JiminIsMyJam asked: Yayy, could u do one where Jimin is asking you out for the first time but is very very nervous about it?
"Yah," Hoseok's voice broke the dark silence of the night. Jimin, who was formerly staring blankly at the ceiling, jerked his head to the right, seeing Hoseok stare at him with confused eyes.
"Hyung? Why are you not sleeping?"
"I could ask the same from you," he said, switching the lamp stand on.
"You're going to wake up Tae!" Jimin hissed.
"Too late," Taehyung's husky voice spoke up, muffled by the pillows.
"Great," Jimin flopped back onto the bed, facing the ceiling once again.
"What's on your mind, young grasshopper?"
The door suddenly flung open and in the doorway stood a tired looking Namjoon, hair in a mess with his shorts riding up and Jungkook, shirtless and yawning.
"How is it that you guys are still so loud at," Namjoon stopped to look at his watch, "5 in the morning?"
Jungkook came and tucked himself next to Jimin, pulling the blanket back tightly over himself.
"We weren't loud," Taehyung whispered.
"There's no point in you whispering now, everyone's up," Yoongi's sleepy voice emerged from the doorway. Jimin rolled his eyes and planted his head in the pillow when Seokjin walked in with him, meaning that everyone was now in the sunshine line's room.
"What's all this about?" Seokjin asked and Jimin felt someone sitting on his legs but couldn't be bothered to see who it was, "So that we can go back to sleep."
"Young Jiminnie is facing someone serious problems," Hoseok answered.
"About what?"
"About our choreo?"
"Oh yeah, this time it's really hard, and dancer hyung wanted us to be perfect by tomorrow," Jungkook agreed.
"But I thought he was doing quite well, weren't you Jiminie?"
"Well, if you need help, Jungkook and I are going to be there all day today, we wouldn't mind the company."
At the Jimin's silence, the members concluded the problem wasn't the choreography.
"Maybe it's his uni work," Namjoon nodded, "It looks pretty hard now, especially that you have exams coming up," he looked at both Taehyung and Jimin.
Jimin continued to stay still, with his head buried in his pillow, while his hyungs kept coming up with reasons – wrong reasons – as to why he was like that. The only thing he was thinking about, however, was you.
Suddenly a soft melody of birds singing and violins playing sounded and Jimin snapped his head up, looking straight to his phone, which was beside Taehyung and Yoongi. Before he could snatch it away from the two, Taehyung held it in his hands and showed the screen to Yoongi and he raised his eyebrows in amusement as he read the Caller ID.
"Y/N?"
"Y/N?!" the group chorused and Jimin finally snatched the phone away from them successfully and answered the phone.
"Y/N is a girl's name!" Hoseok hissed.
"Hello?" Jimin answered, shooting a death glare at the boys.
"It's girl problems," Seokjin emphasised the word 'girl' like it was a foreign term to them now.
Jimin sighed and stood up to leave the room.
"Hey Jimin," you replied cheerily, wondering what all the shushing and commotion was on the other line.
"What's up? You okay?" Jimin said as he closed the door behind him.
"Are you sleeping? I hope I didn't wake you," you said, worried. But you didn't sense any tiredness in his voice.
"No! Don't worry about it."
"Oh okay, I just called you because I couldn't sleep," you said.
Jimin froze. He was the go-to person for when you couldn't sleep?
He was?
His heart started beating and beating faster.
That one fact wasn't helping his feelings for you.
"Oh, why couldn't you sleep?" he managed to say, after some long silence.
"Just stressed," you replied, "are you busy?"
"Uhm, not really," he said, knowing full well that he should actually have some rest before his performance that night.
"Do you want to come over? It might help my insomnia," you asked.
Jimin hesitated before nodding extensively.
"Yo, Jimin," you asked quickly, "you do realise we are on the phone, meaning you have to speak out loud?"
Jimin's eyes widened and he was glad you weren't there to see what a big idiot he was being.
"Uh-huh, I'll come over, just give me 10 minutes," he said before you said your good byes and hung up.
When Jimin walked to the door of his room, he opened it and six 'grown men' fell out, each on top of another.
"Hello," Taehyung muttered, his head in between Seokjin and Jungkook's heads.
"You guys were listening?" Jimin asked, widening his eyes and then resuming his normal composure, "Why am I not surprised." He shook his head and walked over the boys before opening his closet and getting changed.
"Hyung, do you like that girl?" Jungkook asked and Jimin's head snapped up at the question.
He knew the answer.
"What? No," he flushed, trying to answer quickly.
"You are so transparent," Yoongi said as he heaved himself off of Namjoon and went to ruffle the boy's head. "Idiot."
"Have you asked her out yet?"
Jimin slowly looked to the floor.
"No," he mumbled.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm..."
"Because you're what?"
"I'm afraid," Jimin admitted, defeated.
"Of what?" Seokjin asked, walking over to Jimin with a worried expression on his face.
Jimin shrugged, "She might say-"
"Oh my gosh," Hoseok exclaimed, running over to him and covering Jimin's mouth. "If you say she might say no, I will kick you."
Jimin's eyes widened and Namjoon took the chance to explain his words.
"The girl likes you, you egg," he said, "You were the first person she thought to call when she couldn't sleep. I don't know what it is about you that she finds attractive, but there is something," he rubbed his chin in thought, "now what could it be?"
"Hyung!" Jimin whined, hitting his arm cutely.
The seven of them burst into laughter and Jimin looked at the clock.
"Okay, I'm going to ask her. Wish me luck!"
You had never done this to anyone before. You knew the guy liked you, and you had been dropping such obvious hints that you felt the same way, but the fact that he hadn't realised just irritated you. You had never needed to call someone up at 5 in the morning to show them that they meant something to you.
But you did.
For him.
Because he was special.
You paced up and down your hallway, biting your fingers as you waited for him to arrive. You hoped it wasn't awkward when he came, mostly because he was shy, and maybe he had finally gotten the message you had been trying to convey for years now.
Ding dong.
The door bell rang.
With a quick look at yourself in the mirror, you walked up to the door.
"Hey Jimin!" you said, when you saw his face smiling down at you.
Oh that eye smile. It really made your heart melt.
"Hey Y/N," he held up two plastic bags, "I brought sushi!"
"Yasss!" you cheered and made way for him to walk in and place them on the kitchen bench. "Can we dig in?" you asked, pulling out the boxes and laying them out on the table.
"Yes," he said, and then put your hand out before you could take any of it out, "Wait, no."
"Huh?"
"I need to ask you something," he said and quickly diverted his eyes from yours.
"What is it?"
"Well..." he said something but you couldn't hear because it was all muffled by his scarf.
You tried to bite back the butterflies you were getting from seeing Jimin so shy like this as you took a step forward and unravelled the scarf around his neck. He looked up to you in shock but you didn't stop. You two were only inches away while you looked up at him, blinking your eyes at him.
"Say it again," you told him, looking into his eyes.
You saw him physically gulp his pride back down into his throat and yet couldn't say anything. His cheeks were now flushed in a dark shade of red and you found it to be the cutest thing ever.
"I give up," you sighed, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him down to you.
He was clearly surprised by your actions, but didn't say anything and instead let you pull him down further to lock your lips to his.
He kissed you back, ever so softly and you realised that maybe Jimin really was shy in all his ways, but that just added to his charm.
"Will you go out with me Jimin?" you asked, a small smile playing on your lips when you parted.
"No," he answered quickly and you dropped your hands from his neck in shock.
He smiled and grabbed your hands again, ravelling them around his neck, "I'm meant to ask you. Will you go out with me, Y/N?"
