Chapter Text

Hello, everyone!
I am Edden.
This is going to be my first fanfic on AO3. Fingers crossed that I don't get the AO3 author curse. I probably jinxed myself, but oh well.
Contrary to other some other people on here, I have not been working on this for a while. I don't even have the first chapter entirely written. However, since I am doing this very much based around the plot of each episode of Star Trek Voyager, it shouldn't be too hard. It may take me a while to update sometimes, though.
So, the format for this series is going to one book per season, so 7 books. Two-parters are going to be two chapters, aside from the first and last episodes of Voyager. There will be a prologue in the first book, an epilogue in the seventh book, and there will be filler chapters for each season which will include smaller side missions and general life on the ship.
You will note that I have marked this story as both canon compliant and not canon compliant. I want to stick to the plot as close as I can, but there are still a few things I want to work out. For example, I am trying to figure out if I want my OC, Evelyn, to have a romance. She is a lesbian, so I am thinking either Janeway or Seven of Nine for a love interest. I'm leaning more towards Janeway. However, there is the Janeway/Chakotay ship, which seems very prevalent until season 7, where the showrunners wanted Seven and Chakotay to get together. Which is stupid. I am never going to write that, aside from when it is mentioned in the show. So, this brings up a question, which I want you lovely readers, if there are any to answer. If there are any of you. The question is, do I have Janeway and Evelyn get together, which would give the push needed for Chakotay to find someone new, or do I have Janeway and Chakotay get together, causing Evelyn and Seven of Nine to get together. Or should I just have Janeway and Chakotay get together and Evelyn doesn't date anyone. The last possibility is that there isn't a very complicated thing, and no one dates each other, aside from B'Elanna and Tom, which I am keeping, because that is cannon and I love those two together.
For those of you who read the description, you may be asking, doesn't Evelyn already have a girlfriend? Slight spoiler, the girlfriend dies when Voyager gets sent off to the Delta Quadrant. This is why I'm stuck. I am leaning more towards Janeway and Evelyn getting together, but it most likely won't happen until after the season 4 episode Hunters, where Janeway learns that her fiancée has married someone else. Please let me know in the comments what you all think. You all will determine the romance for Evelyn in the later books of this series!
There is a possibility that I will be cross posting this fanfiction on the fanfiction site Quotev, under the account https://www.quotev.com/Foodsssss, but if I do, it will only be after the first book is complete. The series that this book is going to be in, in case you were wondering, is Lost and Far.
Just to be clear, I do not own the rights to anything in the Star Trek franchise, or any of the characters that show up in this fanfiction aside from Evelyn Paris, who I made based off of the show Star Trek Voyager. This is my own interpretation of the series and the characters.
I hope you enjoy the series, when I eventually get the first couple chapters up.

Chapter Text

Evelyn stared at her tablet.

Then rubbed her eyes.

Then stared again.

She couldn't believe what she was seeing on her screen. She knew that it was technically only sidelined from Starfleet, but she never expected to be let back on to a starship.

Especially not as Chief Science Officer and 3rd in Command of the USS Voyager. It was a short mission, and the incident had been cleared up around a month ago. So, it did make some amount of sense.

But she was still surprised.

"Lilly! I have something to tell you!" Evelyn yelled, rather excited.

Just then, Lilly poked her head through the door, looking rather confused. "Funny that, because I need to talk to you about something," she replied, looking slightly upset.

"You go first." They said at the same time. 

"No, you should. You look rather upset, and I don't want you to let it fester." Evelyn said, looking slightly concerned.

"Ok." Lilly took a deep breath. "I.... Got a role on the USS Voyager." She looked at Eve, seeing how she would react, scared that something bad would come out of the news.

Evelyn's jaw dropped. "No way. That's what I was going to tell you. Starfleet finally let me back in, and I got assigned to work on the USS Voyager."

She ran to hug her girlfriend, really excited that they would be on a mission together.

"Let's go pack!" Evelyn starts running off to gather her clothes. "Oh, but before I forget, what position did you get? I know you were focused on medicine in the academy."

"I got a nurse position in sickbay." Came the reply. "What about you?"

"I got Chief Science Officer." Evelyn said. 

"That's awesome!" Lillian smiled.

They both headed off to go pack.
