Chapter 1: Introduction; A Marionette, 0.1

Chapter Text

Itsuki Marionette was not a real person. She wasn't supposed to exist. She was supposed to be a puppet- A marrionette and her name was the horrifying reminder that she was only meant to be a god's plaything. Born-well, made in a church by priests and wizards. Put together with silk woven hair, painted features, puppet limbs that were never meant to move on their own. "For the Mighty Shade", the priests always told her, always. From the very moment she opened her glosed over red eyes and took in the sorrowful view of this Dystopian world. The wizards had dossed her with magic, magic that made her get punished if used for anyting other than "Call on the mighty Shade". She wasn't supposed to be sentint, not supposed to have a personality and certainly not supposed to have a will and a want for a future. Not supposed to be herself, althought, that wasn't very hard considering she hadn't even known what being herself meant. The moment she awoken in that fragile puppet body of a child her destiny was written- Not by fate, but by selfish adults who thought that uppon sacrificing and giving to an unintrested deity they were free to sin as they please. The god, "The almighty Shade" she was supposed to serve and be a marionette, a doll for them to possess was uterly unnintrested in possessing a 'human' body and more unintrested in roaming Dystopia.

Itsuki Marionette was simply a puppet, a pale doll with her fingers withering to black with how much she was forced to pray over the burning flames, punished because the reason, the very person she was created for did not care about her or the people that 'cherrished' them. Royal blue hair was never damaged, for the wizards had scattered Dystopia all over looking for the finest silks for it to be woven with. It never grew, it never frizzled and it never got oily. The half hight bun-half down straight and bouncy bangs styled hair she had always been forced to wear from the maidens made her look in the mirror in disgust. She would never be imperfect like humans, and she wished she could be. She wished she was able to cry, she wished for tears to stream down those red irises and the golden inner and outer rings to vanish. To not mark her. She wished for that black star and crescent moon on her cheek to be hidden, that this black eyeshadow over her eyes was simply make up. That she-Like every human who walked Dystopia- had the privaledge of expessing herself by drawing on her face whatever she wanted. She wished for those deer antlers on her head to vanish, too. Despite how many complements she got from everyone they were only a reminder of what she was supposed to be. A puppet to The mighty Shade, A pupper who would never have the priveladge of being herself. Even if she liked them, even if she cared for them like they were meant to be hers, even is she loved to show them and those pointy elf ears of hers to everyone around they were only a bitter reminded of what she'd never be.

What she would never be, until she was

LITTLE DISCLAMER!!! English is NOT my first language and I am far from fluent.

Also! Whenever I am intrested in something and just write it out I do not double check so, if a new chapter is reliesed, I'd wager the previous chapter was a little edited too to make sure I did not write a cacoophony of words together. Anyways, thanks for reading and don't forget to comment your thoughts!

Chapter 2: Escaped, 0.2

Chapter Text

The white hands hovering over her neck, the dark palms wrapped around her antlers, keeping her head straight for the ritual to procced, The hands wrapped around her wrists, keeping her fingers intertwined. The hands holding down on her shoulders, pushing her to her knees. The hands that-

The hands that barred her from ever being free. The hands who forced her to live and the hands to decided what she couldn't and could do. Couldn't, not because she was incapable, but because they didn't allow her to. The hands that made her want to choke.

The moment those hands let go of her, her magic sprung to life, a blinding white light making the priests panic but it didn't effect her. She wasn't human. Her eyes weren't sensitive, she wasn't sesitive to magic-her magic, atleast. The moment nobody could trap her in, she bolted. She ran like her life depended on it. Because it did. She run away from the church, from the palace she was confined in and for once-for once she breathed without hands all over her. Without twisted, ungrateful, sinful praises being forced out of her throat and without the fear that, if she did not comply she'd be forfed to burn her hands with her own magic. Lost in thought, she never saw the hole right infont of her. She never saw the wormhole that sucked her in and spat her out in a complete different world.

Chapter 3: A discovery, 0.3

Chapter Text

She groaned, slowley waking up, glossy eyes blinking the sleepiness away before widening. Widening as the fear that she'd been caught washed over her. Her body trembled, head frantically looking around- Looking for the black hooded priests who would scream at her the moment she opened her eyes. But the shouting never came, the hands never came to touch her, Her antlers were never pulled and no hands grabbed her wrists to push her to floor. No hands forced her to engulf her hands in flames and watch them turn black before she was forced to clean them with wire.
She looked around and all she saw was grass. She layed on soft green grass, surrounded by red flowers and with a small wolf looking down at her from its place on her chest- A small wolf looking down at her from its place ontop of her chest!?

She yelped and the small wolf growled and jumped off of her. She backed up, trembling. She'd never seen a creature like this before. Gray fur, its chest, part of its neck connecting to its head to its face and its paws all darker in colour. Not black, but close. Yellow scelar instead of white, red eyes -Like hers, she thought in awe- and black irirses with a smaller, white iris inside them. a soft red nose, seemingly the same shade of red as its eyes and a tail barely reaching its legs. Safe to say, She kind of freaked out. Not only had she never seen this creature before but she had never seen its species on any book she'd been forced to read, learn and memorize. Never seen it in a book she had to re-write until her mechanical hands gave out and her metaphorical vocal cords gave up on making sounds. She had to know everything, as the vessel for their god, yet she didn't know anything about this creature- only that it looked like a wolf.

To her surpise, the little one did not attack her, its tail swung slowley behind it as it lowered its head and its sharp eyes softened almost whining at her.

Safe to say, that from the moment this creature started following her she decided to call him hers. Not hers in the way the priests called her their god's but hers in the way she never had anyone to feel safe with, to feel like she belonged with, to feel happy with.

Despite her confusion, she and the creature bonded quickly. Quickly with the way they ate berries off of trees together and together in the ways that he protected her when other strange creatures approached her when wondered off. She didn't know how to feel.

Chapter 4: Friends, 0.4

Summary:

no masters and no puppets

Chapter Text

It wasn't long before she named the creature. She named him Mamoru, because he, and he alone was her sole protector in the strange place she had found herself in.

It wasn't long after that she found her second companion. A horse -unicorn??- so adorable she could not help but be mesmorized when it firsed aproached her. Red eyes wide and mouth agape as her hands, much to Mamoru's dissapointed grolws run over the puffy teal and lavender mane main of the white unicorn with light teal and black eyes. It's hooves over her legs as it cuddled close, purring. Mamoru had stopped his prior growling and accepted the situation, waringly comming close and pressing against her back, cuddling right beides her as the horse-sorry, unicorn was as tall as her legs pressed against her chest. She marked the unicorn, Rainrose, as hers, too.

She and her two friends- for once, she had the right to call someone her friend- wandered around this strange world.

She ended up bumping into someone, you see. A man in a dull blue shirt, a white labcoat, a belt and olive green shorts and sandals. Short brown hair and a short beard. After a lengthy talk, the man, having introduced himself as Professor Birch decided to take her in. Decided that despite her semi-human apprearance with her unnaturally red eyes, blue hair, pointy ears and literal antlers on her head to take her in. After a few das of staying with the professor, the inevidable talk arrived. The talk of what she was, who she was and where she hailed from. The professor had never heard of Dystopia, the girl had never heard of the Hoenn region. Professor Birtch had never heard of magic and Itsuki had never heard of Pokemon before. But they both made it work out. He tought her all about this world- This different dimention she had been throw in and she told him all about Dystopia and her past prior to falling here, prior to meeting Mamuro and Rainrose and prior to being treated as a human instead of a doll by everything that surrounded her. She learned that she crossed the dimentions with the 'use' of something called an Ultra wormhole but despite everything she learned. Despite learning she would never return 'home' she was happy. She smiled, and relished the feeling of hands not being all over her.

Professor Birtch ended up raising her. She became a magician in a world of magic monsters, in the world of Pokemon. Once she had her hands on the research books and all the- technology(?) as Professor called it- shelearned all about Pokemon. Memoru was a Poochyena, and Rainrose was a Ponyta, A special version, the Galarian verion, as professor had called her. How she met Rainrose in The Hoenn region, neither of them knew but Professor Birtch decided to chalk it up to the Ponyta simply wandering too far from home.

In the corse of the next few years, she grew up a researcher and a fighter. A pokemon trainer. Thought her interests mostly layed in befrending them as she'd never had friends before. Now, now she had many.

Homura, a Growlithe whom she met when she was supposed to choose her starter pokemon but appearantly, the Growlithe marked her as his the moment he saw her. The moment he walked in and pushed his large, fluffy head on her chest and jumped in her arms. The professor accepted it. he was chosen as her starter.

Habiki, the Noibat she met when she explored a cave too far in. Seeing the little guy hurt, hissing at a Sandile who had attacked it for trying to steal one of its berries she tp protect him with the help of Rainrose whos fairy moves the Sandile was weak to. Habiki, as she came to name the little bat, refused to leave her side after that fateful day.

Fairest, the Alolan Vulpix she saw and fell in love with at first sight. He was corned by a group of pokemon trainers looking to catch him, and Mamoru, now a Mightyena, jumped in at the sound of her orderes to protect him. Fairest, ran over as soon as there was an opening and she had to take on three trainers at once to save the little ice fox. With a jump of her lap, the little fox vowed to never leave her side and forever be her friend, and protector along with her team.

The last who came, but certainly not in any way less loved than any other was Pastry, an Audino she saved up money working hours odd jobs to save. Pastry was being sold by an ungrateful trainer, one who refused to battle and and she knew that her friends and partners could never take the giant Salamance behind him. She could only save Pastry if she payed for her. And she did. She refused to let hands touch was wasn't theirs. She knew the feeling and would not abandon someone who fel tit the same way, albeit much differently. Once she did, the Audino never left her. Loyalty is not given, it's won. And just as professor Birch had won hers by not treating her like an item like everyone before him, so had she won Pastry's by saving her from an abusing master.

In her team, there were no masters and puppets. Only friends and partners

Chapter 5: Fallen (again), 0.5

Chapter Text

Seven Years

That's how long Itsuki had been in the world of Pokemon. At eleven she had escaped and had been thrown into a world she never knew she needed, but one she now wished to never leave from. She had made many friends, over 70 friends she battled alongside with daily. She adored it. She made friends of unique species and she always wanted to befriend their varients. She had more than 200 Pokemon in her PC but they weren't all her friends. She 'cought' pokemon promising them a safe environment, a quiet and nice 'paradise' and she delivered. She fed them, she kept them in shape, she loved them and cherished them as if fearing one day they'd dissapear and she'd once again wake up in a wooden bed with her 'bones' arching and hands all over to keep her in check.

Whoever asked about her non-human features did not do it out of malice but amazement and that made her strive to keep them maintained and preety. Not for the priests, not for "The mighty Shade" but for herself.

However, she never expected she'd be stripped of this world, too- She'd be stripped of the place she adored. And neither had she expected to ever wake up in a school for magicians and mages in another  world

Chapter 7: Prologue; Welcome to the Villains world! -1

Chapter Text

Itsuki did not remember going to sleep but somehow she had found herself in a completely black... room? She wasn't sure. Normaly, she would be able to see as she had excelent vision in the dark but she could see nothing, nada zilch. Most concerningly, non of her Pokemon were with her, nor were ANY pokeballs tied to her belt. She could not feel her bag, she could not feel her friends and started to panic. And panic she did, until that is, a voice cut her train of thought and caused it to the crush to the absolute. fricking. ground.

"Ah, My dear esteemed benefactor. My proud flower of evil. You truly are the fairest one of all"

There was a pause that made her perk up, the person who spoke seemed to be almost...smirking? At least that's what she could understand from their tone of voice.

"O magic mirror, thy wisdom I entreat... Reveal unto me the visage I see..."
The voice paused, as if considering something

"You, whose image the Dark Mirror did beckon forth... If your heart bids it, take the hand of the one reflected in the mirror."

Itsuki was confused, and worried. Was Gengar and Poltegeist playing a prank on her? She shook her head, Gengar and Poltegeist's pranks never left her confused, they always left her shocked, in a good way ofcourse, because those two could never bring themselves to make her worried and sad.

"As flame reduced even the stars to ash. As ice seals away even time itself. As great trees swallow even the sky. Fear not the power of darkness. Now- demonstrate your power"

Was she kidnapped by team Rocket and those were their flimsy attemps at trying to make her join? (again?)

"To me, to them, to yourself. The hour grows long and time is scarce. Keep your grip steady, no matter what may come..."

To any other, it would feel like simply forgetting what they priorly were thinking about but Itsuki wasn't 'anyone'. She was a puppet, a vessel made for a god. Her magic sensitivity was trought the roof so the priests had even the slightest of chances of connecting to their deity throught her. Someone was using magic on her. Sharp ears twitched before her eyes unwilingly closed and she felt the sweet lull of sleep engolf her. But she knew better than to trust it regardless of how safe and cozy it felt.

When she woke up, she had hoped that all of that was just a strange dream- that all of that- All of what?

Itsuki could not remember. To her confusion, she just could not. As if the memories prior to waking up were... cleared and erased.

Her eyes ajdusted rather quickly, for a puppet dossed with magic since she was a child, seeing in the dark was normal for her. She was inside... something? Something large, or rather, wide enought, to accomodate her antlers without her being the slightest uncomfortable. Velvety red cusions surrounder her whole, it was soft but it felt rather claustrophobic. She raised a knee against what she assumed was the door and tried to kick it open, but it did not work. Had she finally been kidnapped by team rocket after all those tiresome, useless efforts of theirs? -Why did Itsuki just get deja-vu? As if she just thought of the same thing a moment ago?- Whatever. But it was confusing, Had she been kidnapped, why did she still feel the weight of her precious pokeballs on her person? She could feel and see- after she looked down- all six of her main team, thank goodness. Looking down, she cradled one of them in her hands, a half black-hald light blue ball on the top with a crescent yellow moon. Mamuro's Pokeball.

'Thank goodness'

At the thought of being anywhere withought her friends she... felt lost, she didn't want to think any further. With those thougts shoved in the back of her head, Itsuki started doing a mental check
Mamoru's ball here. Homura's ball, here. Habiki's ball, here. Pastry's ball, here. Fairest's ball, here. RainRose's ball, here.

Somehow, and for whatever reason, she could also see her backpack at her feet.

Was she really kidnapped? Because if the answer is yes, then the kidnapper must be very, very stupid to not only leave her unrestrained but also with all her partners and bag?? And more importantly, what was she wearing? A soft yet heavy, almost protective feeling fabric surrounder he person, gone were her sweater and pants but not entirely. She could feel them under the cape-thingy.

Itsuki heard murmurs, She wasn't crazy, obviously so someone must be outside of the... box... she was in.
The person was quiet, voice hight and somewhat squicky. Like a child.

"I better hurry up and.... Urgggh... ton!... for size! Mya-ha!"

her first and immediate thought was that someone was trying to open one of the boxes, There were.. probably more? She did not know how that made her feel. Were there moe people trapped in a locked box like her? If so, who was this person trying to open them up??

The same voice continued to speak,

"...What?! You ain't... awake!"
But this tine, a second voice joined in. They sounded distressed and it made her grip Mamoru's pokeball tightly.

"... weasel?!"
Okay, now that, left her completaly confused and her shoulders deflated. A.. weasel?
"...DARE YOU!... no WEASEL!... Grim,... extraordinaire!"
Itsuki blinked, her hold on the Mightyena's pokeball softening as she tilted her head. her antlers lightly smacking against the velvet covered walls of the box and making her whine softly

"...Human!... quick about it!... regret it!"
"...roasted... a weasel?... dream of next?"
"...keep dreamin',...no weasel!"
The converstation paused, the cackling sound of fire making Itsuki perk up with worry as pointed ears twitched. The second voice, a more feminene one had screamed with-she supposed terror- and the... weasel? Whatever that hight piched voice was, screamed after them. Something about... their clothes? How rude.

Itsuki wasn't sure what to do now, she was confused, slighly worried but also mildly dissapointed that she could not open the box by herself alone. She deadpanned, sighting before she brought a hand up to the supposed door of the box. Circling the slight edges she saw and whispering an incantation. She barely used her magic but she knew how to use it well and, well-if she could not open this box by kicks alone, she'd definately use her magic. The space was too small to release any pokemon anyway.

Magic cackled at her fingertips, a familiar bluish red painting her blackened fingers and slowly envolfing the box in a soft light. She softly sang the spell, voice soft.

During her incantation, however, pr rather-because of her concentration she failed to hear the sound of clicking and steps outside her box. Well, she did hear it, just chose to ignore it to perform her spell.
She heard the jaggling of keys and several voices but she ignored them in favour of her finished incantation, the box shook lightly, making her hastily grab her bag and Mamoru's ball out of instinct.
She fell out of the box with a soft thump and landed on something soft with the feeling of several, hundreds of eyes on her. Soft and loud gasps leaving the people surrounding her. She realized-she was fallen ontop of someone.

Quickly turning her attention to the unfortunate victime, she saw a short, red headed boy with pretty blueish-grey eyes and pale skin. She scramed, hurrying to get up and speak apologies as she looked at him. Giving a hand to help him up -after she had returned Mamoru's ball to the poke-belt around her weist.

"Oh-Oh Arceus I am so-SO sorry! It seemed that I had horrible timing using my spell!"
She sheepisly apologized. The red head frowned, not taking her hand and getting up on his own. She heard whispers.

"Did that boy just open the gate on his own??"

"He must be crazy poweful to do something like that!"

"How intruiging..."

"Oh gosh, are they okay? They fell directly ontop of Riddle-are they both okay?"

And more, but she decided to ignore them in favour of the red head who seemingly glared at her as he spoke up.

"How did you open the gate on your own?"
"The...gate? The box I was in, you mean?"
"Ofcourse I mean the 'box'."
"I just used a simple spell. I promise I didn't damage it!"

As her converstation with the red head unraveled she could hear more whispers.

"With a 'simple' spel? What are they on about??"

"THEY CALL IT 'SIMPLE'?!"

The red head, ignoring everyone sighted and sook his hear, still, his eyes were directly on her's

"Go stand infront of the mirror. You are the last student that needs to be sorted."

He simply said, making Itsuki wonder where in Alola she was and what in Arceus she had gotten herself in

Hi! I just had an idea and had to get it out of my system in the style of horrible writting. This might never be continued because my motivation may die so I plead you to not expect ANYTHING from this!

Characers, sadly, will probably be plently ooc because regretibly, if I want to do something I will not put any effort in double cheking about their personallities no matter how well I know those characters

Chapter 8: Prologue; Welcome to the Villains world! -2

Chapter Text

" "Go stand infront of the mirror. You are the last student that needs to be sorted." "
Well, Itsuki certainly did have a few questions in that sentaince alone.

Stand infront of a mirror? S T U D E N T? sorted into what?

Could she even voice her thoughts? These people seemed to consider whatever this-this situation was, normal. It'd be weird if she were the only one confused. Also, let her rethink that real quick- Student. As in, she managed to fall in some kind of school. Great.

Not that Itsuki hated school, it just brought many memories. The priests made her go to public school, surprisigly, instead of teaching her themselves in private lessons and it often ended up with her, well, being a little bullied. Professor Birtch understood her her fear and chose to tutor her himself, but after a good year of relentless studying- Not that the professor was hard on her in any way, that was just the only thing she knew how to do- She managed to get her trainer license and start her pokemon journey. She'd forever be grateful for that.

Also, not to add, wasn't she a little too old for this? Not that she's old, but she's already an adult, and the people here-well, the majority atleast looked like teens in their 16s

Her confusion must have, probably due to her silence and the distant staring as she got lost in her head, been evidant as she was snapped back to reality by the little red head angily muttering and waving a gloved black hand infront of her eyes

she blinked once, she blinked twice

"O-Oh, I apologise. I must have been lost in thought"

"Make sure it does not happen again, now please, step up to the dark mirror"
Was his only response before he turned his back to her and walked back to the front row of seats in the room.

Okay, okay she could make this work. She thinks. She hopes. She would have said she prays too, but tht would be... a little off brand for her. Heh.

Looking around Itsuki saw a black... Yeah, black mirror in the middle of room. It was floating. So, that confired one thing, atleast. She fell somewhere where magic is real, existant and accepted. If everyone's minor reaction to her unlocking spell was anything to go by and that magic, apearantly, mirror.

"So I just... go stand infront of that freaky mirror?"

Her question seemed to make the room pause and collectivaly stare at her. She could hear one guy trying to hide his laught and other surpressed giggles.

"Freaky mirror, pffffttt"

"Did they-Did they just call the mirror of darkness freaky??"

"Pftt- Come on hold me- I think I'll fall bah hah- freaky mirror"

The six people in the front row, whom she realized must have been some kind of leaders or important figures started at her with various reactions. The first guy, the red head from earlier just blinked blankly. The second guy, one Malamar looking guy with glasses seemed intrested-He had a freaky grin on his face that made her want to punch him. The third guy, a dark skinned guy with a Pyroar tail and ears -Which she instantly found cool and hot as hell- seemed bored and sleepy, which, relatable. The fourth guy was a white haired-red eyed ball of actual jumping joy that reminded her of Cufant and Comfey- He seemed joyful and kind. The fifth guy might have almost got her to fall on one knee and call him his majesty because hear her out-that Man was gorgeous, he was dreamy-And no. She would not retract her statement. The pretty boy looked at her with interest and possibly the want to kidnap her. She didn't know-And for once, she kinda did not want to learn. The guy was not even a damn guy. That was a freaking floating tablet which was quietly maniacly giggling-If this were the world of pokemon still she'd think a Rototm was possesing it. What if her Rotom tried possessing it? She'd better not get any ideas.

The red headed boy sighted, looking as if he aged 10 years from her statement alone

"Just-Yes. Go stand infront of that mirror."

Itsuki decided to nod, and ignore that pleading tone in his voice screaming 'please don't be a morron and don't ask stupid questions it physically pains me' and she opted to do as the boy told her. And so she did. She walked up to the mirror and blinked awkwardly.

The mirror seemed as if it were blinking back at her. And it freaking did, because a face showed up.

"State thy name"

Ew. Old Dystopian, She hated that language- Only because it was the only language she was allowed to use in the church. Disgusting.

"Ahem. Itsuki Birch"

Itsuki had long stopped calling herself 'Itsuki Marionette'. Ever since her adoption by Professor Birtch and his wife she had the right to not remind herself of what she was everytime she said her last name.

"Itsuki Birtch... The nature of your sould is... clear yet so unbelievably foggy. Magic owned beyond the normal and a prescence that follows you everywhere-"

Ah, the freaky mirror must be talking about her pokemon

"-Your soul belongs in Diasomnia"

What in the stupid Shade in a Diasomnia-IS WHAT SHE WOULD HAVE SAID if she was stupid. Because, ahem, she had deducted that Diasomnia was one of the dorms as little red called them earlier.

But that knowladge did not make her any less weirded out by all the whispers that heated up once again.

"Ofcourse he is in Diasomnia, he opened the gate on his own! If that is not some serious magic then-"

"Not surprising, but he seems intresting. Kinda dissapointed, they'd make Heartslabyul fun."

She ignored them- stepping down from the little platform and awkwardly staring.

"Now, umh, where should I go?"

A comedic cought was heard from somewhere in the crowd as little red's eye twiched. He raised a hand and pointed her to a group of other students which she quickly moved towards to avoid causing the poor red-headed guy any more tiredness.

"We're done with orientation and dorm assignments finally? All right, new students-let me be clear. At Heasrtslabyul dorm, I am the law. Break the rules, and it's off with your head!"

Well, now that she can hear him speak like that, little red kinda freaked her out. Well, not freaked her out, but he too, made her want to punch something. The way he spoke made her be reminded of the priests.

"Yaaawn Well, that ceremony was as boring as ever. I'm going back to the dorm. If you're in Savanaclaw follow me. Don't fall behind."

Yeah-His voice was simply as atractive as his looks. Not that shed probably ever admit it to his face. Nah. This guy seemed like the type that you have to admire from afar.

"New students! Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on your achievement. As dorm leader of Octavinelle dorm, I am honored to have the opportunity to support you in what I hope will be a fulfilling campus experiance."

This guy seriously made red lights flicher in her head. Itsuki decided to ignore him all together because again his face made her want to punch him. And punch him good.

"Hey, does anyone know where the headmage went? He disappeared midway throught the ceremony..."

The pretty boy commented, his lips turning to a frown

"Some headmage he is."

The floating tablet spoke, ah, she mentally noted, this tablet was probably controlled by someone who hated social interactions. She respected the effort to actually be there if he hated the whole thing.

"Maybe he had a tummy ache?"

This guy's voice was adorable, by the way and Itsuki just wanted to pinch his cheeks.

"I most certainly did not!"

The two large doors were pushed open for a Corvknight looking guy to come inside, followed by a confused looking person on his heels and a... grey Litten-like creature with blue eyes, a trident like tail and blue flames comming from his ears.

"Ah, speak of the devil."

The red headed boy sighted again. Itsuki put two and two together and concluded that this guy was the 'headmage'. He looked... incompetent. Ahem. Pardon her.

"If you must know, I was searching for the new student who'd failed to show for orientation and had escaped from their gate.-"
Turning to the poor soul behind him, the Corvknight with no knight's grace continued
"You are the only one yet to be assigned a dorm. Step up to the Dark Mirror, and be quick about it. I'll watch your weasel."

-to which said creature growled at

What even was a weasel?

The person stepped on the platform, the freaky mirror coming to life again. She's calling it freaky mirror now.

"State thy name"

"I'm Yuu..."

Awe.. come on person, even a pokemon could come up with a better name for themselves and that's saying a lot because all the sounds they made were literly their names

"Yuu... The nature of your sould is... .... ...unclear to me."

Eh?

"What did you just say?"

Itsuki had gotten the impression that this freaky mirror could see their sould and decide where they were best fitted to be at. Did they have no magic and so the magic artifact had a blue screen to work with?

"I sense no magical power from this one. Soundless. Colourless. Sharpeless. Utterly vacant. Therefore, no dorm would be appropriate."

Ah. Seemed Itsuki was right. By the confused and kinda terrorized look on the peron's face Itsuki would like to assume that they too-like here were from another world.

"Are you suggesting that the black carriage went to receive a person who cannot even use magic? But that is absurd! The student selection process has not erred once in its century of existance! How could this have even happened?"

Itsuki could swear she would hear the guy let out confused caws like an actual Corvknight but for her sanity she decided to ignore it in favour of the grey Litten who looked ready to escape from the man's grasp.

"Mmmph! Nnnrggh.... GASP! ME! Let ME have this student's seat!"

Her ears twitched in displease, what an annoying voice this Litten has. It reminded her of those annoying kids back at home in Hoenn who pulled her into back-to-back pokemon battles without asking her and also annoyingly not wanting the battle to end until she had made them shut up by making all their pokemon faint.

"Not so fast, you hyperactive weasel!"

This guy must have a real weak grasp on the creature if it managed to slip right out of it. The guy did not even try to catch it after it escaped either.

"Unlike that human, I can actually use magic! So let me be a student here! Look, I'll show you! My spell's the cat's meow!"

His pitchy voice made her ears ring. Oh Arceus.

"Everyone, get down!"

The little red shouted-was he... holding a pen in his hand? Wwere those this univere's wands?

"Myaaahhh!"

Blue fire popped up everywhere, surrounding the room. Itsuki just blinked- She didn't worry about fire. It didn't hurt and this creature's fire was barely anything compared to the fires Homura and Rainrose could spew. Not to mention, her own 'weak' fire spells were much stronger than that.

"AHHHHHH! HELP! I'm on fire over here!"

The poor red eyed, white haired guy yelped, his rear was on fire. Itsuki had to do a double take to make sure she saw correctly.

"Someone catch that blasted animal before it sets the entire school ablaze!"

Wa-wasn't that guy the HEADMASTER? Was he actually so useless that he was asking his student to solve the problem for him?

"Ugh. Can I go now, or...?
She could certainly agree with Pyroar guy. She, too, wanted to go and pass the tyme with her Pokemon. She already misses Mamoru being by her side

"Oh? I thought you fancied yourself a hunter. Go and help yourself to that plump little morsel!"
Well, the pretty boy did certainly have a good sense of humour.

"Too much effort. Do it yourself."

And then-then that annoying voice that Itsuki found very punchable spoke up.

"Allow me to handle this, Headmage Crowley. If non of you are up to the task of catching a small animal, I will accept the responsibility."

"WTG Azul. Rackin' up those participation credits."
The guy behind the floating tablet certainly was sarcastic-But Itsuki has to say that she loved his voice. Also, now atleast, she knew the name of the guy that unexplainatly made her want to punch him straight to the face. Azul.

hey, wait- Had anybody helped the guy with his butt on fire yet?

"hey, um. my robe's still on fire... Could anyone maybe put this out?!"

There was her answer. nope. Were all these people usuless?

"I'm sorry, were my instructions unclear?!"

Ugh, annoying and incompetent. Itsuki hated people like that.

"Sighhh Preeetty sure you can handle catching one mangy weasel all on your lonesome there, headmage"

Yeah, you tell 'im lazy Pyroar

"How many times do I gotta say it? I'm Grin, spellcaster extraordinaire! I am NOT a weasel!"

Okay, this was getting redicilus. Would this page drag on for any more words? The aurthor is annoyed

wait-what?

"Aren't you a spinky little fellow? Riddle, would you be so kind...?"

Azul smirked, she still wanted to punch him

"Furry miscreant. I will abide no rule-breaking. You will be judjed by my hand."
Ah. So little red's name was Riddle. Good to know.

Also, this was getting annoying-and that guy's butt was STILL on fire. She could just feel her friends arching to participate in the chaos. So, she did the only logical thing a puppet that somehow only befriends creatures and monsters can do. She decided that she, too, will participate in the hunt.

"Excuse me! Let me assist you. This is dragging on for too long and it's getting redicilous."
Her hands immediatly went to two of her pokeballs. Mamoru's and Fairest's. Fairest could easily put all the fire out with an Ice beam and his natural cold body and the chilling yet calm atmoshpere that followed him everywhere would be perfect and well-Mamoru was the hunter. He'd catch the Litten in no time.

"Isn't that the one that opened the gate on his own?"

"I'm curios to see his magic in action."

Well, too bad. Itsuki did not plan on using her magic for this. Her friends wanted to be out, and she'd happily oblige

"Very well, freshman. But make sure to not stand in our way"

Riddle twirled his pen- was that a red stone ontop of it? Sableye would definately find that apetizing-she'd have to keep the little gremling away from things like that while here.

"Oh, not to worry. Just make sure to not stand in mine"
Itsuki could be quite competitive and Riddle just flipped her switch.

"Oh?"
Azul questioned as she took the two pokeballs from their place on her belt, twirling them around before a wide smirk crossed her lips.

"Mamoru, Fairest- Your turn in the spotlight!"

Wooshhhhhh, I either write at midfuckign night or the asscrack of dawn. Anyway. This chapter was wiritten at 4am and editted at 1pm after falling asleep with my face on my keyboard. anywayysss Hope you enjoyed the chap!

Chapter 9: Prologue; Welcome to the Villain's world! -3

Chapter Text

"Oh?"
Azul questiones as she took the two pokeballs from their place on her belt, twirling them around before a wide smirk crossed her lips.

"Mamoru, Fairest- Your turn in the spotlight!"

White light shined brighty as loud, gorgeous cries were heard over the room. The pokeballs opened with a flash and two creatures emerged, enarmoring the room.

"What in the the?!"

"Are those his familiars?"

"My... what a gorgeous creature.."

The first was a white fox, a chilly atmosphere surrounding the fairy and ice pokemon. It's nine tails posing proudly as it stood ready for his friend's command.

"Is that-Some kind of hyena?"

"What kind of dog is that??"

"Where did he find such creatures?"

The second was a large, black and white heyna-or was it a wolf? It looked like a mix. It's stance offensive, growling lowly and it infront of the one who had summoned it.

"We'll talk later, why don't the two of you enjoy yourselves for now?"

The girl mused, ignoring the yellps and awes of confusion around her

"W-what?"

The redhead stuttered, loosing his composure only for a second before he narrowed his eyes and gripped his magic pen.

"First off, Fairest-Ice beam all around the room but keep the intensity low! The fire needs to be put out"

Fairest, the Alolan nitetails nodded and cried out as he opened his mouth and summoned an ice beam. The room chilled-literally and metaphorically as students froze (only metaphorically) and the fire got wiped out in seconds, like it was barely anything.

The ninetails stood smug, its tails flickering as it elegantly walked with foot infront of foot. A perticular blond was staring intensly at him, but Fairest did not acknowledge it.

The fox turned to looked around, his blue eyes landing on a white haired boy who was yelling-with his butt on fire. Fairest decided that he'd help the poor boy out of this uncouth display and walked over to him. Red eyes met blue and the creatured raised a paw, effortlesly and elegantly placing in ontop of the fire. It instantly went out. The red-eyed, white-haired boy beamed at him and went in to hug him around the neck. Fairest, sight a sight, accepted and allowed the poor boy to embrase him.

"Thank you! You're so pretty"

The boy let go and gave him all kinds of complements. Complements that made his tails twitch and his nose turn up in delight and proudness. With a small bow and a little fox sound Fairest decided to return to his friend. Walcing back to Itsuki. The girl smiled.

"Alright, thank you, your majesty"

She  joked with her friend, giving him a mock bow and receiving one of his own.

"Now, Azul and Riddle was it?"

The two snapped their attention to her, the former having previously been ogling Fairest and the latter simply looking slightly wide-eyed at the same fox.

"Let's catch that feline"

Her eyes narrowed sharply, turning her attention to Mamoru who had been patiently waiting for his turn to jump in the chaos. Azul and Riddle nodded, running right after the two as Mamoru skillfully dodged the fires the Litten was throwing out with Itsuki just as skillfully catching the flames with her bare hands, using a little magic to put out any stray ones. She missed the wide eyed look of practically the whole room and the whispers of-

"Is he using magic without a magic pen?!"

-, not that she didn't hear them. Ofcourse not. She just ignored them.

"Mrea! Check it! See how strong I am?!"

The grey Litten cried out as the three of four of them, humans, puppet and pokemon, chased after him.

"Haa!"
Riddle loaded up magic, shooting it towards the feline who slightly panicked, managed to avade it.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!"

Itsuki would have said she felt bad for the creature, but that would be a lie. Well, npot entirely, but it'd still be a lie.

"How very brazen of you to go breaking the rules in my presence."

It seems she may have been right earlier when she thought that those six people at the front held some kind of authority. Otherwise, Riddle would be plain stupid to demand something like that so blatantly.

"Shall we make this quick, then? I'm afraid we don't have much time to spare."
The annoying glasses said, and no-for now she refused to address him by name in her head simply because he annoyed her already.

"Haa!"
Azul fired off a spell, Grim barely managing to dodge it

"Gah!"
His panicked yelps reminded Itsuki of the ones team Rocket members would ungracefully shout when she chased after them after a successful pokemon battle. Always successful on her part, ofcourse. Those idiots held no candle to het magic and bonds with her pokemon.

"Must you relish playing with your quarry, Azul?
Riddle asked through gritted teeth

"Heh. And here I thought we were both the sort to enjoy this."
Azul smirked back, making Itsuki almost pause and punch him to the face. But she didn't. She'd be the bigger adult for now. Was the guy even a legal adult?"

"Please. I'm not like you, so spare me your drivel"

"While the two of you having a quarrel between you is quite entertain I do also like not having to stop my friend from mauling the kitty, So catch up to us or I'll deal with him"

She finally decided to enterupt. Sure, them arguing kinda like a married couple was fun, but right now-when Mamoru was having his own fun chasing off-brand Litten, Itsuki would be worried that Grim would end up being his next meal. Not that Mamoru would cause such trouble, but, it's a saying ofcourse.

"Eeep!"
Grim hissed as Mamoru was hot on his trident tail, the Bite Pokemon's ears twiched as he pressed his paws down to Grim's tail, claws blocking him from escaping as the pokemon barred his teeth warningly.

"Myah! Let go of me you weird dog!"

"Poor soul. Ran yourself straight to a predator, did you?"
Azul mused as he and Riddle caught up, Mamoru having now picked Grim up with his teeth by the scuff of his neck to whitch the latter one was groaning loudly at.

"I suggest you surrender. Otherwise..."
Riddle threatened, his magic pen at the ready.

"NO! I'm gettin' into this school and that's FINAL!"
Grim childishly announced, trying to break free from the Mightyena's jaw but alas, the bite pokemon did not let go and only bit harder. His sharp teeth on Grim's fur causing 'litten' to break out in a string of whines and cries

"Stand aside, Azul, freshman."

"MYAAAH!"

Itsuki decided to trust Riddle's worlds and motioned for Mamoru to walk over to Riddle. Funny enought, the Red head seemed taken aback by this but in the end, he did not say anything. She took a few steps back and got out of his way-not sure what he was about to do.

"Off With Your Head!"

"MYAH?! What are you doing?!"

What is he doing indeed, Itsuki was incredibly curious- what was this magic? What did Riddle just do and why did Grim now have a pretty collar around his neck?

"The Queen of Heart's Rule 23: "One must never bring a cat to a formal affair. Your very presence here is a violation of order. You will vacate this premises immediately"

The Queen of Hearts...?

"But I ain't a cat, either! Don't try to collar me! I'll burn it right off!"

Itsuki got even more curious as Grim did not seem to be able to breath his fire

"Hud...? Wh-what gives? My fire ain't workin'!"

"Until I deside to remove  that collar, you will not be using your magic. You're naught but a pet cat now."

Riddle seemed amused- and, admitedly, Itsuki found it amusing, too. She had to try her best to not be heard snickering.

"M-meoWHAT?! I ain't nobody's pet-NOTHING!"

He cannot be denying to be an animal when he is meowing and hissing.

"Oh, you've nothing to worry about there. I certainly have no interest in having you as a pet."

Honestly, Itsuki did not think she'd want Grim as a pet, either. Well, Grim acted like a pokemon-but considering that this was another world she doubted she was anything than just a weird creature or a beast- so, perhaps Grim would never be a pet but a companion like her pokemon.

"Ha-Ha! Good show as always, Riddle. Your signature spell locks down any magic. It's quite handy. I've just GOT to have it-ah, I mean, I've just got to have respect for it."

Itsuki still wanted to punch that guy, did she mention that? The Malamar guy made her eye twich, and she did not even know why.

"Yuu! Was I not clear that are expected to take responsibility for your familiar? Now discipline your-"

By the frustration on Yuu's face Itsuki deducted that the poor thing did not even know who this was.

"I told you damnit! It is not mine! I've never seen this creature before!"

Yuu yelled, throwing their hands in the air and pointing at Grim.

"W-What? O-oh! It isn't yours?"

Itsuki decided that she hated that Corvknight knock-off a little more than the malamar guy

"I've told you repeatedly that he isn't mine!"

"Oh... Is that so? Ahem Then I shall have it expelled from campus. I shall even spare it from being served as dinner. My, but I AM kind. ...Someone take this away, please"

Dinner? Why would you ever cook and eat a creature that is sentiant and talks? That's just cruel. In the pokemon world Itsuki almost never eat anything meat like without having it served to her without her permission. Almost nobody did-after all, pokemon weren't just animals, they were their own person and it simply felt and was wrong to-to eat them.

"Umh... mister, Please tell your... familiar to take that creature out"

Itsuki perked up, a small smirk on her lips

"Mamoru"

The puppet called out, motioning to Riddle. Mamoru, looked at her and nodded

"Mighty!"

he held Grim in his jaws and walked over to Riddle, allowing the red head to -hasitantly- take the litten out of his jaws. The Mightyena gave Riddle a small bow and turned on his tail to walk back to Itsuki.

"NOOoooOOO!!!"

The cat struggled as Riddle -actually- GODS DAMN ACTUALLY THREW GRIM OUT.

.

Poor guy.

"Well, that was quite the unexpected francas. I hereby declare that orientation had concluded. Housewardens, please escort your students bac to the dorms. ...Hh? Come to think of it, I do not see Housewarden Draconia of Diasomnia House anywhere.."

Itsuky tilted her head as she got on one knee and started petting Mamoru, Fairest by her side looking unimpressed by her babying of the Mightyena- Said Mightyena seemed to adore the attention and allowed the puppet -as he always did- to snuggle her face to his.
Despite this, itsuki was following the conversation. Diasomnia house was the one that she was sorted in- What about her Housewarden?

"And that surprises you? Dude's a total recluse"
Lazy Pyroar rolled his eyes, leaning back lazily.

"Wait a second... Did-Did anyone even invite him?"
The fact that the white head had asked that -that he had needed to ask that- made her doubt they cared enought to invite him.

"If you're that worried about him missing out, maybe you shouold have told him yourself."
The pretty boy- she, regretably, had not goten his name yet- said

"Maybe, but I don't know him too well either..."
Come on nice guy, Cufant would never be like that- :(

And then-Whispers, many, many whispers.

"Draconia... like, Malleus Draconia? THAT Draconia?"

"So it's true? He really does go to school here?"

"Yikes."

Itsuki felt sad, not pitty necceserily, but quite sad. Her Housewarden- Malleus Draconia, whoever that was- seemed to be excluded and 'forgotten' by others and feared by most. That-wasn't okay.

"Ah. Just as I'd expected. I figured I'd come down and see for myself whether Malleus had made an appearance. But once again, he was evidently not informed that his presence was required at an official ceremony."

Itsuki was taken aback by the young looking boy's deep voice and she almost fell back- were it not for Fairest going behind her back and upporting her with a small glare.

"You have my sincerest apologies. I assure you, this oversight was in no way intended as a snub"
Okay Azul, and I'm a real human. That's the response she wanted to give, but she wouldnt. because any interaction with that guy will probaly result in a broken bone or two. For him of course.

"I mean, you must admit, he's not exactly the easiest person to strike up a converstation with."
Riddle did not have to be so blunt- He seemed like a hard person to talk with, too but itsuki would not voice that thought. She'd just keep her hands on Mamoru and pet his face like he is  just a Poochyena and not a 3 feet 3 inches evolved pokemon.

"No matter. All who were assigned to Diasomnia Dorm, follow me. I just hope he doesn't sulk about this.."

Itsuki got up on her feet, holding her friends' pokeballs. Fairest went in immediatly, pressing his nose against the ball and letting himself desapear in the poket dimention.

"I'm sorry, are you perhaps the... vice-housewarden?"

That's the only thing that Itsuki could think of. It was only natural that a leader would have a right hand, so, they probably had Vice Housewardens.

"Oh-you. Yes, Lilia vanrouge, how can I help you?"

Itsuki held a hand out as Mamoru pressed his snout against her hand

"Itsuki Birch, I'd like to ask if it's allowed for... familiars to be in the dorms?"

Lilia seemed to pause at Itsuki's question. He glanced at her-then at mamoru and hummed.

"As long as he does not cause any problems and stays always by you there is no problem with his prescence here. As long as your roomates are okay with it, too, of course."

so, she's going to have roomates? Great. Yayy...

"thank you, sir Vanrouge"

Itsuki hummed, nodding. She placed a hand on Mamoru's head and gave him a few pets before she followerd lilia- she and the other few tens of people that followed. Nobody seemed to go 'too near' her and Mamoru as they followed Lilia throught gothic walls, black floors and floating decorations until they reached a 'small' room with seven mirrors. The mirror they had to walk in was quite pretty and the place where they would stay at- Diasomnia dorm- was very pretty on it's own.

So, like, I totaly did not write this at 3am... Someone make me sleep...

Anyway, there are probably many mistakes  but I hope you enjoyed this anyway!
