Stone woke up to the comforting feeling of Robotnik's arm slung over his waist, his warm body pressed to his back. The lights were a very dim blue, casting the room in a comfortable dim glow.

Robotnik stirred slightly behind him, nuzzling his face into his omega's neck, nose pressed against the fading bond mark as he inhaled the comforting coffee scent of his mate. "Good morning, Aban."

"Good morning." Stone replied, sighing contently as he leaned back into his alpha's embrace, cocooned in their combined scent of coffee and machine oil. "I could stay here forever."

As if on cue, the bedroom door opened and suddenly their six year old twins Belle and Sage were rushing into the room, jumping onto the bed. 

"Papa, Baba! Time to get up!" Belle shouted energetically,,. 

"Too early, Mi Amor. Five more minutes." Robotnik grumbled, trying to put his pillow over his ear. 

In response, Sage turned the lights up, flooding the room in bright blue light.

"Ugh, really Sage?" Robotnik grumbled. "You're more like your Baba every day, I swear to Tesla..."

"It is 8:30, we should probably get up." Stone chuckled, sitting up on the edge of the bed. Robotnik automatically groaned in annoyance, pulling the covers over his head. "I'll start your latte for you."

"I'll be out in ten. But I'm NOT happy about the rude awakening, girls." Robotnik grumbled playfully from beneath the blanket. 

Stone chuckled as he walked out into the main area of The Crab with the girls, setting them each in their chairs at the kitchen table before starting breakfast. A few minutes later Shadow and Robotnik came out from their bedrooms, Robotnik waking Metal from his charging station and setting him in a chair because even though the android didn't actually eat, Metal still liked sitting at the table with them. 

Stone set Robotnik's latte on the table and gave Sage and Belle both a glass of apple juice. Shadow got a mug of hot cocoa with three marshmallows, a drink Stone had introduced him to. 

"Can we watch Encanto again after breakfast?" Belle asks. 

"Sure we can, sweetie." Stone says before Robotnik could object, shooting a playful glare at him. The doctor sighed with a playful roll of his eyes. "Okay, blueberries or chocolate chips with your waffles?"

"Chocolate chips!" Belle, Sage, and Robotnik said in unison. 

"Okay, chocolate chips it is." Stone chuckles.

After breakfast, Stone and Robotnik sat on the couch, Encanto playing on the screen. Belle was sat in Stone's lap and Sage in Robotnik's, Shadow and Metal sat on the floor at their feet. Stone's head was rested on Robotnik's shoulder, their fingers intertwined as they watched Mirabel bring her dysfunctional superpowered family back together for the millionth time. 

Suddenly, Shadow's phone buzzed, and he picked it up to see a text from Sonic.

Sonic: Hey, hot topic! What are you up to on this fine morning?

Shadow: Watching Encanto with Robotnik and Stone. You?

Sonic: Hanging out with Knuckles, Tails, and Amy. We're thinking of heading out for McDonald's later if you wanna join

Shadow: I'll think about it. Have you heard anything from Silver?

Sonic: He's been doing good. He and Tails are still working on tracking down that weird energy signature, haven't been able to pinpoint it

"You texting that little blue gumball again?" Robotnik asks, peeking at Shadow's screen. 

"He just wanted to know how my day's been so far." Shadow replies defensively. 

"If you want to text that irritating interstellar eulipotyphlan, I'm in no position to stop you." Robotnik says. "Besides, who am I to keep you from being with your Mariano?" 

Shadow ducked his head down, hiding the blush beneath his fur. For a creature that had spent 50 years frozen in cryostasis, it was no surprise he was awkward when it came to this. Stone and Robotnik had made courting look so easy at first, but they had told him several times that it wasn't, especially when one or both partners are oblivious to each other's advances. Same as with humans, Mobians had a secondary gender. It just so happened that Shadow was an Omega, and he was hopelessly pining for Sonic, an excessively energetic beta who seemed oblivious to Shadow's affections.

"He asked if I wanted to go hang out with him and his friends later." Shadow mumbled. 

"You should do it." Stone says encouragingly. "They're your friends too, after all." 

"You guys really don't mind? He used to be your worst enemy." Shadow asks, uncertain. 

"We've told you before, that's in the past." Stone assures him. "Go see him. You have our blessing."

"Shh, I love this song!" Belle interrupted as Isabella started singing What Else Can I do?
