Summary
He is the King of Dreams. She is the one dream he cannot wake.
In the infinite halls of the Dreaming, the ever-shifting tapestry of mortal hopes and nightmares have begun to fall apart. Palaces collapse into oceans; familiar landscapes rot into wastelands; dreams turn inside out. When Morpheus discovers the cause: a mortal woman who walks his realm as if it belongs to her. She bends the dreamscapes without knowing, then vanishes like mist.
In the waking world, she lies in an unyielding coma—her body still, her soul roaming free. She moves through his dominion like a phantom, bending the dreamscapes without knowing, her presence a dangerous, intoxicating storm. Each attempt to wake her leaves him more entangled, her absence cutting sharper than any blade. Every attempt fails, as though something—or someone—holds her fast between worlds.
What begins as an act of duty grows into something far more dangerous: fascination. The King of Dreams finds himself drawn to her, her strange power, her fragile mortality, and the unfathomable connection between their fates. Sometimes even the King of Dreams must face a dangerous truth: some dreams are not meant to be woken.
