Summary:

"You limp towards the door, every step is agony and you feel exhausted, your vision goes blurry once more but you continue to the door, determined."

Readers will get to vote on this story, choices will be displayed at the end of the chapter, more details in Author's note.

"There are no happy endings, because nothing ever ends" - The Last Unicorn (1982)

Chapter 1: First choices

Notes:

As stated in the summary you get choices at the end, if I think a guest is just spamming what they want on different names I will set it to registered users only, if you want to vote for a person who proposed a new idea then comment under their comment or put their name and the idea so I know who it is, I will try to update frequently but I'm slower than a sloth on life support sometimes but hopefully not having to choose some things will help, and yes you just comment the letter or idea you want in the comments, I'm too lazy to make a poll in an alternate place

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Blurs of colors danced through your mind, swirling in delicate patterns and designs.

Every now and then they would solidify and images of someone's life would flash into your view.

Playing in the snow

Ice skating

Guitar lessons

Staying up late reading

The memories kaleidoscoped through your mind in beautiful vibrant colors, woven together to create years of life that passed by you in mere seconds.

You couldn't help but be enamored by the colors and curious about who you were seeing.

Panic ran through you as the colors dimmed and pain spread throughout you.

The once bright and lively colors turned sickly grays and deep blacks, memories no longer appeared in colorful hues and your whole being filled with pain.

Cold

You were freezing as you jolted awake, bright light flooded your view in agonizing rays and the air was frigid, you were surprised the lights didn't have icicles hanging from them.

You winced from the lights and snapped your eyes closed again to try and alleviate the ache.

Out of habit you try to reach up to rub your eyes but you come to realize you are being held down by thick leather straps, and….

You can see your bones?

You no longer feel how your eyes burn as you are shocked awake by this revelation, you are entirely bones, but you can still move.

You immediately survey your surroundings, it seems you are strapped to a metal table in the center of a completely white room, except for a singular black box in the upper corner of the right side of the room and a door on the wall directly in front of you.

Panicking you struggle to gather your thoughts, but you try your best to pull together your best ideas.

A: Try to struggle out of your
bindings

B: Scream

C: Wait patiently

D: Continue freaking out about your appearance

E: (?)

Notes:

E is to represent a possible answer someone could suggest the rest are just random ones I thought of, I know it's short but I wanted to go ahead and get a choice out there for you, future chapters will hopefully be longer unless I see another choice for people to make.

This was just a random thought of mine and if no one comments the story won't go anywhere, so I encourage you to reply with your answer, you don't need to put anything but the letter if you don't want to, or comment like "I agree" under a proposed idea, if anyone even cares enough to try, not many other ways to go with this to be honest, I doubt many are interested in this anyway

I've decided I'm too impatient so we're ending voting and doing A, sorry to the person that wanted C

Chapter 2: A - Escape?

Notes:

Thank you to those that voted, two for A, one for C, I'm impatient so I only managed to wait like 1 day T-T, the chapters will probably be short because of the whole choices thing, and I'm not the best writer so I can promise no one this story will be even remotely good

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

You struggle against the leather straps binding you to the cold examination table until you're out of breath and panting, you didn't realize it before but now that you’re moving it feels like you were hit by a truck, then the truck backed up and hit you again.

You gasp for air, continuing to try and break yourself free, one of the latches on the strap across your wrist makes a loud cracking noise.

You almost cry from joy at the progress, your body aches even more from your attempts and the frigid air doesn't help, you put all the strength you can manage into thrashing, you can hear a noise coming from the clasp, it sounds like ice cracking.

You wiggle and pull and jerk against it, desperate to free yourself.

With a loud cracking sound your hand is freed, you collapse against the table in exhaustion, jolts of pain run through your body like electricity, you can't catch your breath, it feels like you just ran a marathon, no matter how much air you gulp in your non-existent lungs are still greedy for more.

Your vision goes momentarily blurry from the pain and you can do nothing but lie there waiting for the pain to die down.

After what seems like hours of laying there twitching in pain and gasping for air you feel ready to try and fully free yourself, you examine the rest of the straps, there are two on each ankle and wrist, and one across your ribcage.

You broke one of the wrist straps and your hand is free, you reach to pull at the latch on the broad strap across your chest.

It was surprising simple to just unlatch the strap, your kidnapper or whatever they would be called in this situation, must be stupid.

You unlatch all the straps, ignoring how much it hurts to move and slide off the table.

You stumble from the pain that courses through you when you put weight on your feet, leaning back and grabbing the table behind you so that way you don't face plant onto the floor, you still feel slightly breathless.

You blink until the spots in your eyes are gone, you almost fall 3 times before you get the hang of standing without a support but you manage to nonetheless.

You now see that the black box in the room's corner has a red light in its corner, shit.

That must be a camera, you wonder if they know you're out yet.

You limp towards the door, every step is agony and you feel exhausted, your vision goes blurry once more but you continue to the door determined.

What feels like centuries of pain coarse through you before you half collapse against the door, aching, cold, desperate for air, and half blind.

You couldn't move another inch if you wanted to, you're half convinced you're about to die against this door, every breath stings but where your lungs used to be burn from lack of oxygen, your vision is blurry and full of black spots and you're freezing from how cold the air is, you're surprised you haven't turned into an ice cube.

You slowly push yourself off the door and open it, pushing through the pain, you lean against the open doorway and are met with more white walls.

There are hallways to both your left and right, straight in front of you however is another door, which way should you go?

A: Open the door in front of you

B: Go Left

C: Go Right

D: (?)

Notes:

You should probably already know how this works so I'm not gonna yap about it again

I'm going to try to wait at least two days before closing the voting, let's hope I actually do one of the billion other half finished projects that I need to do instead

Thank you to all that commented on the first chapter and all that comment on this one! (Hopefully) I appreciate your responses even if they were only letters! Also I definitely did not forget to add periods in the first chapter, you have no proof.

Can't continue the story because we have a tie

Chapter Text

You decide to hobble your way right, silently wincing to yourself the whole way.

Continuing down the white corridor you contemplate where you could be, also why couldn't you remember your name or what you were doing before you got here.

While trying to remember your past or name had you drawing blanks you could remember what things were called and what they were used for.

Back to where you were, you suppose it could be some kind of lab, but why were you here?

Maybe you're an experiment?

You step on your ankle wrong and collapse with a yelp to the floor, you struggle to breathe through the pain.

Not to mention how damn cold it was in here, it felt like you had just taken an ice bath.

Your arms spasm under your weight as you struggle to get back on your feet, clinging to the wall you manage the painstaking job of standing back up straight.

You continue limping down the hallway, although slower because of your aching bones.

You continue around the corner in the path and you find three more doors, but these are unlike others you've seen before.

They have labels on plaques beside them, although you don't know what language they are written in

The door directly in front of you reads:

‘👍︎❒︎⍓︎□︎ ♍︎♒︎♋︎❍︎♌︎♏︎❒︎⬧︎ ♋︎■︎♎︎ 💧︎⧫︎□︎❒︎♋︎♑︎♏︎’

The one to your right reads:

The one to the left reads:

Which way do you take?

A: Straight ahead

B: Right

C: Left

D: (?)

Notes:

If there is a tie for over 5 days I will just randomly generate the answer, just fyi

I was going to make a poll but I feel like people wouldn't trust the link so I decided otherwise

Notes:

Had to spin for the answer again, got A. Thank you to those who voted, so sorry I had to spin. I enjoy all comments and encourage everyone to at least vote, simply a number as your comment would be completely fine. Sorry this one is so short my phone malfunctioned and deleted it from Google docs 3 times, it was like 1824 words but now it's only like 245. T-T

Chapter Text

You decide to keep heading straight, you limp to the door and pull it open, immediately being met with huge storage racks filled with boxes labeled in the same language that was on the door labels.

You approach the rack in front of you and pull a bottom box out a little, you try to open it but fail miserably because of how weak you are and how strong the tape sealing it is.

You give up and push the box back onto the bottom shelf of the rack, hobbling back to your feet and continuing further into the room.

The room was like a maze, most of the storage racks were piled to the ceiling and you quickly got lost within the maze of boxes. Every turn led to more boxes and dead ends, you were getting frustrated fast.

You have no idea how long you spent aimlessly wandering in the maze but you were getting quite tired, everything was starting to hurt more from how much you were moving.

Exhausted and out of breath you collapse under one of the shelves to try and conserve more warmth between two boxes and the wall. You examine the boxes next to you after catching your breath and spot a tiny crack in the corner of the box on your right.

Despite your tiredness you were still determined.

What do you do?

A: Try to open the box to your left through the crack in its side

B: Rest awhile and recover your strength

C: Force yourself to your feet and continue to brave the maze

D: Try to open the box to your right

E: (?)

Notes:

Even if I don't respond to your comment I appreciate it, sometimes I just have no idea what to say. I hope you've enjoyed so far.

Chapter 5: 👎︎♏︎⧫︎♏︎❒︎❍︎♓︎■︎♋︎⧫︎♓︎□︎■︎

Notes:

A was the winner!!! I didn't have to spin, thank you to those who voted. I hope you vote again. I think I've been updating like 5 to 7 days after the last chapter was posted so that's probably how it's gonna stay, honestly if people voted more they would be like daily cuz I get way too hyped up writing, it's like a drug at this point. Also I already have to the urge to kill everyone close to this character and we have no friends so yall probably shouldn't trust me.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The box to your left has piqued your curiosity, and the crack in its side didn't help either.

You give in and turn left to examine the crack, while small you could probably open the box through it.

You hook two fingers (phalanges?) into the crack and pull until the crack grows larger.

As you open the box more a red light spills out of it, you pull the crack until your arm goes weak.

Looking inside you see

Vials?

Filled with glowing red hearts?

?

They felt familiar for some reason, but you just couldn't place what these were, but something about them made your skin (bones?) crawl and you had a bad feeling about whatever they were.

Though they had no real use to you so you turned away from the box, slipping a look at the box label

‘👎︎♏︎♐︎♏︎♍︎⧫︎ 👎︎♏︎⧫︎♏︎❒︎❍︎♓︎■︎♋︎⧫︎♓︎□︎■︎ 💧︎□︎◆︎●︎⬧︎: 💧︎♍︎♒︎♏︎♎︎◆︎●︎♏︎♎︎ ♐︎□︎❒︎ ♓︎■︎♍︎♓︎■︎♏︎❒︎♋︎⧫︎♓︎□︎■︎ 💣︎♋︎❒︎♍︎♒︎ 📂︎🖮︎⧫︎♒︎📪︎ 📂︎🖲︎🖰︎🖮︎📬︎’

You're not quite sure why as you still have no clue how to read this language.

Moving on from your useless action, you were still exhausted and opening that box was kinda a waste of time.

You lay under the shelf and struggle to keep your eyes open.

What now?

A: Get up and brave the maze

B: try to open the Right box

C: Take a nap despite the feeling of something. watching you

D: (?)

Notes:

I don't really have anything to say to be honest so, have a nice day or night. <3

Actually shout-out to the person who thought were were gonna get a Gun, the imagery of the character coming up to gaster with a gun was hilarious. I was tempted to actually do it.

Chapter 6: Hiatus

Chapter Text

Kinda lost motivation for this and we still have a tie last chapter so while I'll still be periodically doing this, it's on the back burner for me for now.

I do a lot of things so it's hard to devote tons of time to one of my dozens of hobbies/side projects at once.

(Crochet, making bookmarks, pressing flowers, knitting, I Beta my friends work, I'm helping another friend make a game. No I cannot announce it yet, painting, a little of clay work, I make bracelets and necklaces, and more stuff because I don't feel like listing the rest)

Plus I'm already lazy so I won't be spinning a wheel for this anymore, when people vote, they vote, if no one votes I'm not updating I don't care if I have to wait a year.

Might accept fic requests(?) Cannot promise anything, I will try any Fandom or ship atleast once. (Unless it's gross)

If this is discontinued I'd say it and put it in the title, if I'm still alive and making fics and I haven't explicitly stated that it's discontinued then it's still going. If I stop making fics then I'm probably dead, so if that happens I can't promise I'll be able to update but I'll try.

Chapter 7: ☜︎⌧︎♒︎♋︎◆︎⬧︎⧫︎♓︎□︎■︎

Notes:

Alright I lied, I caved and spun the wheel, got A, thank you to everyone who voted though, sorry I had to spin.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

You push all exhaustion to the back of your mind as you weakly drag yourself to your feet, you're not quite sure why but you feel you need to continue, despite the fact you feel like you might collapse from pain and exhaustion.

You stagger back into the maze, every step feeling like a mile, your eyes grown heavy with every new dead end, you really wish you would've rested.

A loud clang breaks you from your weird thoughts (what were you even talking about, you chose to do this yourself, nobody forced you to get up), a box fell from one of the many tall overflowing shelves that made up the neverending maze.

It busted open and something metal fell out, the sound resounding throughout the seemingly infinite space. (There had to be an end right?)

It just looked like a metal pipe, it seemed too ordinary and out of place to be in a place like this though, maybe there was more to it?

You limped to it and painfully bent to pick it up, it felt like you were carrying a thousand pounds on your back, in the end though you just managed to fall on your ass. (tailbone?)

You panted out heavily, all this moving was doing nothing to help how tired you were, or how much pain you were in, you almost caved and just laid down there on the floor to die, but your determination forced you forward.

You picked up what looked to be an ordinary metal pipe, you turned it around over and over again in your hands but still found only what you saw, a metal pipe.

Great, you wasted your energy getting a metal pipe, plus now you were gonna have to haul yourself back to your feet as well since you were apparently so impaired you couldn't even bend over properly.

The task seemed daunting as you tried to blink black spots and sleep out of your eyes, you really didn't want to get up. No, you would get up, the deep ache in your chest demanded it. (And the eyes you felt watching your every move)

Everything fought against you as you painstakingly forced yourself to your feet, commanding your almost limp body back up, gravity must hate you. The pipe helped a little in getting up but you were still upset you wasted your time and energy on it.

Standing back on your wobbly knees, leaning heavily against a shelf you proceeded forward with the pipe, every step felt like moving a mountain and you could feel yourself drifting off even while walking, your eyes burned with sleep and pain was your best friend at this point, it returned to you more than anything else, at least it was loyal.

You reached a split in the path except this time the boxes were different colors, strange. None of the other boxes were colored, you thought the maze was just an endless sea of brown and white and silver, but you were proven wrong by the boxes before you.

There were three ways to go, directly ahead of you were blue boxes, to the right were red, and the left held yellow boxes, leaning against a shelf you considered your options.

Do you go:

A: Left, to the yellow boxes

B: Straight, to the blue boxes

C: Right, to the red boxes

D: Turn around

E: (?)

Notes:

Thank you everyone who voted, I didn't have to spin the wheel this time. 🎉

Chapter Text

You've decided red is your lucky color today and begin the long stagger right.

While the pipe helps you, you are still exhausted, you feel as though you can't go on much longer, you REALLY wish you would've taken a nap under that shelf, it was warmer under there too.

Advancing further, this way has many twists and turns, every few steps a new 4 way split, you could've been going in circles for all you know. (You probably were)

You were still curious why these boxes were colored, and so weirdly as well, there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the many different shades of red, every shelf a collage of red.

Each one seemed to have similar writing on it, you really needed to learn that language, somehow.

You began frantically searching, you could feel yourself losing consciousness, everything was spinning and black was filling your vision.

You collapsed, pain wracking through you as everything went black….

You jump into consciousness as the feeling of ice cold metal and thick leather straps registers through the fog, you are right back where you started.

Except this time a blindfold obscures our vision completely, and you are upright. Well here you go again.

A: Struggle

B: Scream

C: Wait

D: (?)

Notes:

So sorry if there are any spelling mistakes I wrote this at 5AM, hope you enjoyed it, drink some water today. <3

Notes:

Sorry this one took so long when it isn't long at all, I got kinda unmotivated. Thank you to everyone who voted last chapter.

Chapter Text

You decide to wait this time, breaking out into the maze yielded no rewards for the great struggle it was. Where are you now? Probably in a different room considering how you were upright now, and more straps were present this time.

Even shifting a little you can tell these straps are much tighter than the previous one's, it hurts to wiggle in them.

It would be very hard to break out of these bindings, plus you're still sore and a little tired despite the hours you probably slept after blacking out (?). However at least the blindfold shielded your eyes from the blinding overhead lights covering whatever this place was, probably a lab of some sort from what you've seen.

Silence rang out in your ears, it was way too quiet in this place. When was something going to happen? You were getting impatient, why would someone kidnap you just to leave you strapped down to a table. (And turn you into a skeleton? You still didn't know what that was about.)

It seemed counterproductive but you weren't the possible scientist that kidnapped you, so who knows maybe this did or does benefit them. The language on the walls seemed familiar, as did the red heart vial things in the maze, yet you just couldn't place them.

Why did you remember the stupidest stuff but you couldn't even remember your name, or what happened before you got here. The silence in the room was suffocating, you could've heard ants walking in the room, if they didn't freeze to first.

Maybe struggling would've been a better idea than sitting here waiting, bored out of your mind.

You reconsider your options:

A: Keep waiting(.... waiting)

B: Struggle

C: Scream

D:(?)
