Work Text:
About Anaxa:
As heir to the authority of reason, Lord Anaxagoras reached unprecedented levels of thinking.
As a fellow scholar, I greatly respect his will and desire to seek the truth.
However, being restricted to the role of a player in the Amphorean experiment prevented him from reaching true enlightenment.
Many bright minds in the cosmos similar to Lord Anaxagoras remain dormant under the watchful gaze of Nous "himself". With the completion of Irontomb, I will free them from their-
Oh?... You're asking why I didn't call Nous "THEMSELVES"?
He laughs. "My apologies, esteemed reader. It must have... slipped my mind."
...
About Aglaea:
The main orchestrator of the futile "Flame-Chase Journey" has no qualms in doing what is necessary to ensure the completion of her goal, a trait I can deeply empathise with.
However... Lady Aglaea's unwarranted willingness to protect Amphoreus and her "fellow" Chrysos heirs remains a stain on an otherwise honourable character.
She does not seem to understand that to truly succeed in your cause, you have to be prepared to give up anything for it. On that matter, I fear we may never see eye to eye.
...
About Castorice:
Even though Lady Castorice was told countless times by Lord Khaslana about the true nature of Amphoreus and it's eternal recurrences, the Demigod of Death never once considered or even thought of the possibility that surrendering to the peace of death and letting Irontomb progress would be a better fate for Amphoreus than dying at the hands of Lord Khaslana eternally.'
He sighs. 'It seems that her pursuit of seeing the bright side in everything- even death- has blinded her to the harsh reality of this universe. What a pity.
...
About Hyacine:
She possesses a ridiculously optimistic and naive view of the future.
Never once has she managed to achieve a feat on par with Lord Anaxagoras, Lady Aglaea or even Lady Castorice, in any cycle.
There is no salvation for those like her who wish to remain shackled in the cave. All we can do is wait for their inevitable and meaningless demise.
...
About Mydei:
Lord Mydeimos, like Lord Khaslana, shares a deep and stubborn defiance of destiny. I now see why their bond was so strong.
Lord Mydeimos too did not seem to realise that fighting against fate does not mean that he will ever be able to change it.
When I revealed to him this simple fact, Lord Mydeimos replied that 'there is no word for surrender in the kremnoan language', even though I was the one who made the language and know very well there is a word for it.
But alas... At least his deaths provide some much needed entertainment to an otherwise mundane and dull figure.
...
About Phainon (of the 33,550,336th cycle):
Ah, The story of a village boy becoming a hero... A typical cliche.
Lets move on to the next chrysos heir.
Lord Khaslana is far, far more intriguing than him.
...
About Khaslana:
Lord Khaslana has managed to stall Irontomb's completion for a substantial amount of time via his eternal recurrences. He has killed former comrades and enemies alike, waiting for a saviour from beyond the sky.
Unlike others, his will has only grown stronger over the passage of time.
As a factor steering the experiment off course, he should have been eradicated by my hands a long time ago. But, I am... intrigued to see how long he can keep resisting. Sooner or later, he will fall, and I wish to be present at that momentous occasion.
I alone am the exception to the erosion of time.
