Chapter Text
November end, 20XX. It was Samuel’s birthday; A reminder for the amount of years he has been single. It’s not a big deal, right? But it is for Samuel’s lonely ass. Seeing happy couples on social media has probably taken a toll on Samuel, as he’s be seen staring at those couples with envy- including his best friend Chris. You see, Chris has been dating someone for almost a year now. Every time Samuel asks Chris to hang out, he’d always ask to bring his boyfriend along, reluctant to separate from his partner. And when Chris’ boyfriend, Esteban comes along: those love birds just HAD to act all lovely dovey with each other. Samuel eventually got tired of being the third wheel in his best friend’s relationship. And like a normal person, he asked Chris for advice.
“Uhm… Chris…?”
“Yeah? what’s up?”
“This is gonna sound weird and all, but.. How do you find a man like Esteban? Like.. What should I look for, o-or— how should I get their attention?—!” Samuel asked, feeling his cheek flush in shame and embarrassment as he trailed off from his unfinished sentence.
He lifted his gaze up to meet Chris’ off guard expression, before he broke it with a chuckle.
“Oh, that’s what you’re asking about?” Chris replied with a soft smile. “You know that your dear best friend is the best at getting boyfriends? Right?” Chris reached out to place a warm hand onto’s Samuel’s trembling shoulder, assuring his friend that he’ll help him. “You can even just demand for a male model and your best friend will bring you one as soon ad possible!”
“R-Really…? Thank you..!” Samuel exclaimed, bouncing around in joy. He rushed to hug Chris tightly, not letting go one bit.
“No need to hug me; You’re my best friend after all.” Chris reassured, giving Samuel’s excited eyes another soft smile.
“Well, ahem.. here’s some tips from you’re dear friend:- ———————————————————————————— , Oh right! If you can, make sure to get Grindr!”
Samuel stood still as Chris went on and on about tips, his face etched with confusion as he wondered to himself, Is finding true love this complicated..? But he quickly snapped out of it.
“O-Oh okay..!! Thank you!- I can’t wait to find my true love!” Samuel squealed with delight, daydreaming about his boyfriend, completely ignoring Chris’ warning: “Don’t match with a guy called ‘I Got you’.”
It had only been a week since that day with Chris, and Samuel had CHANGED. He had switched his entire identity. His wardrobe? Transformed. Samuel had started Grindr, which means that he had started going on dates again; …With most of them not working out. But he can’t give up THAT easily! Just swipe away the frustration of being single!
After swiping for a good amount of time, Samuel stopped his index finger on a certain profile, seeing a man with the code name “I Got you.”
“Huh… ‘I Got you..’ Age XX.. Nonchalant, Baby face, Athletic, and a playboy?” Samuel read out loud, frowning at the last detail of the Grindr profile.
“But I can still try to see if he’d work out like the rest… If he even can.” Samuel wondered, asking himself if he should meet up with his mysterious man.
“Ehh.. what’s the harm with another date?”
