Chapter Text

It was a nice evening for Leafy. It had been hours since she and the others saved the show from cancellation, and now she was relaxing by the beach. The salty breeze was light enough for her body to stay on the ground, and the orange sun coupled with the rosy pink sky was breathtaking. She couldn’t think of a better way to end the day…that changed when Firey approached her.

“Leafy, there’s something I need to tell you.”

“Oh? What is it?”

“Well…” he uttered while fidgeting with his hands, “I love you.”

“Huh?”

He reached forward and cupped her hand. “I said I love you. You’re the light of my life, my love for you shines brighter than the stars, including this one” he said while pointing at the sun. “You’re the most wonderful person I’ve ever met, and I would be honored to call you my girlfriend.”

Leafy was left speechless after hearing such a romantic confession from her friend. But before she could respond…

“WAIT!”

Before they could blink, a green blob sprung out of the ocean nowhere and started sprinting towards them.

“*huff huff* that wasn’t…as cool as i thought it’d be…”

“Gelatin?” Leafy asked? “Why are you here?”

Soon as the words left her mouth, Gelatin seemed to snap out of his exhaustion. His posture was straight, and a confident gaze quickly replaced his tired one. 

“I love you too.”

“Really?” Leafy asked, utterly baffled by what was happening.

“Of course I do.” he affirmed. “I didn’t have the guts to tell you before, but I really think we could have something special...besides, why date someone with a ton of baggage when I’m available?”

She felt Firey’s hold tighten a bit. “I promise I’ll be a good boyfriend, great even! I’ve never been good at showing it, but you mean the world to me!”

Leafy gently pulled her hand away. “B-but, it can’t happen like this-”

“You’re right, it’s completely pointless,” Gelatin said. “Leafy, who do you choose?” 

“I…I choose…”

Chapter Text

“Firey!”

“...really?”

“Yeah!” She said while clinging onto his arm.  “You mean the world to me too! In fact, I was thinking of doing something…” she leaned in and whispered the rest of it to him. “...does that sound good?”

“Good? It sounds amazing! Count me in!”

The two lovebirds ran off, completely ignorant to their confused green friend.

“Uh, count him in for what?” He asked no one. 

He saw them come back quickly, but it only left him with more questions.

“Wha…why did you guys get a boat???”

They chucked it into the ocean before Leafy finally graced him with an answer.

“We’re gonna make a new dream island together!”

“That could easily take you several years, are you sure-”

“Uh-huh!” She squeaked. 

“But I never did anything bad to you, so why-”

“With all due respect, you tried to kill me twice.” After dropping that line, Leafy leapt into the boat without an ounce of hesitation.

“Oh Firey, I can’t wait to catch up on all those lost years between us! This is gonna be so wonderful…”

That was the last thing Gelatin heard from her before the boat drifted away into the ocean.

Firey Ending (Sticking with the safe choice but it’s still a cute one)

“Gelatin!”

“Wuh-well of course you’d choose me!” he said, trying very hard to mask his surprise.

“I’m so excited for our new future!” Leafy said, grabbing his hand with a burst of energy. “We could watch the sun set together, dance under the stars, go on a multi-year long quest to undo that statue curse, I don’t know where to start!”

“Good ideas,” Gelatin said. “But I think we could start with a cuddle session…in my room.”

“W-wow Gelatin!” Leafy stammered, “You sure know how to make a girl blush!”

“But Leafy,” Firey said. “I promised that I’ll be there for you…”

“No offense Firey, but you already did that several years ago and we all know how that went.”

Firey was speechless as he watched his closest friends walk away, hand in hand, gleefully discussing their couple goals.

Gelatin Ending (It might be less popular but that doesn’t make it less cute)

Chapter Text

“Both of you!”

“What?” They asked in unison.

“Yeah!” She affirmed. “We can hold hands, call each other pet names, kiss each other under the moonlight’s soft glow-”

“Leafy that’s absurd !” Firey insisted, with a very red face.

“It is?”

 “Yeah!” Gelatin added, also quite embarrassed. “We can’t just do that!”

“Why not?”

“Because it’s like cheating!” Gelatin answered. “And indecent!” Firey added.

“How so? If we all agree to it, is it really cheating?”

“Because…it’s just…we can’t…”

The two kept stammering out an incomplete list of reasons for what could’ve been several minutes. Then their voices trailed off, and within a few quiet glances, they looked at Leafy with a curious longing.

She held out her hands, waiting for her partners to take them. They did so gracefully.

“Both of you!”

“What?” They asked in unison.

“Yeah! We’re already close, why not take our bond even further?”

Firey and Gelatin seemed embarrassed by the suggestion, what with their tomato red faces and insanely sweaty palms.

“W-wow Leafy," Firey stammered. "I didn’t think you’d be interested in that kind of relationship but…I think I am.”

"Me too," said Gelatin. "I had never considered it before but sure, why not?" 

“It’s settled.” Leafy said. “We’ll be the best of friends, forever!” She held out her palms for a hi-five.

“Wait wait wait…” Gelatin said. “Let me get this straight. We clearly expressed our romantic feelings for you, but you want us all to just stay friends?”

“Uh-huh!”

“And you don’t see a problem with that?” Firey added.

“Nope!”

…

…

“...al-RIGHT!” They yelled before meeting Leafy’s hands with their own hi-fives.

Friendship Ending (Turns out the real love triangle was the friends we made along the way)

“That guy!”

Leafy pointed at a paper guy that was slightly folded.

“That guy?!” They both asked.

“Yeah!” She said dreamily. “We were made for each other!”

“Even though you’ve never talked?!”

“And probably don’t know his name!?”

“I don’t need to!” Leafy claimed. “There’s a feeling in my heart that, in another world, we were childhood friends that had a complicated falling out that took years to resolve, but ultimately made us better people…do you get what I’m saying? Firey probably does.”

“wha…but I-”

“I’m glad you guys understand! You’re both very special to me, but I have to follow my heart! Sorry!”

Random Guy Ending (How did this dude even get here? Who cares, funny ending!)

Chapter Text

“I’m not sure if I should choose either of you…”

“Why not?”

“I haven’t had enough time to think about this…it’s a big decision.”

The pair looked at each other, reflecting on their actions. After some hushed whispers, Firey spoke first.

“Leafy…I’m sorry for putting so much pressure on you.”

“I’m sorry too,” Gelatin said. “We should’ve considered how you felt.”

“Thanks guys…”

“That’s why we’re going to date each other!”

“Huh?”

“During our long history as friends, we’ve always felt close.” Gelatin explained. “But during our off-screen battle for your affection, we realized those feelings might be different from friendship. Since you aren’t ready for a relationship, we figured it’d be best to explore those feelings with each other.”

“Wow…” Leafy answered. “That sounds great! Long as you two don’t forget about me.”

“Of course we won’t!” Firey insisted. “Friends forever?”

“Friends forever!”
