   Summary

   The Enterprise welcomes a new cultural officer, Elinor Jones, whom Spock finds fascinating. Their mutual admiration grows, even as the ship takes on Asha, an unexpected passenger from the planet of Vaal. Asha, however, is fascinated with the good doctor and makes no bones about expressing it.
