Forgotten by the gods, only to become one without any choice

Summary:

Lizzie has been falling in the void for god knows how long. It was so.. lonely. She had accepted her life as a forgotten entity a long time ago. No one will come and save her.

Yet suddenly- the void breaks, seeing the cruel darkness of her world be shattered like glass by beautiful colors of various purples, greens, pinks, and so- so many bright, glittering stars gushing everywhere- til it filled the entire void.

Like the northern lights.. but much more beautiful.

her legs meet the softness of end dust- this can't be the end anymore , can it?

She could see a rectangle design orbiting, in the .. sky? Like a moon? It seemed familiar to the symbol on the secret keeper's face, but she couldn't remember.

'We should turn her into one of us..' caught her ears- said by whom? There wasn't anyone here..

Did the deities finally answered her long forgotten prayers of being freed?

Work Text:

The eyes formed into a bright purple blob- then resembling a body- and then.. a person?

It wasn't a person, it looked like a divine being- it felt like divinity.. not good divinity, but divinity.

He was beautiful- ethereal. Hollow, lavender eyes bore to the girl’s own, huge wings creating a barrier around her- making the man look bigger than he actually is. ‘Beautiful’ she thought once more

The brown haired ‘god..?’ chuckled softly, as if he could read her thoughts, cupping her face. On closer perspective he looked like..

‘GRIAN?!’ she tried to yell out, millions of questions flooding her head- but nothing escaped her mouth

The ‘bird..? Angel..?’ burst into giggles.

“Yes, it's me.” he clarified after a whole minute... “I'm sure you're very confused right now.”

Yet, instead of explaining, he simply ran his fingers to her hair- the gesture was strangely affectionate and intimate- which felt wrong, as beautiful as he was, she didn't like the gesture, especially when it wasn't from her husband.

“Forget about him now” said calmly “you won't be able to reach him anytime soon” ‘Wait- what?! What do you mean?!’

‘What is the meaning of this-’ the pinkette finally came to her senses at the thought of her losing her husband- it was as if she was being hypnotized earlier ‘what is going on?!’

“You're stuck here, Lizzie, you've fallen into the void” she felt him playing with her hair again, Lizzie tried pulling away only to realise she was frozen in place the entire time. “And no one gets out of the void.” ‘No shit, Sherlock’

“Joel had won a long time ago,” Grian starts, ignoring the former fairy’s thoughts “he's freed, the games finally ended.” She felt a rush of relief wash over her.

though she couldn't spend the rest of her life with him anymore.

The ‘God’s’ voice broke out again, “Everyone else went on with their lives, every memory about the games and their allyships were erased.”

“I've been alone, trapped as a watcher”

‘...?’

Yet the ‘watcher’ bloomed back into a smile that was far too pleased.

“But you're here.. they let me keep you- the one thing that remained forever.”

“The others like you, did you know? They want to turn you into one of us” he leaned in, their noses touching, Grian straddling the powerless fairy.

Lizzie's mind screamed at her to pull away, but she was still unmoving- trapped.

“I'll take care of you.”

Her heart started beating rapidly in fear- what was gonna happen to her? What did he mean by turning her into one of them?! Will she still be isolated and falling..?

What did it mean to be a watcher?- Was Grian a secret keeper?

“Everything will be fine.” he placed a hand on top of where her heart was. “You're here, safe with me.”

“It's fine if you don't accept me, I can wait.”

He snapped his fingers.

Lizzie coughed- trying to push Grian away, crawling back- she was ‘finally…’ able to move and speak. It was suffocating.

“I don’t-” she choked out “-want to be a watcher.” Her voice was hoarse.

“Then do you want to keep falling in the void forever?” remarked Grian, standing up- walking towards the now-shaking figure. “You don't particularly have any other choice here, you're forbidden to ever go back to the overworld freely, like the rest of us”

“P...please don't throw me back there.” She raised her trembling hands.

“So you'll join us?”

She nodded. Still completely clueless about what was going on.

The watcher pulled out his dagger- stabbing his wrist and shoved it's bleeding lavender goo onto Lizzie's mouth, he was on top of her now as she struggled.

He could just freeze her again, or tell her that it was a necessity to turn into a watcher- but it was satisfying to cause human behaviourisms after so long.

He pulled her jaw- forcing the mucus drip into her throat. Grian could hear the taller woman sob.

He felt her biting his wrist- ’jackpot!’ the watcher said to himself.

Was it cruel that he wished the human beneath him was Bigb? The watcher mused in his head.

Nonetheless, he's happy to have what remained from the games.

He finally had something that was his.

Watcher's blood makes you obsessed. Grian will gladly let her cling onto him once she's turned.
