His usual pink hair is all scruffed. His shirt stretched slightly from laying on it too long. He was pale, and he looked so tired despite being asleep."

Megumi : "Yuuji?.." He mumbled
Megumi : "Are you asleep or dead..?"
He stepped into the room fully, leaving the door slightly open for some sort of light. He placed a hand on Yuuji forehead, he was cold. But definitely not dead, he moved a hand down to Yuuji's chest. His cheeks flushed a bit but he quickly refocused. "He's asleep, that's no doubt.. I'll check on him later."

Megumi noticed Nobara peeking in through the crack in the door.

Megumi : "Spying is a crime, y'know."
Nobara : "I'm not spying .., i'm just-"
Megumi : "-Just worried? C'mon i told he's fine. He's asleep right now though."
Nobara : "So.. you gonna check on him later?"
Megumi : "Yeah, i'm a bit concerned though. despite lying in bed so long he's really cold."
Nobara : "Do you think he's?..."
Megumi : "No, not at all. He's got a pulse, a strong one too."
Nobara : "Okay well.."
Gojo : "If you two are gonna chat, don't chat where he's sleeping."
Megumi : " Where the hell.."
Nobara : "WHAT THE F... WHERE DID YOU COME FRO--"

Megumi covered Nobara's mouth and frowned.

Megumi : "He's.Asleep."
Gojo : "Both of you, take your conversation outside. Nobara don't yell."

Chapter Text

My phone won't stop ringing, the buzzing of messages. The reminder people exist hurts me, the idea of me getting my friends like this. This hurts me, so-- so bad.

??? : "Take the vial, Yuuji. It'll all stop. It'll finally shut up."

Messages danced across the screen. One , Two , Three. I toss my phone to the center of the room and rip open the box the original vial was in. He ripped the other layer of foam from the old vial to find a little red vial. I genuinely can't stand this. I popped open the vial an instantly downed the red liquid. It tasted horrible but oh well. What's there to do? Turning off the phone doesn't stop it. It just turns back on. I've tried everything I know.

My phone rings once more. Waking me up, it's another text from Megumi. I'm not gonna read it, i can't deal with people right now. Where's that red vial I took? Was that a dream? That felt too real. I need more time off.., Gojo wouldn't give me detention over another day out-- would he? Why am I questioning this! Of course he wouldn't! I wonder what Megumi sent me. He's so annoying-- what the hell am I on today? Today.. is it even day? I haven't left my dorm in days.

Megumi's phone buzzed.

??? : "Hello Fushiguro."

Megumi : "Do i know you?" He quickly typed back-- his fingers gliding across the screen.
??? : "Not yet, Dear."
Megumi : "wtf"
??? : "What?"
Megumi : "Tell me who this is or you're getting blocked."
??? : "You can't block me, i'll always find you my love."
Megumi , instead of replying-- blocked the contact.

Gojo : "Megumi! Break's over, back to training!"
Megumi : "Right." He muttered, shoving his phone aside.

Megumi : "I'll be right over."
Gojo : "Good."

The bell rang, Nobara's standing in front of Megumi. Preparing to sparr-- Nobara paused.

Nobara : "You seem off, what's up?" She said in her usual condescending attitude.
Megumi : "It's nothing, C'mon, you ready?
Nobara : "Yeah."

Megumii went for the first strike-- it was short lived as Nobara was caught staring at something. Someone..-- Yuuji? Nobara fell to the ground ,Megumi frowned before he noticed Yuuji.

Megumi : "Yuuji?"
