Turn of the century au Morpherine Gallery

Summary:

I made one for my romy art I've done over the last yesr for this au, I thought it would be a good idea to do a collection for morpherine too.

This is for my turn of the century au of evo, where X-Men evolution takes place at the turn of the 20th century instead of the 21st. As part of the au morph is present as a teacher at the institute, having formerly been a broadway actor. They are also Logan's romantic partner.

Hello everyone this is just transferring some art over from Tumblr for my AU. If this is your first time interacting with it, thank you for stopping by! Morphine is one of the main ships for this au. I don't do a lot of writing for it on its own however, just “the wild girl of Carson city” but I have done several art pieces for it. Important thing to note: morph is absolute nonbinary/gender fluid in this au and goes by They/them pronouns. However, in historical context, terms like genderfluid and nonbinary did not exist yet. Hell, the word “bisexual” was actually a term used for trans individuals at the time. As a result, morph refers to themself as a “Fairy” which at the time referred to a wide variety of individuals including Gay men who presented effeminently, what we would consider twinks now, occasionally drag queens, but within the community was used as an identity for someone who was born male but did not entirely identify as a man and preferred to present more androgynously.

So this is when morph first met logan

They actually first met at the 1904 st Louis world's Fair/US Olympic games when morph was 24, when they were visiting for a brief vacation. They ironically enough actually saw Logan performing at a wild West demonstration (Logan needed money where he could get it, and world's fairs not only paid big bucks in wages for the time but he also got tips) where he rode a live, angry bull rodeo style. They spent the afternoon together after Logan fell off the bull and had to fake a shoulder strain at least to seem normal, and morph decided to introduce them self as a bit of a hot and bothered fan. Morph figured out he was a mutant from the fact he wasn't even wincing or avoiding using his shoulder at all, and came out to him about their own powers. they bonded a bit, but had to part ways as neither of them were living in St. Louis permanently. Morph only had a week off after all.

Someone sent me a video about how ballet looks like martial arts once when both are slowed down and shown side by side and so this was born

They definitely can, but it’s not necessarily going to be what they choose to do. The 1910s was a difficult time to grow up between disease and discrimination and all kinds of stuff. It was hard being a kid and it was also hard to parent a child if you were a minority of some sort.

Thankfully there is Laura who is 10 in this au. So morph gets to be mama morph or daddy morph to their hearts content! ….She warms up to them…

Thought id share the tumblr post that got me to figure out how to include laura in in the totc au. Not entirely canon but very cute, yeah?
